Traveling to Egypt: Your Guide to eVisa and Travel Insurance Essentials
Egypt, a treasure trove of ancient history and breathtaking landscapes, continues to captivate travelers worldwide. If you're planning a visit to this enchanting destination, understanding the essential entry requirements, including obtaining an Egypt eVisa, is crucial. Additionally, securing travel insurance will enhance your travel experience and provide peace of mind. Here’s everything you need to know.
What is the Egypt eVisa?
The Egyptian eVisa is an electronic visa that allows eligible travelers to visit Egypt for tourism or business purposes. This convenient option simplifies the visa application process, making it accessible for citizens from various countries, including Indian passport holders and US citizens. By applying for the eVisa online, you can avoid the long queues at embassies or consulates.
How to Apply for the Egypt eVisa
Visit the Official Egypt eVisa Portal: To begin your application, go to the official Egypt eVisa portal.
Fill Out the Application Form: Provide your personal and travel information accurately to prevent delays in processing.
Upload Required Documents: Typically, you will need to upload a scanned copy of your passport and a recent passport-sized photograph.
Pay the Visa Fee: The fee structure varies depending on your nationality and the type of visa you are applying for. Make sure to check the fee details on the portal.
Receive Your eVisa: After submission, your application will be processed within 72 hours. Once approved, your eVisa will be sent to your email. Be sure to print a copy to carry with you when you arrive in Egypt.
Why Travel Insurance is Crucial
While securing your Egypt eVisa is vital, obtaining travel insurance for Egypt is equally important. Here’s why you shouldn’t overlook this essential step:
Emergency Medical Coverage: Healthcare services in Egypt may differ significantly from what you're used to. Travel insurance ensures you have access to necessary medical care without worrying about high costs.
Cancellation and Interruption Protection: Unexpected events, such as illness or personal emergencies, can lead to trip cancellations. With travel insurance, you can recover non-refundable expenses and avoid financial loss.
Lost or Delayed Luggage Support: If your luggage is lost or delayed, travel insurance provides compensation for essential items, helping you continue your journey with minimal disruption.
Tips for Safe Travel in Egypt
To enjoy a secure and pleasant visit to Egypt, consider the following travel safety tips:
Stay Informed: Keep up with the latest travel advisories and local news during your stay.
Choose Reliable Transportation: Opt for registered taxis or rideshare services to ensure your safety while navigating the city.
Respect Local Customs and Norms: Familiarize yourself with Egyptian customs and dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.
Must-See Attractions in Egypt
Your trip to Egypt wouldn't be complete without visiting its iconic landmarks:
The Great Pyramids of Giza: These ancient structures are a testament to Egypt's rich history and architectural prowess. Be sure to take a guided tour for an in-depth understanding of their significance.
The Valley of the Kings: Explore the burial sites of pharaohs and discover the intricate tomb paintings that tell stories of the past.
The Nile River: A cruise along the Nile offers stunning views and a unique perspective of Egypt’s history.
Conclusion
Traveling to Egypt can be a life-changing experience filled with adventure, history, and culture. However, it is essential to prepare adequately by securing your eVisa to Egypt and obtaining comprehensive travel insurance. By following these guidelines, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey through this fascinating land of pharaohs and ancient wonders. Pack your bags, embark on your adventure, and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Egypt!

Emergency: Help save my children's lives
Dear humanity,
I am Habib from Gaza. I am married and have four children: Menna, 12 years old, Adam, 10 years old (suffering from quadriplegia), Maria, 6 years old, and Ezz, one year old. Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult of all. This is a war of genocide, and the difficulty of the war lies in the inability to meet the needs of my son Adam, who needs special care.
Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies
Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.
Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family
Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children. What hurts me most is my young son Ezz, who I see growing up in an unclean environment and with no healthy food for him. I believe he has not received his right to life.
At this stage, my husband and I decided to go to you and create an account on the Go Fund Me website and ask you to help us in these difficult times until we get out of Gaza, from the land of war to the land of peace. All we need from you is to support us and help us to get out of the war, even if you cannot help. You should spread the word. This campaign is everywhere and among your friends. We thank you for your stance and support for us. Thank you, my friends
The amount that will be collected from this campaign :
We will spend it by paying the amount to coordinate entry through the Rafah land crossing, which connects Gaza to the State of Egypt, since, as I mentioned, they charge an adult $5,000, but depending on the pressures, crises, and waiting, the amount may reach $7,000 per person, and children $2,500 to $4,000.
We will also use it for the rest of the travel and safe transportation expenses to provide for all family members.
A picture of my children's life before the war
A video of my children's lives living the war
May God reward you with all the best and may God bless you
Best wishes with sincere gratitude,
Habib's family

