This is by far the most unfaithful 'redesign' I've done so far. But that being said, I don't call myself a butcher for no reason.

I don't enjoy how TNR brings back dragons from the original series, as it's set far, far into the future the fact that those species still exist and are practically unchanged is well, weird to me. The fact that NIGHTLIGHTS still exist is also extremely odd to me, as they are a hybrid species they should be long gone due to the fact that Nightfuries have been long extinct (Toothless is an outlier).

This redesign is mainly just me having fun tbh. That's what most of my redesigns are. it's less what the og could've done better and more what I would find more interesting as a concept. There's quite a few tidal class dragons in the HTTYD franchise, yet there's not really any that are a 'main rider dragon.' This is one part appreciating Tidal class dragons and one part an ode to the book series.

Here’s thunder ( renamed white bullet ) he’s a 14 years old dragons who escaped the hidden world when he was a hatching with the rest of dragons since it no longer good for living because of overpopulation and not having any food source and how dragons become aggressive due to having no food, this cased a lot of problems in the world like Changing in the environment and farmers having to deal with huge lizards stealing their cows sheepes and more , this rewrite is a result of consequences of the separation choice

For anyone who doesn't know, Thunder is from Dragons The nine realms.

I probably could come up with lore on why he looks like that, but primarily, I just wanted to try this thing.

Jesus for someone who doesn't care for HTTYD3 and everything else that followed I sure do as shit draw a lot of fanart of the Light Fury and the Night Lights

Anyway I edited some of my old art and tried to experiment how the Night Lights would look with some more gradients and blended/blurry markings rather than solid patches of color like house cats. Maybe I might go with these redesigns in my AU, maybe not

While the cartoon isn't good, it didn't deserve the extreme vitriol from the fandom either. Hard not to feel a little sorry for them at this point. But no one hates HTTYD more than HTTYD fans, they've made that very apparent over the years.
