10 Worst Things About The Trump Presidency
Donald Trump left office with the lowest approval rating of any president ever. But some people now seem to be suffering from amnesia.
Let me jog your memory. Here are 10 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency — in no particular order.
#1. Trump fueled division and sparked a record uptick in hate crimes.
#2. Murder went way up under Trump. He presided over the largest ever single-year increase in homicides in 2020. A number of factors might have contributed to that, but a big one is…
#3. Gun sales broke records under Trump, who has bragged about how he “did nothing” to restrict guns as president in spite of…
#4. Under Trump, America suffered more than 1,700 mass shootings.
#5. Trump said there were "very fine people" among the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville.
I’m halfway to ten. If you think I’m missing something big, leave it in the comments.
#6. Trump allied himself with the Proud Boys, a violent hate group who helped orchestrate the Jan 6 Capitol attack.
#7. Trump’s not wrong when he says…
TRUMP: I got rid of Roe v. Wade.
It is entirely because of Trump’s judicial appointments that 1 in 3 American women of childbearing age now lives in states with abortion bans.
#8. One of Trump’s Supreme Court justices was Brett Kavanaugh, a man accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
#9. Trump’s White House interfered in the FBI’s investigation of Brett Kavanaugh’s alleged sexual assaults.
And now: #10. Trump has been convicted of committing 34 felonies while in office. The criminally false business filings he got convicted for in New York? All of them were committed while he was president.
I’m sorry, did I say the 10 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency? I meant 15.
#11. Trump’s failed pandemic response is estimated to have led to hundreds of thousands of needless deaths. By the time Trump left office, roughly 3,000 Americans were dying of covid every day. That’s a 9/11-scale mass casualty event every single day. How did Trump screw up so badly?
#12. Trump’s White House discarded the pandemic response playbook that had been assembled by the Obama administration.
#13. Trump disbanded the National Security Council’s pandemic response team.
#14. Trump repeatedly lied about the danger of covid, saying it was no worse than the flu or that it would go away on its own.
But behind closed doors, Trump admitted he knew covid was deadly.
#15. Trump promoted fake covid cures like hydroxychloroquine and even injecting people with disinfectants.
After Trump’s “disinfectant” remarks, poison control centers received a spike in emergency calls.
That’s fifteen things. Should I keep going? Ok, I’ll keep going. The 20 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency.
#16. Trump presided over a net loss of 2.9 million American jobs — the worst recorded jobs numbers of any U.S. president in history.
#17. Trump profited off the presidency, making an estimated $160 million from foreign countries while he was president.
#18. Trump also billed the Secret Service over $1 million for the privilege of staying at his golf clubs and other properties while they protected him. That’s your money!
#19. Trump caused the longest government shutdown in U.S. history when he didn’t get funding for his border wall, which he said Mexico was going to pay for.
#20. Under Trump, the national debt increased by about 40% — more than in any other four-year presidential term — largely because of his tax cuts for the rich and big corporations.
You didn’t really think I was stopping at 20, did you? We’re going to 25 —
#21. Trump separated more than 5,000 children from their parents at the border, with no plan to ever reunite them, putting babies in cages.
#22. The Muslim Ban. Yes, Trump really did try to ban Muslims from entering the country.
#23. Trump sparked international outrage by moving the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem while closing the U.S. mission to Palestine.
#24. Trump tasked his son-in-law Jared Kushner with drafting a potential Middle East “peace plan” with zero Palestinian input.
#25. And finally, Trump recognized Israel’s occupation of the Goh-lahn Heights, which is considered illegal under international law.
So there you have it, folks: The 25 Worst — Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Did I mention the impeachments? We’ve got to do the impeachments. Let’s go to 30.
#26. Trump broke the law by trying to withhold nearly $400 million of U.S. aid for Ukraine in an effort to extort a personal political favor from Ukraine’s Pres. Zelensky. Trump wanted Zelensky to interfere in the 2020 election by announcing an investigation into the Bidens. Delaying this aid to Ukraine weakened Ukraine and strengthened Russia.
#27. Trump personally attacked and ruined the careers of everyone who stood in the way of his illegal Ukraine scheme, including Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman.
#28. To cover up the scheme, Trump ordered the White House and State Department to defy congressional subpoenas.
#29. For these reasons, on December 18, 2019, Trump became the third U.S. president to be impeached. He was charged with Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress.
#30. Even while he was being investigated for trying to get Ukraine to interfere in the U.S. election, Trump publicly called for China to interfere in the election.
