I just loved these cut villains, one whose design def seemed like it was given to raine when they got cut. (I wonder if the color palette was similar, but we don't have a reference to that so idk)

Thoughts on the cut episode below:

An episode where king and owlbert of all characters bond is kinda neat, especially since it provides owlbert himself a bit more character here.

The opening is def far different from any of the final ones we ever see in the series, in fact it feels like it should be taking place during the episode but it can't be given we see hooty from being sick to not being sick in pretty chronological order?

A focus on the healing coven was nice to see, especially since we never got that in the show itself, and get some idea of their powerset and what they do magic wise.

So Manny was an ambulance driver, and Camila was a nurse in this. People originally assumed camila was a nurse when the show started, and it makes me wonder if that was changed between seasons at some point cause clearly the crew decided to change her profession and it's unclear why.

you can use your palisman as a communicator? and an umbrella? I do think it's so weird that even at the very end of the show, they establish brand new rules for palisman. Like them being able to shapeshift into objects is straight up not explained and just sorta....happens in the show, like i feel like hunter would have no issue hiding flap if this is a thing. (It also kinda makes stringbean's ability slightly less unique) Like this is displayed in these boards, but they kept it even in the show itself, and i think palisman might need a proper rulebook.

On that same note, owlbert uses magic in this board, like we kinda knew palisman could do some magic without a witch, but this is the only time we've seen one use it to fight another witch that wasn't the batqueen. Like owlbert tries to full on blast people in this. I don't know if removing this episode makes this ability less canon in the world itself since they still can do magic in the show, it's just worth noting that palisman, according to this board, CAN fight back, even if they're not incredibly strong it seems. Certainly the kinda thing that makes you think on other episodes tbh.

This episode also brings up the idea that eda actually CAN and DOES bring human food to the BI, which never happens in the show, in fact luz implies she gets to eat very little options there, so this idea seems no longer canon?

The demon hunters at one point don't even seem to recognize owlbert as a palisman, which does not entirely make sense given they seem to be mostly common to the townsfolk, so I'm kinda glad for that plot hole being gone.

Caduceia makes it out like the emperor's coven forced her to teach? and she thought handing over a house demon to belos would get her out of teaching as if it were some kinda punishment or job she was made to do? I have questions

side note, house demons are called rare in this, like they're not common, not sure if this still applies in the final show, but yeah.

there's some very sweet moments in this with luz and eda especially, but also some funny moments, and some jokes that land a little less....i don't think we needed Caduceia to be kissing her snake like that from that angle, even if it was meant to be a little uncomfortable.

one reason i think this episode did get cut? we got a glyph in this

a healing glyph, which has some ties to water based on it's symbol

i'm guessing since they kept the main glyphs element based, a healing glyph would of stuck out and been a bit weird. Like it just heals people, it doesn't produce water despite looking close to the alchemy symbol for water, and well....we already got ice so this would be redundent.

so yeah, this episode introduced a new glyph that saved them in the end so it would of come back in future episodes, but to keep it simple that would mean cutting the entire episode as a whole just to keep the four.

Since they enjoyed Caduceia's design so much, they must've repurposed it for raine somewhere down the line.

you had been married to bi-han for about a year now. your duties separate from the lin kuei often required you to travel far and abroad where you couldn't see your husband for weeks at the time. you didn't complain too much at first, but it got a bit frustrating after some time -- nothing that you couldn't overcome though. on the other hand, bi-han was IRRITABLE. it felt like the whole stronghold was walking on eggshells around its grandmaster, careful not to say or do the one thing that would set him off. he was sexually frustrated and grumpy on incomprehensible levels. everyone around the clan noticed how much angrier he had become. he'd bark orders at an unprecedented rate and mean mugged everyone who came across his path. even having the kitchen staff make all his favourite meals from when he was younger did nothing to wipe the horrible scowl painted on his face. when you were at the lin kuei stronghold, you and bi-han collectively sat down with the rest of the ninjas for dinners -- something that bi-han often avoided before meeting you. however, with a bit of nudging from you, he started to participate in group dinners more, even enjoying them (though he would never admit to this). there would still be a grimace on his face, but having you beside him made everything more palatable anyway. when asked why he seemed a little more irritable than usual, he stormed off and dismissed the question.

"i am the grandmaster, i will NOT answer to you."

smoke had realized that soon enough the only way to get him over his mood fluctuations and have some semblance of peace would be to get you back at the dojo. your phone's ringtone blared alarmingly, and you picked up the call in annoyance.

"tomas? what are you calling me about? can it wait? i'm really busy right now."

smoke lets out a sigh of relief now that he's gotten ahold of you.

"(name)! we really need you back at the lin kuei. bi-han's really ...cranky without you there," he whispers the last part, almost like he's scared bi-han will snatch him up out of nowhere. you pay no heed to tomas' concerning remarks, continuing to write down on the ledger on your desk.

"i'm sure my husband is just a little overwhelmed with his duties right now, this has nothing to do with me. give him some slack. he's fine."

smoke spoke with more urgency now.

"(name), he really is frustrated because of you. today, frost said '(name)’s hair' but he thought she meant '(name)’s here' and i swear i thought i saw his eyes gloss over like a dog seeing its owner for the first time in forever. ever since he found out frost was talking about your hair and not about you actually being here, he's been giving frost dirty looks. i think she's starting to get pissed off now that i think about it..."

you put down your pen and look up at the curtains of the hotel room in front of you, sighing. it was more serious than you previously expected. your face twisted in cruel humour, and you knew it'd be funny to use this opportunity to prank your husband and see what his reaction is.

"you know what tomas. i'm sure i can get out of these meetings and make it back to the stronghold by tomorrow dawn. i'll come back."

tomas sighs, finally unanxious.

"thank you, (name)! i knew you'd pu-"

"but i wanna play a prank on him. and you're gonna help me observe and set the environment."

tomas sighs once again, but out of exasperation.

"i don't wanna participate if it's too extreme. i've already caught the brunt of bi-han's verbal torment this week." you chuckle at his expense. "don't worry tomas, i'll make sure he doesn't hurl an ice pick at you. this prank is harmless, i promise. it's just for me to see his reaction." "fine. what are you planning on doing?" "sit tight and don't stress. i'll tell you when i'm on my way back."

you had informed tomas of the most perfect plan. you'd get back to your husband -- not long enough that he'd go back to his normal, serene state when he was with you but enough that he'd manage to calm his heartrate a bit. you were planning on inviting the daughter of a family friend of bi-han's family when he was younger. she had eyes for him all these years, still pointing to hints that she would pursue him despite the fact that he was now married to you. you would invite her over and have her bug bi-han (dare you say, flirt) and follow him all around the stronghold. you wanted to see if that so-called sexual frustration that tomas was referring to earlier really mattered in the case of every woman or if it was exclusive to only you. was it toxic? perhaps. could it be considered manipulative to use his father's family friend's daughter who had probably loved him for the last 10 years to get him closer to you? most likely. would you love every second of it nonetheless? absolutely.

you didn't inform bi-han of your arrival. as far as he knew, you were still going to be a few weeks out from coming back. you walked in through a secret back entrance bi-han had only told you about just in case the stronghold was ever attacked and he needed to get you out safely. you walked through the corridors and heard your husband's hoarse voice coming from the large drawing room across from you. you walked in quietly and sneakily, but obviously not subtly enough considering bi-han had his eyes immediately on you.

