Love Bugs: Insect Dorm Leaders x Reader Part 1
It's yandere so don't read if you don't like. Also, to all my requests still working on them, I just needed a small break from Jojo's. This is my opinion on what insect they'd be, and I'll probably write full stories for each of them. If you think something fits them better, just let me know. These are scenarios that are not going to be part of the main story. Reader is gender neutral. They get a little long but hey enjoy.
Riddle: Fire Ant
How could this have happened? You were having a nice day in the park, which turned into a nightmare. Ginormous fire ants swarmed the park and attacked anyone they saw on sight. Frantically, you ran to find a place to hide. Quickly ducking behind a tree as a group of the loyal foot soldiers skittered by. Peeping around the corner, you prayed that those horrid carnivorous ants were gone.
Voices in the distance. You duck back and sink to the base of the tree, praying to the Gods that the voices don't come closer. If only the Gods didn't hate you so much. "Dueceeeee, this is so boring! Why didn't Riddle send someone else out here?" The voice held a childish yet bored tone to it and it sounded human. Could they be humans? "Quit whining it's an honor to be assigned such an important task for the King." The other voice sounded just as youthful as the first but with a more responsible air. King? What King? Your curiosity got the better of you as you peeped back around the tree to see who was talking.
To your horror you saw two men which look human from the head down to the torso (minus the antenna). From the torso down they had the body of ants... fire ants. Your luck got worse by the minute as the blue haired one spotted you. "Oi, you get out from behind that tree!" You yelped at the harsh tone and did the only rational thing. Run. Run far and fast. You could hear the sound of your heart pounding in your ears as you escaped certain death.
Almost.
"Gotcha" You squeak in surprise as you feel a pair of arms circle around your waist. You thrash in the redhead's arms as he laughs at your pitiful attempt to escape. "Nice try but you're nothing but a puny human compared to- ow!" You bit down hard on the closest bit of flesh that you could find. When it came down to it, you were going to fight for your life. Even if it meant biting the strange hybrid that was holding you. Running the opposite direction, you again find yourself captured by the redhead's blue companion. "Argh that little bitch, I ought to eat them for biting me." You trembled at the threat as the redhead glared daggers at you. "Quit whining, we need to report back to the King our findings." Duece stated before lifting you over his back and walking in the direction they came from. Ace chuckled a little, a sadistic glint filling his red eyes. "Yeah, let Riddle decide what to do with them. I can't wait! Oi, you hear that bitey? Riddle's gonna destroy you." The jeers do nothing to comfort you as you continued to scream and kick against the man's hard exoskeleton.
The duo arrived at a site that made your eyes widen with fear. An ant's nest that looked almost like a mountain. Thousands of ants and ant hybrids were moving in and out of the mound. The sight alone made you very queasy. That's it for humanity, if there were more of them inside. The duo holding you hostage crawled past the fellow ants who all drooled hungrily at the sight of you, causing you to shiver. You were going to be torn to pieces by a bunch of hungry ants. You silently sobbed as you lamented your fate.
Skittering through the corridors, the duo made it to their destination. Your ears were met with a joyful squeal as you heard someone skitter closer. "Ah that human you have is so cute! Can I touch it?" Even though the voice was friendly the dehumanizing way he treated you scared you a little, causing you to actively try and wriggle away from the excited voice. Another voice spoke. "Riddle won't be two pleased that you brought a human into the colony. You know the rule-" "Yeah, yeah no human shall dwell in or know of the colony. We just thought he might like this one as a trophy of sorts." The redhead spoke to the unknown voice with confidence oozing from his words. The ant he was talking to sighed. "Alright, I'm only allowing this since he's in a good mood from the hunt. Just don't be surprised when you find yourself headless." With that the two moved forward allowing you to see who the two were talking two. A green haired man with glasses who looked nervous, and a ginger who gave you a quick wink before returning to his post.
Inside the room you could hear the skittering of the ants and a single voice that rose above the others and gave out commands. "You two take those bodies to the food cellar. I want them to be preserved for future meals." The voice ordered in a serious tone. So much for a good mood. "Hey your majesty." The red head drawled out as they stepped before the King's humongous throne. An exasperated sigh came from the top of the throne. "What a pleasant surprise to see my scavengers come back empty handed. Weren't you supposed to look for survivors?" The man you have yet to see had a voice dripping with sarcasm. Duece knelt before the king causing your body to slide and fall off the man's shoulder. "Apologies your majesty, we were searching for more survivors, but we got a bit distracted." Duece hesitated at the end of sentence. The King falls silent before retorting. "Distracted? How?" Cue you lifting your head, a little disoriented from the fall. All of the ants gasped as the supposedly dead human rose shakily to their feet. You looked up at the throne to see an adorable man sitting on the dirt throne.
He had short red hair that blended in well with his antenna making the heart shaped antenna look like his hair. A crown of leaves and flowers sat atop his head, and two wide stormy grey eyes stared down at you with interest. His plush lips pulled a neutral look on his baby face as he looked at the scene with indifference. A ring of giant soldier ants with spears formed around the three of you, ready to tear the rule breakers apart.
That's it. You weren't going down without a fight. You turned towards the nearest guard and sunk your teeth into the fleshy part of his arm. He dropped his spear out of fear and surprise to clutch his hurt arm. You grabbed the spear from the floor and wasted no time charging at the guards. Even though the ants were bigger and stronger than you, you fought for your life. Slashing and jabbing at the soldier ants. Duece and his redheaded friend joined in the fight for their hides, beating back the soldiers. As you fought, it became very clear that this was a losing battle. One of the soldiers manages to knock the spear out of your hand and leaves you defenseless. This was it; you were going to die.
Instead of the sound of the spear piercing your internal organs and the feeling of pain attached the sound of clapping echoes through the chambers. From up on the throne Riddle is clapping with a smug look on his face, like an Emperor watching his favorite gladiator win. "Well done human, you have thoroughly impressed me." Riddle stood from his throne and waved his hand. The guards and all other ants nearby bowed low to the ground as the King approached. Up close you were able to see that he was much shorter than most of the ants here but commanded the room with his royal presence. You keep eye contact with the King and glare at him, causing a wicked smirk to appear on his face. "I must say of all the humans I've met you have the most spirit." He grabs your chin in a crushing grip. His gray eyes meeting your (e/c) eyes. Even in the face of the most powerful ant here, you refused to back down.
Riddle laughs at your defiance before leaning in close enough that your foreheads touched. "Let's see how long that spirit lasts." He blows warm air into your face causing you to flinch back. Riddle's amusement drops as he addresses the duo you came in with. "See to it that those two are locked away until I can come up with a fitting punishment." Some of the guards nod before dragging the ragged and confused duo away. Riddle turns back to you and smiles. "Good news you'll remain with your life." He turns to the ginger in the hallway and snaps his finger. The ginger comes in obediently. "Bad news is, your life in mine now." With that last statement the ginger urges you through the door and away from the King's watchful gaze.
Riddle returns to his throne and sighs happily, for the first time in a while he's found something worth his time. A human, a toy, and perhaps in the future a queen. Riddle chuckles to himself at his musings. However, he does know...
Every King needs a Queen
Leona: Ant Lion
Curiosity killed the cat.
Was that how the phrase went?
It must when it slipped through the elders' lips with such ease. They would always say it directed at you, with their judgmental looks and wagging fingers. However, you never paid any heed as these geezers were just looking out for you because you brought them food.
You were an ant, a worker ant specifically.
You were also a curious little insect.
Ever since you were a larva you dreamed of joining your siblings, friends, and neighbors to help scavenge for food and fight off enemies. However secretly you also selfishly hoped to go out and see a little more of the world you called home. Sure, it was dangerous for you to wander too far from the colony, but you were strong. All ants were strong and if only they would just use it differently. It was always "We're strong to protect the colony" or "We're strong to gather food" never anything about the individual.
You sighed as you worked with five other ants to carry a leaf back to the colony for supper. Your job was to fetch and deliver, no questions asked. The colony needs food and without you, it gets no food. You are important yes, but you only get to see a small part of your world. The part the scouts deemed safe and plentiful.
There was a job you wanted. Part of the scouts. The ones who risked their lives and explored the corners of the world in search of food and places to expand. In your dream like state, you almost dropped your part of the leaf which caused the team to groan at you. "(Y/N) you're not focusing." Neema complained. Neema was a close acquaintance of yours and the only one who didn't outright chastise your dreams. She was a dark-skinned beauty with short frizzy hair and almond eyes.
"Sorry, just thinking." You replied staring wistfully off onto the savannah. The sun cast a radiant glow on the acacia trees. Trees that you never climbed. There were watering holes that you never swam in, beasts you never faced. So much to do in your short life and you were wasting it picking up stupid leaves.
"Hey, I know as soon as we get back to the colony, we can help sort the food, that way we get first pick." Neema's dark eyes filled with joy at the mention of food. "All you think about is food." Was all you could say at your friend's childish remarks. "That's what ants think about food and work." Neema beamed proudly. She was the definition of everything you were not. Hardworking, food focused, and successful. In fact, you two might have been friends if that was all you cared about.
But it wasn't...
You had snuck out of the colony for some fresh air. During dinner time it can be a little chaotic. There were thousands of your people getting food. You had worked all day picking up leaves and sorting food, that you weren't hungry when it was time to eat. Sick of the sight of food.
No not you, you wanted to see the sun set over the savannah and the thousands of twinkling stars. Feel the gentle caress of the wind on her face and antennas. To breath the fresh air and not the hot and sticky air in the colony. You wanted freedom. More than anything. However, you knew an ant alone cannot survive for long. God you were so frustrated! Why do you feel like this when no one else does?
You wanted to cry your frustration out, you wanted to run. Where? You didn't know but you sure as hell didn't want to be here. With no other thought in mind, you ran.
Everything was a blur around you as you ran without a care in the world. Screw not being able to survive on your own, you wanted to thrive. Even if you lived just one more day, you want to live freely.
You should have watched where you were going.
Thump! You rolled straight into a sand pit, hurting not only your pride but your legs a bit. You twitched your six legs to see if they were in operating condition. Your middle and back ones were fine, but your two front ones hurt like hell.
Great, just great.
Things just couldn't get any worse.
"Hmm...what could have possibly ruined my slumber?"
Crap
You remember what the elders told you about sand pits, if any ant was unlucky enough to fall into one. Also, more importantly what hid in them. The sand began to rustle beneath you, causing your fear to rise. You needed to get out of here. Away from the Ant Lion. As he yawned and stretched you climbed with all your might on your four working legs. The sand was so uneven that you kept slipping back in with tears in your eyes.
Flick
Sand was thrown in your eyes causing your vision to blur. You cried in pain as more sand was thrown at you. You slipped further and further down the trap towards the waiting jaws of your predator. "Tch stop struggling herbivore, it's no use." You screamed at the lazy voice that was closer than you were comfortable with. Standing on all your legs to try to escape, you yelp in pain and fall back down. You tried blinking the sand out of your eyes to see the face of your killer.
Green eyes.
A handsome man with green eyes and tan skin stared down at you. He was much larger than you and stronger by the looks of it. His long dark hair flowed down his back in waves. You would have thought the man was an ant like you, except the lack of antenna. As well as the two sharp looking pincers in his mouth.
"Hm, you're a lot cuter than my usual prey. Tell you what, you agree to become my pillow and I won't eat you till morning." You could only squeak as you felt a strong pair of arms wrap around your soft torso. A sharp thing poked you in the neck back causing you to freeze up. "I need an agreement little ant, otherwise I might be tempted to eat you right here and now." You nodded swiftly causing the Ant Lion to purr and burry you both into the sand. Before you were completely submerged you hear him speak.
"I might just keep you after all because..."
You're too good to eat
Azul: Diving Bell Spider
You wished you had listened to your mother.
You wish you hadn't been so stupid
So naive
So kind
It was too late now as you were trapped in the lake with a man who claimed to love you ever since you showed him kindness all those years ago.
You were a cute and bubbly kid known for a kind heart and loud voice. Being the bundle of energy you were, your parents often sent you outside to play. You especially liked playing outside your family lake house. Swimming in the lake, chasing ducks, and catching fireflies at night were some of your favorite things to do. However, one day you met someone you firmly wish now you never met.
You had snuck out of the lake house early in the morning while your parents were still asleep. Hoping to get some early morning swimming in before breakfast, you tore over to the lake in your swimsuit. You jumped off the dock and began to playfully splash around giggling with joy. You stop splashing about and just let your tiny body relax, floating gently on the lake surface. As you absorbed the sounds of nature you heard the sound of...crying? You popped your head above the water and listened intently to find where the sound was coming from. Searching high and low, you were unable to locate where the sound was coming from until you noticed a small figure underneath the reeds.
It was a small boy but unlike you he was only a few inches tall. From the waist up he was a pudgy little boy with silver hair and blue eyes. From below the waist he had the body of a spider. The boy noticed you and shrieked in fear. "Who-who are you?" You beamed down at the boy with a friendly smile. "I'm (Y/N)! Wanna be friends?" The boy eyed you suspiciously before crying some more. "Why would you want to be friends with a fat, stupid, spider like me?" Your eyes softened at the boy's harsh statement. "I don't think you're stupid." The boy stops sniffling and stared up at you, blue eyes filled with hope. "You don't?"
"Nope!" You chirped cheerfully offering your hand to your new tiny friend. He hesitated once more before carefully climbing onto the palm of your hand. You lifted it up to your face so you could see your friend better. He bashfully tried to hide himself from your curious gaze. Nodding your head satisfactorily you smiled at the boy in your hand. "You're the prettiest kid I've ever seen!" Your words cause the boy in your hand to cover his face in embarrassment.
"What's your name pretty new friend?"
"Azul."
"Nice to meet you Azul."
"You too (Y/N)."
You and Azul hung out every day since the day you met. You'd come to the lake and Azul would wait for you on the bank. Then the two of you would play all sorts of games together. Azul showed you all kind of new and cool places near the lake that you had never seen before. You really liked hanging out with your new friend. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end as Summer came to an end. Your family was going to move back to your regular home for the school year, which meant saying goodbye to your friend.
"Azul I'm not coming back tomorrow." You stated sadly which caused the little spider great shock. "Why?" He sounded so heartbroken at your words. "I have to go home." You state sadly unable to look at your friend out of guilt. "I thought you lived with the humans in the house?" Azul's voice was wavering a bit as he tried not to cry. "This isn't my real home; my real home is far away from here." "No!" The little spider boy clung to your thumb like his life depended on it. "You can't leave, I love you." You patted the poor boy's head gently.
"I love you too Azul, you're my best friend." Azul's eyes lit with hope at your words. "Then you'll come back soon, right?" You smiled and nodded. "Yep, totally will!" "Promise?" Azul stuck his pinky out childishly. "Promise." You giggled booping him gently with your pinky.
Many years had passed, and you were now a grown woman. You had forgotten all about Azul and the promise you made to him. Instead, you were focusing on your last Summer of freedom before heading off to college. You brought a couple of friends and your current crush (c/n) with you to the lake house.
"Come on (Y/N), what's taking you so long?" Your good friend Bess asked stamping her foot in exasperation. You laughed at your friend's impatience. "I'm coming, don't worry." You eagerly walked out of the bathroom in your new bathing suit. "Wow (Y/N), wait till (c/n) gets a load of you looking all good." You blush at Bess' compliment before rushing past her. "Last one off the pier has to make lunch." "What no fair!"
The day was perfect. You spent plenty of time with your friends and even flirted a little with (c/n). (c/n) flirted back with you causing your heart to soar at the thought of them liking you. After you finished dinner, you went out onto the pier to relax a little bit. You sighed in contentment for the day and the days ahead. The sound of crickets and frogs lulled you gently into a state of calm. You yawned and stretched a little. Hmm you must be tired, time to go to-
You woke with a crick in your neck and back and well everything. Sleeping on the pier was not a good idea. Not to mention the mosquito bites you had accumulated throughout the night. Well, time for some breakfast. You went into the house to start fixing breakfast. The smell of fresh pancakes and bacon ought to wake Bess and the others right up. When you finished, no one came outside of their rooms.
Strange. Normally someone would be stirring at this point. Oh well they can fix their own breakfast. You ate in the silence of the house which gnawed at you. Alright, something is wrong. You walked up to Bess' room and knocked. One time. Two times. The third time you let yourself in. No one was in that room. In fact, the bed was freshly made like no one had even slept in it. You checked the other rooms of your friends. Empty. Worry and pancakes were not a good mix. Finally, you came to (c/n)'s room which laid empty but with a note on the bed.
"Come to the pier tonight darling."
-A
Okay, who was pulling a prank on you? It was not funny. Safe to say you were showing up at the pier tonight to give someone a piece of your mind. First, she had to clean the plates and then hatch your plan.
You came to the pier at night as the note said. However, you didn't see a single soul there. Another bothering thing was that your friends and (c/n) hadn't returned from wherever they went. You might as well sit down and wait for the mysterious Mx. A to show up.
"Oya careful where you sit." You jumped back as a dragonfly flew up from where you were about to sit. "Did you just t-talk?" The dragonfly person in question just smirked and flew close to your face. He had teal hair, and one eye was gold and the other was olive. A black piece of hair fell to the right of his face. "Yes, I did t-talk have any q-questions?" Your face paled at this site. Fairies weren't real and yet there was a tiny man in front of you with dragonfly wings.
"Jade stop teasing Giaganto so much, I want a turn too!" A childish voice whined out and a second dragonfly man zoomed over. He looked almost like a mirror image of the first man except he had his hair piece on the left and different eye shape.
"My apologies Mx (Y/N) you're just so fun to tease. My name is Jade, and this is my twin brother Floyd." Jade spoke while doing a little bow. The other brother, Floyd, had a lazy grin on his face. "Hiya Giganto, Azul's been talkin about ya all the time!"
"Azul?" That name sounded...familiar. Where did you possibly hear that name from? The two dragonflies smirked at each other before turning to you with wide grins. "Yeah, he heard all about your little troubles Giganto!" Floyd said in a "sad" tone while circling your head. "Yes, your dear lost friends who abandoned you." Jade responded, making himself comfortable on your right shoulder. You were insulted at Jade's implications "They didn't abandon me... they just must have gotten lost." You finished your sentence not too confidently. The twins caught onto that and grinned deviously at the other. "Lost indeed but not forever." Jade responded sitting elegantly on your shoulder.
"You know where they are?" You asked hesitantly, not fully trusting the twin dragonflies. Floyd stopped zipping around your head and settled on your left shoulder. "Not us but Azul knows, he knows everything you could ever want to know." There was that name again that you were having a hard time placing where you heard it. "Could you take me to him?" The twins chuckled to themselves like you said the funniest thing. "Of course." They responded together, Chesire grins on their faces. You then followed the devious dragonflies to the place they led you.
You found yourself in the lake swimming towards the small "island" of lily pads. The water was murky and dark at night making it hard to see what lay at the bottom. "Come on Giganto, he's right here!" Floyd flew ahead with his brother Jade in tow. Lucky bastards got wings while you had to swim in your clothes.
Floating towards the first lily pad you could see the figure of a man spider hybrid waiting calmy on the leaf. He smiles as he sees the twins approaching with you following behind. "Welcome Mx. (Y/N) I've been expecting a visit from you." "You have?" The spider nodded his silver locks bouncing. "Yes, I do believe you have a problem. All with problems on this lake come to me." Azul's smile was practiced as he reached his arms up towards you to come closer. You lean your head down to his level. He smiles, satisfied with your obedience as he saunters closer to you. "Your friends have gone missing have they not?" You nodded. "Well, I happen to know where they are." You perked up at the spider's confidence. "You do?" Azul smirks at your answer and pats you nose affectionately.
"I know where they are and how to bring them back." He states with a businessman grin. This was perfect. Though Azul seemed sketchy he looked like he was telling the truth. "However... this kind of deed comes with a price" You deflated at his words. What could the spider possibly want? "I don't have a lot of-" Azul places a hand to your lips "I'm not asking you for money." His eyes darken with greed as he places both hands on his walking stick. "What I want is you." Huh?
"My what?" All three insects chuckle at your naivety. "Not any of your possessions just you. See I've been very fond of you for years now and I feel it's only fair that you fulfill your promise you made all those years ago." Promise? What promise? Your eyes reflected your confusion, which caused anger to cloud Azul's blue eyes. "You don't remember...after all these years of patiently waiting." He chuckles bitterly to himself and looks back up at you.
"I suppose it can't be helped, you're a busy person. I'm a busy person so I'll cut to the chase. Be with me and your friends can go back to living their normal lives. Choose your own freedom and well...your friends will never see the light of day." He springs the ultimatum on you causing your eyes to widen. "What did you do to my friends?" Azul glances at you in a lovesick way before planting a kiss on your nose. "What I had to do to get you back where you belong. With me." You glared down at that swindling. lying, no good crook. He stole your friends and lured you out here to become his giant pet. However, Azul held all the cards, and you were forced to cave into his demands.
"Fine..." Azul perked up at your acquiesce. "Wonderful! You won't regret it. I'll treat you so much better than any human ever could my little jewel." He then turned to his lackies and nodded causing them to fly away. "First my friends." You said in a demanding tone. "Already taken care of my dear. They've been returned to their beds as if none of this happened." Azul responded adoringly, stroking your cheek, causing you to shiver in disgust.
"What do you plan on doing to me?" You asked the spider who giggled giddily. "Loving you for the rest of our lives but first, getting rid of that height advantage." Azul pulled out a vial from his pocket and handed it to you. "I've been working hard to make this ever since I met you. It's a potion that will make you, my size." Great he was prepared too. Well, a deal's a deal. Reluctantly, you threw the tiny vial down your mouth. Nothing happened for a while before you felt like you were falling in midair. Landing straight into the lake. Without wasting a second, the spider greedily grabbed you and dove into the water. You were losing air quick as you dove deeper into the lake. He cooed over you as you lost conscious. Before you went out you heard him whisper.
I love you very much my treasure.
Kalim: Peacock Butterfly
The desert's an unforgiving place for many. You being one of them. After losing your caravan and family you wandered the desert aimlessly in hopes of finding them. However, each day grew hotter and hotter, and each night grew colder and colder. You were tired, hungry, and so very thirsty. Not only that but desperate for somebody, anybody to talk to.
You would sleep during the day in caves or even bury yourself in the sand. Then when night fell, you'd search once more for your lost family. At this point you were searching for someone, anyone to save her from dying of hunger and thirst. One morning the sun was so harsh that she couldn't sleep through the day. Why not carry on?
You were reduced to crawling through the desert in hopes of finding some form of shade and water. Scanning your small view of things, you couldn't find anything. You were losing hope and vision as blurry spots began to dot the corners of the world. That's not good. Wearly standing up you spotted up ahead an oasis. Was this a mirage? You didn't care as you used your remaining strength to run towards this haven. You had to make it. You had to make it. Your vision began to become smaller and smaller as the oasis grew closer and closer. You practically threw yourself onto the ground of the oasis and landed in some bushes. Safe at last. You could taste the water now. However, as soon as you tried to stand up, you promptly fainted.
You awoke lying on something very soft. Was this heaven? Opening your eyes, you saw you were on a very comfortable and stylish bed. The room around you looked like something you would see in a Sultan's palace. Heaven was rich. However, you were not alone as a woman wearing an abaya came in and made a low bow. This was already a little strange, made stranger by the pair of wings on her back. "Are you an angel?" You asked the woman. The woman giggled and shook her head. "Not unless the honored guest wishes for me to be." Guest? "Guest?" You repeated your thoughts aloud to the woman.
"Master Al-Asim found you unconscious and brought you here. He's been very worried for your health ever since." The woman took a cup from the tray that lay neatly on the bedside table. "You must be very thirsty." You didn't have to be told twice. You snatched the cup from the woman and greedily drank the cool and refreshing water. Felt like bliss having some liquid. The woman refilled your cup, and you drank. This repeated for some time until you were satisfied. You immediately laid back down on the pillowy softness of the bed.
Wait a minute. You shot up from the bed and stared at the woman. "You have wings!" The woman chuckled at your astute observation. "Indeed, I have." That response floored you. "How?" The woman looked confused. "I was born with them Master..." "(Y/N)" You responded. "Master (Y/N) it is a pleasure to humbly serve you." All of this was happening to fast. People with wings? Master? "You can call me (Y/N) Miss..." "Esmat Master (Y/N)." Darn Esmat was stubborn.
You two spoke for a while. She told you that the Al-Asim Oasis was the biggest Oasis in the desert. Supporting hundreds of thousands with its bountiful water. Since the Al-Asim Oasis was created and maintained by the Al-Asims they were the wealthiest and most powerful family in the entire Oasis. Their oldest son Kalim Al-Asim was the one who found you unconscious and brought you back to his family home.
"Oh, my I forgot to tell the young master that you are awake. Please forgive me Master (Y/N) it has been very lovely talking to you, but I must go." Esmat left leaving you unsupervised in your room. Well you guess you could just-
You heard hurried footsteps approaching your chambers followed by cries of worry from people in the hallway. A white-haired boy burst through the door. His red eyes lit up with delight as he flew over to you with a goofy grin. "You're awake, oh I just knew it!" Suddenly, your world goes topsy turvy as you collapse onto the bed with the energetic boy hugging you. The boy in question's multicolored wings fluttering with happiness. "Kalim don't crush them!" A voice behind you spoke another. This guy was part man part scorpion with long dark hair and dark colored eyes. "Sorry Jamil, I'm just so happy to see them awake." The boy sheepishly responded while still laying on top of you. This boy had no shame. "Um Mister Al-Asim sir, could you please get off of me." Kalim looked at you and smiled. "Just call me Kalim..." "(Y/N)" "Ooh cool name!" "Yeah, Kalim can you get off me please?" The boy looked confused before realizing he was still on her.
"Oh, sorry about that!" He then hops off and stands in front of you with a grin. He was practically floating with how fast his wings were fluttering. This guy was always happy huh? "How are you feeling?" The man behind Kalim, Jamil you think asks you. "Fine, just a bit disoriented." You answered causing Jamil to nod. Kalim smiles and bounces on his heals. "We should totally have a feast to celebrate you waking up. Jamil start preparations immediately." Jamil rolls his eyes at the boy's commands but scuttles off. Leaving you and the hyperactive butterfly boy alone.
"So those wings are real?" Kalim smiles. "Yep! Wanna touch them?" You nod as you are curious as to what butterfly wings feel like. Reaching you hand out to touch them you graze the top gently. Kalim hitches a breath. "Was that okay?" You asked worried you hurt your savior. "Oh yes it's just my wings are very sensitive. It felt nice though." You continued to gently caress Kalim's wings which caused pleasant shivers for the Al-Asim. The two of you stayed like this for a while before your stomach began to growl. Very loudly waking Kalim from his trance. "Oh, are you hungry? Let's check on Jamil and see how the feast is going!" The white-haired butterfly boy grabbed your hand and ran out of the room.
The Al-Asim house was practically a palace with many workers bustling about and completing their daily tasks. Many pointed and whispered at what an odd couple the Al-Asim heir and his "special guest" were. However, Kalim was completely ignorant to all that happened around him as he continued running towards the dining hall.
The dining hall was massive and very luxurious, you looked around to see servants bustling around with plates of food and placing them down at the table. Kalim urged you to sit beside him on the soft looking pillows beside the table. Excitedly Kalim began placing food on the plate in front of you encouraging you to taste a bit of everything. Asking you how everything was and becoming increasingly more pleased with each response. "It's all made by Jamil. Isn't he the best?" You nodded once more before turning back to your food eagerly. He then began asking about you.
"Where are you from?" "Huh?" You asked the boy who had stars in his eyes to repeat himself again. "Well, you're not from around here because you reacted so weird to my wings." You scoffed at his reasoning before smirking. "You seemed to be enjoying it when I was petting them." Kalim's cheeks turned bright pink at your words. "Well, you were very gentle with them." You chuckled at his reaction finding him cute. Friendly and cute. "To answer your question, I'm from the desert beyond the Al-Asim Oasis." Kalim's ruby eyes became wider at the knowledge. "I knew it! You'll have to tell me all about life out there." Kalim squealed focusing his whole attention on you. It felt almost like you were an elder telling the children tales about the times of old.
"What would you like to know?" You asked smiling gently at the boy. "Anything and everything especially about you!" You blushed at the last part of his statement. "Well, I lived in a caravan with my family, we never stayed in one place for long." Kalim eagerly took in the information you gave him. You smiled as you recounted memories with your family and friends on the caravan. Days playing in the desert, trading the goats you raised, and dancing around the campfire at night. The whole time Kalim stared intently at you with a large smile on his face. "I miss my family you know." You finished bitterly as the memories were all you had left of them.
Kalim's eyes softened with worry. "What happened to them?" You looked away from those sympathetic eyes in pain. It was bound to come up at some point, but it didn't take away the weight from it. "A sandstorm, the caravan encountered a great sandstorm. By the time it was over I was left alone, separated from my family and everything I've ever known." You couldn't stop the tears that began to pool in the corners of your eyes. It hurt so bad to be lost and alone. Dying in the desert didn't really matter as much as dying alone in the desert did. You felt a pair of arms wrap around you and Kalim's soothing voice hushing your worries and whispering encouragements in your ear. You went limp in Kalim's embrace, too tired to cry or do really anything anymore.
You woke in the middle of the night, feeling pressure on your chest. You looked over to see Kalim lying beside you with his head on your chest. What happened besides you breaking down, you don't remember. The haze of emotions clouded your judgement and memory. You tried not to shift to quickly to your feet, to avoid waking the boy. Speaking of Kalim, he looked so peaceful with a gentle smile on his face as opposed to his rambunctious one. Is this guy ever not handsome? Wait handsome, what are you thinking? A groan stops your panicked thoughts as the aforementioned boy opened his eyes sleepily.
"(Y/N)? What are you doing up?" He asked with a yawn. "I couldn't sleep. Why are you in my room?" Kalim hummed before snuggling back into your chest. "What do you mean, we're in my room. You were struggling in your sleep so I thought having someone with you would get rid of the nightmares." Well, that got your attention. Looking around you saw that you were in fact not in your room. This room was bigger and ten times more luxurious than your personal guest room. Kalim settled down right back where he was, drifting back to sleep. "Hey, get off me mister!" You lightly pushed away the sleepy man, who barely resisted it. "Nooooo, you're so comfy." Kalim whines while trying to crawl back to you. You stood up and walked away to the doors that led out to a balcony to get some fresh air. Hearing nothing but whining coming from Kalim.
The cool desert air felt refreshing on you heated skin. For a not so big man Kalim produced a lot of body heat. Looking around the Oasis you could see the lights of this small metropolis glow and felt amazement. Never have you seen a sight like this before. "Looks pretty cool huh?" Kalim surprised you from behind, he looked at you smiling. "Wanna see it from above?" You were already looking from a balcony so how much higher could you get. "You mean from the roof?" You asked the man, only for him to chuckle. "No silly I mean in the air!" Kalim states cheerfully while flexing his wings. He couldn't possibly mean... you turned your attention back to the innocent looking boy. His red eyes gleamed in the moonlight as he offered you a hand "Do you trust me?" Should you take it?
He did mean flying. You had excepted his outstretched hand tentatively. Wasting no time, Kalim picked you up bridal style and jumped off the balcony. You screamed in terror as you both plummeted towards the ground. There was no way he or his wings were strong enough to hold you both. Squeezing your eyes shut you expected to become a stain on the Al-Asim immaculate courtyard.
"You're not going to be able to see anything with your eyes closed." Kalim chuckled. You're not dead? Opening your eyes, you see both Kalim and you soaring through the air. Completely fine. Looking down you see all of the Al-Asim Oasis in its splendor. The glow of the lights in the buildings, the majestic fountains, the night bazaar with its multitude of goods. It all took your breath away. "Cool, isn't it?" Kalim jovially replied staring at your look of awe with glee. "Come on, let me show you the best part."
You stayed with Kalim after that day and the day after that day. Each day filled with excitement and new things to do. You really were starting to think of Kalim as a great friend, a little brother even. Even still with all the fineries and stability this couldn't last. You were incredibly homesick, which only got worse with each day. Sure, you had access to all the food you could ever eat, fine clothes, and servants at your beck and call. However, you longed to return to your family and simple life you had before. Then there was Kalim, sweet Kalim. He was sweet and cheerful, always wanting to know how you were doing. Always with you. Always. In fact, he became touchier and clingier with each day. You didn't mind that so much but were you wrong to want some time to yourself too? Were you wrong to want to talk to someone else sometimes?
These thoughts continued to rack your brain as Kalim ran up to you a threw his arms around you. "Hey (Y/N) what's up?!" You smile at Kalim and ruffle his hair. He eagerly leans into your touch. "Oh nothing, I was just thinking about things." "What kind of things?" "None of your business." Kalim pouted at your answer before lighting up. "Jamil and I were going to go to the bazaar, wanna come?" You immediately nod, you need something to take your mind from spinning any further. Kalim smiles and starts dragging you towards the door.
The bazaar was busy on that exceptionally hot day. Many people rushing around buying things from the multiple vendors. The scent of spices and savory meats filled your nose as you walked through, causing you mouth to water. There were fine rugs, jewelry, and beautiful clothes. That wasn't even half of what was there. Anything you stared at Kalim asked if you wanted it. "No Kalim I'm serious, this must cost a fortune." Kalim placed down a bag of gold coins like it was no big deal. "If you want it, you should have it, anything you want should be yours." Kalim went around buying out the entire bazaar for you which made you a bit uncomfortable. One because he was wasting his family fortune on you and two because Jamil had to carry all the stuff he bought. You needed to distract him with something quick. "Oh Kalim, I think there was a kebob stand a little way back. Let's check it out." Kalim immediately grins and runs off in that direction by himself. "Kalim!" It worked a little too well. Jamil groans and mumbles something under his breath. "I'm so sorry Mx. (L/N) but Kalim can't be unattended, so I have to go." Which led to you being completely alone.
Well, you're back to square one, all alone and this time in an Oasis. You should catch up to the duo ahead of you. That way you aren't completely alone. That way...no that way. Ugh, if only you hadn't stupidly forgotten which way to go. "(Y/N)?" Huh? You turn around to see someone very familiar to you. "Samir!" You immediately jump on the man in front of you. Samir was your childhood friend and even your crush. With beautiful long dark hair and light brown eyes who wouldn't fall in love with him. "We've been looking for you everywhere." Samir replies returning your embrace with as much vigor. "Well, I've been looking for you too! How's mom? How's dad? How's everyone? Where's everyone?" Samir puts his hands up in surrender. "Woah, woah settle down. Why not ask them yourself." Your parents were here? "Take me to them." Samir complied led the way.
Kalim was a wreck. He came back to the spot he left you only to find you had disappeared. No problem, you're probably just looking for more stuff you want. Wait you don't have any money on you! Oh no what if you get hungry? What if you get bored? He's not there to help you. "Jamil, we need to find (Y/N) now!" Jamil sighed as Kalim continued to freak out. "They'll be fine. You on the other hand need to return home, your parents are back today." His parents were back, today?! This was great news he could tell them all about (Y/N) and how great they were. Maybe even convince them to let (Y/N) stay forever. Kalim felt himself becoming giddy at the thought of spending the rest of his days with (Y/N). He liked them ever since he found them, but now it felt different. Anyone who brought up their name brought butterflies to his stomach.
"Kalim are you even listening to me?" Jamil asked the boy, pulling him out of his dreamy state. "Uh yeah, let's go home!" Kalim smiled happily to himself; he couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with you.
You were light as air. Everything was going your way. You were happily reunited with your family with lots of tears and laughter. Your mother and father almost didn't recognize you with the fine clothes and jewelry you were wearing. However, your face hadn't changed much so they embraced you happily. "My dear (Y/N) we missed you so much!" Your mother said tearfully as tears of joy streamed down her face. "I missed you too mom, dad, how's everyone else doing?" Your father grinned and patted you on the back. "They'll be doing better when they hear you've returned." You were eager to reunite with your caravan, but you needed to say goodbye to Kalim first. After all he saved your life and cared for you for all those weeks. "Mom, dad there's someone you ought to meet."
You arrived back at the Al-Asim house with your parents and Samir in tow. Samir wanted to join you to catch up with you and thank the man who saved your life. Each of your companions' jaws dropped when they saw the sheer opulence of the manor. "(Y/N) you didn't tell me they were rich." Samir said agog to the amount of gold and marble of the main building. You preened like a peacock, happy at each reaction. "Wait till you see the inside." As you approached the front door you were stopped by the guards at the front steps. You hadn't seen their likes before. "Halt! What business do you have with the Al-Asim family?" The centipede on the left spoke, his broad frame being slightly intimidating. "I'm a friend of Kalim Al-Asim!" The guards took one look at you with your finery and stepped aside. However, they weren't so lenient with your family and Samir. "Halt! You are not permitted to enter." Each guard holding a nasty looking spear at your family. "Wait they're with me." You pleaded with the guards, but they did not relent.
"No way they are anywhere close to your status my liege. Master Kalim should be out near the fountain." Your family sadly bid you go on your own, feeling doubt with their own worth. Samir on the other had barged past the guards to join you. "Halt intruder!" You grabbed Samir's hand and made a run for it. The guards followed you two as you ran to the garden where you hoped to find Kalim. The guards were hot on your trail being more built for running long distances than you or Samir. However, luck appeared to be on your side as you burst through the doors out to the garden. A familiar mop of white hair appeared near the fountain. "Kalim!" You shouted, causing the butterfly boy to turn around with joy. "(Y/N)!" The boy screamed as he ran to you with his arms outstretched. He grabbed into a tight embrace swinging you about.
"(Y/N) where did you go? I was so worried for you but I'm happy you returned! I'll ask Jamil to prepare a feast for your return." The boy continued to prattle on happily as the guards chasing you both ran over to where you stood. They grabbed Samir by both arms and were prepared to drag him out. "Samir!" Kalim turned around to see who you spoke of and stared quizzically at the new face.
"Hello, I'm Kalim, who are you?" The guard interrupts Samir before he can speak. "Master Kalim this rabble claims to be a friend of Master (Y/N), we're simply kicking him out." Kalim waves his hands signaling for the guards to stop. "Nonsense of friends of (Y/N)'s is a friend of mine." He walks up Samir with a smile on his face. "Would you like to stay for the feast?" Samir nods as the guards let him go. Kalim smiles and ushers you away, not allowing you to talk for another second to your crush.
The feast was awkward as Kalim had you sitting beside him, and Samir was placed on the opposite end of the table. Kalim was trying to feed you himself which led you awkwardly rejecting him multiple times causing him to pout. As the servants came in with the food they halted as two majestic looking older people came in and sat at the head of the table. You guessed they were Kalim's parents and went to bow low like the rest of the servants. The older woman approached you and took your chin in her hand.
"I must say Kalim you do know how to pick your fiancés, they're absolutely exquisite." You flushed at the beautiful older woman's compliment, feeling very small in her gaze. "Fiancé?" You asked the woman almost by instinct. Where did Kalim's mother get that from? "Why yes fiancé. Don't be too shy (Y/N) we've heard all about how well you get along with our son and approve of your union." The older man spoke from the head of the table, servants tripping over themselves to serve him food. "I think you've got it wrong, (Y/N) isn't anyone's fiancé." Samir cut in which caused the older couple to glare at the man. "Who are you?" Kalim's mother asked stiffly as she took a seat in her chair. "I'm Samir, (Y/N)'s friend. We came to thank you for taking care of (Y/N) before leaving." Tension was building between the parents and your friend. This wasn't good.
The shattering of a glass caught your attention as you looked over a Kalim. He looked as if his heart had shattered in his chest. "You're leaving (Y/N)?" Kalim whimpered out like a kicked dog, causing your heart to swell with pity. "Kalim, you didn't think I was going to stay forever. Did you?" Kalim didn't answer as he lowered his head. Quiet sobs began to rack his body. "JAMIL! Take this unwanted guest away at once!" The man at the head of the table shouted fury ever present in his eyes. Jamil appeared out of thin air and grabbed Samir, who kicked and screamed in protest. "Samir!" You yelled; this was getting out of hand. If you knew this was going to happen, you wouldn't have returned.
"It's alright dear, no need to worry about him. He won't try and take you away from us." The older woman cooed as panic filled your eyes. "Us?" The woman smiled and nodded at the man at the head of the table. "We've never seen Kalim this happy before with anyone, this truly isn't something that money can buy." The man stated turning the guards near the table and nodding. The guards grabbed your arms and restrained you. "We'll take you to his room so you can begin preparations for the wedding at once." Wedding? No, they had it all wrong. "Let me go!" You shouted as you were dragged out of the dining room and into a familiar room. You were roughly placed on the bed. You ran after the guards but found yourself locked in Kalim's room. This was madness, Kalim's parents were insane! You pounded on the door till you ran out of energy. Defeated you slumped onto the floor and cried.
You awoke to the sound of the door opening, it was Kalim! Maybe he could be reasoned with. "Kalim, you've got to let me go!" You begged as you clung to his robes. Kalim wasn't looking you in the eyes. "Kalim please! I want to be with my family!" He still refused to look at you. "Kalim?" You softly asked trying to see his face. You wish you hadn't. His eyes held the most lovesick expression you had ever seen. You backed away from the boy slowly, who only followed you till you were against the bed. This wasn't good at all. "Sweetheart are you okay, you look terrified." Kalim cooed as he pressed kisses against any exposed skin he could see. "I am terrified of you Kalim. Your family is sick!" You complained as you tried to bat away his affections. Kalim continued to stay there and embrace you, while guiding you to the bed.
"You're probably just tired let's go to bed now." He cooed as he gently lay you beside him, wrapping his wings around you. You were trapped in the crazy butterfly's embrace and wanted out. The more you tried to resist golden powder floated around the air from his wings. You found yourself becoming drowsy as the pollen entered your system. No you needed to fight it off you needed to...
"Sleep my love, we have a busy day ahead of us..."
I know my parents are wrong but I'm too selfish to let you go.

