☐ Being in command of the 5th sector of the Twelve Regions, he’s the Guildmaster of quite a large guild. He had originally planned to go about work lazily and easily but, after being seen to possess the qualities of a [Meister], he was voted by his friends and became the new Guildmaster.

☐ The old Guild Master was quite the elderly lady. She was also Takaaki’s mentor. When Takaaki was hesitating to be the new Master, she was the one  who convinced him to do it.

☐ He, together with SolidS’ Shiki and QUELL’s Shu became Guild Masters at about the same time as each other so, their relationship is quite the deep one. Since it’s an age where a lot of the Masters are young, this generation has been called [The Golden Age] as well.

☐ He goes about things in a carefree manner from time to time and is friendly with anyone. One might not think him to be the Guildmaster of such a huge guild but he possesses great sense of judgment and has the ability to take action when needed. His members trust him passionately.

☐ He got injured in an accident after protecting Ouka and Issa long ago and so his left arm got burned pretty badly. The accident left scars on his arm and he sometimes hides it with an arm cover. It might look like it hurts a  lot but it seems like it’s not that much of a problem. He himself doesn’t seem to mind it much.

Heya, good afternoon. I’m VAZZY’s Mamiya Takaaki.

Together with all these men who’ll be experiencing the stage for the first time, VAZZY will be participating in the joint stage [Kiso Sekai]. With all these good looking men in a line, I’m pretty sure that your eyes would definitely get their eye candy (laughs). One of my roles is to fight against the requests of all these great people as one of the representatives of the [Twelve Regions]. Wait? Isn’t this a bit similar to my real role? NAME: Kira Ouka

☐ A young man who has supported VAZZY’s activities for a long time as he is the grandson of the former Guildmaster. He has known of the current     Guildmaster Takaaki for a while now and is assisting him.

☐ Several years ago-- There was once an incident where he and Issa went to go excavate a certain ruin when a relic started going wild. It was an     incident that, if nothing was done about it, would have caused complete     destruction of the city. Fortunately, Takaaki was there to oversee the     incident. It was because of this accident that Takaaki’s arm got burned.     Ouka, after blaming himself for Takaaki’s injury, learned a strong water element with great powers of healing and has since become a Craftsman.

☐ During the ceremony for Takaaki’s succession as the Guildmaster, Takaaki announced that he would do his work with one arm only. (By the way, Takaaki was told “The work is heavy” so for a while he was tasked to do work as an interim Director General).

☐ Ouka is awkward and can’t communicate well so he’s easily misunderstood but, he’s very straightforward.

COMMENT:

I’m Kira Ouka from VAZZY. Even on stage, my role is that of someone who works to support VAZZY’s Mamiya Takaaki. Although I have been in the industry for a long time, I have very little experience doing stage work. Speaking as someone from the same agency, I will give my all so as to not spoil everyone’s hard-work by slowing them down in any way, and to be able to show you a wonderful work.

KIDUKU ISSA

“Don’t hold back, Futaba.”

PROFILE:

NAME: Kiduku Issa

GUILD: VAZZY

BASE: Industrial City

☐ He’s a young man who’s in charge of taking care of the troublemakers… Or rather, he’s actually the Floor Director. With VAZZY being a huge guild, it’s not uncommon to think that they would have a large number of quarries and mining points. The workers working there are a bit rough so skirmishes and fights are a daily occurence. Though it is his job to calm those fights down, he uses a lot of aggressive words and actions so there ends up being more fights. It’s not rare for him to come back home all beat up.

☐ He has a habit of saying “Tell me that when you’re actually stronger,” and likes to act superior. True to his nature, his actual fighting skills are a cut above the others.

☐ The only people who can calm him down are his brother, Futaba, and the Guildmaster Takaaki. Though it’s obvious that Futaba can do it due to their closeness in age, Takaaki saved him when they were younger so he’s surprisingly honest around him.

☐ Work-wise, he and Ouka are matchless people. Though, they never seem to get on well and they always fight the moment they see each other. But, he acknowledges Ouka’s skills deep inside.

COMMENT:

This might be my first time in a play but, I plan to do it perfectly.

I’ll do my best in rehearsals so that they won’t be able to say anything about me. There are a lot of action scenes, too, so I’ll put my all into it.

KIDUKU FUTABA

“I know (laughs). Now then… Let’s get to work, Nii-san!”

NAME: Kiduku Futaba

BASE: Industrial City

☐ He’s the one in charge of controlling his older brother Issa, the man called VAZZY’s Typhoon. Though, it’s because he is skilled as well that he listens and gives advice his brother. He has a seriousness that allows him to be disciplined each and every day.

☐ Not only is he good with fighting but with studies as well. He has presented a lot of research and as such, has managed to earn the title of [Craftsman].

☐ He also acts as a combat teacher for Naosuke and a tutor for Yuma. He     continues to polish his own skills to not lose to his two students who continue to grow every day.

☐ He is friends with Procellarum’s Kai who he met at a pier despite not knowing of each other’s circumstances. It’s rumored that they sometimes talk about their friends and what they have in common.