"(name)....," he almost whispered, his eyes widening.

you give everyone in the room a wave, including the senior ninjas, which they kindly return with a nod of their own.

"clear the room," bi-han asserts hastily. his tone isn't as harsh as it was before. the ninjas comply almost immediately when they've noticed his demeanor soften up a bit, realizing that you've worked your magic. as soon as the last ninja is out the door, bi-han is by your side in a half of an instant, taking your face into his broad hands.

"hey," you say softly. you were tired from your trip, but being in his presence and ironically his warmth doubled the exhaustion and fatigue your body had attempted to so valiantly fight off.

"you didn't inform me of your early arrival."

you smile into his palm, your head tilting a bit as you rest your own palm on his hand.

"wanted to surprise you, my love."

he looks at you intensely for a few seconds before snapping back to reality.

"i will excuse myself from my duties today. perhaps i can get kuai liang to take over for me."

"why, bi-han? we can catch up late. i don't want you neglecting your duties because of me."

a small scoff escapes his lips.

"it's been much of the other way around. we have not seen each other in weeks. the lin kuei can do without its grandmaster for a few hours."

you look at him mischievously for a brief second before you hear the faint sounds of footsteps outside the drawing room. your plan was coming to fruition before your eyes. rina had come along just on time.

"actually, bi-han, i think we might have a change of plans. rina is coming over today!"

bi-han shifted his gaze from you to rina, who was standing out in the hallway. it was safe to say he was unamused.

"rina. i wasn't aware you were going to be here. it seems as though i've been misinformed on MANY fronts," he says, side-eyeing you. you pay him no mind, bringing rina closer.

"i have to deal with a bit more business-"

bi-han looked at you in disbelief. who the hell did you think you were, the president? a grandmaster yourself?

"--BUT i promise it won't take too long. rina wanted to catch up with you too, so i thought why not kill two birds with one stone?," you say, trying to resist the impending smirk on your face. bi-han was clearly displeased but you gave his arm a squeeze and whispered, "just a few hours," and he knew he'd have your company again in no time. he sighed quietly, before slightly nodding again.

"if i must."

you disappeared to find smoke and left bi-han with rina to do god knows what. you found tomas sparring with some of the newer initiates out in the courtyard and ran up to him, dragging him away from kombat.

"h-hey!," smoke exclaimed.

"c'mon! i finally got bi-han to agree to meeting with rina. now we gotta go hide around the place and see how he reacts with her around."

"this is ... not nice.." smoke remarks uneasily.

you roll your eyes. yeah it isn't nice, but it's funny and it's not like you actually meant any harm by this prank. you and tomas make your way to the blindspots around the lin kuei and spot bi-han walking as rina edges closer to him. you guys get in close enough to try and make sense of their conversation.

bi-han walks into his room and changes into a new hanfu, the same shade of dark blue he often wears. the collar part of the attire is folded, and rina brings her hand closer to fix it but just as she’s about to mend it, bi-han grabs her hand.

“what do you think you’re doing,” he lowly seethes, his eyebrows furrowing in anger.

rina shakes him off, annoyed. “i was just trying to help you, calm down!”

“unless i ask for your assistance, it is not required.” he says stoically before making his way down the corridor again. you and tomas both exchange a strange look. you didn’t want rina dead by the end of this prank. silence is shared between bi-han and rina for the next minute before the latter pipes up again.

"you haven't seen your wife in a while, huh?" rina asks coyly. bi-han turns to look at her for a second before turning back around and keeping that stern look on his face.

"no. her business keeps her away from m-the stronghold quite often,” bi-han remarks quietly.

“you know most wives stick with their husbands and don’t just leave them on their own for weeks on end. perhaps there may be something that you aren’t aware of…,” rina whispers before her statement trails off.

bi-han stops in his tracks and turns around yo face her.

“do not think to insinuate such horrible things about my wife again so shamelessly. you forget your place when you spew these things -- do not forget, SHE invited you here as a token of her hospitality. i did not."

rina chuckles. at first glance, it would seem that she does this sarcastically at first, but it seems like those words really stung rina.

"i'm leaving."

"you know your way out."

tomas sucks a deep breath in while you look down in defeat.

"ooh, boy. alright, i think you were right." "you needed a prank to prove that?!"

you wave tomas away.

"i will make sure there are no further casualties," you say to tomas, as you give him a small hit on his arm and make your way to your marital bedroom. on your way there, you see rina coming your way. you have to pretend like you didn't just witness your husband eat up this poor woman. you smile and put your hands together, bowing to her.

"hey rina! how's it going? i wa-" she puts her palm towards your face and continues walking away.

"i don't wanna hear from you." you watch her as she leaves, staring off into the distance momentarily and sighing. thank god she was an asshole or else it'd be really hard not to sympathize with her.

you walk into your bedroom and see bi-han on the bed. it seems he's getting ready for a bath -- he has a robe-like hanfu loosely draped around his body with his chest visible and and legs exposed. his hair is down and he is reaching for his back like it's aching.

"done with all my duties." you say innocently, your arms behind your back.

bi-han only looks at you momentarily and not even fully before going back to closing his eyes and mending his backache. you walk up to him carefully before sitting down beside him, using your hand to gently knead his back. he lets out a small groan of relief at your gesture.

"you've probably missed my massages all week," you say coyly.

"they were not the thing i missed."

you feel a blush creeping up on your cheek. being away from you for so long made him starved, like a dog meekly asking his owner for more rations. you felt horrible for being away for so long.

"i won't leave again for a while. i promise. we have lost-time to make up for," you say quietly. you prod at his hand and he envelops your hand in his, grazing the outside with his thumb.

"i'd rather not have lies spoken to me for the sake of momentary comfort."

you get up and gently move his right leg further to the right so you can sit on his thigh.

"now you know i can give you more than momentary comfort," you say smirking (but still VERY nervous).

in the blink of an eye, bi-han flips your body over and pins you to the bed, planting a long and voracious kiss at your lips. you bite at his lower lip and he responds by wrestling your tongue with his own. after what seems like an eternity of your mouths fighting for dominance with each other, you break the kiss as a string of saliva follows your mouths.

