I’m sick of the drama about feminine Louis. They’re not trying to protect Louis at all, they’re just mad that for once a black man is being portrayed as soft and now they want to gatekeep the fics. But notice how when the reverse happens these blogs have NOTHING to say. Transparent ass bitches. I’m gonna write some loustat mpreg with bottom louis especially for these haters. Black fandom can’t have anything for themselves bc of people like this.

Okay, but, Bruce gentle parenting the fuck out of the Justice League is literally such a funny concept. Like, the only reason it works so well is because of the overwhelming amount JL Daddy Issues; they’re all secretly desperate for some parental affection and Bruce is so naturally a Dad that he can’t help himself.
That gold star thing he used to do with Dick? Where he gave him a little star every time he kept himself safe during a patrol? Same thing works perfectly for Clark. He’s literally indestructible (but Bruce worries) so whenever he comes out unscathed from a battle (which is most of the time) he’ll hand Clark a little golden star sticker. Clark collects those things like they’re priceless artifacts and sticks them on his laptop.
The anger management therapy he did with Jason? Where he’d run through katas (a series of choreographed martial arts movements) whilst doing breathing exercises? Works like a charm on Diana and Dinah. They’re both super powered, so anything Bruce puts in front of her they’ll destroy, so going through a good old fashioned kata before a big mission will help them both focus without risking the destruction of the Watchtower.
The mindful meditation he did with Tim? When they’d sit in silence until Tim’s brain finally trained itself to know rest? It’s the perfect thing for Barry. He’s a speedster so his brain moves at about the same pace as Bruce and Tim’s (though maybe not quite as analytically); the post-mission meditation sessions are the perfect thing to help him calm down.
The art therapy he did with Damian? Where they’d paint memories that brought them pain/loneliness/loss/sadness because talking about it was too hard? Surprisingly, both John and Hal are into it. (Must be a Lantern thing.) Neither of them are great artists, but John paints about his time in the army and Hal about his time in the Air Force. They’ve both lost friends and comrades, have seen the worst of humanity up close, and just can’t always verbalize that feelingly of powerlessness even though their the galaxy’s greatest warriors—but they can paint it.
The silent chess games he’d play with Cassandra? Where’d they’d sit there and pick each others brains without having to say a word, could communicate an immense amount of emotion with the slide of a pawn? Great for Jon. He can’t talk into Bruce’s mind (not without considerable effort) and he can’t really talk to Bruce about everything that happened to him on Mars, but they can sit and play chess until they both have a mutual understanding of one another’s trauma.
All the crocheting he’s done with Steph? Where they’d sit in front of a fireplace in Wayne Manor and discuss their similarly complex relationships with their parents? Loved to do this with Arthur, of all people. They have to get waterproof Atlantean yarn, but the efforts worth the creations they make during Monitor duty, and it’s one of those rare time when Arthur can really vent about all of his troubles leading a life above and below sea, being a king, his love life—anything. Bruce will always listen.
And then, all of the soccer that he’s played with Duke? Where they’d let loose and just be competitive? Cyborg similarly appreciates this, but prefers football, naturally. Now, Bruce is too old to tackle a Mother-Box-Enhanced human, but that doesn’t stop him from covertly setting up pick-up football games on the front lawn of the Hall of Justice every other week.
So yeah. Bruce and his gentle parenting.

hellooo, your writing is amazing so far i love it 🫶🏼
Could you do one for Hobie x fem reader, where the reader is friends with SpiderPunk AND Hobie. But she doesn’t know they’re the same person. And one day lovergirl rants about her fat ah crush on Hobie to him??
First off, thank you for enjoining my writing, I try my best with what working brain cells I have left 🤣
Ooh I love this idea very much! But I might make it a two parter cuz I defiantly went off request…oops…
Part 2
You were just minding your business, chilling on the roof top of an abandoned apartment complex, mind a million miles elsewhere on a certain somebody when a flash of red and blue caught your eye and before you knew it; you company of one had became a company of two.
‘Heya Spidey, how are things?’ You greeted.
He shrugs, ‘the usual but what about you lil missis,’ he playfully nudges you, ‘head so far off into the clouds I’m actually feeling a little neglected over here.’ You laughed, shoving him away by his arm. ‘Oh come off it, will you? I just been thinking about this guy I’ve liked for a while now.’ You admitted and Hobie’s interest was immediately peaked.
For as long as he knew you, Hobie could barely remember the last time you had ever admitted to him in fancying someone, besides from a couple of incidences from way back that ended up backfiring; but other then that, you kinda made it a point not to talk about it, maybe in due to him thinking that whoever you did fancy at the time weren’t worth the effort you’d give had you perused them. You had often called him overprotective whenever you tell him about your crush of the week but Hobie would defend himself by saying he was merely looking out for you and didn’t want you getting hurt by some douchebag.
‘You don’t have to defend me from everything Hobie,’ you once told him as you were patching him up from beating the breaks off of your last crush because they were chatting shit about you behind your back, ‘whilst as sweet as it is but you can’t always be there to look out for me.’
‘Watch me.’ He replied, his view remaining completely unchanged. You sighed, knowing that once Hobie’s mind was made up, nothing you nor anyone else could do to change that. He was an akin to that of an immovable object when it came to his beliefs and views and it was amongst the many things you adored and admired about him most.
‘Oh yeah? And who’s the lucky guy?’ He asked casually leaning back on his arms, watching as you brought your knees close to your chest before resting your chin upon them as your eyes gaze out at nothing in particular; something Hobie noticed you often do when you were particularly in your feelings and needed something to hold onto and ground yourself before you became adrift in your own sea of emotions. It was cute to see you tucked in on yourself so tightly that he couldn’t be more thankful for the fact that you couldn’t see how dopey he must’ve looked beneath his mask.
‘Hobie. Hobie Brown.’
He blinked twice, nah, he must’ve heard that wrong, surely, his hearing must be going all scewiff.
‘Hobie Brown.’ He said his own name as though it was the first time he was ever saying it. Upon seeing the way your shoulders drop and your body becoming at ease upon hearing his name, along with the way you smiled gently and how your eyes seemed to beam with newfound light which all had only helped In affirming to Hobie that he did indeed hear you the first time. ‘What is it about the guy that’s got you all up in knots?’ He asked, trying to act as though you didn’t just indirectly admitted that you’ve got a crush on him to him.
‘Where do I start.’ You started, unable to fight against your own feelings that were swelling up within your chest when an image of Hobie appeared in the forefront of your mind, he was sat on your bed, eyes closed as he allowed himself to get lost within his guitar rifts, his calloused fingers expertly transitioned from chord to chord as it were muscle memory. ‘He’s just so cool and awesome and so forthright and opinionated in his views and beliefs that he’s not afraid to back down from a fight should it come down to it.’ You tell him with a sense of fondness in your voice.
Hobie was quick to notice how your hand fiddle with one of the many handmade pins he’s made you that you always paired up with any and every outfit you ever wore, even if they styles did clash but you didn’t seem to care; Whatever the reason for you reaching for the pins were, whether it’d be out of a need to feel out the closest thing you had in regards to him or it was just something you did out of habit, made Hobie warm within his chest that soon spread throughout his body. ‘Sounds like me and this Hobie guy are more alike then I originally thought.’
Your fingers stopped their fiddling and you suddenly looked at him as though you were just now realising something with the way your eyes bore into him, Hobie thought that you might’ve developed the ability to see through the mask that withheld his identity and into him, so much so that he couldn’t help but make a comment on it, ‘stare at me any harder sweetheart and your stare might burn right through my mask.’ You must’ve been deep into your thinking as you didn’t seem to have noticed that he had spoken at all and Hobie was starting to think that he might’ve been too relaxed with you as Spider-Man that you might have started to have it pieced together in your mind; after all you were smart, more so then what you give yourself credit for.
‘Now that you’ve mentioned it you and Hobie do share some of the same attributes and habits, I’m also pretty sure your similar height wise and even though your mask muffled your voice, it fills me with a sense of familiarity that it’s hard for me to put a finger on.’ You said as you leaned closer to him until you were partially merely a breath away from each other. Hobie didn’t know he was holding in a breath until you shrugged ‘but I could just be grasping at a straws, so I won’t dwell on it as much.’ and moved away from him back to your previous position.
As much as he would’ve loved to have you figure out his identity on your own terms. Hobie would prefer it best if he were the one to reveal himself to you but the moments where he wanted to never felt right and he didn’t want to you in danger by doing so, but he knew that there’d come a time where he would be greeted with a choice in wether to tell you the truth as to who he was or continue living like he has currently and potentially loose your trust because of his lack of transparency; Hobie couldn’t bear to think of loosing your trust but just as he has always done since becoming your friend, he was merely looking out for you and for your safety as they were always his top priorities.

maidenless board game club headcanons
Time to bully Azul and Idia :)) I often picture their club meetings being just them shit talking the other person and calling them rizzless…
Any and all mentions of the reader are meant to be gender neutral; gendered terms may still appear in these headcanons, but never in reference to the reader.
Curiouser and Curiouser...
Azul likes to think he’s suave and could bag “anyone he set his mind to.” Eh, why hasn’t he tried to woo anyone then? For him, he states it’s a matter of pride!! He would never be emotionally vulnerable to just anyone, you know. A-And besides, he’s focusing on his business and personal growth right now, he doesn’t have the time to toy with hearts! (Or so Azul insists.)
The reality is, he has never kissed anyone outside of his family. Just soft pecks on the cheeks in greeting, mainly to his mother and grandma. Azul would never admit this out loud though, he thinks it detracts from his “cool” persona.
The thing about Azul is that he overthinks EVERYTHING. He’ll sit there and map out every possible thing that could happen on a date and how he will prepare to handle them. This includes what to say and when he should smile when speaking… He’s charming, yes, and starts off with a strong first impression—but he also tends to come off as too rehearsed or humble bragging about his accomplishments.
Azul’s desperate for a S/O not because he wants one per se, but because he wants validation that he is, in fact, attractive and desirable. After all, he made such an effort to change himself and to come off as confident, intelligent, and capable. He would like to bask in the reassurance that his efforts were worth it, because now he can “have” whoever he wants.
Aaand therein lies another problem. Azul is still stuck in the mindset that relationships are transactional. You do a favor for him? Well, he has to match it. He gives you a gift? Then he expects one back. Yet Azul keeps himself to an emotional distance, too afraid to be completely honest about his flaws.
Idia thinks the issue is Azul’s personality. When Azul demands to know what exactly his clubmate means by that. Idia just sneers and goes off on a tirade. According to him, Azul-shi may look like he’s got everything put together, but since he’s actually a greedy scumbag, no amount of expensive cologne or nice clothes can cover up a rotten core.
Sometimes he and Idia just head back to the Mostro Lounge and pour one out (non-alcoholic drinks like fruit juice) to drown their sorrows. Jade and Floyd show great interest in these sessions, but Azul is cautious about letting any truly embarrassing experiences slip out.
The twins will occasionally dare him to snag a date with whichever random person walks through the doors to the Mostro Lounge next. Azul initially took these as personal challenges and did his utmost to win these dares, but after a string of embarrassing flops he now knows better than to be baited.
Idia is scared of 3D people and prefers to stick to his anime waifus and aidorus. REAL people could never compare! They’re too flawed and unpredictable—and, worst of all, they don’t come with dialogue options and affection meters to help Idia gauge what to do/say and when the Love Flags will trigger! What’s an introverted otaku to do?
He’s the type to openly disparage happy couples and love while secretly craving the warm touch of a flesh and blood person in the depths of his soul. His ideal is a kawaii gamer who’s into all the same things he is! … Unfortunately, he’s way too shy and unconfident to ever take a stab at it!! This is his way of coping.
He goes into the chats of his favorite streamers and tosses tons of money to get his comment read and to be noticed. Idia is the type to get super parasocial with the objects of his affection (he owns all the merch, goes to the events (virtually), has had a membership since day 1, etc.), even if he scoffs at the idea when directly confronted about it.
Literally bro spends his free time moderating Discord servers and Subreddits to complain about dating. Oh, but then the INSTANT he learns a user is single he starts treating them completely differently, calling them cute and his kitten or whatever. It’s amazing how much boldness he gains from behind the safety and comfort of a screen.
He doesn’t realize the value Ortho has as a wingman. Some people are super into the idea of doting on a younger sibling or dating a guy that loves his family—but Idia never brings these up as aspects of himself. Idia often vents about dating to his little bro and then tells Ortho he’s so lucky he doesn’t have to put up with stupid complex human emotions like love. Ortho just stares at him and begs his big bro to not get catfished.
He unfortunately drives people off with his sometimes pompous attitude. He’ll challenge others’ knowledge about his favorite media and get into extended arguments with them about the subjects he’s passionate about. Only “true” fan are allowed here! If you don’t get it, Idia will mansplain to you for hours at a time over VC.
Idia’s frequently the first to instigate (verbal) fights with Azul over their appeal in the dating scene. Offended, Azul usually fires back with some remark about how Idia hasn’t even witnessed him making eye contact with a REAL living, breathing woman. “Fictional women and a ghost bride do NOT count!”
You're nice to Idia ONCE (like, you let him borrow a pencil because he forgot his for an exam) and BOOM instantly this guy is lurking in the corners, giggling creepily ("Hihihihihi...") and shyly watching you from a distance. He's way too anxious to actually try and shoot his shot, but now he's fully convinced you're into him. (Idia lives out his fantasies with you in life sim games to cope with not having you irl 💀)

