@manybcdthings roxy x hunter - the castle
-
Roxy isn't sure what the protocol is when it comes to vampire vs wolf training sessions, but she also doesn't care. She interrupts a small group of blood-slurpers, pointing out the largest one as her opponent. It's a short lived match, as years worth of anger can erupt from Roxy in seconds especially against a vampire. She lets all the memories of her lost pack members release to the forefront of her mind, the blame she carries for their deaths. The years that followed of feeling lost in her own pack because of it. All of it is unleashed against the vampire, the fight ending in a spectacular display of her over it's listless body. She leans up to swipe her own blood from her face, smearing it into her hair as she spots a certain wolf who joined the others in watching. "Hunter!" Roxy greets him a smile, perking up as if it's a crisp and easy Sunday morning. She moves from the vampire, beginning to roll the giant towards the edge of the ring. "He said he knew you. What's that about? You being a good lil pup and making friends with our neighbors? That doesn't sound like you." she asks and teases all at once, waving for Hunter to join her. "Uppies. Your turn." she offers him a hand that she knows he doesn't need into the ring.

London playlist
London - since 43 AD it has to be one of the more fascinating cities on Earth. Such a rich history. From Shakespeare Theatre to the music from there today. I just had to put a London playlist together. From Soho to Brixton, from Highgate to Clapham what a collection of songs! It’s over 350 songs and it could easily expand to 400. **I have a separate England & Wales playlist coming, so, stay tuned for that**.
To play the songs, hit the link right here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-iHPcxymC1_ntP663JhZl-hvn9EwFp9L

"Maybe you're all backwards. Either way, if something doesn't fit, it doesn't fit." she mentions carelessly, as if a wolf's entire belonging isn't in question. There's a wry grin over her features, a little curiousness as to why he's talking about this. Roxy is well aware she isn't the friend to ask life advise from, and more fool the people who do. She can see the apprehension in the way he carries himself, a far cry from the wolf she used to know but even that doesn't stir much concern from Roxy. It's a war. Straighten your shoulders, stiffen that upper lip. Words she's certain she's heard Hunter say himself. "Are we gonna fall out?" she pouts then, flicking his arm. "Because right now, I don't know who the fuck this is." They're not so much words of encouragement but she's happy for him to take them as such. A mean spirited laugh emits, her eyes gaze darkening like their usual voids. "Let's not start talking about what you want this mouth to do, Hunter. Always a conversation that disappoints you." even battered and bruised, Roxy's eyes scan for something next. Something else. A constant going that can never stop for a second. "Wanna find some whiskey and numb those wounds?"
"Jesus, you're full of jokes today." he huffed and if Hunter had an ounce of self awareness, he would realize that taking life advise from Roxanna Rose was not a smart decision. However, they had often seen eye to eye over the years. There were many pin points of time across the map of his life where he could have listened to Roxy or not, and this was one of them. "I don't hate how he does things, that ain't the problem. I jus' think it's all backwards." he admitted in a stressed tone, shooting a look to Roxy and noticing quickly that she didn't care. Which was just as well. It had been a long time since he heard words of encouragement, or at least in the recent weeks. Every turning felt as if he was running head first into consequences, that every other word on the tip of people's tongues was something he could do differently, change. But, Hunter wasn't about to admit the trials he could feel looming overhead, sniffing and straightening his posture as they walked after realizing he had slouched for God knows how long. "Yeah, thanks I guess." he grumbled, as if he wasn't as appreciative for Roxy's words as he truly was. "You're lucky I known y'for so long, Rox 'cause sometimes that God damn mouth you got is fuckin' annoying."

