Celebrate Pride with Tor Publishing Group!

Rakesfall by @adamantine
They met as children in the middle of the Sri Lankan civil war. Later, in a demon-haunted wood, an act of violence linked them and propelled their souls on a journey through the ages. As they reincarnate ever deeper into the future, a truth emerges: Some stories take more than one lifetime to tell.
Running Close to the Wind by @ariaste
In this queer pirate fantasy, Avra Helvaçi has accidentally stolen the single most expensive secret in the world. To avoid capture, he flees to the open sea, where only his on-again, off-again ex aka pirate Captain Teveri az-Ḥaffār can help him survive, profit, and become a legend.

Cuckoo by Gretchen Felker-Martin
Something evil is buried deep in the desert. It wants your body and wears your skin. Welcome to Camp Resolution, a queer conversion center where everyone leaves a different person. In 1995, seven queer teens were abandoned here by their parents, but survived. Sixteen years later, they’re scarred and broken, but back to face an evil that threatens the world.
Kinning by Nisi Shawl
In this alternate history where barkcloth airships soar and former colonies claim freedom from imperialist tyrants, the identity of the island of Everfair still wavers. Victorious in the wake of the Great War, a new threat looms. Can Everfair continue to serve as a symbol of hope for anticolonial movements around the world, or will it fall to forces within and without?

Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by @rebeccathornewrites
Can one of the Queen’s private guard and the most powerful mage in existence leave their lives behind to settle down in their new bookshop that serves tea? This cozy fantasy is steeped in sapphic romance and nestled on the edge of dragon country.
The Fragile Threads of Power by V. E. Schwab
Once there were four worlds, nestled like pages in a book, each pulsing with fantastical power and connected by a single city: London. After a desperate attempt to prevent corruption and ruin in the four Londons, there are only three. Now the worlds are going to collide anew—brought to a dangerous precipice by the discoveries of three remarkable magicians.
Now available in paperback!

The Archive Undying by @emcandon
This is a story about misplaced faith, complicated love, so much self-loathing, and yeah—giant robots. Plugged into his AI god when its apocalyptic corruption renders him unfortunately immortal, sad gay disaster Sunai takes a die-again-or-die-trying approach to things. Unending life’s tough when intimacy is somehow scarier even than either of the warring police states set on turning you into a weapon or the rogue undead mecha-fragment of your old god that wants to eat you.
Now available in paperback!
The Bell in the Fog by Lev AC Rosen
A dazzling historical mystery that dives into the shadowy, closeted world of the Navy, emerging in the gay bars of the city. It’s a whirlpool of missing people, violent strangers, and scandalous photos in 1952 San Francisco.
Now available in paperback!

Why Flame Retardants Are a Must-Have for Modern Safety Standards?

