fantasy high junior year is great but also terrifying because canon is now malleable again. and i love that the story continues but also change is heartbreaking.

Based on Kristen’s entire vibe in the first episode I’m 99% sure she and Tracker are over and yes I am sad but I KNOW Ally is going to deliver to us the most juicy, delicious, messy, toe-curlingly cringe high school lesbian break up drama that has ever existed and I’m so fucking excited

as someone who likes gorgug and his relationships with other people so so much i’ve had literally nothing but wins with this finale.
“do you have a girlfriend?” / “fuck, she’s hot.” GORGUG BARBARIAN GF STREAK CONTINUES. and it’s a rivalry. and he’s so mad that he thinks she’s hot.
“fabian, i wasn’t a virgin before.” ZELDA AND GORGUG FUCKED CANON. as someone who loves that relationship so much to this day, i got everything i could’ve ever wanted from this epilogue.

I don't guys but I've been thinking. Like there is a universe in which Zelda didn't get her GED and just- continued highschool. And- like then she gets caught up in Porter's "I'm-gonna-kill-and-become-a-god" plot bc- she's a zealot barbarian. AND follows the god of wine and ecstacy. She's already like... Halfway there y'know. And I really think that there is a story there where she and Gorgug are still together and we find out the master evil plot through thst betrayal? Y'know?
Like Porter gets Zelda to multiclass junior year into paladin (zealot barbarian!! Half way there!!) and then she finds out their plot Lucy Frostblade -style and then gets killed and shatterstared. Or maybe she just stays dead like Lucy and it's a more emotional moment for the whole party?
And it would give Porter just one more thing on Thistlespring, y'know? Get 'im Angry bc his girlfriend is doing so much better than him "She knows how to multiclass, Thistlespring. None 'o that artificing crap."
I don't know guys, but you see it right? You see where I'm going with this???

Porter pulling the “what would you do if I hadnt pulled you out of that tree” to Gorgug pisses me off because what part of anything that man has done has been helpful?
I get that you’re a bbeg but have some level of self awareness jesus fucking christ

Okay, I just figured out why the ending of episode 2 bummed me out so much.
Seeing every character get home to bad news felt really demoralizing, in a way that was probably more than it deserved, because it is natural that stuff like high school couples breaking up, or wealth disparities and future questioning, or academic trouble, or parental or sibling absence, happens in adolescence, but I just realized that it felt like a gut punch because we didn't see any of it build up.
We have no idea what happened with Gorgug and Zelda, and since they were golden when we last saw them, it feels so weird for it to be implied that they break up. We've spent very little time at Aguefort, so Fig and Kristen's near expulsion is total news to us. We haven't accompanied Sklonda's career shift or even just that much of the Gukgak's home life, so we weren't expecting it to affect Riz's future like that. We didn't get to really see Aelwyn's life change post SY, so it was jarring to have her be gone already. Even Gilear and Hallariel, we've barely seen them actually be together, so for them to be engaged already felt very out of nowhere to me. I think if we'd gotten to see stuff progress to this point, it'd feel a lot more natural and not upsetting at all.
But then I realized, too, that this is exactly what the Bad Kids are feeling!! They're getting home after being gone all summer and realizing they've missed all this stuff, and it feels out of nowhere to them, too!! They're tired, surprised, and feeling like they're lacking key experiences, and now so are we! They made this in a way that it not only depicts typical high school experiences and opens up story opportunities for the new season, but it also puts the audience, emotionally, in the exact same place as the characters!
Brennan Lee Mulligan, you evil genius. I cannot wait for the rest of the season, I simply need to see how they get through this. My emotional well-being depends on it!!!

Thank all the gods of solace that Fig and Gorgug were like 15/16 when they went on tour because if they had have been any older Fig would have somehow convinced Gorgug to get married in Vegas for the bit and then they’d have to do the worlds most hastily secret divorce when Fig met Ayda.

I'm just thinking about how it's reasonable to assume the the Time Quangle means that the events of The Seven are happening during the Night Yorb quest and how that recontextualises certain scenes
Specifically ep 2 when Sam is lashing out at the rest of the group and says to Zelda "I mean he's [Gorgug] already going all over the place without you" and really upsetting her. Obviously, it's originally referring to Spring Break and the band tours whatever, but the changed timeline means it could now be about him having been off chasing the Night Yorb for two months or so which is a whole different context
Of course, Sam apologises and they make up, but it's somehow sadder knowing that Zelda and Gorgug are about to break up presumably because they can't spend enough time together

I like to think that Gorgug hangs out with the seven the way Zelda hangs out with the bad kids. You know that horrible awkward feeling where you only know one person at a party? It’s like that but everyone else at the party is inseparable and they keep teasing you (in a good-natured way) with jokes you don’t understand, and all you can do is smile and nod and try so hard not to embarrass yourself in front of these people you perceive as way too cool for you.

Y'know what's just actually processed in my head. I don't think Gorgug and Zelda are together anymore. And that hurts. Omg. Why. They were so cute and awkward. Why T—T

I don’t know why they told us this would be a fun silly season because so far it’s the season of depression burnout and isolation 😩