You’ve been working hard to create a stable and fulfilling life for yourself, but there’s a quiet part of you that feels like something’s missing. You’ve learned to rely on yourself so much that you sometimes wonder if emotional connection is even worth the effort. Deep down, you might feel like letting people in has only ever led to disappointment or complications. You have a tendency to second-guess your emotions, especially when it comes to love and vulnerability. Maybe you’ve dealt with people who were inconsistent, emotionally immature, or who didn’t respect your boundaries, which left you feeling like you have to do all the emotional heavy lifting. Now, you may keep your guard up, unsure whether others are capable of meeting your depth and sincerity. At the same time, there’s a part of you that craves genuine love—a kind that’s calm, steady, and safe. You dream of a connection with someone who understands you without you having to explain yourself repeatedly, someone who offers love in a way that feels healing rather than draining. You want a partner who’s emotionally present, someone who matches your maturity and can help you feel secure in love again. Still, you might struggle with overthinking or even self-doubt. You sometimes catch yourself replaying situations in your head, wondering if you were “too much” or not enough. Maybe you hesitate to express how you really feel because you’re afraid it might be misunderstood or used against you. These fears are valid—after all, you’ve had to learn the hard way that not everyone values love the same way you do.
But here’s the exciting part: there’s a spark coming into your life. It could be a person or a situation that reignites your hope and excitement for love. It’s bold, thrilling, and full of potential to transform the way you view relationships. It won’t just bring passion; it’ll remind you of the joy and beauty of connection. The person or situation entering your life next is likely to feel entirely different from what you’ve experienced in the past. They embody emotional maturity, kindness, and the ability to connect on a level that feels safe and reassuring. This could be someone who understands the complexities of relationships, who isn’t afraid of vulnerability, and who approaches love with patience and care. Their energy will feel steady and comforting, like an anchor after a storm.
This next chapter in your love story isn’t just about finding someone—it’s about rediscovering your power to embrace love while still standing firm in your independence. It’s about letting yourself feel the passion and excitement that you’ve been longing for, without losing the sense of self you’ve worked so hard to build.

You might feel like you’re constantly at a crossroads, reflecting on where you’ve been and where you’re going. Sometimes it feels like you’re stuck in a cycle, unable to fully break free from old patterns or emotions. You’ve worked hard to create stability in your life, but there’s a lingering sense that something is missing, like there’s a piece of the puzzle you just can’t find. Even when opportunities present themselves, you might feel disconnected from them, unsure if they’re what you truly want or deserve. Deep down, you might struggle with emotional blockages that make it hard to fully open up or embrace new beginnings. There’s a part of you that wonders if love—true, reciprocal love—is even out there for you. Past experiences may have left you feeling like relationships are unbalanced, where you give more than you receive. You’ve likely dealt with people who took advantage of your kindness or made you question your worth. These experiences might make you cautious, reluctant to fully trust or hope for something better. At times, you might feel torn between wanting to connect and fearing the vulnerability that comes with it. You could overthink interactions, replaying conversations in your head or wondering if you’ve done too much or too little. You have high standards for yourself and for others, and you’re deeply aware of how unfair life or love has felt in the past. This self-awareness, while powerful, can sometimes make you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
But here’s the truth: you’re entering a phase where you reclaim your power and step into your full potential. The energy coming into your life is one of balance and reciprocity, where you finally experience the kind of connection that feels equal and fulfilling. You’re learning to embody confidence, to own your worth, and to stand unapologetically in your power. You’ll attract people and opportunities that match your energy, who see you for the incredible person you are and are eager to meet you halfway. This next chapter isn’t just about external love—it’s about falling in love with yourself again. It’s about knowing that you deserve respect, admiration, and care without having to overthink or over-give to earn it. The right people and situations will naturally align with you because you’re radiating confidence, self-worth, and clarity.

You might feel like you’re in a strange limbo, constantly questioning everything but struggling to find clarity. There’s a part of you that feels like you don’t have the full picture—whether it’s in love, friendships, or your life path. It’s almost as if you’re stuck in a cycle of overthinking and second-guessing your own intuition. You may feel like people are keeping things from you or that you’re disconnected from your own inner knowing. This sense of uncertainty can be frustrating, leaving you wondering if you’re moving forward or just treading water. At the same time, you crave stability, celebration, and a sense of belonging. Deep down, you long for a connection or environment that feels like home—a space where you can truly be yourself without fear of judgment. You might fantasize about building a life filled with joy, partnership, and shared milestones, yet it feels just out of reach. Even when moments of happiness or connection come, there’s a part of you that hesitates to fully embrace them, unsure if they’ll last or if you can trust them to be real. A big part of what’s holding you back is resistance to change. You might be clinging to old patterns, relationships, or fears because they feel familiar, even if they’re not serving you anymore. Transformation can feel scary, especially when it requires letting go of what you thought was certain. You may find yourself revisiting old wounds, memories, or even people, trying to make sense of why they still have a hold on you. It’s as if you’re standing on the edge of change but not quite ready to take the leap. This hesitation might also leave you feeling isolated or disconnected. You might want guidance but avoid reaching out, feeling like you need to figure things out on your own. There’s a fear of being vulnerable, of letting people see your struggles or doubts. But this isolation isn’t helping—it’s keeping you stuck in your own head, where those same questions and fears repeat over and over.
What’s coming for you is the opportunity to finally break free. The universe is urging you to embrace change, to let go of the old patterns and beliefs that are keeping you stuck. You’re being called to trust yourself, to connect with your inner wisdom, and to step into the light after a long period of introspection. This next chapter will bring moments of clarity and joy, moments where you feel like you’re finally stepping into alignment with your true self. It’s about learning to trust the process, even when it feels uncertain, and to lean on others when you need support. You’re moving toward a life where you feel more connected—not just to others, but to yourself and the path you’re meant to walk. It’s time to stop holding onto what’s familiar and take that leap of faith. The transformation you’ve been resisting is exactly what will bring you the joy and freedom you’ve been longing for. Trust that the universe has your back, and let yourself move forward. The only thing standing in your way now is the fear of stepping into your own power.

Non-Cliche Astro Takes:
☾𖤓 hey there! I’m Deidre, I’m a professional tarot reader and musician, and I’ve been studying the occult for about a decade. Here are some less-commonly noted astrology observations that I’ve picked up on over the years. For more posts like this, tarot readings, esoteric content, and music, give me a follow. Enjoy! ☾𖤓
꩜ Aries aren’t loud for no reason, and depending on their aspects to Mercury/where Mars is, they may not be loud at all. What people mistake for “loudness” is them being chronically unheard and/or repeatedly needing to express their softer feelings by way of frustration. They often feel that their softer emotions aren’t taken seriously until it turns to anger. It’s the only time their feelings are seemingly given any attention.
꩜ That stubbornness in Taurus that y’all love to poke fun at? A lot of the time, that’s them recognizing what they’re worth and accepting nothing less. They’re the type to turn down a “chump change” gig because they know it’s a waste of their energy and effort. Additionally, being Venus-ruled, they tend to are good at being “home-y” people. This only becomes a problem when they extend that cozy energy to the wrong people — they’d do well to learn from their sister sign’s (Scorpio) knack for privacy.
꩜ Gemini (especially Venus’) mean what they say when they utter the phrase “oh, I listen to anything.” Their playlists have the widest genre variety, easily. Their wardrobes are the same. One day, they’re rocking a goth getup, and the next they’re sashaying around in a Gunne-Sax gown like Florence Welch. Their versatility knows no bounds, which is often mistaken for being a “poser.” Their Mercurial minds hold much more information than they get credit for.
꩜ Cancer are much more vindictive than we realize. I’d argue much more than Scorpio (especially Cancer Moons). Don’t get me wrong, they’re sweethearts and are quite sensitive to the energetic world, but they pack a punch. Never forget that they’re a Cardinal sign just like Aries! They are most easily motivated when their tender hearts are considered by those around them.
꩜ Looking for a hype-person? Look no further than Leo. They’re like the intimidating “it-girl” except they want YOU to be the “it-girl” alongside them. Don’t be turned off by their confidence and bold exterior because they’re more than willing to spread that light to their loved ones. They are judged for being a bit selfish, but selfishness is not inherently bad/negative. Leo shows us how to shine without being ashamed.
꩜ Virgo is so much more than Excel, deep-cleaning, and organization. While yes, they value order, they only do so because they are a purifying energy. It’s easier for them to be their best selves and truly lean into the ‘healer’ archetype if their space, and mind, is clear. I’ve personally found that they have incredible intuitions, particularly Virgo rising. Being ruled by Mercury gives them one hell of a perceptive mind. They also are very good teachers/work well with children (Virgo moon/Mercury especially).
꩜ Why does everyone think that beautiful Libra is all golden-hour, Aphrodite, and Coquette aesthetics? As much as those things do play into Libra’s energy, we can’t forget that this sign is exalted in Saturn. Their shadow side is often over-looked or assumed not to exist at all because they are ruled by Venus. Many people are drawn to Libra initially because of their beautiful aura and natural glow, but those that understand Libra stick around because they recognize their depth. Libras can’t forget how multifaceted they are, though — don’t fall victim to the short-sighted projections of others!
꩜ Scorpio, the fiery water sign! Similarly to Libra, I see Scorpio get labeled as moody, brooding, dark, suffering artists. While they do have a tendency for the macabre at times, they cherish the opportunities they get to embrace their lighter side. Curling up with their favorite person and playing Animal Crossing on a couple of bean bags is a dream night to a lot of Scorpios. They have a vast inner world and a similar temperament to Aries (they’re both ruled by Mars, traditionally).
꩜ Sagittarius are, arguably, one of the more open-minded energies in the Zodiac. I feel sometimes their endless questions come across as judgmental to others, when it’s truly just them trying to satiate their curiosity. At their worst, they play Devil’s Advocate, but it’s mainly because they know what it feels like to have your voice dismissed (Sag moons/Mercury, imo). They are open books and love to spend time around different cultures, belief systems, languages, or anything considered “foreign” to them. Very prone to go down Wikipedia rabbit holes.
꩜ Capricorn is often viewed as rigid and cold, but that’s just their auto-pilot persona for before they’re comfortable. Their dry, sardonic humor is truly goat’d (pun intended). As with any Saturnian sign/aspect, these folks tend to carry a heavy burden from a young age. Often times, they love things from the past. History, literature, music, clothing styles, etc. Their “obsession” with money is more so a craving for stability. Capricorns (moons especially) have no problem playing the long game so…do with that information what you will.
꩜ As much as I love the alien Aquarius stereotype, these folks are truly outside-the-box thinkers. They seem “alien” and unable to relate to because they do not fit into any mold that has ever been expected of/placed on them. Also ruled by Saturn (traditionally), Aquarius takes the lessons they go through and usually want to use them to improve the world/their community. I think of them as the more “public” provider rather than an “interpersonal” provider like Capricorn.
꩜ Finally, my lovely Pisces. They’re not crybabies (really, they’re not…that’s Aries)they just have really bad allergies this time of year so give them a break! These little fish are hard to pin down and that’s how they like it. Being perceived really does bother them at times (Pisces stelliums/Moons, esp) so a healthy amount of alone time is a must. I’ve noticed they tend to love statues, plushies, and other artsy/collectible figurine-adjacent things. They’ll also watch holiday movies year-round (Halloween, Christmas, doesn’t matter).

