❀ building 13 movie theater headcanons !! ❀

YURRRR !! went to da movies earlier today so i kept imagining specific nanbaka characters in like cinema situations :P cinemations...cinetuations...?? YEAH-

rock is finding a way to smuggle in an outrageous amount of snacks. bro's got candy in his sleeves and chips in his pockets. originally only brought them for himself but ofc the rest of cell 13 beg him for a bite and he lets them cus thats just who he is. despite how much food he brought in he still finds himself missing the beginning of the movie bc he couldn't resist the heavenly scent of overpriced popcorn

nico is a slushy FANATIC. mixin' all the flavors, dumping candies in it n shit. totally the kid in the back of the movie theater slurping the last drop out of the cup hella loud when a quiet, tense moment is going down in a film. hajime's annoyed but stares daggers at anyone who tries to shush him. NICO'S FAV SLUSHY FLAVOR IS THE RED CHERRY ONE !!

uno, bless his heart, is absolutely the person who tries to predict the movie's plot before and during it. and the bad part is he's usually right. also the kinda guy to be scarily good at guessing what the characters are gonna say next lol

jyugo actually likes the movies more than you'd expect. always pockets the 3d glasses just cus he thinks they're cool and he likes that he can spend time with the rest of cell 13 without a heavy focus on talking or interacting. it's also a bonus that it's dark and he can sleep if he gets bored

it took FOREVERRRR to drag tsukumo out to the movies. hc that he's a much bigger fan of media without human actors in it because it reminds him less of his past, so the movie he went out to see with the rest of them was definitely animated. also likes the dark because it makes him feel stealthy, but he has a bad habit of stepping on each and every piece of popcorn or puddle of nacho cheese in the aisles...also insists on using the photo booth whenever he does hit up the cinema cus despite it all he still really likes getting his picture taken

yamato volunteers to wait on the snacks and carry them in while everyone goes ahead to take a seat in the theater. previews end and the movie is 15 minutes in but he still isn't there. everyone thought it was because the food was taking long to come out, but it's just because he forgot which theater to go to and kept circling until hajime and seitarou found him. prolly has trouble locating which seat to go to on his own cus he finds the letters and numbers confusing and hard to see in the dim light (totally not projecting)

seitarou has perfect movie etiquette and tries to get everyone else to follow his example, usually to no avail. his only problem is that he's too considerate of others and thinks he's being impolite when he's really not. the type to take the smallest bite of his food and tiniest sip of his drink so he doesn't disturb anyone. the kind to walk all the way around to the other side of an aisle because he doesn't wanna ask someone to pull back their seat for him to pass. poor guy, he even double-checked to see if his phone was on do not disturb and got shushed because his brightness was all the way up </3

andddd hajime. he's usually the sponsor for these outings since yamato literally can never find his wallet and seitarou doesn't have the heart to tell the others not to drain his bank account by buying ever concession there is. he doesn't let the inmates go wild with snacks and makes sure they behave properly while in there. uno tries to get the inmates to sneak over to another theater and catch the next showing but hajime catches them and makes them pick up the teensy bits of food they left on the ground. he's also the one who has the final say on what movie they actually go to, and even though he says he checks the ratings and plot beforehand because he "doesn't want to watch a shitty movie", it's actually because he wants it to be worth everyone's time and appeal to all of them at least a little bit. dadjime for the win <3

ohhh boy, i forgot about genshin, time to live up to my name with a nest hc for my favorite pyro boy: diluc ragnvindr, the man who literally swept me off my damn feet and made me switch up on his brother (sorry not sorry kaeya-)

okay, first thing’s first, i see diluc as a beta who disguises himself as an alpha or an alpha with omega like tendencies every now and then depending on the situation. for this, imma just stick with beta. NOW, i **know** this man is neat through and through, and his nest is the same. BUT instead of being on the bed, he makes it on the floor because he likes bigger nests bc of how his mom and dad used to make them when he was growing up to hold all of them. this man takes the biggest quilts he has, body length pillows, throw pillows, literally ANYTHING that’s a comfort fabric slash object is getting thrown in there. if he has a mate, they are not moving from that nest without him because he gets clingy whenever he’s not feeling like himself. diluc 1000% hoards his mate’s clothes and will fall asleep with their shirt either on a pillow he’s cuddling or wrapped around his arm to feel like he’s cuddling with them if they’re not around

Beta Diluc being seen as an alpha is big brained.

