Even though I'm supposed to be such a smart and tough badass robin worthy of my title unlike that stupid idiot 2nd robin who got himself killed and everything that ever happened to him was his fault because he beat me up one time and he disagreess with the almighty batman! :((((( I'm so terrified of him, but I'll forgive him, im so brave to face my "abuser." I keep invading Jason's boundaries because I'm soooo smart! And that stupid idiot jason doesn't know. This is just how Bruce and I show love aren't such a good person with no flaws whatsoever? Any good that ever happens to Jason is because of my interference , he should be forever grateful for having a brother like me and also forever guilty for beating me up one timeee, let's ignore the fact I fought back just as much and was conically still standing by the end. Jason should feel sooo guilty for existing in my presence that he feels obligated to cater to my emotional needs like a parent even though he's only three years older..I'll even guilt trip jason into taking care of Bruce's emotional needs because he's soooo sad and repressed his emotions! Even though Bruce and I never had a day in our lives where our needs were unable to be met and we never had a lack of support systems and jason spent spent his who childhood taking care of adults who should have been taking care of him. But I'm just so small and frail! I need taking care of and Bruce neglects me for that evil 9 year old, look at these brittle thin bones I'm so unhealthy and don't know how to take care of myself I need jason to do it even though I'm medically fit enough to be a vigilante and had enough support growing up to have access to good medical care and consistent nutrition. Oh, but i just don't know how to care for myself. I'm such a genius, but i can't figure out basic math like getting no sleep, and relying on coffee will lead to burnouts. I just want to keep going because I'm so loyal and noble. I can't waste a moment of time to save people! :))) look at all of these cutesy quirks I have no character development needed in fact all of my perceived character "flaws" are positive flaws or flaws that only negatively affect my uwu sad boy self rather than other characters or the plot!

[Breaking News!] Our Fontaine gadget makers did it again, folks!

A collaboration project between Fontaine's best gadget makers and the scholars at Sumeru Akademiya has resulted in a prototype device inspired by the now-obsolete AKASHA system.

Not many details have been revealed, but as the scholars described it, they are aiming to use the concept of AKASHA to create a virtual space, called TeyvaTweets, where people can communicate with one another without seeing each other's faces! Yes - much quite like a communication device, but one that utilizes text instead of the usual verbal methods of communication.

A few selected testers have been invited to try it out, and if you're one of the lucky ones - congratulations! We look forward to seeing how this new technology will help connect people across Teyvat.

We did it guys! Minthara is in the top 100 most mentioned video game characters on Tumblr, sitting comfortably at rank 55!

With Astarion at rank 1 (cause of course), Gale at 5, Shadowheart at 6, Karlach at 8, Lae'zel at 9, Wyll at 12, Halsin at 16, Tav at 19, Gortash at 47, and The Dark Urge at 67. Baldur's Gate 3 is also the most talked about video game on this platform, as well as the 6th most talked about thing on all of Tumblr!

I wish Minthara was higher, but you know what, I'm happy she's on there at all! It is also interesting that she ranks higher than Durge and that Durge is that low on the list. It's also pretty interesting that there is such a discrepancy between Durge and Gortash as Durgetash is also the 67th most talked about ship on the platform. It is quite an achievement that our favorite drow is even on that list at all.

It is all just making me think back to some of the more dejecting AO3 statistics with Minthara almost being a blip, practically a statistical outlier in some ways. Even some insignificant side characters got more attention and adoration than her, or had numbers that would compare to her. But Tumblr is a much bigger platform than AO3, containing a much wider array of topics (including fanfics). So for Baldur's Gate 3 and Minthara to stand out that much is really saying something! Reading these statistics on Tumblr does go to show that one platform does not represent the entire fandom and that AO3 is only a piece of the picture.

Honestly one of the more damning but also funny aspects of the most obnoxious and harassment-prone im*dna shippers is that their blog will invariably have posts calling Percy/Vex or Fjord/Jester (or, both) miserable toxic trash and hoping they end in bitter divorce and then they'll be like "LAURA EVERY CAMPAIGN LIKE I WILL LOVE YOU NO MATTER WHAT! y'all are idiots for thinking Imogen and Laudna could ever break up! Laura only does loving, wholesome, and dedicated relationships and would never do that."

