i always forget how bizarre it is to people to hear exes are still friends even after they breakup

like. personally, we were Friends first and foremost. we werent just partners - beneath all of that, we were friends. and some ppl can have clean breakups and never speak to each other again, some ppl can have messy breakups and still rekindle that friendship

for others, yeah it's better and healthier to cut contact completely. for some, friendship is an amazing idea. sometimes you dont wanna lose those people, so yeah, i always get surprised when people are like 🤨😨 when they see exes being friends

"just get back together atp" no??? friendship is a whole lot different to romance. forgive me if i wanna let go of the romance to make way for a better friendship
