I also got really invested in the sandwich I had a few weeks ago despite it only lasting like 15 minutes. You must embrace the ephemeral. You must be willing to love things that may not love you back, that might betray you, or that may die an untimely death. Core Gems

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.

c!Joel in the first episode somehow acting more awkward than normal and unlike the last few seasons his partner doesn't leave him once, despite his bad jokes and clumsiness and complete lack of social awareness Gem stays and talks back and she does not leave and has he ever experienced that before? Permanence? Company? A friendship not built on bribes or desperation but genuine kindness

Luke Newton is being snubbed.

I don’t need to be a journalist from an industry publication to call it out. It goes beyond this one nomination, it’s how he’s been downplayed since the season dropped. So I’ll say it. He is being snubbed.

So let’s talk about Luke’s portrayal of Colin, and why it does him a disservice to not acknowledge his work.

Colin, as written for the show, shines in the hands of Luke Newton. A lesser actor would not be able to create the layered performance that Luke developed with both the brilliant authenticity of our Colin (Penelope’s Colin) and the cloying insincerity of Rake Colin back from his adventures and ready to flirt his insecurities away. He’s a deeply endearing performer, playing up Colin’s doubts, confusions and hurt in a way that makes you root for him, and cheer when he returns to himself fully in the carriage scene. That his character is so well defined over the seasons that the show was able to create a sense of longing for the “old” Colin right alongside Penelope’s longing for him, is a testament to Luke’s deep understanding of his character. He plays the discomfort Colin has with the persona he’s created, capped off by his frustrated monologue about the loneliness of playing the part.

His nuanced use of emotions stack together, turning moments that could be intimidating anger towards Penelope in the hands of a lesser actor into disbelief, pain, grief, and pleading all rolled into one. Colin was a character that is in his own head a lot, and STILL Luke managed to give us a window into what he was thinking every time.

He makes Colin Bridgerton seem like a real person, walking through life as it comes at him, in the most naturalistic acting performances in the entire series. He doesn’t chew scenery, he isn’t performative or flashy. He just IS Colin, which is such a difficult thing to achieve in Bridgerton’s heightened reality with its heightened stakes.

As a romantic lead, Luke delivers. His memetic “suicidal” jealousy and yearning, his comedic descent into awkwardness around Pen and his well earned praise for turning a controversial moment from the book into a perfectly delivered “Will you marry me or not?” that made people swoon with giddiness rather than roll their eyes at his presumption. He approached every intimate scene with a reckless disregard for his own ego, acting fully in the moment and allowing such vulnerability to come across on screens that people felt like they were intruding on a real encounter between two people going at it.

And Luke had an important role to play. The romance of each season of Bridgerton really hinges on these love declarations and he NAILS the carriage scene. The buildup of his desperate begging, his confession and then his brief despair and return to politeness when he’s told he’s just a friend was MASTERFUL. Luke goes through every emotion the heart and mind can create in the carriage scene, and he nails every single one of them, and the scene would fall apart if he didn’t, that scene was built around his emoting. And then he follows it up with the final love confession, where Luke pulls out the biggest puppy dog eyes, filled to the brim with love and pride and a quiet confidence that makes it stick the landing.

The season simply would not be the romantic season it is without Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton. Because Penelope was in love with Colin since episode 1 of season 1, Polin’s storyline for S3 is so dependent on Colin’s emotional development, and Luke’s ability to portray those changes and highly anticipated moments when his world flips upside down. We watch him fall in love in season 3, and we watch him pursue that love proactively. He is a major driving force of what makes Bridgerton S3 a romance rather than just a drama.

It’s beyond time to respect his contribution to such a popular season and such a popular couple.

It may be bold of me to say... absolutely mind boggling... crazy even

But since Scott literally vowels to be friendly to Jimmy until proven otherwise, if Jimmy doesn't piss specifically Scott off this season ( because let's be real he's already detached from the team. Big Betrayal. Enabling Cleo. 5am Pearl but it ain't 5am. IMPulse) we could be instore for a Jimmy top five placement and dare I say a win

I dare to say such words because I do not doubt his ability as much anymore because he has learned from mistakes. He has befriended the Scottish man of Fate. He has decent allies. What to genuinely secure his win I would honestly think at least one person from each faction would have to make an agreement with each other that if they're Alliance fails they just go to help Jimmy.

I would imagine Gem, Lizzie, Scott, and/or potentially Martyn, to be completely down for this arrangement that if they can't win, they want Jimmy to win and everyone else to lose.

I'd work for Gem, because at this rate she's just letting people get free kills and is generally being more patient than usual. Plus she's being really sympathetic-

Lizzie would be down for this because she wants to see Joel fail.

Scott would be down for this because it's Scott, and I'm not gonna say his betraying his allies but if his allies go off the deep end this is a second option.

And Martyn, because realistically he doesn't have to win again and if Ren dies then I know he won't hesitate to drop every single Alliance just shove it in someone's face
