hello llama
i have been thinking and headcanoning about vampire bad sanses lately, so i was curious if you have any thoughts about or interest in vampires of the nightmare and crew variety? (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
"do i have interest in vampires", he asks
ok, i will share my extensive vampire brainrot. but in return..... you have to write that vampire fic.... oooOOooO look into my eyes you know you want to write it ooOoOooo 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I very much like the idea of Nightmare's castle being Castlevania-style. Lots of spooky architecture, lots of ancient magical passages that haven't been seen in centuries.
Horror can be summed up in one word. Bloodlust. There's a constant hunger inside him he can't ever seem to fill, driving him almost to the point of madness. He is more beast than man. When he smells or tastes blood, he loses control of himself, becoming little more than a starving wild animal - his capability for slaughter is limited only by his appetite. So unless Nightmare requires it, he generally abstains from blood. He doesn't like losing himself so entirely.
Something about you makes him forget his hunger. Is it your voice? Your scent? He has no idea, but oh, it feels good to feel whole. When you're around it's as if he'll never be hungry again... he follows you like a dog, grinning intensely every time you look at him. This is one hound that can't be shaken.
Despite his 'condition', he finds a lot of solace in cooking. Nothing will give him the same drug-like rush as blood but human food is nonetheless warm and filling and distracts him momentarily from the emptiness. He enjoys the process of making it, too, doing something with his hands. Let him cook for you, please? Watching you eat brings him vicarious joy.
Dust's backstory is one of legend. Something resembling a story can be spun from the loose whispers. A vampire invaded his peaceful isolated village hundreds of years ago, intending to turn the helpless populace into enslaved vampires. Dust, the first to be bitten, turned and slaughtered them all himself - and despite being a vampire for barely a week, the equivalent of a stumbling newborn, he killed the centuries-old invading vampire in single combat.
No one's quite sure why he's joined Nightmare. Perhaps Nightmare was keen to take this uniquely violent creature under his wing, and Dust just didn't really care where the wind took him. Or perhaps he has some other motive, hidden beneath that silent face. Who knows.
... Dust might be quiet, but it's obvious he's fixated on you. Which is a big deal. This is a creature who hasn't mustered a second thought for anything but blood for decades; but somehow, you've excited him. He's very clearly interested in you, silently watching your every move, listening intently to every word you say. Too bad he's not much for conversation.
Killer's backstory, on the other hand, is shrouded entirely in mystery. No one knows where he came from, who he is, or what he's done. He simply appeared one day - right within the coveted inner circle of Nightmare himself. He's the Night King's most trusted weapon, and the closest thing he has to a friend.
Killer seems very clear about what he wants. He thinks you're adorable, and he says you'd make such a pretty vampire. He talks (at length) about how much he wants to bite you, and how if it were up to him you'd already be one of them. A lot of his flirting involves calling you things like sweet treat and honeyblood. However... despite all the taunting, all the talk of seeing you as food, Killer is the one in the castle who treats you with the most respect. The others seem to see you as an object, a cute toy, something to squish and own. Killer talks to you like you're a real person. You can't help but like him for it.
Nightmare's inferiority complex has driven him to declare himself the king of the vampires. No one contests - Nightmare is royalty by blood, and vampires place a lot of emphasis on blood. But even if he wasn't, Nightmare frequently murders those who won't bend the knee. Plenty of powerful vampires have fallen embarrassingly fast at his hand.
... Nightmare's goal is to make you agree to be his spouse. A pretty little human partner would be excellent for his image. It would not only demonstrate his incredible self control as such an ancient vampire (not to mention his control over his warriors), but it would also show that his power is so great he doesn't need to strike a political marriage with another powerful vampire. It might also convince some of the pesky rebellious human groups to settle down.
His pride means that he won't force you. Not yet, at least. He likes to think he can seduce you. He's a royal vampire, after all, and you're just a simple human - isn't it only a matter of time?
... But it seems like, as time goes on... he's the one falling.
#llamagines#whatever you do don't think about you accidentally cutting your finger and triggering horror's bloodlust#don't think about the other vampires rushing in and trying to restrain him in a panic. but even the three of them can't hold him back#don't picture him pinning you with his jaws wide open...#then don't imagine him freezing. tears beginning to fall out of his sockets as he draws you into his arms#dont think about him pressing his teeth against your throat but not biting#almost as if he wants to feel your pulse so he knows youre alive and he hasnt hurt you without realising#don't think about how he seems just as confused and scared as you are#ok thank you for not thinking abt that#bad sanses#vampire bad sanses

Platonic Yandere Trevor finding out that he isn't the last Belmont, and that his younger sister escaped or was spared because she was a iligitamate child of the family and not publicly known to be a Belmont and the church assumed she was just a servant of the house
A/N: It would be great if Trevor was not to be the sole Belmont left! Not that he can’t handle the responsibility, because he does step up in the end, but because it would be much easier to carry on a legacy when there’s more than one person left to tell your story.
Edit: Here's what I think about his sister's age
Edit 2: Here's why her age makes it all the more horrifying.
Platonic! Yandere! Trevor Belmont Finding Out He Has a Long-Lost Little Sister:
The moment Trevor finds out about her, be it from unearthed family records in the Belmont hold, or from growing gossip in town, he sets out to find her and bring her home. Even if it turns out not to be true, he can’t let her continue to live life on her own, she’s too much of a target with the Belmont Family crest on her back.
He is both angered yet relieved when he finally meets her and discovers she’s truly his half-sister. Trevor feels betrayed that one of his parents strayed beyond their marriage, but he also feels thankful for their infidelity, as it provided his half-sister the cover she needed to escape slaughter alongside the rest of his family.
It doesn’t matter if she’s in a relationship or if she’s found a new family for herself, he whisks her away back to his life, cutting off any other bonds she may have forged for herself. After all, those people didn’t matter. They were simply placeholders, keeping her safe until he could dutifully come along to take her back to the life she was always destined to live.
If he’s traveling with Sypha at the moment she better welcome his half-sister with open arms and support Trevor’s decision to take her back with them. Trevor makes it clear to Sypha, that should push come to shove, he’ll choose his half-sister over her. Sypha was the one who encouraged him to fulfill his family’s destiny in the first place. She should know very well Trevor would put his last remaining blood relative first.
Regardless of where he and Sypha are, Trevor elects to drop everything and head back to the ancestral Belmont hold. Trevor needs to show his half-sister all that’s stored there. He needs her to remember who she is.
On the journey back, he teaches her some basic combat, mainly self-defense. One part of him doesn't want his sister to join in the physical fights ever, but another part of him knows deep down it’s inevitable. All the Belmonts were fighters in one way or another, even if that wasn’t their main skill set. Being a part of his family meant no one could afford to be a pacifist. He knows too well: if you’re a Belmont, trouble’s bound to find you eventually, especially when you aren’t looking for it.
If his half-sister appears to have an affinity for it, he might even consider letting Sypha teach her some Speaker magic. Trevor knows how capable Sypha is of taking care of herself during a battle, and he’d very much like that same reassurance for his little sister as well.
If Trevor and Sypha have already defeated Death and are residing within Dracula’s castle, Trevor journeys to retrieve his sibling alone, before bringing them back to the former ruins of the Belmont hold, what is now the beginnings of Village Belmont. He does his best not to sound too proud when he tells his little sister the village name.
Despite the warm welcome his little sister receives, Trevor refuses to let her speak to anyone else or hang out with villagers her age without his supervision. Even though these are the people he fought alongside to stop Death and his vampire generals, Trevor tells his little sister not to trust them.
Trevor’s paranoia worries Sypha, Alucard, and Greta, who truly just want to be friends with his younger sister. At the same time, they do have some degree of understanding of why Trevor would want to be as watchful as he is.
Sypha tries to bring it up but gets shut down. Having their future children to think about, she decides to let the matter go, knowing her focus is needed on her baby right now.
Greta tries to offer to teach Trevor’s sister some basic fighting techniques but that suggestion is quickly squashed by Trevor who makes a show of dominance. He challenges Greta to a quick fight and wins of course. But not before making it clear that he had more than one opportunity to finish her off for good if he wished. Greta keeps her distance after that, and she advises her people to do the same.