COMMENT:

I’m VAZZY’s Kiduku Futaba.

I only recently debuted so I’m sure that there are people who are only getting to know me for the first time so I hope that you’ll recognize my name and face with this play.

[KisoSekai] might be an adventure story where we get to see the characters grow as they chase the world’s mysteries but, I promise to absorb what I learn here to grow properly in real life, too.

So that I’ll be able to call my reliable senpais my rivals! So that we’ll leave an impression on you in a good way! First, I’ll do my best with rehearsals! Please look forward to it!

OYAMA NAOSUKE

“I’m sure that there’s a reaaaaallly great treasure over there, Yuma!!”

NAME: Oyama Naosuke

GUILD: VAZZY

BASE: Industrial City

☐ VAZZY’s (self-proclaimed) anticipated rookie. His father and older brother  are both Craftsmen so, he studies and trains hard every day to be able to  follow in their footsteps.

☐ There was an incident where he got stranded in the mines after trying to help a stray kitten. Fortunately, he got saved by Takaaki. Ever since then, when he’s asked about the people he admires, Takaaki’s name comes up. He hopes to one day be a great leader, too.

☐ He’s childhood friends with Yuma so they live near each other. Their households are great friends as well and they were raised together as if they were brothers. He proudly announces that Yuma, who is handsome and can do anything, as his best friend.

☐ Recently, he got stranded in another mine after trying to help kids who got lost inside. That’s when Six Gravity’s Arata saved him. He got a red scarf from Arata as a present and proof of being a real hero. It’s his treasure.

COMMENT:

Hello~! I’m VAZZY’s Oyama Naosuke!

This is my first time in a play, and it’s a joint stage, too. [Mise-en-scène, matinee, soiree] there were a lot of fancy and technical words and I even heard someone say [If you throw that, I’ll kill you] from the sidelines! These were all things I only found out today! This time, I play a character that’s very similar to my real personality but, I hope that someday I’ll be able to perform a role that’s completely different from me!

I’ll do my best~! I’m gonna get fired up~!

SHIRASE YUMA

“I’m used to your recklessness but… (bitter smile) Don’t push yourself, okay, Nao?”

PROFILE:

NAME: Shirase Yuma

GUILD: VAZZY

☐ VAZZY’s promising rookie. He comes from a house that’s raised generations of major executives for VAZZY. His father as well is a competent board member that the current Guildmaster Takaaki relies on. After listening to his father’s stories of [experiencing the joy of having found someone to devote yourself to] he himself longs to have someone like that.

☐ He’s childhood friends with Naosuke. Naosuke’s direct actions when confronting Issa for the first time came as a shock, and at the same time, an amazement, to Yuma. It might be different from the [devotion] he seeks but he holds natural feelings of [I want to save him] towards Naosuke so he believes that what they have would be a relationship that lasts a lifetime.

☐ He admires Ouka’s perfect work and so his goal is to one day become Ouka’s assistant.

COMMENT:

Hello to everyone who came to [KisoSekai]’s performance. I’m VAZZY’s Shirase Yuma.

As I’m giving commentary, I just realized that I’m facing my struggles as this is my first stage (bitter smile). It’s my first time meeting with new words, new atmospheres, and new movements. There’s a lot for me to remember but they all give their own kind of excitement that I get lost in them. Every day is not easy but, it really is fun. I believe that this sort of excitement will really connect with everyone! I’m off to go to rehearsals today, too!

Another year is coming to a close and with it, time to reflect on the year that was.  I have been unbelievably fortunate to be able to visit some astounding places.  I thought it

would be impossible to surpass my 2016 “Instagram Top 9” that included getting a rare look at the séance room at the Stickney House, the Yuma Territorial Prison, finally visiting the Roosevelt Hotel pool in Hollywood and The Alamo while getting one final look at the Willowbrook Ballroom just weeks before it burned to the ground. I even had a little cryptid fun, looking for The Beast of Bray Road in Elkhorn, WI.

Somehow 2017 was even bigger!  So, here is the Top 10 Haunted Locations we’ve visited this year (location titles with links take you to articles we’ve previously posted on the topic):

10) Old Whitley Jail, Columbia City, IN

The Old Whitley Jail is a sight to behold. Built in 1875, the red brick portion was the sheriff’s house and courthouse, while the white portion was the prison. Currently, the site is used as a Halloween attraction.We hope this historic and haunted building is being preserved well, but that seems unlikely. It is home to at least three ghosts: Sheriff Frank Allwein, an unknown female and Charles Butler, a murdered who shot his wife in the back in 1883 before (temporarily) escaping the jail.