Beta Diluc doesn't nest often but when he does his nests are so comfortable and practically an omega's dream nest with how large and soft everything is. I imagine it's like a huge pillow fort with pillows lining the floor with the biggest quilt covering them and the larger body pillows with throw pillows on top. The man's rich he can have as many pillows as he wants and stacks them as high as possible all around the area, he has a couple of chairs to hold up the top blanket to make nice canopy it's gorgeous.

Anything soft that belongs to his mate is now inside his nest no exceptions. Scarves, shirts, pants, their own sheets even are all going inside the nest. His mate doesn't mind too much as long as everything is returned eventually but with a nest this comfortable I don't think they'll care to get their stuff back.

Like you said he cuddles with a pillow wrapped in their clothes or with their clothes wrapped around his arm to feel like they're there with him. Doesn't mind if his mate is a beta as well and doesn't have much of scent he's taking whatever he can get. Since he doesn't nest often I'd see that it's either when he's sick, something pretty big happened, or he's just missing his mate. I think Adeline used to help him build his nests when his parents were out for work sometimes and couldn't be around when he needed comfort.

hey hey!! so surprising literally no one i am thinking about,, these little dipshit babies again,,, and i wrote a goofy thing about them! credit for the original idea goes to @kneesup-bootypopped !!

“Oh my God, Mista.” Narancia breathed, hand clasped over his mouth to hide the absolutely shit-eating grin that split across his face. “That is…”

Listen. Narancia is really trying to hold it together here. He really, really is. But you cannot, under any circumstances, expect any sane human being to remain unfazed when one afternoon you’re just chilling on your bed talking about normal shit like video games and food and whatever the hell Fugo did to piss you off this week, and then all of a sudden the hat comes off and your boyfriend shares with you the fact that he has an orange and blue mohawk. 

“That’s...” Narancia struggles, feels the giggles thrashing in his lungs, keeps his gaze glued to the comforter that the hand he’s not using to hide his face is grabbing a fistfull of, but then he just looks back up to his stupid boyfriend with his stupid hair who’s pouting at him right now and the dam finally breaks. 

Narancia howls with laughter, falling back against the pillows and clutching his stomach. 

“Oh you dick!” Mista shouts, scandalized. He chucks his hat at his incredibly rude boyfriend, which lands painlessly against Narancia’s shoulder. “Don’t laugh at me, you bastard!”

“H-Holy shit, babe!” Narancia cries through shrieks of laughter. 

“Quit it!” 

“Dude.” The smaller of the two wheezed, tears in his eyes. Fucking hell. His stomach hurts but he doesn’t care because this is the funniest shit to ever happen to anyone ever as far as he’s concerned. 

“Don’t you ‘dude’ me!” Mista refuted, sounding all offended, which Narancia can’t even wrap his head around because come on, how does he not see that this objectively the most hilarious thing in the world at the moment? 

“Fine,” Narancia spoke, breathless as the remnants of laughter fizzled out. “But it’s still funny.”

“It’s not.” 

“It totally is.”

Mista collapses onto his boyfriend with a decisive ‘hmph’ and lays his head on Narancia’s chest. He’s still pouting at his incredibly rude boyfriend. 

Narancia examines him. One of his hands finds Mista’s waist through muscle memory, but the other reaches up to brush through his hair. It’s… soft? Really soft. Cute.

Narancia looks at his boyfriend, looks at his boyfriend’s stupid hair, and considers. It’s absurd and it’s absolutely ridiculous, but it’s not bad. 