Alucard accompanies Trevor and his younger half-sister on every tour of the Belmont hold, making the occasional snide comment about Trevor’s family dedicating themselves to the eradication of his kind. Seeing how uncomfortable the tension makes his little sister, Trevor lashes out at Alucard, the two of them causing a fair amount of property damage. The two of them only stop when Trevor’s sister rushes between them, crying, begging them to please stop hurting each other.
It becomes clear to everyone that unless Trevor learns to let go, his half-sister is going to live a very sorrowful, very isolated life as a Belmont.

How would the Volturi react if their S/o is fan of true-crime Part 2
Caius
He wouldn't really care about your love of crime. In fact, he may have remarked several times why you bother with crime, because people are just people. (Even when you are about to be turned)
At first he doesn't really understand your hobbies, but over time you can get to a level where you can rarely discuss a current case that interests you.
Just like Aro and Marcus, Caius is protective of his partner, but he also goes for your fighting skills. If you can one day negotiate your way out of the castle walls, for example to go shopping, you can protect yourself, especially if you just go after danger.
He'll assign you a throne next to his that very day if you mention that you'd like to attend the judgement as his queen.
He won't stop you if you want to toy in the throne room with the vampire who has killed countless humans as a human, and even gives you a proud smile. However, if there's trouble, he'll step right in and rip the vampire's arms off. (Only if you're a vampire)
He won't hold you back if you want to spend time in the torture chamber with Jane later on, but only if you're a vampire and have good enough fighting skills and powers, if any. He trusts Jane not to let a strand of your hair get harmed.
Do you want to go out? Outside Volterra? Dream on. Every now and then you can go, the two of you, every couple of years for a little outing where he admires the art while you look for and maybe try to solve the crime of the place, under his protective gaze of course.
Overall, he's curious but doesn't mind your hobby, because he likes to see you cheered up after a case is solved (either the police found the killer or you did justice.)
Demetri
He would enjoy the situation, and before each mission he would ask what unsolved murders had occurred in that area. He loves the way your face lights up and he can find out everything in minutes.
If you're human or not, but if you're a vampire you can accompany him on the easier tasks.
He doesn't hesitate when you ask him to find the killer of an unsolved sick murder.
On your honeymoon you won't have the time or energy to deal with the crimes, your husband will take care of that, but in return when the masters give you two a few weeks off, he'll help you once or twice, and you'll always be amply repaid in the evening in your bedrooms.
The Greek vampire often had to steal you away from the company of Jane, with whom you became good friends.
He's not going to let you down in the dungeon, Jane or no Jane, you'll have to accept that, because there's a lot you can talk to him about but you won't be able to get him to let you near the ravenous and evil-minded vampires.
You had to fight not to be seen as the innocent, naive girl in order to get an action phase in your little investigation.
Overall, he would find your hobbies sexy and attractive, you can't imagine how many times he would have wanted to carry you to bed or kiss you when you were trying to find out who the killer was before the police did.
Alec
At the beginning of your relationship you don't really dare to tell him the truth, and understandably so, there's a lot of misunderstanding because you're secluded and if no one comes looking for you could be sitting in a secret corner of the garden or library for hours, reading police reports and articles on all sorts of subjects.
The cards have been turned, this time it's Alec who's bothered, annoyed that even when you're together you're not yourself, guilted into lying.
In the end, your own guilt won out, embarrassed, you told him about your hobbies of reading about crime and listening to podcasts.
A giant rock fell from the heart of the witch's twin. In relief, he ignores how unusual your hobby is and embraces you instead.
You have to teach him everything you know, even if it takes years. He wants to know why you're interested in the subject.
You're his partner, he doesn't want you to hide anything from him just because you're afraid of his reaction because of his past.
He will back you up if you want to investigate, up to the line that you won't involve yourself in danger, and leave the dirty work that arises to him and his sister.
If it weren't for you, he probably wouldn't care much about people based on his human experience.
Jane
Like Alec, it was hard to tell her.
Unlike her brother, she is more strongly against your hobby.
In the beginning she could smash your phone/laptop and the TV if she caught you.
For a long time, think weeks/months she always found someone to babysit, and even if you've worked your charm, they're all scared of Jane letting you have access to any electrical devices.
Jane hates your hobbies, she doesn't understand why you watch horror movies. Even if part of her is glad that knowing the horrors of the world won't make you leave, the biggest part of her wants to protect you from the horrors of the world.
If you are flexible, she will help you find other hobbies.
If not, she will set up boundaries. Don't think you can watch anything without her presence. For a long time, all electronic devices will disappear. And for Jane, such a long period can last for years.
She hopes that over the years you'll find other activities and hobbies to pursue, perhaps even taking her to museums and the theatre.
She'll soften up in time, but you'll have to work very hard on that, but she'll always hate true-crime which will always remind her of her own past humanity.

A more fleshed out idea of how I would have ended the Lenector story in the most balanced way I can think of.
Lenore is Hector's prisoner, as per canon. He still treats her as nothing happened, like a good friend, but Lenore is sulking and angry and not even bothering to keep up the façade like Hector used to do in her position. It's unfair, after she treated him as her only confidant, and she couldn't care less, that's what the traitor gets. Hector thinks he should be happy, to have reversed the roles on her... but he isn't. Unlike Lenore, power over another person doesn't satisfy him. He can't help but see her as a depressed animal in a cage... much like he used to be.
He wanted to protect her, he really did, but only now he's seeing how much hurt he caused her. Much like she said she meant to do with the ring, although to this day he doesn't know if it was a lie or the truth. There is no joy in inflicting her the same fate she inflicted upon him, even if it comes from a place of well-meaning and not selfishness. He has seen what that kind of "eye for an eye" mentality brings to the world, and he wants none of it.
So, he finally takes a decision for himself, and repays the one debt he has with her. He helps her flee from the castle. He is, for the first time, showing empathy to a person and not an animal.
(I don't even think Isaac needs to be kept in the dark. Lenore on her own is harmless, nothing like Carmilla who became a danger to the world. Hector and Lenore are dangerous tools in the wrong hands, but they lack the ambition that makes them solid threats, as they are mostly concerned with feeling safe. If Isaac truly wants to do good to everyone, he has no reason to keep Lenore as a prisoner, not even to force her to work for him. Same for Hector, since the two might have "forgiven" each other, but they have no relationship whatsoever. Perhaps him heeding Hector's request could show more how compassionate he has truly grown.)
Lenore is confused as to why, and Hector more or less explains that he couldn't bear watching her drinking herself into a stupor. Lenore snaps, and yells at him that he has no right to feeling sorry for her after what he has done, after going behind her back, after ruining her life... and is promptly shot down by Hector flashing his mutilated hand. Every ounce of ire Lenore directs at Hector is actually directed at herself, and they both know it. She is deeply regretting everything she did for the sake of people that didn't even respect her, she is just too proud to apologize. And her pride, her insecurity, her need to be the one in control, was what prevented her from truly being the good person she wanted to be. The very reason Hector wasn't happy with her despite her best efforts, and destroyed her life.
She really thought something so paltry as a slave ring would tame the human spirit. She really thought humans, like vampires, would care more about safety than freedom. For a diplomat who set herself to bridge humankind and vampirekind, she let her basic instincts get the better of her.
"Why didn't you just kill me back then?" she yells, attacks, it feels so good to blame Hector rather than herself. "At least I wouldn't have known how little I matter to you!"
"I'm no longer that child," Hector responds. "I'm no longer the boy who believes to have the right to punish others. Besides, shouldn't you know the desire to spare someone's life no matter what?"
They had never breached that subject again, not after Lenore dismissed it in a fit of denial. It still weighs on her. He can no longer care.
"All this time," Hector says at last, "I expected an apology, but I think I don't need it anymore. As much as I don't need you anymore. I'm grateful for your efforts to protect me from your sisters' ire, so now I'll use them to live for myself. I'm sorry it had to be this way."
He holds no grudges anymore, and he has genuinely come to appreciate the real Lenore behind her masks and the way she took care of him during the previous six weeks, when the world would have chewed him and spit him out; but at the same time, he can't bear staying with her. She makes him too sad. It reminds him of how low he allowed himself to be brought for the sake of some scraps of love. She reminds him too much of a version of him he doesn't want to be. There are too many conflicting feelings in him. He can't help but think that, in another life, the two could have been genuine friends, if not more... but not this one. Too much baggage, too much shared misery. He is done with it. No more will he seek safety and love in other people, as if he wasn't strong enough. He deserves better.