THE PRICE OF FREEDOM | S.R
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader
word count: 0.8k
warnings: toxic family, parental role reversal, guilt
summary: spencer and the team come over to your new place to celebrate you finally leaving your toxic childhood home
a/n: started off strong , became too real, rushed the ending
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wasn’t much of an achievement for most, moving out of the house you grew up in, doing so in your mid-twenties even less so. But Spencer thought it the biggest achievement, the bravest step you’d ever taken, and you were touched by his excitement. It was a small little apartment, open floor space, everything flowing into one and with your boxes still scattered everywhere there was hardly room for everyone- but Spencer bought a cake. Rossi said he was bringing pasta and you just barely heard Emily promise to bring champagne, so you couldn’t talk anyone out of making a fuss.
It was a confusing set of emotions, you’d been dreaming of leaving for years, since your second year at university, but guilt always stopped you in your tracks. You didn’t want to leave without her, leave her in it, feel responsible for her, like getting a good job and finding a good place should be to save her and not yourself, not just yourself. And you waited, begged, bargained, fought with all your might to have her see things for what they were and leave, you would’ve done anything to make it happen for her- but despite it all, despite years of pain, she wasn’t ready to escape and as much as you wanted to make her ready, you couldn’t. You were, you didn’t have it in you to stay even if you wanted to for her, you had to get out, for you.
“Do you think there’s enough candles?” Spencer was fiddling about in the living room area, though it wasn’t truly ready to be lived in yet, furniture wasn’t in the cards for a while so of course he’d taken to constructing some with all your boxes.
“I think it’s plenty,” you smiled and it felt more sincere than it looked, only barely hiding the embarrassment from not having working lights set up yet. “More and we might set the place on fire before I unpack,” you pulled some paper plates and cups from the grocery bag, hoping no one would mind as much as you did.
You knew they wouldn’t, knew they wouldn’t mind sitting on dented boxes, eating cold pasta, and drinking fancy alcohol out of party cups. If anything it just felt like a testament to your fate, to how rash your decision was, how unprepared you were for whatever was to come. It reminded you that you had no idea how to exist outside of your terror, if you weren’t protecting your mother, what were you doing? Throwing lackluster dinner parties while she was still ever miserable with a horrid man and no escape. It made you feel all the more guilty, and all the more selfish. You couldn’t comprehend the excitement you were expected to be expressing. With all your might you had to convince yourself not to run right back to that blush pink bedroom stained at every inch with dried tears and echoed with screams of bitterness.
You had to convince yourself once again that you were free and you deserved to be as much, you didn’t choose to be born into that madness, you had every right to run away from it. She chose to stay, countless times, no matter how many scary nights or pleating fits of fear, she chose to stay.
“I think we can paint the walls if you’d like, Morgan would help me, though I wouldn’t ask Garcia because she might end up choosing a bright green or yellow,” you met his breathy scoff with a lazy hum, stilled in the middle of counting out the right amount of bamboo forks, staring at the only corner you’d managed to unpack- the photo frames. Spencer followed your gaze, and landed on a large frame with a colourful picture of you and your mom at the theatre, only a few months ago, her smile was only ever that big when you were away from home, from him. You dropped the lightweight utensils with a sigh, everything felt wrong, you felt wrong. “Sweetheart, are you okay?” he knew the answer but didn’t know how to approach the situation without asking anyway. You hummed, bit back a fake smile that would only turn to a frown even if you tried to stop it, and folded your arms around yourself to ground you.
How a space so small, so full, could feel so void, lonely, you weren't sure. Your mom had been dying for years, not physically, but he’d been hacking away at her soul since you could remember- left a shell of her, a ghost, you’d mourn her daily, he made sure of it. Now the mourning was different, the grief, leaving your best friend, your shadow felt like you’d buried her alive and left her screaming. Horrendous thing, the juxtaposition of it all, you couldn’t spend another second in that house, can’t imagine taking another breath without her at your side. You hoped she’d follow, it’s why you borrowed the queen size mattress and not the single from Hotch, space for her, somewhere to escape to when she was ready, but who’d protect her while she wasn’t?
“I was thinking,” careful hands slid over your elbows, loving smile met your gaze. “With your power still out, I don’t feel comfortable leaving you alone in the dark. Maybe I can stay over?” Spencer was never so forward, if he were he’d present you with ample facts to support his case first, not such a simple little tale of charm.
“Please,” you’d not usually accept so easily, but you were being profiled, you’d learn to know when you were and though not always intentional, Spencer tended not to notice how unsubtle he was with it. You smiled, traded your own embrace for his, looked up at him with your chin planted on his chest. “How am I reading, Dr. Reid?”
“Not well,” he tutted, brows dipped with sympathy, eyes sparkling with genuine care as foreign as it comes. “Which is valid, every horrible and amazing feeling that you’re experiencing is completely valid.”
“I’m scared she’ll never forgive me.”
“There’s nothing to be forgiven for, you are not her keeper, she knows that, you love her but that’s still the truth,” he kissed your forehead, squeezed you a little tighter than before. “You know all of this, but I won’t stop reminding you.”
“Can we visit her?”
“As many times as you need to.”
You stood like that for too long before the room echoed with far too eager knocks, dinner was cold but delicious as only Rossi can achieve and when the cake came you were sat on the floor next to Spencer, smiling as Derek bargained for the biggest piece. Spencer’s hand was entangled with yours in his lap, head on his shoulder and for just a second you felt light, weightless- new.
“Are you still okay, sweetheart?” he whispered with a soft smile, hopeful and you nodded, instantly took the plate when JJ handed you the biggest piece of cake.
“I think so, Spence, I think it’s all going to be okay.”
Maybe it was delusion, maybe tomorrow you’d wake up drowning in dread and pack your few unpacked boxes to go back, maybe you’d stay and spend every second hating yourself for giving up on her, not saving her, maybe she’d finally leave and start over. Maybe you’d stay stuck in time, lingering between the first time he did it and the last, forever the little girl who grew up too soon because someone had to take responsibility for saving her. Maybe you had no purpose beyond that, maybe that’s what you were made for, to fix her and comfort her and stand up for her. Maybe you were the biggest of failures for thinking you could have more from life than that horror, that love ridden burden. Maybe peace only comes after and not during life, born into chaos, into hatred out of young love, maybe the idea of your freedom was as fleeting as his affinity for family. How can someone raised in darkness ever dare to look for light, let alone try and live in it? Maybe you were only ever meant to be nothing more and nothing less than a lesson about how broken people make broken children. Shackled by the knowledge that you never should’ve been, she’d left him sooner if you weren’t.
Imagine that, your whole life devoted to making up for being born, for making it impossible to leave until it was far too late. Hope and freedom, like love, is nothing but a golden cage.

𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏𝐒

pairing: jason todd x fem! reader
summary: sometimes you couldn't help yourself from hating everything, sometimes you couldn't help bumping into people, sometimes certain stains were hard to remove
word count: 1,2k

Tumblr media
You hated this. The loud music. The crowded rooms. The sweaty bodies hitting against each other, devouring each other with no sense of modesty, dancing to the sound of whatever horrid electronic beat sounded from the many music boxes, scattered around the unnecessarily large house.
You hated the guys, eyeing you up and down like a meal to a starved man, undressing you in their minds and having thoughts you prayed you’d never get to hear. You hated the girls judging you with their unkind eyes. And most of all, tonight you hated your neighbor more than anyone in this entire world.
“C’mon, Yn.” She tugged at the sleeve of your jacket, trying to pull you to the dance floor along with her. “Let’s have some fun!”
“I’m fine, Nessie,” you uttered through gritted teeth. “Just do you.”
Your neighbor and, pending revision, friend rolled her eyes at you, dropping her shoulder before pulling you with her towards a corner. “You can’t let that call stop you from having fun,” she stated, boring her chocolate browns into you e/c ones.
After sighing deeply, you replied. “I’ll be fine.”
You didn’t think so, but you weren’t going to ruin your only friend’s night, even if you so wished to. She had been patient with you all the time since that damned phone call, even though if you were in her place, you’d have certainly snapped at your own stubbornness.
After much insisting, she gave up and let go of your hand to move into the crowd, going to dance or make out with anyone she could find close by. You stood still in the same corner, mopping under the blinking blue, red and purple lights, arms crossed on your chest and pushing away every guy that attempted to approach you with a single hostile glare.
One hour, then two hours had passed, your patience vanishing along with the late hours of the night. You couldn’t stand it anymore, too stressed, too pissed off, to be anywhere but home.
“Nessie!” you screamed after your friend, finding her dancing in the middle of two other people. She clearly didn’t hear you, and you had to take a deep breath before fighting your way through the warzone that was the dance floor.
Pushed from both sides, you had to literally dig your way between the waves of people throwing their sweaty bodies around, receiving one and another elbows to the face and giving some back in return.
Almost approaching your friend’s spot, she noticed you making your way towards her and proceeded to walk to you, a smile spreading on her lips.
“Yn, you came!” she joyfully declared, throwing her arms in the air in celebration, instigating her new companions to join her excitement.
“I wanna go home,” you voiced out and her face instantly fell.
“No!” was her reply. “I’m having fun,” she stood firm.
Widening your eyes and puffing your cheeks with air, you wanted to turn into a five year old just to be able to throw a tantrum and dissipate all the anger you had in yourself without looking crazy. However, you were 22, a college graduate, and thankfully too mature to do so.
“Fine!” you let out instead. “I’m going alone.”
“Go sulk into your boring ass hell hole,” Nessie insulted, clearly intoxicated, and you flipped your middle finger at her before pushing your way through the crowd once more.
Your steps were heavy, weighed down and filled to the brim with your own rage. You pushed people aside, who looked back at you in displeasure, but you were not in the mood to fake an apology to any of them. Or anyone at all. You weren’t going to see them ever again anyways.
When turning a corner, about to step into the foyer as you approach the front door, a great wall bumped into you, sending you a few steps backwards, and the group around you let out shocked gasps. His drink poured over your chest, leaving you soaked in cheap alcohol and stained in red.
“FUCK!” you screamed out, rubbing furiously at your shirt with your jacket’s sleeve, tears slowly forming on your eyes. Your anger, if possible, grew by the minute, and you both wanted to punch the idiot that had done this to you and curl down in a corner and cry.
“Hey, I’m sorry,” said the male voice, apologizing with a little bit too much excitement. Drunk, awesome. “I did not see you there.”
He was kneeling down, picking up his cup and the ice cubes that had fallen to the floor. Gross.
“Obviously,” you whispered, hoping to flee this place as quickly as possible, but the tall man crouched down stopped you from taking any step further.
“Someone is angry,” he joked while standing up, mere inches in front of you. “Would you want to go somewhere where I could calm you down a little?”
He jiggled his thick eyebrows at you, other intentions evident in his offer. Finally getting the chance to stare properly at the clumsy douche that turned your white t-shirt red, you found his bright blue eyes that annoyed you just as much as his eyebrow move did.
“Why the hell would I ever want to go anywhere with someone like you?” Eyeing him up and down, you caught a glimpse at the tattoos decorating his arms, hands and neck. He smelled and looked like trouble, the kind of guy your p… You were always warned about.
“Ooh,” he blew. “Little Miss Stuck Up is angry angry.”
“Fuck off,” you swore, trying to push him away from you, but he didn’t even flinch.
“What? Don’t think we’d make cute babies?” he teased out of nowhere, stepping aside to let you pass.
“Why would I ever want to have a baby with you?” you asked over your shoulder, narrowing your eyes at him.
“Why would I ever want to have my dick inside you in the first place?” he asked back, forgetting his early offer, before you both rolled your eyes and walked in different directions.
You tried to dry the stain on your shirt as you walked away, continuously rubbing your chest as you left the house and on your entire Uber ride. You tried to wash it off when you got home, but the red stain wouldn’t disappear, not in the first, second or third tries of your washing machine, and neither the ones of  your desperate hands.
The stranger, whoever he was, made sure he’d leave his mark on you and that pissed you off even more, not because it was your favorite white t-shirt, not because it was new and expensive. But because it wasn’t just the stain he had left you with, as his bright blue eyes stuck to your head the entire weekend, as you sulked on your boring hell hole of an apartment.
As the weekend came to an end and the early morning sun announced the arrival of Monday, you stepped inside your regular gym. Freshly showered, headphones stuck to your ears, as you wished to relieve all your accumulated rage on every machine you could touch.
The gym was your haven, your place to find peace on stressful days and distract yourself from the world around you. You were ready to leave the place feeling refreshed and powered up for a new week of hard work and hustle.
You were gonna be fine, it was all gonna be perfect. If it wasn’t for you crashing into a large back, a water bottle splashing liquid on your face, and the same pair of blue eyes turning around and meeting yours again.
“Fuck!” you two said in unison.
This was going to be one hard stain to get rid of.

