Christmas Break Vinyl Indulgence!
Tumblr media
Hi all,
Happy New Year everyone, hope you all had a great Festive period, I had a rare 10 days at home so decided to take home a system that I wanted to test in our very small 200 year old snug as I am planning to set that up as an intimate listening room once the builders have finished sorting out the damp, it will be vinyl only and a total contrast to our PMC BB5 SE room, so I took home the DeVore Fidelity O/Baby speakers and partnered them with the Audio Research I/50 amp, Rega Planar 8 and Chord Symphonic Phono Stage, I wanted to keep it all well matched without going too bonkers on cost, firstly to see how the room coped acoustically and would I be happy at this level or would I constantly be thinking about upgrading.
I posted daily updates on Social Media on my vinyl choices so I thought I would quickly post it all on here for anyone who doesn't do social, I did fire up the BB5's at one point though as I really wanted to hear the Atmos mix of Peter Gabriel's i/o album on the new Reference Magnetar UDP900 Universal player + try some other SACD's as well as the David Bowie documentary 'Moonage Daydream' I highly recommend this if you are a Bowie fan.
I must admit firstly the system sounded amazing in this room, I mean really amazing, to a point where I actually couldn't imagine it sounding any better although like everyone who is into HiFi I did start wondering what a Planar 10 or even the Naia would sound like and could I actually fit in the DeVore O/96's but in reality I should just go with this system once all the work is finished as I spent hours in that room listening to around 4 albums a day, more if I had the time, certainly been a while since I have listened to that much music, it was so much fun.
Now we just need to get the room finished so I can install is all permanently.
Please find my vinyl selection below -
We sre only allowed to upload 30 pics on Tumblr so please find link below for the rest of the selection on the blog on our website -
Cheers,
Paul.

Glad to help :)))
If you want, there are more terms that possible you could explore? I dont identify as most of these so i may get something wrong but it is something to look into
Demigirl is feeling between fem genders and nonbinary genders. As far as im aware it is one feeling that is blended together, when in my experience bigender feels like two very different gendered feelings. Obviously you can still be bigender if you do feel maybe they are one blended gender if it feels right. Also i might be wrong in saying that it is one blended gendered feeling, as i said, im not fully sure on this but you can search it if you would like.
Genderfluid can fluctuate between many genders. I identify as genderfluid to represent how my genders might feel more strongly one day and the other another day (however that might be more genderflux but i personally prefer genderfluid)
Genderfae is like genderfluid but only between fem and non binary genders and not masc genders. Again, im not sure if this and genderfluid are one gendered feeling that changes but again, if you want you can use them two in the way i use them
If you feel that perhaps you have more than one or two genders, there are more multigender identities.
For example trigender (three), pangender (many), onmigender (all) and there are probably way more multigender terms that i haven't heared of. Again im not sure if those definitions are correct but you can search them up if you want
And i say the way i experience bigender are two distinct feelings, but in truth, some days i feel like they are really blended or that i am only one of them. Everyone's experience is different and if you think a term fits even though you dint fit into exactly what the definition means, you can use it! My bigender experience might be completely different to someone else's even if they also identify as female and male the same way i do
I hope i haven't overwhelmed you, i just thought i could give another nudge in some other things to explore (there may be other genders ive never heared of that fits you so perhaps just searching "gender identities" can help if those ones dont work for you)
Also i get the unsupportive parents thing, my parents are highly transphobic. You will probably have to keep things like this in hiding if you sre scared about them finding out and it probably will suck so im sorry about that, but if you have friends you can tell them to call you by that during times where you're not around people you dont want to know and ask them to just keep it a secret from these people. Ive also made pronoun braclets that are subtle by just being the colour and telling my friends which one is which, so if you want you can try and make more discreet things
Anyway stay safe and have fun exploring your gender Fia and if you do find that you are bigender, i welcome you fully into the community!
I want to be girlboy. I want to be boygirl. I want to be Mrs. boy and Mr. girl. I want to be dude in a skirt and that bitch in big pants. I want to be, 'oh she's my husband' and 'oh, he's my wife.' I want to be a masc girl and a femme boy. I want to be both, at the same time. You know?

Kaminoan: Phonetic Inventory and Counting System
While discussing clone things with @daitoshi, they offhandedly mentioned the weirdness of the number of clones in a batch (and incidentally the general structure of the GAR). Apparently this was all the inspiration I needed to decide I was going to create base-4 counting system for the Kaminoans. 32 clones per batch seems pretty random, but it is just 2 x 16 (2 x 4^2), so in a base-4 system, it’s no more random than say 200 (2 x 10^2) is in base-10. Base-4 also ties in thematically with DNA irl, so that’s fun for a bunch of cloners!
I’ve put together a guide to my process and rules for the enjoyment of all. And by enjoyment, I mean frustration because this counting systems it incredibly upsetting.
We normally assume most human counting systems are base-10 due to our (standard) number of fingers. How the heck to do count to four with three fingers, then?? Well, this is how Imma say the Kaminoans count on their fingers:
Tumblr media
Does it make sense? I guess. Does it seem probable? Not really. But the joy of conlanging and worldbuilding for aliens is you can always just be like, “Whatever, their alien brains are built differently.”
Anyways, we’re gonna want some names for these numbers, so we gotta come up with some mouth sounds to represent them.
We do not have a lot of canon (or legends) words for Kaminoan stuff, and what we do have is of course plagued by the same issue that every collection of made up words in SW suffers from: absolutely no internal consistency. Okay, well maybe there is some internal consistency, so let’s look at what we got:
PEOPLE
Taun We Lama Su Kina Ha Ko Sai Nala Se Erla Halle Burtoni
PLACES
Tipoca Timira Derem Baran Wu Su Des Slici Tal An Glascretia Razoral
STUFF
aiwha nahra
AIWHA POD STORY
Protas Melkorr Kikla Thalina iiaa oii sso uded
DAITOSHI
Sre Len
Taun We, Lama Su, Nala Se: these are iconic of the vibe I want the phonetic system to embody. So, what features from this data set should I keep for the phonetic inventory?
I dismiss Glascretia and Razoral outright since they have a very “fake English vibe.” Same with Protas and Melkorr, since they just seem to be plays on Proteas (Greek myth) and Melkor (Tolkien) respectively. Also, I throw Halle Burtoni right out the window because every other Kaminoan we meet sounds like their name came from the same language. What the heck happened here?? Whatever language she’s named in, it’s not the one I’m building.
Get rid of thalina, too; I don’t like the <th> just because. Additionally, I’m not sure what the <h> in nahra represents (is it silent? pronounced? part of a digraph with <r>????), so we’re gonna ignore it for now. Finally, the terminal <d> in uded doesn’t fit the vibe I want to go for. I consider keeping the terminal <s> in Su Des but eventually decide against it.
From Tal An and Erla, I decide that approximants can occur finally.
I take <c> and <k> to represent the same phoneme.
For absolutely no good reason, I have always assumed the <wh> in aiwha was inspired by Maori, so I’ll count that as one phoneme. However, I decide to have all approximants have a voiced and voiceless form. So, I end up not using the Maori rendering anyways.
Great, overall we’ve got what looks like it could be a very CV syllable structure. In order to match the vibe I’m going for, I won’t complicate that too much.
We have several C<l> consonant clusters, so we’ll say that it can occur initially. And since we said all approximants can occur finally, we’ll just say all approximants can occur in this position, too. Plus, since I’m mostly just doing this project to amuse Daitoshi, this also allows for their OC’s name to be permissible in the system.
Now, what is going on with these words from the Aiwha Pod short story?? Suddenly double letters. Okay. We’ll say <a> and <i> have long forms, and then we’ll say <u> does as well for a more balanced system. Same with <s> and then <h>, again for balance. Do these words represent diphthongs? Meh. I’ll say no, they’re bisyllabic because I want them to be.
After all that, we’re left with :
m /m/ n /n/
p /p/ b /b/ t /t/ d /d/ k/c /k/
s /s/ ss /sː/ h /h/ hh /hː/
lh /l̥/ l /l/ rh /ɻ̊/ r /ɻ/ wh /ʍ/ w /w/
i /i/ ii /iː/ u /u/ uu /uː/ e /e/ o /o/ a /ä/ aa /äː/
ai /äɪ̯/ au /äʊ̯/
(C1)(C2)V(C3)
C1 = -approximant if occuring in cluster
C2 = +voiced approximant
C3 = +nasal or +voiced approximant
Yay! Let’s work on naming some numbers now.
We’ll obviously want unique names for 0-4. Additionally, the number 9 is very significant in the GAR; squads consist of nine troopers, so every other division ends up divisible by nine. Cool, let’s give 9 a unique name and let it play a role in counting. I also give 36 and 144 unique names, thinking of things like “dozen” and “gross” and “score” in English. Aside from these, we’ll want the various powers of 4 to be something simple.
Futz around with the phonemic inventory, maybe drop it into a word generator, and here are the unique number name around which all other numbers will be based:
Tumblr media
And there you have it! The basics, at least. I’ve worked out the names of number 0-64 with which, as long as you know the powers of four, you can work out any number you’d like up to 206 billion~!
Additionally, I decided to create a numeral system (I mean, it’s only four characters, so why the heck not?) very loosely inspired by the structure of the DNA nucelobases (adenine, guanine, thymine cytosine), so here’s that:
Tumblr media
And here is a list of the names of all of the numbers through 64! The general rule is simply that if the smaller integer appears first, it is multiplied by the following. If the larger integer appears first, it is added to the following. Aside from a few of the earlier numbers, it’s pretty regular! 9 lends its name to its multiples, and of course 36 (and 144) have unique names, as mentioned above. After hitting 64, the numbers repeat (the same way that they do in English after 100).
Tumblr media
*both rai hhel and kwado lho are used, though the latter is rarer
Aaaand for examples in this system, I thought I’d convert some clone designations into it :3
Rex 7567 → 1312033
each digit: lho hhel lho kwa abo hhel hhel
full number: rai hhelto lho whenau kwaiil hhelte hhel
abbreviated: tehhel tekwa abo hhelte hhel
wooooow you can immediately see why they wouldn’t go with base-4 designations haha
Fives 5555 → 1112303
each digit: lho lho lho kwa hhel abo hhel
full number: rai te lho whenau kwaiil hhelrai hhel
abbreviated: telho tekwa hhel abo hhel
maybe we will just call him “Telhon” in Kaminoan :)
Cody 2224 → 202300
each digit: kwa abo kwa hhel abo abo
full number: kwate whenau kwaiil hhelrai
abbreviated: kwate dokwa abo abo (or perhaps “abora” for “double zero”)
I accidentally made his name start with “Kwate” which sounds enough like his nickname I suppose :)
And that’s it! If you read this far, um, thanks (unless you’re Daitoshi: curse you for inspiring me to create this). idk why you would, but anyone is welcome to use this for whatever purpose. Would love to see what you come up with if you do, though, so hmu~! ;)

All of V3. Chapter by chapter. How did you react?
This is kinda tough to answer because it would be hard to say all of this in a generalized summed up way since there's a lot happening in the games but..
Chapter 1: I knew Akamatsu did it and I also knew Akamatsu didn't REALLY do it, but I continued to doubt myself saying "no...it cant be that right?" So when it came time to accuse Akamatsu I geniunely didn't want to, it almost felt like a bad dream being realized. And i loved it. Then of course, claire de lune got me enotional. I think ch 1 was incredible in every sense of the word and the only thing I would change would be the monokub interuption at the exceution
Chapter 2: i loved chapter 2 for the most part and thought it was the best second chapter in the series. Again, i figured out the murder plot pretty quickly but I really liked tojo so i didnt want it to be true. I hated tojos plottwist though, it pulled me right out of the immersion. Im aware its atupid and over the top as evidence that things are falsified, but it still bothers me. Her execution was fantastic in all the cruelest ways, i feel like she got the harshest punishment.
Chapter 3: i was kinda bored most of this chapter, in a somewhat half interested state? I liked the idea of there being two killers with one being left, but obviously that didnt happen. I liked yumenos story a lot and how ouma pushed her to cry. I hated the plottwist and the execution of the trial a lot. The second half felt useless to me because i knew Shinguuji did it. I was hoping after rethinking the evidence another name would come to mind and it never did. I also hate shock horror with a passion so, since he was the plot device for that, Shinguuji was the only character i was very glad to see be executed
Chapter 4: i thought chapter 4 was rather intense thematically. I wasnt really into the virutal world schtick, but the characters within just felt like....everything was rushing to crash. I felt geniune pressure from everyone to find the killer or let everyone die in a way the other games didnt manage to make me feel. I still think that Saihara should have been a target during this chapter, it would have fit really well themeatically. The plot twist of gonta broke my heart and i did tear up at his goodbye, and I knew from the very beginning that Ouma was lying about not caring about Gonta
Chapter 5: i loved chapter 5 altho it really frustrated me because I knew what Ouma was planning quickly, so I wanted to yell at Saihara to stop solving the mystery. It was frustratingly sad watching Ouma's death and efforts be wasted, and having no one left to really care about him besides Saihara's vauge intruige. It hurt. It hurt a lot, which I enjoy.
Chapter 6: when i realized I was right about Akamatsu not killing Amami I went insane, texting my friend in a huge high going "I WAS RIGHT!!" because I couldn't believe I called an end game twist like that. The rest of the trial however felt like it was droning on and on. The actual main game plot twist made me go ":/" not just because of the "it was never real" twist but also because of the denial for the other peices of the series. However as time went on I began to understand the meta-textual narative that I was meant to be dissapointed in order to end the suffering, and I began to like the ending a bit more. Its odd really. I hate it and i love it. I like the narrative its telling, but i dislike the execition, but i cant think of how to fix the execution because it fills that narrative.
