hiii i was wondering— how do you think the edenau men (and or reader if you feel like adding that ?) would react if someone tried to hit on their partner at a party or something like that 🫣
gojo:
touchy slides right in between her and the guy makes convo with the guy, like oh how was the game? yeah you were pretty cool the guy gets distracted with talking to THE gojo and forgets all about reader crisis averted
reader:
does the 'are you serious?' face rolls her eyes and all she has to do is walk away for gojo to chase after her not an issue at all
geto:
stands behind reader all imposing smiling that creepy, fake ass smile until they feel unnerved and leave doesn't say a thing to reader
reader:
she's kinda used to it because they get a lot of clients who hit on Suguru and he's charming, it's his thing it kinda bothers her but never too much since he always finds a way to politely get out of it and return to her side
choso:
pouts in the corner waits impatiently for her to stop talking to the guy if guy gets touchy, he'll go over and stare at the guy with his bored look until the guy gets nervous and feels awkward and leaves then he smiles at reader like nothing ever happened
reader:
not really the jealous type she knows how obsessed choso is with her so she just minds her own business and lets him get hit on unless of course they're being aggressive and he's really uncomfortable then she skips over to him, gives him a big wet kiss and says, cho! I'm horny, let's go fuck in your car works all the time
toji:
goes in there all macho he'll intimidate the guy, "oh hey, if it isn't *insert guy name*, you feeling alright? you had quite the embarrassing moment the other night, didn't ya? missed the fucking shot and slipped on your ass. man, if I were you, I'd just kill myself instead of hitting on someone else's girl" guy gets embarrassed and leaves, you don't want to piss off the campus big shot
reader:
it's a big issue with these two since she's pretty invisible and he's really popular, it happens all the time especially because people don't think they're serious or something she goes up to toji's side, introduces herself and often gets ignored toji gets aggressive with the girl hitting on him, wrapping his arm around her and says, 'don't be rude, yeah? my girl says hi, so say hi back'
nanami:
trusts reader she gets hit on all the time and she does the thing where she starts gushing about her BOYFRIEND, her BOYFRIEND is so amazing, her BOYFRIEND is so sweet etc but if the guy is pushy and she's very clearly feeling awkward then he steps up, puts a hand on her back and excuses them that usually works unless the guy gets aggressive, in which case he's not afraid to use his secret nerd muscles to deflect and get him on his ass
reader:
lays it on thick hugs him, presses her tits right up makes nanami flustered with the things she whispers in his ear until it becomes abundantly clear that nanami only cares about his gf if the huge boner he has is anything to go by becomes very awkward for the third person and they excuse themselves, not that these two notice
sukuna:
no one dares lol even if they don't know she's with him, all it takes is one sharp glare and they get the hint
reader:
sukuna sometimes, if they got into an argument and they're playing their games again, might encourage a little flirting but all she has to do is give him a look and then he's rolling his eyes and telling the girl to fuck off

chapter eight when some clout chaser claims to be the mystery girl in the photo, Hiori shuts down the rumors and teases about the girl who truly has his heart blue lock longfic series pairing hiori yo x reader contains fluff, post blue lock timeskip, afab!reader masterlist
The speculations about Hiori’s mystery girl are definitely one of the highlights of his career.
Ironically, he finds it funny how people react to it. He’s already been scolded by both the team manager and the marketing manager, each lecturing him about how careless he’s been. It’s not like there’s anything inherently wrong with dating, especially as an athlete. Though it seems like he was scolded for not giving them a heads up and keeping it a secret.
His parents, on the other hand, are pretty much predictable. His dad stays quiet about these sorts of things, but his mom? She makes it a huge deal. Despite their issues, she still showers him with love and attention in her own overbearing, only-child-parent way. She’s adamant that he’s been hiding the girl from her because he’s embarrassed or something.
Not to mention, his friends and teammates. His Bastard Munchen teammates—not exactly the epitome of calm, cool and connectedness as how they would look.
The moment he arrived into a field for training, Isagi sprints at him at high speed, like golden retriever finally seeing its best friend. Igaguri and Raichi moan about how unfair it is for Hiori to get a girlfriend before them. The older members, Geisner, Bachs and even Ndiaye praised him as if he scored a goal.
Even Noa himself gives him an approving nod, “at least we know you’re normal-er than the rest of these football heads.”
Again, a wild reaction from everyone.
Sure, he’s not the only eligible bachelor in the field, nay, in his team who have been elusive or secretive about their relationships. But sports gossip writers love to eat up news like this. Like vultures circling around a carcass, the media (even fans) are waiting to pounce on him any moment.
“Who’s the girl you were caught kissing at the JFA party?”
“Do you finally have a girlfriend?”
“Is your girlfriend a celebrity?”
It’s the same old question every single time. And for Hiori, it gets tiring. He should be answering questions about the game, the team’s performance and plans ahead this season. People are too hung up on who’s his “flavor of the month”, as if he’s Oliver freaking Aiku.
But he knows how to play the game. It’s just like playing a visual novel. His answers already predetermined, all of them would either deflect or shut down the whole topic all together.
“I have no idea what yer talkin’ about.”
“Are ya sure that’s me? Doesn’t look like me?”
“Looks edited though, don’tcha think?”
Like he promised you, he won’t disclose anything to the media or anyone else. Not that he’s the type to kiss and tell. But he won’t confirm or deny it either. He finds it fun to watch people squirm, teetering on the edge of curiosity and frustration.
Plus, he values his privacy. That’s how it’s always been, and it’s how it always will be.
Still, beneath his calm demeanor, Hiori worries he might fumble this. He likes you—really likes you. Enough to avoid making mistakes that might scare you off.
Fine, he likes you a lot. More than he thinks you even realize.
In the months before you started dating, he found himself looking forward to every conversation with you, whether it was online or during work. He’d take whatever crumbs he could get, so to speak.
That’s why he got so frustrated when you started showing up way less for interviews. He understood it was just part of your job, something entirely out of his control. But when you got reassigned to other teams, it did threaten him.
You were a natural at what you did—fun, easygoing, and effortlessly charming. No wonder he felt at ease with you from the get go. So it was just a matter of time till others saw you the way he did.
Athletes like them are human after all.
When Nagi—and, surprisingly, Reo—tried to squeeze into the picture, that did it for him. He hated how it felt, the simmering jealousy that crept in every time he saw them be all chummy with you. No amount of goals scored against Manshine City could ease the sinking feeling of losing you to one of them. Or, worse, both of them.
Hiori never thought of himself as the jealous type. But now he knows better. He despises the feeling. The tightness in his chest, the restless nights replaying imagined scenarios. Yet, there’s also a quiet satisfaction now. You chose him.
Not publicly known, not splashed across headlines. But still, you’re his. If he gets jealous, he knows he’s not overreacting.
“I know who she is!” Isagi sing-songs, jogging over to the bench.
Hiori offers him a water bottle, cocking an eyebrow. “Whatcha mean?”
Isagi displays a shit eating grin, practically glowing with mischief. “I know who the girl is. Ness knows, too.”
Ness, approaching from behind, offers a polite smile—a polite smile that makes Hiori’s stomach drop.
