The morning up until that point had been a busy rush of mother’s grabbing last minute items to send off to their children at Hogwarts, a mix of those needing dresses for various occasions as well as a rumored event at the end of the month. Things had been hectic, and Leta barely been given a chance to breathe and simply take it all in before the next request or order came in. Oh, how she yearned to be back in atelier, simply letting the creativity flow until her fingers were raw from sketching. Or to duel to pass the time, something that had been a rather dear thing to her lately. It kept her on her toes.

Her thoughts were interrupted when one of the other seamstresses squealed, pointing at the front of the store with delight. Leta found herself rolling her eyes before she had a chance to stop it only to make her way there, intend on greeting a simple customer. Emma Vanity. Anything but a simple customer. “Emma Vanity. It has been too long.” The blonde shooed away the person about to speak to her. “I’ll take care of this one.” Her voice left no doubt as she reached out to offer Emma an arm. “We’ll be in the back. Do not disturb us.”

There was unity within their interests, a bond of soft loyalty from their days on the quidditch pitch. Back then Emma had been calling the shots and like so many times before, Emmeline had answered. Quidditch once had been such a big part of her life. How had it slipped from her so easily? But of course, things had changed. The brunette could still be found flying around, plenty so. But the life of a quidditch player hadn’t been hers and her desire for the dark arts and to understand the fundamental basis or curses and their source of power just so much more enticing. It had been a question asked that Emmeline simply couldn’t say no to. “Alright. Let’s get you a stronger drink then.” It wasn’t the first time someone within their social circle or beyond had made comments of that nature. Some people simply believed in the one purpose for people like them.

While Emmeline very much found herself in agreement with the course, she rather sided with Emma when it came to the pursuit of things beyond just marriage. If duty called, anyone should follow but without making assumptions about the life beyond that. Emma was and always had been an excellent player. Locking her up in a cage would have been a crime to say the least. “Let us get that drink and celebrate not being locked in a cage like certain individuals seem to prefer.” Her arm was offered, ready to get her friend away from the nasty, close-minded people. - @emmasvanity

Emma had always been fond of Emmeline, not only because they shared similar qualities and interests, but because she liked her as a person. She had a soft spot for those who were on her team while she was at Hogwarts. In her mind, she was made to be a leader and was a born Quidditch captain. Hopefully, in a few years, she would earn that title with the Magpies as well. "I won't say no to a stronger drink. I need to block out whatever that conversation was. He corned me and at first he wanted to talk about the season, then he tried explaining to me how Quidditch is a man's sport and not fit for a lady of my standing. I tuned him out after the first two minutes so I wouldn't lose my head." She grimaced. "French lavender champagne sounds amazing, but I think i'll go with a firewhiskey for now. I need something strong."

The young doctor tilted her head before looking at Zoey with a smile, “So who started the mini O’Hara? Mum? Aunt Jackie? Or Coop?” Asked Emma amusement laced her voice. The young british doctor placed her chin in her hand as she leaned against the counter, “Oh cute scrubs by the way Zoey.” Said Emma softly.

Queer Books for Pride Month:

"All The Painted Stars" by Emma Denny

This is book two from The Barden Series and if you like badass lesbians, pretending to be knights in the 14th century, this one's definetly for you.

Presonally, I loved every second of this book.

Watching Lily and Jo go from friends to lovers was so hearwarming and touching. Their characters are incredibly distinct and well-rounded. They have good chemistry and play off each other really well.

The book is also written so beautifully and sometimes even poetically.

And I loved the journey of both characters finding their own happiness and figuring out how they want to live their lives.

I would recommend reading One Night in Hartswood first, even though this can be read as a stand-alone. It'll help fill out the blanks and give more context to the story.

Emmeline found herself smirking before the words had even been finished. Somehow she'd known exactly where that sentence would go. "And luckily I do not mind meddling. There are few things I fear and the wrath of your soon-to-be husband is not among them." The smirk turned smile. "If you do need someone who knows a curse or two, do not hesitate to let me know." Emma was a friend and for a friend she would go the length.

There it was, one of the questions the witch usually tried to avoid. "On my radar? I believe I may be a bit too much work, not enough fun for that." But of course, that was simply a lie. While she worked hard, there had been plenty of time for others. "There was someone, but the timing wasn't right." It didn't help that she'd only found out after that she was in fact not the low half-blood. "I am happy for you, though." - @emmasvanity

"Seth told me I'm not allowed to curse anyone because they made a mistake. He never said someone else couldn't curse them..." Emma trailed off with a smirk playing on her lips. "I know that what's important is that I get to marry Seth where and how I want and waiting another month isn't the worst thing to happen, but patience has never been my strong suit." Of course Emmeline knew that by now. "What about you? Anyone that's on your radar?"

Emma’s body felt as though it was vibrating from the anger that was boiling inside of her. She had let down her barriers, allowed Regina in. Something, she hadn’t done in such a long time. “You can’t even look at me, can you?!” Talking to Regina’s back, was infuriating her even more. Each second she waited for a response, felt more like dragged out minutes.

The kiss they had shared, was unexpected but god it was more perfect than Emma could ever have imagined it to be. The butterflies that had erupted in her stomach, the feeling of pure happiness that had came with it. It had given her a high, one she had never experienced before.

As Regina now turned to face her, the anger that had been taking over, turned to hurt. The look on the brunettes face was heart aching, dark orbs speaking unspoken words. Silently she stood, unable to form a word as Regina slowly took a step closer towards her. Shakily Emma reached for the hand now offered to her, the warmth of the others touch made her heart sink. “I’m scared too.” Her words coming out as a soft whisper. Regina’s hand still in her own, she took steps to close the remaining gap between them. “I’ve wanted this for so long. To feel your touch, your lips on mine.. Regina I want this.”