Altho i must admit, I thought right away at the ending that there was an implication of positives. That saihara would find the truth about HPA on his own terms. In general..my feelings in this chapter sre complex, but thats because it stopped being about how the player feels and how the participants feel.

Morrigan Crowley, the blunt and calculative Dorm leader of Gaelicia is a flirtatious and precise student who despite her frightful reputation can be your greatest ally or enemy, just don't cross her or else you may find yourself cursed the rest of your life.
Appearance:
Tumblr media
Morrigan is a towering teenage girl with skin as pale as snow, with silky wavy hair as black as a raven. Her hair is rather messy and is usually seen unbrushed. But despite the bangs and hair that casts a shadow on her angular face, her yellow eyes still glow from the darkness. Bringing a chilling sensation with just with a glance, as if she already knows your fate before you do.
And as a side note, wrapped around the crown of her head is a purple headband with golden clasps which bound it. Keeping back some of her hair from completely covering her face. As tucked within them are three black feathers.
Morrigan often has an easy going confident expression on her face. As if everything is a game to her no matter the situation or predicament she finds herself in. Like she knows and controls what will happen.
Morrigan is a very tall, lithe, and curvaceous girl with toned muscles from her love of fighting and general club activities.
Across her pake skin she's usually seen wearing dark purple face paint that arcs all around her face, down her neck and presumably her arms as well.
And usually in her hand or at her back, she wields a black razor sharp spear with purple hues across its glass like appearance. It's the form her stave took when she became dorm leader.
Personality:
Morrigan is a very whimsical and calculative person, often acting very playful or flirtatious with others but just as well, she can be very shrewd. Often hiding meanings behind words, or alluding to something she will do or has planned later on.
But despite her easy going demeanor, she can be rather fight loving, heck even when she was young she had a love of fighting or challenging people. It really gets her blood pumping and her mind snapping to life.
She is a rather cocky person, often seeing many things as a game or simple to be completed. But some flaws that have always been with her have been one, her vengeful nature, if she feels slighted, betrayed, insulted etc, she will often seek revenge or payback with deadly efficiency. Sometimes even warning or messing with people by foreshadowing what she will do.
And for her second flaw, she will hold a grudge for years on end, she will remember every insult, trick, jab, and disrespect you've given to her. And she will plan accordingly. Just thinking and plotting on a fitting punishment.
It's these jagged parts of her personality as well as how menacing and powerful her magic feels that usually keeps people away from her despite how kind and helpful of a person she can be. People often see her as a bad omen without ever really going to meet her themselves. So she often takes it up herself, acting flirtatious, instigating meet ups and slowly crafting friendships. But these sre often few and far between.
And as a fun fact, she took her father's quite to heart a while ago, and she can be a very helpful person, often trying to twist luck in someone's fortune if they ask or need it.
Summary: calculative, vengeful, playful, and helpful
Backstory:
Morrigan in her early days wasn't loved by well anyone, not even her own biological parents loved her. They saw her as a bad luck charm, a curse, and especially when her magic really began forming and leaking out. The weight and chill of it made morrigan seem like death in carnate. So one day, on a trip into town, Morrigan's parents abandoned her. Leaving her alone with no one to help or protect her. So she did the best she could, learning to fight, both with fists and magic alike as no one cared for her.
For the longest time she clawed and fought for life at every day, only being comforted by the crows who guided her. And ultimately she found the biggest crow of all. Dire Crowley, who despite towering over her, age trued to suplex the headmaster and steal his stuff. But thankfully, Crowley calmed the child and adopted her, taking her in as hus daughter. She certainly looked close enough after all, no one would question him too much.
And as Crowley's daughter Morrigan after warming up to the old crow often hanged around him as much as possible. Especially as a child with her getting an even better handling of her magic as she would often shapeshift into a crow and hang out with her papa bird as she calls him. Crowley like you can guess flooded morrigan with love and affection and spent as much time as he could with her as he tried to balance his headmaster duties. But often time due to it, he was at times too busy for certain celebrations and events in her life sadly.
All in all Morrigan had a good childhood after Crowley found her. But over the years thabks to her experiences at a young age Morrigan grew up too fast for her peers. She could at times act the part, but when she wasn't able to this often left her alone. Or if not that, other kids interacted with her in a wary manner. Plus her unnerving magic didn't help matters either. People often said she felt like death, and heck due to it people often messed with her and teased her, and especially so with how her last name and her father had a reputation. People teased her saying her father was horrible at his job, at how he was probably a terrible father too. How could one man possibly lead students into a 100 year losing streak etc. So in a way to kash back out, she developed a vengeful part of herself, often insulting back or making harsh punishments fir ger peers if they disrespected her or her father.
Though I will say, eventually she did gain a best friend/rival/enemy. Both arent even sure after all this time. To make a long story short Morrigan found a friend in Cú Chulainn, who also became her vice dorm head at PSU.
Unique Magic: Weaver of Fate
Anything morrigan touches, she can cast a cure or blessing upon that object or person. Weaving it with large boosts of good fortune or bad fortune. As an example, for bad fortune say she touches a piece of sand, with bad fortune the spot she touched now has a mile deep hole in it when someone walks where she last touched. Now for good fortune, if someone is touched by her for good fortune, if they walk ib the beach they'll be very likely to find potentially a hundred madool or something else of value.
This was born from Morrigan thinking if her past and no longer wanting to be unable to guide her life or fate. She wanted to be the weaver of her own fate no matter what.
Trivia:
She is based on The Morrigan from Celtic mythology
She has gained Crowley's habit of saying things like "for I am so kind/gracious" when she does things for people
This is more a headcannon I have but Crowley's mask is very prescious to him because morrigan made it for him and with the beginning of her unique magic appearing, she blessed it with good luck. And even beyond that addition Crowley always wears the mask as much as he can
Morrigan, can't handle the sun that well for long stretches of time. She will literally call it her age old enemy and give it the bird, sometimes literally if she feels like it
She is the president of the gladiator club, people used to say oh you used your unique magic to win, but morrigan not having any of that, while also taking a page out of her vice heads book, challenged the whole team to a battle one on one. No magic or help.
Depending on how she's feeling in the morning and what she wants to do today she switches her face paints design and color depending on her mood
Morrigan went to PSU mostly because she felt like it was time for her to try leaving the nest so to speak. Though she had to comfort her papa a lot with how emotional he got from pride. His little chick was growing up so fast.
Though when able Morrigan still visits her papa bird, and always as a crow

The Untamed, episode 24 - watching notes
Happy Wangxian-bunny-fest everyone! 🐇💐🐇 Because that's what I have to think about every time I see an Easter bunny these days. :D
We're picking up where we left off, with Shijie's and Jin Zixuan's future being decided for them
And everyone looking distinctly uncomfortable
WWX said fork the patriarchy and I respect that!
He also probably just violated about a hundred rules of conduct 😂😂😂
God, I adore him just not giving a flying fork anymore
(Yes I'm cursing good place style now, because tumblr 🙄)
Ooooh, I hadn't realised that lwj had stood up for this whole exchange for no reason whatsoever. Now that's telling :D
I love the fact that Jiang Yanli is good and modest and dutiful, but she has her own opinion and here, she acts on it, even though it's in defiance of what most of the cultivation world wants.
I love how the short haired minor clan leader whose name I have forgotten just acts as a commentator the whole time :D
What is a "Baifeng Mountain crowd hunt"?
Okay, the background "whisper" explained it to me. Thanks random cultivator extra #34
Whaaaat is JGY planning? 🧐
Honest question: can someone explain the hat to me? Is it a Jin tradition? Or is it somehow indicative of jgy's new status?
I just had a though about jgy and wwx that I'm not quite sure is entirely formed yet, but I have to share anyway. I feel like their journeys might be a parallel of each other, but in opposite directions ... if that makes sense? Like both were born outside of the clan world. Wwx got accepted into it through the kindness of someone who loved his mother. Jgy got rejected through the cruelty of his own father who very much did not love his mother. Wwx grew up a respected cultivator, jgy was an outsider and always looked down upon as the sun of a prostitute. Then they witness the war against the Wen clan. Wwx sacrifices everything to save the ones who took him in. Jgy betrays and almost kills the ones who took him in. Wwx comes back more bitter about the cultivation world than he has ever been and seems to only care about his own moral judgement and the wellbeing if those closes lt to him anymore. The last thing he seems concerned about his status. Then there is jgy, who at this point has murdered, lied.and killed innocent civilians, but also aided those who were kind to him (i.e. lan Xichen), and st least partially this is how he climbed the socisl ladder on the cultivation world. In other words, these two are both outcasts at some points in their lives, but their reaction seems to be almost opposite each other. For wwx it seems to be to fight the system, for jgy to adapt and survive and use the corrupt system to his advantage.
Moving on ...
Oh no ...
I feel like jgy actively acting again wwx kind of fits my rant about them from earlier
Oh he is good! He just planted the idea that wwx has the last shard of the Yin iron in Jin guangshao's head and then acted as if he was speaking reason. And the idiot completely fell for it because it flatters his ego.
Who is that spy going to be I wonder?
Oh no, lotus pier looks different 😥
Cloud Recess!!!!! I've missed you :')
Lan Xichen's long suffering sighs are a mood :D
Oh I see where this is going. First Jin Guangshan now Lan Quiren. The old guard seems to be extremely displeased with what wwx is doing.
Also, it must be very strange to all involved that suddenly, lwj is the one having yo be reminded of the rules
Character development, man!
"Do you know why I wouldn't let you leave with Xichen?" *dramatic zoom from the side* dramatic zoom from the front* ... *drumroll* ... "Leave now" 😑
IT'S BECAUSE HE DISAPPROVES OF YOUR BOYFRIEND! THAT'S WHY!
I feel so proud of Jiang Cheng right now :')
I'm so here for Lan Wangji's crisis of faith right now! Character development!!!
Jiang "tough love" Cheng
I kind of understand his frustration. From his perspective, it seems as if wwx is abandoning them
Lan Xichen's fond amusement with wwx will never not be endearing
Also, wwx is caring for the Jiang guests after all :D
Um ... does wwx have an alcohol problem at this point? 😕
That can't be healthy
I love the moral argument Lan Xichen makes here and it shows how one set of moral beliefs can come from entirely different places. His uncle seems to believe in rules for the rules sake, whereas lan Xichen cites a more humanistic argument: rules exist because we exist in a society and for society to function for all, especially the weakest, there most be rules to reign in behaviour that would be harmful to others. That's why breaking those rules harms not only one person, but society as a whole. My question for him then would be: But what of those rules themselves are harmful?
I stopped the stream to type this. Let's see what wwx has to say :D
Okay, lan Xichen isn't finished yet
Honestly, I think in terms of his combination of character traits, lan Xichen is the most genuinely good person among our characters. He is both well-meaning in his goals and measured in his means. He treats everyone fairly and although he loves his live by the Lan sect rules, he is not unkind in applying them to others. The fact that he can see wwx's good heart, even though they are such fundamentally different people, speaks volumes.
I'm genuinely wondering why wwx doesn't tell anyone why he can't do traditional cultivation anymore. (I'm still pretty convinced he gave Jiang cheng his golden core. I even went back to the scene where he showed Wen Qing the diagram and that was as good as a confirmation.) I get that he wouldn't tell Jiang Cheng and wouldn't want it to be known by most, for Jiang Cheng's sake alone, but why doesn't he at least tell one person who could vouch for him. I guess wen Qing knows by default, but she is part of the Wen clan and thus pretty low on the social ladder right now. He doesn't want Lan Wangji to know because he doesn't want to drag him down with him. I get that, too, even though it's bullshit. But Lan Xichen would be a good choice. A) because he is even-tempered and wouldn't act rashly and b) because I'm pretty sure that he would even aid wei Wuxian in shielding lan Wangji.
At the end of this rant, I kind of realised why Wei Wuxian doesn't tell anyone. It makes perfect sense, character-wise. He absolutely strikes me as someone who thinks he has to bear all his burdens alone. And now that he probably thinks of himself as doomed anyway, he might as well run with it. :/
Again, all the awards to his actor. He does an amazing job at giving wwx an aloof and cocky air that crumbles the moment nobody is looking. Way to breakmy heart ... 😔
I honestly believe Jiang Cheng is also worried about Wei Wuxian. He's just never learnt to separate worry from anger
Wei Wuxian is so far from okay :/
Btw, are the light colours that Jiang Cheng and especially Jiang Yanli sre wearing indicative of the fact that they are still in mourning?
I know I've said so before but the only one he is even remotely himself around is Shijie. Even as he tries to put on a good face, at least he lets himself cry, too. He acts almost childlike around her. She's more mother to him than sister, I think
Oh God, little Wei Ying on the streets 🥺🥺🥺
"You were born with a smiling face. Always smiling. You never mind too much about any sorrowful things. No matter how bad your situation is, you can always be happy." But he can't anymore, can he? He's just playing the part at this point, to varying degrees of success.
"Why do you still act like a kid?" See, Shijie thinks so, too
Oh god, the question why one would like someone so much! I'm so anxious to find out, when wwx has any inkling of his own feelings, because at least in the show, this seems to be a very good moment, tragically. Because the way he tries to shield lwj from harm? That's not the way you treat an old school acquaintance.
Very random observation, but wwx's sleeves are mismatched. One is studded in silver, the other one has a simple leathery pattern :D
Aww, the banter between wwx and jc makes me almost tear up at this point, even though they're acting like 6 year olds and I wonder how Shijie kept her sanity for all these years 😅
At the library pavilion at Gusu: "Please don't report this to Hanguang Jun." Lol :D
Is he purposefully going behind his uncle's back right now? 😱
"It seemed not so hard to go back to the old days." That is a very ominous sentence to end an episode on 😬

Threat of death Chapter 8 The Auction
Tumblr media
Summery: After a job gone wrong, Jeon Jungkook finds a target on his back, realising he has no idea who wants him dead, they bring in the help of an old friend who coincidentally is an assassin for higher.
