And I think it works just as well.#Alright. It's time to confess something. I really struggled with this comic. I didn't want to draw it. Then I didn't want to upload it.#Because I knew I would be here in the tags writing and backspacing for hours trying to articulate my thoughts.#I'm going to talk about death and grief in the tags today so this is your WARNING to look away if you aren't in a headspace for it.#Sometimes in media there are scenes and characters which land on topics so specific to your wounds that it reopens them all over again.#Because here's the truth. When you've known someone like this for nearly your whole life...it doesn't matter how bad the fight is.#You always think 'We'll always have time. One day this dust will settle and we'll rebuild the bridge.'#And then the fucker dies!!! He dies and suddenly there will never ever be time to repair the rift.#Someone you loved died thinking you hated them. And part of you did just a bit. But love and hate aren't mutually exclusive.#He's fucking dead and you are left with so many broken and unfinished pieces between the two of you.#Jiang Cheng loses Wei Wuxian thinking that WWX thought they hated each other.#He's a younger brother who will one day be older than the person he lost.#Who has no one else in the world who understands those feelings of love and hate and grief.#I can't be normal about this character. I don't think he even heals me. Zero catharsis to be gained here.#I just look at his sour grape ass and think 'shit that's a little too close to home.' JC is my discomfort character.#I'm probably going to regret being this vulnerable in the tags in like. An hour. #we are #we are the series #we are series #tanfang #aou thanaboon #aouboom #boom tharatorn #my edits #weareedit #AOUBOOM MAIN LEADS WHEN???#i do appreciate them and the way they’ve been portraying tanfang #i know tan was a bit over the top 99% of the time #but every scene and touch felt so genuine #and i’m not gonna credit that to new #bc he wasn’t able to direct ppw in a way that didn’t make their kisses look a bit awkward #i know scenes have to look aesthetically pleasing in some way #and that’s why we keep having to deal the ‘no one would kiss with this much space for jesus between each other’ complaints #but like look at aouboom here #this is mostly them and their acting choices in my humble opinion #and don’t get me started on the pecks #ppw BARELY touched the other one’s lips when they had to do a peck kiss #like cmon the difference between ppw and aouboom pecks is insane #i’m sorry for picking on ppw but i’m a bit sad that some of their romantic scenes were a bit lackluster #especially that very last kiss which tbh i rather wouldn’t have seen bc it felt a bit awkward to me #but that may be just me #i need new to get a bit more frisky with kiss scenes when it comes to his directing #bc i feel like friskier kiss scenes only happen when the actors mostly do their thing after finding out what the director wants #(maybe i’m completely wrong about new but tkdkfdkddkdk)#and don’t get me wrong idgaf if there are kisses or not but if there’s a kiss scene you should commit instead of holding yourself back idk #and ppw definitely need a better director to help them achieve that bc jojo was definitely better at directing them

honestly all of them are really bad at enduring the silent treatment/you wanting to be alone after an argument but satoru and megumi are the absolute worst like satoru cannot do it he cannot have you not talking to him he will do anything he will beg he will cry he will grovel he will buy food and presents and a house and a car and sing to you outside of your window and beg and beg and beg, and megumi cannot stand the idea of you going to bed angry at him

#unscientific aside #newmann #pacific rim #thinking about them again today #it's very easy to read hermann's animosity during the movie as him being pissed off at newt for his 'completely crazy'#theories getting attention + being a massive nuisance in general #that's exactly what it looks like if you just listen to WHAT he's saying #however if you pay attention to WHEN he says it & pay attention to his face when no one is looking it's very clear there's more going on im #like the kaiju entrails comment. newt has all these tables with guts set up right next to the line & has clearly been working there for age #theres a big pile of intestinal-looking tubes over on hermann's side of the floor already! not a peep from hermann!#but then when newt tries to join the conversation he happens to throw another little squidgy bit & suddenly hermann jumps on him about it #brings up in front of the marshall how CONSTANT this unprofessional conduct is while also cutting newt off #he physically puts himself between newt & pentecost #interrupts newt every time he tries to talk #starts making snarky little personal comments AT newt to discourage him - 'don't embarrass yourself' 'yes [just get to the point]'#'this is the point where he goes completely crazy' [significant look at newt]#keeps hovering in the background looking between newt & pentecost #like. ok he is SO MAD that newt is getting pentecost's attention here. obviously #the thing that does it for me though is how sad and resigned he looks when newt finally does get to the point #this is not the face of an angry rival #this is the face of a man with ulterior motives for his animosity #i dont think newt has any ulterior motives hes aware of lol he thinks hes in a movie about 2 geniuses vying for scientific superiority #happens to be in love with hermann but hasnt realized because hes so mad at him all the time #he only realizes how much hermann cares when he offers to drift with him

i feel like jason constantly wearing a helmet has ruined his ability to control his facial expressions since he makes whatever faces he wants while in costume. but when he's out of it?

bruce says something audacious and jason will make the hardest stink face ever. tim tries to get smart with him? he's pulling a top-notch incredulous expression. someone creepy flirts with him and jason is immediately making the nastiest look of disgust that instantly makes everyone who was about to lay a move on him back up ten feet.

or sometimes it'll be harmless! batman tells red hood he did a good job after patrol and suddenly jason is looking up at him with sparkling wide eyes, lips parted, and the slightest tilt in his head like he can't believe his kinda-not-anymore dad just praised him. it's an adorable and, frankly, heartbreaking expression that makes bruce mentally clutch his chest.
