I could never understand people who treat DSMP like a dead fandom or feel ashamed of still adoring this piece of media in 2024. After all, isn’t the whole point of enjoying any story to keep it in your heart for years instead of forgetting about it the moment it loses its popularity? How did classical literature or old movies/series survive and remain appreciated until today, for example? The DSMP fandom is alive because there still are people who deeply care about the characters, and it will keep on living until there’s at least one person passionate about it.

It is true that the DSMP fandom was bigger in 2020-2022, but it’s also important to remember the quality of the fanbase at the time. I remember seeing so much more harassment, especially directed towards people interested in portraying c!Prime’s canonically abusive dynamic without even exploring the aspect of /p physical affection; many people were forced to deactivate their accounts because of the insane amount of toxic reactions. There were also A Lot of people incapable of understanding that CC’s characters weren’t supposed to represent their real life personalities, which either led to certain CC’s harassment for being “horrible people” or to misinterpretation of certain characters (e.g. c!Dream, c!George, c!Sapnap, c!Quackity, or c!Sam), a huge amount of poor lore comprehension, leading to Lots of victim-blaming and abuse apologism.

Now that DSMP is over and less popular, a significant amount of people responsible for the fandom’s poor reputation is gone, and people who genuinely understand the characters and simply want to discuss and/or create content for their hyperfixation in peace, stayed. Of course, this fandom isn’t perfect or entirely free of Weird™ people, but there’s certainly less toxicity, and it’s all that matters.

The next time you feel ashamed of still enjoying DSMP, try to remind yourself of the wonderful memories, excitement, creativity boost, and friends it brought you, and focus on the fact that this story will remain alive for as long as you let it.

Well I've decided to adress these claims

Not only are these people spreading lies and misinformation, they are also setting me and these people up for harassment (some of the blogs mentioned are run by literal MINORS). Not to mention that sone of these blogs (including mine) have NEVER interacted with Nirmal before.

Also it's so funny that Nirmal claims that SHE'S the one being harassed when she's out ther calling people literal SLURS (last time I checked, she called Senja an "r-slured cunt who assumes things'').

On top of this, she spreads misinformation about asks from Palestinians, claiming they're "scams". First of all, how does she even know that they're scams? Second of all, why would Palestinians send these asks just to scam people. I highly doubt victims of the ongoing genocide would beg for money just for ✨funsies✨. Not to mention her overall shitty behaviour.

So there. I really do not appreciate lies being spread about me and my friends. I genuinely hope people see the truth.

Flash news: what was done to us WAS RAMCOA, just not the "mainstream" type of ramcoa (aka we weren't in a cult), it took a pretty popular system (who was also harassing us before for that) to be like "hey, maybe we (ADULTS) shouldn't harass a minor" for people to leave us alone

To all ramcoa and questioning ramcoa system: I wish you all luck in your recovery journey, and if you're questioning, PLEASE go to a professional instead of trying to discover it yourselves before you're mentally ready to, because that was the biggest mistake we did

Talking about antis but there is currently a tiktok post where an anti exposed minors' selfies that they posted in a discord server and they did so clearly for clout. Some people in the comments even started to recognize the people in the video, but they all thought that was "deserved" and some more vile shit that they posted about REAL CHILDREN

and you know what? Not a single anti outside of tiktok (it made it to twitter) cared. NONE. NOT A SINGLE WORD from these people

and the post is still up and has currently 90k likes. Way way way too many people preying on children

I was making some light references to this exact post in one of my previous posts on minors and internet safety! What’s scary is that there were people who actually DID recognize people in the post and were VERY uncomfortable with people who they know’s privacy being invaded (thank god for people having humanity).

It actually needs to be taken down though since it is a huge invasion of privacy. Sure, they sent those pics and consented to that. But from what I know, it was in a private discord server that an anti found their way into. Could be wrong, but that’s what I heard.

And the amount of bullying on the post itself, towards children mind you, is absolutely disgusting! Nobody “deserves” that sort of treatment.

This is the shit that needs to be taken seriously, because this is mass harassment and a mass invasion of privacy. No way proshippers are the bad people here when this is what adult (and minor) fantis do in their spare time

they weren't called on me.

we were visiting family for a birthday, and they have friends who are retired police officers, as my partner's father is a retired detective himself. not only that, these two officers had dragon type pokemon. immediately i am uncomfortable, so i stayed outside to take pictures of the wild pokemon that visit their backyard, as their backyard is a giant open forest. eating some pizza and fruit of course.

while taking pictures, i get approached by one of them. i'm trying to be polite, but then he starts interrogating me about me being a ghost type specialist. i will not say in full detail what he told me, just know he was being creepy about my appearance because he 'has experience with people who are into creepy stuff'. now i'm annoyed and telling him to back off or i'm leaving this party. i guess his turtonator took that as a 'threat', so it starts physically trying to block me from going anywhere and blowing smoke out to stay back as a warning. anakaris is out and is now in defensive mode, doing that loud bellow sound as an alert in response.

my partner's father broke it up before anything could happen, and my partner and i left soon after they suggested we should do party games to help 'ease the mood'. i wish we were able to grab more pizza though…

If you think proship means anything other than "I might hate certain ships and think they're gross, but I'll never bully or harass someone over it", you've been fed misinformation by people who are neck-deep in far-right puritanism.

What I mean is rather simple, really.

- I don't accept harassment as a way to deal with people. If I don't agree with people, either I leave them be or explain why I don't agree, without using harsh words, insulting them or violating their privacy. And people are getting way too comfortable with sending people death threats or insults against others: that is unacceptable, and I don't want to interact with that kind of people.

- Proship has been widely considered on the Internet by pretty much "accepting ANY kind of ship, including the ones between siblings or involving minors".

Now, as you're trying to say here, perhaps proshipping may have started as very nuanced and having set limits on who could or couldn't be shipped, but most people will take "shipping anyone with anyone without distinctions" too far, so now we have this issue.

I simply am saying: "If you think shipping minors with adults or siblings is acceptable, please don't talk to me". I won't go out of my way to be an Internet police on anyone, since I want to focus my energy on having fun with my blogs and mutuals, but I've stated which people I don't wanna talk with.

Ruin basically behaved all the way through getting his brand and barcode tattoo and all the sexual harassment at the auction, up until he was up on stage for auction.

Once on the stage, Ruin promptly began to attack himself and scratch and claw and bite himself to show that he wasn't marketable nor sellable. Going so far that he bit off several of his fingers and threw them at the auctioneer. No offense but you chose the weakest examples for Steve and Eddie doing bad things. Like the bottle could be chalked up to self-defense. People usually point to Eddie dealing drugs to minors which yeah. Is kind of more concerning.

Also Steve’s slur was like… treated as a throwaway line in the show. I don’t know why people use Steve being casually homophobic to Jonathan and ableist to Dustin as the worst things he did when also yknow. We get whole scenes about the slutshaming of Nancy, which also literally got her taunted on the street after it happened. Idc how much ppl don’t like Nancy, she isn’t one of my faves but I am not glossing over that as much as I won’t gloss over the photos. And idc how much ppl deflect saying it’s Tommy’s fault bc he carried out the painting, that’s still all because of Steve looking through Nancy’s window and choosing to allow and work with his friends on this intentionally laid out plan every step of the way.

I agree with your post btw none of the ST older teens are saints, it’s just I think people still tend to go a little easy on Steve and Eddie compared to Jonathan and Billy when they focus on the lighter examples from the former and on the worst from the latter.

Well i don't have anything to add except Eddie's bottle being self defense. The situation was nowhere near self defense. He was running away yes but this doesn't excuse him casually throwing a bottle around.