Threat of death mlist
_______________________________________
You along with the rest of the group stood in the boss man's office, Jungkook and Yoongi sitting in the two seats, in front of the desk, while the rest of you stood around, waiting for Mr Jeon.
Taehyung and Jimin leaned against the wall next to the window, Namjoon and Jin stood near the desk tablets in hand, while you and Hoseok stood near the door, having a quiet conversation about motorbikes.
The door next to Hoseok opened revealing Mr Jeon, walking in and sitting at his desk, everyone straightened up, ready for the meeting.
"So, you didn't find the rest of the jewls?" He asked, you shock your head no, while the others looked down, Namjoon walked over to Mr Jeon, handing the tablet over to him.
"Yn sent the information about the necklace, The Swedish Family possessed the Russian pink-topaz demi parure.
The Pink topaz demi-parure (necklace with three pendants, a large corsage brooch and a smaller brooch), 1804. The set was a present from Tzar Paul I of Russia to his daughter Maria on her marriage to Grand Duke Friedrich of Saxe-Weimar Eisenach. She gave the set to her daughter Augusta (German Empress), who gave it to her daughter Louise, mother of Queen Victoria of Sweden. It was a favorite of Queen Louise (née Mountbatten)." Namjoon read out.
Taehyung piped up, "I found the necklace, it's going up on auction tomorrow, but still no sign of the rest of the jewls, there are six all together, we've got four, meaning there are still two missing." He explained. Showing the picture of the necklace.
"The auctioneer is a friend of mine, Yoon Jihun, I could convince him to get us in. The place is in Gangnam, so you know it's goingto be expensive. " Taehyung said looking up for approval to call his friend.
Mr Jeon nodded, "I want you to do your best to get that damn necklace, whatever it takes." He said, you all left, while Taehyung pulled out his phone and called his friend.
_________________________________________"Right, I've just secured two invitations, with a guest, Jihun said that people have already offered a lot of money for the necklace" Taehyung said running up to the group, Namjoon nodded, "Then Jungkook and yn, you'll be going together, while Taehyung you go with Jimin." You all nodded, Taehyung and Jimin highfived each other.
"I don't really care about any of that stuff, cut to the chase, would ya." Yoongi said, a bored expression on his face.
"A man only interested in the climax. You must be a real hit with the ladies." You said smirking at him, "Never had any complaints." He told you, you just rolled your eyes.
"Yoongi, you go in the back way, act like a waiter, just in case things doesn't go our way." Namjoon said.
"And what exactly is our way?" You asked, "well, I think you four should act normal, bid at a few things, try and get the necklace, as Tae said someone else wants it, so if they end up getting it, I'll hack the main frame, turning off the lights, with the seconds there out, Yoongi, you'll steal the necklace." Namjoon told them the plan.
"Ok, but what if the people who also want the necklace, what if they already have the six gemstones we're missing?" You asked looking up at the others.
"That is actually a really good point, okay, we still do the plan, but Hoseok, you tale the people who want the necklace, follow them, then we can have a look around see what they got." Namjoon said.
"By we, you mean, us" Jimin said pointing at him, Taehyung, Jungkook and you. Namjoon smirked "Well I'm not going am I."
"We still have one problem, I have nothing to wear" you said looking between the boys, "Well, I guess we're going shopping then" Jungkook said smirking at you, "Oh goodie" you said with no enthusiasm.
_________________________________________You sat in the car, with Jungkook driving, the both of you going shopping for the auction tomorrow night, Jungkook insisted to go with you, and no one else, to say the boys had a laugh about that.
You both sat in silence, the radio playing lightly in the background, you gazed out the window watching the lively city go by as you got nearer to gangnam, Jungkook made it very clear that he knew the perfect place to get the perfect dress, though you weren't quite sure why he was doing this, but oh well.
The moment Jungkook parked the car he turned to you, "stay there" you looked at him about to question what he was doing, but he got out the car and ran to the other side, your side, opening the car door for you.
You raised an eyebrow at him as you got out, "Why-" before you could finish he interrupted you, "Just wanted to be a Gentleman" he told you, a cute bunny smile showing, you couldn't help but smile back at him.
Walking in to the store you looked around, the place was beautiful, but way to flashy for you. Looking up at Jungkook "Are you sure, this place is a bit to much for me" you told him, Jungkook just chuckled, "A beautiful lady needs a beautiful dress".
"Wow, going all out with the flirting today" you told him laughing, Jungkook roll his eyes at you, "Better me then Jimin" he whispered, you gave him a questionable look, he shock his head telling you to forget it, but the pink on his cheeks told you all you needed to know, a smirk showing on your face, your definitely going to have some fun.
_________________________________________After about an hour, really it took an hour for you to find a dress, no more like an hour for Jungkook to approve of a dress, you ended up getting a black, elegant sexy fitted gown, the front was plane while the back was exposed, a small chocker keeping up the dress, the skirt was a flowy skirt with two slits both sides of your legs, the perfect place to hide a weapon you thought.
The day was actually pretty fun, you didn't really expected the day with Jungkook to be entertaining, the two of you agreed to have dinner at one of the restaurants in the hotel.
And that's where you were now, sitting across Jungkook, while you both ate your food.
"So, I haven't met your mum yet" you said making small talk, Jungkook chuckled "Oh you never will, my mum left a little after she had me, ran off with her boy toy, so dad says. Haven't seen her in 21 years, in other words, I've never met her." He explained.
"Sorry, I didn't know" Jungkook brushed it off, "It's fine, my dad is pretty great, even if he is a mob boss. But anyway what about your parents, they must be so proud that their little girl kills for a living" he asked. You sighed leaning back in your chair.
"Honestly, I don't know, they died when I was young" you told him, he looked at you "How did, How did they pass, if you don't mind me asking"
"Well, my father was a lawyer, best in the business, won every case, until he picked the wrong one, he was forced to take this one case, a man was accused for hundreds of murders, my father was told that he had to get the man off as innocent, so he did, won the trial, man got off scott free, but a few weeks later that same man, he tracked down my father, broke in to our home killed my father point blank, I remember my mother running after me to get out of the house but he shot her too, right in front of me.
After that the police officer who found me, he ended up adopting me, paid for leassons to help defend myself, he was a dirty cop, so when I was sixteen he was arrested, but 'somehow' didn't make it, said they had to use brutal force, killed him because he wouldn't back down, heh what a load of bullshit that was, I ended up being put in to an orphanage, kept running away, by my fifth attempt, they gave up let me go off on my own, trained a lot harder after that, pushed myself to be the best, and I did."
You looked up at jungkook, while he looked shocked "Wow, that's ruf, how did you cope" He asked, you laughed.
"Yeah well, it was difficult at first being so young but I got tougher as the years moved on, became easy after I was sixteen, went in to hidding took the name shadow." I told him, after saying that recognition showed in his eyes "Oh, I get it" He mumbles.
"Well, this was a lovely chat, but I think it time for me to go to bed" you told him, Jungkook looked upset, "Are you sre I can't convince you to stay, even a little while?" He pouted.
You smiled at him, "As much as I would love staying here, but we both have a busy day tomorrow, Don't you think?" You asked, Jungkook nodded, "Yeah, your right, I'll walk you to your door then" he said getting up and walking with you to the elevator. _________________________________________
You were in the car with Jungkook, the both of you dressed to the nines for the auction, Taehyung and Jimin were a few cars behind, while Yoongi was already at the building. Your about fifteen minutes away.
"Hey Yoongi, what do you see?" Namjoon asked, from the headset, you listened in waiting for his reply. "Just a bunch of high class, lowlife criminals, all cleaned up for prom." He sighed.
"Hey!, are you calling us lowlifes?" Jimin asked offended at that, Yoongi huffed, "Then I would be calling myself one, wouldn't I. Idiot"
"Who you calling idiot? Idiot" Jimin insulted, the two started bickering, "Not the time Children." You called at them, getting them to be quiet.
"Bike racks after school." Jimin muttered, Taehyung giggles at his response, you could just sense everyone rolling their eyes at Jimin being childish. "Guys, focus, Jungkook and I are here" you told them.
As Jungkook stopped the car he walked over to your side buttoning his jacket as the valet opened the door for you, stepping out yourself, Jungkook put his arm out for you to take, both now walking inside.
The room was grand, almost like a ballroom, the place was pretty crowded, and you noticed all eyes were on you and Jungkook, "Should of warned us that there was so many people who know my father, Yoongi? Why didn't you say anything?" Jungkook asked, looking around, irritated by all the familiar faces.
"Sorry I didn't recognize anyone" he told him, Jungkook huffed, looking down at you, "I think it's best to start this with a drink. Don't you?" He asked, you nodded, as one of the waiters walked past, you grabbed two glasses of champagne.
"You read my mind" you said, smirking up at Jungkook, handing him the other glass, "Aw, How sweet, Jimin can you get me a glass?" Taehyung asked through the headset, hearing Jimin scoff.
"Well Jimin you two are on a date, remember?" You told him, Jungkook sniggered at your comment. "Fine, Here you are darling" Jimin's voice was sickly sweet, you all cringed.
Just then a man came walking up to Taehyung and Jimin, "Hey you guys got company" Yoongi called before you could, Watching the interaction ahead.
"Taehyung!, I'm so happy you made it." The man said giving him a hug, Taehyung smile was big as he returned the hug, "Jihun! I'm glad you had the room to fit me in." He replied.
"Nonsense, though I did come to warn you, there is a couple here who want the necklace as well, they seem desperate, even asked if I could sell it to them privately," Jihun told Taehyung.
"Well, The people here didn't get rich by playing fair" Taehyung replied, the two laughed, Jihun patted Taehyung on the shoulder as he walked away.
"Great, we've got competition" Yoongi signed, "Just focus, okay, it will be fine" Namjoon said, trying to ease him.
"Uh Oh, Um Jungkook, a bit of a heads up, I just spotted Sujin, She hasn't seen you, yet, but she's walking in your direction" Jimin's voice held panic, you looked up for an explanation only to see Jungkook panic as well.
"Hey, what's wrong?" You asked, putting your hand that wasn't holding your drink on to his chest, Jungkook eyes met yours, calming him down, he breathed slowly, then you noticed a spark in his eyes, going to question him again, but he beat you to it.
"You trust me right?" He asked, a brow raised, but the slow confident nod gave him the courage to lean in and place his lips on yours.
To say you were shocked was an understatement, but you closed your eyes kissing him back, Jungkook free hand slid around your waist pulling you closer, while your free hand tangled in his hair.
His lips were surprisingly soft, body warm against you, as he deepened the kiss, his tongue ran over your bottom lip asking for him to enter, you happily obliged opening your mouth, both of you fighting for dominance, but at the end Jungkook just ended up bitting your lip, telling you to give up.
You both heard a cough on your right, breaking away from each other, and looking over at the person who rudely interrupted you.
Standing in front of you was a young woman you would say your age, maybe younger? The woman was very noticeably fake tanned and not in the good way, her bleached blonde hair was tide up in a mess bun, her black roots showing, her dress was plan red, the front of the dress showing way to much of her breasts, like she wanted the attention, good or bad, she was shorter then you, but still tried to intimidate you by having her arms crossed, and glearing at you.
Your raised your brow, not at all intimidated by her one bit, though nothing really bothered you after your shitface of a life.
"Wow Jungkookie, already replacing me with a cheap whore?" She asked eyeing you, you brushed off that comment, hearing the gasps of the boys on your headset.
"Replacing you?, No you see this is my girlfriend yn, and as far as I remember, we never dated." He told her, the girl Sujin, looked even more angry, if that was even possible, you found great joy watching this girls expressions.
"Yn? What kind of name is that?" She scoffed, you rolled your eyes at that "Honey, If that's your best strategy, name calling, and insulting me, you've got to up your game, it's not high school anymore, now if you have nothing better to do then waste our time, I suggest you leave" you told her.
Jungkook eyes brightened at that, impressed by your comeback, the women more like girl huffed again, "What gives you the right to send me away?" She asked, getting in to your face, you just laughed.
"If you don't want champagne all over you, then I really suggest moving, and letting me and MY boyfriend have fun on our date night, got that sweety" you told her, intending the hell out of her, as she stepped back.
"What if I just throw the drink at you?" She asked, a smirk appeared on your face "throwing drinks on a black dress? Honey your a lot more stupid then you look, why don't you got find the kiddy section, where you belong, I'm sure your mommy and daddy are very worried" you told her faking baby talking to her.
The girl just stormed off, you looked back at Jungkook to see him smiling the biggest smile you have ever seen on him, while looking at you in amazement.
"Not only was that awesome, but fucking sexy" he told you as you shrugged at him, sipping some champagne "God, she Was a bitch."
"Right?" He agreed, shaking his head at what just happened "So who was she anyway?" You asked, now hearings the rest of the guys laughing their asses off at the conversation.
"Tan Sujin, Her father owns a army for hire, mercenaries basically, went to school with her, she is a little obsessed with me. Not to mention that her dad ended up killing a lot of my dads guys, stayed well away after that" Jungkook explained, you nodded.
"She needs to Stop acting like a Third world thug, she can't do shit, but acts like she can" Jimin's voice piped up, "Oh? A little tension I see" you said eyeing Jimin across the room.
"Yeah, Jimin slept with that crazy bitch, found out she did that to get closer to Jungkook" Taehyung told you, nodding in understanding.
"Is no one gonna bring up the fact that Jungkook and yn just kissed? Well made out more like? My babys are all grown up" Seokjin said freaking out, you and Jungkook both rolled your eyes at how dramatic he was being.