love languages ~ pablo gavi
summary: the 5 different love languages with gavi.
Tumblr media
words of affirmation
“fue tan mierda, y/n. ¿cómo nos las arreglamos para perder tan mal?” pablo exclaimed, shaking his head in disappointment and slouching further into the couch. (it was so shit y/n. how did we manage to lose that badly?)
y/n sighed to herself. her hand came up to grasp his bicep that started to tense as he tightly folded his arms over his chest. she understood how disappointed and frustrated he might feel, knowing the horrid loss he and his team just faced in a home game, more than an hour ago.
y/n’s heart clenched the more she watched his hurt expression. his eyes were glued to the tv where he was watching one of their older matches, but she knew his mind was on the one he just played.
“pablo..” she said softly, not wanting to anger him any further. “i understand the game didn’t go the way you wanted it to, but please don’t get so worked up over it.” she tried to reason as her thumb started rubbing smooth circles on his arm.
he didn’t say anything, didn’t even look at her. however, he didn’t move his arm from her touch, so she took that as an opportunity to carry on.
“look at me.” he didn’t turn, only huffed to himself, eyes wavering over the screen.
y/n lowly sighed and moved her hand to cup his cheek. she gently turned his head and when his brown, doe eyes met hers, she instantly gave him a little smile. pablo could feel his heart warming at her delicate touch, wanting nothing more than to cuddle up to her and kiss her warm skin but he was too stubborn and frustrated to do any of that right now.
“you can’t win everytime, mi amor. i love the passion you hold for your club and i understand you want to win every game, but not everything can go your way. hardships will always come along the way and that’s just how it is. we have to deal with it and work on how to make the next one better rather than sulk about the present.” she watched as his eyes started to soften and she knew he was on board with what she was saying.
y/n pressed a tiny kiss to his nose and cheek before pushing her body into his for a hug. pablo let her, his own heart giving into her endless affection and support.
“you’re the strongest, most hard working person i know, querido. don’t let a little problem along the way pull you down. you have to take it as a lesson and focus on how to improve.” she pressed a kiss to his warm cheek.
pablo could feel his own mind slowly coming at ease. her words filled his head and the motivation that sprung in his chest only inflated his love for her more. he loved how encouraging she always was to him, always looking out for him, always pushing him forward, always wanting him to do better instead of simply sympathising with him.
“thank you..” he mumbled into her neck, loving the whispered sweet nothings she was breathing out onto his cheek.
“no need to thank me, cariño, you know i’ll always understand you. it’s my job as your girlfriend to push you to do better and support you along the way.”
he hummed lovingly and kissed her neck. “and you’re doing a great job at it. te quiero mucho.”
acts of service
y/n underestimated how hectic her first year at university would be. having her classes all over the place and not in one set period really didn’t help, and it meant that she was out and about for majority of the day, knowing there’s no point coming home just for an hour before having to travel back to uni everyday.
it was about 6pm when y/n got home today. her legs and feet ached from all the travelling, her shoulder burned with the weight of her bag and all she wanted was to take a nice bath and drown in the love and warmth that was her boyfriend.
pablo had gotten back a few hours earlier, already having eaten and showered, he was lounging on the couch with his phone. when he heard the front door open, he instantly knew who was back and a smile landed on his lips.
pablo sprung up, wanting to greet his girlfriend after not seeing her for quite a few hours. when his eyes landed on her, a frown immediately settled on his lips. she looked so tired and worn out and he watched as her hands struggled to move her hair out of her face in frustration, shrugging her jacket off too.
“hola, pablo.” she greeted him with a tired smile and after hanging her jacket up, she padded forward a few steps to give him a kiss on the lips. pablos hand cupped her cheek softly, pecking her lips a few times before leaning back and looking her exhausted expression over.
“hola, how was your day?” he mumbled to her sweetly, kissing her lips once again.
“mmh, tiring. i just want to sleep.” her eyes were already practically dropping shut.
pablo frowned, thumb stroking her cold cheek. he dragged his hand down her side and captured hers between his fingers. “come, i’ll run you a bath.” he tugged her forward gently, and y/n sauntered behind him, letting his hand keep her up and guide her towards the bathroom.
she sat on the toilet, watching patiently as pablo filled the tub with warm water and even placed some of her favourite bath salts into it. once he was done, he made his way over to his girlfriend slouching back, stretching the muscles in her neck and he gently grabbed her by the shoulders to sit her up.
his fingers grabbed the hem of her shirt and tugged it all the way up. he lifted her arms, dragging the material up and over her head. after dropping the shirt on the floor, pablos fingers made their way to her back to unclasp her bra, and soon all of her clothes had joined the pile on the floor.
his skin was hot against her cold one as he held her up, helping her into the tub of hot water. the heavy sigh that left her lips relieved some of pablos worry. he couldn’t bare to see her so tired and stressed, instantly wanting to do anything he could to relieve her of this tension.
her muscles started to loosen up, slowly starting to drain her of any pressure. y/n gave pablo a small smile, letting her hand wander to his cheek to stroke his skin. she gave him a kiss, mumbling a ‘thank you’ into his skin.
pablo smiled, hands coming up to her shoulders to soothe some of the ache. it was silent in the bathroom, and y/n let pablo tend to her body, loving the little kisses he pressed here and there, loving the way his hands worked wonders on her back all the way up to her scalp.
he started washing her hair and she couldn’t feel anymore grateful than she did in that moment. he gently rinsed the conditioner out, he ever so carefully wrapped her hair and body in a towel, laying kisses to her after every second of movement. he whispered little words against her skin, mumbled how much he loves her into her ear whilst drying her body.
he dressed her, kissed her, combed her hair, kissed her, lead her to bed, kissed her, cuddled her body into his and laid one final kiss onto her forehead before she was dozing off in his arms, heart content and ever so thankful for everything her boyfriend does for her.
quality time
it was around 3am when pablo was abruptly woken up from y/n’s incessant tossing and turning. frustrated yet worried, he gently shook her awake and watched as she groggily opened her eyes. it was still quite dark in the room but he could just about make out her face and he noticed her confused expression.
“estás bien, amor? te sientes incómodo?” (are you okay, love? are you uncomfortable?) his voice was extremely raspy.
y/n rubbed her eyes and looked up at him with a sigh. “estoy bien. siento haberte despertado.” (im okay, sorry i woke you up.) she groaned as she dropped her head back onto her pillow and uncomfortably rubbed her forehead.
pablo noticed the action and, out of consciousness, instantly laid his hand against her forehead to feel for any sort of temperature. his eyes slightly widened when he felt that she was burning up.
“you’re really hot, querida.” he stated, worried.
“sí, gracias.” she weakly chuckled and pablo shook his head, dragging his hand down to feel her warm cheek.
“you might be sick.”
she shook her head at his statement but he didn’t reply. pablo took the covers off of his body, determined to find something that would make her feel better, and was about to get up before y/n grabbed onto his hand and tugged him back.
“adónde vas?” she whined. (where are you going?)
“going to get you some water and medicine.”
“no! no, i’m fine, pablo, please. just lay with me.”
“your forehead is burning up, amor.”
“no, i don’t feel sick. i’m just really warm. don’t go.” she pleaded, tugging his hand towards her. the boy sighed and agreed, not being able to say no to her pretty, pleading eyes, getting back in bed and pulling the covers up.
he tugged her close towards his cool body. his arm circled her, bringing her close, lips kissing the crown of her head as they both slowly fell back into a sleepy abyss.
it turned out y/n actually was sick, and pablo, despite feeling worried about her, just had to mention that he told her so, to which y/n just chuckled and shook her head.
she had woken up this morning, sweaty and uncomfortable from a bad night of tossing and turning. it was then she wished she actually had taken the medication that pablo was offering late last night but, stubborn as she was, refused because she didn’t want him to leave the comfort of their bed.
currently, the two sat in their living room, with some show playing on the tv that y/n could barely focus on. her head was throbbing and she felt like she could throw her guts up any minute; it’d been like that ever since she woke up.
pablo had his arm resting on the back of the couch, hand softly stroking her shoulder as she cuddled up into his neck. the warm tea that pablo made for her sat abandoned on the table after a few sips. she didn’t feel like having it.
after having barely any breakfast and medicine, the fatigue that crawled up her spine was chilling. she felt like absolute shit. a low groan left her lips when she felt another sharp pain in the side of her head.
“you okay, amor?” pablo mumbled, looking down at her. y/n gave him a little nod and rubbed her temples in agony.
pablo, sensing her frustration, lifted his hand to her hair and started massaging her scalp. when she sighed out in relaxation, he gave a little smile of success and carried on after leaving a kiss on her forehead.
“that feels so good..”
“you would’ve been feeling better by now if you’d just let me take care of you.” he spoke against her skin and y/n felt the goosebumps arising on her arms.
“i didn’t want you to get sick.”
“so you banished me to training?”
she laughed and pablo smiled, “i didn’t banish you! you had to go training anyway, amor.”
“sí, but i’d rather be home, taking care of my sick girlfriend.” she hummed in satisfaction and lifted up weakly to leave a peck on his cheek.
“and i’m so grateful that you are here now.” she mumbled, loving the idea of just spending some much needed time with him, even if she was sick to do anything.
gift giving
long distance was harder than some people said it would be. with pablo being in barcelona and y/n living in her hometown, it was extremely hard to run a relationship with how different the time zones were, their different day to day activities and only running the relationship on facetime calls and messages everyday.
however, today was pablos birthday and his sister, aurora, had texted y/n spontaneously a few days before. she mentioned how much they all missed y/n, especially pablo, and it would make him the happiest person on the planet if she was there for his birthday.
y/n agreed, after some alterations to the next full week of her scedhule. aurora and her family flew y/n out to barcelona for the week and they all couldn’t be anymore excited for her to be coming, aurora specifically, who thought of y/n as a younger sister.
that was all about a few days ago, and now y/n stood behind the door to the living room where pablo, his family and friends were huddled together. aurora thought that y/n should be the one to bring the cake out, also counting it as pablos big surprise, and she couldn’t wait to film the whole interaction.
the door slightly opened to reveal one of pablos friends, alejandro, peeking his head in.
“¿lista, hermana?” (ready?)
y/n gave a little nod, her right hand quickly lighting the two candles on the cake. she placed the lighter back down and allowed alejandro to open the door a little wider for her to walk through.
her heart was practically beating in her ears and she tried not to drop the tray with how much her hands were starting to sweat. his family and friends started singing happy birthday but all y/n could focus on was pablo.
he sat on the chair at the table, looking more handsome than she last saw him, clad in a black t shirt, which she noticed she hadn’t seen him wear before. when his eyes landed on her, they widened and his jaw slightly dropped.
y/n gave him the biggest smile ever, eyes never leaving his as she walked over to him with the cake, the sound of clapping and happy birthday’s being heard all around her but all she saw and heard and yearned for in this moment was him.
she finally crossed the short distance to her boyfriend and placed the cake down infront of him. as soon as it was out of her hands, pablo was up and hugging her. his arms tugged her towards him and he was hugging and swaying and sighing into her shoulder.
y/n tightened her arms around his neck and took in the feel of him against her, the smell of his familiar perfume, the softness of his hair in her hands, the strength of his arms around her waist.
she slightly pulled back to press a few kisses to his cheek, not wanting to kiss him freely infront of all his friends and family out of respect. her eyes connected with his once more and she noticed the little tears in his eyes.
“dios mío, ¿esto es real?” (oh god, is this real?) he choked out with a chuckle and y/n started laughing along with his family. she reached up to quickly wipe his eyes before nodding.
“sí es real, cariño.” (yes it’s real, sweetheart.) pablo chuckled and swallowed past the lump in his throat.
“blow out your candles, hermanito.” aurora called out, joining the chuckes that were being thrown around. y/n noticed she was still holding her phone up and she snickered at how she was capturing every single second of this. she made a mental note to ask for the video later on.
pablo sat back down but his hand never left y/n’s. she stood next to him, watching him blow out the candles. she would’ve joined in on the clapping like the rest of the family but her hand was trapped in his grip.
it’d been so long since he’d seen her up close, held her, took in her scent, felt her warm skin against his own and he refused to let her go in any way.
after taking lots of pictures and eating some of the cake, pablo sat with his arm around y/n on the couch. his friends left, after promising they would all go out for dinner later on, and his family were somewhere around the house.
pablo was still practically in a state of shock as he stared at his girl sat in his arms.
“i still cant believe this.” he voiced, brown eyes taking in every inch of every single feature on her face, wanting to memorise her as if she would slip away from his fingers again.
“you have aurora to thank, querido. she helped me come here.” she said sweetly, but her voice died in her throat the moment his lips attached to her jaw.
he hummed and made his way down, pecking against her smooth skin. “vale, remind me to thank her later.”
“pablo, tu familia sigue aquí. ten paciencia.” (your family is still here. be patient.) she reasoned and pablo detached his lips from hers and sighed deeply, wanting nothing more than just an hour, atleast, alone with her.
he decided to lay his head on her shoulder instead and y/n smiled. her hand came up to stroke his cheek lovingly, lips kissing the crown of his head.
“¿cuánto tiempo vas a estar aquí?” (how long are you here for?)
“una semana.” (a week.)
“¿eso es todo?” (that’s it?!) he exclaimed, looking up at her.
“that’s all i can stay for, bebé. but i promise to try and stay longer next time.” pablo sighed and returned his head to her shoulder, loving the way her fingers felt in his hair.
“we’ll make this the best week ever then.” he stated, already getting excited to spend every second of this week with the beautiful girl next to him.
physical touch
pablo walked into his girlfriends apartment after a long day of training, interviews and shooting for the new kit. his muscles ached strongly, his social battery had practically drained to the last percent and all he wanted was to be in his girlfriends warm and familiar arms.
he took his spare key out and unlocked the door, immediately being met with silence in the small corridor. pablo could already feel himself starting to relax. just the feel of even being in her apartment, her space, relaxed him and he was excited to finally see her gorgeous face after a whole day of busy activities.
he took his jacket off along with his shoes, placed his keys on one of her key holders and made his way to find his girl. he could hear the tv faintly playing in the back so he walked over to the living room.
he saw her sitting on the couch, watching a movie, looking so comfortable and warm wrapped up in a blanket and one of pablos hoodies. when she heard footsteps walk into the room, she flinched as she looked worriedly at the entrance.
“dios mío, pablo, you scared me.” she chuckled out a breath when her eyes laid on her tired looking boyfriend. he gave her a little weak smile, padding his way over to her.
he dropped down on the couch, lifting the blanket and getting under it with her. y/n welcomed him with open arms, allowing him to lay his head on her chest.
he pushed her back a bit, arms circling her waist as he cuddled up to her. the warmth engulfed him and pablo instantly felt at ease. he could physically feel his tense muscles relaxing, hearbeat slowing down to match y/n’s.
“cómo estás?” (how are you?) she whispered.
“cansado.” (tired)
“busy day?”
he nodded against her chest, arms tightening around her frame and lips coming together in a frown as he could feel himself gradually slipping into sleep.
she had a smile on her face, loving the sudden clinginess that randomly spurted from him, loving the way he always wanted to cuddle up to her after a long, hefty day.
pablo let her plant her hand in his hair. his eyes started drooping immediately in satisfaction when her fingers started to run through his freshly washed strands, soothing the tiny headache he had.
in no time, he was asleep in her arms, encased by her warmth and her love and her sweet scent.

