Hey there anon! Yah, it’s a massive AU/rewrite thing I have for the XY anime (and maybe games??) that I’ve been planning for a while now. The name is short for ‘beware of kalosian woods; lovely, dark and deep’ and it’s up on AO3 at currently idk 6 fics?? Which is super funny since so far I’ve managed to plan out 60 fics for it and the numbers are getting higher as I go on lol. Anyways, this all happened when I got inspired by a friend to rewrite some scenes of the anime and then welp, it snowballed into a project of massive proportions that should, if I’m motivated enough, keep me occupied for a year at least ^^’

I guess I should say some things about it since I’ve been rambling on for so long, huh? Well, in my watch of XY (and many future ruminations afterwards) I guess my biggest problem was that almost everyone but Ash and Greninja got their narrative presence and story potential whittled down to almost nothing (if not downright nothing) as the series went on. The start had promise but afterwards? Straight off the series itself I can’t tell you much about anyone in any real deep capacity (and the sad thing is that I do care about at least some of them, but they end up getting the shortest stick ever :/). So, in this rewrite I’m shaking things up and giving everyone opportunities to develop and grow, try out new things and new bonds, let the Pokémon play around with each other and their Trainers (Chespin my beloved, why did you never exist beyond the butt if the joke when you used to have a Reason for Being in your origin ep?? ;w;), all that jazz. Also including some game plots and characters (AZ should’ve been there and in my essay), more fleshed out Team Flare, maybe Southern Kalos??? Still thinking on that. More dramatic and honestly more cooler Kalos Crisis where we don’t just have two 50% Zygarde and then Zygarde Rock, changing up the way Showcases are done (letting them be their own thing seperate from Contests while also having that creative flare), more lore for that Bond Phenomenon, etc. Basically I’m going to have fun with the playground of Kalos lore/locations and letting any character that was a character have their time to shine, so if there are any backgrounders that you may have taken a shine to, there’s probably a chance that I’ve written them in this big thing heh.

(My second problem is the lack of Legendary Death Bird and Life Deer in the series that introduces them—wdym the only time I can see them is in one movie for 5 minutes? And don’t get me started on the cameo in the camp arc.

So naturally I’m going to have them play a role throughout the series as well, down to the Crisis itself. Can’t have Squishy have all the fun :3)

So, I’m not sure if I truly grasped what this project is about, tbf I’m still planning it out as I go since I’ve always been a pantser, but it’s something fun for me and I hope that more people will come to enjoy it too! A mix of every genre, some crack interspersed within the fluff and angst, Sycamore adopting way too many children while placing himself in a self-made love triangle, lore and deep connections, history and its effects, life and death and order.

And being the best version of yourself. That too.

PS I forgot to add, my tag is basically a really funny spoilers-no-spoilers compilation of posts that fit the vibe of the whole series. Like the posts just resonates with a certain part of the series and represents it and I thought that hey, might as well make a tag that would make no sense to anyone until the series is finished while also giving myself inspiration and motivation. I should probably make a side blog for the project but that’s if it gains enough traction I think, like an askblog or compilation thing. Anyways lmk if there’s anything unclear in my massive ramble or if you want to know something more/else, I’ve really enjoyed this ask if you can tell heh :D <33

Looker-core Apartment ^ - He claims to not really care about his living space, but Looker does have a style that even he's not aware of. He loves good dark real wood and leather, and a hardy bookshelf to keep all of his belongings and knick knacks. He loves organizing his shelves and displaying his past adventures. Anabel remarks that it is so lovingly 'Looker' that it even surprises him! His bed wasn't the best though, just serviceable (until Anabel inspired him... You'll see why)

Anabel-core Apartment ^ - Her love of Pokemon shines through how there's a lot of plush and soft spaces for whoever is out of the Pokeball atm. She loves Kalosian stylings and Looker notes that she is so... surprisingly dainty and cute that it flusters him being at her place. Anabel having Snorlax means she LOVES pillowy softness, too! It's... Just too bad that Snorlax can barely fit inside her apartment... Oh! And Looker liking dark and natural is very appealing to a frog like Croagunk!

Now I posted these because I want some help... How would you mix the two styles once they share a house...

How bout some facts and care tips for braixen?

Ooohhhh! This one has been in the back of my mind for a while!