“Nah, ya don’t,” Hiori says, chuckling nervously.
“We do,” Isagi insists.
“Ya don’t,” Hiori repeats.
“Well, we do,” Ness interjects smoothly. “Reo told us about how you cockblocked him and Nagi at the party.”
Hiori freezes, sweat beading on his forehead. “What?”
“You guys weren’t exactly subtle when you bailed,” Isagi adds, his shit-eating grin growing wider. “Miss Journalist seems to be really into y—what the hell, Hiori!”
A towel smacks Isagi square in the face. “Shaddap!” Hiori hisses, putting a finger to his lips.
Ness snickers, and Isagi pulls the towel off, laughing. “Alright, fine, ya got me. But can ya two keep it down? We just started dating,” Hiori mutters, massaging his temples.
“Relax, I’m not gonna spill,” Ness says with a wave of his hand but he gives a small smile, amused by Hiori’s reactions.
“Gotcha,” Isagi says, mock-saluting. “But, man, I didn’t know you had that kind of ‘HioRizz.’”
Hiori groans, glaring at Isagi. “I swear to God, if ya don’t shut up, I’ll leave ya out of every pass next game.”
Ness bursts out laughing. “Don’t worry, Isagi. I’ll pass to you.”
“Hiori has more rizz than Yukimiya! I should take notes!” Isagi jokes, only for Hiori to smack him on the arm before chasing him down the field.
Despite the chaos, Hiori can’t help but feel a warm sense of pride. These guys might be loud and annoying, but they’re also the ones he trusts most. And in a way, it feels nice to share this secret with them—a small piece of his happiness.
Because you’re his. And he’s yours. And to Hiori, that means everything.
“So… you’re telling me this is you?” Your roommate, Miko, thrusts her phone in your direction, her finger pointing dramatically at the paparazzi photo of you and Hiori plastered on her screen.
It’s only been a week since the photo started making rounds online, but you’ve been caught staring at it one too many times by Miko, your eagle-eyed, ever-curious roommate. Today, you finally caved. The whirlwind of emotions bubbling inside was too much to handle alone.
And now, you just had to tell her because things are driving you crazy at this point.
“Yup.” The two of you are sitting side by side on the couch. She grills you with her own paparazzi-like questions while you sink in further the couch, the unfinished article on the laptop you’ve been drafting long forgotten at this point.
Miko squints at you, her head tilting as she studies the image like a detective analyzing evidence. Her brow furrows, and then, as if struck by a sudden epiphany, she gasps.
She springs up from her seat, pointing at your face accusingly. “Aha! Is this the guy you—" she gestures vaguely but suggestively with her hand, “—you know, slept with after that work party?”
“Yes, it’s him. No, we didn’t ‘sleep’ together.” You can’t help but laugh as you swat her finger away. “We shared the same bed, yes. But nothing happened.”
Miko raises an incredulous eyebrow. “Sure, sure. A pretty girl like you, and he didn’t try anything? In this economy?” She blows a dramatic raspberry and plops back against the couch, clearly unimpressed.
Your cheeks burn, recounting the night you spent with Hiori. It was intimate—sweet and wholesome in a way that still made your chest flutter when you thought about it. The kisses, his touches. It only makes you yearn for it more.
The morning after was even better. You spending a whole Saturday with him was like magic.
She idly giggles to herself as she scrolls more on her phone, probably to stalk Hiori. The girl is chronically online so her stalking (research skills as she calls it) skills are on par with yours. She could be a damn good journalist if she wants to.
“You’re such a perv, Miko,” you say, swatting her with a throw pillow.
“Says the girl who drools on this guy's sweaty photos,” she shoots back, laughing as she scrolls furiously on her phone. “Wait a minute—oh, damn. This guy’s a big deal. National team and Bastard München? He’s a whole package!”
You glance over her shoulder, smiling despite yourself. At 26, Hiori’s resume is nothing short of legendary. Back when you were just another journalist in the crowd, you’d been blown away by his talent. It was his brilliance on the field that inspired you to write that first viral article—the one that caught his eye.
Even now, it feels surreal. How did you go from admiring him from afar to… this?
“And you’re okay with not going public?” Miko asks, her tone softer this time. Her eyes flick briefly to you, filled with concern. She’s seen you through your fair share of bad relationships—flings that went nowhere and heartbreaks that left their marks.
“Yeah,” you answer, though there’s a hesitation in your voice. “Honestly, I’m kind of relieved. I don’t even want to imagine how people would react if they knew I was just… me. An ordinary nobody.”
Miko slams her phone down dramatically. “First of all, you’re not a nobody. You’re the girl who single-handedly brought Bastard München back into the spotlight. You’re the one who made everyone see their worth when they were tanking. You’re that bitch.”
You can’t help but laugh at her enthusiasm, leaning into the side hug she gives you.
“But seriously,” you admit, letting out a long sigh, “it feels unreal. Like… we’re from completely different worlds. If this got out, I don’t think I’d be ready for the fallout. People would rip me apart.”
Miko frowns but says nothing, letting you pass her your phone. Together, you scroll through the endless speculation about Hiori’s mystery girl. Post after post describes someone glamorous and unattainable—completely unlike you.
“That’s ridiculous,” Miko says, her voice dripping with disdain. But before you can reply, she suddenly gasps so loudly that you nearly drop your phone.
“What now?” you ask, startled.
She shoves her phone into your hands, her eyes wide with a mixture of disbelief and fury. On the screen is a video of a rising sports influencer, her perfectly curated appearance making her look every bit the part of someone destined for the spotlight.
The interviewer’s voice is casual, almost playful. “So, you attended the recent JFA party?”
The influencer smiles coyly, a soft, practiced laugh escaping her lips. “Oh, of course. I was there.”
You can feel the tension building as the interviewer leans in slightly, their tone dropping to something conspiratorial. “And… given your connections to Bastard München and your shared sponsor, you must know Hiori Yo?”
The influencer’s eyes sparkle, and she lets out a delighted giggle. “Well, who doesn’t know Hiori? He’s incredible—on and off the field.”
Pfft. As if she knows anything about Hiori and his brilliance.
“So… are you the girl Hiori Yo was caught kissing that night?” Your stomach twists as the interviewer delivers the bombshell, their voice taking on an almost teasing quality.
The influencer doesn’t answer immediately. Instead, she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, her fingers lingering as if to draw attention to the gesture. Then she twirls a lock of hair, her eyes flitting away from the camera for just a moment before returning with a mischievous glint.
“Well… isn’t that for everyone to wonder?” she says, her lips curving into a playful smirk. The answer is deliberately vague, but the mischievous glint in her eyes speaks volumes, leaving just enough room for everyone’s imagination to run wild.
Miko explodes. “The audacity!” she practically shouts, throwing her hands in the air. “What is wrong with her? She’s milking this for clout! And the interviewer—ugh!”
You can’t even respond. Your gaze is glued to the screen, your chest tightening with every second of the video. The influencer’s words replay in your head, her casual demeanor and sly smile feeding into the storm of doubts you’ve tried so hard to suppress.