"We can gossip about it later, the auction is about to start." Namjoon said, everyone getting ready.

"Let the bidding begin" Taehyung said, smirking drinking his champagne, "You get too into theses things" Jimin told him shaking his head.
_________________________________________
The Auction was coming to an end, and now you were waiting for the last item, as one of the Auctioneers removed the statue of the Lioness Statue, he replaced it with the last piece which was the necklace.
You made eye contact with Jungkook, you both nodded, as Jungkook nodded over to Taehyung and Jimin.
"Now we are at the last pieceof the night, Lot Number: 655, Lot Holder: Unknown, Description: Pink-Topaz Demi Parure, Staring Price: 15,212,840,650₩" Jihun said.
"Isn't she beautiful? I'm falling in love all over again." Taehyung said as he gasped at the necklace, "You say that to all the jewellery" Jimin muttered next to him, raising the mallet to bide on the necklace.
"Ah, Mr Park, Starting us off with 15,212,840,650₩, is their an offer for 16,212,840,650₩?" Jihun said, looking around.
A women on the other side raised hers as she gleared at the two, "And here come the bloody tourists to spoil it all." Taehyung sighed, "16,212,840,650₩, to the lady in green, Do I here 17,212,840,650₩?" Jihun asked.
Jungkook then raised his, "17,212,840,650₩, to Mr Jeon. Do I hear 18,212,840,650₩?" Jihun said.
"Namjoon, Isn't that Sujin mum?" Jungkook asked, looking over at the women, "Not sure, but she's not on the Invitation list, Neither is Sujin, Something doesn't feel right, be careful" he said, the women was tall and slim, her dress was long dark green and elegant, her black hair was to her lower back.
"Lets just keep an eye on her ok?" You said, Jungkook nodded agreeing with you.
After a few back and forward with the bidding Jungkook ended up winning the neckless at 29,212,840,650₩, as the auctioneer removed the neckless he was stopped as a gun shot was heard, the man dropped to the floor, blood spilling out of his wound.
Chaos erupted in the room, people screaming and running, you grabbed Jungkook and pushed him towards the bar area, he ducked down as both Taehyung and Jimin ran to him as well.
"What the fuck is happening?" Namjoon yelled, "Not sure can't see the shooters" Jimin said. "Guys, that women grabbed the neckless, she's getting away" Yoongi yelled through the headset.
You noticed both Yoongi and the women, tailing after them, just as the women got to the door a group of men walked in guns and knifes in hand, the women ran passed them, the group fouces on Yoongi, the moment you noticed you grabbed him by the waist spinning him out the way, just in time for the group to miss him
You walked to the middle of the room taking off your heels and throwing them to the floor, 'six men, three guns, three knifes, heh easy' you thought, they turned to you "What the fuck" one yelled at you obviously pissed that you moved Yoongi out the way and joining the other three behind the bar.
The guys with guns turned to you, but you were much quicker as you pulled your own gun from your strap on your leg from under your skirt, shooting three time, the guys with the guns feel to the floor dead, while the other three look up at you in shock.
At the corner of your eye you noticed Jungkook, Taehyung, Jimin and Yoongi peek up from behind the bar, "what about the necklace?" Taehyung asked.
"Don't worry, I've got the car she's in, I'm going to follow the car, I'll keep you updated" Hoseok voice piped up at the mentioning of the neckless, you heard Namjoon sigh in relief on the headset, and the boys visibly relax.
Your attention went back to the three guys left, all with knifes glaring at you, a smirk placed on your face, which angered the men as they ran up to you.
As the first one ran up to you, you moved swiftly out the way turning around, now facing his back, you kicked him at the back of the knee, falling to the floor you quickly shot his head.
The other guy ran up, you twisted his arm with your right arm, and aimed the gun at his head, falling to the floor dead, the last guy ran up to you screaming, you rolled your eyes as you shot the last one before he could come anywhere near you.
At that you pick up your shoes walking over to the bar where the boys were, lifting your right leg on to the chair infront of you putting the gun back in your holster, the four watch eyes glued to your exposed leg.
"Where'd you get that?" Jimin asked, looking at you curiously "Basic etiquette, never arrive at a party empty handed." You told him as you moved your skirt over the gun, hidding it again, while you pulled on your heels.
"I thought that was about food?" Taehyung asked, looking at you confused, you just smiled at him then winked, "Well I suggest we get back to the cars and find out where Hoseok is" You said as you all ran back to the cars.

Friend Request/Black Mirror
Got this idea from the movie "friend request"(watch the ending explained for more info) where a non-human/monster student from kacchan & midoriya middle school has been bullied/harrased for their magic/quirk being highly dangerous and commited suicide by doing the black mirror ritual & sending it online to everyone at her school who bullied her. This was during near the end of middle school year. Everyone who saw the video were absolutely horrfied and(1/3) (2/3) To say that they felt guilty was an understatement. Bakugo & midoriya blame themselves for her suicide. But then when some of the students sre disappearing & being put in hospitals they know something is wrong. Then when bakugo is kidnapped/ rescued he and others see that she became a undead demon/monster dueled by anger/hate for those who tormented her and is about to hurt or even kill the others before one of the heroes knock her out/find the mirror & break it. (3/3)After they break the "mirror" she's(whose no longer a demon) brought back & taken in for questioning before they take her in at ua to try and help her recover. When she gets in class 1a she just shuts everyone out completely, not talking/ignoring, just wants nothing to do w/ anyone. When midoriya & bakugo try to approach to her to apologize or whatever, she makes it VERY clear that she will never forgive them & that they are the real monsters & exposes them & reveals scars from self harm (4/3) little extra sorry, you can choose the ending for this one. Im trying to work on a charscter & i needed inspiration & your blog was perfect for it. I saw the baba yaga thing, it was fantastic thank you. Also im really sorry if its really long. Im just really specific and wordy & in love with some of your writing👌. Have some love & drinks for your troubles🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤☕🍵🍶🍾🍷🍸🍹🍺🍻🥂🥃💋💌 Love you, from your loving follower.
----------
This was actually a really hard order to fill since I don’t like horror/thriller movies, but I love writing horror/thriller stories...the irony...someone please pinch me. Anyway I tried my hardest on this since I loved the topic and hopefully it gives you some inspiration Anon! ❤
WARNING!: THIS IS A VERY DARK THEME! CONTAINS SUICIDE, SELF INFLICTED WOUNDS, DEATH!
SUPER LONG I’M SORRY
AN: I had to look this up, but the black mirror ritual is where you are in a dark room with just enough indirect candle light illuminating your face/eyes. As long as you can see your eyes in the mirror then you can continue to the next step. The next step is to focus on your eyes or in between them without moving them or blinking, eventually everything in your vision will fade and become black. Then you just blink to come back from the void.
Also this won’t exactly fit the timeline that the manga/anime follows... another thing just because I don’t want to leave a plot hole for you love people I had to change somethings around! Oh and I attempted to make this as gender neutral as possible!
In Friend Request the person will perform this ritual and burn them self to become a demon that can posses others who look into darkened mirrors/reflections.
----------
You used to live in the more rural part of Japan, until a house fire burned down everyone and everything inside, you were the only survivor, but you had burns to show that it happened
The other downside about your home when it was still standing were the locusts
When you were four you went through multiple foster homes, none wanting you because of your strange magic quirk, it looked like very dark magic
While in and out of foster care you would draw as a mean of escape or write things down
Some would even goes as far as to call you a quirkless-wiccan
You had some friends not many though, it was really more of just being your friend out of pity
Judged for your burns and how terrible your quirk was; no one wanted you around
You were bullied because of your burns, your strange habits of staring into mirrors, even odd obsession of candles and dark places
Although that changed one day when you were at the park near you current foster residence
You met two boys: a loud blonde and a timid greenette
They noticed you conjuring small locusts from thin air
“What are you doing?” the little green haired boy asked coming up on your left shoulder
“Creating things of this and that,” your answer was vague, but substantial enough
“Why would you want to make these dumb bugs for?” the blonde peeked over your other shoulder
“Because they’re important,” you put the bug down to look at them then back at the little hopping creature
Eyeing them both up and down you crossed your little arms trying to hide the burn marks
“I’m Midoriya Izuku and he, “the greenette pointed at the blonde, “is Kacchan!”
“No, my name is Bakugou Katsuki,” the blonde huffed shooting a small glare at his friend
You hesitated hoping you wouldn’t get bullied by these two boys, “I’m (L/N) (Y/N)”
That’s at least how it started
Entering middle school the bullying got worse; students made it a point to make you already more aware of the flaws you had and the flaw you were even going as far as to say you should’ve burned with your family
Your magic got stronger the older you got and more you practiced, and you spent a lot of time allowing yourself to fade into the black room staring at your reflection in a small compact mirror
Midoriya has walked in on you when you have gone into the void being completely unresponsive to any outside noses, and he called Bakugou about it making him want to see it for himself
This caused unease in both boys seeing as wiccan symbols littered your arms and legs and every time you used your magic (dark) it would make you look quite terrifying
People could feel the power come off you but still bullied you into submission
You still followed them throughout middle school, but never picked up on the queues that they didn’t want you around or how they would shy away from the topics that involved plans that would make with others
You all attended UA, and both boys were hoping desperately that you would just disappear although they never completely vocalized they didn’t want you with them
Midoriya would just shy away from the subject and flinch slightly when you would join his new friend group
Bakugou would grunt and give you a hard glare, but you always thought it was normal
“Hey Midoriya what are you planning on doing this weekend?” Tsuyu asked while walking to the lunch table
“I think we are going down to the beach for a bonfire on Saturday,” he shrugged as they took their seats
Running up to him and hugging him from behind, “Midoriya! What are you planning on doing this Saturday?” you asked excitedly wanting to give him a present you have been working on for the last couple of weeks
“I um, I’m going to the beach with my mother this weekend...” He trailed off glancing at Uraraka and Tsuyu across the table who gave him an unease look
“Oh...okay I will give it to you another time then,” You released his shoulders before heading towards Bakugou’s table to see if you could also give him his present
“Bakugou!”
“What is it Black Magic?...” The ashen blonde huffed looking towards Mina for help
“What are you doing on Saturday?” you quipped your somewhat happy attitude back
“I’m going to be down at the beach training like normal,” He rolled his eyes but was tense under your touch
“Hmm I guess I will just give it to you another time then...” You left him alone and went outside
Little did you know that the class was actually holding a party and didn’t want you there
That Saturday rolled around and you were alone scrolling through Facebook, which you only had two friends on
Refreshing the page you saw that Midoriya and Bakugou were tagged in the same photo
“What the...” your frustration was getting the better of you
Enlarging the photo you saw that it was the entire class having a party/bonfire on the beach
Everyone seemed to be laughing and dancing; you weren’t laughing
Fingernails digging into your palms until they bled with angry tears falling down your face you slammed the computer shut
The following Monday you confronted both of them before class started
In the midst of them trying to shove you off they pushed up your long sleeved shirt revealing all of the carved letters and cuts
Everything stopped you could hear a pin drop
You couldn’t handle the stares and whispers so you ran
However the two you considered friends had enough of you and decided to make it clear to you
They unfriended you
Noticing that you were all alone again you took action
“I’m not going to be the weak person they make me out to be...”
Collecting the things for your black mirror ritual, the sketches, rope and your phone you got ready
Pressing the record button you started with holding up the pictures
You didn’t say anything, they weren’t worth your words
Taking out the matches you lit one on fire and then the next
Dropping them onto the floor you got on the chair
Adjusting the noose you looked into the camera
“You both did this”
The camera caught you kicking the chair out from underneath you as you were consumed in flames
The entire video you recorded had Bakugou and Midoriya tagged in it, the two you once called friends
Getting the familiar ding they pulled out their phones before class
You tagged them in a video
The video played back the events and they were shocked
They watched you die
Freaked out they showed the video to Aizawa and Principal Nezu
They were told to delete the video and their accounts
They tried only to receive and error
After both boys got the error the your video was shared on their pages for everyone to see
Aizawa walked into the class with them trailing behind before they headed to their seats
“Your classmate (L/N) died last night.”
Whispers floated around the room
Midoriya had his eyes locked to his desktop and Bakugou looked out the window
Strange things started occurring a few days after your death
A student who went to the same middle school as you was found in critical condition with burns everywhere
When the student woke up in intensive care the police and Pros were there to here her statement
“Th-the house... it was on fire...”
They assumed she just meant her house
Little did they know it was hers; the fire started inside of a mirror on her wall
She saw a dark figure light a house on fire before making her way closer to the girl
Moving between mirrors/reflections to your next victim you planned things accordingly, and would work your way up the chain until you had your revenge
More students from Bakugou and Midoriya’s past were getting hurt and they were freaking out, because there were no leads as to what was going on
It was evening and Uraraka was studying with only her lamp on for light when it flickered and went out
Startled the brunette looked around the room until she saw her reflection in her computer
Thinking there was a smudge she tried rubbing at it
Removing her hand from laptop she saw a dark shadow walk up behind her
Turning around a piercing scream ripped through her throat
You were behind her with grey eyes that wanted nothing but revenge on those who wronged you
Opening your mouth a swarm of locusts went after Uraraka biting at any exposed skin
Hearing the scream throughout the dorm some of class 1-A went to check
Bursting through her door and flicking the light on they saw Uraraka in the fetal position on the floor
When the lights flicked on you disappeared along with the locusts
“Uraraka! Are you okay?” Tsuyu was the first into the room to check on her friend
“Lets get her to the hospital,” Yaoyorozu ushered as Kirishima and Sero picked her up
On the way out Uraraka’s hand grabbed Bakugou’s wrist tightly
“I-it was them...” she breathed out with wide scared eyes
Everyone paused and looked at the frightened girl
You witnessed everything behind your mirror before disappearing into another glass, eyes burning with a deep rooted hatred
“Bakugou,” Midoriya grabbed his wrist, “how do we stop (Y/N)? They are attacking everyone we are friends with!”