Flame retardants are compounds meant to prevent or slow down starting fires. Among these compounds, some might be dangerous for humans and animals. Scientists have created many flame retardants to prevent commercial and daily products from readily catching fire. They can cover Many objects, including furniture, appliances, building supplies, and vehicles. Read on to learn more about Flame Retardants… Describe Flame Retardants Flame retardants are chemicals that slow fire spread or keep things from setting on fire quickly. To put out fires is what "flame retardants" do, not a particular chemical. Scientists are paying close attention to flame retardants because they are used in many things, and there are worries about how they might affect health. Where Are Flame Retardants Used? Flame-retardant compounds have been included in several different kinds of products since the 1970s: Furnishings including mattresses, carpets, coverings (including vehicles), and sitting foam and covers. Computers, phones, TVs, home appliances, and other electronics and electrical tools. Building and construction materials include polystyrene, polyurethane insulation like spray foams, and electrical wires and cable coatings. These substances can stay in the environment and the body for years as they do not readily break down. Studies reveal some could be dangerous for humans and animals. Why Are Flame Retardants Significant? Studies estimate that throughout Europe, fire claims about 5,000 deaths annually. On the towns it influences, it also has significant financial effects. Therefore, limiting the capacity of fire to destroy property and life is the first important step. Apart from stopping fires, flame retardants help to limit their spread. Researchers discovered that coating objects with flame-retardant coatings allowed individuals 15 times longer to flee a space than otherwise. Key Statistics on Flame Retardants: What the Numbers Reveal Repeatedly, flame retardants are taken off the market, and their manufacture is stopped when their toxicity to humans and the environment is proven. They are formally recognized and listed under the Stockholm Convention, a worldwide treaty to protect human health and the environment from POPs. Among the first chemicals used as flame retardants listed in 2004 was Mirex; other Chlorinated compounds included PCB, listed in 2004, and PeCB, listed in 2009. HBB listed in 2009, HBCD listed in 2013, PDEs tetraBDE / pentaBDE / hexaBDE / heptaBDE listed in 2009, and decaBDE in 2017 replaced them. The chlorinated paraffin replaced the brominated compounds; SCCP was suggested for listing in 2017. PFOS was listed in 2009, PFOA in 2019, and PFHxS in 2022; fluorinated compounds were utilized shortly as flame or fire retardants. Phosphate compounds (TDCP, TCEP, TnBP) are increasingly employed to lower flammability. What Difficulties Present With Flame Retardants? In recent years, attention has been paid to flame retardants. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) are two of the various flame retardant compounds the EU has outlawed. For producers of goods like furniture, maintaining good flame retardant performance while following several rules poses a difficulty. How Do Humans Associated With Flame Retardants? One can come into touch with flame retardants in several different ways. Products can leach chemicals into the air, then bind to food, dust, and water—which can be consumed. Chemicals leak into the land, water, and air during production or application. In low- and middle-income nations, burning or disposing of electrical and electronic equipment (e-waste) can damage the environment with harmful substances. The Possible Health Consequences Connected To Flame Retardants An area of ongoing study is learning how and in what quantities these substances could affect human health. While adding flame retardants to some items can have advantages, mounting scientific data indicates that many of these compounds may harm humans and animals. Adverse health impacts could be endocrine and thyroid disturbance, immunotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, cancer, and effects on fetal and child development and neurobehavioral functioning. Who Is Most Vulnerable To Flame Retardants? Children's brains and other organs are still developing; hence, they are more sensitive to harmful consequences. Play close to the floor and hand-to-mouth behavior help to raise children's chances of coming into touch with dangerous chemicals. Several studies have shown that children have more exposure than adults. The general population's chronic exposure to flame retardants, as well as indications of neurotoxicity from animal research, cause questions about neurodevelopmental implications for every individual. What Is The Future Of Flame Retardants? Stahl Integra® will become ever more important as government rules on flame retardants tighten in many nations and call for creative and flexible solutions. The modular toolbox concept lets producers customize the protection they provide so that their goods satisfy particular environmental and safety standards. As the sector works for more sensible and flexible solutions, we will witness further decreases in the following years in flame retardants' ecological and health effects. What Is The Role Of ICL Industrial Products? Developing breakthrough flame retardant (FR) solutions that improve quality of life while prioritizing human safety, sustainability, and forward-looking innovation, ICL's technology revolves mainly around safety. Across many uses, ICL's flame retardants provide outstanding fire resistance and sustainability. The company works closely with its consumers to fulfill their needs and maximize their applications. ICL Industrial Products carefully reviews flame retardants catered to specific industry needs. Using their SAFR® system guarantees the early stages of product design's most suitable flame retardant choice. Read the full article