Miko’s rant continues unabated. “She didn’t even deny it! She knows exactly what she’s doing. God, people like her make me so mad.” She paces the room, her gestures wild and exaggerated, but you barely register her words.
Your stomach churns as you scroll through the comments beneath the video.
she’s stunning—definitely Hiori’s type. this makes so much sense they’d look so good together
Each comment feels like a jab, their assumptions cutting deeper than you thought possible. The image of you and Hiori, so ordinary and imperfect in comparison, flashes in your mind.
You glance down at yourself: wearing your favorite but worn-out pajamas, the fabric soft from too many washes. Your hair is in a messy bun, a few strands rebelliously sticking out. You’re comfortable, sure, but the reflection from the phone staring back feels painfully ordinary.
The woman in the video, with her flawless hair and perfectly styled outfit, radiates a charisma that seems effortless. She looks like someone who commands attention the moment she steps into a room, someone whose beauty turns heads without trying.
Normally, you wouldn’t care about looking “normal.” Most days, you’re content in your own skin, finding beauty in your own way. But this? This moment makes you feel like just another face in the crowd. No striking features, no captivating allure. Just plain, unremarkable. And right now, “normal” feels less like a badge of self-acceptance and more like a curse.
Miko stops mid-rant when she notices the look on your face. “Hey, don’t let this get to you,” she says, her voice softening. She sits back down beside you, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “People love drama, and she’s giving it to them.”
“But what if people believe her?” you ask quietly, the vulnerability in your voice startling even yourself. “What if they think she’s better for him?”
She shakes her head firmly. “You can’t let strangers decide what’s best for him or for you. Hiori chose you, not some influencer fishing for likes. That says more than any of this nonsense ever could.”
You nod slowly, though the unease lingers. Deep down, you know she’s right. But as you hand her phone back, the thought persists: How long before the world finds out—and what happens when they do?
You spend the next weekend with Hiori at his apartment. Again.
This routine has become a comforting tradition. Every Friday after work, you and Hiori grab dinner, sharing stories about your day. By the time the last train rolls in, you’re on your way to his apartment, lugging a slightly larger backpack than usual. Inside are the essentials: a change of clothes, skincare, and personal items, neatly packed alongside your work things.
It’s mundane yet romantic, this little ritual you’ve built together. Friday nights are reserved for catching up, sharing laughter, and exchanging updates about work and personal lives.
During one of these chats, he casually mentioned that Isagi and Ness know about the two of you now. You shared that Miko, your closest friend and roommate, knows too. But you couldn’t bring yourself to tell him about the video. Not yet.
That Friday night, you binge-watch movies. This time, some of his favorites, including SPEC. It’s endearing to see him so animated as he talks about what he loves, his passion stretching beyond football.
Curled up on the couch together, a blanket draped over you, everything feels natural. His arm rests over your shoulders, pulling you close as you melt into his side. Occasionally, he leans in to kiss you—your knuckles, your cheek, the top of your head—absentmindedly, his eyes never leaving the screen. The faint scent of his body wash lingers in the air, grounding you in this moment, so intimate yet exhilarating.
By the time the third movie ends, you’re both ready to tuck in for the night. As you drift off in his arms, the comfort and warmth feel whole, complete.
You always wake up earlier than him. It’s a small, heartwarming detail you love about these mornings. He even got you your own coffee mug. A matching set of Nier Automata ones for both of you. With coffee in hand, you lounge in the living room, flipping through a book while the quiet hum of his apartment surrounds you.
Later, you make brunch together, settling into the kind of domesticity that makes your heart flutter. Saturdays with Hiori are always this way—unhurried and easy. You both slip into a rhythm that feels like second nature, each finding comfort in the other's presence.
When he’s gaming on his PC, you’re nearby doing some light work on your laptop, occasionally glancing up to watch his focus. When he switches to his PS5, you curl up beside him on the couch, yapping about the book or manga you’re reading as your fingers absentmindedly play with his hair. He listens quietly, humming in acknowledgment now and then, his contentment reflected in the small smile that lingers on his face.
It’s the kind of quiet companionship that makes everything feel right—as if the two of you were meant to exist in this peaceful harmony.
But this time, something disrupts the vibe.
Standing by the sink, phone in hand, your brow furrows as the video plays again. It’s the same one. The influencer, the coy smile, the teasing comments. You try to push it aside, but the weight of it lingers.
“Hey, you okay?” Hiori’s voice startles you. He’s slipped behind you, his hands resting gently on your waist as he presses a kiss to the top of your head.
“God, Hiori, you scared me!” You fumble with your phone, but instead of turning it off, the volume spikes, making you jump. Flustered, you quickly lower it.
“What was that?” he asks, noticing the unease in your expression.
You hesitate but eventually lead him to the couch, where you show him the video. As he watches, you fidget, your fingers twisting nervously in your lap.
“I just… it’s been bothering me,” you admit finally, your voice trembling. “Even though we’ve been dating for a few weeks now, I can’t shake this feeling that our worlds are too different. It’s pathetic that I let it bother me.”
Before he can respond, you continue, a weak laugh escaping you. “I know we’ve talked about this, but… it just gets to me sometimes.”
Hiori pauses, then gently pulls you into his arms. “Hey, s’fine. I understand. Don’t worry about them, ‘kay?” His voice is soft but steady, grounding you.
You feel his sincerity, but the nagging fear remains. “I don’t want to scare you with these feelings,” you confess, your voice barely above a whisper.
“And I wantcha ya to know ya won’t scare me. Ever.” He tilts your chin up, meeting your eyes. “Is there anything I can do to help ease yer mind?”
You shake your head, smiling faintly. “Just this… spending time with you like this, it’s enough for me.” But then, gathering your courage, you add, “Actually… I was wondering if I could take you out. On a proper date. Something special. Just the two of us.”
His eyes widen slightly in surprise, but his smile grows almost immediately. “You’re asking me out, huh?” He chuckles, leaning in to kiss on the lips. “Of course. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned.”
And for the first time in days, the weight in your chest feels a little lighter.
When midweek rolls in, you know you'll be too preoccupied since it always comes with an avalanche of tasks, and today is no different.
You're neck-deep in work, juggling content planning for upcoming videos and articles while checking in with interns you’re supervising. They're compiling research on volleyball, basketball, and surprisingly, esports, which they’ve informed you is “the next big thing.”
You slump back in your chair, fingers aching from typing, and let out a long exhale. Cracking your knuckles, you reach for your coffee, savoring the warmth as it spreads through you. It’s moments like this when caffeine feels less like a drink and more like a lifeline for your overworked soul.
Your phone buzzes on the desk, lighting up with a notification. It’s a message from Hiori.
Oooh, a Hiori pick-me-up, you think, already feeling a smile creep onto your face. Just what you need to get through this impending burnout.
The message is short:
hiori: watch fer a surprise
Attached is a link. Intrigued, you click it, and a video opens.
It’s a recent press interview featuring Hiori. He looks effortlessly charming in a black hoodie, his hair perfectly tousled in that way that reminds you of lazy weekends spent curled up on his couch. You remember him mentioning this event last weekend, but seeing him on screen still catches you off guard.