Braixen Facts

-The scientific name for Braixen is "Vulpes Puella" which means "Fox Girl"

-While solitary, wild braixen have been known to have meetups with other braixen, showing off their fire skills and communicating with one another. These are called, "Flaritch Rituals."

-Despite being fire types, their body can't handle too much heat. Their ears work as a way to cool themselves off and to dissipate unwanted heat

-Braixen stop eating sticks after they evolve from fennekin, instead becoming omnivores and eating berries and small pokemon

-The Fenniken line makes many sounds for comunnication. These sounds include whining, laughing, barking, howling, etc.

-In ancient times, when pokemon were still refered to as mythical creatures, Braixen were seen as dangerous witches of the woods. Though not as feared as delphox, they were still feared as they had a more mischievous nature than delphox, and were very good trickster. They would play pranks on humans and cast spells on them. Ancient Kalosians nicknamed them "La Renarde Leurre," or "The Luring Vixen."

-They can go up to a week without water

-They're very popular with pokemon performers for their elegance and grace

-Modern day braixen were bred to be show breeds

-The Delphox line is related to the zoroark and ninetails line

-Braixen paw pads and noses feel really warm to the touch

-In the 1800s, the braixen line was hunted a lot for their fur, which was turned into coats. As a consequence of this, the braixen line was over hunted almost to the point of extinction, which is a reason why they're so rare

-Even before the fur hunting, killing a braixen and taking it's eyes was celebrated as the ancient Kalosians saw it as "killing an evil witch." Braixen eyes were also thought to ward off evil spirits

Care Tips

Wild braixen shouldn't be approached, as they defend themselves by lighting fires around them. Wild braixen don't enjoy human contact.

Due to being starter pokemon, braixen are relatively easy to care for. Feed them a healthy diet of berries mixed with meat, and they're all set. They're light eaters, so two meals a day should be good.

Braixen can be litterbox or toilet trained. It depends on what you want.

Make sure you keep the humidity down, since they live in dry places in the wild. A room to themselves would be great. Not an entire bedroom or anything like that, but a room with a lot of sand and heaters. Make sure you keep it clean, because braixen hate getting dirty.

     To say that a variety of people have stepped through the entryway of this building, with a vast array of problems, would be an understatement. Lost items and missing people or pokemon to language barriers and need for directions. Yet none have announced themselves, asking for her father— or rather, him through that codename. Not until now.

     She straightens in her chair, a movement slight enough to pass as little more than a twitch. And from the notebook atop a worn desk, eyes lift to rest upon the figure just before the doorway.

          «...Looker?»

     This person— he does not bear any similarities to the agents she has seen before. Even so, Serena is no fool. Aware enough, at least, to not immediately reach for the framed photo to her right, and place it glass down to the wood it stands on. To potentially jeopardise his, and perhaps her and Emma's own, safety by doing anything other than feigning ignorance is out of the question. Who knows of this stranger's intentions? If he means ill-will or not, or if this is all some understandable mistake made in his question. Hands collect atop of the champion's lap, and though her expression does not change, she is sure to catalogue every perceivable detail before her.

          «This is the Looker Bureau, if that is what you mean. A detective agency. Is there something we can help you with?»

A Kalosian Fairy Tale

Long, long ago, a woman had a beautiful daughter. Her husband was in service to the king, leaving her with only her daughter.

One day, the girl fell ill. No apothecary nor cleric could provide a cure.

The woman did not give up. She donned her nicest cloak and fled to the woods on the brightest day. She went deep, careful not to step in the rings on the ground. Deeper and deeper, until the sun was blot out. In the darkness, she finally found a fairy with silver hair.

"Please, I beg you to save my daughter. She is ill."

The fairy listened, then responded. "You ask for a great thing. What will you give me?"

The woman took off her cloak. When the fairy shook her head, she pulled out her coin purse. Again, the fairy shook her head. Finally, the woman bowed before the fairy.

"No. For something great as this, I will need something that my brother cannot take from me. Your clothing he shall take first, your coin he will spend, before he takes you away as well. Find me what he cannot take from me, then find me. I will use it to bring her back."

Despondent, the woman left. She searched, remembering the fairy's words. The day before the equinox, the woman visited the cemetery her daughter would go to. There, she found her answer.