“I like your hair.” Narancia decrees. 

“You’re bullshitting me.”

“I’m not.” 

“You totally are.”

Narancia smiles, huffing out another laugh. “I do like your hair, idiot.” 

“Really?”

“Really.”

Mista’s pout melts into something warm and soft, a lopsided grin playing at his lips. “Oh.”

Neither of them could tell you how long they stayed like that, Narancia running his hands through Mista’s hair and Mista relaxing to the touch, but from that day forward Narancia can and will and does take some pride in the fact that he’s the only one to see beneath Mista’s hat, and the others are left to theorize.

roaming mass ef.fect androm.eda related things because what if I find interesting tips or mods, I came across something that I found funny. most of the people headcanon scott ry.der as this cool hardass guy, when his sister sar.a is more of a free-spirited hippy child, while I’m like the opposite rn because helena ry.der is a tough practical cookie, taking after her tough professional father, whom she loved btw --- actually this situation is not far from her canon and it fits sorta perfectly. while scott is headcanoned as the artistic free-love kinda child whose hair is bright orange and beard is geometrically styled.

meanwhile dr. t pe.rro’s AI report thingy figured her out perfectly, saying she’s very analytical but doesn’t hesitate to take action in the field, which leads her to believe that in personal conversations she’s actually self-restrained and holding back - wow. plus it says smth about humour and sarcasm being her survival coping mechanisms, while irritating the authority figures who have to deal with her. so far this hel ry.der playthrough is way better than mine. and actually gives me a marvellous insight into hel/harold (her dad) relationship.

my immortal Darling. It feels dark, mysterious, and romantic. The way his says it feels vaguely threatening but in a hot way. You feel like you’re dating a vampire.

Dove. Now this one can have a double meaning, depending on how you look at it. On one hand it seems sweet, like he finds you adorable like a little bird. On the other hand he sees you as something to possess, to cage away and own, like a little bird.

Besides those two, there’s not much else. He refers to you as his significant other or other half in conversations with other people, but he likes to keep it fairly straightforward. He much prefers the sound of your name rolling off his tongue.

Mammon

His favorite, of course albeit cheesy, is Treasure. He’s the Avatar of Greed and you’re the most important thing he’s acquired throughout his many, many years. It’s only natural to call ya what ya are!

Next in line would be Doll or Dollface. Not only does it flow with his cadence of speech, but he thinks it fits you perfectly! He’d never admit it out loud, but he loves to dress ya up in whatever cute little outfit he bought you from majolish this week, and he just finds you so adorable. But he’ll also use this one when he wants to be a bit more sultry.

He loves to call you Human when he’s teasing you, or specifically his human. He used the one generally at first around others when he was first assigned as your guardian. Now it’s my human whenever someone decides to get a little bit too friendly with you

He also uses Puppy when he’s teasing you for wanting attention or being needy in bed. You can fight me on this, and you will lose.

Levi

Henry. Yes yes we already know this one but it means a lot to him! It means you’re his best friend and his whole world! It means he can show his endearment through something he is familiar and comfortable with. And! It’s dorky!

He refers to you as his Player Two in the context of being his teammate, or the one person he can count on or wants to partner up with for any specific task. Wherever one goes, the other follows

He has the most trouble calling you Baby. It makes him so flustered! But it’s worth it to see the smile on your face.

Satan

He’s a big fan of Dear. It’s not too sappy and it’s not too flashy. It’s a classic, and he believes it conveys perfectly how he feels out you. There’s nothing in any realm more dear to his heart than you.

He’s read one two many fairytales and now he can’t stop calling you Prince/Princess. He wants to treat you like royalty, and trust that he will. Now if you want to call him your prince, he’ll absolutely melt.

One of Beel’s favorites to cure his sweet tooth is Honey - and there’s on one sweeter than you! It’s like he can combine his two favorite things, food and you!