Help Mohamed To Survive and Restore His Life
Hello Everyone... I am Mohamed Mikki From Gaza, Palestine. 24 years old, my life has been difficult since I was young, when I was 17 years old, I lost my father, and with my determination to build my future, I decided to continue my education in the field of multimedia technology and develop my skills through many courses in the same field, and I was working alongside my studies to cover my expenses in the field of graphic design, I was preparing myself to establish my life and future.
My Father:
When I try hard and acheived success in my university college :
When I start my own work:
But the war in Gaza, especially in the north, brought with it a great tragedy, the war destroyed my home, my university, and my work, I was in the north, and I was displaced to the south where I faced famine and moved from one place to another in search of safety.
I have lived countless difficult and painful days during my many attempts to escape death, bombing, and destruction. In my places of displacement that the army says are safe but are never, life has become limited to escaping danger and searching for food among the rubble of destroyed homes.
My dream now is to travel abroad to continue my education, develop my skills, survive, and build my future that has been destroyed, as for the past nine months I have been unemployed due to the war conditions and the power and internet outage since the first day of the war, in addition to the frequent movement from one place to another to escape the war machine, missiles and death, as there was no stability for the absent work conditions.
Here your generosity can make a big difference, your support will help me rebuild my life and continue my education and will provide me with the opportunity to escape the circle of danger and destruction and strive towards a future full of hope and potential.
I humbly ask you to help raise funds to cover the costs of travel, education, and basic expenses as I seek to start a new life, every contribution, no matter how small, brings me a step closer to safety, stability, success, and building a better future.
Breakdown of Expenses
Rafah/Egypt crossing: $5000
Minimum Living Costs: $3000/per month
Egypt/Canada Tickets: $5000
Minimum Living Costs in Canada: $7000/per month

Save Abdulsalam's Father!
Abdulsalam Al-Anqur (found at @aboodanqar20 and @imanfamily2024) and his family have been trapped in Gaza, enduring a genocide for almost a year. Abdulsalam is a husband, and a father to a one year old daughter, Iman. He hopes to evacuate his family to safety in Egypt.
Abdulsalam's goal is even more urgent, as his elderly father, Ahmed Al-Anqur, has been diagnosed with cancer, and requires surgery every 3 months. However, due to the war, being able to get the necessary surgery is extremely unlikely, and far too expensive to afford on their own. Ahmed also needs access to medications which are very hard to obtain in Gaza.
Here are some of the medications Ahmed requires, as well as medical documents Abdulsalam asked me to share.
Right now, Abdulsalam needs funds to care for his family. He needs to purchase food, a good tent to protect against the coming winter cold, and medicine for his father. He also needs to save money so that when the border opens, he and his family can evacuate to Egypt.
The costs for traveling to Egypt are extremely high, and the prices for housing, hospitalization, and housing are massive as well. Abdulsalam needs more money to pay for his father's treatment, but he has only raised a small amount of what he needs.
€2,745 / €50,000
Right now, Abdulsalam has only raised a fraction of his goal. He needs your help get the food, medicine, and safety his family desperately needs. Don't ignore him. Donate, share his campaign, send it to your friends.
Don't be complacent, you can make a difference in this family's lives.