Finding Catharsis in the Mundane: The Power of Simple Hobbies
Things have been quite stressful especially in this time of extreme heat and finals. One thing that always keeps my mind off things is my hobbies. These are drawing, working out, reading and different types of sports. These types of activities to me are extremely cathartic and keep me from going crazy. I never usually take pictures of my work or hobbies, but when I do it always feels amazing looking back at either the progress or the stagnancy ( encourages me to do more). Though these are just mundane things for every human being, doing these things really makes me feel grounded to reality.
Growing up I always thought why do these adults have these weird and really unique hobbies? Why does my mom take a picture of every little moment? I am now just having a great realization and a good sense of why people do these things and it's because they are bored and passionate. People really do have so much free time, some of us spend it in front of a phone, laptop or pc. Though the time to me that really counts is the time spent doing activities that produce serotonin rather than dopamine. Do not get me wrong there are times that there is a need for some dopamine induced activities, but there is an importance of awareness and discipline to avoid being fully consumed. Furthermore, going back to the topic , my hobbies really do mean a lot to me and I can’t imagine continuing to continue living on without these things. And taking a picture of these mundane little things does lift up the spirit especially looking back at them
First and foremost, working out provides me with a structured release of pent-up energy and stress, allowing my mind to clear and my body to feel invigorated. Whether it's lifting weights, running, or practicing yoga, each session serves as a cathartic escape from the pressures of daily life, reinforcing both my physical and mental resilience. I used to be very unhealthy and having a consistent workout routine really changed for the best
Next is drawing. Drawing gives me a way to unwind and clear my head, letting me focus entirely on the lines and shapes in front of me. It’s a simple act that calms my mind and helps me process my thoughts in a quiet, satisfying way. I really got into this hobby due to "stressful times" In the end of it the sum of us is our actions.

KISSING YOU ON THE LIPS !!!!!!!!!!!! (/p <3)
ok ok ok hi. HI EVERYBODY HI YOU. im going to spend a moment telling u abt these characters i made for a podcast im working on !!! it’s called the deathcap (tdcp is the tag i use) like the mushroom because :-) because >:-) ITS ABOUT MUSHROOMS !!!!!!
the main character is arden (they/them). they’re a kid (16-17) who lives in this small town. they run this podcast and tell the listener about all the spooky paranormal happenings in town, which… usually isn’t much…. until it is ! but this is bad !! bc it’s so much bigger than they could’ve ever originally imagined and they get super hurt over it in the process. they go thru this type of villain arc and turn against everyone they knew and loved and it is just so delicious to me. i wrote them kinda as a metaphor for neurodivergency and being fundamentally different than everyone around you and how that can eat u up inside yk? i love them so much they feel so demonized and cast out <3…
but regardless arden has a best friend named vinnie (he/him) who is …. kind of a weirdo. he’s an odd guy. he just talks and acts kinda weird and is always cold. but they’ve been friends since they were kids n stuff they accept each other’s quirks. vinnie supposedly doesn’t even believe in the supernatural but goes on ardens podcast sometimes! they’re super close friends and tell each other everything except for when they don’t.
they’re characters both with narratives about feeling like the wrong person in your own skin but it goes in completely different directions for each of them!! once the story is more refined, it’s gonna include stuff like zombies (kinda) and rebirth and nature and decay etc etc etc im so excited abt it <3 they are everything to me
#tysm for asking !!!!! i love talking abt my characters <3#ill rb this with some references later lol i don’t have my sketchbook on me rn </3….#or ill make some picrews rq#it’s so hard to explain their story without spoiling everything LOL but i love them so so much#tdcp#ocs#vinnie#arden#asks

TDCP takes charge of new tourist site at Koh-e-Suleman.
MULTAN: Mubarki Top – a newly developed tourist site, at Suleman Mountain Range, that is over 7,000 feet above the sea level, in Dera Ghazi Khan has been handed over to the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP).

As many as seven new tourist sites titled ‘Park Ways’ were being developed on the grand Suleman Mountain Range including Mubarki Top, Kalgayee, Baarthi, Mat Chandia, Hik Bai, Anari Top, and Sanghar, said DG Khan tourist information center in charge Sheikh Ijaz on Tuesday.
“Buildings department has handed over three sites to TDCP after completion of work and these sites have now been open for public,” he said. “Work on the remaining four sites was in progress and would be completed by June 2021,” he added.
“All these sites would have rest area, tuck shops, and other facilities,” Ijaz said.
He maintained that Mubarki Top was a lush green area in contrast to mostly dry looking Kohe Sulemaan and it rains here every other day, and snow falling in winter nights was a routine.
“Access to Mubarki Top was only possible by jeep,” he remarked.
Ijaz said Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has been taking a special interest in developing the scenic area of Suleman Mountain Ranges on the pattern of Murree to improve tourists influx and create new earning opportunities for the poor tribal people. APP