On the equinox, the woman donned her nicest cloak and traveled into the woods. Again, she trodded carefully, avoiding the rings. When she saw the sun above no longer, she found the fairy waiting.

"Have you found what my brother cannot take?"

"Yes," the woman responded.

"And what is it?" The fairy asked.

"My name. He cannot take my name."

Smiling, the fairy nodded. "That he cannot. But you cannot keep it when I bring her back."

"I can get another name. But I cannot get another daughter." The woman responded.

The fairy held out her hand. "Give me something my brother can take. It will be a thread that leads me to him." The woman took off her cloak, handing it over to the fairy. "Good. Wait at your home. Your daughter will awaken. Do not tell her your name or hers until you find a new name. Your old one will not die if you never use it, and your daughter will live with it."

The woman thanked the fairy and left. On the dawn of the next day, her daughter awoke. When she did, she told her mother of a dream of a deer chasing a bird. After breakfast, they went back to the cemetery to search for a name.

It was three thousand years ago! There was lots of fighting! Kalos was in war! Big death weapon made of crystal and light was there! It was a lot of stress! The weapon was used and I felt tired! I was dead when it stopped! Three thousand years of being alone did not do well for my memory of it! I was not rich! I am happy about hearing history of Kalosian Revolution! I liked exploring! I did not make money lots! Mother and Father were crafts people before they had to fight in war! I tried some wood shaping but not many wanted it! Rosie says I speak old Kalosienne words more and sound like an old poet! She says it does not sound like it with Galarienne because I am early learning! Tour Prismatique was not built when I lived! I have been stuck in buildings mostly since dying! I have not seen much!

I broke up with some Kalosian guy, not because he was mean or anything, but because his family had a Phantump who they were all convinced was their great-grand uncle who died in the woods as a little boy. Being requested to call a phantump great-grand uncle was supremely uncomfortable.

I bit into a raw lum berry I had and the bitter taste made me throw up in the bathroom, so I feigned illness and bolted. Why I didn't pretend I had a migraine is beyond me.

How Basil got Flabébé

In the town of Farway, 8 year old Basil Beauchêne walked out of his house, hid faithful Budew by his side. His Grandma called out to him.

"À plus tard! Soyez prudent! Et restez hors du bois !" She said. She was born and raised in Kalos, so she preferred to speak Kalosian when home, rather than Unovan.

"Ne t'inquiète pas, grand-mère ! Nous serons bien! Au revoir!" Basil said back before running off with Budew. He ran past Polly, his caretaker, as she tended to some flowers. He loved his small town. Basil wandered for a bit. He wasn't going to meet his friends today, but that was alright! Today was gonna be a Basil - Budew bonding day!

"Alright, Budew! Where should we go first?" Basil asked.

"Dew! Bud Budew!" Budew said, leading Basil into the woods. Not too deep though, what happened to Kel and Hero almost a year ago there was terrifying, even if Hero got a new Pokémon out of it. As he walked, he heard voices.

"Ugh, I don't need another egg!" A voice said.

"Just leave it here!" The other said. Basil heard them leave and went to investigate.

He looked on the ground and saw…a Pokémon egg! He looked at the abandoned egg. A memory resurfaced. His Grandma telling him why he doesn't have parents, and why she cries every year on the same day of the year. When Basil was 6 months old, his parents dropped off him off at his Grandma's. Then they went to a meeting, and died in a car crash on the way home.

Basil wasn't gonna let this little Pokémon be parentless like him. He picked up the egg and walked home.

When he reached home, he saw Polly.

"Back so soon, Basil? What do you have there?" She asked.

"It's a Pokémon egg! Some mean trainers abandoned it!" Basil said.

"OK, bring it inside" Polly said. Basil did as he was told. Polly brought one of those baby things were you can strap a baby to your chest.

"Here. Now you can carry it." She said. Basil put it on and put the egg in.

"When will it hatch?"

"You gotta keep it warm and walk with it!" Polly said. Basil ran outside to the garden.

"Look! These are my plants! They are precious to me! I love my plants!" Basil said as he showed the egg his plants.

"I'm gonna run around with you until you hatch! Then you can be my friend! And you can meet my other friends!" Basil said. He showed Budew the egg.

"Egg. Meet Budew." He said.

Then he ran to Polly.