So those are the 30 Worst Things —
I’ll go to 35.
#31. Long before Election Day, Trump started making false claims that the election would be rigged.
#32. After losing, Trump falsely claimed the election was stolen, even though his own inner circle, including his campaign manager, White House lawyers, and his own Justice Department and attorney general told him it was not.
#33. Trump kept telling his Big Lie even after more than 60 legal challenges to the election were struck down in court, many by Trump-appointed judges.
#34. Trump ordered the Department of Justice to falsely claim that the election “was corrupt.”
#35. Trump and his allies used threats to pressure state leaders in Arizona and Georgia to falsify the election results.
We may go to 40.
#36. When none of the previous schemes worked, Trump and his allies produced fake electoral votes cast by fake electors in multiple swing states. His former White House chief of staff and Rudy Giuliani are among the many members of his inner circle who have been criminally indicted for this scheme.
#37. Trump tried to bully Vice President Pence into obstructing the certification of the election.
#38. Trump invited a mob to the Capitol on Jan 6 with his “be there, will be wild” tweet.
#39. Sworn testimony alleges that when Trump was warned that members of the crowd were carrying deadly weapons, he ordered security metal detectors to be taken down.
#40. Knowing the crowd had deadly weapons, he ordered them to go to the Capitol and…
TRUMP: …fight like hell.
#41 — Yes, yes, I know, bear with me.
Trump betrayed his oath to defend the nation by doing nothing to stop the Jan 6 violence. Instead, according to witness testimony, he sat and watched TV for hours.
#42. On January 13, 2021, Trump became the only president ever to be impeached twice. This time he was charged with incitement of insurrection. It was a bipartisan vote.
#43. The majority of senators — 57 out of 100 — voted to convict Trump, including 7 Republican senators.
So that’s the two impeachments and the Big Lie, but wait, we haven’t dealt with Russia, right? So we’re going to 50.
#44. In a likely obstruction of justice, Trump pressured then FBI Director James Comey to stop the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn. This was documented in the Mueller report.
#45. When Comey didn’t bend to Trump’s will, Trump fired him.
#46. Trump tried to shut down the Mueller investigation by ordering White House Counsel Don McGann to fire Mueller. McGann refused because that would be criminal obstruction of justice.
#47. When news got out that Trump tried to fire Mueller, Trump repeatedly told McGann to lie — to Mueller, to press, to public — and even create a false document to conceal Trump’s attempt to fire Mueller.
#48. Trump ordered his staff not to turn over emails showing Don Jr. had set up a meeting at Trump Tower before the 2016 election with representatives of the Russian government.
#49. Trump convinced Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about Trump’s plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, and Cohen served prison time for lying to Congress.
#50. Trump was not charged for criminal obstruction of justice because it’s the Justice Department’s policy not to indict a sitting president, but more than a thousand former federal prosecutors who served under both Republicans and Democrats, signed a letter declaring there was more than enough evidence to prosecute Trump.
So those are the 50 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency. Now I could go on…
And I will! The 75 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency.
#51. Trump said he’d hire only the best people, but…
His campaign chair was convicted of multiple crimes.
So was one of his closest associates.
His deputy campaign chair pleaded guilty to crimes.
So did his personal lawyer
His National Security Adviser
The Chief Financial Officer of his business
A campaign foreign policy adviser
And one of his campaign fundraisers.
They all committed crimes, and Trump pardoned most of them.
#52. Trump said he’d drain the Washington swamp. But he appointed more billionaires, CEOs, and Wall Street moguls to his administration than any administration in history
#53. Trump intervened to get his son-in-law, Jared Kushner top-secret clearance after he was denied over concerns about foreign influence.
#54. Trump hosted a Russian Foreign Minister to the Oval Office, where Trump revealed top-secret intelligence.
Oh, and Trump’s economic policies!
#55 Trump promised that the average American family would see a $4,000 pay raise because of his tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations. How’d that work out? Did you get a $4,000 raise? Of course not! Nobody did!
#56. Trump vowed to protect American jobs, but offshoring increased and manufacturing fell.
#57. Trump said he would fix America’s infrastructure, but it never happened. He announced so many failed “infrastructure weeks” they became a running joke.
#58. Trump said he would be “the voice” of American workers, but he filled the National Labor Relations Board with anti-union flacks who made it harder for workers to unionize.
#59. Trump’s Labor Department made it easier for bosses to get out of paying workers overtime, which cheated 8 million workers of extra pay.