Lenore doesn't know what to think anymore. She wants to die so badly, she is almost tempted to not hide herself from the sun: she can't concieve her existence as nothing more than a black hole, unworthy of living. She is nothing more than a disgusting monster doomed to spread misery to the world, she thinks, and she should die like one. She has nothing left, no allies, no home, and the one person she fell in love with is pulling away from her, and she can't bear being abandoned, and she completely understands why he's doing so. At the same time, however... Hector too has nothing left, and yet he wants to live. After everything he went through, after himself desiring death at Isaac's hand, he wants to experience real life, not survival like he has done since he was born. Lenore pretended to praise his strength when she was manipulating him, but now she has come to genuinely admire that trait. Can she, a vampire used to nothing but comfort, be as strong as a human being?
She wants to ask Hector if he thinks she's a good person. A glance at his mutilated hand answers her more than any word could. Lenore, all this time, had no idea what being "good" meant, she was only good at putting up a façade of gentleness, and she thought it was enough. All this time, she behaved like a vampire pretending to be human... so now, she will learn from the best human she has ever met. The best person. The only one who saw her as a person as well, behind her masks, behind her usefulness.
Even if Hector is now walking towards the dawn, with nothing but his resolution. For the first time, he will live for him, for himself.
They will never meet again, but in a twisted way, they gave each other what they needed to grow.
#netflix castlevania#netflixvania thoughts#netflixvania#not tagging the main tag#lenector#lenore thoughts#lenore castlevania#also not tagging hector because i don't want to use the same tag as game hector and i can't think of an alternative#this is really the fairest i could be#it doesn't fix all the issues of the storyline such as hector's contradicting plan or the ring straight up not working#but there you go. this is how i would have done things without punishing any of them unfairly#see just treat the sympathetic villain like a sympathetic villain and the victim as someone capable of growing#toxic ships are valid and toxic unhealthy dynamics fascinate me so! that's why i can't stop thinking about this story and its potential#also i couldn't help inserting some of the themes of the cod mangas#like associating humanity with strength and will to live#... and i think in the process i kinda turned lenore into game isaac whoops

To christen this blog, how about you compile your top 10 reasons NFCV should not be watched either as an adaptation or its own thing? :3c
Only ten? I have like. 40, at least. But oh well! I'll be happy to provide with ten, for a start. ❤️
(Warning for mentions of SA and death)
Reason number 10: The characters all suck, in one way or another. The only ones I have some sympathy for is Hector who was never given the chance to evolve, and was forced to be a victim the whole show, and Trevor, who is never taken seriously and is mostly there to be mocked by those who are supposed to be his friends.
The others? Dracula is a joke who can't keep his own men in line. He has to wait for a #girlboss to enter and insult his wife to his face. He spends most of his screentime being a poor little meow meow, gaslighting everyone into thinking he deserved the happy ending he got. Isaac is boring and his "deep arc" really is just inconsistent and a bad version of game!Hector's arc. Lenore is. Lenore. :) Going from a manipulative villain to a poor little meow meow so fast it's ridiculous. The lesbian vampires just exist to be lesbians and pretend the plot is more deep and complex than it is.... it's not enough to have good ideas. You need to execute them properly.
Concerning Nocturne? Only the girl who was kidnapped and used as Erzsebet's juice box has my compassion. Everyone else sucks, from Maria being twitter personnified, to Annette being a cunt who gets a pass because she's black. Tera doesn't do shit to defend her own children when Annette insults them right in front of her. Edouard is there for cheap drama. The Abbot Emmanuel's logic for why he does what he does doesn't make any sense. Erzsebet has no charisma and is a cheap replacement for the villain Dracula should have been (not to mention her plan is stupid because we saw vampires being touched by sunlight with no problem on multiple occasions. :) And Olrox literally went to met his future bf in plain daylight. Clearly the sun musn't be THAT much of a problem). Olrox and his bf are there to be gay. And Juste... Juste deserves his own post for how dirty they did him. Richter isn't THAT bad compared to the rest of the cast, but I do not care for him (except when he gets shit on for no reason), he's just a cheap mix of Trevor and Game!Richter. And Drolta is Game!Isaac with boobs. Would be cool if Game!Isaac wasn't constantly shat on by NFCV fans, the same who love Drolta. :)
Reason number 9: You like representation in your media? NFCV sucks at it. They have: man who gets raped by both a man and a woman, two lesbians who exist just to be lesbians and could very well be written out of the plot, two gay men with a rushed relationship who share very little screentime together (four scenes and the first one is them meeting) yet we are supposed to be affected by their romance, one man who is implied to have a bf so vaguely that most people probably have missed the one hint there was of it, and lesbian main villain who uses a random woman as a juice box and potentially is mindcontrolling her (would be hot if said villain had any charisma and random woman was more than a fridge)
Reason number 8: Character developments are either bad, meh, or inexistant. Isaac goes from ordering his night creatures to kill every survivor at the end of an episode, to build them graves and rebuild the town and pretend to be so deep and nice and caring for said innocents and future people of this town in the next. Hector started a nice guy trying to live in peace, has lived as a nice guy trying to live in peace while getting mocked and shit on and used and abused by everyone, and ended as a nice guy trying to live in peace but now in a Castle and with one finger less. I guess Trevor is less of a drunkard than before (but it's not like we saw him drink THAT much before). Lenore's development is not much of a development than it is the writers trying to convince us she was always sweet and tragic and Good Deep Down and make us forget her evil doings...
Reason number 7: There's lots of ACTUAL anime out there with prettier animation, if that's what you like. Or you could. Play the games. ❤️
Reason number 6: The couples are bad. Sypha is rude and never showed any interest or appreciation for Trevor's own interests or findings. They don't have an actual spark, despite "cute" moments here and there. The moment Sypha asked Trevor to travel with her just made me question what she saw in him considering now she's been treating him (also the moment she decides to nickname Trevor as "Treffy" is embarrassing more than cute. Doesn't help that it's the same moment where she pulled him aside to scold HIM for getting mad and defending himself against Alucard's bullying). They lack a proper build-up, because the show loves doing things offscreen and expecting us to go along with it, but they NEED to be together because they NEED to have sex because they NEED to have children even though they completely destroyed the reason why.
Alucard and Greta. Haha. Oh Alucard and Greta. You'll see in reason number 1 the biggest reason why Greta sucks big sweaty balls, but one of them is that she's just a generic girlboss. Her and Alucard are not an official couple, but considering the parellel they made with Draculisa at some point (Alucard bowing to welcome her in his home, like Dracula bowed to Lisa to welcome her in his lab), and her line "lucky you have me to run your life for you now", I think it's implied. And I do not buy it. :) (They both suck anyway, so who cares)
Richter and Annette DEFINITELY have NO chemistry at ALL. Annette spends most of her time HATING Richter, who is only, along with everyone else, trying to help her. And when they finally see each other again after multiple episodes of being away from each other, during wich everytime Annette mentions Richter it's to insult him, when dares to pretend she was worried for him and they have a little "cute" scene together...? NO. THEY DID NOT EARN IT. THEY BARELY SHOWED ANY INTEREST IN EACH OTHER BEFORE RICHTER DISAPPEARS, ANNETTE SEEMS TO DESPISE HIM MORE THAN ANYTHING. And one of the worst things is that thinking of HER, a woman he JUST met and who just kept insulting him, that Richter unlocked his powers??? I CALL BULLSHIT. YOU CANNOT RUSH THINGS TO THIS DEGREE, NO.
I ain't talking about the two gay couples because there's literally nothing to say. The lesbians are supposed to be cute and the gays are supposed to be hot. It's just fetishization at this point.
Reason number 5: Female characters are either fridged or girlbosses. That's it. Don't expect much variety here. Because apparently to be a woman you have to either shut up and die, or be super strong and rude. (Or be a BDSM mommy. :))
Reason number 4: CHURCH BAD mentality with no nuance. Because it's so cool and edgy. And that works for both shows. :)
Reason number 3: The villains sucks too, when you have your brain turned on. You might like the ideas or the designs (though Erzebet Sun Thundercat's design is so awful i can't understand why anyone would like it. Also Carmilla is ugly guys?? Her head melts into her hair, come on), maybe a scene here and there, but when it comes to the execution? Urgh. I already talked about Dracula being a poor little meow meow, but what I can add that him and Isaac are fucking stupid for going with Carmilla's plan. Isaac is fucking stupid for blaming Hector and going after him. And Carmilla is fucking stupid for treating Hector the way she did when he wasn't intending to go against her before she makes him her prisoner and beats him up.
