CRITICAL EMERGENCY!!! 15 y/o girl needs heart surgery!!!!

Earlier this month, we made a post asking for your support in attaining 15 year-old Nour’s monthly treatment for her congenital heart condition. Unfortunately, the funds raised came too late. Nour’s health took a dramatic downturn yesterday, and the doctor said that because she had gone so long between monthly treatments, several of Nour’s heart valves have closed up. She now requires an urgent operation to save her heart.

NOUR WILL DIE WITHOUT THIS SURGERY!! She is dying right now because her heart is struggling to function! She needs this surgery IMMEDIATELY to save her young life!!

The doctor said the surgery will cost $8000 USD. Nour’s family’s GFM is in Canadian dollars, or CAD, of which the conversion rate to USD is $1 USD=$1.41 CAD. This means we need $11,300 CAD in donations in order to pay the equivalent of $8000 USD for her surgery.

We NEED to raise the funds ASAP so Nour has a chance at survival!! We are breaking this sum up into 2 smaller goals to be more attainable. Our first goal to save Nour’s life is to raise $4000 USD/$5656 CAD.

Hi, I would like to tell you guys about this family who has just reached for me to help, this is Mohammed Al Munasira from Dir Al-Balah in Gaza, A father of three, Abdualrahman, Sarah and Lynn, he and his wife and his kids are the only survivors from their big family who used to be with his parents and his sisters. And they are in actual need to save their children.

Mohammed has a respiratory disease and he is struggling to get the treatment he needs.

The infected place, in tents that do not protect us from anything, neither the cold of winter nor the heat of summer. We have been here for months, among the filth and sewage. My children are sick and suffer from wasting, hepatitis, and many other complications, skin and respiratory diseases. We cannot obtain food or medicine. There is no water for cleaning or bathing.There is no place to shower, we literally live in filth!! Diseases and epidemics, what is our fault in all of this? Do we have to face all this to survive death? To die slowly every day? From hunger, thirst, illness, fatigue, or even from depression and fear! My children long for their warm bed and our beautiful home, but now they have turned to ashes, missing their schools, their friends, and their most basic rights as children! They miss their forgotten childhood among tents and water lines, searching for food or killing harmful insects that attack them throughout the day!

Meet Mohammed

Mohammed @mohammedalhabil2000 lives with his mother Ibtisam, his sisters Noha, Abeer, and Nour. They are a loving family, but have had more than their fair share of struggles. Mohammed’s father was martyred by the occupation in its 2014 aggression. Ibtisam and Omar, Mohammed’s older brother, supported the family themselves for many years. Then, in December 2023, Omar was martyred by the occupation while he and Mohammed were out gathering firewood. Mohammed was severely injured in the same attack.

This was not the last time Mohammed was injured by IOF violence. Mohammed has been injured on four separate occasions, resulting in his left leg being critically wounded. He had to have a full cast put on, rendering him unable to move any part of his leg.

He undergoes regular physiotherapy when it is safe enough to travel to the clinic, but unfortunately this is not enough to heal his wound. Mohammed is going to require intense, specialized treatment in order to fully heal his leg and regain as full of function as possible. Due to the occupation’s systematic destruction of Gaza’s medical infrastructure, this cannot be done in Gaza.

Mohammed will need to travel abroad to treat his leg, which will be a complex and expensive proposition. Just passing from Gaza into Egypt costs thousands of dollars, not to mention the costs of lodging, food, medication, and medical appointments. He is trying to raise funds so that when the border reopens, he will be able to arrange passage into Egypt, and begin his journey to fully healing.

His family is already struggling to survive, relying on mutual aid for food and other basic necessities. They lost their home due to IOF attack, and none of them are able to work. This means Mohammed has no way to pay for his travel and treatment costs without your support.

On the Edge of Danger🍉

As I was getting ready for a new day in Gaza, a leaflet carrying an urgent warning from the Israeli army reached me. The warning mentioned military operations and called on residents to evacuate immediately. I looked at the map on the leaflet and saw the boundaries of the shaded area they were talking about. I lived on the edge of that area.

Questions began flooding my mind: Am I safe? Should I leave now or stay and monitor the situation? At that moment, I felt the weight of the decision. Although the warning was clear, I had always lived on this fine line between safety and danger. It wasn’t just a decision about movement, it was a decision about daily life, about safety, about survival.

But there was another burden weighing me down. I didn’t have enough money to rent a tent or even cover the cost of transport to a safer place. Even if I decided to leave, where would I go? Where would I sleep? In Gaza, the options are very limited, and the harsh economic conditions force us into impossible choices. How can someone leave when they don’t even have enough for the first step outside their door?

Communicating with neighbors wasn’t any easier. Some decided to leave immediately, while others, like me, were unsure. Families here have a long history of staying despite everything, adapting to circumstances no matter how hard they were. But this time, the situation was different. The map in my hand was warning me directly.

As time passed, I began preparing for all possibilities. I gathered some essentials and braced myself for any emergency. But deep down, I was hesitant. This home was all I knew, and every memory I had was etched into its walls. Leaving wasn’t just a practical decision; it was an emotional one as well. And as the warnings increased, the fear of tomorrow grew even more. How can I move when the circumstances don’t even allow me to escape?
