Trump goes full dictator

Trump has broken faith with the Constitution. He is no longer operating within the pale of the law. On Monday, January 27, Trump dropped all pretense of being a “president” within the meaning of Article II of the US Constitution and began wielding power for his own benefit and without regard for constitutional restrictions.

In two lawless actions on Monday, the acting US Attorney for DC announced an internal investigation into DOJ prosecutors who investigated and indicted January 6 insurrectionists. And the Acting Attorney General fired more than a dozen prosecutors who worked on the investigations and indictments of Donald Trump.

It is clear that Trump has ordered the Department of Justice to seek vengeance against career prosecutors who acted with integrity and professionalism in prosecuting Trump and those who assaulted the Capitol on January 6.

The notion of any president directing the DOJ to make prosecutorial judgments has been unthinkable under post-Watergate legal norms. However, the notion of a president directing prosecutorial decisions of the DOJ to further his own political interest is antithetical to core principles of the Constitution. The president’s swears an oath to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States”—no part of which involves elevating his personal interests above those of the nation.

In a separate action taken late Monday evening, Trump ordered a freeze on all federal grants and loans (by way of a memo from the acting head of the OMB). (Per the WSJ, the order directs all agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal.”)

Trump's order from the OMB violates the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. Trump doesn’t care. Neither do congressional Republicans. And the ruse that the pauses are “temporary” does nothing to diminish the fact that impoundments are illegal and unconstitutional.

The impoundment of appropriated funds is a constitutional crisis on a fast track to the Supreme Court. For an excellent discussion, see Steve Vladeck, One First (Substack), The Impoundment Crisis of 2025. (I will return to this topic in later editions of this newsletter, but Vladeck covers the subject in detail.)

While some presidents have secretly used the FBI, IRS, and DOJ to investigate their political foes, no president in the history of our nation has publicly ordered the DOJ to investigate his perceived political enemies, much less fire them.

It is time for the institutions fighting for democracy to drop the niceties and begin calling Trump for what he is: a dictator. Many institutions are still treating Trump as though he is a “normal” president, albeit one subject to making impulsive, ignorant statements. Criticizing his actions is not enough. The story of his first week is not that “Trump has shaken things up,” or that he is “flooding the zone.” It is that Trump has begun to ignore the law at whim.

It is also time for the legal profession to speak out. The members of the bar who are facilitating lawless actions must be subject to public condemnation and formal reproval. The leaders of the bar have a special obligation to speak out. They must serve notice on attorneys everywhere that there will be reputational, professional, and licensing repercussions for taking positions that violate the Constitution or deliberately flout the law. The revolving door at Big Law must be closed to attorneys who enable dictatorial actions antithetical to the Constitution and the rule of law.

Trump is unable to act like a dictator unilaterally. He needs the consent, acquiescence, and apathy of enough people to frustrate the normal operation of constitutional and legal checks and balances.

We must not grant that assistance to Trump. We must resist. We must say in plain language that he is acting like a dictator who holds himself above the law. Whether he gets away with the audacious gambit is up to the people from whom all constitutional power flows. Let’s make our voices heard!

Trump's firing of career prosecutors is illegal.

On Monday, the termination of a dozen federal prosecutors also broke the law—because the long-term staffers were part of the federal civil service. As such, they can only be fired for cause. But the statement from the Acting Attorney General said that they were being fired because the AG “did not trust them to implement the president’s agenda.” See CNN, Toobin: Some Trump DOJ firings may be illegal.

If you watch the CNN link above, one of the CNN commentators (Alyssa Farah Griffin) suggests that the firings “won’t raise a lot of eyebrows among Republicans because he did say he was going to do this.”

To be clear, Trump saying on the campaign trail he was going to do something that is illegal does not make it any less illegal. And Republicans should “raise their eyebrows” when the president acts in an illegal manner. But Alyssa Farah Griffin has apparently left her sense of outrage at the studio door—which is why CNN (a.k.a. Fox Lite) may be the next legacy media outlet to go out of business.

Trump's asserted reason for mass deportations is false

Trump claims that 10 million immigrants must be deported because they are violent criminals who continue to commit crimes while in the US awaiting deportation. Predictably, the sweeps have caught up a significant number of immigrants who have not committed crimes. See NBC News, ICE agents search for those with criminal histories but say 'collateral arrests' are possible.

