I lately re-watched RTTE with my sister and it really re-ignited our spark for HTTYD again ✨️

RTTE is a lot better than I had remembered! Though understandably also has some flaws. Sometimes, the re-used models and new character designs take me out a bit.

I think it'd be really cool to re-design some characters for a "what if" scenario! c: For example:

1. Minden & the Wingmaidens Minden was plot-centric in one episode, I think she deserved better than the default template (for those that don't remember: She kissed Snotlout :D)! I also feel like the Wingmaidens were introduced poorly and that impacted how I viewed them as a whole.

3. Garff in a couple of months he grew into a fully adult-sized Death Song (which doesn't seem realistic) and I'd love to explore what a child Death Song could look like!

2 Gruffnut I believe that he was in three episodes, and It's jarring that he's a copy of paste of Tuffnut. I feel like I wouldn't dislike him if he had a cool unique Thorston design.

Speaking of Thorston designs: Remember in Buffalord soilder where Ruff and Tuff describe their mom from a random shape? I think it could be a cool challenge to design her based on the shape-language the card showed.

4. Dragon Hunters / other BG characters I get that they tried to re-use models belonging to the same locations but it gets awkward when the same man interacts with himself ... :^)

5. Teenage Gothi I'd love to see how one could age her down... without any wrinkles! :D

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

in germany, chris evan‘s roles (including steve) are mostly voiced by dennis schmidt-foß, but as johnny storm he‘s voiced by benedikt weber, and it made for a really cool moment during dp&w. bc wade’s super convinced that he‘s steve, but all the german people who watch the german dub of marvel movies religiously are already like huh??? bc that‘s NOT steve rogers‘ voice, and then when it’s revealed that he‘s actually johnny, wade‘s like "ah yeah, i should’ve known from the voice". and idk, it’s not hilarious or anything, but it just made me soo happy that they used wade‘s 4th wall breaks differently in different languages. just felt the need to share this

It fits well with her being good at mimicry, you know. Talking and imitating and singing with her beloved birds 💜

from what I infer from some of his dialogue, my guess is that while lucanis hasn't had a proper relationship before he has had one night stands and short term flings. and -- listen, I know he's a dick and a menace and probably a hopeless case but please do still spare illario dellamorte a moment of your thoughts and pity for the role of incredulous yet intrepid wing man that he's all but certainly had to play on several occasions for that to happen. there are 100% people out there who were trying SO fucking hard to get no strings attached laid by this stupidly hot emotionally unavailable mysterious stranger who won't be in town for long without lucanis ever realizing it. people who would have remained tragically unlaid if illario weren't there to clue him in.

I'm just imagining Illario staring in pure dismay and disbelief at his dumbass of a cousin failing to pick up what someone isn't just putting down but scattering all over the floor like glittery confetti burning with a magnesium flame brightness to spell out 'SIR PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RAIL ME THIS IS AN OFFICIAL ENTHUSIASTIC INVITATION TO MY BED' and having to push him out the door after them like 'maker's breath sometimes i don't understand how you have the wits to grip the right end of a knife, lucanis, they were throwing themselves at you and you just stared at them in mild puzzlement until they gave up and went away go fucking GET THEM for the sake of my sanity if nothing else!!!'
