These sweet potato turkey burgers are a delicious and healthy twist on a classic burger. The sweet potato adds a natural sweetness and moisture to the lean ground turkey, making these burgers juicy and flavorful. They're perfect for clean eating enthusiasts!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground turkey. 1 cup cooked and mashed sweet potato. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. 1/2 tsp ground cumin. 1/2 tsp paprika. Salt and pepper to taste. Whole grain burger buns. Lettuce leaves and tomato slices for topping.
Instructions: Ground turkey, mashed sweet potato, chopped onion, red bell pepper, cilantro, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper should all be mixed together in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients together until they are well mixed. Make burger patties out of the mixture that are the size you want. Warm up a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. The turkey burgers should be cooked for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are done inside and have a nice char on the outside. Put the whole grain burger buns on the grill or in the toaster and toast them until they get a little brown. Start by putting lettuce leaves on the bottom half of each bun. Then add a turkey burger patty and tomato slices on top. Add the top half of the bun to the stack. Enjoy your hot sweet potato turkey burgers!

IT'S FRIDAY, GENTLEMEN. Time to de-suit. Have a turkeyburger.
The day after I retire, I plan on having a big bonfire in the backyard of all my suits and ties. Maybe my boxer shorts.
You're all invited to the bonfire. Clothing optional.

Today was a terribly cold and rainy day. Yesterday was Mardi Gras, but I couldn’t find any king cake anywhere. That’s a bummer because I love king cake. Ellie spent the night last night because she has late class Tuesday and earlier class Wednesday. So at least I got to sleep with her last night.
I started my day off with an exam that I barely didn’t finish. I was on the last question and ran out of time. Then moved on to a class that I can’t pay attention in because I don’t understand what we are doing because I can’t pay attention in. Then I had lunch and learned that a friend of mine has decided to break up with his girlfriend of four years after lots of consideration and thought. He is going to do it in a few weeks. He isn’t happy in the relationship, but he isn’t sad like he used to be. It used to be a lot more rough, but now it’s just nothing and he feels nothing. I don’t know, maybe I’m putting words in his mouth by summarizing.
Then I went to another class. Then home for like 20 minutes, then I went to pick up Ellie and get dropped off for lab. We got new lab partners today and I think I like these ones more than my previous. They seem more enthusiastic and personable. And smarter too. Lab always takes so long. The full 1 hour and whatever minutes. Then lecture which I barely paid attention to.
I went home and sat around for a bit. I was hungry so I went to the dining hall to get some turkeyburgers but there were none. Only regular burgers. So I left and got a personal pizza from the diner. Chicken bacon ranch with no bacon. I ate it while watching YouTube and then did some homework.
I do a good job of keeping up with my homework. I should work on my job more.
I feel so drained. We are going out to the bars on Friday and I can’t wait. It’ll be nice to have fun time with friends.
Goodnight Tumblr!

I love it when it happens to individual words as well, giving us prefixes and suffixes that don't really make etymological sense. Like "hamburger" - literally German for "from Hamburg" or "in the style of Hamburg", where "burg" just means "city", and somehow we dropped the "Ham" part, which is the part that tells us which city it actually comes from, and used "burger" (literally "citizen") to mean "grilled and put between two round buns". "Turkeyburger" ought to mean "a citizen of the city of Turkey" but instead it's turkey meat on a bun. And if you use ground ham to make a burger, you can't just call the result a "hamburger" because that means "beefburger"; you might spell it out as "ham burger" but if you're saying it aloud it's gotta be a "porkburger" or a "ground ham sandwich".
I think it's kind of funny when two-word phrases get shortened in a way that takes out the salient part
Usually this happens moving from one language to another, like a beer stein when stein literally means stone and, when complete (steinkrug) and in German, referred to a specifically earthenware cup, but we cut off the part that means "cup" and kept the part that means "stone" and then make them out of things other than earthenware
But then there's cases like "edibles" which like. You left out the important part of that phrase and it was already in English? Like. Everything you eat is edible.