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dfe33149da9b09de5bf220ffa89d3096/e6ef120d1bcecd41-59/s540x810/f9041ede7562a940ffab18639dc0cb90d266994b.jpg)
Gojo Satoru
Gojo is confident, cocky, and often exudes an aura of invincibility. However, he has a soft spot for his sensitive partner. Whenever they cry, he becomes incredibly attentive, using his playful humor to lighten the mood. He'll often resort to silly antics or ridiculous faces to make them laugh, believing that laughter is the best way to heal sadness. At night, he becomes the ultimate cuddle buddy, wrapping them in his arms to shield them from the harshness of the world, and whispers sweet nothings to reassure them of their worth.

Ryomen Sukuna
Sukuna is known for his ruthless and intimidating demeanor, which could clash with a sensitive partner. However, underneath that menacing exterior lies a surprising affinity for emotions. His partner’s tears intrigue him, prompting him to explore their feelings with a mix of curiosity and amusement. He might tease them about being too soft but secretly takes pride in being a source of comfort. Sukuna is fiercely protective of his sensitive partner, and while he may not show it openly, he relishes the moments when he can comfort them in his own unique way—sometimes with unexpected gentleness, despite his usual contempt for weakness.

Toji Fushiguro
Toji, with his hardened exterior and life as an assassin, may seem like an unlikely match for a sensitive partner. However, beneath his gruff temperament lies a surprising tenderness. He would feel a sense of responsibility to protect his partner’s fragile emotional state. At first, he might struggle to understand their tears, but over time, he learns to cherish those moments as opportunities for connection. Toji would take it upon himself to be their rock, offering a steady hand whenever they’re feeling particularly overwhelmed, all while jokingly telling them that they’re stronger than they think.

Yuji Itadori
Yuji embodies warmth and positivity, making him a natural fit for a sensitive partner. He is incredibly empathetic, always ready to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. When faced with tears, Yuji reacts with pure compassion, fully prepared to comfort them with hugs or by going out of his way to cheer them up—whether it's with spontaneous adventures or heartfelt conversations. He believes that everyone deserves to feel safe and loved, so he constantly reassures them that it’s okay to be vulnerable and that he’ll always be there for them, no matter the circumstances.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c271e885206ea220600410cf72a5fb94/e6ef120d1bcecd41-56/s540x810/fc14e23fea8b3320d3944716f6801a99f7cb9900.jpg)
Megumi Fushiguro
With his introverted and stoic nature, Megumi might initially find it challenging to handle his partner's sensitivity. However, he deeply cares for them and gradually learns how to navigate their emotions. Megumi would be patient and observant, quietly assisting them in understanding their feelings. He would offer small acts of kindness, perhaps surprising them with their favorite treat after a tough day or holding their hand during moments of unease. In those quiet moments, he becomes their safe haven, encouraging them to express themselves freely without the fear of judgment.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/475ec5a16570e87375ee94d2a9afd8ca/e6ef120d1bcecd41-88/s540x810/09e6ef5804e81d8ee5e80b651773d1d7174f2965.jpg)
Nobara Kugisaki
Nobara is fiercely independent and strong-willed, making her an interesting counterpart to a sensitive partner. At first, she would be taken aback by her partner’s emotional responses, thinking they need to toughen up. However, her protective instincts would kick in as she falls in love. Nobara would find herself making an effort to create a balance between her fierce persona and the gentle support her partner requires. She'd engage in heart-to-heart talks, encouraging her partner to stand strong while also giving them the space to express their feelings. In essence, Nobara would embody the perfect blend of strength and sensitivity.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6829729db8cba81fc039c8966e133c09/e6ef120d1bcecd41-34/s540x810/cb50cb0e7cbceac2d573fea161716b86d4c6b98a.jpg)
Mahito
Mahito’s playful yet unsettling nature presents a unique challenge when dealing with a sensitive partner. Initially, he might view their tears as a source of amusement, teasing them in a way that showcases his cruel side. Over time, however, he’d come to appreciate the emotional depth of their character. While it’s unlikely Mahito would change his nature completely, he might develop a twisted sense of affection for them, showcasing a more sinister form of care—challenging them to confront their fears and insecurities while still being there for them in his own peculiar way.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0c3559d7b813afb592dab594585ffa0f/e6ef120d1bcecd41-c1/s540x810/c2ef3f40d5d1af1002c0b34e14f2d78e06ccd9d1.jpg)
Maki Zenin
Maki's no-nonsense attitude and fierce dedication to her path create a strong yet complex dynamic with a sensitive partner. While she might appear intimidating, Maki has a profound understanding of struggle and would empathize deeply with her partner's emotions. She would fiercely protect them, using her own experiences to bring comfort and assurance. Maki would likely engage in motivational talks, urging her partner to embrace their sensitivity as a strength while also sharing her own vulnerabilities—creating a bond built on mutual understanding and respect.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ec5963067b6ee90c3870dd028e304bea/e6ef120d1bcecd41-42/s540x810/3f7a805ebca0fc11babe0d0bd4a8141ab410641c.jpg)
Suguru Geto
As a character with a tangled past, Geto possesses layers of complexity that can provide an intriguing backdrop for a relationship with a sensitive partner. Initially, he might relate to their emotional struggles on a deep level, often feeling overwhelmed by his own past. Geto would approach his partner's tears with understanding, providing a comforting presence as they navigate their emotions together. He would encourage them to express their feelings openly, believing that through this vulnerability, they could find strength. Together, they would form a bond that encourages healing and growth.

Headcanon: Katsuki Bakugou with a Chill, Nonchalant S/O
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f56a1caf05607ca61089f89ce19d49a0/7e7b82ea131a47a2-7d/s540x810/bbfde31c1a0fc274a71e51fa8cbc90fffac3ae12.jpg)
Katsuki Bakugou initially found his chill, nonchalant S/O completely infuriating. Their laid-back attitude was a stark contrast to his intensity, and it drove him crazy how they didn’t seem fazed by anything, even when he was going off about something. They’d just stare at him with a calm expression, making his temper flare even more.
Over time, though, Katsuki started to appreciate their calming presence. His S/O’s ability to stay cool under pressure helped ground him, especially during stressful situations. When he was feeling overwhelmed or irritated, they’d simply give him a pat on the shoulder or tell him to “chill out,” and somehow, it actually worked.
Katsuki secretly loves that his S/O doesn’t get caught up in drama or unnecessary fights. They have this quiet confidence that doesn’t need to prove anything, which makes him respect them even more. While he’s all about proving his strength, they have nothing to prove, and that balance brings peace into his life.
Their nonchalant attitude doesn’t mean they’re lazy, though—his S/O just goes about things in their own way, at their own pace. Katsuki finds it both frustrating and oddly impressive when they finish tasks with minimal effort, while he’s out there grinding. He’ll scoff, but deep down, he admires their efficiency.
Katsuki’s S/O has a knack for diffusing his temper. Whenever he starts to get worked up over something small, they’ll give him a raised eyebrow and calmly say something like, “Is it really worth getting that mad over?” Surprisingly, it makes him pause and reevaluate the situation.
Bakugou likes how they never try to control him or tell him what to do. His S/O just lets him be himself, while offering subtle nudges when necessary. They’re a calming force in his life, giving him space when he needs it, and silently supporting him when he’s under pressure.
He often finds himself seeking out their presence when he’s had a rough day, even if he won’t admit it. Just sitting in the same room with them, listening to them casually chat or do their own thing, helps him unwind in a way nothing else can.
Katsuki’s S/O doesn’t react to his outbursts the way others do, which makes him less likely to explode around them. They’ll just wait for him to finish his rant, then casually respond with something like, “You done?” or “Feel better now?” He finds it oddly comforting that they’re unshaken by his emotions.
In public, their contrasting personalities surprise people—his fiery, aggressive nature paired with their laid-back demeanor is unexpected, but it works. Katsuki might seem like the dominant one, but it’s his S/O’s quiet, unbothered strength that often leads to them getting their way.
Despite his pride, Katsuki feels a sense of relief knowing that his S/O can handle anything without panicking or losing their cool. Whether it’s a difficult mission or a personal issue, their nonchalant attitude helps him stay focused, and he trusts them to have his back without question.
When they’re alone, his S/O has a subtle way of getting him to relax. They might not say much, but their quiet presence is enough to ease his tension, whether it’s by lounging together in comfortable silence or them casually telling him, “You don’t always have to be on edge, you know.”

The same applies to anyone reading this! That aside, this is such a wholesome request, and I hope reading about N being an absolute sweetheart eases any troubles you might be facing.

He instantly picks up on your distress, much like an emotional support dog, and is by your side before you can even explain what’s bothering you. Once you open up to him, N is determined to do whatever it takes to show how important you are to him.
✶ The moment you begin doubting yourself in any way, N is quick to reassure you that you’re not a burden to him and that you’re the most important person in his life. He pulls you into a gentle embrace, wrapping you in his sturdy metal arms while offering heartfelt affirmations of love and support.
✶ To help you feel at ease when you’re feeling down, N wraps you in the softest, coziest blanket he can find and sits beside you, resting his head on your shoulder while holding your hand. Once the two of you discover an activity that truly soothes your nerves, he makes sure to always have the necessary materials readily available for any future emergencies.
✶ Forehead kisses are his go-to! He gently presses soft kisses against your head to comfort you, whether it’s after a difficult moment or an emotional outburst. The tenderness of his touch provides a calming presence, offering something reassuring to focus on during moments of panic—a sweet and affectionate distraction.
✶ If you feel drained after a panic attack, N will effortlessly pick you up and carry you wherever you need to go. He’ll often keep you close simply out of concern, refusing to let you out of his sight for a while. His default is to hold you in a gentle bridal carry, never showing any signs of strain, no matter how long he carries you. Your comfort is his priority, and as long as you’re at ease, so is he.
✶ Deep down, N is genuinely concerned for your well-being and simply wants to keep you safe by his side. At times, he may push himself too hard in an effort to improve your mental state and solve everything on his own. However, the moment you reassure him to slow down and just stay by your side, he quickly relaxes, realizing that his presence alone is more than enough for you.