Babe. A lot of people give this one to Mammon, but I really feel it for Beel. He uses this one a lot in from of his Fangol teammates. As he gets ready to hit the field, he’ll give you a quick kiss before asking, “Will you cheer for me, Babe?”. It’s rhetorical of course, you’re his biggest fan.

Sugar. Okay, can you blame him? The only thing that can rival his gigantic cravings is his massive love for you. Plus, if your nickname is good related, it reminds him how hungry he is, then he can invite you to come snack with him. It’s a win-win!

Belphie

Belphie physically cannot stop himself from calling you Cutiepie. Gosh, he gets of have one of those cherished humans he was so fascinated by all to himself? and you’re just so adorable? He can’t help it when he fawns all over you.

Sunshine. You were the shimmering, beautiful light that pulled him out of the dark place he has hidden himself away in all those years ago. You helped him move on from Lilith, you helped him see the good in humans again, and you helped him see that his brothers really do truly care for him. Now, you are the light that guides him.

He uses Beautiful the most generally. He doesn’t feel embarrassed saying it in front of his brothers, and he gets to compliment you at the same time.

it started off as a joke

you know how everyone suspected that you two are dating because of how incredibly close both of you are

but you're not

so you two foolishly decided to get along with it

you wanted to see how many of your peers will be deceived by your silly prank

so you both decided to bet on it

he put a bet on at most 50 people including students and teachers will be deluded of your fake romantic relationship with him

but you brush him off and you snort,

"50?! you don't believe in us don't you?"

you push yourself forward using your elbow as you lean closer to him

your mouth near his ear and the side of your face almost touching his', you peer around to scan the room

every pair of eyes in the cafeteria managed to dot at your direction at least once before whispering among their friends

"look everyone's looking at us." your face holds a smear. you propose confidently as you whisper to his ear

"i bet on everyone."

you lock eyes with him before drawing yourself back to your seat

the bet is settled; 50 vs everyone

each day rolled out easily, you two doing things together like you normally would

you two managed to make every player in the volleyball team believe about the two of you, suga even said "i saw it coming."

it was all fine until one afternoon when daichi seemed down

or rather preoccupied of his thoughts

in fact, what makes it more odd is how he invited you to walk with him after practice

you are neither flustered nor thrilled, in contrast you're disturbed and troubled

because one you hate meeting with strangers, two it's hard for you to get comfortable with a person so most probably you will reject the anonymous pursuant that leads to, three, you are not good with rejections

panic takes over your motor skills and leads you to his room, your voice came out rushed

"kiyoomi!" you call and his head swiftly turns to you. you gesture at him to come out and meet you at the hallway

thank god there's one person in this entire school body that you're completely comfortable with

he meets you out and you immediately ramble

"this is a confession and im sure of it. i hate meeting with strangers, you know that. so do me a favor, please?" you wave the envelope at him at an eye level. his eyebrows presses together

"hm?" he hums at you questionably, suspicious of your so-called 'favor'

"be my boyfriend." you blurt out making his eyes widen and his face crumple in an expression you are not sure of

he looks away as he tucks his hand inside the pockets of his trousers

"you don't have to do anything just stand there, hold my hand, and pretend to be my boyfriend." his eyes shift back to you and you know him well enough so you add "i will sanitize my hand before we hold hands. i bought my alcohol today, i promise."

your eyes glimmers cutely like cat as his orbs held yours. he sighs before running his fingers through his hair

"fine." he agrees, making you jump in delight. the mask hinders you to see his face but the duchenne marks around his eyes gives off his smile

you jog pass him but stops halfway. you turn around and screamed his name once more