“No shit you dumb ass,” He huffed holding his hand to his chin contemplating the situation, “they’re targeting everyone who bullied them...”
Both boys looked at each other with widened eyes as they realized who would be targeted
Everyone on their friends list was someone who bullied you before at least once
Things seemed to stop for a bit when they went to the training camp at least that’s what it seemed
After Bakugou was captured you showed up again right outside the bar, your reflection in the glass outside in the alley way
Making your way to where Bakugou tried escaping you unleashed hell
“Bakugou!” your piercing shriek echoed over the clearing
Bakugou and the small band of villains turned to look at your retched form walk towards them
Some of the villains tried stopping you but you flicked your wrist at them sending them flying away from you; not once did you take your eyes off the blonde
“What do you want from me-us?!” Bakugou shouted palms sparking in anticipation
“I want you to suffer the same way I did for years! Being alone with no one to rely on, not even a friend,” you opened your mouth wide releasing a storm of locusts to the unsuspecting blonde
Using his quirk he was able to keep them at bay, and escaped with the help of Kirishima and the others
You screamed in frustration as they got away, but that was short lived as Kamui Woods restrained you and knocked you out
The Pros at the scene took a look at you and recognized you from the missing persons report, they knew you committed suicide but there wasn’t a body to be found
You were sent to the hospital with limbs bounded and gagged, precautions had to be taken since you were still seen as a threat
“You two can come in now” Bakugou and Midoriya looked upon your body that was illuminated in just candle light
“How did you figure out what that candle light would keep her from disappearing?” Bakugou asked leaning up against the wall not wanting to get close to you
“We remembered from Uraraka’s testimony that she disappeared when the lights turned on so we tested different light sources and candle light seems to work the best” one of the detectives stated, “it’s also light enough that she can’t disappear into any reflections.”
“Why are we here?” Midoriya was nervous being in the same room as your sedated body
“We need to know if you know anything about her state, or what would have allowed her do this after being... well dead.” It wasn’t a question and both boys knew it
“(Y/N) used to stare at a small mirror for hours when we were younger, and the room would always be dark...” Midoriya reflected thinking back to when you were younger
“Good, if you think of anything else call us, he handed them a card, “We will start looking through the burned remains of (Y/N) residence.”
“Oh the and they woke up earlier, but refused to say anything that might be helpful to this situation,” the detective sighed pinching the bridge of his nose, “the only thing they said when waking up were both your names.”
Alarmed both heads whipped to look at the detective
“What?!”
“They might talk to both of you. We will bug the room and leave so they doesn’t suspect anything,” setting up the microphone the detective pat both boys shoulders before exiting
“Oh and don’t worry (Y/N) is strapped down to the bed under the blankets,” the detective tried giving them an encouraging smile and thumbs up before exiting
Once the door closed your eyes opened wide and you gasped for air as if you hadn’t been breathing
Struggling against the restraints you cried out
“H-hi...” Midoriya tried and your wide eyes narrowed dangerously as you eyed the traitors
Jaw clenched tightly shut and deathly grey eyes bored into both visitors
Bakugou tried putting on a brave front, but lets be real you looked like you had been dead for years
“Why?”
“What do you mean why? You abandoned me! You used me and lied to me!” you finally snapped going back to struggling against the straps
Back arching up off the bed you struggled
This freaked the boys out even more, you looked so much like a demon (you were) trying to fight against an exorcist
Truth was you were, they found the mirror under some burnt remains and the demon inside you was trying to hold onto your body
Screaming and writhing, head shaking back and forth you dropped back on to the table
Eyes blank and looking at the ceiling
Slowly your physical appearance began to revert back to normal
Walking up to the edge of your bed Midoriya spoke up, “We are sorry... for everything.”
Slowly tilting your head to look at them you sucked in a deep breath, “No.”
Confusion washed over Midoriya and anger over Bakugou
“What do you mean no?” Bakugou glared down at your body
“It’s exactly as it sounds,” you still managed to posses a menacing glare
“What do we have to do for your forgiveness?” Midoriya pressed further hoping that if you forgave them then everything would go back to being somewhat normal
“I won’t ever forgive either of you! Do you know what you even did? Are you trying to get over your guilty conscious?” your accusations cut them deeply and you knew that you hit them on the nail
“You are both monsters! So I did something I knew you would both fear, being alone,” you still being magical summoned a scalpel to your hand from the counter top and sliced through the ropes holding you down
Standing you face them with scalpel in hand
Both boys activated their quirks in case you decided to hurt them
Pushing up the night gown sleeves you showed them your scars
“You pushed me to this!” you cried tears pouring down your face
“I only wanted to be friends with you both and you pushed me away!”
Stepping forward Midoriya tried setting his hand on your shoulder hoping to comfort you, but you stepped away angrily shaking your head
“No, no, no... NO!” glaring at them you pointed the medical tool at them but didn’t advance
“We want to help you...maybe even start over?” Bakugou tried reasoning sharing a small glance with Midoriya
The glance didn’t go unnoticed by you
“No. Anything is better than being friends with either of you. Death is better than being friends with you!” ugly sobs wretched through your body as you raised a hand in the direction of the counter top
Every drop of magic in your body you used to collect sharp medical tools and items
The boys started wide-eyed as you turned the instruments in your direction
Turning your outstretched hand into a fist you closed your eyes
Screaming was heard from the room, and the detectives outside ran into the room
The scream wasn’t yours, it was the two UA students
They were speckled in your blood as it pooled out around your body
Your body lying limply on the floor and impaled in various places
Your death was instant
“Oh dear God...” the two detectives breathed before one ushered the boys out
“Sir we have a problem...”

Seeing how much I can write before I have to leave, after days of fighting with my scanner (it assigned itself its own IP address, because that’s the kind of printer it is)
Day 2, Kailyn: Did this once. Tried to add shading and fucked it up. Did it again to make sre I wasn’t giving @erinhime83 complete crap, because she doesn’t deserve that. Her neck in Round 2 is long af but it’s not terrible. I always like seeing redheads with pale eyelashes (like super ginger, chalk-white redheads), so I picture Kai with pale (light brown/blonde) eyelashes even though I never really draw her with those (dark brown at best), which is why I didn’t colour them in. Trying to actually use inks in some fashion like I see other people doing, rather than just...outlining?
Day 3, Maeve: I realize I work better with ref pictures. Literally just use the one Anijel provided. Can barely remember what her hair looks like. Was it wavy? Shit, I think @erinhime83 drew it wavy. Try to stick some wave in there. Does this coy look even fit her personality?????
Day 4, Eric: I really liked Sabrina the Teenage Witch when I was younger. I tried watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina but really had a hard time getting into it. Long story short, since I tried to use ref images, referenced (sort of) a picture of Harvey from StTW because come on, that was young me’s crush.
Then I remmebered something @erinhime83 had told me about the multiverse concept I had going on in CS, like what if there were “counterparts” to the original cast that weren’t the exact same, because the circumstances were different? (Different spouses and different combination of genetics, but they’re still their parents’ children?) A N Y W A Y what if Eric’s grandfather, in the Delta universe, also had a grandson, who was also, coincidentally, named Eric or something pronounced very similarly? And he bears a very slight (VERY VERY SLIGHT) resemblance to the Eric os the “main” CS-verse? is it Eric Delta or is he his own person? (Spoiler alert, Prime Eric was referenced from 90s sitcom Harvey; Delta Eric was referenced from whoever plays Harvey in the Netflix Sabrina)
Day 5, Christine and Eric: Ironically, this was also referenced from a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina still. Not great. These are doodles at best and I’m not worrying about proper placement or sizing, so it’s...okay but probably falls apart when you look at it. also nice travelling eye Chris’s got going on there
Day 6, Kailyn and Dylan: My original plans for @erinhime83‘s birthday pic were sort of scrapped because of the Inktober stuff, so the least I could do it...something nicer than the other stuff. It’s not bad. I kind of wish the pencil underneath had erased a lot more cleanly, but maybe I can scan and print this (onto some thick cardstock or something), and hope to God that inkjet ink plays well with markers, because it is nice in concept. I don’t like how Dylan turned out because his face looks weird but the concept it nice, and I need to do something
Day 7, Lochlann: Again, just...use the exact same reference picture as @anijeltaventry gave you? Is this even accurate? I have a feeling he doesn’t have that much beard (see above about actually wanting to use inks in a way) but it’s...okay? the hair looks nice. It’s a bit of a struggle when I haven’t drawn him before.
Day 8, Dylan: Look, I don’t know who this even is, I just struggled to think of some media franchise I could Google for decent ref images and for some reason Shadowhunters came to mind. So, this dude, who’s pretty attractive, this dude is Dylan now
Tumblr media
I could see Dylan being the Nereid equivalent of a super blond person is all I’m saying. And the waves...well his hair isn’t really wavy but my God how could I say no? He looks nicer here than in the Day 6 picture so I’m happy
Day 9, Serena: I’ve been playing off and on with the Erebian designs for some tinme...in my head...so clothing-wise (Asian-inspired) is fairly accurate, Serena;s actual design not sure about. It’d be more obvious with colour and not inks, but...one step at a time.
Day 10, Aerona:  I referenced a rando image on Google. Don’t know why because I already have a decent way of drawing her and this isn’t it, doesn’t really look like her. Not terrible, just not...Aerona in my head? But ink-wise, not bad at all.

The post I'm rebloging was tagged "Tucker Carlson, Fow news, tanning, testicle tanning, toxic masculinity ". The main question is how this could possibly be considered "toxic masculinity"?
For those absolutely confused, in a segment of a series Tucker Carlson called "The End Of Men", Tucker interviews a fitness coach who suggets "red light therapy" as a treatment to increase testosterone levels. Carlson jokingly says, "teticle tanning" and the guy says yeah, "but it's also full body red light therapy". The whole point of the segment is to pitch a possible trestment for decreasing testosterone levels.
The fitness coach also mentioned "bromeopathy", a portmanteau of "bro" and "homeopathy". Essentially, homeopathic medicine and treatments geared towards men. And this is actually essential to undertanding what's wrong with all the criticisms over this segment.
Now, let's get the elephant out of the room. "Testicle tanning" sounds funny, if you have the mentality of a 4 year old. But, honestly, it is a stupid name, and not even what the process is actually called (though that may be the colloquial case now). Tucker knew that, which is why he said it while laughing. That's why the fitness guy chuckled too, and why Kid Rock (yes, he was interviewed as well) just couldn't even. But, a colonoscopy, which could easily be called an "anal probe" because that's what it is. Or breast enlargment treatment could be called " nipple sucking" or "tit vibrators" because that's essentially what the devices are. The point is that, when you see some treatments, even if they have logical, clinical names, how they look can invoke funny ideas, and I think Tucker realized that and tried to "in before" the joke but, that didn't work.
Now, the issue of this being "toxic masculinity". Quite frankly, anyone who believes or calls it that is being overtly misandric. Testosterone levels are an important factor in male health and fertility. They're just as important as estrogen levels sre for female health and fertility. We know for a fact that there are tones of medical and homeopathic treatments on the market to help treat estrogen imbalances in women, but just recently has any attention been given to address testosterone imbalances in men. If trying to improve the hormone levels of males is toxic masculinity, then we've been subjected to toxic femininity for almost half a century before this. In reality, most men and women who exhibit toxic traits tend to have hormonal imbalances. Excess testosterone makes both men and women more agressive and violent, while excessive estrogen makes both men and women more emotional and neurotic. Among that, excessive estrogen is a leading factor in the development of many cancers. I'm sure excess testosterone has it's physiological issues but we really wouldn't know because society doesn't give a fuck about men enough to do in depth research about how their hormones affect them, unlike with women.
I meantioned the "bromeopathy/homeopathy " connection. This is worth mentioning because many criticisms of the misnamed "testicle tanning" is that it is a scam perpetrated by the right, even though it's mainly left leaning men who tend to have the lowest testosterone levels. Howeer, bromeopathy is just a selection of homeopathic treatments that focus on men's health, where as homeopathy generally panders to everyone...but it's main market is women. So, if bromeopathy is an attempt at scamming guys, but it's just a subsection of homeopathy, which is has had success mainly with women, guess what you just implied. How is using science to increase testosterone, more of a scam than selling a bunch of women different crytals for spiritual clensing and sacthels full of dry weeds herbs for aromatherapy. I mean, rubbing essence of fenugreek on your boobs is supposed to increase breat milk production and lot's of women, do that, or maybe they just want a reason to rub their breast more often.
So, red light therapy to increase testosterone, it's not a joke even though is has a funny nickname, and it's not toxic masculinity unless you want to also acknowledge that simalr treatments for women is also toxic femininity.
Finally, as an additional point, I want to acknowledge the last criticism about the series itself. The majority of commentary about the series is from left to far left media sources and outlets. Almost no coverage from center, right, or far right media (including fox news). And, many of the sources make jokes and negative commentary about how homoerotic the imagery is, and make jokes that Carlson might be outing himself. And, that's just not right on many levels. It really reveals how they truly feel about lgbt topics outside of Pride month and direct pandering. When they are not trying to score queer points by kissing the ass of the Alphabet mafia, they have no problem using those identities and sexualities as a joke. I mean, how often have LGBT people complained that they were afraid of being their true self because they were made fun off or teased for their interets? Pretty common. And these outlets show that they are the kinds of people who would make fun of someone who exhibited behavior that might be homo erotic. I do believe that is called "homophobia" in most left leaning circles. Just think about that before you tyy making fun of the depictions in the series, you bigots. A series that is about male bodies and health showing healthy male bodies is mocked as homoerotic in an attempt to shame a man for his possible interests by people who will yurn around and tell others that it's wrong to shame people for their possible homoerotic interests.