"This is Polly! She is my caretaker!" Basil said. Basil began to run until he was tired. But the egg didn't hatch. He heard the doorbell ring. He opened it. He saw Sunny and Ralts, and Mari and Mewo.

"Hey Basil. Polly said you had- is that an egg?" She asked. Basil beamed.

"Yes! It'll grow big and strong like my plants. Egg, meet Mari. She's like my big sister."

"Hi egg!" Mari said

"And this is my best friend Sunny!" Basil said.

"Hi."

"How about we get some blankets and warm stuff? Warmth helps eggs hatch!" Polly said, entering the room. The kids cheered, as they ran to set up the blanket fort. Basil held the egg tightly. He slept with the egg that night, snuggling it to keep it warm.

The next day, he went to school. He took the egg with him. He saw his teacher, Mrs. Addle.

"Oh Basil! Is that a Pokémon egg?" She asked. Basil nodded.

"Yeah! And I'm gonna protect it! It was abandoned and alone…" he said, hugging the egg. At recess, some mean kids came.

"Aw, little Basil found another reject!" The mean kid said.

"HEY! Be nice to egg! It's just a baby!" Basil said, before a kid took Egg.

"EGG!" Basil cried as the kids tossed the egg around.

"STOP! YOU'LL HURT IT!" Basil yelled as the kids laughed and threw it further. Basil was angry. You can mess with him, but not his friends!

"BUDEW! USE VINE WHIP!" He yelled, as Budew caught the Egg midair and returned it to Basil!

"Now use RAZOR LEAF!" Basil cried as small leafs cut the bullies. It was just scratches, it didn't even hurt much, but they ran off. Basil held the egg and cried.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you…" Basil said. Aubrey ran over.

"Basil, what happened?" She asked. Basil explained everything.

"Oh their gonna get it! But first, WOW! Usually you let them walk all over you! Good on ya!" She said. Basil chuckled. Basil did get sent to the principals and suspended, but Polly gave him ice cream for being Protective of the egg. Basil squished a cone onto The egg to share it. That night, Basil introduced the egg to his grandma. She hugged the egg, and gave Basil a heating pad. That night, as he slept, he felt the egg move! He saw it glow and ran into his Grandma's room with it, calling for Polly.

"It's hatching!" Polly said. Pieces broke off, and Basil watched in wonder. Suddenly, there was a bright light. The egg was broken. And there was a Flabébé with a red flower. It looked confused and scared. It tried to crawl away, while crying.

"Hey, don't be scared!" Basil said. Instantly, it perked up. It recognized Basil's voice! It floated to his shoulder and gave him a hug.

"Bé! Flaaaaaaaaa" it cooed. Basil looked surprised. He held the tiny Pokémon. It was his. Budew came and Flabébé smiled. This was his new Pokémon. He loved it. He smiled. And cried.

"Flabébé! I love you! I'm gonna protect you forever and ever and EVER!" Basil yelled and he held his new Pokémon. It laughed. Polly laughed. Basil began to yawn. It was 2 am. He, Flabébé and Budew fell asleep. Polly picked up the trio and carried them to Basil's room, where she put them to bed. The Pokémon snuggled their trainer.

"...I'll…protect you…I'll protect…all my friends…no matter what…" Basil said in his sleep. The trio slept like Babies, happy and safe in each other's arms...

BREAKING NEWS: Trainers Hospitalized After Bravely Saving Kalos From Destruction

“Yesterday, Kalos experienced a shocking revelation when Lysandre, CEO of Lysandre Labs, revealed himself to be the leader of the infamous criminal organization known as Team Flare. Not only that, but the region was blown into widespread panic when he threatened to unleash the power of the “ultimate weapon”, a doomsday device dating back to the ancient Kalosian war, onto the region- which would have effectively wiped out at least half the global population.

Interpol was sent scrambling across the region trying to find the weapon and apprehend Lysandre before he could activate it, but in the end it was all thanks to a group of five heroic young trainers- Tierno Bonheur, Trevor Lambert, Shauna Allaire, Auberi Bellerose, and ex-Galarian Champion Blake (last name requested to remain anonymous).

The teens supposedly had intel on the whereabouts of the weapon, and rushed into action. What exactly went down within Team Flare’s headquarters in Geosenge that day is still unknown, but the device was successfully weakened, only allowing it to unleash a far less powerful blast that struck the underground base and caused damage to the surrounding houses.

Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno were all able to escape thanks to the help of a mysterious Pokémon that has yet to be identified:

Nearly an hour later, Blake and Auberi emerged from the ruined base as well, unconscious and being delivered on the back of yet another unidentified Pokémon:

Many believe these two mysterious entities to be none other than the legendary Pokémon; Xerneas and Yveltal, but there is no further evidence to prove this claim as of yet. The two trainers were left gravely injured, but before they could receive emergency medical attention, the pair of strange Pokémon took off into the wilderness and disappeared with them.

A search for the two teenagers was conducted, and two hours later they were found wandering in the middle of the woods surrounding Geosenge, with the majority of their major injuries miraculously healed. They were still rushed into the hospital later that evening, but hopefully by either tomorrow or the day after, they will be discharged and allowed to resume their gym challenge.

Once this year’s League Challenge draws to a close, the celebratory festival after will not only be held in honor of whomever emerges from the tournament as champion, but also the five courageous, young heroes who stepped up to save Kalos in its darkest hour.”]

for your Kalosian Woods AU, I have two questions! (1) what’s the direction you’re gonna take Amourshipping/Ash and Serena’s dynamic in? Their friendship along with the romantic subtext felt like it had a lot of potential in XYZ-proper but never really got utilized. And (2) how’re you gonna tackle Showcases? I’ve been meaning to work on a Showcase restructure but I’d love to hear your ideas :D

Hey there!!!!! For the first question, I 100% acknowledge the force of Serena’s crush on Ash in the XY series— even if I did tweak it so that she would fall after meeting him for the first time, watching him train for the Gym and having seen him fall off Prism Tower inspiring her to see him through tinted lens (and how it evolved from the admiration she had for him when they were kids so long ago). While XY anime itself had the weird notion of making everyone down for Ash (a terrifying scene after coming out of the professional haters of BW and literally every series before it) (ngl though I am a believer of the polycule + Bonnie idea lol, it exists in my heart), I can’t deny that side of Amourshipping even if I’m not a shipper myself or even much of a good writer for romantic relationships imo. In my AU I want to show how that love for him grows and eddies throughout the series: from their first meeting to taking up her own dream of showcases to seeing Ash lose himself in his endless hunt for strength— how she puts him on a pedestal because he was the first Trainer she knew, the strongest one she knew, and back then how she didn’t know better, relying on him instead of taking the risks herself and working with other people for a change. You’re absolutely right in the potential their relationship have in XYZ especially; with Serena coming to the tail end of her first Showcase season, ending up in the same place as before but with a totally changed perspective, and Ash fixating more than ever on being the best of the best, distancing himself from everyone else… and of course, all of that feelings and realisations coming to a head in Snowbelle, the Crisis, and the aftermaths. And also having both of them face each other at the end of it all and realising how much changed. I’m not really sure if I’m wording any of this right or if what I’ve said even makes sense heh, especially since I’m not too far ahead in this AU, but their friendship and that romantic subtext is definitely going to play a part in this series, and even if the plot details changes like the weather I’m going to do my best in keeping it as true to its potential as it should be (because a girl can be in love and also grow as a person, in spite and despite and even with it— you’ve just got to find the right angle).

(Also I’m going to have fun with that crush, so it might meet some light-hearted banter and miscommunications and all of that stuff. I mean, hey, these are kids on a journey lol. There are going to be awkward moments for everyone at some point, but they’ll grow past it as with everything else. Also fun memories. :P)

