yeah, so there's this thing called "storytelling" where you show and tell when things happen so readers get a sense of time and space. and people are allowed to be annoyed and/or make jokes about how a character has not aged visibly and keeps reverting back to a space he was in when he was younger

Which I think we need to take a moment to analyze.#It's probably easiest to look at this as ship-tease but I think it's far more in line with how WWX's mask is slipping.#He knows full well how poorly touching LWJ's headband went in the past.#But somehow - in this moment of his anger being targeted at JZX - that crucial information is forgotten.#He's got tunnel vision over something so small...and what do we know about emotions that don't suit the supposed cause?#Why that would be displacement. Something is bothering him and it sure is *not* just Jin Zixuan's fancy ass.#WWX came back but he didn't come back the same. It's rather unsettling how it feels like he's putting on a performance of himself here.

#would i like to do an analysis on the lighting? yes.#but for some reason my brain is only capable of analyzing bf and some bits of tgwdlm #dont expect much from me #but something i CAN say is that #the colors can represent their motivations and connections to the lords in black #such as dying in the waylon hall and getting to use the black book #and by motivations i mean #with grace; she decided to use the powers of the black book to get rid of 'dirty dudes'#which is something she most likely believes as a correct action #but the red highlights indicate the bits on evilness in her #it shows how her intentions don't change her actions #and for max; red is for vengeance #yet the blue highlights are used in here #mostly for 'who will pray for me' bit #and #this is something related. i believe that max was reflecting himself when saying those lines #it was not only for richie to repeat but also about himself #anyway back to the lighting #the blue represents that there is something deeper than just vengeance #'who will pray for me when im gone'#thats about himself. he knows that no one in the schoo really cared that much about his death besides the game #they only cared about the game. not max himself #so the lights during both npmd and ddmd represent #their connections to the lords. their motivations and intent. and how their actions are made #starkid #hatchetfield #nerdy prudes must die #npmd #max jagerman #grace chasity

There are shows that I'm disappointed got cancelled but I'm genuinely mad about Dead Boy Detectives. Like that was a huge fuckup on Netflix's part, and Netflix being Netflix means they won't part with the show and sell it to another studio if they can avoid it, while also not actually doing anything with it.

"Yeah but it had low viewership" I live in Los Angeles, tv show and film capital of the world, and saw a grand total of one billboard and very few posters... When the show had already been released.

I think they did get the mural on Melrose, the one near Fairfax, but I don't remember seeing it complete which is usually not a great sign.

The designs for the posters and billboards were so cool too, like they legitimately just threw 3 years of hundreds of people's work straight in the trash before the show even came out. I will literally never stop being mad about this.

finally got to sit down and draw my interpretation of Penelope, queen of Ithaca, from epic: the musical

also as a bonus, her namesake duck

#epic the musical #epic penelope #so. i got a few things to say as usual when i work on a design #first i knew penelope had a namesake duck. because her name literally means duck #there's another interpretation for her name but i couldn't ignore how wholesome it is. allegedly there's a myth around it too #where she was cast away by her parents and thrown in the water but was saved by ducks who carried her to shore #so her parents accepted her back. and not gonna lie i really liked that story #so i knew i would choose a hairdo that could specifically recall the feathers of a duck. and wouldn't you know #studying greek hairstyles and accessories i saw this hairnet the women would use. that makes the hair do just that #so that was the first clear thing i had in mind for her. next i looked at her namesake duck. and seeing its patterns i knew #that i had to give her freckles. and brown hair and eyes obviously #next is about her being spartan. i know stuff could change once she married odysseus. but also i didn't want her to separate too much from #her origins. so i like to think of her as fit and simple in style #i like to think she prefers to show through words and wits (matching her husband) that she means business #not through jewelry or fancy clothes. so she sports some jewelry but not too much #i also sneaked a duck in one of her brooches. because why not #and yeah i mean. i struggled picturing her shorter or same height as odysseus. i made him a short king and you'll deal with it #my art

this is absolutely not professional advice but there's something about trust and handling and cooperative care that just boils down to whether your dog knows you have their best interest in mind. it's not just trusting your bond or them being calm or whatever, it's about experience. the time your dog gets a bone or a stick or a pez dispenser stuck between their teeth ideally shouldn't be the first time you poke your fingers in their mouth and they shouldn't be running away from you thinking you're trying to take it from them. there's something about your dog knowing not to freak out because parts of this experience is not new to them, and it's going to be fine.

#sparty used to get stuff stuck between molar and premolar (easy level - pulled loose from outside)#troj tends to get it stuck along the roof of the mouth between the upper carnassials which is more #of a cave diving experience #now. i feed bones (controversial) but honestly #i would not be comfortable feeding bones or anything with bones in them if i wasnt sure my dogs trusted me to let me handle them and that #is NOT something that came by itself. i havent been shoving my face and hands into these dogs' spaces (respectfully)#continuously since they were 8wk old babies for no reason #when you get a baby puppy you gotta treat em like ur a judge at a terrier show sometimes #grab em span em lift em up shake em #see if theyve got any change stuck anywhere

I love this show. Anyways, AU where an Evil!Mark tries to make Our!Mark worse, and Our!Mark tries to make the other better. Something something confronting your idea of the worst version of oneself. Plus, tweaked black and yellow costume because I saw it and immediately went murder hornet lookin' ass and knew I had to draw it. Evil ass Mark. Horrible. I think he should be dragged kicking and screaming into redemption.