"you know, i saw everything that unfolded with rina. i think it really is safe to say we belong to one another."

bi-han looks at you with a hint of amusement. "i should have known you didn't have pure intentions with inviting her over." he slips his hand down your frame, erecting shivers from you. he plants small kisses trailing down your midsize.

"perhaps the rest of the lin kuei should know the grandmaster's wife isn't really as much of an angel as she lets everyone think she is."

Bing! (Chandler Bing x Male Reader)

It was another lovley day in New York, and our group was sitting in Monica and Rachel's apartment. 

"I mean, it's hard to enjoy a cup of ramen noodles after that. I mean, is that ridiculous? Can she believe she actually thought that?" Chandler asked. We all look at eachother before Rachel speaks up first. "Um... yeah" She laughs nervously under Chandler's gaze. "Well I mean, when I first met you, you know, I thought maybe you might possibly be." Chandler looks at her shocked. "You did?" "Yeah, but then you spent Phoebe's entire birthday party talking to my breasts, so I thought 'maybe not'" Chandler sets down his plate. "huh, did uh, did any of the rest of you guys think that when you first met me?" He asked the remainder of us. I coughed awkwardly and Phoebe and Monica replied saying they did. "Not me!" Joey assured. "Yeah, me neither. In college though, Susan Salidore did." Ross answers. "Well did you tell her I'm not?" My heart sank a bit at his words. Like I needed a reminder. "No" Ross replied, resuming eating. He paused again to say "Yeah, it's just cause I kinda wanted to go out with her too. So I told her you were actually seeing Bernie Spellman, who uh, also liked her so." I rolled my eyes. Joey highfived him. 

"Well, this is fascinating. So uh, what is it about me?" Chandler asked. "I don't know, cause you're smart and funny-" Chandler innterupts Phoebe "Ross and Y/n are smart and funny and you don't think that about them" My eyes widened a bit at his statement. I actually was gay, well, bi but still. I've hidden it from my friends because I'm not sure how they'd react, especially Chandler, considering I have a huge crush on him.  "Yeah, right!" They all laughed and I awkwardly laughed along with them. "Well, what is it?" Chandler asked again, clearly upset. "I-I don't know, you just have a, a quality!" Monica responded. Everyone agreed with her. "Oh, oh, a quality. Good, I thought you were going to be vauge about it." Chandler sighed.

Later that day it was just Phoebe, Joey, me, and Rachel Waitressing. Monica and Ross were visiting their sick nana and Chandler was at his apartment doing who knows what. "Hey, do you guys ever think about, um, if one of us were gay?" I asked hesitantly. I need to come out eventually, might as well test the waters. "I wouldn't really care, I've dated a few girls" Phoebe shrugged, making my eyes go wide. "You have?" Joey and I gasped. "Yeah, it's not a big deal. I mean, I like guys too, it's more about the soul, y'know?" She explained. I smiled to myself and nodded my head. I totally understood what she meant. I mean, sure it helps for people to be pretty, but I've always been more focused on a person's personality than anything else. "Wait a minute, why did you ask Y/n? Did Chandler say somethin to ya?" He asked, sounding a bit hopeful. I looked at him quizzically. "No, why?" His face dropped and he insisted it was nothing. 

After a bit Joey went to join Chandler in his apartment, I looked over at Phoebe nervously before scooting a little closer to her. "Um, Pheebs?" She looks up at me to continue. "So, you're attracted to men and women?" She nodded, smiling. "It's ok Y/n, you can say it." Huh, guess she already knew. "I um. I do too." I smile sheepishly. She sweeps me into a hug and squeals as quietly as possible. "Thank god, I know this great guy that you'd absolutely love!" I chuckle at her. It's been a few weeks since that moment, and I'd decided it was finally time to tell everyone. We were all gathered in the girl's apartment, and I stood up in front of them all. "Ok, so, I have something to tell you all, nut you have to promise me you won't freak out." "Oh god, you didn't get back with Elizabeth. did you?" Monica gasped. I chuckled and shook my head. "No, it's uh... I'm bisexual, it means I um, I like men and women" I smiled sheepishly at the group. There was a moment of silence before Monica and Rachel tackled me in a hug, Joey smiled at me and pats my shoulder, and Ross and Chandler look at me shocked. I was terrified that they'd say something bad but Ross just sputtered out "Good for you!" and came to join the hug. "Ah, what the hell?" Joey smiled and joined in on the hug, as well as Phoebe. Chandler just stood there, gawking, and it terrified me. 

"Sooo, any special guy make you want to share the news?" Monica teased after we all had sat back down. Chandler still hadn't said a word.  "Well, not yet, but Pheebs said she was gonna set me up with someone." I blushed. "Oh! Oh! Alexander, yeah! He said he's free saturday if you want me to set you up for this weekend!" Phoebe cheered. I agreed to it and everyone seemed really excited for me, except for the silent Chandler. 

It was sunday morning, and I yawned as I left my bedroom to grab a cup of coffee. "Hey, N/n, Do you have any eggs?" Joey asked, letting himself into my apartment. "Joe, I gave you that key for emergencies." I nervously laughed, glancing towards my room. "So what? It's not like I'll see anything-" he was cut off by my bedroom door opening and a tall handsome man walked out, calling for me. "Ohhoho, someone got lucky!" Joey teased. I blushed and glared at him "eggs are in the fridge." I grumbled, glancing at the man next to my room. "So, uh, Alex, this is Joey." I awkwardly muttered, The two nodded at eachother. "Hey Joe, whats-" Chandler stopped when he saw the three of us awkwardly standing there. "Oh, that's what."  He huffed, before storming out. "What's his problem?" Alex asked. 

"So, was he hot?" Monica asked me and Joey. "Yeah" I blushed. "Oooo, I knew you two would get along!" Phoebe squealed. "Yeah, it's great" Chandler mumbled. "What's got you down?" "Nothing" He grumbled. "It's just, do we always have t talk about whowe date? Can't we talk about something else?" and there it is, exactly what I feared. He was uncomfortable with me talking about dating a man. I raised an eyebrow "How come you've never had a problem before?" I asked, annoyed. "Well, I, Uh-" He sputtered. "Look Chandler, if you're uncomfortable with me seeing a man just say it!" I huff, storming off.