Hello, among the hundreds of tragic stories, I am sharing my painful story.
My name is Ahmed Khalil, I am 6 years old. I was at the beginning of my education, trying to learn, participate, and play with other children. My family consists of 8 members, including my mother and father. My father has diabetes, my brother Fathi is blind, my other brother Abdullah has autism, and my brother Mohammed was injured in his leg by shrapnel from rockets.
On October 7, 2023, the war began and has not stopped since. The airstrikes and Israeli shelling caused fear for me and my family. We could not endure the massive explosions that felt like recurring earthquakes and the red flames sweeping through the area. We were forced to flee to southern Gaza based on orders from the Israeli forces, leaving our beautiful apartments behind. We went to a UN refugee school in Deir al-Balah to escape the terror and death.
We stumbled into a different life full of suffering from every side, living through the most painful hell of war. I developed malnutrition due to contaminated water, poor hygiene, and the spread of infectious diseases with no suitable medicine available.
The situation is catastrophic and unbearable. “There is only death left in Gaza. Even death has become a privilege because it provides a sense of relief.” My older brother Mohammed and I begged our father to leave Gaza, but it was extremely difficult due to the high costs. My father lost all his property during the war, including his electronics repair center and apartment, which were completely destroyed, so he has nothing to help us travel out of Gaza. There is no safe place in the Gaza Strip.
I pray every moment for the end of this war and a ceasefire. The ceasefire is not just a call; it is a desperate cry to end the helplessness and despair spreading to every corner after more than 11 months of war. We flee from death every day, only to wake up the next morning to try to escape it again. My heart is heavy, unable to bear the recurring nightmares, and the overwhelming flood of news about blood, displacement, loss, and despair pouring from Gaza.
Every minute feels like a struggle. No one should have to endure this injustice, segregation, and discrimination. The ongoing shelling in southern Gaza and the intense bombardment of residential buildings in Deir al-Balah make everyone feel unsafe, believing they might be the next to face tragedy. Communications are cut off. We are exhausted and cannot bear more tragedies and losses. We are currently living in a classroom of the UN center, which is crowded with people, including my relatives and cousins. My poor father sees our pale faces and weak bodies and stands helpless due to the lack of money and resources.
I am still six years old, and I never thought I would witness such a brutal attack with complete disregard for human values. I am deprived of my basic rights, including health and education. I need to rebuild my life with my family abroad and receive better healthcare. Traveling to Egypt would cost at least $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child, which is an enormous amount given the harsh living conditions and the blockade that has lasted for 17 years.
Therefore, I ask you to donate so that we can evacuate Gaza to safety. Please continue supporting our campaign by donating if you can and sharing it with your friends and family. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us get closer to our next goal and brings us nearer to securing a safer future for my family.

My father died, and I am the main provider for my family.
Before the war, I worked with international companies in motion graphics,
specializing in character design and storyboarding.
The conflict forced us into repeated evacuations, and our home suffered damage, including the theft and destruction of my essential art equipment and tablet. Each stolen piece held not just monetary value but years of dedication and creativity and hard work. We are left HOMELESS, UNSAFE, SICK with VERY LITTLE FINANCIAL SECURITY!
Our family consists of:
• My mother, 62 years old.
• My sister Mai, 35 years old, who is also visually impaired.
• Myself,Mahasen, 31 years old.
• My brother Mohammed, 28 years old, who is visually impaired.
• My brother's wife Iman, 28 years old.
• My youngest brother Amin, 21 years old.
Your support is crucial as I rebuild what was lost. Your contribution will help replace my tools and restore hope and creativity. And mainly for my family's safety, ability to survive the current situation and community.
Together, we can affirm that art is more than expression,
it is a lifeline that connects us and enlighten even the darkest moments.
Expenses Needed:
• Travel arrangements to Egypt ( $5000 per person ) for 6 family members.
• Living expenses to survive the current situation in Gaza.
• Buying art equipment and tablet to recover what I've lost and be able to work again.
• Living and transportation expenses during the initial period of travel.
• Food and medical expenses.
Every donation counts! Your support makes a real difference for my family and me.