The interviewer’s question catches your attention: “So, Hiori, there’s been a lot of buzz about you and a certain sports influencer lately. Any truth to those rumors?”
Your chest tightens slightly at the mention.
Hiori tilts his head, his expression as calm and composed as ever. “Sorry, who?” he replies, his tone laced with subtle mischief. “Oh, you mean the one who has the same sponsor with our team?”
Ness, seated beside him, nudges him gently, a silent reminder to tread carefully.
The interviewer presses on. “Yes. Rumors are that she's the mystery girl you're dating. Is she?”
Hiori chuckles lightly, dismissing the question with his usual nonchalance. “Nope, not at all. We’ve never even talked to each other.”
And then, just when you think he’s moved on, he adds, “Besides, I like my girl who’s a little nerdy, enjoys the same things I do outside of football, and, oh yeah—she talks a lot.”
Your breath catches.
The comments section beneath the video is already buzzing. Fans are losing it over his indirect confirmation of the photo rumors.
did he just confirm he's taken? he’s confirming without really confirming it! whoever the mystery girl is, she’s lucky af. i will crawl in a hole and cry
But you’re not focused on them.
Hiori’s words replay in your mind, each one feeling like it was chosen just for you. He didn’t name names, but the teasing specificity left no doubt in your heart. This was his way of sharing a piece of his life with the world—without giving too much away.
Your shoulders relax as the video ends, warmth spreading through you.
Another message pops up on your screen.
hiori: would you mind writing an article about how yer favorite football player, Hiori Yo, is no longer single? hiori: also, I can’t wait to see where yer taking me fer our date. 😉
You can’t help but laugh softly, shaking your head at his playful tone.
Oh, this man.
The stress of the day doesn’t feel so heavy anymore. With Hiori’s teasing yet heartfelt reminder of how much you mean to him, you feel ready to take on whatever comes next.

Would love to hear your thought on meowrails break up and who they end up with?! Especially interested in Hal <> Nepeta!
Ok! Just a disclaimer before anything: this is not at all saying you shouldnt ship the meowrails, this is just a canon discussion blog and I have noticed... some stuff... but ship whatever you want, I literally don't care, all HCs are valid, etc. etc.
"Everyone has an important job to do." This is a phrase that gets repeated in Hivebent a few times, which makes it important, as Homestuck often uses repetition to build up an "internal lexicon" and deliberately highlight when situations have similar connotations (Hussie discusses this on their Formspring). So what's the context for this specific phrase? Well, it shows up three times, and for at least two of those times, it's associated with failed moirallegiances.
GA: But It Just Means Theres Got To Be Someone Around To Keep An Eye On Them GA: And If Not Me Then Who GA: Everyone Has An Important Job To Do AG: Ok, so you're spying on me. Kind of creepy! Man, m8y8e you should get a l8fe.
And
CC: I will need to connect after my goofball moirail does so I can keep my goggles on )(is nefarious escapades. CC: Its a toug)( job but its important! Everyone )(as an important job to do.
So, okay, apparently the context of this phrase is "this person is in a moirallegiance that will NOT work out"... well, here's the third time it pops up (though it's the first time chronologically):
Your best pal of all is A LITTLE BOSSY, and people wonder why you even bother with him. But someone has to keep him pacified. If not you, then who? Everyone has an important job to do.
So... hm. This isn't the only thing I have to say about meowrails breakup, but it is the most prominent one, and maybe the most damning, depending on how much weight you put into Homestuck's oft-deliberate use of parallels.
Maybe something a bit more damning is the way Hussie speaks about them in the book commentary? Pretty much every time they turn up, he has some comment to make about how Equius doesn't really "need" Nepeta, and about how he tends to talk over her and usurp her agency, like so many shitty boyfriends IRL.
We don't know much about Equius yet, but we get an awful lot of info about him with this excerpt. He's racist, a huge snob, doesn't like swearing, is stern and controlling, has a patronizing fondness for Nepeta, and thinks archery is cool because of its association with nobility. Combine this with the snapshot of his room we'll see soon, and suddenly we have an extensive character portrait. This was all important to establish quickly, because it helps us understand in record time that Equius is in fact one of the greatest characters ever created.
Equius says he appreciates that Nepeta's angry. I guess meaning that he respects an angry disposition, like his own. Especially early on in his characterization, it's suggested he has anger issues (like him taking his rage out on robot dummy combatants). But I'm not sure this trait holds up. Over time, he seems to show a lot more passion about his weird stuff, his passion for archery and muscular horse men, his submissive obsessions, his deference toward those higher on the hemospectrum and fetish-like indulgence in depraved attraction toward those lower. Ultimately he comes off more as a ridiculous nerd, with a soft spot for a lot of silly and creepy shit. My view on this is, it's not that the text lost track of the fact that he was supposed to be angry. It's more that this was his initial state of mind early on, and the more he started blowing off steam with his various indulgences (Aradiabot, etc.) the less he had to be mad about. We just meet him at a really high-strung point in his life. I think it's more accurate to say his "anger" is a form of hyperintense focus on being stern, aloof, proper, and averse to nonsense, which is a facade serving to cover up his inner personality, which is barely in control at all. Like Nepeta suggests, deep down he wants to play the kinds of silly games she plays. He wants to let go completely, and indulge every ludicrous and depraved whim he has. His arc tends to be more about caving to these indulgences, and all the mixed consequences that follow, than resisting them.
Here's [S] Equius: Seek the highbl00d, another playable RPG game. [...] But Christ, why am I talking about that garbage when we are about to review some truly choice material focusing exclusively on your favorite meowrails. It is a great illustration of their tragic dynamic; deeply committed and caring partners in the diamonds quadrant, and yet compromised by Equius and his stubborn class-driven faults, his pathological reverence for his superiors, his forced and probably not genuinely felt sense of disdain for lower bloods like Nepeta, and ultimately his failure to rise above these flaws when presented with a real test of character and friendship. A test imposed, of course, by a boorish murderclown, who from this point onward just ruins fucking everything, constantly.
Hussie is an unreliable narrator (of the "he's deliberately playing a character who's biased, opinionated, and sometimes wrong, because a major theme of Homestuck is that you have to question who's telling the story and if they can be trusted" variety), so it's difficult to parse exactly what he's saying is salient, especially since he talks so damn much. But even so, he constantly goes out of his way to highlight how the meowrails DON'T work out - which is even pretty canon in the comic.
In Hivebent, the two are established as working along this dynamic: Nepeta soothes Equius's anger issues, while Equius keeps Nepeta from recklessly endangering herself (for example, prohibiting her from LARPing). But as Hussie says, Equius's anger problems become basically nonexistent by the time Murderstuck rolls around, and his actual problem is his overindulgence in his fetishes; meanwhile, his bossy, controlling attitude to Nepeta was always kind of suspect, but it actively becomes a source of frustration to her that she can't wait to shirk (he bans her from talking to the humans, and she goes behind his back to do it anyways - even celebrates when Karkat gives her express permission).