Many developers, DevOps engineers, and SREs are clearly excited about using Spinnaker to modernize their overall software delivery process. And the primary reasons for this excitement are Spinnaker is opensource software and the only tool to offer hybrid and multicloud deployment in the marketplace.
At the same time, many organizations are hesitant to move forward with Spinnaker for continuous delivery because it has a reputation of being difficult to get right.
If you are considering adopting Spinnaker to transform your continuous delivery, I am confident that you can be successful. Simplifying Spinnaker isn’t easy, but it can be done.
Our many customers around the world have seen compelling success – driving down costs, slashing delivery errors, and improving cycle time. They have mastered the challenges of scaling Spinnaker, even though they had plenty of questions along the way.
That’s the purpose of this blog – to highlight the top four challenges you should address to ensure a successful transformation to Spinnaker Continuous Delivery (CD) – and move quickly from your very first service in production with Spinnaker to your first 100 applications.
Remember that adopting any product with the potential of Spinnaker, and updating any process as important as software delivery, brings with it some complexity and potential for error. You’re not alone – most companies have struggled with the same difficulties that you have now –  and have overcome them.
Nearly every company today must transform their software delivery process to meet their business goals. Leverage the learning of the Spinnaker early adopters to eliminate the risk of being buried underneath an avalanche of work as you adopt Spinnaker and transform your Continuous Delivery processes across your organization.
Integrate Spinnaker with your Existing Tools
Spinnaker is a great product and saves time, energy, and effort in moving your services and applications through your deployment process, culminating with the apps running successfully in production.
However, Spinnaker doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You probably already have a well developed tool chain, perhaps using GitHub for source control, Jenkins for build, Jira for tickets, Slack for communication, JFrog Artifactory for binaries, and perhaps many others.
The first element that companies struggle to address is to completely configure Spinnaker so it is set up to fit well into your existing tool chain. Some of the integrations are simple, others are more complex. Unfortunately, Spinnaker doesn’t provide an “easy button” for any of the integrations. And extending your existing processes to include a new tool like Spinnaker always takes more thought and effort that we’d like.
So before you install Spinnaker or begin thinking about creating your first few pipelines, consider how Spinnaker will fit into your overall tool chain and how fit in with the processes that are adjacent to the deployment step in your SDLC.
Design Spinnaker CD Pipelines for Broad Adoption
Once Spinnaker is integrated into your tool chain and word gets around that you have enabled Spinnaker, you’ll be a hero because Spinnaker reduces work for everyone involved.
At the same time, you’ll likely be deluged with requests for assistance – especially for “onboarding” new applications on to Spinnaker. The process for building new pipelines for applications isn’t really onerous, but Spinnaker on its own doesn’t provide an easy way for individuals to do this work on their own.
Further, it is highly likely that you won’t use the same deployment strategy across all your different applications. When should you use the different strategies available to you? How should you set up Spinnaker to utilize a dark, canary, blue/green, rolling, or highlander deployment? How do you modify any of these strategies to your specific environment? Not all these questions have obvious answers when you’re getting started.
Once you have experience with the first few applications, and have the pipelines happily moving changes through the process, you should consider how to streamline the process of deploying new applications. Can you set up the system so that new teams can onboard their applications without you providing significant assistance?
Each organization is of course different. Some want to have full control by a central team; other times the individual development teams should have the ability to control the process for each service they build. Still other times the company wants to outsource the whole thing to an outside team so their inside teams can concentrate on their highest value.
Whichever option is good for you, consider the onboarding process or you will have difficulty moving past the first few applications toward broad deployment.
Handle Governance and Security Concerns in Continuous Delivery
Making Spinnaker operational is one thing. Making sure that the system is secure and follows your organization’s rules and regulations is also critically important before you move to wide adoption.
There are many different sub bullets to this general topic of governance, much more than I can cover in a single blog. The good news is that Spinnaker is built for large scale operations and so you can effectively handle just about every security and governance concern that you might have.
In order to ensure your specific governance requirements with Spinnaker are met for a broad range of services and applications, the top items that you should address are: secrets management, user onboarding and access control, audit, and policy compliance.
Different organizations have different strategies for secrets management, some heavily using Git, others using a product like Vault from Hashicorp. You must configure Spinnaker to fit into your security and secrets processes before you’re able to broadly deploy it. You definitely don’t want to manage your passwords and other secrets within Spinnaker itself.
User onboarding and permissions is a second area to consider. All but the smallest organizations have some centralized user management in place, and you’ll want to integrate Spinnaker into the system you’ve chosen, whether it be LDAP or something different.
Audit is the next element that typically impedes organizations from broad deployment. Ensuring that you can track the successes and failures of all the different changes that are pushed into production is important for every company, not just those in regulated industries.
And finally, general policy compliance is a must for organization-wide adoption of any product or process, especially one in as important an area as software deployment. Whether the policies are as simple as blackout windows (at which times completed software can move into production) or as complex as who within the organization can or must approve any move, and under what circumstances a move can be approved, there must be a simple way to ensure that the rules are followed (and of course, the compliance must be documented and easily verified).
Trust an Experienced Navigator for your CD Transformation
Once Spinnaker is in place for more than a few applications, you’ll see demand for it increase quickly. And with more users, there will be more need for support. Many of the questions will be simple, but you will want to be sure that your team has someone available at all times to have their questions answered – you don’t want to be first, second, and third level support to your Spinnaker installation.
In addition to simple support questions, a healthy percentage of requests will be around the best way to use different Spinnaker capabilities, and which approach enabled by Spinnaker would be recommended for your specific situation. These types of best practice questions should be answered by someone with specific knowledge of your situation and deep knowledge of and experience with Spinnaker. Of course, you could let everyone experiment and build best practices over time, but it’s much more efficient to leverage best practices from someone who has plenty of experience. Addressing this challenge is required before you can really start to scale past your first 100 applications. Don’t feel that you need to go it alone – work with an external company like OpsMx that you can trust and that has led multiple CD transformations with Spinnaker.
Check out our professional services that will help you to enhance and customize Spinnaker for your enterprise requirements.
Now is the Time to Start
Organizations that are successful with Spinnaker achieve impressive results. They dramatically improve the speed at which changes are deployed into production. And they are able to simultaneously slash costs, reduce errors in production, improve the experience of their end users, and better maintain compliance with standards and regulations.
Spinnaker is proven in organizations around the world, many of whom are OpsMx customers. They confronted the same anxiety that you may be having as you begin your Spinnaker rollout. We helped them get past the initial Spinnaker struggles and would be excited to work with you as well.

It's almost 3 am and i'm awake which means suffering hours
But also my cats are BOTH sleeping with me which is a rare treat and i can feel the pressure of both of them laying on my legs in different spots. This is the most comforting and reassuring act these small, heinous creatures can and do perform. I Love Them.
Also also i'm just thinking of my beloved partner 💚💚💚💚 kevvy 💚💚💚💚 and to be completely honest my cats and my partner sustain me. I don't fall in love with just anyone. I'm really surprised that I am doing this okay.
My hope is a flickering candle. If life gets more turbulent, that candle goes out quickly and easily. But when things are going okay, it's a nice candle to sit near and read a book. It's a small comfort in the face of the world. Everything is in shambles all the time, chaos walks free in the name of capitalism and politics, people hurt other people and that is all so heart breaking. But one day, i'm holding out for it. It being a future, a dream, a change. Peace.
My love, I could fall in love with anywhere if you were there with me.
A loft high up in the city, only big enough for us and the cats. Open concept, brick and metal, industrial like. We'd fill it with (dying) plants, twinkle lights, and laughter. No need for lots of furniture, but we DO need a big closet/clothing area. We both love clothes too much.
A witch hut in the forest. Cozy, interesting architecture, something straight out of a fairytale. We'd have teeming foliage outside, that not even we could kill, what with our non-green-thumbs. We could have an easy garden, herbs and produce, some deadly flowers just for fun. The inside? Mystifyingly large. One room full to the brim with books and shiny things and cozy seating and candles and rocks. That room is our retreat. The "Do Not Disturb" area available for use at any time, an unspoken but utmostly respected signifier of low energy. Basically, a "human" charging station fit to our needs. I could go on forever about this abode.
A simple country home. Just outside of the city, or maybe in the middle of nowhere. Somewhere that we can see the fields of wildflowers around us practically for miles. We can frolic all day long, collect wildflowers and run a flower shop, fresh or dried & pressed. We could have a lovely wraparound porch, a pond, a grand staircase, mahogany french doors. We could have a study, a parlor, a formal dining room, even though we'd probably always eat in the family room. We could have a screened in sunroom where we sit and take in the morning, the evening, any time.
All I want is a future, a home. I want to be less sick. I want to feel safe enough to be fragile when I need to. I want to call somewhere home and mean it.
My dream is to not worry about politics, money, healthcare, or other factors of the state of the world (country) that routinely drive me crazy.
America is unethical. America is toxic. America is not suitable for a sustainable future. I'd like to say I believe it can change, but at this point I don't really have any faith left. And sometimes I remember that not the whole world is like this. I could have that home, that hope, that love, but somewhere new! If i wasn't so afraid of being alone, I'd have packed up and been out of state years ago.
Update: it's past 3 am and i'm not suffering as much, but I do feel exhausted. It's nice to feel like I can just word vomit my thoughts as I have them on here. Other social media has consequences for me personally, but tumblr lets me have a shred of privacy/anonymity and i've always loved that.
I will feel safe again one day. I will feel safe. I will have a safe home, a safe heart. I will not feel like this forever. I got over jordon, i got over my birth mother's behavior, i can get over red with time too. Love does still exist. Love is not ruined. Love is not fake. I gave my love to someone and he chose to hurt me. That is not my fault. I have faults, I made mistakes, that is true, but it's not my fault that someone chose to hurt me on purpose. Not everyone will do that, though. People are russian roulette, in a way. Red was a bullet. I have survived this, though, and I'll continue to survive. Eventually I'll be able to thrive. It just takes time. These sre affirmations I need, and affirmations I will believe one day. These are little bites of reassurance.
I will be okay. You will too.

The slight pressure and odd feeling the bear recieves from the trainer getting caught up in the muzzle line evolked the defense reaction, he also saw the second trainer which introduced the wrong stimuli, and fed during the incident wrong too. A small mistake met cost yiu your lives when dealing with this ancient animal as crushed rib cages and a broken neck are easy for him.
Zues
All true.
He has to eat it but so do you folk you don't think so means we attack you. You play out this scene on him daily, show him to prove a point, he asks what point you pissed him off razered him growing in bears sometimes a primortial rage, so what's your point a crowd flees??? So what.
We heard them to the crowd lynches and we see why, it's a fear reaction to one middle aged pauper, ok. Most of the crowd is mixed here.
We do understand what you want but we are no longer in the mood to entertain you morons. Your jocularity about us kiboshing your entire plan early is unfounded and your reactions smdidnt fit so we are curious.