Fuck You Maureen (to the tune of 'come on Eileen') E.M
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x OC | Eddie Munson x Karmen Jones
Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Too-Ra-Loo-Rye-Aye
Summary: Eddie left out a crucial detail when he finally told his closest loved ones about his ordeal with The Upside Down. A news headline sparks his memory and he's excited confess to a fun crime he actually did commit.
Tags: Pregnancy brain, S4 spoilers, Fulff, Joking, Banter, Comedy (I hope) Eddie's titty tatts.
Words: 2k
Notes: This fic sits somewhere between Anticipation and Evie :)
I took "Bird Club" from this post by @morganbritton132 because I haven't stopped chuckling about it since I saw it a week ago. Wayne would join Bird Club. So would Steve regardless of the AU one thing is certain, Steve is in Bird Club.
~~
Eddie didn’t mind house-sitting for Wayne. Especially since his Uncle had finally decided that he deserved a holiday. Gathering some of his buddies from Bird Club and going on a weekend long fishing trip.
Being in the trailer again after officially moving out was nostalgic in a way. He kind of missed the cozy walls adorned with homey adages. If he ignored the badly cleaned blood stain on the carpet between himself and the TV and the discoloration on the ceiling above where a hole to another dimension had been permanently closed for about six months now.
The news anchor that had interrupted his favorite game show to read off the headlines with a bored drawl. Dead eyes barely blinked and rivaled the tired stare Eddie was giving the man back through the screen as he waited for the bulletins to be over.
“...and Grand Theft Auto appears to be on the rise with residents in Indianapolis protesting the lack of concern from local law enforcement after a string of–”
Eddie gasped suddenly, sitting up straight and startling Karmen as she fell from his arms. Falling against the back of the couch as she looked up at him in surprise.
“I forgot to tell you!” He exclaimed, bouncing in his seat like an excited child. “I stole Maureen’s RV.” He said quickly, slapping his hand over his mouth as soon as it came out as if that would make the admission less heinous or he could take it back.
Karmen stared at him for a long second. Pregnancy brain clouding her thoughts as she desperately tried to remember who Maureen was despite knowing the horrid woman quite well and knowing Eddie’s untoward history with her even more intimately.
“What?” She asked dumbly, shaking her head to try and get her thoughts in place as Eddie huffed in exasperation at his excited admission not being received the way he’d expected.
“Maureen!” He pressed, pointing over his shoulder towards the wall behind them. “From over there!” He explained as if she could see through the trailer wall and would magically know what he was talking about.
Maureen and her husband Eustace lived a couple of trailers over. They were atrocious neighbors that had been more than open about their disdain for his lifestyle over the years he’d lived with Wayne.
Karmen gasped in realization as she followed his finger towards a plethora of caps and mugs. The wall not fully obscuring her vision of the outside world as she imagined beyond it and her thoughts clicked into place.
She slapped her own hand over her mouth, matching him.
“Eddie!” She exclaimed scandalously. “Are you serious right now?” She asked, her other hand slapping against his forearm as he nodded excitedly in response.
Karmen’s eyes were wide as she let her hand fall away from her mouth and she gritted her teeth together in a pained frown.
“I swore on my life that you weren’t involved in that!” She shouted incredulously. Eddie leaned forward in shock.
“Why would you do that?!” He shouted back, alarmed.
“Why would YOU do that?” She asked, just as stunned.
“We needed a car!” He defended.
“So you took a home?” She hollered, making him snort.
“It needed to fit a lot of people…” He defended weakly, shrugging his shoulders as Karmen brought both her hands up to cover her mouth.
“Oh my God.” She murmured into them. “They said they saw you and I told them there was no way.” She groaned. “ Now I’m going to die!” She yelled mirthfully.
“No!” Eddie exclaimed, his hands on her thighs. “Maureen will win!” He shouted. Karmen’s mouth fell open in disbelief at the statement. Eddie catching himself and amending his exclamation.  “I mean…” He paused.”No! I’ll miss you!” He said clumsily, making her laugh.
“You’re a dick.” She chuckled, pushing his hands off her thighs playfully and watching as Eddie crossed his arms over his chest.
“That’s Maureen talking.” He hissed. “Evil.”
“She’s someone’s Grandma.” Karmen argued, making him balk.
“So is Sally.” He contested.
The meanest Nurse he had encountered in the hospital during his recovery was the first person he’d met in over ten years that had skyrocketed to the top of his mortal enemies list.
She had kicked Maureen out of top spot. Put her in second and her husband Eustace in third.
Eddie knew those assholes from a few trailers down would have been the first to jump on the ‘Eddie was a murderer’ bandwagon. Not because they actually believed it but because they would do just about anything to get rid of him and his guitar. Including but not limited to sending their grandkids to throw stink-bombs through his bedroom window and reporting him to the cops for growing illicit substances that turned out to just be Wayne’s tomato plants that he’d sat on the kitchen window sill to get some sun while protecting them from the summer storms.
Phil Callahan that buffoon had ripped them from their pot to make a point before Hopper had pointed out the large red fruits hanging from the ruined plant he was holding.
Eddie had made a big deal about it. The imbecile officer had apologized profusely. Being shooed out the door by the Chief and waiting in the car as Hopper compensated Eddie for his troubles by tipping him extra on the ounce of actual weed he bought on his way out the door.
Eddie had used the money to replace Wayne’s plants. Granted with the wrong kind of tomato so he noticed immediately but it was the thought that counted.
He’d had just enough money left over to buy Maureen and Eustice a ‘sorry for worrying you’ gift.
A bag of peanuts that he had left for them, open, on their couch with a trail leading from their back window to the trash cans where his favorite raccoon liked to hang out.
It hadn’t taken long for Jerry to take the bait and Eddie had watched with a smug smile as the furry little critter used the boxes he’d stacked there as leverage to jump through the window.
He’d closed the window after Jerry and taken the boxes back to the trash. Giving the assholes a little wave as he walked back home and waited by the living room window for the chaos to begin.
It had taken them a long time to get Jerry out of their trailer. Eddie had worried at one point that he might need to step in for the raccoons protection but when Eustace had realized that the hissing, spitting, fluff ball with claws was standing between him and his shotgun, he’d grabbed a snack and sat back down.
Somehow they’d known that Eddie was responsible. But plausible deniability meant that he had no reason to confess. Because how the hell would he ever convince a racoon to do his dirty work Wayne? The accusation was insane. They were just out to get him.
Despite that fact, a tit for tat had begun and Eddie spent the next several years essentially locked in a prank war with this couple that could have been his Grandparents.
Until March when Eddie had pretty decidedly won by hot-wiring their motorhome and letting Harrington drive it the hell out of Forest Hills.
Hopefully forever.
“You know they’re coming back right?” Karmen asked at the smug smile on Eddie’s lips. “They never left, actually. They’re staying up that way with Teresa.” She explained, pointing towards Eddie’s bedroom and making him huff.
“What?” He asked dejectedly. “No!” He groaned. “How come I haven’t seen them?
“I don’t know.” Karmen said. “Maybe you won.” She shrugged.
“What do you mean?” He asked, confused.
“Maybe they’re too scared of you to engage in any more pettiness.” She theorized. “I mean she waved to me yesterday as I was coming inside. That’s not exactly usual.”
“Mmm.” Eddie hummed in reply, frowning at nothing as he imagined the way Maureen probably lost her shit after she saw Karmen’s bump.
Another Munson! Another one! There’s too many already!
Eddie smiled to himself at the thought. Recalling the look on her and Eustace’s face as they had banged on the locked door of the RV while he was hot-wiring it. Demanding that he open the door and having him laugh in their face.
“God I hope so.” He said wistfully, referring to the fact that they might be scared of him. “Only people I’d gladly play a monster for.”
Karmen hummed as he had, thinking back on what he’d said earlier that had started the whole conversation.
“So wait.” She interjected, holding up a hand. “You… Drove a motorhome?” She asked. “Without killing everyone inside?” She added before Eddie could respond.
“Oh no. Harrington did that, I just started the sucker.” He offered quickly as Karmen balked at his response. She had been sharing an office with Steve for a few months now. He seemed like a bit of a car guy but he didn’t exactly fit the part of large vehicle driver.
“Steve drove a motorhome?” She asked, even more disbelieving than when she’d thought it had been Eddie.
“He’s a big boy.” Eddie said. Remembering the stunned look on the other man’s face when he had called him that particular term of endearment and smirking to himself. “He handled it.”
“Well?” She asked simply.
“We didn’t die.” Eddie shrugged as Karmen tilted her head in consession.
“So Maureen actually saw your face?” She asked rhetorically. “She told the cops you stole her home and no one really believed her since you were missing at the time but how the hell did you get away with that?”
“I’m assuming it has something to do with the whole ‘Hawkins PD being really sorry they fucked me in the ass’ thing.” He said, putting bunny ears around the words ‘really sorry’. As if the Hawkins Police Department was ever sorry for anything and wasn’t just trying to cover their own butt.
Even in the case of the ruined tomatoes.
“She was very vocal about it.” Kam chortled. “I’m surprised they didn’t slap you on the wrists as a bogus punishment to make her shut up.” She said, dragging out the last words as Eddie blew out an exhale through pursed lips.
“Oh I was punished, don’t worry.”He scoffed. “Had to listen to Harrington waffle on about his breeding kink fantasies like him and Nance’ were the only ones in the damn car.”
“Sorry. His what what? Like what?” Karmen queeried quickly, giving him a scandalous look.
“Yeah he wants like six kids and to live on a farm or some crap.” He answered with a grimace. “The actual kids and I were just like, sitting there silently the whole time pretending like we couldn’t hear and Robin was making strong eye-contact with me which I took to mean ‘shut the fuck up’. So I did despite the overwhelming urge to ask thousands of questions.” He nodded proudly.
Karmen screwed her face up at the thought of not just the children listening to Steve waffle about his dream life to the woman he was obviously still in love with but the thought of six kids in general.
One was enough for now and she wasn’t even born yet.
“Steve seems like a six kids and a farm type of guy.” She said after a moment.
“You think?” Eddie winced. He’d never put any thought really into what Steve Harrington might want out of life before he had to hear that garbage towards the end of the worst week of his life.
“Yeah. The way he gets weirdly pouty when I talk about the baby.” She laughed,  placing her hand on her stomach. “Not surprised.” She added.
“I don’t like that.” Eddie said simply, pursing his lips as they fell into a comfortable silence. “Anyway, fuck Maureen.” He said after a moment, making Karmen laugh as he pulled her back into his arms. “The titty tatts continue I guess.”
“What?” Karmen asked again, pretty sure this time that her pregnancy brain wasn’t to blame for her not understanding the statement.
“Doesn’t matter.”

A honeyed voice rouses you awake. You open your eyes to see a stage above you. You jump to your feet in surprise—but you don't remember ever sitting down. Just moments ago, you'd gone to bed, you were sure of it. So where were you now?
As your eyes scan the dimly lit room, you take in the vast emptiness, broken only by two chairs, sitting side by side. Strangely, you don't feel alone.
"Hello?" you call out. The sound of your voice doesn't even echo. Glowing lights flicker to life behind you and you turn around to face the stage, rooted in place.
Cold as ice, you suddenly feel rough fingers wrap over your shoulders, leading you to sit back down in your seat and face forward. Whoever—or whatever—sits next to you, whispers in the hauntingly sweet voice that woke you, "Watch closely." One cold hand falls from your shoulder, lacing through your fingers as the show begins.
The curtain slowly opens into an oddly joyful scene. A summer evening in Corland Bay, full of life and laughter as people mill about painted cardboard shops and restaurants along a makeshift pier. It's all cast in a warm glow that mimics a setting sun. You can even hear ocean waves, though they're tinged with the buzz of an audio device. An actor walks toward the center stage with a smile. Brown hair and golden eyes speak of someone familiar to you, but try as you might, you can't put a name to them.
"Hey, [ANGEL]," they say with a cheerful laugh, seeming to address someone just out of view. That didn't sound quite right; the movement of their lips didn't match the static laced words you heard. "Me and [TRASH] haven't seen you in a few days. You must be real busy with that new boyfriend. We actually planned karaoke at a bar for tomorrow night, wanna come?"
All of a sudden, you're on stage with them, a spotlight flickering to life and bathing you in a pale, blinding light. The actor stares at you, and the people behind them seem to stop and stare as well. The entire stage grinds to a halt, even the crackling audio of waves dying down. Everyone's waiting for you to say something. You aren't sure what's happening. It’s not as if you were given a script. Maybe you only need to agree? "Yes, that sounds—"
"Booooo," you hear from that honey sweet voice, a chorus of jeers joining in. You look out into the empty audience, surprised to see yourself. At least it felt like yourself, except nothing about the vaguely human shape seemed real. The person to the left of what's supposed to be you is a shadowy blur that only hurts the more you look at it, except for their scarred hands still draped around you, and their eyes. Piercing, blood red eyes.
But that was wrong. They were supposed to be blue, you knew it. A pretty ocean blue that always caught your attention. But instead they're a horrid, deep shade of red that seems to drop in and out of focus. They're watching expectantly, and you realize you made a mistake. The right words come to you before you even know what you're saying.
"I have plans, sorry," you correct yourself. You feel something bubble in the back of your throat, urging you to continue in a garbled, almost scratching, voice. "[I don't want to see you]"
The curtain snaps shut and you jolt. You're back in your seat, as if you never moved. The hand gently grasping yours feels just as freezing as before. Something tells you not to look to your left. You feel movement, then someone’s resting their chin on your shoulder, almost as if they’re content.
"That's good, Angel," the voice whispers at your ear. You fight back a shiver. "Remember your lines for next time. Hah… I can’t wait to hear them. You’ll do great, I know it." The hand holding yours grips a little tighter as they nuzzle against your neck. You hear a shaky, excited breath, then there's a stinging pain as teeth—
An ear piercing sound comes from somewhere around you. You blindly reach out for your alarm, knocking it to the floor. With a huff, you sat up angrily. Your heart was pounding in your chest as if you ran a marathon—maybe a bad dream? Though you couldn't remember a thing about it.
The alarm only seems to get louder as you grumble, rolling to the side of your bed and picking it up. You turn it off before realizing you didn't have work today, so you set it last night for nothing.
There's an all too familiar pinging noise as you crawl out of the covers; somehow it startles you worse than the alarm did. The screen of your laptop flickers to life with a notification. You tiredly walk over to peer at it. A red dot hovers over a program, but your eyes are drawn to a different icon.
"I guess I'll play a little before breakfast," you muse to yourself and pick up the laptop. You quickly settle back on your bed and tap the bright pink heart as you yawn. Just a few more tries wouldn’t hurt, right?

Am I the asshole for giving a random guy my friend's phone number?
(🍫📲 to find later)
I (22 NB/F) was working one day at my place of work by going around and putting various items for sale where they belong in the store, as well as taking out the recycling. As I was making my way up to the front of the store so I could go to break, this older gentleman needed help reaching something. I helped him pull it down, but before I continued I was stopped by this other kid. He had a healthy-looking emo haircut and wardrobe, so I didn't think too much about it at the time. I kid you not, his eyes were big and wide like some kind of bishounen anime (idk if I spelled that right). Literally looked straight out of one almost, he reminded me of an excited puppy too.
"Hello! Do you need help with something?"
"Uh- actually, I was wondering if I could have your Snapchat?"
I was completely gobsmacked.
"Uh- I don't have a snap chat." A lie, but only because my snap is exclusively for my BFFEAE (Best Friend For Ever And Ever). I don't pass it out to my coworkers, family, or any other friends. Just her.
"Can I have your number then?"
Usually guys don't like. Spend this long on me. I'm Demiromantic and Asexual, and for those who don't know, that means I have no interest in having sex with anyone and have no interest in dating anyone but close friends. I never thought I'd be in this situation. Ever. The idea of anyone asking me out of the fucking blue for this is so far out of left field for my expectations that I was just staring awkwardly at him for a moment.
"... unless... age is an issue?"
"Ah- no, I am 22, but I'm just not interested in a relationship right now."
And it's the truth, honestly. My mental health has been a rollercoaster of emotions and schedules that I've been struggling to maintain for months. I did have one at the beginning of the year, but dropped it because I realized I couldn't trust my lover (he was extremely conservative, and I had to hide a lot of my life from him, but it was nice while it lasted honestly. Broke up on good terms).
"That's okay. Maybe we can just hang out sometime or something."
I'll be honest, I haven't been in good health to try a brand new friendship with a complete stranger either (I have horrid social anxiety to the point where I am basically a shit in hermit, and with everything going on in my life I don't think I can handle pushing my anxiety well).
Now, years ago, when me and my BFFEAE first moved to different states, we agreed that we could use each other's phone numbers to give out if we couldn't handle it or just wanted the guy to leave us alone. We have each other permission to pretend to be each other for it, that way they're more likely to listen thinking it's you saying "no thanks" instead of her friend saying "get off her back".
So in the span of ten seconds, because this kid was really sweet and I was still pretty shocked this was even happening, I was giving my friend's number to this sparkly-eyed kid (idk how old he was but I assumed he was younger than me, that's just my natural assumption honestly) and continued on with my work day. I told him a semi-common nickname of mine instead of my actual name bc my name is hard to spell and I didn't feel like putting much time into it.
Of course, immediately after I called my friend up and left her a message saying I passed her to this really sweet kid and to be kind with him (she's a protective mama bear kind of person) but that I simply wasn't interested and didn't have the right mindspace for a new anything.
Fast forward to when I get off work and check in with my friend, she and the kid had been chatting back and forth. Apparently he was into drugs (I have sensory issues and can't handle that kind of thing, so I feel like I've actually dodged a bullet) but was getting along really well with her otherwise. We got chatting about it when I confirmed that I'm not open to hanging out with him and that as long as she's kind and doesn't try to set me up with him or anything, I'm fine with her discussing whatever with him.
"I get it girl, we all get like that for a time. I'll keep it away from ya.
By the way, he thought you gave him a random number. He was SOO excited when I responded as you lol"
I felt absolutely sick and was horrified. I figured he would have been like "sick", but apparently he had been like "FUCK YEAH". I feel horrible for deceiving him like this, but I genuinely am in no spot where I can mentally handle picking up a new friendship, much less a romantic relationship. It doesn't help that he genuinely caught me off guard, and passing him her number was my first response to handling it.
Am I the asshole for doing this?
What are these acronyms?