Pyromaniac Kaeya instead of Pyrophobic Kaeya HC for everyone's consideration:

- Young Kaeya who saw fire and just went "light pretty". His birth father scrambling every time to keep Kaeya from touching open flames

- soon found out how to make fire on his own and now his father is scrambling to stop him from doing so

- hates rain coz no fire! >:( Oh, and his father left him in the rain, right. But mostly coz of no fire!! >:(((((

- ...his father actually waited for a storm to make sure no fire occurred when he left Kaeya

- Crepus approaches a shivering child in the storm, and the child just reaches for him. Turns out Kaeya thought his hair was fire and wanted to touch

- When Kaeya woke up in a warm bed and saw the color red, he thought he died and went to Celestia somehow, turns out it was just a young Diluc staring at him too closely oops

- Kaeya is so envious! He really wants red hair too! (to look more like a Ragnvindr, he swears!)

- When waking up early, he goes to Adelinde to watch her cook food on preeetttyyy fffiiirrreeee

- Started a vineyard fire once. Good thing the staff saw on time before it could do any damage. He wasn't scolded too heavily, but he felt really bad after scaring everyone, and tbh that is the only reason Dawn Winery stands to this day (with several close calls)

- Kaeya, after Diluc got his pyro vision,  enjoyed the fire when they were fighting side by side

- He'd stick really close to Diluc while fighting to the point that Diluc actually subconsciously learned to make his fire avoid Kaeya

- Diluc had to purposely will his fire to aim at Kaeya in their fight :(((

- Diluc is horrified because he sees Kaeya stare straight at the fire unflinchingly :(((

- Kaeya gets his vision, and he finally realizes it was actually raining because suddenly it feels very very cold. Damn he really hates the rain

- he actually wished it were a pyro vision instead and thought that being given a cryo vision was just punishment and added suffering

- for the short time Kaeya stayed in the Dawn Winery while Diluc was away, he actually sat dangerously close to the fireplace. It worried Adelinde and Elzer who kept a careful eye on him

- in his own room in the KOF dormitories, he'd hold onto Diluc's vision to keep himself warm- the underlying power of pyro making him feel safe and happy

- when Diluc's vision started flickering, Kaeya went on a panic. He's scared the fire would be gone forever. Thankfully it ended up ok after a couple of hours, but he hid Diluc's vision on him for a while instead of leaving it in his room

- He was a bit bitter to be parted with said vision when Diluc returned. He decided to be a bit more extra annoying with how he gave the vision back to Diluc out of spite (thru an ugly vase)

- he unfortunately got so used to keeping Diluc's vision near him in his sleep that he ended up having a hard time sleeping for a while in its absence

- No one in the knights realized he's a pyromaniac. They figured he's ok with going near open flames because Diluc had a pyro vision and that since he's a cryo user, he can easily smother the flames when he fights pyro enemies

-Sometimes, he'd start fires himself and throw it onto enemies. The knights just thought "oh hey! A self-made melt reaction! Sir Kaeya is so cool-"

- Jean only realized after giving Kaeya babysitting duty to Klee for the first time. They came back with several reformed landscapes, a large basket of dead fish, and faint sounds of people screaming. Kaeya looked absolutely deranged, grinning ear to ear, with sparkles in his eyes, while carrying Klee, who was equally ecstatic

- "Oh no, what have I done." said Jean in horror after realizing the effects of making Kaeya babysit Klee

- kaeya argued with Jean over him spending time with Klee ( Kaeya somewhat won the argument? But he was told that no major damage should happen under his watch or else no Klee time. Good thing he had a cryo vision then)

- He made Klee her handbook as a guide for when and where they could do explosions. Time to teach his little pyromaniac partner the art of cunning.

- Rosaria figured out he likes fire and passes him the lighter to light up her cigarettes. She ended up gifting him a lighter soon after

- Kaeya has some business late at night sometimes, and that gives him the opportunity to watch the darknight hero in action, which means more fire!

- Diluc realizes that Kaeya watches him sometimes and since he knows Kaeya likes to see fire (to a worrying extent, and that really says something when a pyro user thinks so) he lets the other follow him around for a while

- Kaeya also gravitates towards the other pyro users in town. He enjoys watching Amber do target practice, he likes training Bennett, and again with spending time with Klee

Good grief I have many an oc… I’ve spoken vaguely about my mains online BUT I keep it vague for privacy stuff lol. The main set are from a story me and a close friend began IRL years ago that was all but abandoned after the pandemic. They aren’t really into it anymore so essentially I’ve been given free reign over them. However… I have no set plan on what we’re gonna do. We both love art so we’ve considered making it into like a webcomic or a book but neither of us know. It’s just this series stuck in my head. I keep things vague with them love in case we ever do get around to making this a real published thing (also because I am… 60% sure said friend has a tumblr and Do Not Want Them To Find Me.)