Help me get my life back, achieve my goal, and save the rest of my family
Education, which was young Tulin's passion, now seems like a distant memory, as there is no school, no home, and no safe place. The war has forced us to abandon our dreams and our work. Life as we knew it has stopped, swallowed up by a sea of uncertainty, loss and despair
• My daughter Tulane is a radiant ray of sunshine, bringing joy, warmth and boundless love to everyone she meets. She has been through many health ailments.
• My middle daughter, Wateen, who is five years old, suffered a broken leg as a result of escaping during the aggression against the area surrounding us. Wateen suffers from osteomalacia and poor growth. I hope that this incident will not be repeated and that I will not see anything bad about it
• This is our house, full of our memories and moments of joy and happiness, which has now turned into ruins. His destruction
broke our hearts
Despite the darkness that surrounds us, a ray of hope appears in our hearts - a longing to seek refuge in the embrace of safety, and to find solace in a land untouched by the scourges of war. Egypt beckons to us as a beacon of hope, promising safe haven and the opportunity to rebuild our shattered lives. However, the path to freedom is fraught with obstacles, and we are unable to afford the journey that might lead us to a new beginning.
My family and I are looking forward to evacuating to Egypt, but as you know, a lot of money is needed to pay for the coordination costs in order to cross the border, and we still need money to get the total amount required so that we can travel.
With each passing day, our burdens grow heavier, and our pleas for help become more urgent. We long for the warmth of a safe haven, an opportunity to regain what we have lost and forge a path to a brighter future
My family and I are about to embark on this journey of hope, but we cannot do it alone. Our situation is dire, and we need your support to rebuild our lives and provide a future for our children. Your kindness and generosity can make a big difference. Your contributions will help us provide safe shelter, access to medical care, and the basic necessities of life and we humbly appeal to you, kind souls, to extend your helping hand. Your generosity may pave the way for us to escape this nightmare, and give us a chance to start over
Please, consider helping us during these critical times. Every donation, regardless of size, brings us one step closer to safety, stability and the opportunity to rebuild our lives
With gratitude from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for every donation, every engagement, and every ounce of compassion you provide to our cause. Your support means more than words can express. Together, we can turn our story of loss into a journey of hope and resilience.

🚨TIME-SENSITIVE!!!
@moatazart is a graphic design artist and self-taught journalist living in north Gaza. He has supported our blog with updates directly from Gaza City, and both our page and the Tumblr community owe him an enormous debt for risking his life to share the truth.
Moataz, his wife Maryam, and their baby girl Maria were attempting to evacuate to Egypt following the destruction of their home and the siege of Al-Shifa Medical Complex that trapped them for weeks. They hoped to get to safety in Egypt, and find work so they could raise the funds needed to return to Gaza and rebuild their home. However, the day before they were set to travel, the occupation illegally seized control of Rafah crossing. The crossing is now closed and it is not known when it will reopen.
Moataz and his family are now trying to raise funds to rebuild their home after it was destroyed by lOF bombardment. They will not be able to raise the required funds on their own if they cannot reach Egypt, so they need our support in order to rebuild their home.
Let's help Moataz @moatazart and his family with the second stage of their campaign to rebuild their home in Gaza City! This portion of the campaign has LESS THAN 2 WEEKS REMAINING! Please reblog this post, check Moataz’s blog, and repost the link to your own social media.
Thank you

🇵🇸🍉🥺Please do not ignore my family's suffering
🚨🚨🚨
My name is Khalil from the Gaza Strip. I am speaking to you with a heart aching from the bitterness of losing my mother who was killed by an Israeli sniper while she was displaced in a camp for the displaced in the northern Gaza Strip. She left me and my younger siblings to suffer from hunger, deprivation and loss. Our home in the northern Gaza Strip was destroyed and with it our memories and dreams were destroyed.
My brother Mohammed and my brother Moayad were seriously injured and need urgent medical care.
Please help us and donate to save us from the Gaza Strip and travel to Egypt, as well as to find something to eat and drink in these difficult days.
At this moment as I write to you, we are suffering the woes of displacement and homelessness where there is no safety, no food and no medicine.
Your contribution, no matter how small, is enough to put a smile on our children's faces and buy medicine and food.
I also ask you to share my appeal and campaign so that it reaches everyone

