A Deep Dive into John's Dad: A Soulful Tarot Reading

In my latest reading, I connected with the energy of John's dad—a gentle, intuitive soul who embodies Pisces's compassionate and adaptable nature.

As I delved into the cards, I felt his deep sorrow and disappointment surrounding the tragic events in his life, particularly those involving his son. 

There's a profound grief, and his disappointment runs deeper than words. 

It's the pain where he doesn’t need to raise his voice—his quiet strength speaks louder than any outburst ever could.

Through this reading, I explored how John’s dad feels lost, overshadowed by stronger energies around him, particularly the Queen of Swords archetype. However, despite his sadness, his integrity shines through. 

The cards reveal that he sees right through the facade, the lies, and the manipulation around him. 

He’s a man who values honesty and honor, someone who would rather live by his principles than be swayed by the superficiality of material wealth. 

He also has a strong sense of heritage and pride in his family roots, which have been tarnished by recent events, causing him deep internal conflict. He longs for peace and to walk away from what no longer serves him.

This reading highlighted the importance of integrity and underscored how our family and soul connections come full circle, even through challenging times.

king of swords, the high priestess, ace of wands, ace of swords

is a love a feeling or love a choice? that's a loaded question with many a subjective answer. if one to ask kento, he would likely answer the latter. with an occupation as dangerous as his own, it has to be. choosing to be so intimate with another is a choice one cannot take lightly. he can say with confidence that loving is you is a choice he doesn't regret in the slightest. kento's love is one that is honest, decisive and a love that seeks to know every part of you. there's a soft innocence to his love as he seeks to be someone you see as more than just 'the boyfriend'. he's your friend, your lover and your peace just as you are to him. you're partners. there isn't more that he could ask for than that. just as he seeks to know the beautiful, ugly and unknown parts of your person, he will open the door to allow you to view those parts of himself as well. his is a love that is patient and everlasting.

to toji, you're his light. the gentle rays that kiss the earth at dawn and the warm caresses of heat that thaw ice. he's in awe in how you shine, in how the flowers bloom at your very step. fushiguro toji isn't a follower by nature. he leads and that's that. but he'd follow you out of the darkness that cloaks his life and into the luminescent world you wish to bring him into. love doesn't come easy to this man. whatever he wishes to hold close to his chest inevitably seems to be torn away from him by a force twice as strongー so he'll hold onto you that much tighter. his love can be rough from his scars and callouses, brash and clumsy from his words, but toji is a passionate lover all the same. moving forward and looking to the future is one of toji's best strengths; he looks to his future with you with warmth he hasn't felt in a long time.

there's an unspoken loneliness to being the strongest, to being the one everyone has come to expect the superb. it's not a surprise, it's the standard. as such, love like this is unexplored territory for the strongest sorcerer. love is vulnerability, love is embracing both the known and unknown factors and it's allowing yourself to be connected in a way he normally wouldn't. he doesn't have to be the gojou satoru the strongest with you and that fills him with more joy than he'd expect when this is the life that has been engraved into him the moment he opened those six eyes of his. let the chalices of love be raised; let the water in them spill over and spill over more onto the green earth in a raucous revel all can bear witness to. the string that connects you doesn't have to be red, satoru will paint it in your own colors as they keep you joined through the times good and bad. when he falls, he falls and he isn't scared of the drop. he knows he'll stick the landing.

choso knows loss and has experienced tragedy first handー that loss is what taught him how to cherish what he has. there's nothing more important to him than family and you're part of his. his love is one that's quiet but it resonates through your entire being because it's all in the little details. off hand comments about things you like, the way your eyes linger on things you want. choso notices it all and acts accordingly. words aren't this man's forte, so he makes sure you know how he feels through all of his actions. choso loves freely and easily, giving every part of himself to you just as he does for anyone he cares about. he doesn't have much to give beyond himself and the small but precious family he has. you won't find a more dedicated lover than this one right here when he embarks on such a journey.