"Obviously. If you ever had an epiphany, your big ol' head would explode." she teases with good nature because after all, he's a friend. But, Roxy has always had a skewed sense of what that means. As much as she's willing to fight alongside the Crosses, it doesn't mean she's willing to hear a story about the happenings of their pack. Maybe from jealousy of a lack of her own, or maybe her survival mode has crept into the realm of selfishness. So, as he mentions Wolf, Roxy only nods. "You're not the first wolf to hate how an alpha does things, Hunter. That's why packs shift and change numbers, why alpha's get overthrown. It's life." she shrugs dismissively, letting out a slight laugh at his sarcastic suggestion. "Listen, I like Wolf. He's great. Funny. Smart. He's kinda like the blueprint of what you guys could've been in another life, you know? But the fact is, it's not that life. It's this life. So, sounds like you got a tinsy problem that no offence, is your problem. I'm not saying shit to him." she remarks casually, glancing to Hunter with a grin. "You know the answer to that. I wasn't trying to be funny, anyways. I was proving a point. Wolves like you survive. It's not rocket science. So maybe stop being a little bitch about fighting a few vampires...that's not you."
Hunter has never disagreed with Roxy, he can't even recall a time where he thought she deserved the treatment she received from the other Rose wolves either. Which made him easily susceptible to her words. "I ain't on some spiritual journey." he quipped to her, huffing out a stressed sigh because just the thought of his current standing in his own pack was enough to raise his blood pressure. "Wolf is doin' his Wolf shit and I gotta step up." he added in a grumble, not one to talk too openly about his struggles or to even word them as such. Not even to someone who'd understand and not even to a friend like Roxy. Her reaction to his outburst caused a blink of eyes from Hunter, his expression slowly fading from his stern look when he realized what she was saying to him. He watched her as she walked ahead, mumbling under his breath. "I don't think what you're sayin' is stupid but try talkin' to Wolf, huh?" he sighed, moving again to catch up with her. "That weren't funny though, Rox." Hunter added, waving a hand to behind them. "I was this close to snappin' at you, you never get tired messin' around with people?"

She flashes a shit-eating grin at his words, if only for a second while they happily but slowly create more distance between themselves and the castle. Roxy takes a hesitant glance over her shoulder in case any vampires have twitched awake, moving her attention to Hunter with a stern gaze at his claim. "What's different!?" she remarks in an outburst of surprise and a quick laugh. "We're in the middle of a war, now's not the time for a spiritual journey." Roxy scoffs, disbelieving for one second that Hunter could change even if he wanted to. And something tells her he doesn't quite want to. When he snaps, she grins. She lets him reel off the warning and the obvious threat underneath his tone, just blinking at him in a calmness. Then, her finger raises and she prods his shoulder. "There you go." she sighs. "That was you handling shit. Told you. It's just who you are. It's what you're good at." Roxy adds with a smugness, moving away from Hunter to continue on as she waves her hand. "No point fixing something that isn't broken, Hunter. You're not a well-behaved wolf, that's why we get along." she adds, shooting a look over her shoulder to him. "Changing is upsetting the balance of nature."
"Real fuckin' funny." Hunter deadpanned to her joke, not even a twitch of a smile because he was more surprised he even had a face left after the chaos with the vampires. Again. Hunter, however, was an easily swayed man if he was told things he wanted to hear. Roxy's words stirred his thoughts for a moment, a strange sense of pride washing over him. He did have strengths, and when the Crosses were led by Jeffrey, he was one of the strongest there. And now, he was threatened with abandonment for being the very man he was raised to be. "Shit's different now." he mumbled again because within the same instant, he knew his actions would impact Elliot and Isla. And all Hunter wanted was to see his brother be the father he desperately needed to be. He could only keep his cool for a few more moments, Roxy's words going from something he listened to and considered to blocking out within the same second. There was no warning, Hunter snapped. "What the fuck are you doin'? I ain't ever had a problem with your crazy ass, other than it fuckin' annoys me but what the fuck?" he raised his voice, turning to Roxy and having half the mind to take hold of her and shake her. "We got wolves in there! I swear to God if lil El or Isla ask you about that shit, you better shut your god damn mouth. You hear me, Rox? Don't make me fuckin' hate you. It's gettin' close."