Reason number 2: Play the games. The themes and ideas taken from them are bastardized and done poorly in the show, when they're not straight up ditched.
Isaac's arc? Game!Hector's but more inconsistent and pretentious. Trevor and his family being rejected and hated by the people? Castlevania 3 (and this fear and dislike of them won't end until centuries later, with Simon). Dracula welcoming Isaac and Hector and making them his generals? He did so in CoD and they were literal children seeking a home, wich he helped and shared his own essence with. Not two random dudes who happen to have powers of their own. Alucard vs Dracula and the tragedy of blood fighting blood? Symphony of the Night but way too early
Alucard literally steals Trevor's spot as the main character and the one who is supposed to kill Dracula first, wich is a MAJOR part of the games and the CV universe, completely taking away the Belmonts' purpose as the only ones capable of defeating Dracula. It was completely unnecessary, too, if what they wanted was family angst, as Alucard could have simply been about to stake his father, but because of his love for him, would have been unable to give the final blow. Leading to Trevor giving the final blow himself, so his "friend" wouldn't have to go through the pain of doing it himself, thus keeping the Belmonts' unfortunate purpose intact and still making for a poignant father/son tragedy. But no, they just had to make Alucard the MC and make him destroy the core of the games they are supposed to adapt, on top of making him a cunt.
Oh, and this idea of Dracula being the literal Lord of Darkness? Not just any vampire, but the most powerful of them, a straight-up demon, respected and feared by all creatures of the night, who has multiple terrific forms and cannot be killed by any weapon... other than the Vampire Killer? Out the window! Now we're SUPPOSED to think he's big and scary and dangerous, but he can be killed with a piece of wood and no one respects him! Barely fear him! Not even Death, who is supposed to be his closest confidant and most devoted servant, is now an entity that uses him in the dark and don't hold any respect for him. Pathetic.
There's no respect to the source material. The VK means nothing now, wich is coherent with the fact that Belmonts mean nothing now, because Dracula means nothing now and nothing is near as epic as it is in the games. Nothing that makes "Castlevania" Castlevania matters anymore, it's just bullshit, and chances are, what you like from the show you will prefer in the games.
Reason number 1: It handles trauma and sexual assault like the purest shit.
It's something to not give a shit about Trevor's trauma wich happened offscreen. It's another to treat the trauma the characters go through RIGHT IN FRONT OF US like it's nothing.
As much of a cunt Alucard is, I cannot excuse the way his case with Sumi and Taka was handle. Forget how their reasoning for betraying Alucard was shit and the way they decided to go at it was unnecessary. The fact is, they tricked Alucard with sex. Giving him the deepest kind of affection sexual creatures can share, making him so very vulnerable, making him believe he was loved and not alone anymore... only to betray him. Forcing Alucard to kill them before they kill him. It's a truly traumatizing experience that can easily lead to the victim struggling to trust anyone, on top of having a very complicated relationship with their own body from then on.
How does NFCV handles that? It makes Alucard piss on the corpses of his old friends, then have him tell his story to a random #girlboss who jumps on the occasion to make a joke out of it, comparing this very obvious sexual assault and betrayal of his trust with her willingly sleeping with a married man.
Funnily enough, Hector was going through the same thing at the same time! He has been manipulated and seduced by Lenore. She's the only one who treated him decently (because Carmilla is supposed to be a smart bitch who can trick Dracula and his court, but not smart enough to understand that physically assaulting Hector and letting him rot in a cell naked with only molded bread for food and freezing water thrown at him to wash is a bad idea.), the only one who talked to him, offered him gifts such as books, a bed, a desk. She worked her way into his heart until he fell for her and "willingly" had sex with her... and then, in this crucial moment, where Hector was at his most vulnerable, she stabbed him in the back. Made him her slave with a magic ring. Then went on to say "Shh, the real people are talking" to him when she talks about her brilliant plan to her sisters, and then going "i gave you what you always needed. i made you into my pet." when Hector expresses his horror and pain about the situation.
At the end of s3, there was absolutely no doubt that Lenore was an evil, two-faced villain. And there was hope that Hector would go back at her when he pensively looked into a fire, a parallel to when he burned down his home with his parents inside, and foreshadowing for chaos to come... but nope! Next season, he makes sex jokes with Lenore like we're supposed to believe they share chemistry, and he PROTECTS her from Isaac, and let her die on her own terms because she could not handle to be trapped in the same kind of life she tried to trap Hector in! And Hector's sexual assault is only mentioned ONCE, so Lenore can go "oh shush, you were having fun". :)
Actually, it's not that NFCV handles sexual assault and trauma badly. It's that it does not believe men can go through them, clearly. It uses very heavy topic for cheap drama and nothing else. Lenore did not need to have sex with Hector and trap him with a magic ring for her plan, not any more than Sumi and Taka needed to fuck Alucard if all they needed to do was use some magic object on him to trap him. Ellis just wanted something he could masturbate to. And THAT is supposed to be the Peak Adaptation Of All Time? Seriously?
Oh you also have Richter's trauma. They literally gave him a mom just to fridge her and use that for a little bit of drama that only really matters ONCE, when Richter runs away from Olrox in the dungeon, and Annette hates him for it... but then he quickly gets over this years-long trauma and next time he sees Olrox, it's as if he's just another vampire. It's not as bad as Alucard and Hector's cases, granted, but it's ridiculous. A clear case of bad writing who feels the need to rush things.
SO YEAH. Plenty of things wrong here, and plenty more to come. ❤️ I can't possibly tell them all in just one post. It wouldn't be fun. 🥰

"To-morrow, my friend, we must part. You return to your beautiful England, I to some work which may have such an end that we may never meet. Your letter home has been despatched; to-morrow I shall not be here, but all shall be ready for your journey. In the morning come the Szgany, who have some labours of their own here, and also come some Slovaks. When they have gone, my carriage shall come for you, and shall bear you to the Borgo Pass to meet the diligence from Bukovina to Bistritz. But I am in hopes that I shall see more of you at Castle Dracula."
Jonathan rightly suspects Dracula's sincerity here. But I do think at least some of it is sincere. In fact, he appears to alternate back and forth between truth and lies here. He's telling the truth about his own schedule, while every word referring to Jonathan's own 'journey' is an outright lie. That's all pretty obvious.
I also believe that Dracula's emotion is mostly honest here too: he looks at Jonathan "as grimly as a man can look" because he's genuinely sad that their time together has come to an end. He's liked talking with/tormenting Jonathan, and perhaps doesn't want it to be over. But he's got a schedule to keep. That's part of why I think the next bit with the wolves isn't necessarily something he planned beforehand, so much as a spur-of-the-moment joke he conceives of as soon as Jonathan asks to leave. And it cheers Dracula up immensely. He gets his super-smooth voice on (which always signals the sweetest words and deepest cruelties) and gets to deliver the most utterly evilly sarcastic line: "Not an hour shall you wait in my house against your will," as well as make Jonathan once again 'choose' to stay.
I've been over that before, though. The two bits that especially interest me this time through are the ones that hint at Dracula's future plans. The final line is pretty obvious in my eyes: he expects the vampire ladies to turn Jonathan into a vampire as well. If/when he returns to the castle, he would thus also be looking forward to seeing more of Jonathan then as well. That makes complete sense. But I never noticed the other line before. For a second it made me double-take, like, is Dracula actually hinting at a possibility that he might not survive this trip?! But, surely that's not it. His arrogance would never allow for such an idea to be so clear a possibility and he certainly wouldn't mention it aloud. He's confident in his victory, after all his careful preparations. So then... what does this hint at? I suppose he's saying he may never return at all (it's his work that would mean they might not meet, so it can't be concern that the vampire women will only kill Jonathan without turning him, or anything). But why? What precisely is the 'end' he refers to here? Is he anticipating starting some elaborate vampire empire that requires him to be so hands-on that he can't leave it?

Masked Pt 5 - Draco Malfoy
Part 5 of a 5 part mini fic, hope you enjoy <3
Previous Part
Summary so far: Well, you've made it onto the train at Hogwarts... now how will the rest of your time there go? Who will you encounter? What will be revealed? Well basically... no I'm not going to do that, read the whole MASKED mini series!
