One of Ben's key traits is that he's a believer. Him and Sammy are the classic believer/non-believer ghost hunting duo, but Ben believes in more than apparitions and werewolves and curses. This is a man who cites his "heart stats" over actual evidence. He believes King Falls is the "best small town in America," he believes the Tim Jensen who comes back is his Tim Jensen, he believes Cecil and Herschel will always be best friends even when they have month long falling outs. From the first episode, barely knowing Sammy, he just trusts that they're friends. Think about how quickly they go from strangers to best friends to brothers, just because Ben was willing to believe in both what Sammy had to say and believe in Sammy himself. Now picture what it's like for Sammy, who's listened to this guy who will believe in anything, for better or worse, go on about aliens and lake monsters and haunted forests, to read the words "Who is Sammy Stevens?" Picture what it felt like, for a guy who tried so hard to leave his past behind him and could only move on because he had such a supportive, loyal, and faithful best friend, to see those words. The first thing Sammy hears Ben doubt is him, the first thing he distrusts is his own best friend. Picture how that hurt. The world's truest believer only doubting you.

tims love langauge is for sure quality time and i think mostly he sleeps okay but he sleeps very lightly so he wakes up easily and i think he has nightmares abt the moon obviously but a lot of the time he doesnt remember them when he wakes up

jacks love language is like time spent but like talking abt things each other likes, he could listen for hours to lily talking about her latest radio show or investigation and he could listen to sammy talk about anything he just like to be able to show the people he cares about that he cares by listening and like actively taking an interest in their intrests, i think he always likes sleeping with at least two blankets, man has to be cozy as hell to sleep, its a nightmare for sammy in the summer bc sammy is naturally warm most of the time

I finished King falls am maybe a month ago and Tim Jensen and Troy still have my heart. I haven't stopped thinking about Tim's "I'm Tim Jensen, son of a bitch!" I'm just obsessed with that. Tim was an amazing character and love him with everything in me. Like poor dude got fucking snatched in the first episode and right off the bat things kept getting increasingly worse for him, not only that but he felt like it was his responsibility to handle Tim1000. Watching him finally say "Fuck this." And fight back brought so much joy. Not to mention, he went from just a well-mannered, kind, family man to a badass Deputy who wouldn't take shit from Tim1000 anymore. The last episode where we saw Tim, I wanna know what fucking happened to him. Like what was that?! Anyway, Troy. I love this small town Sheriff, this guy is so awesome. He is generally just really friendly and I love that about him. Not only his friendly personality but when he leaned out I'd the window with his gun? Oh. My. God. That and the previous scene of Tim's haunt my mind constantly. Troy always had me worried though, always in situations that were dangerous. That and his persistence with Ben to befriend him, even going as far as to get Ben another sugar glider. Anyways, I Love these guys. Yep, this is my rant, the next will probably be about Emily and Mary.