"No but if you're suddenly in the business of stopping fights, I'd say you're heading that way. Maybe on my next run out I can look for a little tea party set for you." she mimics sipping from a delicate teacup, an obnoxious slurp as she pops her pinky. Roxy also scoffs at his declaration of not causin' shit, chuckling at his accent as well as his words. "Well, you didn't do such a good job back there. Think it's best people stick to their strengths, Hunter Cross. And yours has always been starting shit, or handling it. Neither of those are bad things." she shrugs, assuming her advice is helpful rather than detrimental. It's not as if Roxy has ever considered that people would want to improve, not when her life has always followed a significant decline. One she chooses to embrace instead of fight. When Hunter snaps at her, Roxy's eyes cross to look at the finger he waves in her face. A sudden surprise at the outburst but she also follows after him. "I didn't ask for a medal, asshole. How was I supposed to know that's a touchy subject?" she scoffs at him. "But fine, I won't talk about the pokey needles or the constant wolfsbane." she snickers. "The lack of food, the silver. Bloods, more bloods. Random beatings for no reason. I won't say a word."
Hunter could only shrug at Roxy's observation, laughing slightly because he knew he wasn't exactly known for making friends. And the Cross pack weren't exactly known previously as the most welcoming. Even if Wolf was trying to change it...things stuck. At least, they did for Hunter. "You expectin' to hear how we're sittin' down for tea with everyone?" he laughed dryly. He wasn't sure if Roxy's following words were a joke, Hunter eyeing her closely and then down at his own attire as if the attempted changes were physically altering him. "Ain't tryin' to do anythin' but stop causing shit." he mumbled, because he had to think about the bigger picture for the first time in his life. A safe place for the rest of the pack, his baby brother finding his daughter. The mention of a facility made him instantly close down, another harsh stare in her direction as he pointed at her and began to peel away into the opposite direction. "That." he warned, "We ain't talkin' about that. I don't wanna know." Hunter stated it like the law, unwilling and unable to hear about the things happening within the facilities. "You want a fuckin' medal? Go out there and find one."

"If that happens, which it won't, I'd be a revered hero." Roxy laughs, circling her finger before she flicks Hunter's nose. "I hear about how you Crosses still aren't making many friends here in Hollow Cove." between the scathing looks from Visser wolves and Vaismans, Roxy assumes the Crosses are exactly how they've always been. Ignoring the splitting pain through her skull while they trail away from the castle, her pace quickens and she chuckles. "Well yeah, of course you do. Are you trying to be a changed man or something?" she answers him, giving him a suspicious glance from head to toe. "No offence but it doesn't suit you." Roxy scoffs, having a particular distaste towards the word crazy or any varation of it, even more so when it's directed to her. Defensively, Roxy stops her tracks and turns to Hunter with her arms crossed over her middle. "I'd like to see you last a few months in one of those big-boy prisons and come out the other side. I don't think you got it in you."
"That ain't the point." Hunter grumbled, fully aware that Ryan was capable even against Jack's formidable demeanor. But, the Crosses stuck together and now he had even more of a reason to find Roxy irritating. Although, there had always been a grating aura to the Rose wolf. Hunter was able to ignore it, first for the obvious reasons, but second because of her own capability. "No but one of these days, you're gonna drag me into your shit and you'll be damn responsible for me keelin' over." he pointed at her, agitated but happier they were finally putting space between themselves and the vampires. Hunter continued to check the blood trickling from his head and nose, scoffing slightly at the accusation. But, then he groaned because she was right. Roxy had managed to catch him through a particular strange streak of his life. "I keep gettin' in shit." he grumbled, disgruntled by his own behavior. Both the bad and the attempt at being good were annoying him. "Maybe you just got crazier since the last time I saw you, didn't even think that was possible."

"He didn't look like he needed any help!" Roxy protests because she sometimes forgets one tiny detail. Even packs that are similar to the Rose wolves, as brutal as them, as violent...she forgets that other packs have a care towards one another. It reminds her how much she misses that feeling, and in turn brings forth her prickly demeanor. Roxy ignores Hunter from then on, and also ignores the slight stirring of the vampires as they reanimate. She's more interested in plucking cigarette packets from their pockets before Hunter's final yell resounds. It makes her flop her head in a groan. "I heard you the first time! Jeez, Hunter. One of these days, you're gonna pop a blood vessel. End up like the King, just keeled over while you're pooping." she retaliates, falling into step beside him and ensuring her boots stomp heavily to make her annoyance known. "You used to be fun, what happened?" Roxy has to ask him, because she has faint memories of Hunter and her chaos working rather well together. Or, in the very least, he used to seem much more welcoming of it. "That was tame and you know it."
Hunter wanted to say that a training room wasn't an excuse for insane violence, but he caught himself sounding a bit too much like Wolf. For whatever reason, Roxy always brought it out in him. There was violence and then there was whatever the fuck she did. Chaos. It seemed like much more than his own. Or maybe it was a taste of his own medicine that he was too blind to take any notice of. Hunter had to blink at the other wolf, a long pause happening between Roxy's words and the time he finally answered. Because the mention of his brother and Jack automatically stirred Hunter's head into a tilt, as if he had misheard. Everything else she said may as well have been white noise. "You're tellin' me...I was in here...helping your crazy ass when I coulda been helpin' my brother?" Hunter quizzed, no longer shouting but still sitting firmly in his sternness. He took one look at the fallen vampires, one or two light twitches from their fingers which gave Hunter the only information he needed. "I ain't waitin' here for god damn round two, and if you got a death wish then be my guest, Rox. I ain't helpin' you." he pointed, pushing around her to make his leave. He was half expecting her to follow. "Every god damn time I'm within five feet a'you, there's somethin'." he grumbled, turning to see that she hadn't moved an inch. "Rox! Come on, let's go."