My name is Israa Abu Jazar, I am 23 years old, married to Nidal, 24, and mother of a one-year-old son: Ahmad. I am reaching out to you in a desperate plea for help. Until October 7th, we were living a peaceful and happy life in Gaza, but the beginning of the war in Gaza turned our world upside down, leaving us in a state of utter despair. As a result of the war, we lost everything: our home, our possessions, and even our basic necessities. The situation in Gaza has deteriorated rapidly, leaving us without electricity, water, and adequate food supplies. We were forced to leave our (now destroyed) home under fire with nothing but our passports and some clothes. The area we lived in was completely destroyed and now we are struggling to meet our most basic needs. My family is currently living in a two-meter-high tent without basic necessities. I am reaching out to you, my dear friends, with a humble request for support. We are in dire need of $5,000 per person to evacuate my family from Gaza and find safety elsewhere. This amount will cover transportation costs, temporary shelter and provide us with the means to start over and continue my children’s education. We have exhausted all our resources and tried to pool our savings to escape Gaza, but this is simply not enough to cover the costs of leaving for all of us. These costs include transportation and basic necessities, which we cannot afford. Travel expenses include:
• Gazans are required to pay $5,000 for each adult allowed into Egypt, and $2,500 for each child.
• Rent ($400 per month)
• Clothing
• Food
• Shopping expenses
I realize that times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, no matter how small, can make a huge impact on our lives. Your support will not only help us escape the genocide taking place in Gaza, but it will also give my family the opportunity to rebuild our lives and find stability in Egypt.
Your generosity and kindness can make a huge difference in my family’s life during this difficult time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your concern and support for our cause.
With gratitude,

Don't skip just read this please
Hi world , it’s Sahar
Please read this as if I'm a member of your family . maybe your sister, daughter or a friend and as if my family who's under death now is yours.
My name is Sahar. A marketer shopping from Gaza, athe dreams she worked for but found herself losing the city she’s living in and losing any hope of a better future with it . And after a whole 4 years of studying and internship, the war had another idea.
I have 4 children: Hala the oldest, Rital, Odi, and Talin. We had a house full of love, dreams, and hopes that we strive to achieve one by one, but the war came and destroyed everything. We strive to travel outside Gaza to preserve our lives and obtain safety.
. In 15th of January 2024 my son Odai has An injury in his leg byShooting from a quadcopter aircraft in a shelter belonging to the UN Relief Agency
This loss circle didn’t end here, cause after more than 5 times of being displaced and having to leave our house escaping from rockets and death, we returned to our house and found it almost wiped off, more than half if it was destroyed and became an unlivable place leaving us not only with tired hearts but also without a place to stay in
Our Home
We are suffering in the UNRWA shelter center from overcrowding, the spread of diseases, pollution, and the difficulty of obtaining water and entering the bathroom due to the large number present in the place. It has been a year since this suffering.
Look what this horrible war has done to us. It has turned our lives upside down. It is hard for your mind to imagine. You were living in a villa with all your necessities and luxury items available until the war transferred you to live in a school for more than 13 months. We saw death 100 times a minute. I have attached pictures of the suffering of living in the school.
The situation after almost 13 months of this genocide is that the borders of Gaza are still unfortunately closed and no one can get out of it, of course unless you pay the most money to save your life and cross the Rafah crossing to reach Egypt, as crossing the Rafah crossing costs about $25,00 to $5,000 per person, and as a family of 9, the amount we have to pay just to get to Egypt seems impossible to bear.
So, this is how the money will be spent:
* Paying about $5,000 for each member of my family of 9 to cross the Rafah crossing and safely reach Egypt
* About $5,000 covers the GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction)
* The rest of the money will be for housing, food, etc. for a period of time in Egypt
Asking for your help is the only way to save my family’s life and future, and your help may become our hope when hope is far from us under these circumstances, every dollar you can help with may save a life, bring hope to a tired heart and save a young future.
Please don't read this as a tragedy, I am here to ask you to prevent further tragedy and help us start our lives over. I am here to ask for your help not your sympathy, to ask you to take action either by donating or by sharing this with everyone you know who can help, please read this with your heart and take action as if it were your family, your mother and your siblings who are living in these circumstances.
Here is the donation link. Don't be stingy with me, even if it is a little. You will have contributed to preserving the lives of my family. With best wishes.