Worth It
Jake Lockley wasn’t one to show weakness. Not to anyone. Not even to himself if he could help it. Yet, here he was, sitting alone in the cramped, dimly lit corner of the apartment he shared with you. His knees were pulled up to his chest, his face buried in his hands. The faint glimmer of the moonlight through the window only barely caught the wet trails of tears staining his cheeks.
He thought he was alone.
You’d gotten up for a glass of water, the creak of the old wooden floor nearly betraying you. Jake’s sharp senses usually didn’t miss anything, but this time he was too caught up in his spiraling thoughts to notice.
No soy suficiente.
The words repeated over and over in his mind. He wasn’t Marc, who could calculate every move. He wasn’t Steven, who had charm and intelligence to spare. He was just… Jake. The shadow. The one who did the things neither of them could stomach. And for what? So they could live their lives while he hid in the dark, forgotten, unwanted.
You watched him from the doorway, heart breaking at the sight of this strong, guarded man unraveling. Quietly, you stepped closer.
“Jake,” you called softly.
He flinched, head snapping up. His eyes, rimmed red from crying, widened in panic before he quickly wiped at his face with the sleeve of his jacket.
“¿Qué haces despierta?” he asked, voice hoarse. “Go back to bed.”
You ignored his attempt to deflect and crouched down in front of him, placing a gentle hand on his knee. He stiffened but didn’t pull away.
“I could ask you the same thing,” you said softly.
He let out a bitter laugh, looking anywhere but at you. “It’s nothing. I’m fine.”
“You’re crying, Jake. That’s not nothing.”
He clenched his jaw, tears threatening to spill again despite his best efforts. “I… I just—I don’t belong here, mi amor,” he muttered, his accent thick with emotion. “Not with you. Not with… anyone. I’m just the cleanup guy. The one no one wants around unless there’s blood on their hands.”
Your chest ached at his words. Without thinking, you leaned forward and wrapped your arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug. He froze at first, his breath hitching, but then his resolve crumbled, and he melted into your embrace.
“Jake,” you whispered into his ear, stroking his back. “You are so much more than you give yourself credit for.”
He shook his head, his voice muffled against your shoulder. “No lo entiendes. I’m not… like them. I don’t have a purpose. I just… exist.”
“You protect the people you love,” you said firmly, pulling back just enough to look him in the eyes. “You protect me. You think that doesn’t matter? That it doesn’t make you enough? Jake, you are enough. More than enough.”
He looked at you then, really looked at you, as if trying to find the lie in your words. When he didn’t, another tear slipped down his cheek, and you wiped it away gently with your thumb.
“I see you, Jake,” you said softly, your voice trembling slightly with emotion. “All of you. And I love what I see.”
His breath hitched again, his eyes widening as he searched yours. “Dices eso como si fuera cierto,” he whispered, the doubt heavy in his tone.
“It is true,” you insisted, leaning closer. “Every part of you—your strength, your heart, the way you carry everyone else’s burdens like they’re your own. Jake, I love you for all of it. For all of you.”
The words seemed to unravel him completely. He let out a shaky breath, one hand reaching up to cradle your cheek as if you were something fragile and precious. His thumb brushed against your skin, his dark eyes shining with something you couldn’t quite name.
“I don’t deserve you,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
“You do,” you said firmly. “You always have.”
For a moment, the world seemed to stand still. Then, slowly, Jake leaned in, his lips brushing against yours in a tentative, almost shy kiss. It was a side of him you rarely saw—vulnerable, unguarded—and it made your heart ache in the best way.
You kissed him back softly, your hands sliding up to cup his face as if grounding him in the moment. The kiss deepened, slow and tender, and when you finally pulled apart, you rested your forehead against his.
“Te amo,” he whispered, his voice barely audible.
“Siempre, Jake,” you replied, your voice steady and sure.
The two of you stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth, the quiet hum of the city outside the only sound. And for the first time in a long time, Jake allowed himself to believe that maybe—just maybe—he was worth it.

Habits & Behaviors We’re Leaving in 2024

As the year draws to a close, it’s time to take a hard look at the habits that have no place in the life of an evolved, high-value woman. We’re stepping into 2025 with elevated standards, refined taste, and a resolute refusal to entertain anything—or anyone—that doesn’t meet our expectations.
1. Over-Explaining Yourself
Your “no” is a full sentence, and your decisions don’t require a PowerPoint presentation. In 2025, we’re embracing the unapologetic confidence to let our choices speak for themselves.
2. Saying “Sorry” Excessively
Unless you’ve actually done something wrong, the word “sorry” needs to exit your vocabulary. Replace it with “thank you” or simply stay silent. Women who constantly apologize shrink themselves—and we don’t do that anymore.
3. Mindless Scrolling
We’re no longer wasting hours on social media feeds that offer nothing of substance. In 2025, if it doesn’t inspire, educate, or entertain on an elevated level, it’s blocked. Time is too valuable to squander.
4. Neglecting Self-Care
Gone are the days of running yourself ragged and calling it “grind culture.” Self-care isn’t indulgent—it’s essential. If you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will. And no, skipping skincare because you’re “too tired” isn’t cute anymore.
5. Overbooking Your Schedule
Being busy isn’t the same as being important. In 2025, we’re prioritizing rest, leisure, and quality time over the toxic cycle of constantly saying “yes” to everything. A well-rested woman is a powerful woman.
6. Gossiping
Talking about other people’s business is officially tacky. Elevated women don’t have time for petty chatter; they’re too busy building themselves and focusing on their own glow-up.
7. Wearing Clothes That Don’t Fit or Flatter
Stop keeping jeans that don’t button and dresses that don’t make you feel like a goddess. In 2025, we’re curating wardrobes that fit now and flatter always. If it doesn’t make you feel powerful, it doesn’t deserve a hanger in your closet.
8. Accepting Bare Minimum Effort
Whether it’s friendships, relationships, or your own goals, the bare minimum is officially out. We’re done settling for mediocrity. High-value women demand effort, and that starts with demanding it from ourselves.
9. Oversharing
Not everyone deserves access to your thoughts, plans, or emotions. Oversharing is the gateway to being misunderstood or undervalued. In 2025, we’re mastering the art of mystery—because the less they know, the more they want to.
10. Comparing Yourself to Others
Comparison is a thief, and it’s stealing your joy. In 2025, we’re focusing inward. Your only competition is the woman you were yesterday. Let others live their lives while you create one so stunning they’ll want to emulate you.
11. Chasing People
The energy of 2025 is simple: what’s meant for you will come to you effortlessly. Chasing people—romantic, platonic, or professional—is beneath a high-value woman. Let them go. If they don’t see your worth, it’s their loss.
12. Procrastinating on Your Glow-Up
No more waiting until “Monday” or “next year” to start bettering yourself. The gym, the books, the skincare routine, the side hustle—start now. 2025 is the year of execution, not excuses.
13. Engaging in Drama
Drama is for people with nothing better to do. Elevated women rise above it. Keep your energy focused on your goals and let others exhaust themselves with their nonsense.
14. Spending Energy on the Unreciprocated
Whether it’s love, friendship, or support, one-sided effort is out. We’re investing in relationships and opportunities that invest back in us. No more watering dead plants.
15. Overthinking Every Decision
Analysis paralysis is not chic. Trust your intuition, make the choice, and move forward. High-value women don’t waste time second-guessing themselves—they trust that they’ll adapt to whatever comes next.
16. Staying in Your Comfort Zone
Playing small and safe is so last year. In 2025, we’re taking risks, making bold moves, and embracing the discomfort of growth. Luxe lives are built outside the comfort zone.
17. Not Celebrating Your Wins
Downplaying your accomplishments? Stop it. In 2025, we’re celebrating every milestone—big or small. You worked hard for it, so let the world know you’re winning.
18. Neglecting Boundaries
If 2024 was the year of tolerating overstepping, 2025 is the year of hard stops. Boundaries aren’t just healthy; they’re essential to maintaining your peace, your energy, and your worth.

𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒 | Yuji x Gn!Reader
•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•••·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•••·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·••
You hear a knock on your door, and a rush of excitement surges through you. You spring up, eager to open it, already knowing who’s on the other side—your boyfriend, Yuji. The familiar sound of his knock brings a smile to your face and a flutter to your heart.
You fling open the door, and there he is, standing with his characteristic grin and holding a bouquet of paper flowers. “Surprise!” Yuji says, his eyes sparkling with warmth. “I thought I’d bring you something to brighten your day.”
His unexpected visit, combined with the lovely flowers, instantly lifts your spirits. You can’t help but beam with joy as you step aside to let him in. “You always know how to make me smile,” you say, reaching out to accept the flowers.
Yuji steps inside, wrapping you in a warm hug that feels like a comforting embrace. “I’m glad to hear that,” he says, pulling back slightly to look into your eyes. “I missed you and thought you could use a little pick-me-up.”
As you take the paper flowers from Yuji, you notice the bandages on his fingers. Concern flashes across your face as you look back up at him. “What happened here?” you ask, gently holding his hand to get a closer look.
Yuji chuckles, scratching the back of his neck with an embarrassed smile. “Apparently, I’m not the best at using hot glue or handling paper,” he admits. “I ended up with a bunch of paper cuts and a few little burns. But it was worth it to see you smile.”
You can’t help but laugh softly at his mishaps, touched by the effort he put into the gesture despite the minor injuries. “You really went through a lot for these flowers,” you say, squeezing his hand gently. “Thank you. They’re beautiful, and they definitely brightened my day.”
Yuji’s eyes light up with happiness at your response. “I’m glad to hear that. I wanted to do something special for you, even if it meant a few battle scars along the way.” He grins, his affection and thoughtfulness evident in every word.
You smile at Yuji, your heart swelling with affection. Gently setting the flowers down on the table, you suddenly leap into his arms, wrapping him in a tight embrace. The warmth of his body against yours and the comforting scent of him instantly soothe your frayed nerves.
“You’re the best,” you murmur, resting your face in the crook of his neck. The familiarity and safety of his presence make everything else fade into the background.
Yuji chuckles softly, holding you securely as he adjusts his arms to keep you close. “You’re wrong, though,” he says with a gentle grin, his voice filled with warmth. “You’re the best, love.”
He buries his face in your hair, the comfort of his embrace and the sincerity of his words melt your heart. Everything feels right because he’s here with you.
As you pull back slightly to look into his eyes, you see the genuine affection and care shining in them. The simple yet profound act of him coming over, despite the mishaps with the glue and paper cuts, speaks volumes about how much he values and cherishes you.
Yuji’s hand gently brushes a stray lock of hair from your face, his touch tender and loving. “I’m just glad I could make you smile,” he says softly, his eyes never leaving yours. “No matter what it takes, I’ll always be here to brighten your day.”
You smile, feeling a profound sense of gratitude and love. “And I’m so lucky to have you,” you reply, your voice filled with emotion. “Thank you for everything, Yuji. You really do make everything better.”
He leans in to press a soft kiss to your forehead, his smile never fading. “That’s what I’m here for,” he says, his tone full of sincerity. “To be your rock and make sure you always have a reason to smile.”
In that embrace, you feel a renewed sense of hope and warmth. The worries and frustrations of the day seem to melt away, replaced by the comforting reality of his presence and the love you share.