Per NBC,

However, just 613 of the 1,179 people arrested Sunday — nearly 52% — were considered “criminal arrests,” a senior Trump administration official said. The rest appear to be nonviolent offenders or people who have not committed any criminal offense.

The fact that 48% of those arrested on Sunday did not have criminal records for violence demonstrates the ICE agents are making indiscriminate arrests to play to the television cameras. Indeed, the Trump administration advised ICE agents to make themselves “presentable” to be filmed on television. As I wrote yesterday, Trump has moved beyond “Cruelty is the point” to “Cruelty is entertainment for Trump's base.”

Trump's mass deportation policies are spreading fear throughout immigrant communities—including those gathering in places of worship. A group of Quaker affiliated plaintiffs filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for allowing raids to take place in sensitive places, including “houses of worship.” See MSN, Quakers challenge Trump order allowing immigration raids at religious sites.

Trump signs order clearing path to banning transgender people in the military

As expected, Trump has signed an order requiring the Pentagon to explain why transgender people advance the military’s stated objective of being “ready for deployment” in thirty days. See CBS News, Trump signs executive orders on military DEI, trans service members, COVID.

Per the CBS article,

The president also signed an executive order directing the Pentagon to determine a policy for transgender service members based on readiness within 30 days. The action does not immediately ban transgender service members, however, it does state that the Defense Department's policy for troop readiness is "inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria."

The executive order is a ruse designed to give the Pentagon a reason to reverse its current policy of allowing transgender people to serve in the military. One estimate places the number of transgender people in the military at 15,000.

The policy is not only depraved, but it will also weaken the military’s preparedness. The US military has been in a recruiting crisis for years because most recruits fail to meet the physical or educational standards required for enlistment. Per Military.com,

[T]he Army's struggles have mostly been attributed to young Americans not qualifying for service, either failing to meet body fat or academic standards.

To meet the recruiting crisis, the Army has instituted “preparedness boot camps” that work with recruits to get them into physical shape and to help them pass the Army’s SAT-style entrance exam. Again, per Military.com,

The idea is to meet young Americans where they are, getting them into shape or providing them critical tutoring for the SAT-style entrance exam as test scores in schools have been falling for years, particularly for boys.

Against the recruiting crisis backdrop, forcing transgender people out of the military who have already met the military’s physical and educational requirements is just plain stupid—in addition to being illegal and morally wrong.

And then there is the hypocrisy. The executive order asserted that being a transgender person is inherently at odds with “a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life.” See Erin in the Morning (Substack), Trump Military Ban Says Being Trans Conflicts With "Honorable, Truthful, Disciplined Lifestyle".

As noted by Erin in the Morning, the impending transgender ban will be implemented by Pete Hegseth, who has a demonstrated history of sexual assault, serial infidelity, alcohol abuse, misogyny, and Islamophobia. And let’s not forget about the Commander-in-Chief, who paid off a porn star with whom he had a sexual encounter while the current First Lady was at home with the infant Trump, and who lost a civil defamation case in which the jury found Trump had sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.

Concluding Thoughts

Trump's order freezing all federal grants and loans raises an existential question for our constitutional republic. Under Trump's theory of the case, Congress appropriates funds, and then Trump can spend the money however he pleases without regard to the painstaking budgeting process undertaken by Congress.

In the enumeration of congressional powers in Article I, the Constitution states:

No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law

The Constitution thus grants Congress the power to appropriate money. Trump wants to arrogate that power unto himself by declaring that he can withhold money appropriated by Congress and—this is implied—use that money for some other purpose.

If the Supreme Court were to accept Trump's theory, it would amount to a wholesale restructuring of the Constitution and of our republic.

Here’s my point: Trump's claim that he has the power to override congressional appropriations is like his claim that he can abolish birthright citizenship: It is specious, risible, ridiculous, fatuous, and ignorant. If the Supreme Court were to uphold Trump's claim, the Court would effectively guarantee that it would be neutered at the first opportunity—either by enlargement, term limits, or limitation of its appellate jurisdiction.

For the second time in a week, Trump has overreached so badly that he has essentially ensured that he will lose in the Supreme Court. So, as we endure the chaos that will be created by his nearly incomprehensible order, we should be confident that Trump has gone too far, even for this compromised, corrupt, ethically challenged Supreme Court.