-----
The cold night air was heavy with smoke and sharp metallic scent, so familiar to her and so beautiful. Everything around her was red - the moon shining bright above the city, all buildings she thought she knew but somehow couldn’t fully recognize, the paved street she’d walked so many times before, now turned into a crimson stream. She could hear people scream in horror somewhere in the distance, a sweet melody filling her cold vicious heart with joy. There were also bodies scattered on the ground, so many of them, all eviscerated and mutilated beyond recognition. And in the middle of it all there was her, but she had no memory of how she could’ve gotten here.
Someone was begging for their life and she noticed she was holding a frightened man, writhing in her grasp. Before she could even think or ask herself what the hell was going on, her own hands lifted him above her head and tore him apart, like a worn-out doll, letting his guts spill on the ground before her. Except these were not her hands, but some hideous claws covered in blood and gall. And she had no control over them, nor her own body. She could only watch as it tossed the remains aside and moved against her will, roaming the streets of Baldur’s Gate, killing every unfortunate that crossed her path-
She snapped her eyes open, not daring to move. Something was not right – wherever she was, this place was too dark, too quiet, and smelled way too clean. And she was not alone there, she could feel a strong muscular arm wrapped around her waist. Her vision quickly adjusted to the darkness, letting her get a better view of her surroundings. She wasn’t in her chambers, and definitely not at the Temple, but that ceiling and this entire room looked quite familiar to her. The memories of the evening before came back to her and she relaxed a little, realizing she was still in Gortash’s bed, where she fell asleep like a log after a session of particularly steamy sex, with the lord himself sleeping soundly beside her, his steady breath warm on the skin of her neck.
It was just a dream. Normally visions of a massacre excited her and filled her with delight, but this one was different. Worrying, disturbing even. She knew whose eyes she was looking through, she knew these stories well - Sarevok had told her many times about the greatest honor Bhaal could bestow upon his most devoted children. The Slayer, a horrid beast born from pure hatred, filled with it, that existed for one and only purpose - to kill in Bhaal’s name. Only the ones who made Father exceptionally proud could become the Slayer and she would want nothing more than to please and satisfy her god to the point of deeming her worthy of being turned into his most perfect weapon. But she was painfully aware that there was a heavy price to pay for it. Eventually the monster killed its bearer’s mind, ruined their self, claimed their soul, destroying them completely. That was not exactly the future she would see for herself.
She slipped out of Gortash’s embrace, careful not to wake him, and sat on the bedside. She needed some fresh air to clear her mind. Not wanting to risk flashing any unfortunate residents of the Upper City with her naked body, she grabbed Gortash’s shirt from the floor and put it on, buttoning it up on her way to the big balcony window.
She stood there enjoying the warm night air, watching the clouds waft through the starry sky. Gortash’s mansion was situated in one of the highest points in Baldur’s Gate, meaning he had a great view on the city and the harbor it was surrounding. It was truly beautiful, even at night, suffused with faint silver moonlight that made the waters of the River Chionthar sparkle like a sea of diamonds. But she never really cared about this place. Since she remembered, Baldur’s Gate and its outskirts were her murder-playground. Not home, not a place she had any emotional connection with. She just spilled blood in her Father’s name on these streets, carried out his will in every way he demanded, and one day she knew she would have to destroy this city for him. There was no point in getting attached to anything there.
She never cared for its people either. They were just her prey, sacrificial lambs born to be slaughtered. Oh, how she loved to take their lives, make them bleed, hear their screams and watch the light in their eyes fade until there was nothing but emptiness. Killing was her calling, her purpose and life’s greatest joy and even now she felt a thrill of excitement from simply thinking about it. She yearned to see this city painted in red, brought to its knees with her own cruel hands.
But Gortash lived here too and she did not want him dead.
She had never expected that he would become so close and so dear to her. A couple years earlier he reached out to her, providing information about some stolen bhaalist artifacts, exhibited in the House of Wonders like some common trinkets. He also offered his help in retrieving them, hoping to form a long-term partnership. She agreed, knowing it would be beneficial to have a man of his aptitude and importance at her disposal. After that they worked together many more times, developing mutual understanding and, more importantly, learning to trust each other and rely on one another. Before she even realized they started spending a lot of time together, more than it was necessary. More than it was wise. Gortash had many great ideas he wanted to execute, he was a smart and diligent man, and he wanted her to be involved in almost everything he did. He was very ambitious, which she always greatly admired, and treated her with utmost respect. The man was also very well-spoken and easy to talk with, so being in his company was a literal pleasure. And he was funny sometimes.
No wonder she genuinely liked him.
But it scared her how easily he made her stray from her purpose. How he was able to make her turn her gaze away from her Father. Even now, when she should be long back at the Temple, she chose to stay in his house and spend the night with him. She wanted his company more than she feared to displease Bhaal. And that frightened her. She had never felt like this before, towards anyone, and her own feelings confused her greatly. Shamed her. It was hard to believe she was ready to disobey her god in pursuit of acceptance and admiration from a mortal. And yet, she was standing in Gortash’s bedroom, almost completely naked, with no intention of stopping coming here whenever he asked her to or when she felt the need to visit him.
It was no coincidence that she dreamed about the Slayer tonight, when she was lying in Gortash’s arms. It was a warning, a cruel reminder of what would happen if she continued to defy Bhaal and make him angry. He would force her to kill Gortash, destroy everything she dared to care about, and all she could do was watch as her own hands tear her world to shreds.
A warm body pressing against her back snapped her out of her musing. She tensed feeling a firm arm wrap around her waist, ready to strike, instinctively reaching for her dagger she realized she didn’t have on her this time. Her captor’s hand caught her wrist midway, as if knowing exactly what she was going to do.
"Easy assassin, it’s just me." Gortash’s sleepy voice soothed her immediately. "No need to spill blood."
"And I thought you enjoyed it." She mocked him, reminiscing about the evening before.
"Come back to bed." He kissed her earlobe, and then planted a couple sloppy kisses on the side of her neck. "It feels empty without you."
"Sorry, I just needed some air."
"Is everything alright?" She turned to face him and even despite poor lighting it took him one look to know the answer. "Bad dreams again?"
"Just blood, gore and death, the usual. But this one was different. Father-" She hesitated. What was she supposed to say, 'I think Father just threatened to turn me into a monster that, given the chance, would happily kill you in seconds'? She didn't want to scare him, not him. "I need to go back to the Temple."
"I hoped you would stay with me till morning. And maybe we could even eat breakfast together." She could hear a tinge of disappointment in his voice.
"I… would love to. But I can't, not tonight."
If he was just a regular noble, a wealthy politician she kept close for his contacts and influence. Father would surely let her have a favorite lover, her dearest toy she wouldn't get bored of and discard that quickly. Maybe he would even let her keep him after she brought ruin to this world. But Gortash was not only a worshiper, but the goddamn Chosen of Bane, Bhaal's sworn foe and most despised enemy. His place was on his altar, not at his beloved spawn's side.
"You know my Father is not very fond of you."
"Yes, I am very aware of that."
"He will tolerate our alliance as long as it's beneficial to him. But he can't stand how close we've become. How close I let you become to me."
"Jealous not to be the only one present in your thoughts?"
Not to be present in my thoughts at all sometimes, she thought.
"What did he show you?" Gortash didn't even try to hide his concern.
"A… warning, I suppose? What may happen if I stay too close to you."
"I greatly respect your god, your Father, but he must let you live a little. Before you have to kill us all." A hint of a smile tugged at his lips. "Your leash is already short, there's no need to yank it so often."
"You are a thorn in his side. A distraction for his perfect spawn, the cause of my doubts and disobedience. An obstacle in his plans. I-" He deserved to know the truth, no matter how terrifying it was. They knew each other for so long, been through so much. He would not be scared of her. "Enver, he wants you dead. Gone, so you can corrupt me no more. Nothing would bring him greater joy than seeing you slaughtered upon his altar. And I'm afraid he will find a way to force my hand to wield the blade."
"He can't control you like that."
"I'm afraid he can. He may-"
"No. You won't let him control yourself like that."
He took her hand, the one responsible for so many deaths and so much pain, and gently pressed his lips against her palm, kissing it with pure adoration. And to show her how much he trusted her not to hurt him, he put her hand on his chest where she could feel his heart, beating in a steady rhythm.
"I've known you for a while now and I can say with all certainty that I do know you, mind, heart and soul. We've been through a lot together, good things and shit we barely survived. I saw how strong you are, both on the battlefield and with your resolve. I saw you struggle with your urges and always remain in control of them. I saw you make decisions, your very own, and then live with their consequences. I saw you, a vicious and cold-blooded serial killer, spare lives. And I knew I could trust you. I knew you were not just a mindless puppet controlled by Bhaal, but your own person, with your own doubts, values and determination. And you never betrayed my trust. I put my life in your hands on many occasions and I would do it again, without a second thought, because I know you would not fail me. I know you. And I trust you completely." He lifted her chin with his hand, making her look him in the eye. "I'm not afraid of your Father. Because you stand between me and him. And you would never let him hurt me. Your will is stronger than him."
She was ready to disagree and argue, tell him that he didn't know what he was talking about. But deep down she knew that maybe there was some truth in his words, that he did know her, probably even better than she did. Better than Bhaal. Gortash saw right through her, not afraid to look deeper than she would've ever let anyone. And what surprised her the most was how okay she felt with that.
She'd never had anyone like this before, someone who knew her so well and still accepted her as she was, despite it all. Someone she accepted in her life as well. When she was a child, her adoptive parents tried to reach out to her, become a family, but she was unable to feel any connection with them. She killed them feeling nothing but emptiness. Later she had her congregation, her devoted followers ready to kill for her and her profane Father. They respected her greatly, revered her as they should be, but for them she was just an object of worship, a religious icon they prayed to and merciless leader they feared to disobey. Nothing more. She had no friends, no regular lovers and no steadfast allies. Of course there were also other bhaalspawn, her family, but these vipers only waited for her to turn her back on them, so they could stab it and take her place in the favoring gaze of their treachery-loving god.
And then she met Gortash.
He was like an open book to her, completely honest from the very beginning and never hiding anything, saying that only alliances built on trust and mutual understanding could survive and thrive. She was cautious at first, sensing some kind of ruse, but no backstabbing ever came and she started slowly warming up to him. Eventually he earned her trust, and her friendship. With him she could finally let her guard down and relax, knowing that in case of anything bad or unexpected happening, Gortash always had her back. She didn't even catch the moment when she started calling him Enver. She was not afraid to show him her softer and vulnerable side, just like he showed her his, and she loved how comfortable she felt in his company. In his arms she was not a killer, not a cult leader, not a daughter of a god. She was just a woman, enjoying the warmth and affection from a man she adored.
He was so damn right, she would do everything to keep him safe. She would fight her urges, resist the Slayer and openly defy her god. She could not lose Gortash, she could not lose that little piece of her own world she fought so hard to build, no matter the price.
"You are my strength." She whispered, feeling a sudden surge of warmth wash over her. "With you I can do everything."
"I know." He brushed a strand of her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. "That's why I'll remain at your side as long as I draw breath, and then my spirit will find its way back to you. Together, we're unstoppable."
"Every day I pray to my Father, beg him to let me kill you last, keep you at my side till we're the last people alive. I want you to die with me, I want to have you beside me when I am dying."
"And I want to be beside you. Only then I would let your Father guide your hand to stop my beating heart." He took her face in his hands and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "If this world must end, I want it to be by your hand, and for your glory. It will be my honor to help you fulfill your destiny, to witness your triumph as a bhaalspawn, and then fall into eternal slumber in your arms. When the time is right."
She couldn't contain herself any longer and possessively claimed his lips, dragging him into an intense and fierce kiss that led them both back to bed, where they shared another moment of heated passion. After that, spent and completely exhausted, they fell asleep in each other’s embrace.
No nightmares bothered her anymore that night.

From the prompt list
“the first initial kiss being a simple peck, then they immediately go back in for a stronger, more passionate one.”
With Echo??? First clone I thought of! Have fun :) can’t wait to read if you decide to write it!
I DID NOT EXPECT TO WRITE THIS MUCH, LOL. Echo pulled a Crosshair! ;) Sheesh.
Echo x GN!Reader Word Count: 3k!! Content: bar fight, first kiss, SW-universe cussing. ;)
Tumblr media
You’d gotten quite used to seeing them in Cid’s parlor – a motley crew of bounty hunters or mercenaries or whatever they were. You probably should have known the specifics by now, but they didn’t like to talk about work. And you weren’t paid to talk, you were paid to deliver things without asking questions. So when you found yourself lingering more and more often, lost in conversation with one in particular, you began to wonder if he would be bad for business. Yet somehow, you didn’t care.
Echo was a complete and total enigma – brave and cynical while also radiating warmth and integrity. You had so many questions that you held back, mostly because it wasn’t entirely polite to ask someone you just met why virtually half their body was cybernetic. So you stuck to the usual topics for a while: the local scene of Ord Mantell, the scum and villainy that was everywhere to be found, and random thoughts about the state of the galaxy.
Before long, you were surprised to notice how much you looked forward to your courier assignments that brought you into his vicinity, and you found more and more excuses to have extra time there. Instead of lurking around the other hot spots of underworld business dealings to pick up additional jobs, you’d take him up on his offer for a game of darts or a mug of disgustingly cheap beer in a corner booth. It became difficult to deny the sinking feeling in your heart when you trotted down the stairs into Cid’s and the team was absent on a mission.
But tonight, you were fortunate. The place was bustling – a whole new gang was in town, it seemed, and they were getting along well with the other less-than-respectable locals. The parlor was loud and lively, making it difficult to hear Echo over the incessant talking, scuffling, laughter, and shouting of all the patrons. His squad was enjoying a much-needed day off, scattered about the planet on their own pursuits of refreshment. Tech was working on the ship, Crosshair was seeking blissful solitude somewhere, and Hunter went with Wrecker and Omega on a Mantell Mix pursuit thinly disguised as a supply run.
Echo had chosen to stay here, and you were trying not to read too much into it. But the conversation had been particularly open and honest tonight, and your head was buzzing with the excitement of connection and the general joviality of the bar. Your mouth hung open slightly as he finished his story, finally filling in all of the details of how he had come to be what and where he was. The last vestiges of pain was receding from his face after having recounted his entire horrid ordeal, and you couldn’t help but place a hand over his after he downed the rest of his drink and slapped the glass on the table. The sudden intimacy caught his attention, and his pale brown eyes were large as he regarded you beneath the bluish glow of the neon lights.
“Sorry,” you said quickly, pulling your hand back. “I just… can’t believe it all. You’ve been through so much.” Your words fell out quickly as you tried to move past the potentially awkward moment, but Echo stared at the table, at his own hand where yours had rested just a moment ago.
“Yeah,” he said absently, not meeting your gaze. “Not how I would have scripted it, that’s for sure.” He appeared to be deep in thought, sharp brows drawing together over his luminous eyes. When he finally did look up, he appeared to be brimming with something… a question, a realization… and he slowly opened his mouth to speak.
CRASH!
A glass bottle shattered against the wall above the two of you, causing you to yelp and fling your arms over your head as liquid and pieces rained down. The table scraped loudly as Echo flew to his feet, hawkishly raking his eyes over the crowd. But there was no question where the disturbance had come from – a brawl had broken out across the room, and the shouting was growing louder as two entire groups immediately jumped into a conflict started by just two individuals.
“Let’s get out of here,” you said urgently, pulling on his arm as you stood beside him. You knew when it was wise to make yourself scarce after having been caught in the crossfire more often than you’d like. These sorts of crowds were irrationally unpredictable and predictably irrational. Echo cast you a glance for a moment before turning back to the aggravated group, keeping his eye on them as they swung at each other and crashed into tables nearby. He seemed torn, giving you a quick nod but then muttering under his breath.
“They’re gonna tear the whole place up…”
Cid was nowhere to be seen, and other patrons were being dragged into the fight as it grew and grew. Tables were turning, glasses smashing, and it was all threatening to melt into utter chaos when suddenly a series of live blaster bolts exploded against the ceiling in rapid-fire succession. It was enough noise and light to catch everyone’s attention for a moment, allowing for a very temporary pause as Echo’s voice boomed across the room.
“Get out!” he shouted, standing on the seat next to you, blasters in hand. “Take this kriffing garbage somewhere else!” You were in shock, watching the various reactions across the faces before you. A good few of them took the opportunity to do just that, making their getaway before it escalated any further. But a few hard-headed beefcakes threw a couple more punches before advancing toward Echo.
“Come on,” you said fearfully, pulling at his arm again as he stepped down beside you in a wide, prepared stance.
“Yeah, listen to your tasty little friend,” the leader of the group teased, “Or we might have to teach both of you a lesson.” Echo bristled, head lowering slightly, and you could feel the rage emanating off of him.
“Don’t,” you pleaded, feeling frantic.
“Can’t turn away now,” Echo responded without looking away from the few hooligans with smug grins on their faces, drawing closer with every step. Your heart was pounding in your chest, mouth completely dry at the thought of him getting hurt, even though you knew he put his life on the line on a regular basis. You began looking around for something, anything that might change the course of action. But then it all happened at once.
Two of them leapt at Echo simultaneously, but his quick dodge left them running into each other. He rushed the third with his head down, plowing into his chest and smashing him into the wall behind. His head cracked against the stone loudly, and he sank to the floor unconscious. The others were back on their feet though, fists swinging in messy anger. Echo blocked one punch, landing a blow of his own and spinning the assailant to twist his arm up behind his back before squeezing the trigger on his blaster to hit the other one squarely in the chest with a bright blue stun ray.
A squawk of pain escaped the first and he dropped his weight to the side, pulling Echo down with him as he freed his arm. He leapt up in a flash, aiming a kick that caught Echo in the ribs as he scrambled to his own feet. The sound was sickening, and the breathless grunt that left his lips made you feel his pain in your own stomach. But he moved impossibly fast, ducking another swing and landing a rapid one-two punch that had his opponent spinning. A quick lean followed by a powerful kick sent the other man crashing through another table where he landed in a crumpled heap on the ground, unmoving except for the occasional squirm.
Echo was breathing hard, looking around quickly at any other potential attackers. But the rest of the crowd had either cleared out or was composed of the few remaining stragglers that were doing their best to maintain the semblance of normalcy as they drinked and chatted uneasily. He clutched a hand to his ribs, wincing with a scowl on his face, and you were by his side in an instant.
“It’s fine,” he said automatically as you touched his shoulder, face radiating concern and affection that you just couldn’t hide anymore. You were relieved that he was alright, and as your pulse slowly returned to normal, you realized you were also completely in awe of his capability in a way that felt like more than just… awe… You were trying to find the words
But you were interrupted by an angry-sounding tromping down the stairs from the street above, a sickening feeling rising in your stomach. As you saw a whole group of those same troublemakers from before, you realized who was associated with whom, and it was definitely time to go. You grabbed Echo’s arm, pulling him with surprising force toward Cid’s office. As he assessed the situation, you could see the indignation and anger on his face, but he ultimately allowed you to pull him away. When the office door whooshed shut behind you, you frantically tapped on the keypad to lock it from the inside.
“I know you could take them all,” you began, turning around to face him. He was standing, but leaning on the edge of Cid’s desk, face grumpy as he rubbed a hand across his ribs. “But it’s not worth it. There’s an endless supply of idiocy like that around here – you’re going to put a target on your back.”
“It’s just ridiculous that–” came his angry reply, but you stepped closer, cupping his cheek with a suddenness that surprised yourself.
“I know,” you repeated, softly this time as his exhilarating proximity registered in your brain and body. “Sorry…” you admitted, casting about for words, “I just…” You faltered, trying to explain something you were only just now fully realizing for yourself. “Are your ribs broken?”
The change of subject took his attention for a moment, and he felt the ridges and grooves with tentative fingers. He breathed in slowly, flinching when his lungs expanded to a certain point, and slowly let it out, raising his eyes to yours. “Maybe a little crack,” he said, the bitterness in his voice unfettered by the waves of pain.
“You get into fights often?” you asked, lowering your hand from his cheek to rest on his shoulder.
“Not if I don’t have to,” he answered, and you arched an eyebrow in response. “Alright, I know I didn’t have to say anything, but… it’s just not right…” His mutter trailed off as he shrugged, turning away in what might have been shame. You felt your heart swell in your chest at his sense of integrity, trying to find words to express it without completely giving away the depth of your feelings, but the beep of his comm interrupted your search.
Havoc 4, come in.
He pulled it from his belt, lifting it to his mouth with an apologetic glance to you. “Go ahead.”
There appears to be a significant disturbance in the area of Cid’s parlor, according to the local surveillance network. What is your location?
“Yeah, there was a bar fight, Tech. It’s fine, it’s over now.”
That is not what I asked.
“I’m at Cid’s,” Echo snapped, rolling his eyes at the pert voice on the line. “I told you, it’s fine.”
The comm was silent for a moment, and you met Echo’s gaze with a small, compassionate smile.
Understood. The ship is located in its usual docking bay, should anyone there require medical attention.
A click and a beep signaled the disconnect, and the smirk on Echo’s face had you puzzled for a moment.
“What?” you asked, unable to hold it back.
“‘S just karking annoying when he knows more than he should,” he grumbled, though his eyes were sparkling with amusement. He sighed, looking up at you as though he were fully realizing your softness, your lingering touches, and your blatant concern and admiration. He opened his mouth for a moment as though trying to decide what to say, then slowly closed it, regarding you evenly. You swallowed, suddenly wildly aware of every single muscle in your body, and tried to arrange your features into a neutral expression.
“”What?” Now it was his turn to ask, a tiny smirk playing at the corner of his lips as he tilted his head at you.
“What?” you echoed, eyes wide and innocent as you looked at him with the look of one accused.
“What… uh… What are you… so concerned… about?” The smirk was fading into a slight insecurity of his own. You took a deep breath, cheeks flushed red as your heart continued to race. Something about the thrill of it all and the sudden vulnerability in this private room had you reeling, with long-restrained feelings brimming at the surface and threatening to spill over.
“You,” you whispered, lowering your eyes and chewing on your thumb nail. “I care… about you.”
His own heart skipped a beat at your admission – something he had suspected, no – hoped for – yet felt entirely unworthy to believe. He rose to his feet, a cringe flashing across his face before he became still again, staring intently at your eyes. “You do?” he asked, voice husky and quiet now, disarmed entirely.
His tone was soothing and inviting, and the thinly-veiled vulnerability was entirely irresistible. Buoyed by the adrenaline of the evening and the thrill of the situation before you, you took a step closer, lifting your other hand to rest on his chest. Leaning in slightly, you touched your forehead to his, smiling at his sharp inhale and the subsequent closing of his eyes that completely melted your heart. You were helplessly entranced, and you brushed your fingers along his jaw before resting them on the back of his shoulder as you pulled yourself close.
Your lips met with a feather-light touch that sent sparks flying immediately. Your heart thrilled at the sensation, body exploding with euphoric tingles, and you pulled back quickly, keeping your foreheads together but remaining frozen in joyous disbelief otherwise. He let out a slow breath, as if soaking up every single second, then stepped back a few inches, opening his eyes to gaze at you in awe and disbelief and wonder and delight.
“Sorry if that was… uh…” you began, but he shook his head immediately, curling his fingers gently under your chin and touching the pad of his thumb to your lips to silence the rest.
“It wasn’t,” he said, eyes intent. “Unless… It was a mistake, or–”
“No no no,” you laughed, standing slightly straighter as he dropped his hand from your lips to your waist. “Why would it be a mistake?” He shrugged, casting his gaze off to the side with a sudden expression of sheepish disdain that you were wildly curious. Giving him a slight nudge, you pressed, “Echo?”
“I don’t know,” he grumbled, unwillingly meeting your eyes. “I just… didn’t think people saw me that way…” He fell silent, the magnitude of his words settling on your heart, heavy with compassion. You stepped back in, nestling yourself against his chest, and brushed your lips against his cheek as you whispered near his ear.
“Let me show you how I see you.”
In an uncharacteristic burst of courage, you looped both arms around his neck, bringing your lips to his with ardent intentionality. He stiffened for a split second before relaxing into your embrace, sliding his own arm around your waist and digging the other into your hair at the base of your neck. You felt as though you could swoon as he held you so effortlessly, and you tilted your head as you moved your mouth against his, deepening the kiss with a whisper-soft sigh. You could hear his heart pounding in his chest as you rested a hand on it, feeling relieved that it matched your own frantic pulse rate.
You kissed again and again, changing the angle, adding the tiny stroke of a tongue or the hungry tug of a lip. He seemed to grow before you, his presence expanding with an alluring mix of dumbfounded surprise that framed a strength, resolve, and passion that made your knees weak. His hands roved gently across your body, caressing you against him as his open--mouthed kisses grew messier. The sensation of his lips on yours, his taste filling your mind and sparkling with the sensation of his hands gliding along your skin… you had a fleeting concern that you may have died and gone to heaven.
But the dreamy reverie was broken suddenly as he pulled back, breathing hard and sucking in air as though his life depended on it. He drew the back of one hand across his mouth, one last shuddering breath escaping before he settled into a quiet, blissful smile.
“Didn’t think people saw you that way…” you scoffed in playful jest, shaking your head in utter disbelief.
“Well, I’ve been somewhat convinced that it’s untrue,” he returned evenly, the suggestive smolder in his gaze sending a warmth blossoming between your legs.
“Only somewhat?: you repeated with a grin.
“Somewhat,” he answered, cupping your face and leaning in again.