The idea that Eddie and Buck both feel unwanted, but in entirely different ways, is crucial to understanding their characters and what they need. It’s frustrating when people conflate their emotional struggles, because they’re rooted in very different experiences and responses to love and vulnerability.
Eddie feels unwanted not because he’s unloved, but because he actively prevents himself from feeling wanted. He’s built emotional walls so high and thick that he doesn’t let anyone get close enough to truly affect him. It’s like he’s convinced himself that being vulnerable is dangerous, so he keeps love at arm’s length. He doesn’t let himself accept the love that’s offered to him because he’s afraid of what it would mean to truly feel it. Eddie’s self-sabotage comes from a place of deep insecurity—he doesn’t believe he deserves to be loved, or that he’s worthy of it. So, he rejects what he most needs: connection and acceptance.
His sense of feeling unwanted is not entirely self-imposed. He’s not unwanted by others—far from it. He just can’t let himself acknowledge the love people give him. Instead of embracing that love, he distances himself from it, convincing himself that he’s better off not needing anyone. In Eddie’s case, it’s not that love isn’t available to him; it’s that he’s so used to denying himself the vulnerability of being loved that he can’t truly experience it.
Buck, on the other hand, experiences a different kind of emotional pain. He’s overflowing with love and a desire to care for others, but he feels unwanted when that love isn’t reciprocated in the way he needs. Buck’s yearning for connection comes from a place of absence—he didn’t receive the love and validation he needed growing up, so now he pours all of that unfulfilled love into those around him. He’s desperate to give love and to be loved in return. When his efforts to love and care for others aren’t fully acknowledged or accepted, it cuts him deeply, leaving him feeling rejected and unwanted.
For Buck, it’s not a matter of blocking out love like Eddie does—it’s the opposite. He craves it, he chases it, and when it’s not returned in the way he hopes, it confirms his fear that he’s not enough. Buck’s sense of being unwanted is external; it’s tied to how others respond to the love he offers. He’s constantly trying to fill a void that’s been there since childhood, hoping that one day he’ll find someone who will give him the unconditional love he’s always longed for.
The contrast between them is stark: Eddie feels unwanted because he won’t let himself be vulnerable enough to accept love, while Buck feels unwanted because he gives love so freely and feels crushed when it’s not reciprocated. Their emotional journeys are intertwined but deeply different, and that distinction matters in understanding their respective struggles with love and worthiness.
That’s why I believe Eddie and Buck complement each other so perfectly—because their emotional needs align in ways they themselves haven’t fully recognized. Eddie is someone who desperately needs to let go of the weight he’s been carrying. He’s always been in control, responsible, the one who takes care of others, but deep down, he craves the freedom to be vulnerable. He needs to allow himself to feel, to let his guard down, and to finally accept the love he’s always denied himself. Eddie’s heart is heavy with the belief that he’s not worthy of being truly loved, and yet, love is exactly what he needs most.
On the other side, Buck is overflowing with love that he’s been waiting to give. He’s always searching for someone who will accept that love without hesitation or rejection. For Buck, loving someone is how he affirms his own worth. He needs to feel that his love is enough—that he’s enough, and that he’s not just appreciated, but cherished. Buck’s greatest fear is that his love will go unreciprocated, that all the care and devotion he offers won’t be enough to hold someone close. He craves the reassurance that his love matters, that he matters, that his presence and efforts are worth something.
What makes their dynamic so powerful is that they unknowingly hold the key to each other’s healing. Eddie needs someone like Buck—someone who can pour love into him without hesitation, someone who can offer him the safety to let go and be vulnerable. He needs to experience what it feels like to be unconditionally loved, to have someone care for him as fiercely as Buck does.
On the other hand, Buck needs someone like Eddie—someone who’s strong enough to handle all the love he has to give, someone who, once he lets down his walls, will value and return that love with equal intensity. Eddie, beneath all his layers of restraint and control, has a depth of feeling that mirrors Buck’s, but he just hasn’t allowed himself to access it yet. Buck needs to know his love, his efforts, his presence is appreciated and cherished, and Eddie needs to know he’s worthy of receiving it.
The beauty of their connection lies in the fact that they both have what the other needs, but they’re too afraid to fully reach for it. Eddie fears what it means to let himself be vulnerable, and Buck fears what it means to trust that his love won’t be rejected. But if they were brave enough to take that leap, to truly open up to each other, they’d find that they fit together in a way that neither of them expected. Their journey isn’t just about finding love; it’s about finding the courage to trust that love—both in giving it and receiving it.

he fumbled with the keys in his hands, hastily unlocking the door to the apartment that he shared with you. he closed the door quietly, sucking in a breath as he sees you sat on the couch— reading a book.
he’s greeted with a smile, and it nearly broke him. he loves you— he truly does, but not over his dream. to beat his childhood rival. he simply couldn’t let his efforts go of waste.
“how was practice?” you questioned, a soft smile tugging the corner of your lips, as he watched you close your book and set it down beside you on the couch.
“it was.. it was okay.” he mumbled with hands in his pockets as he avoided your gaze. he felt bad. you were everything he ever wanted— he felt stupid for even doing this. for choosing his dream over you.
“hey— uh, I think..”
“I think we should break up,” he murmured, his voice a mere octave above a whisper. shifting his weight from one leg to another uncomfortably, he cleared his throat awkwardly.
you were the light and joy in his life, and he knows it. you’re the only thing he looks forward to seeing after a shitty race, or after a bad qualifying. he’d search for you in the crowd, wanting to engulf himself purely in the warmth you provide.
his words hung in the air, the tension of emotions thick.
“why? what went wrong?” you managed to muster out, your voice coming out shakier than you thought it would be.
he stayed silent for a minute, before clearing his throat— his eyes boring into yours. “I found someone else,” he lies, his gaze softening— but you could tell that it had a distant look, like his mind was wandering elsewhere.
his words were like daggers being thrown on your heart, piercing right through it.
as tears welled up in your eyes, a wave of emotions washed over you. confusion, insecurity, and betrayal. you couldn’t help but start to question your worth to him. did you really mean something to him all this time, or was that all just a lie? you knew Charles was popular among the ladies. he was a good looking man, surrounded with women with scarcely credible beauty.
but you were hoping that the bond you two had was special, that it could resist any temptations you, or Charles had towards any other men or women. Charles was a beacon of light in your life, and you were his. you truly did believe that the connection between you two was strong enough to overcome any obstacles.
with a heavy heart, you knew you had to face the harsh reality of his confession. you knew you had to muster up the strength within you to let him go.
you couldn’t force someone to love you, after all.
“I swear, I loved you at some point but—”
“..I understand.” you cut him off and wiped your tears, swallowing back the tears threatening to spill out.
“I’ll pack my things.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9b43e8a6bb98949065cbc2f95a59c82a/570523f8b5704047-8c/s540x810/77ce7d2a1e158610d4d5248ff82e4426451c773e.jpg)
for the past few days after the breakup, Charles struggled to get rid of the memories that you left in his apartment. he struggled to get rid of the paintings the two of you made for fun, hell— he struggled to change his lock screen which was you.
he kept making excuses, excuses to not remove that little widget in his phone that was a photo of you— the photo he took secretly.
he could only stare at his lock screen, the guilt washing over him whenever he turned on his phone to see you. he could feel the nostalgia, his stomach churning uncomfortably.
he’s standing on the podium, lifting and glancing at the trophy he earned while reminiscing the memories and moments the two of you shared together, he could imagine how proud you would’ve looked at this very moment. he felt stupid for wishing that you were here even though he was the one who broke things off.
winning doesn’t feel the same without you. he misses the way you’d squeeze him so tight when he won, the heat radiating off of you— he doesn’t feel as happy as he usually would. it felt like that winning simply wasn’t worth it without you there to congratulate him.
he has the urge to message you. to ask you how you’ve been, if you were doing much better without him, but he knew he couldn’t. not after what he did to you.
he walks off the podium, his clothes reeking of champagne as he heads to the garage— before noticing his teammate, a wide smile on his face as he comes to congratulate him.
“you did well out there,” Carlos grins, wrapping a arm around Charles shoulder, squeezing him slightly.
Charles simply smiles, muttering a quiet ‘thanks’— though Carlos knows something was up. it was obvious for everyone that Charles seemed odd, seemed distant.
“you’re not gonna tell y/n about this?” he questions, raising an eyebrow as he pulls his arm away, noticing how stiff Charles was despite managing to win first after a while.
Charles stays quiet for a minute, before responding, “I’d call them, but—” Charles pauses, sucking in a breath and glancing at his teammate, before adverting his gaze elsewhere.
“they’re just nostalgia.”