The thrill of the fight resumes and Roxy gains a second wind, delighted by the sight of Hunter finding his groove. Even if she considers it to be a little unenthusiastic. In the midst of throws and punches, Roxy fights the best she can. She's knocked down but she's up again, she's launched through the air but she lands on her feet. Every second of it is sheer euphoria, even when she's grappled to the ground and can feel nothing but knuckles plummeting against her nose. Roxanna Rose has always felt everything, but there's nothing that she welcomes more than pain. She's breathless by the time Hunter helps her, sitting up in a huff as she watches him shout. She can't help it, but as she smears away the blood gushing from her nose and mouth, she begins to laugh. Just a light chuckle at first, mainly because she notices the vein in his forehead whenever he's yelling. "What's the point in a training room if no one lets loose? No one out there is gonna go easy on anyone." Roxy answers in the simplest of tones, groaning as Hunter pulls her to her feet. "The wolfy one was all full. Ryan looked like he was gonna rip someone's face off. You know the real grumpy one? I don't know his name. Wait, I do. Jack." she rambles for a moment, unable to fight her grin away as Hunter's own grumpiness continues. "You're still mad about that? It was years ago. And they had really good tequila, they must've got it imported."
Hunter tried to not dwell on the fact that his last two fights had been less than impressive. He blamed a lot of it on the giant vampire, considering he was a common denominator. However, there wasn't much time to dwell at all. Between fighting off two vampires and attempting to stop the giant one breaking his neck, Hunter had his hands full. He threw as many punches as he could, wrestled as hard as he could and Roxy's manic laughter the other side of the room made him feel like he was going insane with her. While trying to pry the vampire's giant hands from his throat, Hunter had to do a double take at the bright blue eyes peering from over it's shoulder. "Are you...are you tryin' to fuckin' talk to me right now!?" he yelled in disbelief, croaking from the tight grip which only relented once Roxy finally snapped the vampire's neck. Hunter gasped coarsely, no time to truly catch his breath as the two of them still had more to get through. Hunter's impatience with the whole ordeal is what drove his anger. His sheer will to get the fight over with, his annoyance melting into his rage quickly and he finally fought like he was trained to. In comparison to the giant, the four remaining vampires were easy work. It wasn't until the last one was down, Hunter plucking it away from it's struggle with Roxy to break it's neck, that he could actually voice his frustrations. "That was the dumbest fuckin' thing you ever done, you know that!?" he shouted to her, clutching his bleeding face and studying the blood pooling over his palm for a second. "Five against two, in what fuckin' world is that a good idea, Rox?" and while Hunter's anger at her was genuine and unrestrained, he still grabbed her arm to help her to her feet. "Last time you almost got us killed because the damn drinkin' spot you liked was a fuckin' coven owned bar. What's wrong with you!?"