smashes my current interest together with my old interest (aka yet another "what Dungeon Meshi but Gamers?" AU)

Once when I was a child I had a complete crying meltdown over Creatures, because the manual insisted that the complicated AI of the Norns made them truly alive and 10-year-old me was freaked out at the idea of being solely responsible for making sure these real animals wouldn't die. The funny part was that this was the Playstation version of Creatures, which has no biochemistry and very basic AI compared to the PC/Mac games where players actually were debating whether or not it was true artificial life. A PSX manual gave me existential dread and it wasn't even telling the truth.

Anyway, kid!Marcille would also have a meltdown over the Creatures series, especially if she had the computer games and got to see how vastly different some breeds' lifespans are. Like in C2 where you have Norns that live for around 5 hours and Norns that live for 10, both of which are vastly more than Ettins who don't even live for 1.5 hours (and usually less due to radiation or starvation).

Lucky for her, having the computer version means she could download modified genomes made by other players that make creatures live longer or even outright remove certain death triggers. However I think she'd have more fun learning to read and edit the genomes herself, to get a better understanding of how the game works and how to change it to suit her own tastes. And because she could pretend she's one of the mysterious ancient Shee who created the Norns, Grendels, and Ettins and then vanished, leaving behind relics of their old society.

(Speaking of Grendels, she would unfortunately dislike them because they're the Designated Evil Species and she'd hate how they harass and attack her Norns. I think she'd also pity them though, because they get sick a lot and have short lifespans. Likely she'd just end up downloading/creating a genome without the aggression towards Norns. Ettins she'd like except for in C3 when they dismantle her meticulously-placed gadget setups, so she might mod out their hoarding compulsions too. Both of them would of course also live for however long her Norns would live.)

Also. While standard creatures' lifespans are counted in hours, if you modify the half-lives in the genome editor you can increase it to centuries. Or even just over a millennium if you set the half-lives to their max length (assuming you also leave the old age death trigger at its vanilla value).

and I like to think that elven Creatures players would pass around copies of what they consider a template genome that's appropriate to their own lifespans. Something that would make their creatures live for weeks or months of continuous play. I also like to think the Creatures DS Warp is still active in this AU because of the hilarious frustration when these long-lived Norns travel to worlds run by short-lived players whose Norns have vanilla lifespans, and vice versa.

(Most of the time in Creatures, offspring of parents with different lifespans will just have one or the other, but there's a chance the genes cross over right in the middle of the various age triggers and cause unstable aging rates. Like a Norn that goes through the childhood stages in hours but then has a very extended adulthood. Or a days-long childhood followed by suddenly dropping dead of old age once the vanilla adulthood genes kick in. Or, if the child has one parent's half-life decay rate and the other parent's age triggers, all sorts of odd things could happen. I once had hybrid Norns who lived for 20 hours and would die of organ failure before reaching the old age threshold!)

(Now that I think of it, Marcille would absolutely hate fast-agers. The first time she watches a creature hatch, turn old, and die in just one brief minute of life, she would be sobbing for days. One of the first things she'd learn to mod out would be mutations that cause the Ageing/Life chemical to decrease unusually fast.)

On a lighter note, while I don't know what her favorite designs would be I think she'd love choosing cute breeds to use in her world. Once she figured out how to give her creatures the comfortable life she wants them to have I can see her redirecting all her gene-editing efforts into changing color expressions. She might even learn to sprite or model her own custom designs.

Hey there anon! Yah, it’s a massive AU/rewrite thing I have for the XY anime (and maybe games??) that I’ve been planning for a while now. The name is short for ‘beware of kalosian woods; lovely, dark and deep’ and it’s up on AO3 at currently idk 6 fics?? Which is super funny since so far I’ve managed to plan out 60 fics for it and the numbers are getting higher as I go on lol. Anyways, this all happened when I got inspired by a friend to rewrite some scenes of the anime and then welp, it snowballed into a project of massive proportions that should, if I’m motivated enough, keep me occupied for a year at least ^^’