tired of loving from afar
pairing: mason mount x reader warnings: none, mostly fluff with a tiny bit of angst! word count: 5.3k
a/n: not me writing for someone other than ben lmao?? been really in my mase feels lately so here's a fluffy little long distance relationship fic (also was very happy to read this morning that he's likely going to be back after the international break! my heart has been hurting for him this season 🥺) have a great weekend loves 💓
-
Of the three years you’ve been with Mason, the past six months have been the hardest by far.
You’d overcome other hurdles in your relationship, like adjusting to the exposure and demanding schedule of a professional footballer, learning to cope with your life being somewhat public and thousands of girls being in love with your boyfriend. None of this was nearly as challenging as having to adjust to him living 200 miles away from you.
His move to Manchester was bittersweet - you were so proud of him for getting a spot at such a massive club and finally receiving the appreciation and recognition he deserves. You knew he was happy to have a fresh start and a chance to prove himself as a player.
At the same time, it was incredibly emotional for him to leave his boyhood club, his friends, his family, and you all at the same time. You would’ve given anything to go with him, even if it meant leaving your own friends and family in London, but you were about to start your final year of uni there. You couldn’t just pack up and go, no matter how much you wanted to do so.
You’re passionate about your studies, and you knew it would all be worth it when you graduate and get a job in your chosen field - and in the same city as the man you love. You knew it was only a year.
That didn’t make it any easier to say goodbye.
You’ve both made a massive effort to see each other as much as humanly possible, going up to Manchester every time you have a break from classes or a weekend without an exam or assignment due. Mason has also come back to London any time he gets the chance, sometimes flying out just to see you for the day. You’ve been making it work, but it’s not nearly the same as living in the same house as him. Even when you were both super busy, you at least got to see each other when you woke up and before bed, and now all you have are texts and FaceTime calls.
On a night like tonight, when you’re exhausted from the week and you just want to be wrapped in his arms watching a film, FaceTime really feels like a poor replacement for the real thing.
“Hi, gorgeous,” Mason says, a sleepy smile on his face as he answers your call. “How was your day?”
“Hey, Mase,” you say, curling up with a blanket and admiring his face in the soft glow of his bedroom lamp. Judging by the fact that he’s in bed by quarter to nine, you figure he’s as worn out as you are. “It was okay, felt long. I finally turned in my essay, though.”
“Good work, babe, I’m sure you aced it like always.”
You blush a little, never growing tired of how he takes every opportunity to praise your intelligence. Any time someone asks about your studies, he does a full spiel about how smart you are.
“We’ll see,” you say. “How was your day, love? Any updates at physio?”
The way his smile instantly fades makes your heart drop to your stomach, fearing the worst.
“Yeah, um-it’s looking like a bit longer,” Mason says, and you can tell he’s trying to keep his voice steady so you don’t worry too much. “Maybe another few weeks. They’re not sure.”
“Oh, sweetheart,” you sigh. “I’m sorry. I know how frustrating this is.”
The hardest part about being away from Mason has unquestionably been watching him struggle from afar without being able to properly support him. From the rocky start to the season, to being out due to injuries basically ever since, it’s been torture not being there for him.
You went up straight away when he first injured his calf in November, needing to both emotionally and physically care for him, but you couldn’t stay long before your exams started. Since then, you’ve done your best to help from London - sending him care packages, calling him as much as your schedule allows, asking Luke and Anouska to keep an eye on him and let you know how he’s holding up.
In moments like these, though, what you really need is to hug him and tell him everything is going to be alright.
“Yeah, it’s a bit tough,” Mason admits, fiddling with his hoodie string. “But at least I’m back in partial training, it could be worse. I could’ve done my ACL or something, you know? I’ve been pretty lucky in my career so far.”
One of the many things you love about him is his infectious optimism, how he always sees the best in situations and in people.
Right now, though, you’re not sure you fully believe the words leaving his mouth. He looks so disheartened and downtrodden.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” you ask, frowning. “I know it’s not the news you’re expecting, you’re allowed to be disappointed.”
“I’ll be fine, angel, don’t worry about me,” Mason reassures you. “Just missing you a little extra today.”
“Me too,” you murmur, touching the screen and wishing it were his face. “I’m sorry I can’t make it up this weekend, but this group assignment-“
“Don’t apologize, baby, I know how busy you are this term,” Mason cuts you off, just as he always does when you try to apologize for being so far away.
You do the same to him when he tries to say he’s sorry for uprooting your life together, for not being there when you’re stressed about school or just having a bad day. Truthfully, neither of you are at fault, it’s just life. But it still sucks sometimes.
“We’ll see each other in a few weeks when I have my reading break,” you remind him. “Just a while longer.”
“I know, I’m counting down the minutes,” Mason smiles.
You talk for a little while longer before you reluctantly have to go so you can get ready for bed, and you promise to call him again tomorrow night.
The sad look on his face when you say goodnight lingers in your mind as you shower and do your skincare routine, and by the time you climb into bed, you’ve made a decision.
First, you message your group for the assignment you’re working on and ask if you can push your planned meeting to Monday rather than Saturday. Next, you text Luke and ask him to make sure Mason doesn’t have plans tomorrow night.
Lastly, you book a train to Manchester, because you’ll be damned if you don’t go cheer up your man when he needs you.
-
The moment you arrive at the train station in Manchester the next day, you hop in an Uber and make your way straight to Mason’s.
You know that he’s still at training and will be for at least another hour or so, as you’ve been texting Luke for updates so Mason doesn’t get suspicious. It’s not unusual for you to ask how his day is going, but you don’t typically ask for the exact time he plans on leaving Carrington or instruct him to go straight home after training.
Using the key that Mason gave you when he moved in, insisting that it was still your home even if you don’t live there the majority of the time, you let yourself into his house.
You drop your bags and immediately get to work on creating the perfect cozy, romantic Friday night in.
By the time you get the text from Luke that he’s on his way back with Mason, having devised a fake plan of coming over to play FIFA after training to ensure Mason didn’t make other plans, you’re just finishing up.
You’ve successfully transformed his house, which he bought furnished and has put very little effort into making homey, into a much more welcoming environment.
You ordered flowers for the kitchen table, as well as enough groceries to make dinner for him tonight and to replenish his far too empty fridge. You did a bit of tidying, deciding to do a few loads of laundry for him when you noticed there was quite a pile forming, and it must have been a week or so since the cleaning service he pays for came.
You put some soft music on his speakers and lit a few candles in the kitchen as well, popping a bottle of white wine into the fridge so it’s ready for your dinner.
You’ve just started chopping a few veggies to get a head start on dinner when you hear the sound of the front door opening followed by distant voices, one of which you immediately recognize as Mason.
“Do you hear that music?”
The sound of your boyfriend’s voice after weeks apart fills your stomach with butterflies - you’re just as giddy to see him as you were in your early days of dating.
“Probably the neighbours, mate,” Luke responds, still playing along with your ruse.
“I don’t think-“
Finally, the guys turn the corner into the kitchen, and you see Mason come into view with Luke trailing behind him. His eyes widen in surprise for a moment, slightly startled by there being someone in his house, and then he realizes it’s you and his mouth falls open in shock.
“Surprise,” you say shyly, while Mason is still at a loss for words.
He immediately drops his training bag to the floor and makes a beeline for you, pulling you into a tight hug and lifting you off your feet before you can even hug him back properly.
You relax into his arms right away, squeezing him just as tightly as he’s squeezing you and breathing in the familiar scent of his soap and aftershave, freshly showered after training. It’s the same scent that lingers on the t-shirts and hoodies that you steal from him every time you come up, wearing them until you regrettably have to put them through the wash.
“Baby,” Mason mumbles into your neck, pressing little kisses there. “I can’t believe you’re here.”
“I’m here,” you confirm, wrapping your legs around his waist as he refuses to set you down or let you go. “I missed you way too much to wait another three weeks.”
He pulls back far enough to capture your lips in a sweet kiss, his hands sliding down to your thighs to support your weight as you kiss him back. You can feel the pieces of your world shifting back into place, your heart settling in your chest as you sink into his warmth.
Mason presses a few more quick pecks to your lips before reluctantly setting you down, arms still wrapped around you. It’s only then that you realize Luke is still here, shuffling awkwardly in the corner.
“Thanks for your help, Luke,” you say with a shy smile, moving to Mason’s side.
“Of course, the man never shuts up about how much he misses you, so it’s really a favour for me as well,” Luke jokes. “I’ll leave you guys. Enjoy your evening.”
“Thanks, mate,” Mason says with an eye roll and a grin before turning his attention back to you, pressing kisses to your head.
“Night, Luke! Give my love to Anouska and the kids,” you call out, though you’ve also turned back to face Mason and bury your face in his chest.
You remain in each other’s arms, just holding one another and breathing in and out for a minute or two.
You knew you missed him, but you don’t think you realized quite how much until right now. It’s taken such a toll on both of you being apart for so long.
“How long are you staying?” Mason asks quietly, almost like he’s afraid of the answer, as he lightly rubs your lower back.
“Until Monday morning,” you say. You wish it were longer, but three nights together is the best you’ve gotten in a long time.
“Really?” Mason asks, pulling back and looking at you with bright eyes. “I thought you had to do your group assignment tomorrow?”
“I pushed it to Monday, I had to come see you after we spoke last night.”
You reach up to cup Mason’s face with one hand, gently stroking his cheek with your thumb. Judging by the way he’s avoiding eye contact with you, you know you were right to come. He’s obviously been struggling with the disappointment of the never-ending injuries, all the uncertainty it’s brought.
“I’m okay,” he says softly, turning his face to press a kiss to your palm. “Now that you’re here, everything’s okay.”
You melt at his gentle words, but they don’t do much to ease your worries about his emotional wellbeing.
Mason gives you a quick peck on the forehead before looking around the room, noticing the food you’re preparing and the cozy, romantic vibe you created for your evening.
“What’s all this?” he asks, a small smile on his face.
You’re not keen to drop the subject, but you don’t want to ruin your rare weekend together by bombarding him with questions either. You know he’ll talk about it when he’s ready.
“I just ordered some food for dinner and restocked your fridge a bit,” you explain. “I figured you would be happy to stay in tonight, so I got stuff to make your favourite pasta.”
Before he can respond, the dryer beeps, signalling that the load is done. He raises an eyebrow at you.
“Are you doing laundry?”
“I just threw a couple loads of your clothes in, I noticed you were running behind,” you shrug.
Mason looks at you with complete awe, shaking his head in disbelief.
“You didn’t have to do all this,” he says softly. “You being here is enough. It’s more than enough.”
You smile, wrapping your arms around his neck once more.
“I know, but I wanted tonight to be perfect and relaxing,” you explain, pecking his lips. “No stressing about football or school or anything else. Just you and me.”
“You’re amazing, Y/N,” Mason sighs, squeezing your waist. “Can I help you cook?”
“No, but you can pour us both a glass of wine from the bottle in the fridge and sit down and tell me about your day,” you smile, kissing him one more time before pulling away to return to your meal preparations.
Mason does as told, sneaking another few kisses when he brings you over your glass, then sitting at one of the stools at the kitchen island.
You treasure this domesticity more than almost anything with him - the simple act of chatting about your days while making dinner is something you’ve missed terribly.
When the pasta is ready, you dish it out into two bowls and bring them over to the table.
“God, I missed your cooking,” Mason grins as he dives into his portion, obviously starving after a day of training. “It’s delicious, babe.”
“Thanks, Mase,” you reply, pouring yourself a little bit more wine. “You want some more?”
“Might as well, it’s not like I’m playing tomorrow,” Mason says, the offhand comment hurting your heart much more than he intended.
He’s still smiling at you as you pour his drink, but you don’t believe for a second that it’s real.
“Do you want to go tomorrow?” you ask after a minute of silence while you both eat. “I know you usually go to the home games, right?”
Mason shrugs. “Yeah, we can if you want.”
Once again, you don’t press him further, listening as he changes the subject and starts updating you on Ben’s latest girl troubles.
