Consistently shocked by the idea that people think Bradley Rooster Bradshaw is chill and laid back. He’s actually shockingly unchill. He is the opposite of chill. He did not inherent any of his parents chillness. He’s a loser who’s too invested in everything.

Like ya hi I’m Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw and I cut off my remaining family, surrogate father, and support system for 15 years cuz he pulled my naval academy papers because he didn’t want me to die like my biological father and because my mother wanted me to be free of the navy’s confinements and to exist outside of a system that physically uses me for their own power and political gains— gains I will never experience and feel for myself. A system that sees me as no more than a number, a soldier, something easily replaceable, as a body to be sacrificed in a war that i did not start nor will i finish.

“Bradley's chill.” No he’s not. He’s a beast. He’s a 30 something year old man whose entire purpose revolves around holding a grudge and proving his surrogate father wrong. This beast who literally said this to his surrogate father— "No wife. No kids. Nobody to mourn when you burn in." Beastly. Ghastly thing to say. 15 years and he still hates the guy who's been there for him since day one. He’s a guy who refuses to even begin to understand where Mav was coming from or to even think of what his mother wanted. He’s evil. And I love him.

I love his big ol’ Bambi eyes… he’s evil and fucked up and he’s not chill. Yes he wears jorts and tropical shirts, but that just means he’s gay and a fucking liar. Common misconception actually! The votes take literal DAYS to count, sometimes even longer and when I posted what I assume you are referring to (my Red Mirage post) votes were (still are) being counted

Last time, we saw the same thing. Bunch of votes for the right on the last day to send in votes (when they START counting, iirc) but it will take a while for everyone’s vote to be counted

Idk if you’re a doomerist (ie: just assuming that because the first chunks of votes were red that Trump won) or if you’re a Trumpie or are unaware of how the election works or wtv and, honestly, I don’t really care. We stay positive in this house. We wait until the final count

We will not let a “Stop The Count” happen again (unless trump is suddenly a Count of something /j) Every (legitimate) vote must be counted. Everyone who wanted a say and got to put their vote in should get to have their words listened to

Hullo to my fellow fandom creators.

How you guys doing? Good? Good.

I just wanted to drop you a little note to say I hope you’re all having fun out here. Because fun is what it’s all about, right? Fun and excitement and hobbies and interests and all that good stuff!

While I’ve been wandering about in my little corner here at tumblr dot com, I gotta tell you, it can be so easy to get discouraged sometimes. Like SO easy. And I dunno folks, I guess I just wanted to remind you (and me!) that when we create stuff for our fandoms, it’s for fun! Because we love it! Because we love making it! We love sharing it! We love the source material and the characters and the world-building and all that other neat stuff!

Sometimes we all need a little reminder, I find. Because sometimes people don’t like what we’re making. Sometimes they’ll be rude or complain and make demands about how fandom "cOnTeNt” (yuck) should be made (double yuck) and act kind of entitled about it. And idk, that gets kind of disheartening. Especially when you’re pouring all your heart and soul into what you’re making, simply for the love of it.

So! Yeah I just wanted to check in with you folks because I’m seeing a lot of that weird entitlement in various fandoms lately, and from one creator to another, I wanted to just say -if I may wax poetic for a moment here- nuts to those people. Nuts to ‘em. NUTS, I TELL YOU.

Not everyone is going to like the stuff you make, and that's okay. The important thing is to remember that their opinions have nothing to do with you or me or anyone else making art or fics or edits or whatever our little hearts desire. Just because what you're making doesn't tick someone else's personal boxes doesn't mean that what you're making is wrong or bad!

If people want specific stuff in fandom, they can make it. If they don’t like what we’re making, they can move on - that's fine. If they want to publicly whine about it and try to make it everyone else's problem, that's their baggage and we don't have to take any of that on board. It’s no reflection on you if someone wants to demand that their own specific tastes be met, rather than actually taking part in the community in a positive way. Because we’re here for fun, aren’t we.

Like, I agree it was definitely more complicated than good brother/bad brother dynamic, but MAN, for a character we know next to nothing about, some of you are real dedicated to extrapolating the absolute worst.

the fun part about being in fandoms with inconsistent characterizations, whether that inconsistency is caused by the fandom being very niche or being so vague that there is a lot of character ambiguity (or simply that characters are aggressively misunderstood), is that i get to come across a song or a quote or something and be like “wow this is so Character A-coded but ONLY in this one specific fic i read.” i just think that’s kinda neat

i think the early stages of izzy and stede’s relationship is sorta an overlooked area for analysis and shenanigans

for example izzy would be a fairly quiet person in his downtime— really can’t imagine him enjoying small talk— but i think stede has a hard time sitting in silence, because he associates it with mary’s annoyance with him (ironically bc i think she too is someone who enjoys silence and stede unknowingly would her rob her of that) so when they’re in a room together without ed stede automatically starts talking to izzy like he would ed and sometimes this is ok bc i do think they would have some shared interests (i like to think that with more access to books izzy would actually really like reading and stede is thrilled to finally have someone to discuss literature with) but a lot of times izzy is just letting stede talk at him (which he enjoys) and stede thinks he’s being ignored

i just think their communication styles are vastly different, which is made even harder by the fact that stede is used to communicating everything to ed vs izzy who’s used to just intrinsically being understood/ understanding ed

stede would also have a hard time recognizing when izzy is annoyed with him in their usual playful way vs actually upset with him which would lead to overstepping (the pitfall of a bitch4bitch relationship) but also izzy bottling things up and expecting stede to just understand how he fucked up

unfortunately stede is also someone who has a very hard time understanding things from a different perspective so he would accidentally overstep by forcing izzy to do certain things bc in his mind he’s helping but izzy sees it as stede trying to change him

trying to practice restraint by not speaking about it but taeyong’s situation specifically has gotten so out of hand seeing the vilest shit being alleged between him and his sister and the swarm of death threats sent directly to him and his family after a random instagram story from half a year ago of a now confirmed censored single volume of a popular anime. extrapolating from a photo he took of some fucking shoes he was gifted saying hes read and promoted eleven volumes of uncensored whatever without fact checking anything/going off hearsay is so insane? and trying to lump all 4/5 idols in the same way without any nuance or even care for victims of these abuses is just irresponsible. i’m not here to justify or speak on the contents of the original anime itself because i haven’t read it but the way misinformation and crazy uncritical mob behavior functions on stan twitter/tumblr without any critical thinking is disgusting and also makes the content of what’s being criticized completely frivolous. it’s disgusting!

Feel like we’re too focused on our favourite ships and/ or the characters we have a crush on to realize that xo kitty isn’t just about love and what ship’s endgame, it’s about kitty learning about her background and discovering herself.

Kitty herself is trying to be her own individual and have her own journey/ adventure (she’s says so herself).

I think that’s why people think Kitty being bi is “random” (it really isn’t but if you wanna be dense that’s your issue). Too focused on who Kitty ends up with and not who she ends up as.

I also think this effects how people look at kitty as “just some white girl koreaboo looking for cute boys in Korea” and think she’s annoying cuz she’s not your perfect self insert (she’s a teenage girl she isn’t supposed to be).