A/N: Well this is weird. I'm not a Draco girl never have been, never will be.. and yet this is probably one of the best yet most cheesy things I'll ever write in my life. I love Masked so much, and now that it's nearly finished, I can actually tell the people who follow my tiktok about it... If you haven't found this oneshot book from my tiktok, go follow me over there @azrakaban x
...
It had been a month since you arrived at Hogwarts. You were privately sorted after the feast in professor Dumbledore's office, and it had confirmed most people's suspicions: you were a Slytherin. (the house was necessary for plot, but I'll do others with yn as other houses <3)
You were settling into life at the castle well.. aside from one thing. You saw Draco every day, and it was awkward to say the least. He had elected to ignore you in person as well as by letter. Not that you were surprised; it was expected, although a small part of you wished he had made some attempt to explain his sudden silence.
That was, until the new Professor Slughorn paired you together in potions. He was silent throughout the class, ignoring your questions in every lesson, leaving you to ask someone else. And, rolling your eyes, you would. It was stupid.
Of course, you understood that there was pressure on him. Your group recently heard that Draco had been given the dark mark by the dark lord, branding him as a death eater. You had no idea what that entailed. But that didn't excuse his complete ignorance of your existence.
"Do we add this?" You asked, not expecting any kind of response. You were holding up an ingredient from your cupboard. Draco remained indifferent, and you sighed.
Then, you turned over the ingredient in your palm and cried out. It had a sharp side, and was slightly buried into your hand. You pulled it out, throwing it into your potion, no longer caring if it was supposed to be in there.
Draco completely ignored your small yelp of pain, aside from stiffening slightly as blood ran down your palm. (No he's not a vampire, calm down Twilight and tvd fans).
He just watched as you pressed fabric against it to stop the bleeding, and as Pansy helped you wrap your hand in a spair clean rag. You could have sworn you seen his mouth quirk up at the corner. That was it.
With your good hand, you wrote him a note: "Meet me after class. We need to talk." His eyes roved it for a second before crumpling it into his pocket.
You waited until class was over, unfortunately leaving after Draco. You found it unlikely that he had decided to wait for you, so left with Pansy, Astoria and Rhia, who you had quickly found was an incredible friend.
To your surprise, you were wrong about him. Draco was waiting outside the dungeon classroom, leaning against the wall looking bored. You excused yourself from the girls, and walked over to him.
"Hi." You said, suddenly feeling a little apprehensive. "Hey." He replied. Wow, your first words in over six months and they were incredibly awe inspiring. Not.
"Okay so I don't exactly want to be overheard, so do you mind coming with me? I just don't want people finding dirt to use on us." You said, giving him a small smile.
"Ah yes, because it's such a bad thing for you to be seen with me." Draco said, sarcasm evident in his voice.
"That's not what I said." You said, the smile fading from your voice. "But actually, it doesn't matter too much if we're seen, Theo won't tell my parents, and nobody else actually gives a shit about the whole rivalry thing." You continued, leading him into an empty classroom.
"I know. I heard you reprimanding your brother. Nice job with that by the way."
You closed the door and turned back to Draco, who was leaning against a desk with his hands in his pockets.
"Thanks. So, I don't really know how to say this, but let me start with a quick WHAT THE FUCK DRACO?" You said, nearly yelling the last part.
"What in the salazar do you mean Nott?" Said Draco, still maintaining his bored attitude but with a slight edge to his voice.
"You know what! You've been ignoring me for over a month in potions, letting me mess up, and now hurt myself! And not to mention your complete-" You said, pacing.
Draco grabbed your wrist, forcing you to stop walking. "I'm going to stop you there. You haven't spoken to me in six months, yn, and suddenly I'm the bad guy for ignoring you as well?" He said, looking mad.
"What the hell do you mean? I wrote to you so many times when I didn't hear back from you! I only stopped because I heard nothing from you. You went silent!" You said, spitting out the last word.
"Oh really? What about the hundreds of letters I wrote to you during the sixth months of silence from you? What about the fact that throughout the time I was writing those letters, all I could think about was whether or not you were okay? The anxiety that kept me awake worrying about you? Thought not." Said Draco, his voice getting louder. You were silent, in shock.
He scoffed, pushing off the desk. He opened the door and walked out, disappearing around the door. You unforze and went after him immediately.
"Draco! DRACO!" You yelled, getting his attention. He turned around, and you nearly walked straight into his chest.
"What yn?" He said, looking down at you with a look of disappointment, tinged in sadness.
"What letters Draco?" You said, looking into his eyes, completely serious. His expression changed to one of confusion.
"What letters Draco?" You repeated. His mouth opened. Then closed. Then opened again, and spoke. His voice was hoarse, with seemed disbelief.
"I wrote to you yn. Every day, up until the day I saw you at the feast, completely fine. Every day I wrote, asking if you were okay, trying to check if you were still alive.
I was terrified that your father had followed through with his threat. I found excuses to come by the Nott Estate, trying to see if you were fine.
But I never saw you. And I still kept writing. Why? Because of some crazy spell you have on me. I haven't been able to think straight for seven months, because I didn't know if you were dead, or if you straight up were done with me. Did you not get my letters?" He said, hand running through his hair, dislodging what was clearly previously styled.
"I wasn't okay." You whispered, eyes brimming with tears. Draco looked at you before grabbing your hand and pulling you into him. You looked up and met his eyes, tears spilling over.
"I missed you Draco. Every day. And while I didn't write every day, I didn't give up, I kept writing every month. I only stopped because I thought you were done with me, and wouldn't want ot hear from me. Because I knew you were alive. You come up in death eater meetings. And it was torture, knowing you were alive, but thinking you didn't want me anymore. And no, I didn't get your letters." You said, wrapping your arms around his waist and burying your face into his chest.
Draco's hand cupped your face, tilting your head to meet his gaze. "I would never give up on you." He said, resting his forehead against yours. "Do you want to know why?" He questioned.
"Maybe?" You said, arms moving to wrap around his neck.
"Just maybe?" He repeated, leaning back a little bit.
"Probably?" You offered, repeating the words you both said before your first kiss.
His lips met yours, soft and sweet, but passionate. You kissed him back, fingers tangling into his previously messed up hair. You both pulled back for air, foreheads rested against each other.
"It's because I love you, yn. I didn't stop during the last seven months." He said, not nervously. There was no hesitation as he said it. And maybe that was what prompted you to speak. "I love you too Draco. I didn't stop."
His lips found yours again, gently pushing against you. You returned the kiss, letting him pull you closer to him.
You looked into his eyes. His ice blue eyes, the ones that first intruiged you from under his mask at the very beginning of your relationship. So much had changed, yet so little. But now, you had Draco to go through it with. And neither of you had any plans to leave any time soon.
Hope you guys enjoyed Masked! Please leave a like, reblog or comment if you enjoyed<3

Been thinking about Re:Dracula and how it's really difficult to do a truly accurate adaptation without just reading the book word for word in an audio format, and about how two big things I see in movie and other visually based adaptations are how they cut down the plot and they cut down the cast size.
Thinking about one that does it like: Mina, Johnathan, Lucy, Quincey, Van Helsing
Combine roles between Mina and Seward, and between Quincey and Arthur.
Mina is the medical student who studied under Van Helsing (emphasizes her role as the Smart One, lets Van Helsing see her more as an apprentice rather than a child to patronize, also gets in some Victorian gender role drama as Mina is a (highly qualified but still) woman going into a scientific/medical field dominated by men, she doesn't own an asylum though so alas no Renfield... unless... hmm, anyway one reason Jonathan is so eager to get that promotion is to help Mina finish medical school)
Give Quincey Arthur's most notable traits of being rich and having dogs, but also the most important traits of being an American cowboy from Texas who tells stories and plays up the persona for fun. And has a gun. Give Lucy other less important suitors in a flashback or something but make it clear these two Really Have Something
Mina becomes Lucy's best friend and doctor, maybe with Lucy's mother being dismissive of Mina as a woman trying to go into the medical field but accepting of her as an unpaid nurse for Lucy, Mina receives the news about Johnathan while Lucy seems to have gotten better but she asks Lucy's fiance to keep an eye on her just in case, and to contact her old professor if needed.
Harkers get married on the spot as god intended.
While Mina's gone, Van Helsing is unfortunately still a misogynist and doesn't handle Lucy and her mother as well as he could have, Quincey is just deferring to the apparent expert, Lucy dies and proceeds to Bloof, Van Helsing handles that roughly the same way as before but with only one sidekick this time.
