I hate when you’re reading an interesting fic and then they through in some stupid subtle anti Jedi thing like ‘Oh the Jedi don’t have mattress because comfort leads to the dark side’ and it’s just like. no the Jedi didn’t do that, don’t be stupid, and so now you just can’t enjoy the fic.

Back panels done, and roughly pinned in place to see how it lays! I was too optimistic with thinking that my 100 squares would be enough for both the front and back 😭 I only have 15 squares (plus one star) left over. Definitely not enough to fill the whole front panel. My guess is I need 50 more for everything including the shoulder strap and sleeve. I'm running out of fabric, plus I need to make 3 more stars for the front! So much left to do!

I was originally gonna put batting and a backing on the dress below the waistline but I'm starting to question that, because I do want the classic quilted look, but it would also make it really heavy...and possibly droopy looking? I'm really not sure. I am open to advice if anyone has some. Idk wtf I'm doing.

I've ordered another sapphire sky layer cake, which is what I've been using--except this time I got one that includes light blues as well, which will be perfect for tying the two halves together with similar fabric patterns. I already have some cool sky fabrics for the daytime side:

A wise friend once asked, "Shen treats his soldiers horribly why are they so loyal to him?"

And to that I propose a personal headcanon that some - most of the wolf soldiers that make up Shen's army joined it post his exile.

Abandoned or lost wolf pups would be taken in and trained to be loyal, skilled and deadly warriors for the exiled Lord's army. While the older and more experienced wolf soldiers would handle majority of the puppy care + training duties, there were times when Shen would have to fill-in. Although never thrilled about the arrangements the lord would nonetheless do his best to care for the pups and bond with some.

However, as the fear of the prophecy becoming true ate more and more away at the Lord Shen's psyche, over time he began to only see his soldiers as any other disposable tools in his quest to prove fate wrong.

Which is just a long fancy way of me saying Shen had to regularly puppysit. He did not enjoy it but grew to tolerate it and I imagine tolerance is Shen's way of showing affection.

for the uninitiated, vide noir is my series for the Shit's Haunted pt ii electric boogaloo (CHTHONIC being pt i electric. fun), which is essentially "coruscant is haunted yes but what if fox is ALSO haunted" you know, for laughs. don't--uhhh don't look at the date of the last update. just don't look at it.*

ANYWAYS THE THIRD PART, currently titled [legato], is going to feature one of my favorite canon-character-but-feels-like-oc guys, feemor retasse (last name and inspiration lovingly borrowed from @deniigi's absolutely WONDERFUL feemor fics). fox may be haunted but that isn't his fucking problem! now? it's feemor's!

There were no more natural water sources, and especially nothing like running water this far down on Coruscant. But Fox could smell it. His shining black armor passed through the water without a ripple. But he could feel the salt-sand grit of it at the back of his mouth. How long had he been half-swimming in the dark like this? The Jedi shook Fox off his tail, then doubled back when Fox was still trying to figure out whether he should keep slogging forward or report back to the Chancellor’s office and swallow the consequences as best he could. He turned back around and the Jedi was there again, behind him now, studying him with a strange twist to his mouth. “Huh,” the Jedi said, straw-pale hair shining faintly in the bioluminescent lamplight from a distant street corner. He still held the hilt of his sword in one hand, but the fingers wrapped around it were lax. “I thought you were—never mind. What can I do for you, trooper?” Fox didn’t answer; the Dream demanded no words of him, which is what he liked best about it. He brought his blaster up and got one, two, three shots off.

They wouldn't all fit on my table for the picture, so some are overlapping. Plus, I added two new stars to the mix:

I think this should be enough to fill the dress pattern piece...and....dare I hope? Also the shoulder strap and sleeve? 😖 I'll need to play tetris to get them to all fit together, plus probably make a couple extra scrappy pieces here and there to fill in the gaps, so I guess I'm not completely done. But I'm happy to finally move on to the next stage. Wish me luck!