9) Jane Hotel / New York City

The Jane is still haunted by victims and survivors of the Titanic! Passengers and crew alike who were pulled from the icy waters were sequestered here after the famous sinking and had to stay here throughout the subsequent court proceedings. Apparently the 4th floor is the most active area where phantom crying is heard and full apparitions are seen.  The hauntings at the building serve as a great reminder that it’s often the actions and the emotions of the living that lead to residual hauntings as it’s the grieving survivors that current day visitors witness. 8) El Rancho / Gallup, NM

The El Rancho Hotel is considered one of the most haunted locations along Route 66.  Gallup itself was a moviemaking hot spot during the glory days of westerns and the El Rancho was the top destination for crews and stars alike.  It’s in the upper lobby where people have heard phantom conversations, singular voices, footsteps and laughter. The bridal suite may claim the most activity, but neighboring rooms also report objects moving on their own, doors opening by unseen hands and the unwelcome wake up call of the curtains flying open on their own at the crack of dawn.  A glance around different travel or review sites also recounts tales of unexplainable phenomena in the John Wayne room and the Susan Hayward room.

7) Queen Mary / Long Beach, CA

This was not my first trip to the Queen Mary, but it’s so incredibly haunted that it still earns a place on the list.  That, and because there was an invisible visitor in the room with us who played with the sliding chain lock in our room.  Easily something that perked me up from the edge of sleep!  Also commissioned by the White Star Line, The Queen Mary is actually 136 feet longer than the Titanic and weighed nearly twice as much.  And it seems that nearly every floor, deck and room is in play when it comes to having a paranormal experience.

6) Chelsea Hotel / New York City

In a strange coincidence, less than a day after I shot an interview with John Lydon (“Johnny Rotten” of Sex Pistols fame), I found myself at the Hotel Chelsea.  It’s a spot where so much art was created, but it will forever be thought of as the place where his band mates, killed each other.  Yes, this is the place where Sid Killed Nancy. Talking with the man at the front desk about the paranormal, his response was, “oh yeah, we’ve got it all… ghost stories, murders, suicides, murder-suicides….” An elderly tenant then walked in from the street, saw my camera gear and asked, “have you come to talk to the ghosts?” Of course, I asked him a follow-up question, which lead to him saying, “Not a lot of people here will talk about the stories, but if you’re sensitive, you’ll hear a lot.” It was a foreboding warning straight out of a movie.

5) Gore Orphanage & “Cry Baby Bridge” / Amherst, OH

The phenomenon known as a cry baby bridge (hearing phantom children crying from a bridge) is not uncommon and dates back to the La Llorona folk legend. However, this one in Ohio, over the Vermillion River, seems to be particularly active according to a park ranger who patrols the area. The road leads to “Gore Orphanage,” the ruins of which make for one of Ohio’s most haunted forests. Video and pictures from our paranormal investigation will certainly be the focus of a future newsletter. The ranger told us about a recent report where a bank of fog was hovering over the bridge.  As the driver went through it, a handprint appeared on the windshield and then smeared up the windshield and carried on along the entire side of the car.  The forest itself claims a number of different childlike paranormal phenomena despite not actually being the site of an orphanage.

4) Farnsworth House Inn / Gettysburg, PA

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Gettysburg and while I didn’t have a mind-blowing paranormal experience like the last time I was here, I did get to have the fun

experience of taking part in the monthly “See You on the Other Side” podcast hangout from this historic location.  The top floor served as a perfect sniper’s perch.  Beneath the sniper’s window, the brick wall is scarred with 135 bullet strikes.  Upwards of a dozen different apparitions are seen here, including an 8-year-old boy and a nurse (the building served as a makeshift hospital) who tucks people into bed.

  3) Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Café / Pacific Palisades, CA

It was fantastic news when we found out the endangered building that housed Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk cafe was getting a full, historically accurate renovation! It might still be difficult to do a paranormal investigation here in the future, but at least the building won’t be demolished as previously rumored. Best case scenario: some future EVPs will shed light on the last mysterious night of the troubled actress’s life. Murder or accident?  The jury is still out on the 1935 death of the beautiful blonde comedic actress.  Amazingly, we got a room-to-room walk-through of the entire property, learning what each room was in the past and what the future plans involve.  In addition to investigating this site, the nearby garage where her body was discovered should be investigated regularly.

2) Stull Cemetery / Stull, KS

Visiting this cemetery has been a goal of mine since I started getting into the paranormal in 1999.  The location is a maze of urban legends involving visits by Satan, witchcraft and stairways to the underworld.  The very rural site is difficult to research and the

paranormal claims are just about impossible to verify or test as the cemetery is guarded at night.  We were able to verify a recent (true) phenomena – the grounds apparently spontaneously combust!  While we were there on a rainy day, there were no flames, but we did find random scorch marks throughout the cemetery grounds.  (a short video will follow on this one too)

1) Silver Bridge & the TNT area / Point Pleasant, WV

It was a paranormal dream come true to visit the site of the famous 1966-67 Mothman sightings along the Ohio River.  Of course, these sightings weren’t isolated.  They were accompanied by scores of UFO sightings and something of an invasion by Men in Black who interviewed townspeople and seemed constantly out of place, even being fascinated by ordinary objects like ballpoint pens.  The varied phenomena stopped when the Silver Bridge, which spansthe river, collapsed, killing 46 holiday commuters.  Upon returning home, Wendy Lynn Staats of the “See You on the Other Side” podcast and the band Sunspot and I filmed a video discussing the differences between the film and the true story – truth was creepier than fiction in this case!