After you’ve finished and cleaned up, you head into the living room to catch up on the new episodes of Drive to Survive. You always save your favourite shows for when you’re together, sometimes dodging spoilers for weeks just so you can enjoy it properly with Mason.
The moment you sit down on the couch, Mason pulls you into his arms for the first real cuddle you’ve had in weeks. You very contently lean into him, resting your head on his chest and humming in delight as Mason slides his hand under your hoodie and begins to gently stroke your lower back. It’s not with the intention of anything sexual, though you’re sure that will come later, it’s just an innate need to be as close to you as possible.
It’s the most relaxed you’ve felt since he left your flat in London three weeks ago, your body and mind decompressing with every moment spent in his arms.
A few hours pass, and you can feel yourself growing tired, but you’re enjoying Mason’s commentary on the Alpine rivalry far too much to interrupt and suggest you go to bed. Your yawns are betraying you, though, and Mason begins to gently run his hand through your hair.
“You ready for bed, sweetheart?” he asks softly, kissing your forehead.
“It’s so early,” you murmur as you glance at the time on your phone, barely past 9PM, yet you can’t contain another small yawn which makes Mason chuckle. “Sorry, I guess I’m tired out from the week.”
“No worries, we have the whole weekend,” Mason smiles. “Honestly, I’m a bit worn out too. Wanna go upstairs and I’ll get us some water?”
You nod as he stands and helps you to your feet, pressing one more gentle kiss to your forehead before heading into the kitchen. You make your way up the stairs to his bedroom and head into his ensuite bathroom.
It occurs to you as you’re flicking the light on that you forgot to grab your toiletry bag from your suitcase in his room, and you’re just about to turn back for it when something catches your eye. On one of the shelves above the toilet, there’s an array of products that wasn’t here last time you visited. More specifically, there’s a version of just about every hair and skincare product you use on a regular basis, and you really doubt that Mason has taken up doing hair treatments or using Drunk Elephant serums.
Maybe it shouldn’t mean as much to you as it does - he’s always been thoughtful, and you know the expense of buying all this is nothing to him - but for some reason, the simple gesture nearly brings you to tears.
Mason appears in the doorway a moment later, smiling softly at you.
“You okay, love?”
“When did you buy all this stuff?” you ask, gesturing to the shelf.
“Oh, uh, a couple days after the last time I came to London,” Mason says casually. “I took pictures of everything in your bathroom to make sure I got the right stuff, I just wanted to make it easier for you when you visit.”
As you look into his soft, sincere gaze, your love for him feels more overwhelming than ever.
Which means your guilt does, too.
“Mase, I’m so sorry I haven’t been up to visit more lately,” you say, your voice unsteady. “I know you’ve been struggling, and I know you’ve been keeping a lot of it from me because I’m busy with uni, but you’re my priority and I should’ve-“
“Hey,” Mason says gently, interrupting you with a hand reaching up to cup your cheek. “Don’t ever apologize for focusing on your studies. I know how hard you’ve been working, and I’m so proud of you. You don’t need to worry about me, I’m gonna be fine.”
“It’s not fine,” you shake your head, tears now streaming down your face. “You’ve always been there for me, and now you’re in a new city and a new club and you’ve been dealing with injuries and I’m all the way across the country.”
“Y/N, we knew this would be hard, and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t,” Mason says, wiping your tears away with his thumbs. “But it’s not your fault I moved clubs while you still had a degree to finish, or that I’ve had a tough season. Some things are out of our control.”
You know he’s right, but it doesn’t make it any easier. Hearing his sad, defeated voice on the phone after a disappointing medical assessment or bad game and not being able to hold him has been one of the hardest things you’ve ever done.
“I just worry about you being here all alone,” you say quietly. “I know you have your teammates and you spend a lot of time with Luke, but in London you had me and all your friends and your family was closer and - I just hate that I’m not with you.”
“You’re here right now,” Mason says, pressing his forehead to yours for a moment. “You dropped everything to come see me today, babe. You have no idea how much that meant.”
“I would do it every weekend if I could.”
“I know,” he says with a sad smile. “And I would leave all of this and spend my time helping you study and supporting you if I could, but this is our reality for a little while longer, angel.”
You sigh, nodding in agreement and staring into his big brown eyes that bring you so much comfort.
“I’ve just missed you so much,” you murmur, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him in for a tight hug.
His own arms circle your waist and tug you impossibly closer, his nose buried in your hair so he can breathe you in.
“I know, baby, I’ve missed you too,” he exhales. “So, so much.”
You hold him for a while longer, cherishing every brush of his hand against your back and every kiss he presses to your temple. You want to memorize the feeling of his touch, so when you’re back in your bed in London a few days from now you can close your eyes and try to imagine you’re still in his arms.
After a few minutes, you break apart to finish preparing for bed. You brush your teeth together then go through your skincare routine while Mason watches fondly, letting you put some moisturizer on him when you’re done with it. Then he strips down to just his boxers, teasing you lovingly when you obviously check him out, and passes you a comfy t-shirt from his drawer to change into. You make a mental note to fill up your suitcase with a few of his hoodies before you leave - the ones you have at home no longer smell like him.
You climb into the bed together, noticing that the side you usually sleep on has all of its pillows in place and that the nightstand is almost empty except for the glass of water he set down for you. Like he’s still been leaving that space for you even when you’re not there to fill it.
“C’mere,” Mason says immediately, tugging you into his chest.
You relax against him, laying your head over his heartbeat and tracing his tattoos with your finger.
“Will you tell me how you’ve really been feeling lately?” you ask in a gentle voice. He immediately tenses, and you know he still doesn’t want to discuss it, but you’re not leaving Manchester without talking to him about this. “I saw the look on your face when I asked about the game tomorrow, babe. Please just talk to me.”
“I don’t want to burden you with all this,” Mason says, refusing to meet your gaze. “I know how busy you are-“
“I told you, you’re my priority, Mase,” you insist. “And it’s actually more concerning when I don’t know what’s going on with you. If you talk to me, then maybe I can help.”
Mason sighs and moves into a more upright position, still holding your hand and playing with your fingers as a way of grounding himself as he gathers his thoughts.
“I just never thought it would be like this, you know?” he mutters. “I thought that coming here would solve everything I was going through at Chelsea, but in a lot of ways it’s been even harder.”
You nod for him to continue, gently squeezing his hand.
“I thought when all the contract stuff was resolved and I was at a new club everything would be fine, but then it’s just been constant injuries and trying to adjust to a whole new life without actually being able to do the thing I love most,” he goes on, making your heart splinter even more. “Fifty-five million pounds and I don’t have a single goal to show for it.”
“You can’t help that you’ve been injured, baby,” you say softly, though you know he already knows that. “If you were in top form, you’d be scoring goals all over the place. I know it.”
He smiles slightly, always grateful for your neverending confidence in him. You’ve been his biggest fan from the moment you met, cheering him on through every high and low of his career.
“Maybe, but I haven’t had the chance to try,” he mutters. “I’m just stuck here, being useless to the club and hours away from you. I basically upended our lives just to end up not playing for months.”
“Mase, if I’m not allowed to feel guilty for us being apart, neither are you,” you say firmly. “Coming to United was the right decision. It may not feel like it now, but I promise it will in the long run. And if not, we’ll find a new place for you to show everyone how amazing of a footballer you are. Even if it’s in a different city or another country, we’ll figure it out.”
“Babe, I feel bad enough that you’re moving away from London to be here next year, I’m not gonna ask you to move again,” Mason says, still fiddling with your fingers. “I have to make it work here.”
“And I’m sure you will as soon as you’re better,” you tell him, bringing your joined hands to your lips. “But if it ends up not being a good fit, I will happily follow you anywhere you want to go.”
“Even the States?” Mason jokes, making you roll your eyes and poke him the ribs. “It would be cool to play with Messi.”
“You are not going to the MLS any time soon,” you reprimand him. “But yes, I would go to Florida for you, babe. That is how much I love you.”
Mason laughs, moving your joined hands so it’s his turn to lay kisses on your knuckles.
“Wouldn’t be so bad. The weather’s good, and we could hang out with the Beckhams,” he says, smiling against your skin. “We could take our kids to the beach-“
“Oh, our kids, huh?” you remark, raising an eyebrow.
“Well, by the time I’m actually ready to play in the MLS…”
“Alright, we’ll move to Florida with our hypothetical children in ten years,” you say decisively. “Then you can retire and stay home with them while I work.”
“I could take them to Disney World every day,” Mason sighs happily. “Oh, and the Harry Potter thing! Our kids would love that.”
As much as you’re both joking, the thought of a time in the future when you’re settled with a family and not having to deal with all the separation and uncertainty makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy. You can’t wait to have a family with him someday.
“In all seriousness, babe, you’ve already accomplished so much in your career and I know you’re going to do so many more amazing things,” you tell him, reaching out to cup his cheek. “And even more importantly, you are such an incredible person off the pitch.“
Mason blushes, leaning into your palm and holding it to his face so you don’t withdraw your touch. You know he struggles to take compliments sometimes, but you also know that this is something he needs to hear.
“Which is why I refuse to listen to you call yourself useless when you do so much for your family, the community, for me - you make everything better, Mase,” you say softly. “That’s why are so loved. It’s why I fell in love with you, not because of your job.”
He takes a moment to soak up what you’re saying, still holding your hand to his face and pressing a few kisses to your palm.
“You mean you’re not in it for the money?” he says after a minute, eliciting an eye roll from you.
“It’s mostly for the money, but the abs don’t hurt either,” you tease, poking his stomach and making him laugh out loud for the first time in as long as you can remember.
Mason pulls you into his arms again, leaning back and tucking you into his chest so your nose is pressed to his neck. You give him another tight squeeze, unable to get enough of his cuddles.
“Thank you so much, baby,” he mumbles into your hair as he slowly rubs his hand over your back. “For coming and for making me talk about this stuff. You always know exactly what I need.”
“Of course, my love,” you murmur. “Just promise me you’ll keep talking to me, okay? I don’t care how busy I am, I want to know what’s going on with you.”
“I promise,” Mason swears, squeezing your hand that rests over his heart. “And the same goes for you. I know how stressful this term has been, but I’m always here even if I can’t physically be there to help.”
“I know you are,” you smile. “And I know you’re the reason Ben or Woody brought me dinner or care packages before every midterm. They wouldn’t admit it, but I suspected they were under orders to check in on me.”
Mason chuckles. “Yeah, well, gotta send in the subs when I can’t do it myself.”
You hug him even tighter, throwing a leg over his and letting him shift you back into a more comfortable position for sleep. You’re yawning again, the exhaustion finally catching up to you now that the worry gnawing at your mind over Mason has been relieved.
“So, for tomorrow,” you say, your voice lower now that you’re both getting sleepy. “I think we should go to the game with Luke and Anouska, she already texted me and asked us to come over for dinner afterward. That way you and Luke can show your faces at Old Trafford and we can spend some time with them and the kids. Then, you and I can come back home and have a bit of a romantic night in.”
Mason doesn’t respond right away, and you give him a moment before you look up at him to see if something’s wrong. But when you do, you see only an adoring gaze and gentle smile on his face.
“Is that plan good with you?” you ask, “we don’t have to do any of it, I just thought-“
“No, no, it sounds perfect,” Mason cuts you off. “You’re perfect. I was just thinking about how much I love you.”
Your heart melts even more for him, if that’s possible, and you can’t resist leaning in to press another lingering kiss to his lips.
“I love you too,” you say, pressing a few more kisses to his cheeks and nose for good measure. “Now, let’s get a good night’s sleep so I can show you how much I love you in the morning, yeah?”
Mason nods with childlike enthusiasm, making you giggle again as you lay your head back on his chest.
You can’t wait for the time to come that all of your nights end like this, curled up next to the love of your life, but for now, you’re grateful for this one.
No matter how many miles are between you, your heart is always gonna be wherever Mason is. He’s your home, whether you’re on opposite ends of the globe or in the same bed.
You sleep better than you have in months.
please leave me a comment if you enjoyed this or send me an ask just to chat, love hearing from all of you xx