"It's just training, Hunter!" Roxy bellows, as the haze of a fight is her favorite place to be. She thought it was a Cross' too. Every punch, hit and kick exchanged between Roxy and the vampires feels like heaven. Each snap, crack and break of either her bones or theirs brings forth manic laughter. She can feel a gush of blood from her nose, her lip split but it doesn't do much to deter her. Even Hunter's shout makes her laugh, Roxy taking her eye away from her own opponents to see him struggling with a giant one. "That's a rude way to ask for help." she teases in return but then is knocked back by a brutal punch thanks to her her distraction. This time she doesn't laugh, she groans in frustration through pain and grit teeth. A noise of her fury building it's stamina before it rips into a scream and she attacks at her full strength. The first vampire she can grab is used to throw into the other, both of them hurtled backwards towards the wall in a crash. Only then does she rush to help a Cross, the thought alone making her break out into laughter as she latches to the giant vampire and peers over his shoulder to Hunter. "Okay, update." just her eyes peek from behind the vampire to the wolf. "I didn't break their necks so help me break this guy's then it's back to two and two." she addresses Hunter even with the giant vampire still throttling him and hearing her plan. Roxy's intense gaze shifts to the blood-sucker, giving a soft little kiss to his cheek before she clambers around him tighter. Thrashing, yelling, twisting until there's a satisfied crack. "Are you getting old or something?" she huffs to Hunter, despite the fact he was being strangled half to death to be much help.
Roxy's quips were always a little too fast for Hunter, and the small shock value of them didn't help either. "I'm just sayin', a room full'a vamps usually means we gotta go." he spoke from experience because he certainly wasn't forgetting the bar any time soon, and neither was the rest of the town. All Hunter could do was watch as Roxy did what she did best, ignore any reason. There was a tiny flicker of a thought. Is this how people feel with me? But it was gone in an instant before Hunter could reflect because the room erupted into the expected chaos. "God dammit, Roxy!" he yelled, but that was as much attention as he could give to the Rose wolf. He had two vampires rushing him and Hunter had no time but to spring into action. It was reminsent of the bar all over again, flying punches, shouts of fury and that disgusting hissing noise the vampires emitted. He could feel his nose break...again and just when he thought he floored one he saw the giant's body twitching back into life near the ring. "You think!?" Hunter shouted back to Roxy, deciding to leap onto the giant before it got to it's feet and wrestle with it while the other two were back again, Hunter now descending into a three against one. "Roxy, break one of their necks and get the fuck over here!"

"Don't be scared, I'll be gentle." she insists with a lie and quickly catches where Hunter moves his glance to. Roxy's follows, surveying the remaining vampires and suddenly reading the tension in the room that she was previously blind to. But, she doesn't heed Hunter's warning. Of course she doesn't. "Don't go soft on me now, Hunter. That can really make a woman feel undesirable." Roxy falls into laughter, addressing the vampires next. "Well, come on then. Only place in this dumb town we're allowed to fight. It's all good fun." she encourages, and that's all it takes for the whole room to ignite. Roxy, as always, the one to strike the match and drop it. She can see two of the vampires rushing to Hunter but her attention darts to the two sprinting towards her. In a howl of laughter she accepts the impact, embracing the way she's thrown to the wall before dropping to the ground in a heavy thud. "Ow-ah!" Roxy exclaims, scrambling to her feet and grappling the closest vampire into a headlock. She uses him as leverage to boot the other with both of her feet and the impact sends both her and the other vampire falling backwards in the same motion. And, she's laughing again until the vampire manages to send her away from him in a harsh push. Roxy's back meets the wall, watching as she's cornered by the same two vampires closing in quickly. "We might be a little bit outnumbered now that I think about it!" she shouts to Hunter, not too sure how he's coping with his two.
There were several thoughts going through Hunter's mind when he neared the training grounds. First, where was Ryan? Second, what the fuck was that sound? He only got one of the questions answered, following the noise of the fight to catch the display. He clocked that it was a room full of vampires and only two wolves, one of which was argued as clinically insane. At first, he was impressed until he quickly realized how easy she made it look to floor the same giant that had him strung by his neck at the bar. Hunter coughed awkwardly and was hesitant to respond, eyes straining on the vampires that were showing clear signs of agitation. Clear signs of attacking. Great. He really was trying to listen to Wolf. "Dun know him." Hunter answered in a grumble while not looking to her. Then he was approaching the ring just in time to hear uppies. He scoffed out a laugh, head tilting at her. "Shut up, I ain't gonna fight ya." he waved a hand and tried to catch Roxy's eyes with his own gaze so he could make a shifting glance to the vampires. "I think we need to go." He really was trying. "Kinda...now."