"kiyo!" his body is in sideview but his head is turned to you. you blow him a kiss using your hand before jogging back to your room

you swear to yourself you saw him giggle at your stupid display of affection

the day ends and you find yourself at the school's field with sakusa next to you

a boy from your year emerges from the stairs, the sound of his footsteps resonates with your pacing heartbeat

he stands before you and confirms his identity by saying he's the one who sent the letter and told you he likes you

his eyes kept darting at sakusa

you open your mouth but no words came out, your vocal chords are not working and your mind is not forming the words you practiced all day

sakusa then, by surprise, coil his hand over yours. four of his fingers curled at the space between your thumb and the rest

"she's my girlfriend, we're dating. im sorry but she's already mine." he speaks those words clearly like he already knew what to say

the stranger then nods and leaves the two of you behind

you look at him with your face dumdfounded

"he's gone. you can let go now." your voice hushed

he turns his hand around so his fingers intertwine between yours. he gives your hand a gentle squeeze

"can you handle two confessions at the same day?" his tone is serious. he unhooks his mask from his ear and keeps it inside his backpockets.

"i like you." your mouth falls ajar at the sudden confession yet your stomach twists in a good way

"i know you suck at rejecting people because you get embarrassed easily so let go of my hand if you're rejecting me." he waits for you to move

you pull him close using your intertwined hands and you rest your forehead on his chest as your face paints red

"stupid." you murmur "i like you, too." you bite the insides of your cheeks. you feel a hand crawling up to the back of your head, caressing it gently

"good." he hums contently

you finally decided to share your concern with asahi

"i think a man is following me home every night. it started the other day. it's freaking me out, asahi."

he wips his head at you and looks at you in worry, he didn't think that your concern will involve something big

"ill walk you home tonight." he says as ties his hair into a bun. "also, the day after that until he leaves you alone."

you smile at him teeth showing, endeared by his generous offer

"can i refer to you as my boyfriend when we're out in the streets? so, you know the stalker would know im with you and basically assumes someone waits for me after school and checks on me when i get home?"

he breaks eye contact and purses his lips, his uneasy hand grabs onto his water bottle

"sure, that won't be a problem. i guess." he shows you a sheepish smile before turning around as if to hide his face, "ill leave you here. practice is about to start." he jogs away.

the next days feel like an excuse to hang out after school. the first night asahi is walking you home is exactly what he promised but the following days are spent in cafés and local parks to 'stir the stalker away from your house'

and you calling him boyfriend has become your nickname for him when you're teasing him

even if you two are in school

if prior to the incident both of you are already close then damn your closeness to him right now is not up to par to the previous one

to the point that you two spend lunch breaks together

which is weird because you never do that

usually he would hang out with the third years of the volleyball team and you with your friends

but some days are spent together

and no one is asking why

you sit in front of him at the cafeteria as you chew on rice and meat

"asahi." you figured to break the news to him first because you wanted to see his reaction

"someone confessed to me this morning. third year, tall, and huge." you swallow your food. you watch him as he releases an egg roll from his chopsticks

you saying this is basically telling him you don't need him anymore

why pretend to be your boyfriend and walk you home if you're already getting one?

"what did you say?" he looks at you intently waiting for you to answer

"does my answer wavers your reaction?" you are not sure why you're saying this but somehow it feels right to ask

"probably." he shrugs, placing his chopsticks on top of his bento box

"and if i say i rejected him, how would you react?" he lets out a soft giggle and suddenly you feel stupid for asking nonsense questions

you know at the back of your head you were expecting him to act jealous or defensive but instead he lets out a laugh

you feel like a fool for believing he might reciprocate the vague feelings you have for him

"forget it." you lower your head

"i'd be happy." he says after a few seconds of pause making you look back at him. the corner of his lips pull upwards

"i would be happy since it means i might have a chance on you." his voice resonates in your ear like a familiar lullaby, easing the tension that built in your chest

he observes your tight lipped response and when you remained silence he carries the conversation

"so, do i have a chance?" he repeats his words. his tone is careful almost like he's testing the waters

"yes, of course. why do you think i spend most of my time with you."

you look at him but he tears his gaze away from you. your eyes catches on a crimson tint on his face

"you're blushing."

"am not."