I sat alone in my apartment, Snuggled up under a blanket, grumbling about Chandler under my breath. Why does it matter to him who I'm dating? It's none of his beeswax! A knock at my door sounded. "I'm not in the mood Pheebs" I assumed she came to comfort me, but the voice coming from behind the door wasn't hers. "Hey, Y/n, it's me." It was Chandler. I stormed over to the door, swinging it open. "What do you want?" I asked sharply. "Look, I-I, I owe you an explanation" "Sure as hell do" I interjected, stepping aside to let him in. "Ok, look, I've only told one other person this before and I don't know how to say it so I'm just going to blurt it out. I'm bisexual and I may like you" He said the last part faster, but I caught it. "R-Really? All this time you, you liked me?" I breathed. "Yes. E-Ever since I met you, you took my breath away. You're handsome, smart, funny, and-and I've only ever liked one guy in college so I thought it was a phase, y'know? I thought there was no way you would like me, because I'd only ever seen you with girls, and then you came out and I thought about tewlling you but you went on a date with that guy and-" I cut him off by smashing my lips onto his. After a few moments of the best kiss I've ever had, we pulled away. "Wow" Chandler breathed. "Sooo, do you wanna head to your room?" He smirked at me. "Bing!" I gasped and hit his chest.

AITA for retroactively cheating on my partner?

Look, I know the title sounds kinda dumb, but it was kind of the best way I could sum it up. This also might get a little long. I'm just trying to give the context it needs that I feel sorta led me to the decisions I made.

I (22M) went on my first vacation with my partner (25F) last summer. Our vacation was to a relatively local spot not too far out of the city that's decently popular. We'd been dating at that point for around 18 months, though a lot of our dating had been done online cuz of the whole global pandemic thing. When the restrictions started loosening she started getting pushy about me moving in. This caused some tension between us, but it always kind of fizzled out. I still lived with my dad at that point. I'd never moved in with her, since I always wanna be really absolutely sure about these things beforehand, and I'll admit to viewing our week long vacation as sort of a trial run for maybe, one day, taking that step. All of this is just context for the fact that I was really serious about her. It was also the first real adult relationship that I'd been in.

If it was meant to be a trial for moving in, the vacation probably brought to the surface all the issues that I'd had with her. It was seriously a disaster. Our first day was great, but she spent a lot of the next two days taking calls from work and having some "alone time". I was really pissed off on the third day, waking up to ask if she wanted to go swimming, and having her tell me she was up for hours, and if I wanted to go I should've talked to her earlier. I suggested things we could do together, and we did eat lunch together and go to the pool, but she wasn't at all interested in doing anything else with me. After lunch, she sort of disappeared, so I went to the bar myself and considered texting her to join me. I got distracted talking to a guy, and soon enough we were super invested in the conversation together.

For context, I'm probably somewhere on the bi/pan end of things, but I grew up and continued living in a close minded small town. Especially last year, I was very much not out, not comfortable with people seeing me as in any way lgbtq adjacent, and still holding onto a lot more internalised stuff than I was willing to admit to.

This guy (who I'll call R) and I hit it off. We had lots in common, and he was fun to hang around with, and a good listener. I won't lie, I did find him pretty physically attractive, but naturally, it wasn't a huge issue. I've never had a problem being faithful, it's something I value over anything else in a relationship. When I spoke to my girlfriend about him later, she make some teasing remarks towards me about him being my "boyfriend". I was extremely sensitive about this, and snapped at her, to which she called me oversensitive and complained I never understand her jokes. I, being more mean than I should've been, told her she should try being funny, and she just called me misogynistic, which I resented, so I walked out, and came back later when I was sure she was asleep.

The next day, she shut me off completely, which I understood. I apologised, but I appreciated that she needed some space. I ended up meeting R at the pool again. We went for a hike, which took longer than expected, and made it home at dinner, which we got together. He insisted on paying in full, and we had a fun time, walking back to the hotel together. He told me he was leaving that evening, and I offered to help him pack. We got into his room, I helped him pack, we talked, traded socials, and, eventually, just out of the blue, I kissed him. I don't really know why, but it was nothing more than a chaste kiss, and I panicked and left.

The rest of the trip with my girlfriend was mostly us keeping to ourselves, and while we made up, there was definitely an atmosphere. The atmosphere just stayed. We broke up in October, for reasons unrelated directly to the vacation.

However, my issue is that from the vacation to when my gf and I broke up, R and I were dming each other. Objectively,it wasn't anything romantic or sexual, no nudes, nothing like that. We would just talk like we always did. We decided to try out dating in February of this year, and so far, its been great - he's genuinely a brilliant partner, we have far less conflicts, we sort things out quicker, and we generally seem to mesh much better than I did with my ex. But being with him has sort of taught me that what I valued him for when we were just talking is also what I mostly value him for now that we're dating - his good listening, his great sense of humour, the fact he just seems to get me. I could be overthinking things, but I can't shake this weird feeling that while I was with my ex I was somehow having all the trappings of another relationship whilst not indulging in the traditional markers of one. It just doesn't feel right to me. Am I the asshole?

2x01 Under Pressure is def one, I am a multishipper at heart, so I def ship Buddie (though Bucktommy is now my OTP); and it's just funny that What A Man was playing in that scene.

8x05 Masks. The whole Billy Boils of it all. The curse, Eddie and Tommy's reactions to Evan explaining the curse at the hospital (Tommy legit waited to see how Eddie was reacting before he himself reacted). Also Evan's speech at Billy's grave?? While the montage was happening?? And Evan looking at Tommy when he did???? Love love it all.

3x01-3x03 Kids Today, Sink or Swim, & The Searchers. The tsunami arc?? Also holds a special place in my heart. And yes I do cry every time I rewatch this arc.

3x14 The Taking of Dispatch 9-1-1. I haven't watched this one in a bit, but I do know I loved it when it first came out. The angst of it all.

7x01-7x04 Abandon Ships, Rock the Boat, Capsized, & Buck, Bothered, & Bewildered. I really love that we got to focus on Athena and Bobby by themselves for a bit. Also the angst and drama of it all when Norman and Lola??? I lived for it. Also because this is when Tommy gets reintroduced to us. And obviously the Bi Buck episode holds a special place in my heart.

And last all of the Begin episodes, I love to see the backstory of our favorite characters. That's it, that's why these are my favorite.

Hottest Take: I don't think I really have the hottest of takes. But one I def have a gripe with is the writing. The Bucktommy break up was horrendously written in ways I know others can explain better than I can. But also even in Bobby Begins they couldn't seem to keep their story straight?? By this I mean that this episode showed us the most of the dynamics between the firefighters when Bobby was first beginning. Specifically we see Tommy, Sal, Hen, and Chim be all buddy buddy with each other in the beginning of Bobby's episode. We even hear Hen describe themselves as an island of misfit toys. But then Hen's vibe when talking to Bobby after Sal was fired/transferred don't match what we see??? Granted it could be the whole getting along to get along thing while at work, but we see that Hen doesn't really go for that in her own begins episode.

Favorite Lone Start Character: I don't really like Lone Star all that much, but I will say the couple episodes I've watched I found myself starting to like Marjan.

