I just really hope this Academy show has a diverse range of students. And I don't mean that just in a 'More aliens' kind of way (though I want LOTS more aliens. Have some Vau N'akat and Dals in there) - but age wise, too.

A lot of people (myself included) weren't able to start university until a later date in our lives. Maybe someone wanted a career change. Maybe someone escaped a planetary war and just started at age 29, who knows.

I would just be a little disappointed to start watching and find that the only students shown are the "Fast-Tracked-Through-Everything" crowd who started at 12 or something. (bit of an exaggeration but the point comes through)

Humans live past 120 in the 24th century Star Trek shows, who knows how long they live in the far-far future. So having them shift careers every once in a while would make sense, which would lead to adult learners in such places.

They really went hard for the mirror episodes in enterprise. They even changed the opening to something far more appropriate. Although i do admit,it would have been fun to hear upbeat faith of the heart after that "first contact" scene.
