Idk who needs to hear this but being a feminist means that you believe women deserve to be able to choose what they want to do or how they live their lives and that those things shouldn’t be decided for them by men, by other women, or by anyone.
If you disagree.. you’re anti feminist. Got it?
If you believe women should have the right to choose if they want to join the work force or stay at home, that’s a feminist way of thinking.
If you believe women should stay at home and do nothing else, that’s anti feminist. If you believe women should work and do nothing else and shouldn’t have the ability or choice to stay home, that’s anti feminist.
If you think the amount of people a woman sleeps with determines her worth or that she should not be able to enjoy her sex life because she’s a woman, that’s anti feminist. If you believe that a woman has every right to choose if she wants to have sex and enjoy her sex life as she pleases, that’s a feminist ideology.
If you’re constantly dragging women for wanting to stay at home and devote her time and energy to her children and her spouse you’re also anti feminist.
It’s not hard. Please, pay attention.

let me paint u a picture:
i’m in the office, hunkered over my laptop working on a 50-page publication, face no more than six inches from my monitor lining up text boxes to my grid, like full quasimodo ass posture, and i sit up so suddenly that my spine cracks like an old man and i gasp out loud because a piece of dialogue for chapter 7 i’ve been stuck on for like…..,two weeks just came to me like the archangel gabriel came to mary mother of jesus, so i lunge across my giant L-shaped desk for my phone to open to my google doc and get it down before it’s gone again
and it’s been silent in my office for so long and my officemate is so startled by the outburst that she also gasps out loud and jumps ten feet in the air and says “[my name, but terrified]???! 😨😰 what happened!!?;?;? 🫢😥” and i have to say “oh nothing!! 😁” like a liar while i frantically type a paragraph of dialogue for my gay fanfic into my phone

Quick ones that I don't wanna go over because so many people have worded it better
1. Cisgender people can be queer, they can be bisexual, gay, aromantic, anything really.
2. Straight people can also be queer, they can use any gender label, whatever makes them feel comfortable.
3. Homoromantic bisexuality, romantic lesbian pansexuals, etc. are all valid and those who think I'm wrong can dni

When schools offer free meals for everyone, local families reduce grocery spending. Large chains respond by dropping prices, amplifying benefits to the broader community.
Education and nutrition depend on each other.

I want to post this here too because I’ve seen it happen a few times

Please understand that there are cultural differences and language differences, if you see this happening let the person clarify what they meant, that person might just not be familiar with words the western side of the internet use

I’m not Jewish, but trying to make people eat something they don’t/can’t eat is just kinda gross.
I have two family members who are vegetarian. They’ve been veggie for a few years, and only eat fish in terms of “animals that were alive once and now are on my plate”. Giving them meat of almost any kind will basically make them sick, because they have a weakened ability to digest meat.
I also heard somewhere about European settlers coming to an area that didn’t have cows living there. They offered the natives a peace offering that included milk. Every single native human was lactose intolerant, because they never drank milk before. They all got violently ill, and blamed the settlers for poisoning them. (I forgot the source on this one- if anyone has it, I’d like to know.)
It’s the same thing here. If a person- for any reason- hasn’t eaten pork for a certain amount of years/their life, they may get sick if they eat it. I don’t know the religious significance behind Kosher, so I may be talking out of place. But this is common fucking sense. If a person says they don’t eat X, then they could get sick if they eat X. “Could” is not a guarantee, but that’s not something you should risk. Ever.
I wish I'd made it clearer when I make this post but shit like that is super common.
Every Jew has had someone "joke"/threaten/say they were gonna sneak pork into our food. Every single Jewish person, who keeps Kosher or not has had someone say something about giving us bacon or whatever without us knowing
I've had people passive aggressively ask if I wanted any bacon or ham and literally wave it at me while speaking.
I can't count the number of times that the first question out of someone's mouth when they learn I am Jewish is "but do you eat bacon" "have you ever tried bacon?" "what about ham?" "do you want to try bacon?(as in right now this very minute 30 seconds into knowing me)"
Countless Jews have spoken to the person in charge of an event, weeks or even months in advance about their Kosher needs, been assured up down and sideways that those needs will be met to show up and find no Kosher option.
and finally SO! many Jews do indeed have a story of being tricked into eating something not Kosher, and most commonly something pork related.
like this is one of the most common antisemitic micro (and not so micro) aggressions Jews face and is one of the reasons lots of Jews don't keep Kosher, they can't trust even (so-called) friends to have even baseline respect or to learn anything about Kosher.

makes me a little sad when star trek ignores IDIC. like. vulcans are logical. that is true. But 'logical', for vulcans, does not amount to 'without compassion,' and it definitely doesn't amount to 'racial superiority.' Belief in 'infinite diversity in infinite combinations' should NOT result in the weird racist/speciest stuff we're getting in some of the newer treks. It does make sense that some vulcans are discriminatory. They're still flawed. But that should not be common or expected, like it seems to be in SNW. If it is, then it's a race of hypocrites, which. doesn't seem very true to Star Trek's message.
I think TOS Spock does a pretty good job of embodying this. Not always, it was the 60s, after all, but mostly. He was often trying to find non-violent routes, and get by without killing - even if they were in danger or had already been attacked. (See: the mugato, and the horta (until Kirk was the one in danger, lmao. t'hy'la > IDIC), the Gorn ship). Kirk, in his eulogy, calls him the most human soul he's ever known, and I've always read that as Kirk calling out Spock's overwhelming compassion.
It's just so much more interesting when Vulcans get to be radically compassionate. I want them to believe that everything and everyone has value. I want them to respect all ways of being. I want them to find ways for even very non-humanoid aliens to exist unfettered in society. I want them to see hybrids and think that it's amazing. Also, like, disability rep. I want Vulcans to have The Most Accessible Planet and available resources because they want everyone to feel accepted and valued. It makes for better characters and more interesting stories.

Reading homophobic posts and comments is always so wild to me. Like I constantly forget common sense isn't always that common.
