Rafayel is for the ones who grew up so fast- an adult at age ten, a parent to sisters and brothers even younger, and a seasoned therapist your parents turned to for situations you shouldn't even learn until high school.

Rafayel is for the ones who want to heal their inner child, pushing and shoving each other over who gets to play next at the arcade, who gets to be stronger in a playfight, who ends up the least covered in paint after a tussle- tongues out and incomprehensible sounds coming from each others mouths to insult the other wordlessly, hands making inappropriate gestures before lunging to slather another color across skin.

Rafayel is for the ones who think they need a miracle to protect them- a God willing to step in and protect them from whatever might be harming them. Because a God should be able to fight any demon, right? Any terror that's threatening you? And he's safety in the pain, because what is the rage of a God compared to the quiet terror you've been experiencing forever at the hands of what harms you?

Rafayel is for the ones who want the love they never got to have, who want the man who waited centuries for you only to wait even longer. The man who chose you through every horror, every single bad thing you ever did and will do, and will continue to choose you over his people, his home, even fate itself.

Rafayel is for the unorthodox healing, for smacking his hand for cheating at kitty cards when you would never dare to anyone else. For raising your voice at him when you didn't even have a quiet one before. For dancing to yourself in the street because you see him swaying side to side and you want to join him, despite the people around you. For the ones whose younger selves would look on in shock at who the stranger was before them, doing every quietly courageous thing they may have dreamed of once before.

Regulus: ...THATS NOT THE POINT

James: so it did work

Supersons playing in a creek.

Imagine Damian is staying over at the Kent farm, as he often does. Him and Jon have kinda gotten bored of the usual farm kid stuff like bale jumping, hanging out with the cows, and laying in the hayloft. Until Jon is like “I know! Let’s go to the creek!” And Damian is like “What’s so special about a creek?”

So Jon takes some life jackets and a few floaties and beach toys and marches them down to this creek thing. He drops everything but the life jackets and tells Damian to follow him upstream.

“You know I can swim, right?” Damian insists.

“I know. We just need these to float. We can’t use the floaties because they could get snagged and pop.” Jon explains.

They stop at a low bridge. Jon climbs over the railing, plops a life jacket down, and jumps on it. Damian follows after him. They float down the creek together, occasionally splashing each other, but mostly just talking or taking in the scenery.

Eventually they comeback to where they started, a little clearing where it’s apparent that the Kents have set up an afternoon here on more than one occasion. There’s a roped tied to a tree branch, and a little alcove where the water is shallow and calm. Minnows scatter around them as they drop off their life jackets. Damian looks around the shallow pool, to see if he can find any critters. He finds a huge crayfish and shows Jon. They hang out with it for a while before gently putting him back.

They take turns on the rope, seeing who can do the best trick. Jon cheats by flying to slow his fall, fitting at least five flips before he hits the water. Damian rolls his eyes at him.

Damian finds a leech on himself and decides to keep the guy in a bucket for the time being. He collects as many as he can. Damian dares Jon to stick his hand in the bucket, which Jon immediately does. He’s got skin of steel, what could go wrong? He pulls his hand out and it’s (predictably) cover in leeches trying to bite him.

They go back when it starts to thunder and make it back just before it starts pouring. They watch the storm with a cup of Meemaw Kent’s hot chocolate.

do you ever think tommy lashed out after exile in the hopes that he would get hurt again? that he bit the hand that fed him and kept fucking biting just so he’d get hit? that the quiet and the gentleness and being treated like a baby bird with a broken wing was the worse option? at least when he got hit it was over fast. at least the pain was quick and sharp and couldn’t stay forever. gentleness only brings sharper, crueler things down the line, so tommy would prefer the bloody nose or black eye or broken arm thank you very much. so he bites and bites and gnaws and chews up his relationships and waits for the pain that won’t come. because at least this meant it was his choice to be alone. no one could take away what he had willingly given up.

stutter? that's ok, they're more than happy to wait to let you get the words out, it just gives them an extra few seconds to appreciate your voice. Even if you get caught up on the same word a few times or the whole sentence struggles a little, they're not gonna make fun of you. It's you talking, what could ever be 'wrong' with that?

mix up your words? that's totally ok! whether you'd rather try again and say what you actually meant to say or just wanna repeat a few bits so they get the gist, they're not gonna make fun of you. even if you don't notice that you swapped around some words, they've gotten pretty good at deciphering your meaning, time together letting them hone their skills.

forget what you were saying halfway through it? that's totally fine too! whether they give you a few minutes to try and remember or just move past it till something jogs your memory again, they're fine to offer up some ideas on what it might've been about or a new topic to get your mind off of it.

use a lot of 'fluff' in your speech (ie. 'umm,' 'like,' 'uhh,' etc.)? they're not gonna rush the words out of you or interrupt your speech. They're more than happy to give you all the time in the world to talk, no matter how rambly and long-winded it might seem. They like hearing what you have to say and your thoughts are priceless to them.

yall ever think Shen Yuan went through like, internet withdrawal after being transmigrated into Shen Qingqiu? Like, he's canonically a NEET shut-in who did nothing but spend his time online, you can't tell me that for the first week or first few weeks of being SQQ he wasn't twitchy.

Like, reaching instinctively to his pockets for a phone that wasn't there, having an obsessive itch in the back of his mind that he should check and see if X or Y novel or webcomic has updated -- only to realize he can't anymore and being irritated by it. Wanting to go and see if there's new posts about this or that, but again realizing that he can't.

When he's bored or uncomfortable or just feels like wanting to escape he tries to go for his phone to distract himself, but oops! Not there anymore, and now he has to find a new and different way to distract himself from his feelings. And going through system notifications, quests, etc only does so much.

And there's that Tetris Effect too. SQQ makes a mistake while writing and instinctively goes to backspace on it except hey-ho that's not a keyboard and now he just dipped his pinkie into a bottle of ink or on a still-drying letter.

With him scrambling to fix his reputation and learn how to be a peak lord, I think his abrupt cold-turkey from all things internet would just be another straw on the camel's back that he promptly Ignores until it goes away on its own after he acclimates to his new surroundings.