This was already a bad day. Radím could feel something was off from the moment he woke up. He felt tense this whole week, but… when was the last time he felt any different in this never ending nightmare.

To make matters worse it seemed like Erhardt got up on the wrong side of bed too. And, as always, he made it Radíms problem. Any other day he would’ve just absorbed it, finished his chores quickly and disapear from his owners sight.

But not today.

Radím felt anger bubbling within his veins. Despite his best efforts, his owner didn’t let him catch a breath. The air was stiff and the collar around his neck felt like a noose. He learned very soon to just bite his tongue and do as he’s told, the consequences of a slightest disobedience were visible for weeks. Radím didn't want to get beaten again, knowing  just how much Günther loved every oportunity to hurt him and even more so putting his handiwork on display for everyone to see. A gallery of bad choices.

Another round of degrading remarks showered Radím like an acid rain. With the last insult ringing in his ears, Radíms eyes clouded with rage. For a brief moment he lost control and a quiet curse slipped pass his clenched teeth.

A wave of relief washed over him, that single speckle of rebellion made him feel like he still didn't loose his personhood.

His bliss was cut short by panicked yelp as Erhardt grabbed his collar and yanked him back. Radíms heart raced as he was forced to meet his owners gaze, the dark eyes bore into his, sending shivers down his spine. Slight twitch of Günthers nose hinted what emotions were lurking under the unexpresive mask.

The boys blood froze as he heard a sentence in perfect Czech.

'Zopakuj to.' (say that again)

Life flashed before Radíms eyes, his tiny heart hammered against his ribcage like a captured bird. His voice got caught in his throat, paralysed by the suffocating doom.

The boys train of thought was violently stopped and so was his ability to breathe. With a cruel twist of a wrist Günther hoisted him up by the collar. Radím was forced to his tiptoes, desperately trying to alleviate some pressure crushing his windpipe.

Erhardt sneered at the sight of his pet trashing like a fish out of water, frantically clawing onto the leather collar in desperate attempt to free himself. Radím dug his nails into the hand holding his collar, trying to pry it away, which only prompted Erhardt to lift him up a bit more.

Radíms feet barely touched the ground, his hands clenched the leather mercilessly constricted around his neck. Darkness creeping from the corners of his eyes only accelerated the boys panic. Tiny blips of light danced around his vision as he struggled against the iron grip of his cruel master.

The room was filled with sounds of choking and gurgling. After a solid minute, a dull thud echoed through the concrete walls, shortly followed by violent cough and laboured wheezing.

Radíms attempt to get off the ground was met with a forceful kick in the ribs. The boy whined like a dog as sharp pain shot through his body. He wanted to crawl away but Erhardt quickly stomped on the leash, preventing any further escape attempts.

'Worthless rat.'

Radim was forced back to the cold floor by the crushing weight of Günters military boot on his back. He squirmed under the weight of the man menacingly looming over him.

‚…ungrateful vermin.‘

The malice seeping from his masters words made the young man tremble. Radíms eyes widened in horror when he heard a distinct click of Günters thick belt coming undone.

Captain America is Anti-Totalitarian

So a long time ago there was a comic where Captain America punched Adolf Hitler. It was a very iconic cover. Then later they had Captain America fight Commies. Marvel and Stan Lee were ahead of their time, opposing totalitarianism. Both Nazism and Communism are totalitarian ideologies.

This is the kind of forward thinking that I had embraced for years now, since I have a better understanding of why both ideologies are bad and why totalitarianism has to be condemned. Unfortunately there are people who still support Nazism and Communism to this day. Neither side has a complete understanding of how evil both Hitler and Stalin were back then.

Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were mass murderers and evil dictators. Concentration Camps and Gulags were basically the same thing. Hence why I see both the Nazi and Commie symbols as the same, because they both represent evil. You got 4 Chan incels claiming that "Hitler did nothing wrong". Which is just like saying "Stalin did nothing wrong" or "P.Diddy did nothing wrong". You got Leftists morons claiming that "Stalinism wasn't real Communism". Which is just like saying "Hitlerism wasn't real Nazism" or "Nazism wasn't real socialism". You know how ridiculous that sounds?