Favorite Ship: I think it's very obviously BuckTommy.

Most Underrated Character(s): Ravi, Albert, and May. Please ABC I need them back on my screen!!!!

Most Underrated Ship: HenRen, would love to see more of them that isn't some sort of drama or angst. Like please I want to see them be a happy little family.

One Thing You Would Love to See: I need to see more shenanigans like we did in that one episode with Bobby, David, and Micheal in the episode with the plastic surgeon running out of his apartment. I thought we were getting that with Buck, Eddie, and Tommy but at last twas not meant to be.

Hey, thoughts anon here. Back again so soon, I know, I know.

I guess I should start off by replying to your last answer (specifically the first part). Thank you so much for that, firstly. I do write (I have my own OCs and I'm currently world-building) but I don't really show people my writing because, well. Now that I think of it, I don't really know why I don't show people. I just don't. And I don't plan to either, except if it's creative writing assignments from school, that is. I'm not opposed to participating in competitions either, but my teachers don't allow it because what I write and how I write it is rather, erm. Unconventional, let's say.

That said, I'm not very particularly talented at it, though I'd like to be.

And it is also at this point I wish to make like that one specific type of fic writers and say that English... is not my first language. Sort of. I'm trilingual, you see, and English was just ONE of the languages I was taught from a very young age, along with Hindi and Bengali. I am practiced in all three. I also learn German from school (it's been like what, 8 years?) and French on my own (although I started with French just this year). So you could say I know 4.5 languages. (At this point I feel strangely as though I'm bragging. I probably am a little bit.)

Anyway, languages are my passion, and I feel as though I could never learn enough of them or from them. I actually plan on pursuing Linguistics someday.

In other news, I'm over that girl! Completely. I guess I pulled a James Potter number on her and just fell in love with the idea of her, because of the mature way she talked and how she was so unbothered by everything around her. I realise now more than before that she did some pretty childish things too, because she's a kid, like me, and wants to be older than her age, like me. We'd never work out anyway. (Speaking of pulling James Potter numbers, I am now in dire need of my Regulus Black coded partner.)

Also, I have discovered that I'm actually pan and ace (as opposed to when I used to think I was bi) and am quite attached to both labels. The only problem is ninety percent of my picrews feature bi flags and badges so. Hehe, self-discovery I guess.

Lastly, Christmas was a drag. No, literally. My mother DRAGGED me by the hair, tied me up with our luggage and whisked the both of us to my grandmother's house for some 'family time' (which in my country means a stay of over ten days) wherein we all fought like cats and dogs, went out a lot, ate too much street food (which was hotter than the sixth circle hell btw) and promptly fell sick. Both my mom and my aunt puked at least twice, my grandmother shouted at them for being so reckless with their health while my uncle stood by and resigned himself to the fact that women will be women, and as for me, I wanted nothing more than to disappear off the face of this planet. But, Christmas wishes, in a surprising turn of events, do not come true, it seems.

Anyway, it was also around Christmas that my family (on my mother's side) discovered (by pure accident) that I had grown taller than all of them, and I was instantly labelled 'Lambhu Singh', much to my chagrin. This accursed term is MEANT to be a funny and endearing nickname for someone who is tall and lanky. (I am not thin, I am extremely mid-size and also hate my life, did I mention?) Your last post is funny bc just TODAY I watched that season finally. I’m literally 2 episodes into season 5 right now. As someone who just watched that for the first time (and hadn’t noticed it WAS the season finally when I started watching it) I was losing my goddamn MIND watching those episodes. Just constantly 😯😯😯. I began watching 911 when I started seeing posts circulating about Buck being bi. At the time I had no idea who he was other than the occasional gif set but it made me intrigued and I have been HOOKED. Literally trying to get through as many episodes as possible so I can watch the episodes live. Questions for you (since I have no one else to talk to about the show); when did you start watching? Have you had any predictions while watching the show that didn’t/ did come true? Like for me when I watched season 1 and Abby went to the fire department for the first time I SWORE up and down that her and Bobby were meant to be endgame (was clearly wrong lol). But also after Chris got stuck in the Tsunami I called it that something would happy to Harry later on (just a feeling that no one was safe lol, not even the kids). I’m just so curious to see what the fandom theories have been over time lol since I missed out on it!

Yeah, no, watching suspicion/survivors for the first time is WILD. Like, imma be honest and bit oversharing, I watched the show for the first time in a depressive episode, so I watched everything up to 5x10 in like, 6 days according to the posts I made on Tumblr about it, so I didn't realize theorize about anything, I was just hitting next episode like my life depended on it. But I didn't know anything about the show, like, at all, I had just watched 911 lone star in a weekend because it was on the tv and there were only like, 20 episodes of it out it at the time and a network in my country was just showing all of them on a loop, and I opened the Disney app fully intending to rewatch grey's anatomy, and 911 was the first show on my recommended to you list, and I had liked lone star enough, and was like sure why not. And I legit couldn't stop watching. All of this happened the week before 5x11 aired on the us, so 5x11 was the first episode I watched like "live" (the first episode I actually watched live was 5x16) but I watched it in the same week, I think I finished on a Tuesday? And the episode aired on Monday. I can't really give you any theories I have witnessed so far because they would be spoilers tho, but if you wanna come back once you catch up we can talk about some of the madness that goes around here. But I had the same thing happen to me, I didn't realize it was the season finale, and I didn't know anything about the show, so I had no idea what was happening, and I thought I had learned my lesson with the tsunami arc, because I watched 3x01 at like 3 am fully saying this is the last episode I will watch and then I'm gonna go to bed, and then the tsunami hit, and I was like well fuck and then Chris fell in the water and next thing I know is 5 am and Eddie is making me cry at the end there. But I saw the 13 and didn't realize the season only had 14 episodes and then everything kept happening. I seriously cannot imagine what it was like to be forced to wait a week between those 2 episodes it was SO CRAZY. When Eddie got shot I legit froze. Watching that for the first time not knowing it's coming is SOMETHING. I do remember thinking that they were gonna kill Shannon but I didn't expect to be right, I also remember clocking that Jason was Doug pretty fast. Something funny tho, I remember posting that meme that's like "I've had blank for 1 day and a half but if anything happened to him I'd kill everyone in this room and myself" with Buck and I waited until I had been watching for a day and a half, that means I posted it while watching the season 2 finale. I hit post and the truck blew up and I legit went like ????????? and that is still the most ironic thing that ever happened to me while posting about 911 kspskspkspakapkapa (here's the post, I actually came back to edit the tags because I was in shock lol) and I laugh every time I remember that lol but I'm glad you're enjoying the show, you can come back to talk to me about it any time!;

Death's Castle - Pride Headcanons

Since my beloved Jack did this with his versions of the PDP Amnesia characters, I definitely felt like I should join in! So this is basically going to be a masterpost of the characters' queer identities with some anecdotes on how and why I came to these conclusions.