Mina and Johnathan return upon receiving the news and Van Helsing tries to convince Mina that vampires are a thing the same way he did with Seward but with more "ah but you don't need to know all that because you're a woman" so she doesn't buy it until she connects the dots with Johnathan's experience and reads his journal, proceeds to tell him everything in there was real and gets Quincey to help them catch up on what happened with Lucy and to catch him up on what Dracula seems to be up to.
They go to Van Helsing for advice, he comes up with an arrangement that keeps Mina busy with something important but "safe" while he and the lads go out breaking and entering. Quincey shoots at a bat, Dracula gets Mina, Johnathan gets his anime transformation, Van Helsing burns Mina with something holy, there's an argument between the guys that gets cut off by Mina breaking down and Johnathan shooing the others out to comfort her, but Quincey sleeps in the hall outside.
Dracula runs away but forgets to turn off Mina's psychic "find your phone" settings, Mina is the Train Fiend, Van Helsing is confronted with how his efforts have led to further pain and realizes maybe they'll be better off if he steps back into a mentor rather than leader role, Quincey arms everyone and takes care of them by throwing money around and trying to be the level headed dependable comforting one, Mina can tell when Dracula is paying attention to her and this is the only time when hypnosis is necessary, the chase happens roughly as in canon.
Mina and Van Helsing go up to the castle to fight the Weird Sisters, maybe it's a bit more active this time, maybe Mina manages to channel Dracula's command in a way that saves them from the girlies but they realize that she's more vampiric than ever and killing Dracula is even more urgent.
Quincey and Johnathan follow Dracula by boat or by horse, whichever one is more exciting. They bond and it's low key kinda bisexual ngl but if anything comes of that it's a promise to talk to Mina once it's all over and they're safe again, they generally plan wistfully for the future, Johnathan feels a chill in sync with when Mina uses the Dracula power, Quincey suggests a spar to practice and get out their energy, maybe to add more interest here one of Dracula's scouts finds them and says there's a group of Dracula's servants that want to be free and will help them fight when they catch up.
The final battle goes a little differently, Mina puts herself in a barrier circle to protect Van Helsing from the possibility of her going vampiric but keeps a gun to provide ranged aid, Quincey and Johnathan roll up to Dracula's entourage and their secret allies back them up in the fight, Mina and Van Helsing provide cover fire and maybe make it seem like there's way more armed reinforcements up here to scare off the servants, the boys tag team Dracula as god intended, the gang reunites.
If I want to be evil and make good on those death flags, then Quincey dies (but not before seeing Mina's recovery and also getting kissed on the cheek by both Harkers at the same time) and the Harkers' first son is named after him. If I want to spare Quincey, then Van Helsing dies and his last moments are spent telling the gang that he's proud of them, and especially telling Mina that she's the brightest student he's ever had and he only wishes he could live to see her success but something about watching over them all from heaven idk. I guess the Harkers would name their first son Abraham then lmao, and maybe I'd give Quincey a lasting injury from the fight so he uses mobility aids in the future, and they'd definitely stay as a close knit trio forever. One might even call them roommates. See the thing is Quincey dying is canon and would bring more proper tragedy but also I don't want to kill him...

@manybcdthings roxy x hunter - the castle
-
Roxy isn't sure what the protocol is when it comes to vampire vs wolf training sessions, but she also doesn't care. She interrupts a small group of blood-slurpers, pointing out the largest one as her opponent. It's a short lived match, as years worth of anger can erupt from Roxy in seconds especially against a vampire. She lets all the memories of her lost pack members release to the forefront of her mind, the blame she carries for their deaths. The years that followed of feeling lost in her own pack because of it. All of it is unleashed against the vampire, the fight ending in a spectacular display of her over it's listless body. She leans up to swipe her own blood from her face, smearing it into her hair as she spots a certain wolf who joined the others in watching. "Hunter!" Roxy greets him a smile, perking up as if it's a crisp and easy Sunday morning. She moves from the vampire, beginning to roll the giant towards the edge of the ring. "He said he knew you. What's that about? You being a good lil pup and making friends with our neighbors? That doesn't sound like you." she asks and teases all at once, waving for Hunter to join her. "Uppies. Your turn." she offers him a hand that she knows he doesn't need into the ring.

markate thoughts i am poorly compiling into this post
gone gone gone markate is real and it's so sweet and sad and bittersweet and just mark and kate being so soso in love with each other and mark continuing to love kate long after she dies at the murder castle. i could write a fic for this if i were brave enough
tunnels au. remember that? i had a thought of mark and erin swapping places w jamie and kate nd being the ones to survive that night and just. kate dying in mark's arms as he begs her to stay awake. they had only just made up with each other, finally back together. it can't end here, it can't. but it does, with kate sacrificing herself to make sure mark made it out alive.
not really a thought just. sometimes i listen to the boy who could fly and it'll. just. 'i guess i never should have loved you, but i do forever 'cause you love me' + 'if you were gonna leave this world, how could it be without me?' + 'now it's all over my tongue and it still has no taste, 'cause without you, there is no me' markate.
imagine kate surviving and mark dying. imagine, in her grief, kate continuously dreams of mark. imagine dream mark trying to help kate move on. imagine it.
dark mermaid aus r where it's at just mark nearly fuckin drowning in the ocean after trying to take some nice photos only to be saved by mermaid kate and kate is like 'well i was going to eat you but you looked all scared and worried over that weird box of yours being in the water and it made me curious so im letting you live for now' and mark is like 'what the fuck' and then they fall in love
werewolf kate vampire mark that's it that's the thought
just a cute domestic scene of markate staying in for the day and existing together. mark occasionally taking a photo of kate here and there because he just can't help himself. kate asking mark for advice on scripts.
u know what fuck it kate can draw really really well and i think she likes drawing mark. mark takes photos of her and kate sketches him out.
sometimes i like to imagine that mark can play the acoustic guitar, y'know? so i'll sometimes just picture him absently playing the guitar while kate sits with him and just listens. doesn't matter what he's playing, she just sits there and admires him while he plays.
mark and kate still broken up but still very aware of each other's habits and preferences so well that whenever someone else needs to get something for one of them, they go to the other for advice.
markate the 30th by billie eilish.
but also markate i don't care if you're contagious by pierce the veil. yeah.
more on werewolf kate vampire mark. everyone literally everyone expects their roles to be swapped and are Very surprised when they see mark sipping on a blood bag with a massive fucking werewolf just chilling next to him.
kate having a nightmare. her and mark aren't together anymore but she still finds herself calling mark for comfort because hearing his voice always calms her down. mark always answers, and the moment he hears her voice he's dropping everything and showing up at her apartment in the middle of the night w some food and some shitty romcoms
markate at jerin's wedding and kate catches the bouquet.
okay now picture an au where tdim doesn't happen and markate didn't know each other. picture kate having a cute adorable little chihuahua that she takes to the dog park every week. imagine mark being at the dog park as well w connie. the chihuahua and connie become best friends which in turn means mark and kate see each other often and get to know each other. the dogs are matchmakers is what im saying.
i think mark and kate have 100% pretended to be a married couple for one reason or another. we don't know what happened in topeka. anything we want could've happened in topeka.
mark 100% teaches himself about crystals and shit and he 100% buys kate crystals bc the way her eyes light up and the smile on her face when he does is all worth it
me and kearney once talked abt mark having a youtube channel where he mostly talked about cameras and photography but occasionally played a game here and there w jamie and i just imagine kate being his number one fan that's all.
i actually think markate would thrive in a zombie apocalypse. don't ask where this came from im listening to speed by atari teenage riot and it made me think of zombies bc of lollipop chainsaw it's a whole thing anyways yeah markate zombie apocalypse au
uhhhh that's all i can think about rn.

when your centuries-long situationship invites your crush to dinner while you're out of town all because he's jealous / @encntada
Xavier looks on, eyes wide as he replays Wesley's words in his head. "What... does that mean? What did you do?" The pit in his stomach grows heavier as a chill settles over him. Being sent out of town on errands that could easily have been completed by anyone else in the castle was suspicious enough, but Xavier knows that if there is any hope of helping Lydia, he needs Wesley's guard to be completely down.
The whole trip was made even more suspect upon his return, when the first words out of Wesley's mouth concerned their guest.