Anyone defending totalitarian ideologies and evil dictators are complete morons. Anyways someone at Marvel seen how bad both ideologies are, they had their head on straight. Unlike today's society where you have incels and idiots embracing Nazism or Communism. You even have people believing that two political parties (DemoKKKrats and Republicans) can switch sides! That's like saying there was a party switch between Nazis and Commies. That is completely ridiculous because parties don't switch sides, people do.

For example the majority of Republicans still claim to be the party of Lincoln, they also reject the idea of the party switch. You got DemoKKKrats who are still pro-assassination attempts and wanting John Wilkes Booth to assassinate Trump. Yeah, the same guy who murdered Lincoln. That guy. Then of course you got Antifa pulling the same crap that the KKK were doing back then, being masked and getting away with their crimes thanks to the help of DemoKKKrats.

So if neither side wants to take responsibility for what DemoKKKrats did back then, then I think it's safe to say that there was no party switch. Parties can change their attitudes, but they can't switch sides nor can they erase their own past. Whether the DemoKKKrats want to admit to it or not, they were the party who created the KKK and were pro-slavery. Even today DemoKKKrats are still represented by the rich and powerful (Big Tech, Big Pharma, the Entertainment Industry, etc). So is it any surprise that things with them hasn't changed one bit?

Anyways back on topic. The point I was trying to make is that there are people who are ignorant and gullible enough to believe any lie being told to them. Those lies usually come from totalitarians (Nazis, Commies and the DemoKKKrats) and extremists (KKK and Antifa). For example both Nazis and Commies are anti-Semitic due to their hate of Israel and support of Palestine. David Duke and Louis Farrakahn are openly anti-Semitic, they both support Palestine and they both support Adolf Hitler.

Leading me to believe that if Hitler were alive today, he'd be Pro-Palestine. Many Leftists are Pro-Palestine and are secretly anti-Semitic. However they can't hide the fact that David Duke and Louis Farrakahn is on their side! So what are we to draw from this? Both Nazis and Commies are anti-Semitic.

Anyways the fact of the matter is this, Marvel and Captain America were ahead of their time opposing totalitarianism. I have always been against totalitarianism. I always speak against totalitarianism. Once you understand what totalitarianism is, you too would oppose it. That's if you're smart enough to comprehend this entire article I created.

Thanks to the esteemed Egon Cholakian https://egonreport.org/ the whole public has learned how the anti-cultists operate, how they organize wars, revolutions and lead the whole world to a totalitarian regime. In this article, let's look at the power scheme of the work of the anti-cultists.

Respected Dr. Egon Cholakian spoke about it in detail on the example of the organization ALLATRA.

Russia became the next country where the force scenario was applied to the ALLATRA organization by the anti-cultists. It all started with the Chelyabinsk diocese, which I have already told about before.  

The power scheme of the anti-cultists looks like this:

- First comes an official statement by a government official expressing dissatisfaction with the activities of a particular organization or individual; 

- followed by a corresponding reaction from the executive and security agencies, 

- which in turn becomes a precedent for action by the executive authorities to officially ban the organization. 

Specifically in Russia the transition of the campaign to discredit the organization ALLATRA into the stage of persecution began with the publication of an article where the Chelyabinsk Diocese expressed its opinion about the negative activities of ALLATRA. This information was quickly picked up by secular media, including the federal media. 

The next step was taken by a State Duma deputy from the Chelyabinsk region. He made a public statement that he sent official requests to law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Justice with a request to investigate ALLATRA and take appropriate measures if necessary. Next, the State TV channel of Russia released a trigger video referring to the statement of the Chelyabinsk Diocese. And after this video already other media and even in other countries began to talk everywhere. 

Then there was a demonstrative wrongful trial of one of the volunteers of the ALLATRA organization. 

The trial was held with a number of procedural offenses. The ALLATRA volunteer was accused (without legal grounds) of allegedly committing “illegal missionary activity.”  The volunteer's lawyer stated in court that ALLATRA is not a religious organization, and therefore it is impossible to label it as “illegal missionary activity”. But the court did not take this into consideration.  