For the second question, wow, I’ve been giving it so much thought lol. I’m nowhere near the Showcases right now (although it is closer than what canon gave us in my AU) and yet it’s all I can do to plan for how it works. I have spitballed a few ideas with friends but for me (so far) I honestly want more of it to be outdoors. Showcases as a whole has this pesky problem of being a one-to-one copy of Contests but ‘declawed’ by having no battles, and it really gets me because if we’re discarding battles then we have to actually redefine Showcases as a whole— because the battle portion is the ultimate showing of precision and control with your Pokémon and their moves, which is what Contests are all about. Especially with AG and DP, we see examples of atypical Appeal rounds with Harley going for a more terrifying show of power, while Kenny (as :/ as a character as he was) goes for showings of strength— even though they are not ‘beautiful’ they still get to pass, because it really is about how your bond can perfectly translate to moves that can command the audience and grab their attention, naturally highlighting the Pokémon. With Showcases though, to me, they are more about creativity— about how a Performer can work with their Pokémon to get past certain obstacles which are based off a certain characteristic the Kalos Queen should have (the Theme round or whatever it was called lol) and then the Freestyle showing off what they uniquely bring to the table, their own brand, what they want to be remembered by (in which I thought that they could bring props to that originally but eh, that’s what my AU is for!). Sheesh, I went through such a big rant and I still feel fired up heh, but ig this is to say that since Showcases are about creativity, the outdoors location would be a great way to show how they deal with everything. On a sunny day, would they use Grass or Fire Types? Would they call out a Rain Dance and form a rainbow? Of course they wouldn’t actually have an open venue if it’s raining or snowing, but in different terrains can you see the characters stand out, I feel like. Also giving all sorts of Pokémon room like Flying or Ground. I have a bunch more ideas of course, about it being connected to PokéVision (still mad about how that concept got dumped) and having small events where people can get to know the up and coming Performers, getting hints for the Theme section so we don’t get the most unbalanced group of people and have a real competition (that always bothered me ngl), as well as other tweaks to that whole system. Showcases can be good in their own light, it’s just the rep of it being baby ‘only girls’ Contest (still thinking about the girls bit ngl) along with the stupid popularity bit of it (not that the concept is bad in and of itself, just that it should have a place and not be the be all end all of passing to the next stage) (it’s only good for the Freestyle, can I say that?) that makes it flop. Also because it came in so late and left so early. And the rivals kind of sucked because they weren’t given any time to grow. And the way Serena wasn’t challenged enough through them. So basically, I’ve got A Lot of thoughts about it and it’s going to be a headache to go through because it desperately needs a redesign to be viable in any way. • The two Rockets that stole his Pokémon and threatened him were a woman with blonde hair that fades to a blue and a man with brown hair that had purple streaks throughout it

• Caben died in a forest with very few identifying features, he knows exactly where it is though

• He's technically a missing person in Kalos but was declared dead a year after since his tent and belongings were found but no one could find him, Caben doesn't want to go back to Kalos to avoid any questions arising

• Xerneas granted Caben with Immortality and the ability to heal others. He was informed to help where he can with these abilities, only reason these were granted was because Caben's whole deal was very out of the ordinary

• Caben doesn't really remember what him and Emmet did to bring him back

• He died in November of 2019 and spent a few years as a shiny Phantump before being resurrected on September 6th 2022

• He has wooden horns that have grown a bit along with parts of his body being made of wood, keeps all of his body covered and uses his ghostly power of invisibility to keep his horns hidden

• The leaves on his head and horns have the same healing properties as a Phantumps leaves, the blessing from Xerneas has enhanced the properties of his leaves

I think, despite living the first half of her life in Kalos and presumably having been born there, Scarlett considers herself Unovan, not Kalosian. It’s not like she got any sense of national identity, being raised by Pokemon in the forest, and then after N found her - Zoe lives in Lumiose City at the time, and N lives on her couch. But going from living in the woods to living in a megapolis would probably be a serious shock to Scarlett, and I can’t imagine she would do well there at first.

Plus, Zoe and N wouldn’t have much help in Kalos. Zoe has Professor Sycamore as a mentor, and she’s friends with a few of his lab assistants, who are all younger than her. N is on good terms with Wulfric, who’s the other human who regularly visits the Pokemon Village. That’s about all they’ve got and now there’s a kid on their hands. It takes a village, etc.

So as far as looking for support goes, Zoe’s making a list of “people I’m close to who have raised a child before”. And it’s like. Cedric Juniper. Alder. Not really that close to Drayden but Zoe and Iris are good friends. Not close at all with Clay but he’s also in proximity to Rood, Concordia, and Anthea. But Driftveil and Opelucid are bigger cities, so maybe count out Clay (with apologies to N’s sisters) and Drayton. We don’t actually know canonically where Juniper Sr lives. It might not even be Nuvema Town. But Alder lives in Floccesy Town, which is tiny, and it’s right down the road from Aspertia City, which is not a very big city and also Cheren lives there.