(Note, the artist has since changed their handle to NoxAtraWendigo, which is... Unfortune, but I'm afraid I have to move on.)

One more thing, I am mainly listing specifics here. As far as I'm concerned the entire castle is some shade of queer, but unless I have a specific label for them I'm not putting it in the list. For example, some characters have displayed attraction to the same sex, but you may not see any specifications there because I simply haven't determined if they're also attracted to the opposite sex, or even in that case if they're bi or pan. This stuff's complicated, and I don't like putting things in boxes if it's not entirely necessary.

WARNING: There are spoilers for Death's Castle under the cut. It would have been too hard to talk about their identities without pointing to specific moments.

The Big Five

You know funny story this was never meant to be their official title, but Zoe picked up on Lullaby calling the primary Bros "The Big Four" so I guess that's what I'm going with now.

Stephano - Bisexual

This one isn't really a surprise to anyone who's been reading my posts or the fic itself, but Stephano is very much a bisexual man. This one was just a bit of lifting from the videos, despite how much he insists he's straight and the anecdotes of dating women he undeniably displays attraction to the same sex. The way I personally write it is that he has an easier time flirting with and finding initial attraction to women, but falls a lot harder for men.

Jennifer - Biromantic Asexual

While normally I think of specifics as I go, Jennifer was a case where I actually knew from the start what I wanted her sexuality to be. When I began conceptualizing her story, I knew I wanted her to be asexual but not aromantic for a few reasons.

At the time and even still today, a lot of our aro and ace representation was synonymous with each other despite them being separate identities. So even for just a fanfic, I wanted to make characters that showed more of the nuance of asexuality and aromanticism.

I wanted to explore her love for Pewdie through the lens of asexuality. It seems a lot of allo people base their initial feelings off sexual attraction, so what does such an intense love entail if sexual attraction isn't involved?

Jennifer is fat and struggles with her weight, and I'm sorry to point this out but I feel like a lot of body positivity boils down to assuring people (mostly women) that they're still sexually attractive. But what if being seen that way is almost as repulsive as being "ugly?" I wanted to write her story to focus on body positivity and beauty in a way removed from sex.

Honestly, Jennifer's story ended up being very personal. When I started Death's Castle I was under the impression I was simply a straight ally. By the time I got to her backstory though, I had realized I was asexual myself, but had struggled to realize it since my experience didn't conform to the usual stereotype. As such, there was a lot of catharsis writing Morning Glory, which is probably why her section is the longest here oops.

Mr. Chair - Grayromantic Homosexual

While Jennifer was thoroughly planned out, Mr. Chair's identity was kind've a happy accident. I sort of knew he was gay, but over time I realized that a lot of his writing lined up with an arospec experience. Mr. Chair is very unfamiliar with romantic love and what it feels like, and while he definitely feels something for Skully, it's never portrayed as particularly intense. As such, I came to the realization that he's definitely under the grayromantic umbrella. He experiences romantic feelings infrequently and perhaps not as strongly as others do.

Piggeh - Panromantic Asexual

Yeah, I made the character that did nothing but talk about sex ace. Deal with it. In seriousness, again, a lot of this was kinda just something that happened and honestly feels more on the lines of allegory than a straightforward example, but I think it's fine to make official. While Piggeh definitely enjoys sex, he isn't really sexually attracted to anybody. In fact, he finds most people (including himself) physically unappealing. Despite this, he does display romantic attraction, showing that appearance and gender don't really factor in for him when it comes to that. Again, ended up kinda cathartic in hindsight.

Mayo - Androsexual Agender (He/They)

This was a case where the character kinda just evolved as I wrote them, which you know what is fitting for a teenager growing and discovering their identity. He started as a boy, but as time went on I started to realize something wasn't cis about this kid. I played with a few ideas before I settled on him being agender. In-story, he first started to realize he may not be cis in Geode when Martin taught him that people can feel being a specific gender, inadvertently revealing that he didn't. This culminated in Peter's Gate where they realized that they felt uncomfortable being seen as a boy or a girl. For now he only uses he/him pronouns, but I'm hoping to start incorporating the they/them pronouns in future chapters.

I do see him being attracted exclusively to men or masc-leaning identities, hence androsexual. This has been established through him mentioning wanting a boyfriend in Binding Ties, and the implications that he had a bit of a crush on Stephano when he was a little kid. Unfortunately, not many romantic options since the other teenagers even remotely around their age in the castle are too old for them.

Other Bros

Martin - Genderfluid (All Pronouns)

Development wise this is a long story that is almost too hard to recall if I'm honest, but I knew pretty early on I wanted Martin to be genderfluid if just to display some of the world building. As readers of the fic will know, Martin was born female but basically swapped bodies with Sammy Sue in order for her to live as a woman and for him to start over from his previous life as "Susanna." Martin now presents masc, but they still identify as both genders, or sometimes none at all.

Also, quick aside. I kinda like that I have a genderfluid character that's over 40. It feels like less binary identities like that are often limited to teen or 20-something characters. So she's a good first step for my future projects.

Torchy - Transgender (He/Him)

I've had two headcanon voices for Torchy, and both are trans men, so I was just like fuck it, let's make him trans. That sounds fun. There really wasn't much thought in this decision.

Skully - Intersex (He/Him)

I couldn't decide if he was cis or trans, so I decided on both and neither. To be a little more serious, there isn't a whole lot of deep reasoning for this, I just thought it would be cool to have at least one intersex person in the castle and Skully was standing right there.

Also him being intersex has nothing to do with his ability to mimic voices. That's just a thing he can do.

Pipé - Transgender (She/Her)

This is a long story involving me wanting to do this from the beginning, a now ex-friend using a weird excuse to talk me out of it, and then me having to cram it back in before it was too late, but yeah. Pipé is a trans woman!

Bluey - Lesbian

There was a time where I might have said she was bi but you know what no this girl is gay as hell. Definitely has a thing for Jennifer.

Lullaby and Lisa - Sapphic

"Scout why didn't you just say lesbians?" Because that doesn't really convey the whole story tbh. Lisa is definitely a lesbian, but Lullaby I actually see being specifically gynesexual, which is the attraction to femininity and doesn't necessarily have to be gender specific. Either way though they're in a sapphic relationship.

Save Kitty Cat - Bisexual

Is this mostly because of his blue and purple color palette? Yes. But I have always seen him as being attracted to both genders.

Jesus - Transgender (He/Him)

Honestly this was mainly a "because it's funny" decision. It was inspired by a scientific thing that basically meant that since the biblical Jesus was born from only Mary without any male dna in the equation he would have logically had to have been born female. Thus, trans Jesus.