SPELL & RITUAL IDEAS

OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

Deep clean your home, taking specific care to sweep dust/debris out of your front and back door. Even better if you move in a counterclockwise fashion throughout your home to banish any negative energies that may be lingering! To bring in “new” ideas, hang up new decorations that align with your new year goals, or add specific herbs that align with your intentions to window sills and the top of door frames. It’s also a great time to refresh any wards or protection symbols you might have around your house!

2024 CHARM BAG

Pull together a few objects that symbolize your new year: sigils, charms, herbs, etc. and throw them together in a charm bag. Keep this bag on your person when the clock strikes 12am! Keep it stashed away, and pull it out whenever you feel the need to have some of that energy with you throughout the new year.

MANIFESTATIONS

Utilize your favorite manifestation methods to bring your goals to fruition! My personal favorites include writing my “wishes” (or goals) on a bay leaf and burning it. However you prefer to manifest certain goals, new years is a great time to do so.

MAKING “NORMAL CELEBRATIONS” MORE WITCHY

If you are going to be around family or friends for new years, there are a handful of things you can make it a bit more witchy for yourself! For example: if you are drinking, don’t forget to pour out a small offering for your deities/God(s). If you have someone to kiss at midnight, and they consent to doing so, perhaps you could both perform some kind of ritual that involves the kiss “activating” the spell – for example, perform a “good luck” working for the new year, and involve the kiss as a part of the ritual!

Moments on Film: Carmy and Sydney’s Tattoos

I’ve been thinking a lot about Sydney’s tattoo of the heart with three swords piercing it and the parallels to the tattoo on Carmen’s right hand of a knife going through a hand.

We have been shown time and time again with The Bear that everything happens for a reason. When we are confused about something it is because of the timing of the dispersement of information, not lack of it. Every character, situation, look, or line of dialogue has connective tissue to the story.

In episode 3 Carmy was supposed to go out with Sydney to eat different foods for an inspirational palette cleansing reset. Instead, he was presented with the opportunity to spend time with his long lost crush from high school, who has reappeared in his life—a different kind of reset.

Carmy presumably spent at least part of the day with Claire, although, we never see any of it. We do see how dedicated and diligent Sydney has been all day in an experience that was supposed to be shared with Carmy.

When Sydney returns to the restaurant later that night, Carmy opens the door. She’s surprised to see him. He’s happy to see her. As he ushers her in he places his hands on her back. At first glance this moment of physical contact really sticks out. Why does he do this?

Physicality is everything in this moment. Watch his right hand. He places his right hand, with his hand with the knife tattoo directly on top of her shoulder, covering her heart with the three swords tattoo. In this brief moment, their tattoos are physically stacked and aligned.

Again, to me, it’s the dispersement of information here, not lack of it. We don’t find out until episode 8 that Sydney has this tattoo on her right shoulder. Carmy presumably does not know about it either. That said, I now interpret it as another subtle, subconscious hint that they are emotionally entwined and connected beyond what we see on the surface.

Carmy not keeping his plans to go out with Sydney (honestly, regardless of the reason) is the first real time this season he has made a decision that has wronged her and in turn, ultimately (per his thoughts in ep. 10) wronged the restaurant and himself. This is due to his complete and total lack of balance in his life, among other things. In a split moment decision, he is dancing on the knife’s edge, and he knows it.

We know from this article that Carmy’s knife through the hand tattoo has specific meaning, a “reminder of just how close Carmy is to ruining his life. It's hard exactly how to put into words why it does, but there's a self-sabotaging aspect to Carmy. And I think that a knife through the hand speaks to that a little bit."

Sydney’s tattoo is an image of the Three of Swords from tarot cards and can represent loss, hurt, pain, misunderstanding, loneliness, betrayal and separation.

Knowing what we know about how Sydney and Carmy both have a tendency to internalize deep emotion, the physical representation of their aligned tattoos with Carmy’s hand on Sydney’s shoulder is more than skin deep. To me, it’s another example of their soul connection and how their actions and emotions deeply impact the other.

Even without realizing it, the deeper parts of themselves are drawn together, emotionally, physically and literally, like magnets to steel.