In the end, they die for their failures as a moirallegiance - despite being fresh off a feelings jam in a pile, and so, supposedly at their least likely to hurt themselves or others, Equius's horny gets him killed (Hussie has always maintained across multiple platforms that Equius could've easily overpowered Gamzee, he just chose not to because Hot), and Nepeta doesn't listen to his orders to stay put. In later conversations with ARquiussprite, Equius is always framed as the one here who was wrong - who failed to keep Nepeta safe and has something to apologize for. I think it's also pretty important to notice that in the bubbles, Equius is never seen doing so - but IS seen being really weird to Aradias - fully implying that he's actually been avoiding taking accountability to Nepeta in favor of indulging in his fetish shit, out of shame and guilt.
As Hussie says, the meowrails are an important relationship, and when I say they don't work out, I don't mean they shouldn't have been together in the first place. On the contrary; I think they actually were good for each other, way back on Alternia. Nepeta DID keep Equius's frustrations in check, and Equius DID keep Nepeta out of trouble. But as time went on, Equius just got really comfortable with treating Nepeta like an object he owned - something convenient, which he can use when he's feeling sad, and ignore otherwise - and Nepeta started growing frustrated with his increasingly petty control. They grew as people, their needs changed, and they stopped being good for each other, but they stayed together - out of inertia and sunk cost fallacy on Nepeta's end, and on Equius's end, because it was convenient and pleasant (for him) and useful (for him) so why would he throw it away?
While this is something I think could potentially be worked out with relationship therapy, the thing with Homestuck is that it's big into the idea of soulmates, especially in the pale quadrant (which is described with that exact term). Its ultimate thesis on romance is that, while you have to do a lot of personal work in order to be the kind of person who can BE in a soul mates relationship, ultimately a relationship SHOULD have an element of just... easy compatability, idiosyncracies clicking together in just the right way to bring out the best in both parties. It's idealized, and there's criticism to be made about that, but that's still ultimately how romance kind of functions in Homestuck. The perfect match is out there for you, and while you have some growing to do in order to be ready for it, it's supposed to be easy once you get there. Consider how Eridan can calm Karkat down literally just by talking to him normally, or how Sollux regularly outright professes that Feferi's just fucking amazing - these are relationships where the involved parties don't need to tell themselves "everyone has an important job to do" with grit teeth to justify keeping the relationship going.
Meowrails lacks that inherent compatability, according to the evidence, but of course, that brings up the question of who they SHOULD date in pale instead. Hey, did you ever notice that Dirk (and by extension, Hal) are EXTREMELY Equius-coded?
So here's the thing. Hal's favorite alpha kid is Roxy, who is also pretty Nepeta-themed, being a cat-associated Rogue. They regularly flirtLARP with each other, but when we get a glimpse of this so called flirtLARPing, it's actually Roxy almost, but not quite, getting Hal to admit that he's actually not really that into Jake, he just feels obligated, as an extension of Dirk, to make DirkJake happen. They almost, but not quite, have a feelings jam.
Meanwhile, Hal outright calls his conversation with Dirk, as Dirk grapples with whether or not he should kill Hal, a "feelings jam", and Dirk also has a convo with Caliborn about how maybe he should consider the merits of selfcest.
What these interactions hint at, to me, is Nepeta <> Hal, and Equius <> Dirk... and I think if you consider it from the standpoint of their personalities, it works, too?
Nepeta is pretty consistently shown to have a knack for knowing how other people actually feel. Her shipping charts are incorrect in terms of compatability, but she's got a scary knack for reading intentions and desires - as befits a non-destructive Heart player. She's able to pinpoint that Eridan's advances on her are insincere, but he's not that bad a guy; she notices that Karkat is a big softie who loves his friends so much; she correctly reads that Equius is a big ol' goofball who loves to play games. Hal, as a Mind player, and even more as originally being a Dirk splinter and an AI, is deeply distressed by his lack of "self"-hood; it's Roxy who calls out first and most blatantly that he's clearly his own guy with his own real feelings, which seems to be why he gravitates toward her. Nepeta would do this even harder, since it's kind of her entire Thing, and I think Hal would really appreciate that, since Hal is at his worst when he thinks he's acting in someone else's best interest (Sylph lol).
Meanwhile, what Nepeta really needs IS an enabler. She's a rebellious soul with radical ideas about how the hemospectrum is stupid and dumb, and she's RIGHT and she should SAY IT. Hal's amazing at giving people what they "want", pulling strings to ensure DirkJake happens, while also framing it as something that Jake would want - this bombastic, action hero kiss-in-front-of-a-volcano. Nepeta's clearly attracted to characters with Equius-esque qualities, but after spending so long with Equius, who does nothing but push her down with a patronizing "hush, greenblood, it's for your own good," I think she would do well with an insane partner in crime who instead goes "fuck yeah girl, let's make this shit happen." Especially since her personal insecurities are that other people will find her dumb and silly (an impression that Equius certainly didn't HELP with...) - having Hal in her corner going "uhhh you're literally my favorite and I will engineer situations to fall directly in your favor?" would be a huge help to her.
I'm actually not entirely sold on equius <> dirk - they're maybe too similar? - i have in my notes here john <> dirk and equius <> jake. idk. the shipping web starts to get complicated
#equius zahhak#nepeta leijon#hal strider#dirk strider#equidirk#nephal#again please dont come at me bc i lowkey dont care about shipping#like i just think story-wise it's interesting#that nepeta and equius seem set up to fail#but then these new characters are introduced who are suspiciously nepeta/equius coded#who echo their relationships in interesting ways#and homestuck's ending is bad on purpose as a dare to the audience to figure out the actual happy ending#as argued before multiple times homestuck can't have a happy ending unless everyone is alive and god tiered (minus caliborn)#(who made his choices and loves the outcome he got)#so like roxy and dirk/hal don't have those parallels JUST because nepeta and equius are dead and need replacements#and i think the reason is because... of dating

Since my headcanons seem to be enjoyable I would like to indulge it more :]
So.
Heathers:
Anubis would like the symbolism behind the scrunchie (a useless system that convinces people that they are superior to others) and would love the finale.
Enid screams to me as a super shy Heathers fangirl ashamed for the popularity of few songs of the musical (*cough cough* Dead Girl Walking *cough cough* Blue) and promises she watches it for the plot.
Les Miserables:
Both Jewelia and Bella give me the vibes of those “Big name musicals fangirls”, so Les Miserables is. Jewelia would be a casual fan and Bella instead would go into a few wars in the fandom for who sang the best climax in “Stars” or questioning if the movie could actually be good if they hadn't overworked the actors to death.
The Addams Family:
I am saying this as an Addams Family fan who dislikes the musical as a continuation of the Addams Family: Those three would love it as its own story. Isa and Alek would love the general “Omg the family love each others but there's some generational issues they need to solve but they genuinely care about the other” feeling (Briar would like it too for this but would also be a little uncomfortable because it hits too close home) and Alphonse, as a kid of a theater kid and a writer, they would love some writing choices, like the Ancestors being both back up dancers and the ones who move the furniture around and Fester being a narrator.