@fahedshehab051/@fahedshehab9/@danashehab: €40,063/€50,000 (80%). fundraiser here, verified by @/el-shab-hussein here. 14-year-old Sahar is raising money to evacuate her parents, grandmother, and 4 younger siblings. less than €10,000 to go!
@mahmoud-sharif: $6,841/$60,000 (11%). fundraiser here, reblogged by @/90-ghost here. Mahmoud's wife, Soha, has just given birth to their fourth child, and they are hoping to evacuate Gaza to give that child a life outside of a war zone and to receive urgent medical care for injuries. their fundraiser also has initial verification information.
@mazenmanal: €1,554/€100,000 (1.6%). fundraiser here, verified by @apollos-olives here. Mazen is a young child who has been severely injured and needs medical treatment. The Al-Mansi family is in desperate need of food and medication. i have also spoken with Feras, Mazen’s father, who has told me how dire the situation is, please donate to and boost this campaign as much as possible.
@olagaza: $30,874/$50,000 (62%). fundraiser here, #205 on @/nabulsi and @/el-shab-hussein's spreadsheet. Ola is a graduate student who began teaching seventh grade math to students in Gaza in August 2023, less than two months before the war constant bombings began. donating helps provide her and her family with basic necessities.
@karamrafeek: €13,100/€20,000 (65.5%). fundraiser here, verified by @/nabulsi here. Karam's mother is ill and the two of them must travel to Egypt in order to get her the care she needs and escape the devastation in Gaza. in addition, Karam hopes to return to his studies that were interrupted by the bombings and displacement.
@dinamahammed99: $3,031/$6,000 (50.5%). fundraiser here. Dina is the sister of @mahmoud1995 (proof here), whose campaign has been vetted by @/90-ghost here. Dina is looking for aid in getting basic needs such as milk and food for her children, one of whom is only three months old and was born amid the bombing. they are currently living in a tent with no medical care and subject to extreme weather and pests.
@mahmoud1995: $11,249/$50,000 (22%). fundraiser here, reblogged by @/90-ghost here. Dina's sister Mahmoud is hoping to evacuate Rafah with his fiancee Sujood alongside his brother Mohammed, his wife, and their 1 and a half year old son.
@bilalassadabedrabou: €7,535/€80,000 (9%). fundraiser here, verified by @/90-ghost here. Bilal has survived five wars, and is now hoping to evacuate through the Rafah crossing to Egypt with his family. in addition to the money it costs to evacuate, Bilal is also looking for money to help complete his studies.
@tahseenkhazen: $9,446/$25,000 (37.8%). fundraiser here, reblogged by @/90-ghost here. Tahseen has lost his house and his business in the bombing. He and his wife are struggling to feed their three young children, including one who has celiac and cannot eat many things, and are no doubt barely eating themselves. the money from this fundraiser will go towards food and water.
Namer Matar: €2,030/€20,000 (10%). fundraiser here, shared by @/el-shab-hussein here. Namer's wife gave birth to twins during the war, but due to the poor conditions and scarce access to medical care, they became sick. one of them, Zakaria, unfortunately passed away, but his brother Ali is still fighting for survival. In addition, Ali is lactose intolerant and Namer struggles to find milk for him. evacuating Gaza is a matter of life and death for Ali.