"yes you are!" you giggle. your eyes feast on every curve of his face from his forehead down to his chin. "god, why are you so cute." you smile at his charming face

"how can i not blush when you're looking at me like that?" he says and you can feel your heart softening for him even more

Taako having Magnus taste-test pastries for him to ensure they’re perfect, but Magnus thinks they all taste good and eats a couple from each batch before Taako realizes he’s not helping that much.  He shoos Magnus out, and Magnus jokingly whines and fusses.  Later Magnus gets a tummy ache and Taako teases him while he rubs his boyfriend’s aching belly, soothing him until he falls asleep.

Taako always insists on being little spoon, but Magnus wouldn’t mind getting cuddled himself.  He’s too embarrassed to say it early on in their relationship, though, because he’s so much bigger than Taako.  One night he sleepily tells Taako all this as they’re falling asleep.  He wakes up in the middle of the night to find Taako spooning him from behind, arms wrapped possessively around Magnus’ soft tummy.

Taako comes home from his recent five month Sizzle it Up tour to find that Magnus has reverted to his garbage bachelor-style eating habits.  He was not eating regular meals, and what he does eat is the equivalent of Fantasy Easy-Mac, so Taako insists on making him a huge “real” meal when he finds out.  He insists on feeding it to Magnus because he’s “obviously forgotten how to feed himself”.  Magnus can’t complain, the attention and the food is really good.

Magnus’ tummy being warm and soft to the touch, and Taako can’t resist putting his head on it when they’re relaxing.  Taako falling asleep with his head resting on Magnus’ belly, so happy and content with his big soft guy.  Magnus being completely overwhelmed with affection for this person who loves him, all of him, so much.

•Kaito is a super affectionate boyfriend, so cuddling with him is really nice!

•He always tries to be the big spoon, he really enjoys the feeling of holding you in his arms, like he’s keeping you safe.

•If you ever want to be big spoon, Kaito may complain a bit but he’ll eventually give in, he secretly enjoys being little spoon anyway.

•Kaito loves having you sit in his lap, he normally has his arms wrapped around you tightly with his chin gently resting on your head.

•Also his hugs? Amazing. Beautiful. Chef’s Kiss.

•He squeezes you super tight and lifts you into the air, occasionally he’ll spin you around as well!

maybe for writing, discussing headcanons with someone? I've noticed that working with someone else who has my same hcs works wonders, I'm also in a fair amount of discords for my fandoms and one has a prompt bot, and a headcanon around it

thanks for sending this so long ago, anon. i thought it was good advice back then, but didn't really know how to make use of it because while i have *my* versions of my faves in my head, like other fic writers, i don't spend a lot of time deliberately thinking about my headcanons. other than occasionally doing an ask game for hcs, in the writing process i'm just winging it?

that might sound weird, but i suppose i don't know what i think about ships and characters until i'm deciding in any particular story. then i'll often hold onto that decision and keep it in mind in future writing, but it just doesn't occur to me outside of that process much.

plus i have such widespread interests that i don't have a collection of people i discuss headcanons with--too many of my fandoms are small ones where i know almost no one, let alone someone who interprets things the same way as me.

so in the time since you suggested this, i've confirmed a truth i already knew: my only surefire cure for writing issues, whether the problem is writer's block or a plot snag or a lack of ideas, is talking things over with @actuallylukedanes.

because they're also a writer, and a fic writer whose strengths are different from mine, and we live together so we chat every day, it doesn't matter that we don't share a ton of fic fandoms. any time i talk to them, even if i'm just venting and not looking for solutions, i always come away with some and they leave me feeling encouraged.

they're really just the best. :) most recently they were trying to help me with my 'what am i gonna do in 2022?' frustration and i think my plan will be a regular practice, some kind of minific challenge where i try to be more like them (always a good goal when i'm coming back from a drought because they're prolific and dedicated) and i worry less about character voice or fandom pickiness, until i'm less rusty.