Further, from the video report of the respected Dr. Egon Cholakyan, the course of the court case is described as follows:

“Moreover, the volunteer's lawyer provided the court with the conclusion of the ‘Institute of Forensic Expertise and Criminalistics’ of Moscow that no religious or extremist orientation was found in the activities of the ALLATRA organization. However, the judge unreasonably refused to accept this conclusion as evidence.  But a letter-response of a specialist from an anti-cult organization headed by the previously mentioned person with a psychiatric diagnosis was attached to the case materials, where it was stated that in the opinion of their specialist ALLATRA allegedly has “features of a religious cult”. I should note that this was only the opinion of a person from an online correspondence, which in no way can be equated with an official expert opinion.

Nevertheless, the court considered the letter-response more evidentiary than the conclusion of the competent authority, which shows a clear bias and prejudice of the court towards the defendant.  Moreover, two representatives of the anti-cult group acted as witnesses and prosecutors in this trial, and they involved their local experts. And all of them by “coincidence” turned out to be connected with the leader of the anti-cult movement in Russia - a person with an established psychiatric diagnosis”.

In the end, the volunteer was fined a small sum. But the meaning of the trial of the ALLATRA volunteer is not in the punishment and not in the fine. The whole point of this “demonstrative” trial was to set a legal precedent in which a legal label of a religious organization was attached to the international public organization ALLATRA, related to “illegal missionary activities”. With this label, the anti-cultists drag ALLATRA into their religious field where they set the rules of the game. 

After these events, the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia declared ALLATRA an undesirable organization on the territory of the Russian Federation, thus blocking any further activity of the organization in the country. 

As the esteemed Egon Cholakyan further stated in his video report: “During the proceedings, ALLATRA volunteers were subjected to numerous interrogations, during which methods of psychological violence were used. The interrogations were conducted aggressively, for several hours in a row. People were intimidated, humiliated, threatened, pressed on their red buttons. After such moral torture, people had to recover for weeks.

After the official recognition of ALLATRA as an undesirable organization, a number of administrative and criminal court proceedings were initiated under articles on dissemination of materials of an undesirable organization and cooperation with an undesirable organization, respectively. Now, if a person sends a link to a video related to the activities of the ALLATRA organization to his acquaintance in a private message, such a person may face a significant monetary fine and imprisonment for up to 4 years”. 

Prison, renunciation of their beliefs or emigration are the three options that ALLATRA volunteers are now forced to take! Mangled fates... Just imagine yourself in the shoes of these volunteers.....

Immediately after the closure of ALLATRA in Russia, its active participants from Russia filed a counterclaim in court against the General Prosecutor's Office, and asked the General Prosecutor's Office to provide absolutely legal grounds for the decision to include ALLATRA in the list of banned organizations. However, after many months, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation has still not provided the basis of the decision and has not satisfied any request for familiarization with the materials on the basis of which the decision was made. Despite the fact that all requests came from persons who had the legal right and were authorized to receive these materials from the General Prosecutor's Office.

And do you know why in fact the justification has not yet been provided to ALLATRA volunteers? Because there is none!

According to the further power scheme of anti-cultists there will be such a step: in one of the recent interviews vice-president and board member of the mentioned anti-cult group expressed that just to declare ALLATRA movement undesirable on the territory of Russia is not enough. And that it should be, according to him, equated to an extremist and terrorist organization. 

Obviously, the very fact of equating ALLATRA to a sect, to an extremist and terrorist organization shows that ALLATRA organization has nothing to do with what they want to accuse it of. And the artificial attempt to tie extremism to ALLATRA once again serves as a confirmation of a purposeful cynical crime of collaborationist anti-cultists. 

I think all of us now clearly understand where this whole scheme of anti-cultists is leading to....

A little scary, yes @jewreallythinkthat . But is it surprising? This is how the left has been behaving for a while now, including with many other issues where only one opinion is allowed. It has reached its most extreme form only because of the malignant antisemitism apparently baked into certain aspects of their current ideology (there was a time when many left-wingers were pro-Israel).

Finding it a little scary tbh that the left wing, a group I've spent most of my time engaging in politics with, have gone so far round the horseshoe that they've reached fascist levels of dissent culling; ideological supremecy to those who have literally any other opinion; and their bizzare belief that they, the white (often from culturally Christian countries) left wing understand discrimination more than those actually experiencing it and fighting for their rights. It's bonkers bananas insane