#60. Trump repeatedly suggested he might serve more than two terms in violation of the Constitution — and continues to do so.
#61. Trump called Haiti and African nations “shithole” countries.
#62. Trump tried to terminate DACA, which protects immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. Luckily this was struck down by the courts.
#63. Trump called climate change a “hoax.”
#64. Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement.
#65. Trump rolled back more than 100 environmental protections.
#66. Every budget Trump proposed included cuts to Social Security and Medicare.
#67. Trump tried (and failed) to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would have resulted in 20 million Americans losing insurance. And striking down the ACA’s protections for the roughly 130 million people with pre-existing conditions could have driven up their insurance premiums or led to a loss of coverage.
#68. Trump made it easier for employers to remove birth control coverage from insurance plans.
#69. By the end of Trump’s term, the number of people lacking health insurance had risen by 3 million.
#70. Trump lied. Constantly. He made 30,573 false or misleading claims while president — an average of 21 a day, according to Washington Post fact-checkers.
#71. Trump allegedly took hundreds of classified documents on his way out of the White House, reportedly including nuclear secrets, which he then left unsecured in various parts of Mar-a-Lago, including a bathroom. He was even caught on tape showing them off to people.
#72. Trump seriously discussed the idea of nuking a hurricane.
#73. When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, Trump delayed $20 billion of aid and allowed Puerto Rico to be without power for 181 days.
#74. Trump suggested withholding federal aid for California wildfire recovery and said the solution was to “clean” the “floors” of the forest.
#75. Trump pulled out of the Iran deal, placing Iran on a path to developing nuclear weapons.
Honestly, there’s so much more, from exchanging “love letters” with North Korea’s brutal dictator to publicly denigrating a Gold Star military widow and making her cry, to the way he attacked journalists, to late night tweet binges.
Look, I can understand why a lot of people want to block all of this out of their memories. But we cannot afford to forget just how terrible Trump’s time in the White House was for this nation.
And we sure as hell can’t afford to put him back there.

Absolutely. M!reader deserves his Prince charming! It's gonna be lovey dovey!!
TW: SA MENTIONED
Cw: smut, attempted kidnapping/ success kidnapping
Tumblr media
You had been working for Prince Casper for a few months now after escaping from Prince Roe and his horrible treatment. You were very cautious about working for Casper as you had no clue how he'd treat you but you were definitely shocked went he asked you to do reasonable things like bring his coffee or tea, help him with moving things or even keep him company while you cleaned his office. You'd come to realise Casper actually valued his servants and staff and treated them with respect which you didn't get with Prince Reo.
You were cleaning the windows in Casper's office as he sat at his desk reading. But he was mainly looking at you with a loving smile on his face, he'd always appreciated how you were always so attentive to everything you did. He came up behind and made you sit down saying you needed a break that you were working yourself too hard. You reluctantly agreed and sat down for a bit...until you got bored after 5 minutes and went back to work which Casper wasn't happy about. It was that day you realised he cared about you more that prince reo ever did.
He soon got closer to you. And finally demanded. As nicely as he could that you'd go on a date with him. You obviously said yes. You'd never reject someone as kind and loving as casper. So the two of you went on a simple picnic date in the gardens, it was beautiful. The flowers everywhere, Casper being so loving and warm to you....soon you we put as his personal maid. Then you were his boyfriend, then his fiancee and now his husband and second king of the kingdom next to him.
When Reo found out...Holy hell his kingdom heard all about it. He put serval bounties out for your kidnapping but failed either because you kicked ass or Casper was around or guards. He was mega pissed that he kidnapped you himself. He did whatever he wanted to you....you sobbed and pleaded for him to stop that you felt like you were betraying your husband...he didn't care. When casper stormed the casper and found him on top of you, your mouth gagged and your hands tied to the bed with reo onto of you fucking you....he saw red. He dragged reo off you, untied you and as you were getting dressed dragged the naked Prince out into Reo's kingdom's courtyard and beheaded him. And everyone was glad to be rid of that disgusting monster.
When casper brought you home he kissed you and cuddled you for days and gave you everything you needed to heal. It took awhile for the nightmares to stop but they did eventually.
And during that time casper let you fuck him to distract you and give you control of that sort of thing after what reo did. And you both liked it so much it became a sort of therapy for you. When you had bad or off days casper was their under his desk as you sat in his chair with him sloppily sucking your cock. Spit and cum dripping down his mouth and chin onto the soft red carpets. And you couldn't be more happier with your life.