OH ALSO the prompt bot thing is cool! i find prompts so helpful, even if the ones people send me don't inspire something immediately so i hang onto them in case i'll be able to fill them later and then i never do and i feel horribly guilty and it keeps me from writing other things.

i should look into something like that bot so i can have the benefits of prompts without the guilt, while i'm rebuilding muscle memory.

Welllll it’s more that I haven’t had any word prompts in a few weeks so it kinda fizzled out… I don’t think I explicitly said I wasn’t doing them anymore so you’re okay!! Tbh I don’t really know what I’m doing, my ask box isn’t really closed but it’s also not really open, I’m also not supposed to be doing extra requests, I’m supposed to be finishing my fic/scenario prompts, but I also enjoy answering people’s headcanon questions and I’ve been doing that lately to try and cure my writer’s block… So Idk. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling, my point is, you’re fine, and thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy my blog :)

Fire: What is the most important thing for them in a relationship?

I think what he’d value most is compassion. 

I’m cheating a little bit because there’s a lot of things wrapped up with that, but compassion. Empathy, patience, kindness - but also the wisdom to not get lost in those things at the detriment of everything else. You’re able to offer up a new outlook, one of levity, of understanding - not one laced in anger and suffering and bitterness and it changes his world. Your kindness doesn’t make you a pushover - instead there’s courage in it. That you keep choosing to see be good, to see the good in others, in the world, in him, even when you’ve been handed enough proof that you might see the opposite. Your compassion enables him to see him for what he is, and though he’s scared of being seen, truly seen, it lets him know you won’t regret it either. You offer him enough space to heal, and you keep pulling him back after all his attempts to push you away, because you know exactly what he’s doing and you take it in your stride. Kakashi knows the value of compassion through the pain he’s been through, not because he was ever taught it was something important - but you just know it to your core. It’s such a huge contrast to who he as a shinobi, or at least who he was at the start, and he really needs it in his life and in his relationship.

Rust: Do they like themselves?

Well, frankly- no. It’s tricky because Kakashi has a strong awareness of his reputation, his adulations, his strength and skill which is important because if he’s not realistic about his abilities and prowess it could be detrimental in a battle - but he’s also very humble and modest, and is the first to put himself down. He doesn’t like himself very much, and his entire character is laced with so much regret and survivor’s guilt that he’s not even let himself develop as a person beyond that because he doesn’t really think he deserves it. 

Since I’m approaching this with Kakashi having an s/o... The answer is still no. However, he’s made a lot of strides to improve this about himself. He’s a lot more forgiving, and a lot more accepting. Of his flaws, his past, his humanity. It’s in huge part due to you. At his most vulnerable, he might ask you what you see in a man like him. You could have any man you wanted, yet you chose him. It genuinely perplexes him. The question comes in a quiet, gravelly voice. He’s on top of you, after making the decision to take you to his bed that night and he stops, staring at you wide-eyed. Of course, you’re taken aback, and you tell him just what you see in him. He doesn’t quite believe you once you’re done, but it’s enough to satisfy him. He’s convinced you believe it, at the very least, and something in your earnest, shaky voice makes him want to try to believe it, to at least try not to give into his self-doubt and loathing. So he takes you, fully, openly. You slowly help him see that there is some value in him, that he could be valuable to someone in a way that isn’t just being a shinobi, soldier, tool, human weapon - whatever you want to call it. He’s never really gonna love himself - after everything he’s been through, he’s very evasive of anything resembling arrogance, however slightly. But he doesn’t take all he’s done that’s good, all the lives he’s saved and everything he’s helped improve for granted anymore. He begins to see his worth, and even if he doesn’t like himself completely, he doesn’t loathe himself. He’s started to heal. Yes, he’s made mistakes. Yes, he’s not perfect. But he’s not all that bad either. He might even be a victim of circumstance in some cases. He’s not so bad that he doesn’t deserve to begin to be happy, at least.