Raggedy Ann And Andy:
Briar is here for the cute relationship between the Ragdolls Siblings. The rest is for whatever the hell is the scene with The Fudge or The Twins. (P.s. I think the musical would generally be well loved in Boiling Isles. The surrealistic and goofy vibes of the movie seem what many witches would love to watch??)
Epic The Musical:
Bramble and Tessetha give me the vibes of someone who would like tougher musicals??? Epic seems fitting, especially the last sagas.
Legally Blonde:
Azura would love Elle Wood as a protagonist and find her such an icon.
(Azura also gives me similar vibes to her, they are both kind hearted gals who wanna reach their dreams while still being kind but have some type of social barrier they need to crush to do so)
Brigid gives me vibes of someone who would like the musical and her being a huge lesbian makes me think she would find many actresses attractive
Mamma Mia:
They are all there for the ABBA karaoke night/pos
Death Note:
Has bangers, cool plot and is very very edgy. What else do I need to say? (I want to make clear that I mean that Anais is more grown up so she can enjoy it for good)
Ride The Cyclone:
It's about life, it's about death, it's about the joy of living and how a little accident might destroy it so you should enjoy it as much as you want. They would both love it.
(Also Hyacinth would relate to Ricky Potts on a spiritual level.)
During an autism attack I decided to use your tier to answer/speculate/headcanon/"project all my musical obsessions over your OCs " your OCs' answers to the question: "What is your favorite musical?"
Signed- @art-of-a-ghostie (Main blog is basically dead so I prefer use my secondary blog as main)
If you want I am gonna infodumb about my headcanons in the reblogs, I don't want create a long wall of text, it feels like the online equivalment of blocking the road to a market.
AKSJCNSKNDKSNDHCNDHZBXGX GOD THIS IS SO GOOD THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED THE TIERMAKER TO BE USED FOR!!!!!!! This all tracks 100%. Hyacinth and Bronwyn go to New York for the weekend and go see ride the cyclone. YES.

kingisle whenever they need to coax older players back: HEY YOU PERSON WITH A WALLET!!! REMEMBER DRAGONSPYRE?!? REMEMBER HOW SAD THE LAST ACT MADE YOU FEEL? HERE'S SOMETHING REFERENCING DRAGONSPYRE!! ISNT THAT YOUR FAVORITE?!
#artenoise#ki101#wizard101#pirate101#like i have no issue with dragonspyre as a world but the extent that it's use to generate more hype is getting old#the mali the undying stuff with AZ and darkmoor and then the catacombs#and now this new pirate update#like it doesn't even matter if it doesn't make much sense like the young battledrake mount#DS is the cash cow even more than WC because they know people that played up to the end of DS or DM have some fondness for it#but it's getting so sour and overused imo#like if mali the undying didn't happen and get resolved ten years ago i would've bet real money they would've pulled it now#but they bank so heavily on the nostalgia but it isn't even that good of a world#the pacing comes to a screeching halt once you reach ashley#and the weakness spam is really tilting if you're trying to get it done in a day or two#but it's also not bad it still has the best aesthetics and ideas and doesn't feel like One Thing#like how wallaru is Just Australia or zafaria is Just Africa#and the atmosphere is great it gives off this post protagonist feel ig. where it feels like any other game would have you doing stuff#during the invasion. but no. it's just an active graveyard#that's the other thing the more KI tries to expand on it the less harrowing and mysterious it feels#which is a huge bummer.#even if the catacombs was cool#i know this is a long ass ramble but dude after seeing the new pirate update im just. bruh.#Yaknow

I really enjoyed being a mourn watcher because there's a lot of cool extra dialog with emmrich and a couple conversations about death/grieving that you get. the one thing I didn't like is the mourn watch dialog options all feel very different tone-wise from normal Rook dialog (much more serious and idk... academic?). it's not a huge issue but it's blatant enough that the game even has Harding comment on how different Rook is when talking about MW stuff. so really I wish there were MORE specific dialog options so it wouldn't feel so tonally inconsistent when I chose them
i have a question for people who played dav : if you picked a faction other than grey wardens, how much did you enjoy it? how did you like interactions with the companions representing it + with whatever npcs your faction had? just wondering

also while playing trivial pursuit my sister pronounced leisure [lɛʒɚ] and people were kind of razzing her for not pronouncing it [liʒɚ], and i was like well that's also how i pronounce it so i don't see what the big deal is. it rhymes with measure which is obviously very cool. and her bf was like that's not surprising, you two are the most similar people i've ever met. which was horrendously flattering and also very funny because i don't think we're that similar, but also whenever my sister and i do something the same way i always wonder if it's just because we were exposed to the same influences and forces growing up, or because she got it specifically from me. especially because of our age difference and how much she idolized me as a child, it's quite possible that many of the things we have in common are because she saw me doing them and just thought i was endlessly cool and copied me. which is INSANE to me because i think SHE is so cool, but not for the things that we have in common, for all the other stuff lol.
#sibling feels#my posts#fun with pronunciation#soo silly to razz someone for pronunciation for any reason but especially for a pronunciation as cool as [lɛʒɚ]? come on now#you're just telling on yourself. epic self-own#had a very weird moment where my mother and uncle insisted that we have never used the pies as markers in trivial pursuit#and my sister and i were like. that's the only way we've ever played it??? and i personally haven't ever played trivial pursuit#except with my family. so i have no idea what they were talking about. they were so positive about it but so were my sister and i#they were like no we've always used separate little people-shaped markers. the pies don't even fit on the squares#and i was like trivial pursuit doesn't even come with other markers what are you talking about???????#yeah the pies don't fit on the squares but that's completely irrelevant as an argument because it's never stopped us before???#huge mystery. i asked if they were punking us but it seemed too spontaneous to be so coordinated?#but also my mom and her boyfriend were definitely punking us over this other thing i can't even begin to describe to you#(basically a diorama of trash that once you stared at it for ten minutes appeared to be someone faking the moon landing???)#(and then they kept saying they didn't know who had made it or what it was. but they're the only ones who could have done it)#so it's not that i don't think they would punk us it's just that i don't see what the utility would be for them to punk us#over that particular issue#though it's not like there was any reason for anyone to make a diorama of the faked moon landing and then lie about it#i should stop trying to understand these people lmao

...was Gearbox's goal with this comic to make Amara look like as much of an asshole as possible lmao
#opening a comic with your hero beating on 3 innocent people because she's bored is certainly a choice#borderlands#borderlands spoilers#i was looking forward to this miniseries as a chance to give Amara some more character development#because I think she COULD be really interesting. and there's so much to explore with her relationship to sirenhood and her powers#how she used them to escape poverty and how she grapples with-#-such destructive magic that BL3 implies may be physically consuming her (the tattoos starting to grow and spread over her entire body)#like fine if she's just a huge jerk that's cool! i like jerkish women! let her be in it only for the fame & not for actually helping people#but I'd like to know more about her than Just that...#granted we're only 1 issue in but. it seems this is gonna be more action than character study#also why the hell does nobody know who she is?? not only was she in movies but she killed the Calypsos?? opened multiple Vaults?? like#people know TYPHON DELEON but not her??#rrrghhhhh#(i will still be reading the whole miniseries anyway lol)

The problem I'm having with one of my stories is that it is compelling - but not clicking.