"You know, you worry too much. Sometimes I believe this life is lost on you. You should know to slow down now and then. It ages you. Relax--your prize is just fine. Still in her room, last I checked, in fact," Wesley doesn't look up from his work, and for a moment it doesn't seem like there will be much more of an answer until a creak of his office chair eats through the silence as he leans back so that the front two legs are pushed off the ground. "I took very good care of her while you were gone. Perhaps not as good as you, but with what she had to tell me over dinner, I could argue that you, my dear, have crossed a line that I was very clear about."
If his heart was still beating, Xavier's would have skipped at the implication. Instead, he presses his lips into a thin line and approaches the desk, taking the only chair on the opposite side. "You invited her to dinner. Better than that, you invited her to share dinner, not to be dinner." The beginnings of a smile briefly overtake his expression, but he is careful to maintain his composure as Wesley's calculating eyes find his. "How... thoughtful?"
Wesley makes a dramatic show of rolling his eyes, which appear lighter when he looks back to his friend. "I wouldn't do that to you. I don't like it, but I can see you've bonded with her. I wouldn't send you away just to get rid of her."
"You promised her she would live." Xavier's words are quick. Considering the current conversation, it's a dangerous move, but he can't deny the urge he has to protect her as Wesley continues. If there was ever a reason to use his cards, this, he thinks, is it. "You get rid of her and you'll never see me again," Xavier says, voice even as he sits on the edge of the seat.
"Haven't I heard that before? What is this? Year 139 that you've lived here?" The tension is thick enough to cut as the quiet works its way back in. Wesley sighs, pushing his way up and pausing at the other side of the desk where he watches as Xavier leans away, head tilted up even without the advantage in height. "So what is your plan, then? Let her live here forever? She's human, dear." Contempt drips from the word. "Even if that were feasible, she will die. And you have never turned anyone before." And there is a lot that Wesley would do for the other, but the offer to transform Lydia into a vampire does not even enter his thoughts. "I wish you would open your eyes. I hate to see you losing yourself."
For all of the legends and the stories that are told about the vampire who lives in the big, dark castle on the hill, Xavier has learned to separate the myths from the truths. Truth: Wesley is a ruthless and bloodthirsty being whose sadistic tendencies should be avoided at all costs. Myth: Wesley is not the all-powerful, all-knowing, mind-reading being that he prefers others to think he is.
As Xavier sits before him, shoulders slumped and eyes pointed toward the floor, he has never been so glad that the myths are simply that. It means that his thoughts are protected as he shakes his head and considers how being here with Lydia is the first time he has felt truly like himself since he was human.

Guts Prompt List
100 prompts for Guts by Olivia Rodrigo, practice good reblog karma and send a prompt or two to the person you reblog this from
I forgive and I forget
I know my age and I act like it
Got what you can't resist, I’m a perfect all-American bitch
I know my place and this is it
I don't get angry when I'm pissed, I'm the eternal optimist
All the time, I'm grateful all the time
I'm sexy and I'm kind, I'm pretty when I cry
Haven't heard from you in a couple of months, but I'm out right now and I'm all fucked up
And I know we're done, I know we're through, but, God, when I look at you
I should probably, probably not
Seeing you tonight, it’s a bad idea, right?
Seeing you tonight, fuck it, it's fine
Yes, I know that he's my ex but can't two people reconnect?
I only see him as a friend, the biggest lie I ever said
I just tripped and fell into his bed
And I told my friends I was asleep but I never said where or in whose sheets
And I'm sure I've seen much hotter men but I really can't remember when
Hate to give the satisfaction asking how you're doing now
How's the castle built off people you pretend to care about
I see the parties and the diamonds sometimes when I close my eyes
Six months of torture you sold as some forbidden paradise
I loved you truly, you gotta laugh at the stupidity
Cause I've made some real big mistakes but you make the worst one look fine
I used to think I was smart but you made me look so naïve
Bloodsucker, famefucker, bleeding me dry like a goddamn vampire
Every girl I ever talked to told me you were bad, bad news
Oh, what a mesmerizing, paralyzing, fucked up little thrill
Went for me and not her cause girls your age know better
You said it was true love but wouldn't that be hard?
You can't love anyone cause that would mean you had a heart
Aren't you the sweetest thing on this side of Hell?
It's like you're made of angel dust
Yeah, I despise my rotten mind and how much it worships you
And I don't think I get along with anyone
I'm on the outside of the greatest inside joke
Feels like my skin doesn't fit right over my bones
The party's done, and I'm no fun, I know, I know
I broke a glass, I tripped and fell, I told secrets I shouldn't tell
I laughed at the wrong time, sat with the wrong guy
Everythin' I do is tragic
Want it, so I got it, did it, so it's done
Another thing I ruined, I used to do for fun
Another day pretendin' I'm older than I am
Another perfect moment that doesn't feel like mine
Well, sometimes I feel like I don't wanna be where I am
Push away all the people who know me the best
I'm so tired of bein' the girl that I am
And I'm playin' the victim so well in my head
And I tell someone I love them just as a distraction
They tell me that they love me like I'm some tourist attraction
I got the things I wanted, it's just not what I imagined
Master manipulator, god, you're so good at what you do
Come for me like a savior and I'd put myself through hell for you
And now you got me thinking two plus two equals five and I'm the love of your life
You built a giant castle with walls so high, I couldn't see
The way it all unraveled and all the things you did to me
Said I was too young, I was too soft
Can't take a joke, can't get you off
I know I'm half responsible and that makes me feel horrible
I know I could've stopped it all, God, why didn't I stop it all?
I met a guy in the summer and I left him in the spring
Another song, another club, another bar, another dance
So I miss him some nights when I'm feeling depressed
Do I love him? Do I hate him? I guess it's up and down
I wanna get him back, I wanna make him really jealous, wanna make him feel bad
Cause then again, I really miss him and it makes me real sad
Oh, I want sweet revenge and I want him again, I want to get him back
So I write him all these letters, then I throw them in the trash
But I am my father's daughter, so maybe I could fix him
I wanna key his car, I wanna make him lunch, I wanna break his heart, then be the one to stitch it up
He's gonna love me and hate me at the same time
I told my friends you were the one after I'd known you like a month
God, love's fucking embarrassing
And I consoled you while you cried over your ex-girlfriend's new guy
I'm plannin' out my wedding with some guy I'm never marryin'
I'm givin' up, I'm givin' up but I keep comin' back for more
One phone call from you and my entire world was changed
Trust that you betrayed, confusion that still lingers
My undying love, now I hold it like a grudge
And I hear your voice every time that I think I'm not enough
And I try to be tough, but I wanna scream how could anybody do the things you did so easily?
And I say I don't care, I say that I'm fine but you know I can't let it go
It takes strength to forgive, but I don't feel strong, it takes strength to forgive, but I'm not quite sure I'm there yet
The arguments that I have won against you in my head
I fantasize about a time you're a little fucking sorry
You built me up to watch me fall
I started to skip lunch, stopped eatin' cake on birthdays
There's always something in the mirror that I think looks wrong
When pretty isn't pretty enough, what do you do?
You can win the battle but you'll never win the war, fix the things you hated and you'd still feel so insecure
It's in my phone, it's in my head, it's in the boys I bring to bed
I chased some dumb ideal my whole fucking life
And none of it matters and none of it ends, you just feel like shit over and over again
When am I gonna stop being wise beyond my years and just start being wise?
When am I gonna stop being a pretty young thing to guys?
When am I gonna stop being great for my age and just start being good?
Got your whole life ahead of you, you're only nineteen, but I fear that they already got all the best parts of me
And I'm sorry that I couldn't always be your teenage dream
Will I spend all the rest of my years wishing I could go back?
They all say that it gets better, it gets better, but what if I don't?

Astarion/take your pick
oooooo how exciting -- let's take two options here -- and rip, this will be spoiler central --
Astarion/redeemed!Dark Urge
this shit feels like how the game was meant to be played. I mean first of all just on pure amount of content, the Astarion romance blows everyone else out of the water, and the integration with a durge who's trying to get his shit together is suPREMEly good. It's fine I guess when you're just doing murdelation blood blah status, but the additional effort caused by just trying to get control of yourself is fascinating, especially when Astarion is clearly watching and going, hmm.