MIT Course: Futuristic Vignette, AI Mood and Personality Module
Jennifer Nam E-11 Term Paper Vignette: After a relaxing lunch and the daily debrief with her children, it’s now time for business. Dr. Jane Brown has just gotten into the community self-driving car and started her call a moment ago with a hospital board member in Sweden. Though she and the board member (John) are each speaking in their native languages, the call is seamlessly translated. However, she decides it’s time to cut the call short when her AI mood and personality analysis module informs her that the board member is genuinely incredibly frustrated, and it may be better to bring up the delicate issue of funding another time. From this, an AI mood and personality analysis module can be constructed through a combination of brain-machine interface technologies. I will be applying 2 articles on brain machine interface technologies in the formation of an AI mood and personality analysis module: "Personality Trait and Facial Expression Filter-Based Brain-Computer Interface," and " Emotion Analysis using Brain Computer Interface." First, I would like to implement the following from the first article, where in this paper, we present technical approaches that bridge the gap in the research related to the use of brain-machine interfaces for entertainment and facial expressions. An emotion extraction filter is introduced in order to classify emotions on the basis of the users' brain signals in real time. Then, a personality trait filter is defined to classify extrovert, medium, introvert, and very introvert, from this, facial expressions sre derived from expression rates are obtained by an extrovert-introvert fuzzy model through its defuzzification process. Brain-computer interfaces use electrophysiological brain signals as meaningful data with which to manipulate remote devices or applications, in contrast to conventional interfaces such as keyboards, mice and touchpads. Electrical activity captured by a number of electrodes on the scalp is used to carry out feature extraction and pattern classification. Related applications have been as an alternative means of communication for motor-impaired people. Interesting, some studies on BCI have been recently extended into areas of entertainment such as interactive human-computer games for healthy users. BCI applications have appeared in entertainment and the game industry as a means to adapt and control applications using brain signals. Furthermore, techniques for automating the analysis of facial expressions are critical to the realization of more natural and effective human-computer interactions, which can add to existing studies of human emotion and affective computing and enhancing applications in a broad range of area. In this project we can utilize diagnostic tools such as electroencephalograms (EEG), electromyograms (EMG), and electrocardiograms (ECG) to detect and measure brain frequencies and electrical activities, and heart rate and electrical activities. In this paper, an emotion extraction filter (EEF) is then introduced, which can recognize emotions from EEG brain signals as well. Then, a personality trait filter (PTG) is designed to classify extrovert and introvert types from EEG brain signals using an EEG fuzzy model. In addition an extrovert-introvert (EI) fuzzy model is constructed on the basis of the intensity of the facial expressions of the different EI types. A novel method of creating facial from motion capture data is presented as well, which automatically extracts the contraction values of facial muscles. This enables us to realize real-time facial animation for a game player who is connected to an EEG device. In this study from the first article (I would like to incorporate this method of study in terms of emulation), they collected 210 samples of EEG data for the six emotions and the neutral expression (i.e. neutral, happy, surprised, angry, mean). To build an EI fuzzy model, weights for each EI type were derived from the pictures of the subjects' facial expressions. Subjects were instructed to visualize six universal expressions. After that, we took photographs of seven facial expressions (surprise, anger, fear, disgust, sadness, happiness, and neutral) of 30 subjects using a digital camera. The locations of the feature points were decided based on the movements of 21 facial muscles that occurred while people were making facial expressions. We also acquired an individual's motion data for six facial expressions from each participant using an optical motion capture system. Deriving muscle contractions from facial motion capture data. Essentially the alpha and beta frequencies were measured and determined with their corresponding emotion; the magnitude of facial expressions were found to be markedly distinct for facial expressions that included happiness, surprise, and anger, while the p-values of other expression appear as sadness, fear, and disgust. From this, we can construct a hat built of brain electrodes that measure, monitor, and detect alpha and beta brain frequencies similarly found in EEG diagnostic machines, then use the alpha and beta data to determine which is the corresponding emotion. Then utilize sensors in the phone that detect, monitor, and measure heart rate and blood pressure which have shown to increase during emotions of anger and stress, similarly found in EKG diagnostic machines. The electrode hat (hooked up to a smart phone wirelessly) and phone sensors can emit signals and analysis to the user on the other end of the phone to conduct an emotional analysis. We can measure and extract the facial muscle contractions that occurred while users make facial expressions in response to stimuli, and acquire an individual's motion data for six facial expressions from each participant using an optical motion capture system. We will be analyzing a combination of alpha and beta brain wave frequencies, and facial muscle contractions from motion capture data to determine its corresponding emotion. The next article goes even deeper in analyzing and testing different brain frequencies (expanding beyond alpha and beta frequencies tested in the article prior) with corresponding emotions. This article focused on recognizing emotion from the human brain via EEG signals. They developed a stress-reduction system to analyze EEG signals and classifying them into 5 main frequencies (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and theta) and then change the emotional state of the subject, if subject is found to be stressed, by use of video and audio. Brain computer interface is like a pathway between wired brain and external device. It is commonly used for researching, mapping, assisting, repairing human cognitive or sensory motor functions. BCI works on the neurons in out brain, each nerve connected to one another by axons and dendrites. Then an electrical signal is produced by the difference in electrical potential in ions when neuron to neuron are as fast as 250mps. The basic mechanism of a BCI is to measure the minute difference in voltage between the neurons, then the signal is amplified and filtered. According to the second article, there are five type of electrical patterns of brain waves, which can be observed by researchers through electroencephalograph. Throughout you day, all the five waves will be displayed but one wave will always dominate the others as per the emotions. For example, while waking up you will have slower waves (alpha or theta) activity more as compared to beta wave. Beta wave is used for logical thinking and conscious though. There are two sets of beta-low and high. The high beta wave often expressed that the subject is subjected to stressed state which can be increased by the use of coffee or energy drinks and in order to decrease the beta wave, the method meditation has proved most effect. Alpha wave helps us calm down when necessary and promotes feeling of deep relaxation. It can be increased by the use of alcohol, marijuana, and anti-depressants. Gamma wave is used for learning, memory, and information processing. To attain high gamma wave, extreme meditation is recommended. Theta wave is used for daydreaming and sleeping. In order to increase the theta wave, the use of depressants is done. Delta wave is associated with the deepest levels of relaxation, restorative and healing sleep. In order to increase delta wave, the use of depressants and sleep is advised. These frequencies are recorded for the analysis of the emotional state. From this, we will measure and monitor for five different types of brain waves to determine what emotional state and response the users and test subject emits when subjected to a certain stimuli such as music, visual photography, and movies that influence distinct emotional responses. According to the second article, Neurosky developed a headset that adapts the EEG and EMG technology to fit in entertainment, automobile and health. This device uses inexpensive dry sensors for linking low-cost EEG signals whereas older devices use conducive gel between sensors and head. It also includes built in electrical noise reduction software/hardware, and utilize embedded for signal processing and output. The frequencies produced by the human brain are analyzed using the device NeuroSky and then sent to the computer. The emotional state produced by the brain activity is categorized using five frequencies. This type of headset can be used in the fictional vignette, where the user can analyze her boss's emotional state based on the brain frequencies and facial expressions. From this, we can construct a headset similar to NeuroSky's technology, and combine with a headset that is used for on phones for communication, where the boss (from the fictional vignette) will be using a headset connected to his phone to communicate with Jane (from the fictional vignette), and his headset will utilize Nuerosky's technology to measure and monitor his alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and theta brain waves. Then the boss's brain wave detector headset will transmit that information to his cellphone, which will then transmit the brain wave data to Jane's cell phone. In order to calm her boss, she can play music with delta waves on her phone via Youtube, for her boss to listen to. Delta waves are associated with the deepest levels of relaxation, restorative and healing sleep, and exhibits robust delta waves activity when a patient takes therapeutic medicinal treatment with anti-depressants; therefore the same anatomical and physiological neural responses occurs among delta wave stimulation in relation to sleep and anti-depressant medicinal treatment. In terms of data integration, we will start with data curation and data cleaning, as data is invariably dirty, thus it needs to be cleaned and corrected. So the data will be curated based on the type of frequency, such as alpha, beta, delta, gamma, and theta wave frequencies (5 frequencies), and then the wave most prominent detected by the  headset will interpret the wave frequency and match it to its corresponding emotion. This is through the process of consolidation, which curates the data. The attributes of the emotions will be lined up and then undergo transformations so as the ETL tools give us a scripting language such as Python. Then Python scripts are written that convert IBM SA to IBM incorporated. The ETL vendors will provide a workflow so that we can define modules, and some programming code. However, if one wants to use 1,000 sources, then the technology is simply too intensive and is not going to scale, therefore ETL will not work. So in terms of data preparation tools, enterprise curation tools, and data lakes, these will be part of the future for the futuristic vignette in data cleaning, curation, and integration. For data preparation, we will utilize Informatica, which is a large ETL vendor which used to be called Sprinbok. Or other vendors may be used such as Rev Alteryx which is popular or Trifacta or Paxata, and through their machine learning processes are improving over time, self learning then improving executions according to their contexts. For data curation, we will use "Deep Dive" from Stanford (end to end pipeline) where is involves extraction, cleaning, and transformation. Involved with entity consolidation and schema consolidation. Given that data cleaning is complicated, we will need to run a collection of tools to clean appropriately according to the context. Running multiple tools to completely do thorough cleaning of the data, such as domain-specific tools and address-specific tools. We will utilize data curation tools which are vertical and specialize in some specific vertical domain such as functionally Tamr. The data curation tool will exhibit enrichment, where auxiliary data is integrated to customer specific domains which are reading brain wave frequencies in relation to mood and emotion. We will have specialized algorithms that work well in the vertical trajectory, with domain specific rules pertaining to emotions. We can conduct data integration at scale through procurement, then run some analytics on the data. For storage we will utilize cloud computing, with a provider, where several providers today offer databases as a hosted service, so the provider will set up and manage a database for us and conduct all of the administration. As the user, one will directly see and use the database. The cloud system provide easy access to large scale infrastructures that would otherwise be very hard to set up and operate in house. For example, if you need to store 100 terabytes of data, or if you need to launch 100 servers to do a computation, this can be quite a bit of set up and administration. Yet with cloud computing, it's possible to have all these factors set up and administered and have access to the resources right away and start trying out a computation. We can utilize Amazon S3 or simple storage service EC2, elastic compute cloud, which lets you store bytes and launch virtual servers to run computations. Google is another option. At the next level up, we will have hosted services that provide a higher level piece of software (optimal) and just host and manage it by the user. We can utilize Amazon's relational database servers or RDS, which has hosted versions of just database software, including for example MySQL or Oracle. In order to confirm that the database is up and running, highly available, we need to establish backups and replicate the data archives to data centers for disaster recovery in case one if the data centers shut down. With the database hosted on Amazon, Amazon manages all of these properties. We can utilize Splunk software for analyzing log files from servers that runs in the cloud, so when we point logs from servers to it, Splunk will analyze them and show interesting graphical representations of brain wave  frequencies and interesting things such as distinct or multiple emotions exhibited. We can utilize Tableau, a visualization software that lets us quickly explore and slice through data ( the hosted version). If in case there is too much data, we've got a volume problem and trouble storing it, and a velocity complication. With a data integration challenge. We have many options, such as business intelligence tools such as Business Object or Cognos, where we essentially run SQL analytics at scale and multi node column stores with sophisticated compression, the winning technical solution. Production data warehouses in the multi petabyte range run on hundreds of nodes everyday in production so this is feasible. Let's run analytics to log how many times people utilize this technology, where a record is added to a data warehouse, running a gigantic cluster with hundreds of nodes. The software will come out with updated recent versions to fix bugs and innovate features. NvRAM is going to be incorporated into the storage hierarchy in terms of nonvolatile memory, replacing Flash or augment Flash. It will be between the disk and main memory becoming a more complex storage hierarchy. We will have more flexibility with storage layout. The data scientists will run predictive models based on the frequencies, and integrate this into the software. Today in many domains, large data sets are inexpensive to collect and store, but unfortunately processing these data sets is requiring higher degrees of parallelism. So its very inexpensive to collect large amounts of data if you have an application that generates them. In order to read through terabytes quickly and efficiently end to end, we need to parallelize them. For the large computations we run at scale, from loading the data, transforming it, and indexing it into a format that enables fast computations it needs to be conducted in parallel. Complex analytics functions that might require custom code will also need to be parallelized over large clusters. We can program these large clusters similar to Google, where there are thousands of computers organized in racks with a fairly detailed topology that dictates which computer can easily talk to other ones. With applications that spread out across this whole data center to run their computations. We will put many nodes together to prevent probability of failures and faults. So any long-running computation will have ways to handle failures within the computers running it. To prevent stragglers, when a node hasn't failed but it simply running slower, we will utilize wide array of new programming models that have been developed. Parallel computing models designed to solve this problem. In the data-parallel models, the programmers will specify the operation that it wants the system to run on all the data, where the system schedules where the operation runs. It's even possible for the system to run parts of the operation twice on different nodes to recover from failure. MapReduce which is the model introduced by Google and popularized by the open source Hadoop platform utilizes this in terms of big data processing. We can express more types of computations efficiently through the system, building higher level systems compiled into programs such as MapReduce. We can utilize Spark, which supports in-memory data sharing between computations and build system on top of each other such as Shark, which does large-scale SQL queries. For specific domains of computations there are more specialized system we can choose from such as the Pregel computation model for large-scale graph processing. For large-scale, interactive SQL queries we can utilize Dremel. For real time processing, systems such as Storm and Samza may be utilized, a data-parallel modell used for a wide variety of applications. First they, extract, transform, and load (ETL workloads), taking data that arrives in potentially an unstructured format or an arbitrary external format, and transforming it into forms that enable faster queries for indexing, ad hoc queries etc. We will build a system that performs well while running on many cores in a large computer (scalability), in the multi-core system it will consist of partitions in the system with n cores going to infinity. Analogous to independent cores working in parallel with one another. If partitioning does not solve the scalability issue, we can apply a stack data structure that can perform lock-free reads (Read-Copy-Update). We can utilize a linear time algorithm for each frequency with its corresponding emotion, inputs encoded by n bits, distinguishing data that has a certain property such as a prominent brain wave frequency from other brain wave frequencies, then utilize classical approximation to find the correct output (the prominent brain wave frequency). For processing massive amounts of data we can utilize two algorithmic techniques: streaming and sampling. We will process the whole data set of brain wave frequencies, and then pick up the prominent brain wave frequency (the sample choice), performs computation, and the algorithm will perform the processing only on this sample (first step), reducing the amount of resources needed to perform the computation (sampling). The streaming algorithm touches all the data elements, then store some sketch or synopsis of the data. So instead of storing the whole data set, it would only store partial information, such as the prominent brain wave frequency. We will perform a discrete Fourier Transformation, a well known task in signal processing. This algorithm applies to data which is sparse, to signals which have a very small number of large coefficients in the spectrum. The coefficients in the prominent brain wave frequency (signals) will be selected, and the algorithms will run very efficiently because they will access only a few samples of data (the prominent frequency), running faster and more efficient than the Fourier Transform algorithm. In data compression for big data analytics, we will utilize techniques for learning of patterns from tiny coresets. We are going to efficiently extract data, the meaningful parts of data sets, such as the prominent brain wave frequency from the rest of the frequencies. Running an algorithm on a huge data set we have options, such as the technique coresets. We can extract data reliably in information retrieval through recall, which tells us the fraction of relevant instances classified correctly (the prominent brain wave frequency). The precision tells us the fraction of instances that were correctly classified. For pattern recognition, we can take the brain wave frequency signals and with our data-compression analytics that correspond to emotion, we can take that information and map it into real activity of human emotion and mood. How do we know frequencies/signals correspond to a particular emotion or mood? Through coreset in data compression. We will then implement a machine learning component into the module, where the computer programs learn from experience, with the use of theory algorithms. The algorithms will incorporate and detect brain wave frequencies, then match them to corresponding emotions. In order to build a secure computer system that handles large amounts of data, prevent cyber attacks, prevent confidential data to be corrupted, we will utilize the database storing approach. We have an application server and database server storing all of the data on disk. The application server is going to issue database queries in a language such as SQL over to the database server, and the database will return results to the application. We will utilize encryption, placing some sort of proxy in the middle between the application server and the database. The proxy is going to store a key, so whenever queries travel from the application server to the database, they'll first be intercepted by this proxy and all the data in those queries will be encrypted before being passed onto the database server. When the database server to the proxy, these results will be encrypted but the proxy will be able to decrypt them using its key and send the plain text data back to the application server. That component, the database server and the disk, never store plain text data, never have accesss to the decryption key, and even if compromised, attackers will not be able to decrypt plain text data and leak confidential information. This allows us to prevent threats even if the server happens to be compromised without having to enumerate all of the different avenues of attack. We will utilize CryptDB, specialized encryption schemes to efficiently execute database queries over encrypted data, order preserving encryption, and onions of encryption (fully homomorphic encryption). In terms of privacy and security systems, we will implement secure architectures, network security, secure programming languages, and system verification. Along with algorithmic solutions  such as key cryptography, multi-party computation, secret sharing, distributing trust, and computing on encrypted data. We will also discuss public policy issues in cybersecurity, such HIPAA and medical confidentiality. In terms of establishing computer security, system security, and hardware and operating systems architectures, we will utilize the verification of computer systems using mathematical methods, the design of secure programming languages, cryptography and the security of the network infrastructure. In terms of cybersecurity, we will adopt the philosophy we espouse at CSAIL, which is a holistic philosophy to match the holistic philosophy that the attackers have. In particular, we want a systems-wide architectural view of security that encompasses the diversity of threat models and the diversity of layers of abstraction that comprise computer systems. Security properties can't be isolated to a particular layer. Attackers aren't isolated to a particular layer. And so we are going to have to have a systems-wide architectural viewpoint that cuts across layers in order to build security from the ground up in our computer systems. The big advantage of building security from the ground up is that we can have a security by default paradigm that is going to allow us to remove program error as a source of vulnerability, because we've actually shown the security of our designs as we design them and through the process of implementation. The three examples that I'm going to describe to you fall into three different categories of defensive mechanisms, which will be incorporated into the cybersecurity system. The first is one of prevention. Preventing attack might be that you simply increase the difficulty of an attack, and an attacker goes somewhere else. Another way is to quickly isolate an attack to a particular component and quickly recover from it, because the isolation has allowed us to diagnose exactly what the attack has done to us in between the injection of the attack and the discovery. There are resilient systems that are capable of withstanding attacks, because the system has redundancy. Here we can implement BitLocker, a secure storage facility with web security, mobile phone security, and design of robust software that can recover from attacks and continue to provide useful services.