I guess I should say some things about it since I’ve been rambling on for so long, huh? Well, in my watch of XY (and many future ruminations afterwards) I guess my biggest problem was that almost everyone but Ash and Greninja got their narrative presence and story potential whittled down to almost nothing (if not downright nothing) as the series went on. The start had promise but afterwards? Straight off the series itself I can’t tell you much about anyone in any real deep capacity (and the sad thing is that I do care about at least some of them, but they end up getting the shortest stick ever :/). So, in this rewrite I’m shaking things up and giving everyone opportunities to develop and grow, try out new things and new bonds, let the Pokémon play around with each other and their Trainers (Chespin my beloved, why did you never exist beyond the butt if the joke when you used to have a Reason for Being in your origin ep?? ;w;), all that jazz. Also including some game plots and characters (AZ should’ve been there and in my essay), more fleshed out Team Flare, maybe Southern Kalos??? Still thinking on that. More dramatic and honestly more cooler Kalos Crisis where we don’t just have two 50% Zygarde and then Zygarde Rock, changing up the way Showcases are done (letting them be their own thing seperate from Contests while also having that creative flare), more lore for that Bond Phenomenon, etc. Basically I’m going to have fun with the playground of Kalos lore/locations and letting any character that was a character have their time to shine, so if there are any backgrounders that you may have taken a shine to, there’s probably a chance that I’ve written them in this big thing heh.

(My second problem is the lack of Legendary Death Bird and Life Deer in the series that introduces them—wdym the only time I can see them is in one movie for 5 minutes? And don’t get me started on the cameo in the camp arc.

So naturally I’m going to have them play a role throughout the series as well, down to the Crisis itself. Can’t have Squishy have all the fun :3)

So, I’m not sure if I truly grasped what this project is about, tbf I’m still planning it out as I go since I’ve always been a pantser, but it’s something fun for me and I hope that more people will come to enjoy it too! A mix of every genre, some crack interspersed within the fluff and angst, Sycamore adopting way too many children while placing himself in a self-made love triangle, lore and deep connections, history and its effects, life and death and order.

And being the best version of yourself. That too.

PS I forgot to add, my tag is basically a really funny spoilers-no-spoilers compilation of posts that fit the vibe of the whole series. Like the posts just resonates with a certain part of the series and represents it and I thought that hey, might as well make a tag that would make no sense to anyone until the series is finished while also giving myself inspiration and motivation. I should probably make a side blog for the project but that’s if it gains enough traction I think, like an askblog or compilation thing. Dog shifts, dog shifts! For me, for a long time I didn't used to think of my shifting as "dog shifts." (Well, I didn't think of it as "shifting" either but you get the point.) Instead I like to act however I want, whether that be a bit more calmly and like a person or with a lot more stimming and strange behavior, so I always saw my shifting as an extension of that—I feel like growling, purring, meowing, or whining right now so I'm gonna, you know? But I'm just realizing that whenever I do that, I kinda get stuck a little in that animalistic mindset: I see myself as smaller than human-sized, so standing up feels wrong; I get urges to cuddle at the feet of people I like or headbutt them; I like sniffing things and crawling on all fours and communicating solely without words; etc etc. I always thought it came from my oversized imagination or from me having fun doing that (since I already make animal noises in my day-to-day life and just communicate some things by yelping at people). But I realizing now that those might've been shifts? Most of the time self-induced since I have fun making animal noises and then get stuck in a loop, but shifts all the same. And in that case, then I've been having animal shifts all my life O-O

But why am I talking about that? Because yesterday I made a pillow fort in a friend's room and something about it (maybe because it was really short so I had to lay on the floor in it, maybe because I had my own space away from anyone else's eyes) triggered that same mindset. I felt small again, more like an animal, and I could feel my tail more strongly than ever. When I poked my head out of the fort to watch my friend game, I bothered him by yowling at him and meowing a little and chuffing(?). And I purred a bit when he rubbed my hair. I find it so interesting that through all that, I still felt like a dog instead of a cat, just a very vocal one; trying to think of myself as a cat during that just fuzzed up my brain in a way that made me feel uncomfortable (it's hard to explain). But I enjoyed getting to basically have a dog shift in my friend's room, even if I didn't enjoy having to take down the pillow fort afterward. And since it was my first official shift that I knew about while it was happening (and because I still feel a lil doggy and that's the only thing I can think about), I kinda wanted to share it!

im hoping that the movies greta gerwig is apparently attached to direct are previously unadapted ones cause it's not been long enough since the original 00s lww-dt run for it to have really faded from the public consciousness and it would feel very much like retreading old ground. saying that, she's an insightful and compassionate director with a good eye for set design and creating a very immersive world, so i think if the rumours pan out they'd be good films!