Disclaimer, Death's Castle Jesus is not actually the Jesus. He just named himself that because he also thought it would be funny.

Barrels

Red Chair, Gonzales, and Sammy Sue - Polyamorous

Sammy's getting her own section, but like Lisa and Lullaby it felt more efficient to put them together rather than doing three separate entries for the same relationship. But yeah, as many readers are aware, these three are in a polycule. Like many things, this was an idea I lifted from the now deleted fanfic Hyperthymesia. Their relationship has been one of my favorite things to write in Death's Castle, as their more stable and loving relationship provides an interesting contrast against the dysfunctional Bros, especially now that things have started to shift in both groups. Also it's interesting to write just how complicated such a relationship can get in a tumultuous setting like Death's Castle.

Sammy Sue - Transgender (She/Her)

And of course, another idea borrowed from Hyperthymesia, Sammy Sue is a trans woman. She was my first real experience writing a trans character, so she definitely has a strong place in my heart. As mentioned under Martin's section, she was born male but swapped objects with Martin and gained his female body.

Broom - Lesbian

Unfortunately I haven't been able to show this off much, but I definitely see Broom as a lesbian. I intended for her to have a little something something with Jennifer in Morning Glory, but I was told they had more of a sisters vibe, so I decided not to push it there. I have plans to establish her identity though, don't worry.

Bunny - Aroace

This is a bit on the subtler side in my writing, but Bunny was always meant to be aroace. She never shows any interest in having a romantic relationship and only seems interested in sex for the purpose of reproduction, given that she had kits before being revived in the castle. I thought it would make her a fun contrast compared to all the rampantly horny swines she lives with.

Berta - Pansexual

Again, haven't been able to display this much given her only shown attraction is to Piggeh, but girl's pan. Gender doesn't matter to her, just that special something that apparently Piggeh had.

Gandalf and Rudolph - Polyamorous

Gandalf and Rudolph are in an open relationship. They're committed to each other, but have other relations on the side. I want to figure out a way to actually confirm this in Death's Castle, but it's hard since the Filthy Pig group doesn't really show up that often and when they do the pig trio are often in the background.

Adolf - Aromantic Bisexual

Keeping it simple over here. Adolf ain't much for romantic stuff, but still enjoys a good time with any person.

Bro - Bisexual

Bruno here loves both men and women. He's slept with Piggeh in the past, and previously dated Sammy Sue, which ended... Pretty poorly. He's also shown an attraction to Martin, which actually seems to be returned if their interaction in Geode is any indication.

Miscellaneous Thoughts

I don't see Bengt being picky about gender, but given he's more interested in cutting people up than fucking them he's probably never put a label on it himself.

I know the Barrel King is into men, but the dude has yet to physically appear so I kinda can't go into it.

During a conversation with Jack, specifically about Tom Hardy's "Paint That Lady" he suggested that Peter could also be Asexual. That would be fun, but I'm not sure about it since some of his dialogue in Morning Glory kinda suggests that he isn't.

Stephano isn't ace, but I have joked with my friends that making him ace would have been a mercy given his... Situation, regarding Janus. But no I want him to suffer.

I've considered that Pipé could be aromantic, but a lot of that also boils down to me not really having a strong ship for her, so I don't feel comfortable making her officially aro yet.

Legitimately just curious, why is Nia trans? (I already know she's bi)

so like, Officially she's not.

but her arc in xenoblade 2 is the single most trans thing i can think of in a game that isn't LITERALLY about a trans person.

xb2 spoilers i guess but i don't respect xb2 as a whole to censor it beyond this but. with the bathhouse scene, i didn't realize it was about her core crystal. i thought it was her actually being trans and going "please don't out me until i'm comfortable with that" but no it wasn't that.

she still ended up being closeted and hiding who she "really was" and it's extremely telling how she went from wearing a big baggy set of clothes that totally cover her (such as, idk, a dysphoria hoodie!) to something far more revealing (which i have issues with that but that's just a general xb2 "why did saito have to make all the main female blades in the party Like That" critique) like...a fair amount of trans people also tend to do. also the whole "This is who I really am!" bit, too, feels trans as hell like someone coming out as trans to people.

one can argue that nia being forced to become a flesh eater in and of itself strengthens that - forced to go through something that left her body permanently altered against her wishes. kinda like what puberty does!

also her core is blue and pink and light reflecting off it can make it white which i don't think was intentional trans flag imagery (given all flesh eaters have that and the pink is more meant to be red, as seen by jin) but also it's a very funny coincidence.

so that's why i think of nia as a great trans character even if, by all accounts, she's cis. but god, you couldn't make a more trans-coded character without just making them trans.

(the presence of juniper and A in xb3 and its DLC also makes me think that nia's arc being so very trans coded wasn't accidental...)

Usually nothing in particular, just whatever background noise is happening at the place I'm in. I sometimes make playlists for my fics, usually AUs, but I tend to listen to those when I'm thinking about ideas, not actually writing

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

I wrote a lot of words this year, so I can't say for certain, but here are some that come to mind.

sappy - from you and me, forevermore

 “You love my annoying habit of socks that don’t make it in the hamper or never remembering to add something to the grocery list when I finish it? And how sometimes I overreact or get worked up over little things?” “Yes.” “Carlos—” Carlos’ hand is on his cheek, unwilling to let him look away. “Because my life was so lonely and quiet and, and hollow before I met you,” he says, as if TK didn’t already know. As if he didn’t courageously say it in front of everyone they know today. “So everything about you that is real and full of character and makes this place a home is the best thing I could’ve asked for.”

funny - from meet you after dark

“Baby, teeth,” he hisses quietly, frantically looking around to make sure no one’s paying attention to them. Carlos frowns way too adorably for the situation. “Huh?” TK watches as he runs his tongue over them, his eyes instantly widening. His head ducks as he mumbles through his mostly closed lips, “Oh. How do I—” “Just,” TK gestures at his mouth, “put ‘em back.” “I don’t know how,” he says desperately. “Oh my god,” TK mutters, stepping closer. He can’t exactly do it for Carlos, but still he reaches for his mouth, poking one of the sharp fangs. “You need to relax your jaw.” “I’m trying,” he mumbles around TK’s finger before swatting him away. “TK, get your hands out of my mouth. We’re in public.” “Oh, and showing your fangs is a better option?” TK huffs, retracting his hand. Carlos’ own hand comes up to cover his mouth as he moves his jaw around. “They won’t go back up. Why are they out?” “You’re focusing too much.” “Well, how do I focus less?” TK hears a throat clearing behind him and he scrambles away as if he’s been burnt.

