I could never understand people who treat DSMP like a dead fandom or feel ashamed of still adoring this piece of media in 2024. After all, isn’t the whole point of enjoying any story to keep it in your heart for years instead of forgetting about it the moment it loses its popularity? How did classical literature or old movies/series survive and remain appreciated until today, for example? The DSMP fandom is alive because there still are people who deeply care about the characters, and it will keep on living until there’s at least one person passionate about it.

It is true that the DSMP fandom was bigger in 2020-2022, but it’s also important to remember the quality of the fanbase at the time. I remember seeing so much more harassment, especially directed towards people interested in portraying c!Prime’s canonically abusive dynamic without even exploring the aspect of /p physical affection; many people were forced to deactivate their accounts because of the insane amount of toxic reactions. There were also A Lot of people incapable of understanding that CC’s characters weren’t supposed to represent their real life personalities, which either led to certain CC’s harassment for being “horrible people” or to misinterpretation of certain characters (e.g. c!Dream, c!George, c!Sapnap, c!Quackity, or c!Sam), a huge amount of poor lore comprehension, leading to Lots of victim-blaming and abuse apologism.

Now that DSMP is over and less popular, a significant amount of people responsible for the fandom’s poor reputation is gone, and people who genuinely understand the characters and simply want to discuss and/or create content for their hyperfixation in peace, stayed. Of course, this fandom isn’t perfect or entirely free of Weird™ people, but there’s certainly less toxicity, and it’s all that matters.

The next time you feel ashamed of still enjoying DSMP, try to remind yourself of the wonderful memories, excitement, creativity boost, and friends it brought you, and focus on the fact that this story will remain alive for as long as you let it.

When we were 14, trying to figure out if we went through RAMCOA (not even 2 MONTHS after we got abandoned by our abuser) we would get paragraphs apon paragraphs of OTHER SYSTEMS screaming at us about being fakers

Flash news: what was done to us WAS RAMCOA, just not the "mainstream" type of ramcoa (aka we weren't in a cult), it took a pretty popular system (who was also harassing us before for that) to be like "hey, maybe we (ADULTS) shouldn't harass a minor" for people to leave us alone

To all ramcoa and questioning ramcoa system: I wish you all luck in your recovery journey, and if you're questioning, PLEASE go to a professional instead of trying to discover it yourselves before you're mentally ready to, because that was the biggest mistake we did

Talking about antis but there is currently a tiktok post where an anti exposed minors' selfies that they posted in a discord server and they did so clearly for clout. Some people in the comments even started to recognize the people in the video, but they all thought that was "deserved" and some more vile shit that they posted about REAL CHILDREN

and you know what? Not a single anti outside of tiktok (it made it to twitter) cared. NONE. NOT A SINGLE WORD from these people

and the post is still up and has currently 90k likes. Way way way too many people preying on children

I was making some light references to this exact post in one of my previous posts on minors and internet safety! What’s scary is that there were people who actually DID recognize people in the post and were VERY uncomfortable with people who they know’s privacy being invaded (thank god for people having humanity).

It actually needs to be taken down though since it is a huge invasion of privacy. Sure, they sent those pics and consented to that. But from what I know, it was in a private discord server that an anti found their way into. Could be wrong, but that’s what I heard.

And the amount of bullying on the post itself, towards children mind you, is absolutely disgusting! Nobody “deserves” that sort of treatment.

This is the shit that needs to be taken seriously, because this is mass harassment and a mass invasion of privacy. No way proshippers are the bad people here when this is what adult (and minor) fantis do in their spare time

they weren't called on me.

we were visiting family for a birthday, and they have friends who are retired police officers, as my partner's father is a retired detective himself. not only that, these two officers had dragon type pokemon. immediately i am uncomfortable, so i stayed outside to take pictures of the wild pokemon that visit their backyard, as their backyard is a giant open forest. eating some pizza and fruit of course.

while taking pictures, i get approached by one of them. i'm trying to be polite, but then he starts interrogating me about me being a ghost type specialist. i will not say in full detail what he told me, just know he was being creepy about my appearance because he 'has experience with people who are into creepy stuff'. now i'm annoyed and telling him to back off or i'm leaving this party. i guess his turtonator took that as a 'threat', so it starts physically trying to block me from going anywhere and blowing smoke out to stay back as a warning. anakaris is out and is now in defensive mode, doing that loud bellow sound as an alert in response.