James
My boy with the soft caramel skin and the dark chocolate eyes, the sunshine smile and thick curls that I could sink my fingers into. The boy with the big round glasses that made you look like those big brown eyea of yours were the size of dinner plates.
My boy that could light up a room with a grin. The one who was gentle with everyone and kind and excitable. The one who worked hard for everyone but himself. The one who was everything.
You were a brother and a partner to Sirius who needed you the most. You were a safe place for Remus when he had no family to go to. You were sunshine for Peter when his anxiety ate him alive. You were a comedian for Lily when she was working too hard. You were a protector for your friends, a family to ones who had noone to go to, sunshine for your parents who worked and did what they could to keep you and your loved ones out of the war.
That night when you'd followed me out of our dorm and sat with me under the bleachers of the Quidditch arena, sharing some cigarettes I'd nicked from one of the seventh years. We'd sat there for hours and I told you I didn't feel like talking about what was going on. We were freshly eleven and didn't really know each other. But that part never mattered to you. You sat beside me anyway and you talked me through Quidditch of all things. You had never played but by the end of your explanation I could've sworn that you'd written the book on the game.
I went to every game you played after that. I was mesmerized watching you. You were more confident on a broomstick than I could have ever hoped to be. You were fearless and impressive and focused. I could never understand how you did that.
We never became close like you and Sirius. Our house rivalry made that difficult for sure. But you made an effort for me, made time to make sure that you could talk to me, you would ask how home was and comfort me when I would tell you how horrid it was. You were the best distraction and friend I could have asked for.
My favourite memory still remains to be the night you'd found me half-asleep in the Astronomy Tower. It was the night everyone had gotten home from summer vacation at the beginning of fourth year. I was laying there, thinking I was going to die from injuries my parents had caused not even a week prior. You didn't ask what happened, you didn't tell me I was wrong for not going to anyone. You just wrapped your jacket around my shoulders and sat down beside me, you let me lay my head in your lap and talked in a whisper so that I was distracted enough to finally fall asleep. It was the first time I had slept in weeks, if not months. But your energy and your prescence always made it so much easier. My mind was never a safe place for me and somehow even when I didn't tell you, you knew that. You understood much better than I'll ever be able to fathom.
I would do anything for that right now. I'm laying down alone in my flat, your jacket wrapped around me tightly even though it's worn out from me wearing it over the years, the letter in my hands stating that you're gone still tightly in my grip. I want to scream. I want to beg anyone who'll listen to me to give me my sunshine boy back. I want for just two minutes to have my sunshine in my arms just one more time. We'd been on the phone not even 24 hours before I was sent that letter. I could hear your voice, your laugh. But now I can't hardly move. How can one spell, two words destroy all the good in someone like that? How can they just remove someone like you from this world? I'll never understand.
But I need my sunshine boy. I need you home. I need you to tell me it's going to be fine. I need to wake up in your lap and just blink away this horrid nightmare.
I literally don't know where this came from I just started writing it in my head and figured I would write it down.

Tolkien of Color Week - Day 4: Home, Cultural identity, Growing up
Arondir's life, told through the places he calls home over the centuries.
Arondir took one final look around the land he used to call home. He was young, only barely an adult, but he had already grown very close to this place and the memories he had made there. He had walked the hills under the eternal starlight, herding livestock. He had played, and fished, and learned to swim in the little, winding rivers. During cold seasons, he swam with his siblings in the volcanically heated pools. He had explored the caves with his cousins and they had carved pictures in the living stone.
He would certainly miss this place, he thought to himself as he and his family crossed over the three-walled mountain range that had protected them for so many years. It was time to move on though. They were the only intelligent beings they knew of and, no matter how idyllic their home, it was incredibly lonely; particularly for his older cousins who were now old enough to marry.
With that in mind, they were leaving to go West, to follow the trail of what Grandfather had described as hundreds and hundreds of elves, more than any of them could imagine. As excited and nervous as he was, Arondir could not help the feeling of calm that came over him. He knew, somewhere deep in his bones, that he would be back someday.
—----
Arondir groaned as he hoisted the final box of produce out of the family cart and began unloading it into the open-air market stand. The market was a cheerful place, located in a peaceful clearing a few miles outside of Menegroth. On a clear day like this one, it bustled with buyers from the city and growers from all up and down the river valley. There were even a few other Silvan migrant families like his own.
As he placed the last bundle of asparagus in its place, he turned and came face to face (or, well, stomach to face) with his little cousin, Naurion. “Arondir! Look what I caught!”
He held out his hands to show off a dead, blood-covered squirrel. It was all Arondir could do to keep his breakfast down as he patted Naurion on the head. “Well done, rend. Go and show Grandfather."
The boy ran off excitedly, taking the horrid sight with him. Arondir had never quite had the stomach for violence that most everyone else he knew had. No matter how many animal carcasses he saw or how many times his mother had made him break down a chicken for dinner, he simply could not handle it.
Luckily, he thought to himself, he would never have to handle it. He could marry a woman who did not mind it and handle the other household responsibilities instead. In the meantime, he could continue bribing his brothers to do his butchering chores for him.
It was not as if he would ever have to live entirely alone or face some kind of battle. Doriath was the most well-protected realm this side of the Sundering Sea, protected by a maia! The Enemy Himself would be hard-pressed to send any kind of force to hurt them there.
—--
In the end, it was not The Enemy they had to fear. First, it was the selfishness and wrath of the dwarves that destabilized their realm, causing Queen Melian to flee and leaving them all but defenseless against attack. Then came the kinslayers that killed their new king and slaughtered their people.
Sirion, where the river fed the sea, was the place the survivors fled to. Too few survivors in Arondir’s opinion; his own family not among them. His sister, as the princes’ caregiver, was almost certainly dead. His parents, hearing that Menegroth was under attack, had run to their daughter’s aid, but never returned. His grandfather and two of his brothers had been killed in defense of their farm. His third brother had received a wound that had soured on the road and he had died of it. He had no idea what happened to his aunt, uncle, and cousins, but he had seen neither hide nor hair of them since the attack.
Arondir did his best to make a life for himself at the Havens of Sirion, but it was hard. He was alone for the first time in his life. Nevertheless, he built himself a ramshackle dwelling like everyone else and employed his time by growing food for the community.
He grew all sorts of things; potatoes, water chestnuts, paw paws, and blackberries; but his favorite were the strawberries he grew next to his porch. That was where he was now, tending them. He could feel the warm sun on his neck, the soft earth under his fingernails. He could watch the slugs try to slither away from him as he pulled the weeds from the shoots and “relocated” the pests. He could smell the scent of the river and the sea mingling in the air, as well as the less-than-pleasant smells of daily life in a refugee village. He could hear the sounds of distant waves and the excited shrieks of the pack of children that ran the streets during the day.
They quieted down as they reached him. “Redhor Arondir,” the ringleader of the group spoke up. She was a peredhel girl by the name of Daniel and was by far the boldest of them all. “May we have some strawberries?”
They were all sweet children, fixing as many problems as they caused, and Arondir was always happy to provide them with treats on his days off. That didn’t mean he couldn’t have some fun with them first, though. “Hmm…” he said thoughtfully, enjoying the identical wide-eyed looks of suspense on each tiny face. “Do you happen to remember the magic word, children?”
Daniel straightened and took a deep breath. “Is it listo?”
“No.”
“Mecin?”
“No.”
“Enel?”
Arondir heaved a great sigh. “Oh, I suppose I can spare a few berries for a maiden who asks so sweetly.”
He ducked his head in an attempt to hide his smile at the cheers that rose up from the little group and produced the basket of strawberries he had picked for them fifteen minutes before. They raised the basket above their heads and ran off, crowing about their “victory” and sharing their “spoils” amongst themselves. A few of the older children threw a brief “thank you!” over their shoulders and promised to bring his basket back when they were finished with it.
After watching them go with a fond smile, Arondir turned back to his strawberry patch. Perhaps this was not so terrible a place to make a home. His family had built a new life from scratch once before and, while it would certainly be more difficult on his own, the war was far north of their peaceful little corner of the world. If they were careful, watchful, prepared, they would have time.
—----
Arondir looked out over the Southlands from the top of the guard tower. More than 600 years after the War of Wrath and twenty years into his current deployment, things were quiet. He had established a routine and befriended the (largely Sindarin and Noldorin) other soldiers within his regiment, but still he couldn't truly relax. The Enemy could still be out there, waiting to strike, waiting to corrupt these Men.
The Southlands looked different now than it did in his youth, under an endless starry night. Hundreds, maybe thousands, more people roamed the land he once called home. They had built and carved the land according to their needs.
And yet, in many ways, it was still the same place. The hills he had walked, the rivers he had bathed in, the geothermal pools he had played in, and the petroglyphs he had carved were all still there (although the petroglyphs were faded and worn a little by now).
People still herded cattle on those hills. People still bathed in those rivers. People still warmed themselves in the volcanic pools. Children with too much time on their hands still wandered the caves, carving pictures by torchlight.
There were times when Arondir felt more kindredness with the Southlanders than with his own regiment. He had been sent there to keep the outside world safe from the Southlanders; but the longer he stayed, came to know them and their ways; the more he found himself trying to protect them from the outside world.

Hey!! I know you said earlier that you are swamped with lesso requests, so really please dont feel like you have to write this. I just had this idea for an agere fic, so yknow how in the school for good and evil movie, when rafal is trying to destroy the schools, and he turns the staff (including lesso and dovey) into dolls?? What if reader is their girlfriend, and she didnt get turned into a doll because dovesso hid her in a room away from rafal so she doesnt get hurt. And reader notices that her mommas havent come back for quite some time, so she goes to search for them. She finds them as dolls, and at first she thinks its funny and she plays with them, but then she starts to miss the real human them and gets really upset. Once rafal is defeated, they turn back into their regular human forms (and remember everything that happened while they were dolls) and they comfort reader to make her feel better, super fluffy ending?? LOVE your writing, i hope youre having a great day. <333
Dolly heart
*Authors note~ I'm sorry it's taking ages for this to be posited but Agere will always have my heart, slowly smashing out these requests and getting ahead of myself which means you'll have fics prepared for when I move :)*
Trigger warnings~ little r Leonora mumma and Clarissa mommy Rafal being a horrid human sad little r
Prompt~ see ask^^^^
✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿
Your girlfriends would always protect you and put your safety and health above their own. It took loving you for them to finally accept the love they'd been denying all the years for one another. And then they realised you regressed, allowing them to function as your caregivers which only strengthened their feelings for you and each other. When you regressed they took you to your old chambers in the school for good, where you had everything your little mind could ever think of.
This particular day, you happened to be snuggled up in the bed with your mommas happily suckling on your fingers as you dozed in and out of consciousness. That's when they heard it, the bang. What on earth would the Nevers and Evers doing now that would be so loud? But then came the terrified screams. Both woman made sure you would be happy and have all your needs met when you awaken before carefully leaving you to rest, they had every hope to be back before you even realised they had gone. But Rafal had other plans for the women.
Waking up cold was something you hated in either mindset, normally you'd have the warmth of at least one of your girls but not today. Your little mind struggled to understand where they'd gone. You spotted your favourite sippy cup and your favourite biscuit shaped like little animals at the bedside, all ready for you to pick at. But soon after you began to notice their absence again, you truly didn't know what to do or where they were which caused you to cry.
Twenty minutes of crying had you trying to escape the bed and flee the room, angry whines of frustration when you couldn't open the door. But after a few minutes of tugging and crying you managed to get it open just enough for you to slip through the gap. There you managed to stumble your way through the halls until you entered the great hall. Colourful and pretty much the dream wonderland for your mindset, but the best part was it came with dolly's.
Both mommas knew just how much you loved dolly's so of course they'd surprise you with dolls in certain places that you'd happen to find. This time it appears you'd been extra good because of the number of dolly's. If you were less excited and in more of a mature mindset you would've noticed the likeness to the people you call friends and your lovers. But you weren't, so with an excited squeal you threw yourself to the ground and scooped up the two dolls that looked like your mommas. "Momma" you whimpered stroking the dolls curly hair, "mommy!" You squeaked happily twirling the doll so her dress moves.
For a while you acted out all the little things your mind came up with, from momma and mommy being with you to adding in your friends miniature versions, going through daily things as you babbled to yourself happily. Looking at the Lesso doll had tears sprinting into your eyes, "mamamama" you babbled as the sadness overwhelmed you. "Want mamama mommmy" you whimpered putting the dolls down gently before curling into yourself in an attempt to self soothe.
You cried yourself to sleep on the cold hard floor, which is how you missed you dolls turning into the usual selves. Leonora was first to run to you, Doveys good instincts wanting her to check on everyone first, she know lesso would make sure your okay. "Dove? Wake up my little devil. Wake up for momma" she murmured while trailing her finger through your hair in a soothing manner. "Momma" you blinked sleepily coming to rub the sleep out of your tired eyes, "miss yous where gones?" That moment you caught sight of your mommy you could've sobbed for joy.
"Hi baby" Clarissa murmured coming to scoop you up in her arms, "I missed you sweet girl, and thank you for being so kind to those dolly's angel, we are very proud of you little love." At the mention of the dolls you began to search the room, not finding any dolls which caused you to cry. "What's wrong my darling?"Clarissa murmured now coming to rub your back in a soothing manner. "Mana dolly gones!" You sobbed hiccuping as the sobs wracked your body. "You want a mama dolly baby?" You nodded watching as Leonora magically produced two dolls, exact replicas of what you were playing with before. "Let's go lay down my love, I'm sure you wanna show momma and mommy dolly to all your other stuffies don't you?"