hi! i'd like to take a moment today to spotlight the campaign of my friend Firas (@firasmuhaisenn), who's graciously shared his and his family's story with me.
last year, Firas and his sister traveled to Egypt to pursue their long-held dream of becoming doctors. however, at the end of their first year of university, they're now bearing a twofold responsibility: bringing their family of six (including three children) to safety outside of Gaza, and financing the remainder of their education.
the Muhaisen family, like so many others, have lost everything over the last ten months of genocide. the construction company Firas's father once owned was destroyed by airstrikes, leaving them with no livelihood, and no means to pay for continuing Firas and his sister's education. displaced and with no access to adequate food, water, or medical care, the family is struggling to survive.
to preserve their dream and ensure the next year of their education, Firas and his sister need to raise $6000 CAD by August 1st ($3000 CAD per year x 2 people). combined with three more years of school and evacuation costs for their family, they will need $82k CAD. right now, they have raised around $2300 CAD—less than 5% of their long-term goal.
however, their current amount is only ~$3700 CAD away from covering their university fees for next year (and only $700 CAD from halfway!). to put it another way, if every day this week about 100 people who see this post donate $5 CAD, we could get Firas and his sister to their short-term target by next monday, allowing them to focus primarily on evacuating their family.
if you're in a position to donate, do so in whatever capacity you can; if you don't have the means, share this post or one from Firas (or his siblings @nisreenameen and @hashem-fromgaza) with someone in your life who does or to your online community. let's help Firas and his family to reach their goal as quickly as possible!
(Firas's campaign has been verified by @/90-ghost)

Hello, my name is Saif, a Palestinian living in Jordan, and I am reaching out for your support to help my dear friend, Hazem Tannera. Hazem is from Gaza, and his family of 10 is currently facing unimaginable hardships. While Hazem managed to escape to Cairo this past April, he could not afford to bring his entire family with him.
-Who We Are Supporting
Hazem’s full name is Hazem Tannera, and he is currently residing in Cairo, Egypt. His family, including his parents, Majdi Ali Tannera (Hazem’s Dad) and Amal Shaban Tannera (Hazem’s Mom), and his siblings, are still in Gaza. The family consists of 10 people, including 3 children. I am committed to helping him bring his family to safety. Here are the names of Hazem’s family members:
• Majdi Ali Tannera (Hazem’s Dad)
• Amal Shaban Tannera (Hazem’s Mom)
• Ahmad Majdi Tannera
• Sameera Alaa Abu Dalal
• Majdi Ahmad Tannera (child)
• Suzan Majdi Tannera
• Fadi Esam Thraia
• Esam Fadi Thraia (child)
• Mohammed Majdi Tannera
• Nada Majdi Tannera (child)
-Why It’s Important
The situation in Gaza is dire, and Hazem’s family is enduring extreme challenges daily. The constant threat to their safety and well-being is a harsh reality they cannot escape. Hazem’s parents, in particular, are in desperate need of assistance to relocate to a safer place, whether in Cairo or another refuge. Every day they remain in Gaza, their lives are at risk, and the urgency to get them to safety is immense.
-How the Funds Will Be Used
To ensure Hazem’s parents and younger siblings can escape the danger they face, we need to cover the high costs of crossing the border. Here’s the financial breakdown:
• Adult border crossing fee: $5,000 per person
• Child border crossing fee (under 15 years old): $2,500 per child
The only way to travel out of Gaza is by crossing the Rafah border into Egypt, as Gaza has no airport. Unfortunately, crossing the border comes at an exorbitant cost, with $5,000 required for each adult and $2,500 for each child under 15 years old. This money goes entirely to the company and authorities on the Egyptian side – none of it benefits Hazem’s family. It’s a heartbreaking reality where people profit from the suffering of others.
In addition to covering these fees, the funds will also be used to help Hazem’s family get started once they reach safety, providing for their basic needs as they transition to a new life.
Hazem has tried everything in his power to work and gather the necessary funds to bring his family to Cairo, but paying for 10 people is an extremely difficult task. Despite his relentless efforts, the financial burden is overwhelming.
-How the Funds Will Be Transferred
Once the funds are raised, they will be transferred directly to Hazem’s bank account. Hazem will then use the funds to pay the border crossing fees for his family members and to help them get started in their new location. I will oversee the process to ensure that all funds are used appropriately and as intended.
-Conclusion
Your generosity can change the course of Hazem’s family’s life. No amount is too small, and every donation is deeply appreciated. Please, open your hearts and help us bring Hazem’s family to safety. Together, we can offer them a chance at a better life and a brighter future.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