my partner's father broke it up before anything could happen, and my partner and i left soon after they suggested we should do party games to help 'ease the mood'. i wish we were able to grab more pizza though…

This fandom uses the term SA very loosely. Makes me wonder if then consider harassment (which is very bad) the same as literal assault/rape. It's a serious difference that needs to be talked about. Both are bad, but one can literally kill you.

rpp (schizotaxic) was my favorite blogger and i remember back when they were running people repost their posts w/o permission and also spread misinfo or false attributions, even now in the schizoid schizotypal tags u see ppl who uses the "schizotaxic" label constantly attributes it to paul meehl w/o ever mentioning rpp themselves (paul meehl did coined the original word but the updated definition that includes the four specific disorders and the explanations of the mechanisms r from rpp specifically, and its the ones rpp wrote that ppl r spreading on tumblr. paul meehls og definition only defined schizotaxia as the now disproven concept of a "gene" that causes schizophrenia and not all the stuff em wrote for their own model)

i remember when rpp corrected ppl for issues like that 2 prevent the spread of misinfo ppl would reply sarcastically 2 them and there was also problems of harassment and stalking w/ them w/ ppl shaming them 4 being weird and paranoid..... on the weird and paranoid disease blog ofc

2 this day it looks like some ppl who still post w/ the "schizotaxic" label refuse to acknowledge rpp at all and i suspect its either because ppl want 2 look like "real researchers" by attributing a famous psychologist like meehl (while posting content obviously regurgitated from ems writings) or bcuz rpps public breakdowns shoot their reputation in the foot and now nobody wants to be associated w/ the schizo who makes the other schizos look bad

considering rpp became so hard 2 talk 2 was worsened by ppl harassing them and the fact they didnt have any friends makes the way theyre still treated now so ironic and rly left a bad taste in my mouth in the schizoid schizotypal community of tumblr tbh, even when they shortly returned and asked ppl 2 stop reposting their writings so they could update old info nobody ever respected their wishes

Their work was extremely influential for us in figuring out what was going on and in finding the words to describe what was happening in our brain; I think if we hadn't found them, we'd still be years behind where we are now. They deserved so much better. We'd go back every now and again to find old things they'd talked about especially while discovering our own shit, and their writings were invaluable, especially as someone who tends to struggle with parsing writing in general, and especially the jargon most commonly used in research. It sucks that they aren't recognized for the good they did and that their contributions are shared, but their name is brushed to the side in the process.

Ruin basically behaved all the way through getting his brand and barcode tattoo and all the sexual harassment at the auction, up until he was up on stage for auction.

Once on the stage, Ruin promptly began to attack himself and scratch and claw and bite himself to show that he wasn't marketable nor sellable. Going so far that he bit off several of his fingers and threw them at the auctioneer. If you think proship means anything other than "I might hate certain ships and think they're gross, but I'll never bully or harass someone over it", you've been fed misinformation by people who are neck-deep in far-right puritanism.

What I mean is rather simple, really.

- I don't accept harassment as a way to deal with people. If I don't agree with people, either I leave them be or explain why I don't agree, without using harsh words, insulting them or violating their privacy. And people are getting way too comfortable with sending people death threats or insults against others: that is unacceptable, and I don't want to interact with that kind of people.

- Proship has been widely considered on the Internet by pretty much "accepting ANY kind of ship, including the ones between siblings or involving minors".

Now, as you're trying to say here, perhaps proshipping may have started as very nuanced and having set limits on who could or couldn't be shipped, but most people will take "shipping anyone with anyone without distinctions" too far, so now we have this issue.

I simply am saying: "If you think shipping minors with adults or siblings is acceptable, please don't talk to me". Tw-Suicide Mentions Just had a pro-endo come harass me and say I was the reason they tried to kill themselves because they had past experiences with anti-endos telling them to kill themselves and I was also anti-endo even though I don't support doing that, and I definitely wasn't the anti-endo telling them that ;-; this ended up triggering me as they blatantly ignored me when I said to please stop messaging me and stuff like that is a trigger to me ;-;