is this connection worth holding onto?
PAC reading ⊹♡
⋆ ˚。⋆ ꪆৎ ˚ MY TIP JAR ⋆ ˚。⋆ ꪆৎ ˚
are you stuck in a cycle with someone, unsure whether to keep going or let go? this reading examines the energy of the relationship, whether it’s moving toward growth or stagnation, and what you need to know to decide whether to stay tuned or change the station.
remember this is a collective message, so it might not resonate for everyone. tip at least £5 for your own personal reading! as always, energy is always changing. you are the master of your fate! patreon coming soon.
Pile One. ₊˚⊹♡.
your connection feels like it’s stuck in a loop, where moments of progress are often followed by confusion or setbacks. the energy suggests a strong push-and-pull dynamic, with potential for forward movement but also significant blocks that prevent things from flowing naturally. there may be unresolved fears or doubts that keep you both from fully stepping into this connection, creating a sense of stagnation or frustration.
there’s a lot of overthinking present in this relationship—whether it’s on your end, theirs, or both. you may feel trapped by your own thoughts, constantly questioning if you’re doing enough or if they’re meeting you halfway. this mental back-and-forth has created an invisible barrier, making it hard for either of you to move forward confidently. while there’s an underlying desire to make things work, it seems that neither of you has fully let go of past hurts or fears, which could be slowing down progress.
at the same time, there’s a sense of exhaustion here. you may feel like you’ve invested a lot of time and energy into this connection, only to see limited results. it’s possible that you’ve been waiting for them to meet you at the same level of effort, but that hasn’t materialized yet. this can lead to feelings of frustration or questioning whether continuing to pour energy into this relationship is worth it.
letting go seems to be a major theme for this connection—not necessarily letting go of each other, but of control, expectations, and emotional baggage. one or both of you may be holding on too tightly to a specific vision of what this relationship should look like, and this is preventing it from evolving naturally. the more you both try to control the outcome, the more resistance builds, creating delays and misalignment.
currently, the connection feels like it’s at a crossroads. the energy isn’t inherently negative, but it does require a shift. this relationship has the potential to teach you valuable lessons about patience, communication, and balance, but only if both parties are willing to confront the deeper issues at play. if there’s no willingness to address these blocks, the cycle may continue, leaving you feeling stuck.
if you feel there’s still something meaningful to learn or experience within this connection, staying tuned could bring clarity and growth. however, this will require both you and your person to actively work through your fears, open up communication, and release the patterns that have been holding you back. it’s not just about waiting for them to change—it’s about assessing whether both of you are ready to meet each other halfway.
there’s a possibility of movement and resolution here, but it will take time and effort. ask yourself if you’re willing to invest in this process and if you believe your person is capable of doing the same. the connection has the potential for renewal, but only if both of you can break free from the cycle of hesitation and miscommunication.
if this connection has been leaving you feeling drained, confused, or stuck for too long, it might be time to consider moving on. holding onto something that doesn’t feel reciprocal or fulfilling can block you from experiencing the love and harmony you deserve. letting go doesn’t mean failure—it’s about recognizing when you’ve done all you can and trusting that releasing the connection will make space for something healthier and more aligned.
changing the station doesn’t necessarily mean cutting them off completely, but it could mean stepping back emotionally to focus on your own growth and clarity. sometimes, distance can bring the perspective needed to reassess what you want and deserve in a relationship. at the core of this relationship is a need for clarity. it feels as though both of you are holding onto past wounds, insecurities, or patterns that are preventing the connection from thriving. while the bond is meaningful, it also feels like it’s testing your patience and resilience. you might find yourself wondering if you’re putting in more effort than you’re receiving or if the relationship is bringing out the best in you.
this connection is here to teach you about balance, patience, and the importance of mutual effort. reflect on whether it’s helping you grow or keeping you in a cycle of doubt and overthinking. trust that whichever decision you make—whether to stay tuned or change the station—will lead you closer to the alignment and peace you deserve. the choice is ultimately yours, but remember that you have the power to create a love that feels fulfilling and true. this connection’s purpose seems to be rooted in self-discovery. it’s asking you to reflect on your own boundaries, needs, and what you truly value in a partnership. there’s a lesson here about self-worth—about knowing when to hold on and when to let go. if both of you are willing to confront the issues and work toward a healthier dynamic, there’s potential for growth. however, if the effort continues to feel one-sided or the cycle remains unchanged, it may be time to reassess whether this connection is serving your highest good.
the underlying message here is about trust—trusting yourself, your instincts, and the direction this connection is taking. there’s a sense that you may be holding onto hope because you see potential, but potential alone isn’t enough to sustain a relationship. if you choose to stay, it’s important to have open and honest communication about the patterns that keep repeating and the steps both of you are willing to take to create real change. this is also a time for you to trust in your ability to make the right choice, whether that’s staying or leaving. know that your decision doesn’t define your worth—it’s simply a step toward aligning with what feels true to you.
Pile Two. ₊˚⊹♡.
this connection is charged with intense energy, passion, and determination, but it also carries an undercurrent of imbalance and uncertainty. it feels like a push-and-pull dynamic where both attraction and challenges coexist, creating a relationship that’s both magnetic and exhausting. there’s an undeniable chemistry here, but it’s paired with moments that test your emotional limits. this bond may feel irresistible, pulling you in with its fiery allure, but it also demands careful navigation through moments of tension, control, or impulsivity to find true balance.
at times, this connection may feel almost addictive, as though you’re drawn to the highs and can’t quite let go of the magnetic pull. emotions and interactions often run high, and while the passion can be exhilarating, it also risks overshadowing the deeper emotional truths that need to be explored. one or both of you may have a tendency to charge ahead, focusing on what feels good in the moment without fully considering the long-term consequences. while this can lead to moments of triumph and shared excitement, it can also create instability, leaving you unsure of where you stand. this relationship thrives on its highs—moments of shared admiration, mutual attraction, and undeniable chemistry. but the lows can feel just as powerful, creating a cycle of conflict and reconciliation that may leave you emotionally exhausted over time.
the highs of this connection are undoubtedly rewarding. there’s a sense of pride and admiration in what you’ve built together, even if it feels precarious at times. but with these victories comes a need for greater cooperation and less resistance. without addressing underlying issues, the connection risks becoming stuck in a loop where passion and tension alternate but true growth remains elusive. moments where one or both of you feel the need to control or dominate the narrative can lead to power struggles, which could strain the connection further if left unchecked.
on a deeper level, this relationship seems to be teaching you important lessons about self-awareness and balance. it’s not just about the chemistry and the rush of emotions—it’s about learning to align your desires with your actions and to build something that feels sustainable. the connection has momentum, but without intentional effort, it risks burning out or becoming emotionally draining. this is an opportunity for you to assess what truly matters to you and to ensure that your actions reflect those values.
staying tuned to this connection is an option if you’re willing to embrace both the intensity and the work required to bring balance and emotional depth into the relationship. while the path may not always be smooth, this connection has the potential to thrive if both of you are open to growth and willing to navigate the challenges with patience, understanding, and clear communication. grounding the energy of the relationship is key to ensuring that it remains fulfilling rather than overwhelming.
it’s important to address any tendencies toward impulsivity, control, or resistance, as these can create unnecessary tension and slow down progress. by slowing down and focusing on honest dialogue, you can create a foundation that feels both exciting and secure. the connection’s potential lies in its ability to combine passion with depth, but that requires both of you to be intentional about your actions and aligned in your goals.
if this relationship feels more draining than energizing, or if it seems to be driven primarily by intensity without emotional depth, it might be time to step back. the magnetic pull of the connection doesn’t necessarily mean it’s meant to last forever. stepping back can offer you the clarity needed to determine whether this bond aligns with your long-term goals and emotional needs. changing the station doesn’t have to mean completely walking away—it can mean pausing to reflect and recalibrate your priorities, allowing you to assess whether this connection is truly in your best interest.
this connection is a mix of passion, determination, and intensity, but it needs balance to truly flourish. take the time to reflect on whether the energy you’re investing is bringing you closer to fulfillment or simply creating more tension. this relationship is here to teach you about alignment—how to match your actions with your values and ensure that your desires are in harmony with your long-term goals. whether you choose to stay tuned or change the station, trust that the lessons you’re learning now will guide you toward a connection that feels fully aligned with your highest self. you deserve a relationship that balances passion with stability, intensity with understanding, and excitement with emotional depth. this is your opportunity to move toward a love that not only excites you but also sustains you in the long run.
while the connection has potential, it’s important to assess whether that potential is being realized or if it remains stuck in a space of “what could be.” reflect on whether the actions taken match the emotions felt, and trust your intuition as you decide the best path forward. you deserve a relationship that meets you where you are and grows with you into the future. whatever choice you make, trust that it will lead you to greater alignment with your highest good. however, currently, i've feeling a lean towards you realizing that leaving will provide you the clarity you deserve.
Pile Three. ₊˚⊹♡.
your connection feels like it’s weighed down by unresolved emotions and a lack of balance, but unlike other dynamics, the focus here is on whether the effort being put in matches the potential of the relationship. there’s a strong emotional tie pulling you back, but at the same time, there’s a lingering sense of incompleteness—like something essential is being left undone. it feels as if both of you want the connection to grow, yet one or both of you may not be fully committing to the work required to move forward. this creates an uneven dynamic that can leave you questioning if this is worth holding onto.
the energy suggests that fear is playing a significant role—fear of abandonment, rejection, or losing something that holds value, even if it’s not fulfilling. it’s possible that you’ve been holding on tightly, hoping for improvement, while the other person may be offering inconsistent effort. moments of closeness and warmth make the connection feel promising, but when those moments are followed by distance or stagnation, it creates emotional fatigue.
it feels like there’s a lack of alignment in how each of you approaches the relationship. while there’s a clear desire for stability and something meaningful, actions don’t seem to be matching intentions. whether it’s hesitation to make bold moves, avoidance of deeper conversations, or uncertainty about the future, these delays are keeping the connection in a state of limbo. this pattern of almost moving forward but never quite getting there can leave you feeling stuck and drained, unable to fully let go but also unable to fully grow together.
this connection seems to be teaching you about the importance of reciprocity and boundaries. it’s not just about giving your energy to the relationship—it’s about ensuring that your efforts are being met with the same level of care and dedication. relationships thrive when both people are equally invested, and this situation is asking you to reflect on whether that balance exists. it’s a moment for you to step back and ask yourself if the energy you’re pouring into this connection is truly leading to growth, or if it’s keeping you in a cycle of hope and waiting.
if you believe there’s value in continuing this relationship, it will require clear communication and a willingness from both sides to address what’s missing. the potential for growth is there, but it will only manifest if both of you are ready to rebuild the foundation with honesty and mutual effort. it’s not enough for one person to carry the emotional weight—both of you need to meet each other halfway. if you decide to stay, make sure you establish boundaries that protect your energy and give the relationship room to grow without compromising your own needs.
on the other hand, if this connection feels like it’s taking more than it’s giving, or if you see no signs of improvement, it may be time to step back. letting go doesn’t mean failure—it means choosing to prioritize your emotional well-being and opening yourself up to connections that align better with your values and desires. walking away can bring clarity, allowing you to refocus on what truly matters to you. sometimes, releasing a relationship is the most empowering choice, especially if it’s keeping you from finding the balance and peace you deserve.
one of the most striking aspects of this connection is how it highlights your inner strength and capacity for love. even in moments of uncertainty or imbalance, you’ve shown how deeply you can feel and how much you’re willing to give for the sake of love. this isn’t something to overlook—it’s a testament to your emotional depth and your desire for something meaningful. however, it’s important to ensure that your love and effort are being met in return.
while this relationship has potential, it’s equally important to acknowledge if that potential is being realized. are the actions being taken matching the emotions being expressed? is this connection helping you grow, or is it holding you in a space of “what could be”? your intuition holds the answer, and it’s guiding you toward a decision that will bring you closer to alignment with your highest self.
right now, the energy leans toward the realization that stepping away may provide you with the clarity and freedom you deserve. holding onto something that feels unbalanced only prolongs your journey toward the love and partnership that will truly fulfill you. trust that whatever choice you make will lead you to greater alignment, peace, and the relationship that reflects the love and dedication you bring to the table. you deserve a connection that uplifts you and grows with you, not one that leaves you questioning your worth or effort.