Tumblr media
I fucking did it!!! I finally finished it after 2 weeks and a half!!!!! I tagged it as Yandere as I want Casper to be one after he beheads Reo as he'd do anything for his husband even killing half the kingdom who wrongs him

"They won't get rid of ___"
"He won't be able to do that, don't worry"
"It's in the constitution, he won't be able to change it"
"Even if he does try, it has to pass so many other levels of government. It'll never happen"
THATS WHAT YALL SAID ABOUT ROE V WADE and look where that got us.
He will take away so many peoples rights. He will do whatever it takes to keep his power over the country. He does not care about any of you. He doesn't give a fuck about the people in this country or in any other countries. He will destroy Gaza. He will destroy Ukraine. He will start wars. He will kill thousands of people, and I hope that anybody who decided that they didn't need to vote, or decided that voting 3rd party so you could feel morally superior understands that this is entirely your fault.

Holy shit that's a lot to go through but let's do it. First thing that got my attention was the fact that apparently the only purpose postmenopausal women have is to take care of grandchildren, really showing how he views women, remember Trump is trying to potray himself as a moderate on abortion issues even though he championed getting rid of Roe V Wade so this doesn't help. Secondly is the fact that Vance recognizes the issue of high childcare costs but then drops the ball by claiming the problem is certification and regulations which the article points out isn't really an issue. Not only that he claims we need to make childcare eaiser but then decries universal childcare as "class war against normal people" which what the fuck does that mean?!!! A universal childcare system would solve the issues involved with high costs and ensure equal access for everyone, but apparently the real solution is to just make grandparents help out which will 'definitely' fix the systemic issues. On top of that the elderly are facing their own crisis with not having enough to retire, if they're stuck working until they die I don't think they can just help babysit if they're working or in poverty. It's clear JD Vance is so stuck in his conservative ways he can't fathom a solution that doesn't involve a traditional family structure or unregulated capitalism. Remember he's Trump's VP, he is who Trump picked with full intent and authority. Remember to vote blue and keep Trump out of office, otherwise this jackass will be our Vice President.

Dean Obeidallah at The Dean's Report:
Flash forward to 2024. We are confronted with Donald Trump--an aspiring authoritarian--who like Hitler led a failed coup but then pivoted to use democracy to destroy the Republic. And like with Mein Kampf in the 1930’s, today we are faced with an equally sinister political manifesto called, “Project 2025.” It’s formal name, though, should be “Donald Trump’s Project 2025” because everything about it is Trump and MAGA. [...]
Project 2025 is not hiding the goal of turning their ideas into policy as stated in the opening of the manifesto: “It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on Day One of the next conservative Administration.”
To that end, Project 2025 has created a Presidential Administration Academy to train people in advance so they can be ready to impose the Project 2025 policy agenda once Trump wins.  From there, Project 2025 lays out the 180-day playbook that articulates the policies that they will work to impose in the first six months of Trump’s Reich.  Here are just a few of policy examples which are obviously taken right from Trump: 1.     Making the President a king. The GOP Supreme Court obviously beat Project 2025 to this goal with their recent ruling that a President is literally above the law—as Trump requested of them. But in the case of Project 2025, the focus is not avoiding criminal prosecution, it’s about placing the entire federal bureaucracy, including independent agencies such as the Department of Justice, under the direct control of the President. This is 100% in line with Trump’s stated goals in this campaign. 2.     Ending civil service protections to ensure only those loyal to Trump/MAGA are in control. This is literally reinstating a Trump-era executive order that makes federal employees fireable at-will, stripping tens of thousands of employees of civil service protections. In other words, Trump can fill his administration with people loyal to him above the Constitution. 3.     Banning abortion and access to certain birth control. This is part of the Christian nationalist agenda of Project 2025 and can be achieved by Trump ordering his FDA to reverse approval of abortion drugs. But let’s not play games, their goal is a total national abortion ban where women are forced to carry a fetus to term against their will. If a GOP controlled Congress passed a national abortion ban, we know Trump will sign it given he has repeatedly told us “I’m the one that got rid of Roe v. Wade” and how “honored” he was to do so. 4.     Rolling back protections for LGBTQ people: Project 2025 wants to end LGBTQ workplace discrimination protections so that bigots can more easily fire people from that community. In addition, they are calling for reinstating a transgender military ban as well stopping what it considers the “toxic normalization of transgenderism” across American society. As a reminder, in Trump’s first term, he “initiated a sustained, years-long effort to erase protections for LGBTQ people” as the ACLU detailed.  And Trump has vowed to do exactly what Project 2025 is calling for by rolling back Biden protections for the LGBTQ community. 5.     Climate change: The plan’s proposals include ending existing climate programs and increasing reliance on fossil fuels. Project 2025 also advocates disbanding various bureaucratic offices related to renewable energy and climate science. Trump--who has repeatedly called climate change a “hoax”--as president rolled back Obama era regulations to address the issue. And if elected, he has pledged to do exactly what Project 2025 laid out—even recently telling oil executives that point blank in exchange for donations. There are also detailed policies that line up perfectly with Trump’s other proposals from extreme anti-immigration proposals intended to keep America white to ending diversity and equity programs to shutting down the Department of Education so that GOP states can they implement education that is literally political and religious indoctrination to tax cuts for the wealthy. This is exactly what Trump has championed and is literally on his website as “Agenda 47.”