Hey! Glad to hear the Phase has been helpful for you! Happy to answer your question, but it’s a bit more complicated than a yes/no answer and I’m feeling rambly today so you’re gonna get a whole backstory on how this blog came to be 😂

Backstory about me & this blog

I’d been in the personal development manifestation community since around 2016, and it was my life for a long time. But the kind of manifesting these people taught was basically like… wake up at 5am, work out, journal, meditate, shadow work, tarot cards, affirmations, cold showers, start a business, post no less than 10 times a day across your 5+ social media channels, and maybe if you hustle hard enough and cleared enough past life karma and Mercury isn’t retrograde, then the universe might grant your wishes... (if you don’t die of exhaustion first. 😅)

It really was a mess and realize now despite the facade of positive thinking and good vibes, the whole community really just keeps themselves identifying with lack & victim mentality so the coaches at the top profit off everyone else’s misery.

I believed in manifesting and had faith I would achieve my goals, but despite years of trying a million different things, only saw small or short-term successes and never seemed to get anywhere. I was feeling pretty burnt out and miserable, so summer 2023 I decided to stop trying so hard and just spend some time focused on myself and what I wanted. I went back to the two methods that I’ve always loved and had success with: affirmations and tapping.

I tapped every day and started making affirmation art and lockscreen wallpaper for fun. I posted the affirmations on Pinterest, which eventually lead me to finding affirmations pinned from tumblr. I think it was a screenshot from blushydior I saw at first, but her blog was deactivated by then. So I started stumbling around tumblr (around Aug-Sept 2023 at this point), where I eventually came across loa, the void, and shifting.

I was surprised because despite my extreme research into all things personal development & spiritual, I’d never heard of it. Although I’d read about quantum physics and more supernatural things, every coach/teacher had major limits. “Manifesting” only meant getting logical earth things like making 6 figures in your business through hard work and hustle so you can afford to travel and buy luxury cars & Chanel bags. Stuff like changing the past, waking up with all your desires, etc was absolutely impossible and not even talked about except “you can’t change the past”.

So having only heard about these incredible overnight life-changing manifestations from tumblr, I was skeptical and wanted more information. I basically started this blog to collect information from outside tumblr to prove it to myself and share with others. Which of course sent me down a rabbit hole of research and overconsumption and overcomplicating the void 😅

I did get kinda obsessed and throw myself into trying every shifting & void method I saw right away, which just left me frustrated with “failed” attempts. But I see now I was just repeating the same victim mentality from the old community - that everything had to be hard and a struggle, that I was a victim of circumstance and limited by a higher power. (This is also a really commonly held limiting belief in religion and society in general that affects many people.)

It took me more than a few months to realize, but I’m finally switching my default programming to that of a creator instead of a victim. Because I don’t want to be obsessed and put the void on a pedestal, I’m currently just working on my self concept that I am in control of my reality and can manifest whatever I want - with or without the void. I still do want to experience it of course, just want to make sure I’m going at it with a healthy mindset.

However!

About a week or two ago I read someone’s void success story that triggered a memory from many years ago: I realized I actually did wake up in the void and manifested something, long before I even knew what manifesting or the void was 😭 Because I’d always believed in supernatural things, I thought I had a “psychic dream” but now I know it was the void! (If anyone wants storytime I can make another post with more detail).

And since at the time, I entered without even knowing about the void’s existence, I realize we here or tumblr really do overcomplicate it. Like the video I posted where the void is described as the midway point between wake and sleep - it really is that simple!

I’ve noticed now that whenever I wake up naturally (not getting woken up by an alarm, outside noise, or cat jumping on me) I do always seem to wake up in the void. It’s the same kind of experience, and I don’t hear anything, but my first natural instinct when I wake up is to wonder where the sounds of my environment are. So I end up tuning in to my room and snapping out of the void.

I guess I just have to train myself to make my first thought an affirmation for my desires instead of just wondering where the sounds are 😅 But regardless, now I know it’s absolutely real and possible for me, I know it’s only a matter of time until I figure it out!