It's a sephiroth gets reincarnated into mdzs. Straightforward. I've got several branching paths: lwj, jc, nmj (my personal fave) and the jade twins (one mind in two bodies). All five of them have great potential, but for some reason my heart is set on sephiroth!lwj, because the aesthetic is sublime.
But! It's! Not! Working!
My main problems are a) despite similar surfaces, sephiroth has fundamentally different morals and life experiences to lwj and lwjs morals are a huge part of his and wwx's stories. B) I can't NOT have wangxian. I don't ship often at all, but when I do I'm pretty set on it lol. I don't want to deny soulmates. Unfortunately I HATE writing romance. C) I do not think sephiroth should be in any sort of romantic relationship at all nor can I see him wanting one. I've read tons of fics where he is in relationships (healthy or otherwise) and they're amazing, yes, but... Under my pen it's just not in the cards. And I do feel pairing him with wwx would just amplify wwx's worst traits, which is the opposite of what lwj does for him.
Everything's in conflict, but the lure of sephiroths second childhood in strict gusu and his complicated feelings about it, wwx being a perfect mix of all his important people with a spine of steel and righteousness that they all lost as everything fell apart, the relationship between sephiroth and his new mother, and how he'd inexplicably lose her too, the white on white aesthetic, the older identical brother, the cruel angels aesthetic with the benevolent demon, the angst of wwx's defection and death, his relationship with qi as a planet's overflowing life force, the tragedy of the mourning angel, monster x monster.... It calls to me.
But there's also the way wwx becoming a demonic cultivator was so vital to winning the war, and the way that affected things, gave him a legitimacy. Involve the silver soldier, and well. Everything else becomes a little extraneous lol. And sephiroth himself is such a big mover and shaker, I don't know what I could do to manage that without wiping out 80% of the remaining jianghu after the burial mounds siege with sephiroth appointing himself king lmao. He's not the kind of person to make small ripples, you know?
And I'd love a twin jades au to sort of turn the chaos inwards a bit (nmj and jgy would be Excellent foils) but again, I can't separate wangxian and imagining scenes feels a bit too close to incest for my tastes, even when it's ONE PERSON in identical bodies!
It's frustrating, wanting to write a non romance fic set in a love story lol. I just. I hate writing romance. But wangxian just don't want to be parted.
But the image of lwj in the xuanwu cave secretly covering a feverish wwx with his wing, only to notice a handful of white feathers pushing through the black as he unknowingly becomes a better person through showing care for other people, shaking his own deep belief that he is a horrible irredeemable creature incapable of love. Caught in an act of love. Hnggh.
Any ideas?!
#It's so frustrating because the block is on my end it's less so an issue with the actual plot#I know people love crossover character reincarnations even in canon soulmates (my other fics have shown me that lol) but wangxian feels lik#Too much? Idk I don't. Want to try and create a relationship#If you don't know in ff7 wing colour is determined by their morality. As a kid sephiroth was symbolised with white feathers#But as he grew older and later snapped he got the iconic black wing. I see it more as a 'what do they perceive themselves as' which#Gets extra angst points for unreliable narration and blindly righteous vs self loathing vs healing vs denial#The wing probably shouldn't be in the fic it's from the j cells and a symptom of insanity but ehhh it's too cool and symbolic#Like there's so much you can do with seph!lwj. Burning nibelheim vs cr burning. Prodigy on a lonely pedestal. Strict gusu vs sterile shinra#Having a mother but being restricted from her and losing her anyway and nobody telling him anything because he's a little kid#Angel x demon aesthetic on the battlefield. Safer mode HAS to make an appearance I don't make the rules (it's way too underrated ToT)#Wwx would get horns and fangs and stuff to balance it out lol. Noncon bodmod from the energy coursing through you#I feel he'd relate. Lwj being utterly terrified of wwx mentally degrading from the resentment and being forced to watch him ruin himself#Lwj seeing the best of all the people he loved in wwx and seeing him be so genuinely relentlessly GOOD where they fell apart.#Him being terrified of his own overwhelming feelings hurting wwx like cloud. The possessiveness and simultaneous avoidance#Him being even less easily flustered XD. Wwx has a high bar to top some fans from his last life.#Bb lwj getting really stubborn over wanting a stupid big sword and then growing huge enough to use it lol#Sephiroth getting a 'proper' childhood and being so unused to it he can't tell it's still not a very good one. Being doted on by his big br#mdzs#mxtx mdzs#mdzs fanfiction#mdzs fic#mo dao zu shi#lan wangji#ff7#final fantasy vii#cloud strife#final fantasy 7#sephiroth#This is working on the idea sephiroth got controlled by jenova btw the other version is beyond hope#mdzs au

ok I know I said I love dark cacao but like they didn't have to make two of him /j
(I'm sorry what the fzck is going on with kingdom right now like. I thought my friend was kidding when they said "ancient+" I thought it was a joke about Mystic Flour like what the fudge do you MEAN someone actually signed off on that-)
(I feel like I caused this somehow 😭 like I think I said once on here that cacao's my favorite out of the ancients but I didn't like to actually USE him but like. why not just buff him???? Or like they were doing that whole crystal jam thing and I know that was kinda only for the legendaries but like. it's something-)
#Like... ok I'm thinking back to that one thing I saw a game designer on YouTube say about how like gameplay comes over story#And like. Is it FUNCTIONALLY a completely different character in every possible way?? at least?????#Though like. Y'know why make a different rarity for it why not just. Like. Why make just like 'better' versions of the ancients anyway??#Like maybe if it were like. Idk I'm not a game designer but like if it were some kind of reward for playing through beast-yeast. Exclusivel#Then honestly that WOULD actually be pretty cool if they gave that to you for playing through the story all the way to those points#And maybe then this being just like. Buffed cacao would make more sense. It'd at least feel more special.#cookie run#Ask to tag#<- idk I know some people don't like negativity in the tags but I don't know what to tag for Cookie run specifically#Because I never really. Post negativity about this series. Like. I'm kinda just Baffled by this. (Is my tone negative??)#Cookie run kingdom#i Just. I heard from a pal that players are like protesting against this and I'm hoping to God they like Listen and like.#Do something to make this into not an issue because. It's gonna be an issue this is gonna be a huge issue.#Like this game has a goddamn meta dammit you can't do this to people#I love cacao but like. Why can't it just be a buff. Or even just like a buff locked behind like story content as like a reward for playing.#Look again I'm not a game designer maybe that idea sucks xss but like. Look I don't think most players are happy with THIS#Fudging and here I was thinking “I need to beat that story stuff finally so I can post funny Undertale jokes about it”I#I just. Yeah.

What is even the point of Silver living in the future? It’s not his future anymore and he has no friends or family there. There’s nothing for him there. Now that he has precognition he should just live in Sonic’s time and get visions of disasters.
Seriously there’s no point in his future or time travel. We’ll never see it, Silver only cares about the state of it and he can only go to Sonic’s time anyway.