In order to prevent deputy confusion, we can eliminate deputy confusion through the paradigm of information flow tracking. Deputy confusion is when entities don't know who they're quite working for in terms of who is executing commands. In this exemplary vignette we have Jane's (the main character from the vignette) browser that is talking to a web application server on her phone. The web application server is going to be talking to Jane as well as many other users at any given time (such as her boss). The web application server has a SQL module inside of it that is going to interact with an application database. The application database is going to have Jane's data as well as a whole host of other users' data. In particular, Jane may be logged in to the application server the same time that John (her boss) is logged in. The application server knows about Jane and John, but the SQL module inside the application server combines John's data and Jane's data all in one conglomerate blob, and treats them the same when it talks to the actual application database. The SQL server and application database could be through of as confused deputies. Not only are the database modules confused deputies, but if we had an email server that the application server is interacting with, or a video server, these are confused deputies as well. They don't quite know who they're working- John or Jane. In order to implement the feature described, for each of the modules you have to render the module in a distinct way, depending on the access control associated with the particular person who view we're trying to discover. For the modules, do we use Jane's credentials or John's credentials? We prevent bugs and complications through information flowtracking. The basic idea is that we're going to add labels to data. We could label data by saying this data was Jane's data. It was typed by Jane. Or it was labeled by John's data, and written by John. Then we can implement the option where John's data can be viewed by Jane's and other users. There may be the other option that other data is not viewable by John's friends. Not only will we label data, we're going to conduct two other functions. We will filter data in such a way that privacy isn't violated. But data does get transformed as it moves through the system. And so we're going to have to process the data as it moves through the system and process the labels associated with that data as well. And finally, at the point where the data may be exposed on an output channel, which may be email or emotion, for example, or simply somebody's web browser window, we're going to have to potentially filter the data and block it from appearing is we think, or the system thinks, that there's going to be a privacy violation associated with the exposure of the data.
Incorporated into the CSAIL methodology is the Resin on Rails system. When Jane is connecting to her browser to the application server of the module, John may be sending commands over to the application server. Each command is going to have a policy object associated with it, such as when Jane was creating a user account for herself, there would have been a policy object attached to it. These policy objects are going to be processed in the system. As the data changes, the policy objects propagate with the data; there's another place that you have data coming into the system and that's where the database is read. Every time the database is read, we're going to have to attach policy object associated with each of the database entries. So that all of the inputs are going to have policies associated with their privacy levels. The rest of the functions will consist of processing the data and ensuring that the policy objects get propagated along with the data objects. Then we have to output the data. This may happen because the data is rendered on someone else's web browser, in this case Jane's friend, or it may be the case that we're going to write into the database. We're going to have to look at the data packets, evaluate the policy associated with it, and decide if it is to be blocked or not. Resin on Rails tags objects that come into the system, ensures that the tags or labels are propagated through the system, and makes sure that policies are checked before data is ouputted because that's where privacy violations can occur.
The next security mechanism is resilience under attack. Within encrypted computation, the trusted computing base of a system is the set of software and hardware components that the under needs to trust. If the TCB is secure, then the entire system is secure. It doesn't matter that components outside the TCB are compromised. The TCB for current systems includes the operating system, which happens to be about 20 million lines of code in most modern systems. So it's hard to imagine that this 20 million lines of code is completely bug free and completely trustworthy. The trusted platform module is a hardware component that attests to the veracity of operating system code. And since operating systems aren't guaranteed to be secure and they haven't been verified, the TPM does not really provide real security. The reason why we have so many security breaks is because of the size of the TCB, which brings us to the important question. Can we shrink the size of the TCB and trust less? With an operating system that's 20 million lines of code, there's going to be bugs in it. So it makes sense to trust less and shrink the TCB to the point where you have many fewer lines of code to trust. One way to shrink the size of the TCB is to trust nothing on the server side, which we will implement. We will have to augment tamper resistance processors to protect against this class of attacks where privacy is leaked through memory access pattern analysis. The Ascend Processor, which was just built at MIT will be utilized, and it accomplished this goal of completely obfuscating accesses to memory through a concept that's called oblivious random access memory. The processor could be running on trusted software under the aegis of an untrusted operating system and would still not leak privacy associated with any that it's computing upon. For example, we could be running malicious software under a malicious operating system, and an adversary who's imply looking at the pins of ascend, will not be able to discover anything about the data that is being computed upon inside of Ascend Processor. The Ascend Processor eliminates leakage across it pins by functioning in three ways. First, all of the data that enters the processor is encrypted using a secret key that is only known to the client and the processor. Second, when the processor making memory accesses, it is doing so in an obfuscated fashion, using oblivious random access memory. This is a particular protocol that guarantees that there is no leakage that is possible through the memory access patterns. Finally, to ensure that there's no timing leakage whatsoever, the processor makes periodic memory accesses at specific times throughout the entire computation. The adversarial competition, itself runs for a fixed period of time. Using these three mechanisms, we can prove security of this Ascend Processor and guarantee that the clients Jane and John have no privacy leakage whatsoever.
Retro at CSAIL will be incorporated into the system, as it functions by recording the history of all computations in the machine in a very fine grained fashion for cyber attack recognition and monitoring purposes. Retro tries to minimize the amount of damage that is caused by the attack, and also minimize the amount of work that the user has to do to recover. Inside the machine, it computes just like any other computer, although its memory is special so that you can't tell anything from the memory either. But everything that comes in and out is encrypted. And so you're guaranteed privacy, unless somebody can break the encryption. Breaking the encryption can be very difficult. Now, a third thing that processor can do for you is that it can enforce access policies. And to a very limited degree, today's machines do that as well. So every page of virtual memory, for example, has read, write, and execute bits on it that control what the machine can do with those particular pieces of data.
We will implement Multics with rings, which are many level of permission for access to the emotional and mood module (creating privacy and security measures). So Multics introduced an idea called rings. And the idea is that you have many levels of permission. Each one is more powerful than the one before it, with ring zero being the most powerful and the highest number ring being the least. You can change from one ring to the other by a mechanism called a gate call. And what that does is it lets you temporally execute one function at a different ring level. The permissions that are set up on a segment when you map it in are marked by what ring levels you have those permissions in. So you might be able to only read a file at level three, meaning three, two, one, and zero, but you would be able to write it at only a more privileged level, perhaps only at level zero, or maybe not at all. Similarly, some other user might have a different set of ring brackets, as they're called, for the same information. And so what this lets you do is in a very controlled way, for the duration of one computational step, to go from one level of privilege to another and then back. ideas about permissions and level of privilege. But in most machines that's really just the kernel versus user mode distinction. And finally, Multics had been programmed in a higher level language called PL1, and higher level language implentation will be encoded into the system.
We're going to examine examples of things like memory corruption, data disclosures, code injection, and a variety of new attack techniques that are a little bit bizarre, but I'll try to explain them so you can understand how they work. We will implement cybersecurity measures for this real case scenario that might possibly occur; here we will implement cybersecurity measures of protecting memory corruption. Let's start at the beginning-- memory corruption. This typically happens when your computer has been programmed to copy a block of data from one place to another. Most often to copy it from the network where a user is remotely talking to some server, and it copies data from the network buffers into some internal buffers of your program. OK. Well, that sounds perfectly innocuous. And so if we try to copy A here over C, well, it does just that and there's no problem. But now let's look at another case. Here we have two data structures that are next to each other, C and D. Again, the attacker crafts an attack in which a large segment of memory is copied, but the last part of it overwrites the return pointer. And that winds up pointing to a location of his choosing. So if he knows your memory layout, he can cause your program to jump to some piece of code that he wants executed rather than one that you want executed. Now, there's an elaborated version of this technique called return-oriented programming. And this is a bit bizarre. It was invented because current machines have protection against executing pages that have been written on. And so if I write code into a machine, that page is no longer executable and a code injection attack is no longer possible. But here's the thing. You have something like 45 million lines of code in your machine. There's plenty of code there. Why do I need to inject any? I just need to make the machine use your code for my purposes. So what I do as an attacker is, again, using an overflow technique, I overwrite the stack. And I overwrite it with data that winds up being pointers to short chunks of code. And these short chunks of code are called gadgets. So the solution, in short, is to add metadata to the data. And one way of thinking about that is widening the word so that associated with any piece of data is some metadata. The metadata tells us a few things that are critical. It tells us what type the data is. And it tells us who might own that data-- essentially the permission bits. That's an idea we've seen before in machines. So it's explicitly represented here as part of the metadata on every word in memory.
Now let's turn to another subject, that of information flow, and this is the subject of what information can get to whom. The goal here is to protect our information and make sure it doesn't get to places it shouldn't get to. The information for this vignette should travel between Jane and her boss John, utilizing the tag approach to information flow. The idea here again, is to have a tag. This could be in addition to the other tags we've talked about, or just using this for information flow. And usually this tag, in this case, is referred to as a label. A label might be any number of things. One easy way of thinking about this is, the label is simply the set of people who own this data. And you shouldn't be able to access this data unless all of those people have said you can. Another way of thinking of this label is it's a compartment, sort of in the way the Defense Department classifies data. And so unless you have secret clearance, you can't see secret data. As the data is combined in the ALU, the tags, or the labels, are combined by tag management unit. And so as a simple example, if I combine an unclassified piece of data with a secret piece of data, the result ought to be secret. Or, if I combine a secret piece with a high secret, then the result ought to be top secret. In addition, the processor is always running on behalf of somebody, and we represent that in a new register that's added to the processor architecture. This register is referred to as the principal register. It keeps track of who the principal is, that is, who is the processor running on behalf of right now? That principal could be a person. It could be a person in a very specific role. Or it could be part of the operating system, or part of the operating system acting in a very specific role. We have a lot of freedom in how we play with these two things, principals and labels. So an example policy would be, let's say I have a compartment of data that I'm willing to share with my friends. And let's say that John also has a compartment of data that he's willing to share with his friends. If some computation takes a piece of data from each of those two compartments and puts it together, then the label ought to say that this is data that can only be accessed by friends of both me and John. If the principal's John, and we're trying to add two pieces of data, and one piece comes from my compartment and one piece comes from John's compartment, then the rule says it's OK to do this, but the result should have a tag that says it's data that has to be OK'd by both John and Howie. So these are the three building blocks of the representation we're building into the machine. We have principals, we have compartments, and we have rules. Now the rules can be managed by software. They don't have to be wired into the machine. But they have to be enforced on every cycle. Another idea that came out of the SAFE project, a project I mentioned earlier, was the idea of doing all of this in a programmable hardware scheme, where we have rules in software that are cached inside the hardware in a special cache. And what we do on every cycle is, we combine a lot of fields here. We look at who the principal is, we look at the labels of both pieces of data that are being computed on, we look at what the instruction is that we're about to execute, and we also look at its label. And finally, the instruction counter itself also has a label on it.
In terms of privacy, the corporation who uses this technology can save the patient's information in a private cloud for the corporation. Furthermore, this technology would be considered a diagnostic medical device, and all medical information is protected by HIPAA and is therefore confidential. For diagnostic purposes, they could save the information to an electronic medical record software system that is protected and encrypted. If the technology is utilized and applied in the medical sphere, HIPAA confidentiality protects the privacy. However, if the technology is used for other commercial areas such as entertainment, gaming, advertising, and movies, the information is not protected by HIPAA. For instance, gaming and movie companies can construct games and movies with specific frequency sounds to emit a specific emotional response.
