The more I think about it, the more I'm really liking my "Leonardo learns to cook" fic idea

Takes place during the period of time Leonardo is in Japan training with the Ancient One.

Perfect excuse to introduce my 2003!Venus, her little sister Primavera, and their backstory

Feels because while Leonardo is getting better, he's still in the process of recovering from his Season 4 PTSD arc (he's also homesick and missing his brothers and father like hell.)

Food as a metaphor for the comforts of home, familial love, and nostalgia for simpler, more innocent times

Throw in some yokai and demons for the hell of it because this is ninja turtles and it wouldn't be complete without a couple of fight scenes.

Come on, seeing Leonardo awkwardly fumble around in the kitchen would be cute.

Cactus Fruit

Huizaches

 

Shifting from a gardener

to a landscaper

Transitioned to a foreigner

Where people escaped her

 

So I learned how to grow tunas.

Vegetating comestible fruit

My love feeds the roots

Bajo cada luna

Spikes emerge

Stiff and strong

Pink blushes deeper

Until

 

Someone who is courageous enough

Enticed with the fruit’s intensity

Will take a bite

Savor its complexity

And divine difficult plight

That brought it life

 

Simtulating each papillae

For a unique profile

Which another cannot replicate

In soft soils, without smiles.

I'm sorry but a tuna (the fruit not the fish) tastes exactly what I thought and probably what everyone else thinks a dragon fruit tastes like. How did tuna (the fruit) do a better good at tasting like a dragon fruit then an actual dragon fruit?

Why is it so expensive to have a fun low cholesterol diet :( like half the recipes u can find online are like, you should eat a lot of [one of the most expensive types of fishes] and [very expensive fruits and veggies] or [vegan alternatives to meat that are also very expensive and also often hard to find] !!!!!!! the best part about fruits is how different each of them feels. mango is a whirlwind of love and passion. watermelon feels like fun and joy. strawberries are childhood whimsy. pears feel protestant. grapes are luxury and versatility