You can play a redemption however you want -- really trying to push into Good alignment, just trying to be neutrally in control of yourself, still flat-out a shithead but you don't want to be a shithead for daddy anymore, whatever -- but my favorite is a guy who's just trying to put one foot in front of the other, and looks at his worst blood-black impulses and goes okay, well not THAT obviously, so let's try to do the opposite. Contrary to some players' belief, it is SO easy to get Astarion to 100% loveydove romance while still being A Good Guy; you just have to not be an idiot, lol. Durge choosing to listen and having the wis/cha/int score to see through Astarion's bluster and see what he's actually saying is such a gift; Astarion carefully watching Durge not be as untrustworthy as he assumed literally everyone was, and thinking maybe I could... -- girl, that shit is catnip. Yum.
I also have a boner for the way that Astarion comes from this terrifying torture background and Durge is a terrifying torturer and could probably detail everything that Cazador did to him and make it worse -- but he's choosing not to, and it is an active and daily choice. Fits so nicely with Astarion being, yeah, a moderately amoral vampire, but he can watch that and go 'well, maybe I don't need to... be the worst version of myself...' Not that he turns into a paladin or some shit like that, but by the time you get to him in the ritual and you have to explain to him in baby steps that 'yo idiot, if you turn into supervamp you'll be Cazador but worse' -- seriously, it's like he never pays attention to literary tropes -- it's sOOO satisfying when he believes you, and backs off, and then when it's your turn to defy Bhaal it's like -- hell yes, not echoing the mistakes of our fathers! Freedom! And then they have like lots of sex about it or whatever. (I like the 'go to the Underdark with the spawn' ending; presumably we have a little vamp castle where boinking occurs.)
but to take it a different direction, a quick jaunt into:
Ascended!Astarion/Dark Justiciar!Shadowheart
and the reason I like this is that playing as the Origin characters fucking suuuuucks because they get ripped down blandly into the version of themselves who could react like a boring blank-slate Tav, because "player freedom is so important" [rolls eyes, jerking off motion]. More than that, though, they aren't allowed to really go through their own journeys, because no one listens to them. The job of the PC is to fix everyone else's personal sidequests -- none of the friends give a shit about your own. (Tav doesn't even have a problem, it's hysterical. At least Durge has something going on people pay attention to.)
so with that said, Astarion has no one to genuinely dissuade him against Ascending. I mean, Gale and Lae'zel aren't exactly for it, but none of them actually listen and talk him through the thought process the way a real PC can. So what's to stop him from Ascending? It's the obvious best option.
and then, relatedly, if you have a scared almost-feral Astarion who's desperate to get power however he can -- if he discovers that his hot cleric friend is a cleric of Shar, and she can do some hella dangerous shit and become an even stronger bodyguard? Uh, yes please. What does he care if the world rolls to darkness? He's got darkness plans of his own. And poor Shart then has no one actually giving a shit about her own problems -- why would a still-evil-track Astarion coach her into not sucking? They can be cunty wine drinkers together, never actually learning lessons and spiraling down into shitholery together. Does Astarion actually want to fuck her? What does it matter. They'll rule Baldur's Gate above and below. The fight can come later.
anyway, origin characters making each other worse is fascinating and also hysterical. shithead4shithead, amen.
#answers#friday night wine party#now i need to make beds#but seriously: have you played as an origin?#fuck it's sad#no one gives a damn about you#at least when you play as wyll origin that's just canon heyoooo

David x Lycan Reader Part 7
On y/n way to the Nordic Coven in Norway, y/n stopped by some towns to find things y/n needed. Y/n had a couple of thoughts on what the creature was. Y/n as seen many mythical creatures, like fairies and dragons, as well as mages.
Y/n mother was killed by a mage, y/n was rescued by that mage, her name was Chise. She had a familiar, a black dog or church grim called Ruth, she lived in a small cottage with her husband Elias, he is also a mage. Chise had raised y/n for a bit then she was killed in her cottage by the vampires. Ruth died as soon as Chise died, Elias tried to fight off the vampires, but he was also killed.
The vampires had Elise in the cottage with his wife and friend, then they burned the cottage down. Y/n watched in the distance as everyone who cared for y/n died. Y/n was only 6 years old; you were 4 when Chise took y/n in. Y/n had a feeling it was a black dog like Ruth.
Y/n had looked in a couple of towns and y/n didn't find the book y/n needed.
Y/n was very young when Chise took y/n in.
She never really told y/n to much about mages. But she did explain to y/n about some mythical creatures. A book with all the mythical creatures and how to befriend and make them familiars. Y/n looked at the town that was near the Nordic Coven. Y/n walked a bit then y/n found the bookstore. Y/n opened the door and saw many old books, y/n then spot an old lady on a chair.
Y/n walked over to her; y/n saw she was pale. Y/n touched her, and she was ice cold. Y/n listened for a heartbeat but didn't hear anything. Y/n left the old lady there, y/n begins walking around. Y/n then spots it in a glass case, with other books about mages.
Y/n breaks the case and y/n takes all two books.
Y/n puts the in your bag, y/n then spots a blanket. You take it and walk to the old lady, y/n places it on her. Y/n then walks out, y/n looks up and sees a bit of snow fall. Y/n smells the air, "a storm is coming" you begin walking to the Nordic Coven castle, y/n wanted to get there before the storm. Y/n sees the castle across the lake, y/n begins digging.
Y/n made a huge tunnel in the ground. Y/n can walk through the tunnels without worry of y/n heading your head on the ceiling.
Y/n went all the way to the back of the tunnel, y/n took of your bag and y/n pulls out a lantern. Y/n lights it and places it on the ground. You then take out the books, y/n puts you back to the tunnel wall, y/n has eyes on the entrance.
Y/n opens the book about mythical creatures, y/n flips through the pages until y/n arrived at the page with a picture of a black dog. Y/n starts to read out loud about the black dog.
"Also known as a Black Grim, a Church Grim is a pure black dog that resides near a church or a grave. It is possible that a normal dog can be become a Church Grim. Usually, they are only dogs, in most regional folklore, the "black dog" is an omen of death and malice. Black Grim are a type of fae that were once hounds, who once served a Goddess of Death. They are likely born from hounds that die within graveyards, awakening as fae with the duty of protecting the dead and driving away those that would defile their place such as grave robbers and evil spirits".
Y/n flips the page and y/n sees the abilities and skills the black dog possesses. Y/n then reads out loud again.
"It can travel through shadows, also it can breathe fire".
Y/n also sees that some black dogs can shift into humans. Y/n closes the book, y/n well have to find a church or a grave. Y/n can hear the wind howling outside, y/n places the book in the backpack. Then y/n gets up and heads outside. You always loved the cold, the place y/n was born, winter was year-round.
Y/n doesn't feel the snow hitting y/n face, the wind is unforgiving, blowing trees roughly. Your eyes glow into the dark, y/n looks around and you see nothing lurking in the snowstorm. Y/n begins walking around the Nordic Coven castle, but y/n didn't see a church or an old grave.
You didn't even see remains of a church or grave. Y/n did a couple more sweeps of the area to try to find a grave or church, y/n even dug a few holes to see if y/n could smell a grave. Y/n sees the sun beginning to slowly rise, the snowstorm slowly letting up, you couldn't find any trace of a grave or church. Y/n was walking back to y/n tunnel when you hear something. The wind sudden stops and so does the snow, nothing but silence fell the chill air. You then hear it gain.
"Y/n", it is Eve, y/n walks to the sound of her voice.
Y/n sees her standing in front of the frozen lake, she is looking at the castle beyond the lake. Eve then turns around and looks at y/n. She smiles at you, "what are you doing out here, Eve", "I wanted to help you".
Y/n nods, Eve walks over to y/n, "I couldn't find anything", "what were you looking for, y/n". "A grave or a church", "there is a grave in the Nordic Coven. I will show you!" Eve grabs y/n hand but y/n doesn't move.
"I am not allowed to enter the Coven, Eve", she let's go of y/n hand and looks at y/n with a sad expression.
"Why?", "can you check for me Eve, see if you find anything out of the ordinary there". "Ok", "I will be waiting in the middle of the lake". Y/n and Eve make their way to the Nordic Coven castle, you are both walking side by side. Eve then begins speaking "he miss you", Eve looks at y/n.
She stares a bit at y/n, you don't look at her, y/n keeps your eyes forward and on the castle. Y/n stops in the middle of the lake, Eve stops and looks to y/n. "I will be back", y/n nods at her and Eve begins walking into the castle. Y/n sees Selene and Micheal talking to her then they all look at y/n.