Ghosts That We Knew
Part 8- Abandonment Issues
Tumblr media
You were more than excited to hear the news: your deal had gone through for your new Cafe and bakery! The lease would be there for two years, and if your business was profitable, the place would become yours. The previous owner, now your lease holder, was a sweet older lady who had originally tried to use the place as a small tea shop, so everything you needed was mostly there. You sat Ellie down and told her the news, the little girl squeaking loudly with excitement. It was only a short distance away, about a ten minute drive from your place, so you didn't need to move, much to Ghost's relief.
He was happy for you, he really was. But he was certain that he wouldn't be able to bear it if you left. Maybe it was his abandonment issues talking, but he always had a feeling you would leave. He couldn't blame you. The apartment wasn't the best admittedly, despite your best effort to make it a home. His death, he knew, left a heaviness around and he knew that wasn't good for Ellie. Or really you for that matter.
Now that he knew the truth, he had been contemplating the best way to tell you. But how best to do it? You even said you didn't want to know about your donor, that the heart would feel even less like yours. But if you found out on your own, it would breed resentment.
There was no "right" way to go about this. Only the lesser of two evils. A rock and a hard place.
Wasn't the first time Simon was stuck in a situation like that, though he had hoped the last one would legit be the last one.
He was selfish, he knew. He didn't want you and Ellie to leave. As far as he was concerned, you two were his family and he loved you both as best he could. But at the same time, he knew his presence in your life would only hold you back. He had thrown away his chance to live and he knew it was wrong to be so clingy to the living.
But it was a fact. One day you and Ellie would leave, and most likely he would never see you two again. The thought filled him with dread. He wanted you to stay, but knew that just wasn't possible. The thought of you one day leaving broke something in him as he turned from the living room and back down the hall to his closet. It slammed shut, startling you and Ellie as the room grew cold.
"Ghost?!" Ellie hopped off the sofa to the closet door and thief to open it, but it wouldn't budge, "Ghost?! What's wrong?!".
You followed after your little girl, worried for him too. "Ghost? Hey, what's going on? Come talk to us"
You pulled the communicator app back up, wondering what was going on. He hadn't done anything like that in months and it was concerning. He didn't want to talk, though. He wanted to be left alone, to get used to solitude again. It was best to start breaking hearts now rather than waiting for you two to break his anew.
"Ghost…please. I can't fix this if I don't know what's wrong".
"You can't fix this" he wanted to tell you, just like you had told him that night a few months ago, but he stayed quiet.
"Ghost, are you mad at us?" Ellie asked, sad and worried.
Horrid negative thoughts were going through his mind, the same ones from the night he died. He was useless, thinking that he could make the world a better place by himself. No one loved him, and anyone who did was dead because of him. Everyone would be better off without him, they just tolerated him because of the job. And now he felt like you two only tolerated him because you lived here. The hall was going icy cold as those thoughts pervaded his mind.
Ellie wasn't about to stand for it. The little girl stepped to the closet door and put her hand on the knob. You moved to grab it.
"Sweetie no, that's his space" you told her.
"He needs us mama! We gotta go in there!".
"Nöelle, listen to me. We do not overstep boundaries. Much less the boundaries of the dead when they've drawn a hard line. The closet is his space and we need to mind it"
"But mama-"
"Nöelle L/N! No more. You heard me. He will come to us in his own time. He'll be fine, I promise".
Ellie looked saddened at that as she looked at the door. "I just want him to know that we're here for him…he thinks of us like family".
Your tone softened at that. "He does now?".
The little girl nodded. "We talk a lot".
"I can imagine…" you responded thoughtfully, "we talked a little bit a few nights ago. I…I actually saw him, felt him".
"You think Didi would've liked Ghost?" Ellie asked, cocking her head.
Didi was the title Ellie had given to your late partner, and she hadn't talked about them in a long time. Although assigned male at birth, they didn't conform to gender norms and preferred to be referred to by they/them. When picking a parent title upon Ellie's adoption, they picked Didi because one they thought it was cure, and two it was probably the least confusing option.
"I think Didi would've taken a while to like him, but I think they'd be good friends in the end" you finally answered.
"Maybe Didi sent him!" Ellie's face lit up at the idea, which made you smile.
"It's…plausible" you shrugged a little.
As negative as his feelings were in the moment, Ghost listened in. He definitely wasn't sent by anyone, but he didn't want to crush Ellie's belief in that. From what he understood, Didi had also been a soldier, unfortunately killed in the line of duty while trying to protect younger members of his unit. They had died honorably, a hero's death, very much unlike himself.
"Fucking coward" his mind hissed at him viciously, "at least their death fucking meant something…while you made yourself brain dead in a tiny cramped closet…".
He didn't want to think about it, but the mind was a terrible thing even in death…
Ghost didn't know how long he stayed in that closet, wallowing in his misery. It made him feel pathetic. He was supposed to be better than that, stronger than that. But ghosts were by nature miserable creatures, and unfortunately he was no exception. When he did finally emerge, he didn't know who to really go to first. You were in your room, making plans for your new bakery and Cafe. He didn't want to disrupt you. Ellie was in her room, playing with her stuffies and dressing them up for the night's events.
It was that day again.
Halloween.
It explained why he felt his emotions more vividly today. It was the anniversary of his death. Now it was three years ago…
Damn time really did fly by when you were dead.
He watched from a corner of Ellie's room as she sat her three favorite plushies (a bunny, a red panda, and a grizzly bear) at a play table and was giving them tea. It seemed he was interrupting a Halloween themed tea party. This could've been his life, he realized sadly. He could've been here playing with her, or at least helping you with preparations.
Could've, Would've, and Should've…the three damn stooges of life (and death apparently…).
He knew it was selfish, but he didn't want either of you to leave. He wanted this to be forever, to be permanent. You and Ellie were all he had now, all that reminded him of what it was like to be alive. You both made him feel something so sweet, a feeling that filled his chest and seemed to spread to every fiber of his being. It was warm, so warm, he realized, that for a moment he almost felt like he was indeed alive again.
Was this love? Was this obsession? Maybe a combination of the two? He knew he didn't want it to go away. He didn't want either of you to leave him. Ghost just…didn't want to be alone anymore.
"Ghost?" Ellie's voice pulled him away from his thoughts, "what's wrong?".
Something inside of him softened at the question. Ellie was a complete sweetheart and he adored her. She had a huge heart for someone so small.
"I'm alright, lovely. It's just…a rough day for me is all" he answered.
"Why's that?" Ellie asked, pulling out a small chair for him at her table.
Behind his mask, he smiled half amused. It was so tiny but he'd never turn down an offer to sit with the little girl's favorite friends. He sat down and she stayed close to him.
"Halloweens a rough one for me. I…I did a really dumb thing that-"
"Did you die today?" She asked, still feeling sad for him.
There was no point in hiding it. "Unfortunately…"
"What's it like?".
"To die? Not something you need to know about yet. Not for a very, very long time".
"Like when I'm thirty!"
He couldn't help but chuckle at that. Kids were funny even when they weren't trying to be.
"Way longer than that lovey".
Her eyes widened. "When I'm a hundred?!".
That actually got him full on laughing. "That would be preferred actually".
A long full life is what she deserved. It's what they both deserved, really. Ellie looked at him, her eyes warm and sweet, but there was concern in them.
"What's the matter, Ghost? Why were you sad earlier?" She asked.
"It's not something for you to worry yourself with sweetie" he tried to assure her, "my troubles are mine to deal with".
"But Ghost…you're family" she told him, "and family's always there for each other".
Ghost frowned but his eyes softened. "It's just…I don't wanna lose you and your mum. I care about you girls, a lot. More than I ever expected to. But at the same time…I know you guys can't stay forever".
"Who says that?" Ellie asked.
"It's complicated. You may be able to stay now but…eventually I know you both are gonna wanna leave. And when you do, I don't know if I'll be able to follow you. I mean, I might but it's gonna take a lot out of me".
"We would never leave you" Ellie looked at him with utmost determination, "at least I wouldn't".
"Thank you darling. I wouldn't even think of leaving you either" he wanted to keep himself from going into too much depth about his feelings.
A lot of them were too heavy, too complicated for a little child to understand. He just didn't want to feel like he did in his last days: alone, and like he had no one. His loneliness was not her burden and he wouldn't dare burden her with it.
"Oh! Mama helped me get a costume together! I'm gonna be a skeleton ghost like you!".
Ghost blinked. Wait…she wanted to be him for Halloween? That was…interesting. He looked at Ellie intrigued.
"I'll show you! I won't look as cool as you, but I wanted to do something like you-".
"Honey?" Your voice called through the door, "Ellie? Is everything okay?".
"Yeah mama…Ghost came out of the closet!".
That got a chuckle out of him. Ellie turned to him.
"Something funny?" She asked as you came in.
You yourself couldn't see him but felt he was definitely there. The chill was the best indicator. It wasn't a sad chill unlike earlier though, it was more of just how he was naturally.
"Just a funny thought, dear" Ghost told Ellie as he stood when you came in.
You looked at Ellie. "We'll need to get you ready soon. Is it alright if I borrow him for a bit?".
Your little girl nodded. "He likes to talk to you mama. I don't mind. I think he was scared earlier".
"Scared?".
Ellie nodded. "He'll explain it if he's up for it".
You raised a brow as you looked toward the empty seat. "I'll wait for you in my room".
Ghost nodded, though he knew you couldn't see. Mostly out of respect, being rather disciplined even in death. You waited for him as Ellie busied herself for the night's candy hunt, setting up the app and placing the phone between the two of you.
"So…Ellie says you're scared. Something scares you?" You asked, looking ahead, as Ghost stood at the end of your bed.
He responded, the app only picking up: Don't. Leave.
"I'm just taking Ellie out for-" it dawned on you, "wait you mean…don't leave here, as in don't leave you?".
Yes.
You frowned at that. "Ghost, we aren't gonna leave you. You're pretty much a part of our family at this point. Why would you think we'd just up and leave you?".
Better. Home.
"Well yeah the apartment's a bit small, and eventually I would like to get my own place-".
Don't. Leave. Me.
"Ghost, can't you follow us? I've seen ghosts do that on TV all the time".
Not. Strong. Enough.
That didn't help things. "We have a few years, Ghost. We'll cross that bridge once we get there. But I want you to know that Ellie and I, I promise you, we will not abandon you. If you're able to come with us, if we do get a new home, there will always be space and room for you. I'll even make sure we get a spare room, to use for you most days. My sister or my mom might come over every so often so you'd have to take the haunting down a tad, but other than that, it'd be yours. I just want you to be happy and if we make you happy, then you're definitely free to come with us. I won't stop you. I don't want to".
And you meant it. Ghost really was a part of your family, in a way. He made life interesting. He was kind, when he could be, and gentle when he had to be. Who knew a ghost could be such a positive thing? To an extent, you wondered if he was a guardian angel of sorts, perhaps even sent by your partner. It was a stretch but an interesting thought.
As for Ghost, he sensed no lies on you. You meant every word and then some. He could trust you, despite something in him deep down telling him it wasn't smart.
"Be careful who you trust, sergeant. People you know can hurt you the most" he remembered telling Soap all those years ago…
But just like Soap, he trusted you. You, just like him, had weaseled your ways into his heart, figuratively and literally. It seemed his defenses were easier to slip through than he realized…
Soap.
"What?" That was the second time in the past month he mentioned soap. You looked at your phone puzzled.
Johnny.
You didn't know anyone named Johnny. You looked up at the supposed blank space where the apparition was. "Who is that?".
Mac. Tavish.
"Johnny and Mac Tavish?" You didn't get it.
Soap.
"Okay you aren't making any…wait" you blinked, putting the pieces together, "Johnny MacTavish? I don't know anyone with that name".
You picked the phone up and made a note in it of the name. If time allowed, perhaps you could look it up?
"Friend of yours?" You asked.
Yes.
At least yes or no questions could be easily answered. You gave a soft half smile. "I'll try to look him up later. Gonna help Ellie get ready for trick or treating. Wanna try and join us?".
Try.
And that was all you could ask of him. It's all anyone could really ask of anyone...
If you guys liked this please let me know! I love when you guys comment so please feel free to like, comment, and please reblog and tell me your thoughts! I'll be continuing this in December, but for now, I got an original story to work on ^.^ thank you so much :)

(For the theme)
xB has lived his whole life in the tank, seeing no one but those damned 'customers' of the auctions, he's only been bought once, but he was sent back as he was "not what they were looking for." He has heard of other mers escaping, leaving this horrid place behind for larger bodies of water, he's heard of the ocean, of lakes, of rivers, but he's never actually seen them. This auction feels different though, to be honest he's a bit scared. Is he going to be bought? Is it going to be like those horror stories of mers being bought, only to be chopped up for food? He's stuck in his mind before all hell breaks loose, through the yelling he thinks he hears something about a protection agency? There's someone looking at him from the top of his tank, someone with big eyes and a large grin, he's confused, he's scared, everything has fallen into chaos, but those eyes are so captivating, he can't look away.
-C
It takes... Some time for xB to accept he's not simply been bought. He's moved to a bigger tank. It's bigger than any he's been in before, and has spaces made of large rocks that he can use to hide away in.
People examine him often. They tell him what they're doing, even though he never replies. He always gets something nice to eat afterwards. He's not sure why. That big eyed human is there often. xB sees him nearly everyday. Sometimes, he's the only reason xB will poke out the shelter of his rocks.
They talk a lot about rehabilitation, which is something xB's never heard his previous owner mention. Language skills, tail strength, socialisation... Honestly, if there's this much wrong with him, xB doesn't know why they haven't just sent him back!
One day, whilst he's dozing at the bottom of the tank, he finds that human staring at him again. xB tilts his head, quietly swimming out to meet him. The human speaks to him, calling himself Keralis. He seems sympathetic, and for the first time... Somebody explains everything to him. Keralis says he's safe, and that they're trying to make him ready to live in the ocean.
xB works harder after that. He does the exercises they ask him to, he tries to pay attention to the language they teach him. The first time they take him outside, to a large lake, xB might cry. It's still contained, but he has more room to swim around than he ever has before! And Keralis is there, running around the lake with him. xB, for the first time in... A long time, finds himself laughing. He's having fun.
Keralis helps him a lot. He's often there to chat, or mess around. xB feels like he can actually let go around Keralis. Even when they introduce him to other mers, Keralis is the one he feels closest with. He's the first person xB talks to as he struggles with making words, but he never judges him for it.
It's why, when it comes to the day they plan to release xB into the ocean he... Doesn't want to go. He's always wanted to see the ocean, it's been a dream of his. But without Keralis there... Is it really worth it?
So, quietly, he expresses that to Keralis. And Keralis tries to convince him that they'll be other mers out there to meet, people xB can befriend but... That wouldn't stop xB missing Keralis. They eventually reach a compromise. Keralis will transfer to one of the boat crews, and that way they can see each other.
The arrangement is perfect. xB is excited as the boat roars into the open water. There's so much of it. Water as far as he can see, more than he's ever seen. He catches Keralis looking at him, smiling. xB reaches his hand out the tank to hold his.
When xB finally dives into the sea, he doesn't think he's ever been happier.
Nowadays, xB follows around Keralis's research vessel. Keralis calls him a research assistant, and xB doesn't think he's joking. He can get a lot of information they're not able to! He's got a big tank on the ship so he can hang out and talk to Keralis. He helps monitor pollution and living conditions of the water, as well as talking to mers about their happiness or any threats.
xB's heard a bit about marriage from other mers. One day he wants to ask Keralis, but he's still a bit too nervous to do it yet.

So everything I want to work on atm are all multichap fics or long fics and they're all so fun. I'll take breaks on em to so one shots here and there, I still have prompts saved that were given to us that we look forward to completing as well.
But I do wanna share some of the long au's and multi chaps real quick because I so very much thrive off of interaction & reaction & such. So here:
-
Obviously, the current WIPs that are in the front line are Conversationalist (set to have 8 chapters plus a bonus) & Jealousy, Ft. Lando (🔞) (set to have a total of 5 ish chapters).
And we haven't forgotten about Force User Zeb, we just haven't had the opportunity to pick it back up. We do have a lot planned for it and look forward to taking it out of its hiatus, we just do not know when that'll be.
-
There's the defectors au with Ezra and Kallus.
For that one, we plan on writing quite a bit of things for the years that Kallus is fostering Ezra and is growing into a friendship with the Bridgers as they slowly help him see the empire for what it is. There's a lot of complex things that'll go on there.
And I also look forward to working how that changes things during the canon events, how different things will be. But you can bet your ass that the parallels will be plentiful.
-
There's also The Renascence of 264, which will be a multi chap follow up on the courier droid that had temporarily helped the ghost crew.
Essentially, (fulcrum) Kallus finds the droid and reboots him, recognizing him as the courier droid that had helped the ghost crew. Kallus had intended on simply freeing the droid, smuggling him off the outpost he had been discarded our from and to a different planet, maybe giving him the chance to meet the rebels again or find a place he can be happy in. He's surprised when the droid insists on staying with him.
And, so there's a common (ish) headcanon of how zeb has poor facial recognition. Actually horrid. I enjoy the headcanon, but also. In the rebels comics, Zeb very quickly recognized 264 as the droid they had nabbed and that had helped them. So I find humor in the possibility that Zeb possibly had poor facial recognition when it comes to non-droids, but is able to recognize every droid he has ever met, even if it was only once.
And yes, 264 is going to immediately get on Kallus’s case on asking the handsome rebel out. (264 is enamored by both Kallus and Zeb for being some of the first ones to praise him in a long time. He immediately gets very protective over the both of them. But at the same time is ready to send them out the airlock if they keep doing a silly little dance around their feelings.)
-
And then, there's the prompt by @canonkalluzeb I utterly ADORE it so much and I already have like 7 pages of notes complied. I added to it just today. I am so excited about working on it.
I'll link the post, but it's Kallus oversees a prisoner transfer and he’s shocked and disgusted to find that the dangerous criminal is a toddler, a 3y/o lasat child.
He steals her and sets out to find Zeb, knowing that he probably knows of a safe place for misplaced lasat, but it's several months before he finds them.
-
Last, but not least,
The Aphelion Waltz
(Not everything that is stated in the linked post is set in stone, much of it is still up to change)
My baby. I'm putting so much work into this fic. I shake the bars of my enclosure daily because of this fic. It's going to be a while before we are able to start posting the story, and its going to be a long one with so much moving plot. There's main plot line, sub plots, dozens of characters, slow burn, murder mystery, politics, romance. And this one is going to be explicit, but we might make a lighter version after we completed the main story. But this fic is going to have so many heavy contents. It's probably going to be one of our most complex endeavors, but I very much look forward to it.
---
I'm down for answering any questions about any of the fics at any point in time.