I find this an interesting question myself. The best answer I can give as to why Silver keeps returning to the future is that him being from the future is "his thing", just like how having PK is "his thing". It's just something very much intertwined with his character; basically every bio he has makes mention of it, for example. But I also agree with the notion that him being from the future opens up some issues. I've seen statements that it is difficult to make Silver relevant if he must travel to the past every time, for example, which I don't disagree with (but for me, the same could then be said about Blaze and the Sol Dimension or Knuckles and the Master Emerald). Adding to that, I do not believe we know for certain if its state is generally 'destroyed' or 'saved' and if Silver grew up in a destroyed world (said in multiple bios) or a good one (I'd argue that is implied in Rivals 1, with Eggman Nega almost certainly having stolen the camera from someone else and Onyx Island being both a paradise and having developed industry on it that I do not believe Angel Island currently has). Furthermore, the Rivals games are also not very consistent to me about if the future has actually gotten rewritten or not (but it tentatively seems to lean that way, since Silver says at the end of Rivals 2 he hopes the new future is a happy one), and we legit just do not know how its alleged destruction goes. Does Silver indeed intervene before something bad can happen, or does the future actively turn bad before his very eyes and he goes back in time to undo that again? I am truly not certain if there's ever been a clear-cut answer from a credible source, though I am pretty sure there's multiple conflicting explanations from non-credible ones... but that really doesn't help make things clear. And lastly, we also do not know what he has in his own era when it comes to friends and family, nor is it ever clearly shown or said how he time-travels in any game other than '06. With all that combined I can see why having him return again and again gets... well, confusing, haha!
In that regard, I also feel there is merit in the idea of him just staying for good in the past. His friends are there, it's consistently where the action happens anyway, and Team Sonic Racing indeed hints at him having a sense of precognition. The Japanese version actually dives into it more, with Silver asking himself at the very end when Eggman's battleship is going down if that is what was causing his bad/nagging feelings. Considering he was necessary there to help carry people and racecars off it to safety, it does imply to me that that scene might have intended to show it as a genuine skill of his. Shame the English version cuts that moment out entirely. So yeah, the point of Silver being in the future is, to the best of my explanations, legit just the fact that's how he has been conceptualised, making it "his thing". But it does cause confusions for me, because of how much there is not clearly explained and all the contradictory information out there from non-game sources. I think having Silver stay in the past for good could make for a nice move on Sega's part, assuming it is within his own decisions (so not forced by A ThingTM that is entirely unexplained to us and removes all his agency, for example). I think it'd be a nice resolution for Silver to see his heart lays in the past, and he can still protect his own world from there too!
#*A Thing*TM is a reference to that Fast Friends Forever website that said Silver travels to the past with portals these days btw#How. Why. What are these portals. Where do they come from. Who is making them. How do they manage to send Silver to the right time-#-in the past when disaster is striking and why are they apparently also totally cool with him going Extreme Gear racing.#bonus points for Silver in the games never having indicated that it is not *himself* sending himself to the past#and a Sonic Channel artwork from way back in the day saying he uses Chaos Control#*and* the comics suddenly writing that Silver cannot control his time-travelling (which directly makes them contradicts themselves on top:#in issue 12 Silver says he is staying in the past as he does not think the real threat is gone; aka actively sticking around by choice-#-which to me does not at all imply that he cannot control his time-travelling for whatever reason.)#but it is contradictory information from various non-game sources like these about topics the games do not explain properly or extensively-#-that do make things more unclear‚ I would say#I myself try to stick to the games as best I can with Sonic Channel as further source‚ but the problem there is there's just not a lot said#definitely things implied clear enough (like Silver just being able to go to the past whenever he wants) but not explicitly shown#and to add to that: I don't think Silver is *important* enough of a character for Sega to begin changing him up in such a way to begin with#I do not think him having the resolution of staying in the past would add something to a story‚ because he is hardly in any focus anyway#so unless we get a story wherein he plays a huge role and gets much attention‚ I doubt anything in this situation will change.😅#silver the hedgehog

You know what, joining that Discord show club was a great idea, like half of my favourite PKC folks are there. And is there anything more wholesome than someone going '1!! hey, I remember that dog!! she's adorable, I'm glad she's doing well!' about a little pixel friend they made for you years ago?
#someone also said they liked one of my older petz that I got from a member of the Polish Petz community back in the day#and we went on to reminiscent about how the community used to be back then#honestly? in a way that talk is the closest thing I'll ever get to closure in regards to what happened with the PKC#and I think that with that I can actually try and move on#even though it's pretty damn tough when a niche site that's been around since you were born just...... falls apart due to technical issues#but I've done it before. SHiR felt like it would never go away too after all#and I was there with PTI practically since the very beginning and until the very end#anyways the Petz community is still so vibrant and cool#it hurts but it'll heal. It somehow hurts way more now that I'm an adult though.#maybe because now the Polish Petz community basically /has/ no home? and I've known some of those people since I was 11?#still.... all good things must come an end and I can accept it. I feel I'm slowly getting closer to that point.#maybe I'll slowly warm up to the concept of using my RKC account ahahaha.... the RKC people were always really nice after all#the Petz community at large won't die anytime soon I don't think. Most of us have been here for at least 10 years after all.#a huge chunk of them for 20+ years#again. some people have been here longer than I've been alive#it's not something that can entirely disappear

Behold
Alexander!
This is probably the most effort I've put into designing a character and I'm not even done with his outfit :')
The scarf might change designs and colours depending on how his outfit goes, I might also add some extra stuff to it.
Alexander is going to be one of the few side characters that don't have a blessing! He might not have a blessing, but he can still defend himself :)
His specialty is swords and knives (Also throwing weapons).
Yes, he is aromantic, but not asexual!
I spent like an hour straight drawing this
Ok edit: His name is actually Alexis now, and he's Spanish
#I don't know if it's because I've been drawing him too long but he's not hot anymore :(#He is in my heart#He is perfect#Malewife energy#Also he's a huge nerd and can speak fluent Japanese#I'm gonna give him the most complicated outfit possible trust#No surname yet (A lot of them don't have one tbh)#I kinda wanted to make him Jewish but there's like. A lot to go through for that#For one I am no good with anatomy so racial features (Is that what you call them?) are a no go#Which leaves names and maybe a badge with the star of David#But more importantly#There's also the issue of religion#And culture#I don't think I want to make him explicitly believe in god because of the setting of the story and some character's relationship with it#Also before he's Jewish he's aro and before that he's just really cool#And not going into God and his relationship with queer people#I was going to give Alex maybe a tattoo but apparently that's not allowed?#So is dyeing his hair#And if I did decide to make him Jewish I'd probably make him fluent in Hebrew also#But that brings up the fact that he's a weeb and maybe just a little bit obsessed with Japanese culture (Just anime in general tbh)#So it feels a little bit weird to make someone who's supposed to represent one culture favour another#And yes Jewish weebs probably exist but in the scope of a story and what it means for representation....#So Alex is just whatever and you can decide where he's from#Wow I info dumped a lot on this thank you for reading this far lol#sweetmountainseeds#Plagues Blessings and Journeys#Alexander#my art#art
