It’s always “Xie Lian has creampie kink” and nothing else. When are we going to talk about the fact that Xie Lian popped a boner when he was thrown back and forth in the coffin, couldn’t tell up from down, got his head smacked several times and apparently he did NOT pop a boner when he and Hua Cheng were rolling around during sloppy make out session? Is one of Xie Lian's kinks *checks notes* being ruffled and tossed around, like a rag doll, like a dog toy??

FX Week Day 6: Temple
Day 6 of @fxweek :D
This is actually the very last drabble I wrote chronologically (assuming I don't write any more lol)
In Feng Xin’s humble opinion, it wasn’t fair that the things he should have been smug about were the things he hated the most. “Thank goodness for the Ju Yang temple. There’s always one of those around when we need ‘em,” Mu Qing cackled, leading them to their lodgings for the night. Of course he had a temple in this area – why wouldn’t there be a temple to the fucking fertility god in the middle of someone else’s fucking territory and – “Wait.” Feng Xin suddenly realized something. “Why do you always know where my temples are?” Mu Qing went silent.

So I may have been slightly obsessing over “To sir with love”, as one does, and a thing that has been circling in my head for the last few days is the way Tian's confrontation with his mother at the start of episode 13 and his talk with Yang at the end of the same episode echo and oppose each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Madame Li comes to Tian when he is in love, hopeful, begging for a chance at happiness, and how does she respond? She crushes it, with the revelation about Jiu and Mr. Ma yes, but mostly with everything else. You will never know love, she says, except mine. That stifling love who wants him to be someone else, that chips at who he is again and again and again.
Then Yang finds his brother (heart)broken, and Tian holds him back to confess his love, again, now in despair and shame and self loathing. And Yang response to that is as it has always been, that his brother is wonderful just as he is. You deserve love he promises, and I love you I love you I love you. A love with no reservation and for all that Tian is, a love always there.
And they both love Tian, they are both afraid and worried for him, both are going to great lengths to protect him, at this point both believe that Jiu has lied to Tian and played him. And. Yet. His mother again puts the blame on him, on who he is, makes him guilty of his own betrayal. His brother reminds him that it's not true, that the betrayer is to blame, and that the fault never laid with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so it's no surprise that Tian pushes away his mother and the prison her love has built around him, but seeks the comfort of his brother's love who has always celebrated who he is.

Wait... the war's over, Xianle has fallen and Xie Lian is called back to the heavens, and almost-certainly-Hong-er is getting into fights with the people burning down Xie Lian's temples? Huh. I thought for sure he died on the battlefield as a soldier...

i really, really want to see a whole-ass book chronicling hua cheng's challenging of the thirty-three gods. no, not the martial ones. the civil ones.
how did he do it. because the first thing that i think of is, he waxed poetic about xie lian until they gave up. the second thing i thought of was, he opened a giant zoom call with ghost city as his debate team. both are funny, but this is hua cheng we're talking about. fucking crimson rain sought flower who released twice the number of lanterns shi wudu received from all his followers, carved ten thousand statues of xie lian, jumped off of heaven after ascension because he couldn't stand their hypocrisy.
i truly believe hua cheng spent a good amount of time learning the art of debate to actually out-debate the literal gods of debate. so, mo xiang tong xiu, what did he say??
what did he debate them on??? what points did he bring up? what rebuttals and refutations did he give?? what insults did he throw because i KNOW he would not hold back on dragging those thirty three damn gods.
give us the details

started watching tian guan ci fu and i honestly can't tell if this is a slow burn or a speed run - like, on one hand, this guy's clearly been pining for some time. but on the other, he's managed to go from introduction to moving in, to tending a temple with the object of his affections in domestic bliss in record time.

hiii! i was just wondering are there any traditional thai dances that could be incorporated into a firebending character? i’m trying to make a very heavily thai inspired oc but im worried, as im not thai myself, that i may make a bad choice and use something that shouldn’t be used.
thank you!!
Thai Dances with a Fire Nation Vibe - Part 1
Going to split this post into two parts...
Before I delve into detail, I want to establish my lack of credentials on the matter, haha. I'm of Cambodian heritage, and while there's a lot of similarities between Thai and Cambodian culture due to a shared history and geographic proximity, I don't want to set myself up as a Thai cultural expert. Also, I grew up in America and in a fairly secular environment at that. My family would go to the Buddhist temple for holidays and funerals, but I don't necessarily have the best sense for what would be considered offensive in a Hindu-Buddhist context.
With that disclaimer out of the way, there's actually a Thai dance known as Fawn Tian (กวางเทียน) or "The Candle Dance". It's very ethereal and it reminds me of Zuko and Aang's firebending adventure. This type of gentle firebending would definitely have been banned in a post-Sozin Fire Nation. According to Wikipedia, the female dancers pay homage to the divinities that protect the eight cardinal points of the Earth, asking them to pass through the candlelight.
youtube
There's also Wai Khru Ram Muay (ไหว้ครูรำมวย), which roughly translates to "Mentor-Honoring Boxing Dance". Wikipedia put it best:
...the Ram muay is a series of choreographed movements often performed before a Muay Thai bout to show respect and gratitude to the fighter's teacher, parents, and ancestors... Upon entering the ring, fighters circle the ring in a counter-clockwise direction and pray at each corner. They bow their heads at every corner three times in salutation to Buddha, Dharma, and the Sangha of monks... The ram muay is a personal ritual, ranging from the very complex to the very simple, and often contains clues about who trained the fighter and where the fighter is from.
I could see this being a ritual performed before an Agni Kai, pre-Sozin. I imagine that dance was phased out of Fire Nation society because it doesn't center the Fire Lord or the nation as the object of respect.
youtube
Similar war dances (wai khru ram/ไหว้ครูรำ) are performed when wielding weapons. Below is one for dual-sword wielders, called "Standing Bhramma, Four Corners". I could see Zuko doing this one before doing anything Blue Spirit-related.
youtube
Here's two guys doing some ritualized dual sword fighting:

In part 2, I'll go over some bouncy Thai dances that are reminiscent of a flickering fire and some dances that I think the Fire Nation ladies would enjoy.