“Maybe I find it humiliating for the head chef at L’Etoile to be the one to point out your pattern to me. I’m supposed to look professional to these people and now they see me as your… boy toy of the year.” “Excuse me?” Carlos whips around, rising to his feet as well so they're standing on opposite sides of the bed in a stalemate. “Is that what this is? I’m just another one on your list? You get your fill with whoever comes through that house?” “We never said we were anything more than that.” “I thought I at least meant something to you, TK,” he admits, wishing that the first time doing so was in any other context. “I thought I did, too,” TK says with an unwilling acceptance, nodding once as his tongue points at the corner of his mouth. “That was before I knew you were so humiliated to be seen with me.”

“Baby,” TK cries out, his hand fumbling to hold onto Carlos, but he’s too far away and his arm falls back down to the wooden surface. As if Carlos’ mouth weren’t enough, his fingers brush across TK’s ass with a featherlight touch before they press his own release back into TK. “Fuck, Carlos. You—” A broken moan escapes his throat as Carlos presses up against his prostate, rubbing back and forth over that spot as TK writhes on his back. He searches for something to clench his fist around as his hips arch farther off the table and his shoulders press down. His arm shoots out to the side to grip the edge of the table and it sends something scattering to the floor. TK can’t think of what it could possibly be. He can’t even think of his name, his mind only capable of Carlos, Carlos, Carlos.

The signature Heather Gwen MK and Julia for the ask game?

Love getting Heather twice, people know what I'm about.

Gwen:

Sexuality Headcanon: Bi! Gender Headcanon: I can see her being a demigirl tbh A ship I have with said character: Well. Gweather again. A BROTP I have with said character: Hear me out,, her and Alejandro. Something so funny about everyone (not Sierra but, y'know, Cody obsession) having a strong reaction to him (either attraction, distrust, or contempt after being betrayed) and she just never acknowledges him. I want them to be in a room together just to see what happens. A NOTP I have with said character: Her and Cody. She is not the ramona flowers to ur scott pilgrim. A random headcanon: Y'know those girls who drink, like, 50 monsters a week? Yeah. General Opinion over said character: She's kinda funny in canon but they really didn't know what to do with her. The characterization feels so inconsistent with her, it's hard not to be annoyed. Love the version of her in early TDI— where she was still very mean and misanthropic but still got along with some others, like Leshawna— the most. I adore the base they gave us and the version of her that exists in just my head is insane.

Also she was my childhood fav because kid me always chose the goth girl.

MK:

Sexuality Headcanon: Lesbiannnn Gender Headcanon: Nonbinary, but in an apathetic sort of way. She's just there, y'know? A ship I have with said character: Look at My url. You know. A BROTP I have with said character: Emma and MK in my head is just Emma consistently missing the obvious signs that MK is fucking with her because sometimes MK happens to fuck with her in a way that works out in her favor. A NOTP I have with said character: I don't really think I have any? There are ships I might not get but none I'd go so far to label notp. A random headcanon: Idc what that one TD flash game gave her for a swimsuit, in my head she wears either a one-piece with swim trunks over or a wetsuit General Opinion over said character: God I wish she talked to more people in canon. She's funny and I like mkulia but I also treasure the snippets of her personality we got outside of it and wish there were more of them.

Julia:

Sexuality Headcanon: Came out as bi for attention. She's also bisexual but that's not why she did it. Gender Headcanon: cis woman A ship I have with said character: See MK's answer A BROTP I have with said character: Her and Damien, 100%. It is the healthiest relationship she has (outside of MK) and the most toxic relationship he has. They will never stop talking to each other. No one outside of their friendship understands it, and they barely do either. A NOTP I have with said character: Her and Wayne. Wayne reads as Ace/Aro for me but even outside of that, I just never liked it. Feels like it happened just bc Bowie was (is?) her rival and he dated Raj A random headcanon: I made a post about this but, to me, her parents are definitely divorced and her mom's been through, like, 5 marriages. Her mom and dad opened the bakery when they were together and now they have to tolerate each other for the sake of the business. General Opinion over said character: I said I loved mean girls and I meant it. She is duplicitous and underhanded and I hope she never gets better.

On the topic of nfcv and its inconsistent; i tend to feel im harsher on nfcv and it's usage of representation since i dont tend to pay much attention to it ( It is good to let ppl see themselves on screen and its important to not fall into harmful sterotypes but it wont make or break a show for me unless its really bad). And castlevania has multiple historical/mythological inconsistencies (Matthias Corvinus rolling in his grave) and could have better representation ofc (the only poc main character i can think of is Ortega the were-lion antagonist from Legacy of Darkness the obscure n64 game). But you know? Cv's half goofy tone from it's origins as a monster smash makes it work w that, plus it's not the main focus. Meanwhile a huge selling point for nfcv has been it's ""gritty realism"" and ""seriousness"", and it's been praised to hell and back for it's "representation", when said rep isn't really good. So, i can be fine w SotN using a funny n completely historically innacurate mummy boss or having an skeleton serpent named Qetzacoatl (even if you can debate how those stereotypes can be harmful like egyptologists having to debunk the mummy curse myths), but the whole Sekhmet catgirl n aztec Orlox parts just makes me roll my eyes bc it will be blindly praised. I fear to be hypocritical here so that's my argument, and apologize for rambling in your inbox i swear this was shorter in my mind-

I use this logic for Isaac lol. Yes, he relies on old and potentially offensive gay stereotypes, such as being in-your-face sexual, kinky in a creepy way, and even effectively molesting Trevor in the stabbing scene with his little kiss. And he's the villain contrasted with the more masculine hero. And he dies in the end. Yeah.

But aside from the fact that the game series overall is old-ish so outdated writing is to be at least expected, I don't get the feeling that this is meant to be "representation". And I'm certainly not meant to ohhh and ahhh at it. It is what it is, you know? The story says "here's the antagonist, he's very fruity", and you decide how to take it.

NFCV wants to be praised, and it is praised, for representation, for adding POC and gay people and cultures from all over the world, and it does so in a far less goofy setting that forces me to apply real-life logic to it. It also began in 2017, definitely at a time where writers were asked to pay attention to what the hell they're writing.

CV as a series was born as a love letter to Hammer horror movies, so it's a mishmash of monsters without rhyme or reason. NFCV wants to have a serious, real-adjacent world building, so that's why I ask "why is a Hungarian vampire worshipping an ancient Egyptian sun god"? Why are there Japanese people in Europe about a century before Europeans contacted Japan? Why is your idea of bi representation a threesome turning into rape?

So yes, I do believe that the show, in its arrogance, needs to be put at a higher standard than games written between the 80s and the 2000s. Not that they're exempt from criticism, ofc, I will always complain about stuff like the fridged women. Just... The games don't expect an applause for what they did.