Alder is just living his life and then he gets a phone call from Zoe where she’s like “hey what’s the real estate sitch in Floccesy. N found a kid in the woods and isn’t giving her up so we’re thinking about moving” and Alder’s just like. “I need you to elaborate. Please elaborate.”

So Scarlett spends the next six years of her life in Aspertia or Floccesy before they all move to Paldea, though they probably travel a lot within Unova. Get Scarlett used to big cities after a while. All told, she turns out shockingly well-adjusted.

RED 💖

mute boy born to a family of jolly, talkative and enthusiastic fishers. they make this their entire personality and reds house is very fishing themed. hes... absolutely not as enthusiastic as a kid and sick of the smell of fish, but enjoys it as an adult.

his pikachus a much bigger beast than most pikas in comparison. Supreme Champion.

during G1 he is very polite and well mannered in contrast to green and leaf. his room is tidy and he goes to bed early. though he defends all dumb rowdy shit leaf pulls anyway. this is reflected in his pkmn being more of the gentle giant sort.

he has learned a lot of cooking + baking skills from his mom and the smell of his outdoor cooking can instantly summon leaf and green (reluctantly) to him during G1. he is a huge sweet tooth as well and prefers tea over coffee.

only looks retired as an adult; often sleepy and napping and walking everywhere in crocs. boring as hell but hey its endearing when red does it. but he is very much in peak physical strength and still quickly sweeping other trainers' teams. despite his usual serene demeanor he can still go for the most rash decision and just go apeshit w his pokemon.

TERMINALLY OFFLINE. no way is he going to understand what "ratioing team rocket epic style big W" is going to mean. types bluntly, like your dad. last tweet from him was six years ago, a 240p quality video about encountering an ursaring in a hut in the middle of the woods.

his usual pokeball throw resembles a baseball pitch.

exactly just as geeky as he is athletic. he enjoys the battle tree, but he still wishes for more. his dormant interest in wildlife biology and conservation that he had as a child is soon reignited and hes gonna get that PhD.

enjoys haunted locations too much. even leaf is confused by this! he decides to buy the shittiest abandoned house. which is also haunted. but reds eyes sparkle as always, man is FLEXING and determined to renovate this thing while green is frantically experiencing literally every emotion at once from jumpscares to "huh red knowing how to renovate is kinda ehehehe" then again pacing around sobbing over what were they thinking buying this house.

GREEN 💚

his and daisy's mother was a musician with a similar personality to him. his father, prof. oak's son, was more like daisy and a humble gardener w grass pkmn by his side. neither were too interested in battling or going on adventures.

he is extremely multifaceted when it comes to styles and music tastes, for example. somehow this man can combine prep, jock, geek, stoner and punk rock to his style all at once. his music taste is ALL.

nowadays his eevee is sporting the same hairstyle as him.

millennial still trying to make his podcast a big thing. his poke-twitter is fairly professional. relatively offline, not hip enough for zoomer trainers.

a francoboo. had his boy crazy era in kalos and thus more experienced than red when it comes to relationships. some of his french ex bfs still chase after him but shit bricks every time red answers the door instead.

at least he got them to take good fancy pictures of him in kalos. and he cooks kalosian recipes quite well, spoiling red with those nicely decorated crepes. but likely he experienced some paris syndome too. when you realize lumiose city kinda often smells like piss...

showed up inexplicably in pallet town one day and simply asserted herself. no further elaboration. her origins remain a mystery. she biked all the way inside oak's lab and kept biking.

diversity win! in this universe leaf is closer to being an "ash counterpart" than red is.

since shes always seeking new thrills, she lives in a van as an adult. it looks pretty amazing and cozy from the inside and plenty of room to cook! on the outside theres like. airbrushed venusaurs and wizards and venusaur wizards of all sort.

a big ball of positive meatheadness to the point where shell def blow up a lot of things thinking everythings gonna be just fine. some people want her dead for this.

absolutely will put anything in her mouth and sometimes this is terrifying. tries to always make her cooking look like something "fun" and colorful that kids would enjoy but usually fucks up the look.

on-off relationships with women, she makes a new rival with lgbt undertones every two months. popular gal like that. dont ask her for relationship advice.

quite online and very charming. types like cher on social media. still, she remains popular and loved amongst the youth.

had a geocities in 2004 where she documented her adventures (bc i want G1 to be as 2004 as possible like that). it was an eyesore to look at.