Dean Obeidallah wrote this gem on his Dean’s Report Substack column: Project 2025 is the modern-day version of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf, as the GOP wants to turn the USA into a fascist state like Hungary.
Trump can disavow Project 2025 all he wants, but in reality, he had a large imprint into it.

Since Black People share zero blame about what happened in the election and why Trump won again; let’s do a master post on who’s to blame as to why Trump won again:
1. White people. They are never to be trusted to actually pay attention to shit so they will believe anything anyone tells them to. If someone is promising to get rid of anyone who’s not white; white people will vote for that candidate. White men vote for violence and white women vote in hopes to be like white men. I mean, Roe V Wade SHOULDVE been important …until I remember those stories from nurses at Planned Parenthood mentioning how obnoxious white women are about the service. White people who are actual allies are very rare and they know if they admitted to being hateful; they’d be all alone watching Fox News.
2. The mainstream media. MSNBC, CNN, Bill Maher, John Oliver, Jon Stewart ( the biggest douchefuck), Chris Hayes, Anderson Cooper, Joy Reid, among others (who I can’t name because I refuse to hate-watch their media). They spent all their fucking time bashing Biden and the Democrats. They let the lunatic leftists have a platform and they treated Trump like he’s no threat until it was way too late. They figured it’s better for their audiences to not take what Trump did in 2016-2020 seriously and just be mean towards Biden, Harris and the Democrats who actually work towards better.
Any one of these jokers could’ve taken an actual stand and report actual news about Biden but once Covid got calmer thanks to Biden and the White House became boring again because the Biden Administration was busy ACTUALLY WORKING; it just wasn’t enough for them. Once they knew leftists also found another cause they could hijack for themselves to “ stick it to the Dems” they also let these fuckers on their show to help spread more lies about the Democrats. But nope! They latched onto the “ Free Palestine” movement and sold that shit, knowing full fuckin well that it’s not America’s problem about the conflict and Biden and Harris were making sure to get a two state solution.
Their buyers remorse media is not cute and they are only doing this because they know they are a major reason why Trump won again. They’re also scared of retaliation so they’re going to act like they “ regretted it” and that Biden “ wasn’t so bad” while not ever really apologetic but their audiences will eat it up.
3. Nonblack PoC. Latino, Asian/ Pacific Islander community ( I’m not even shocked. I’m apart of this group and they love antiblackness), Arab Americans ( Rashida Tlaib is antiblack but because leftists are stupid; they couldn’t see something so obvious). The desperation to be accepted by white people and also the xenophobia in all these communities had them voting for Trump. They have the “ I’m one of the good ones” mentality and well they’re about to see that antiblackness and xenophobia has screwed themselves .
4. Social media websites letting misinformation spread, and I include tumblr since yet again this happened. I appreciate that X has a community note and people tried to fight it but it was just way too great. Too many bots were getting through. Facebook, tumblr, Twitter, TikTok, likely Instagram as well. And once the elections are over; it’s like they treat the election interference shit like it didn’t happen.
5. Leftists. As usual, since they’re bored and rich, they do this protesting “ the establishment” every four years because they don’t want to pay their fair share of taxes. They went right along with the Free Palestine bullshit because it has worked for them before. Susan Sarandon , remember her? She helped fuck over 2000 as well as 2016 and let the GOP into the White House. Since leftist includes being racist/antiblack and antisemitic; it’s a great way to get more stupid white people to not vote or “ protest vote” and help the GOP win. Now that they have; we won’t see the likes of Jill Stein or any third party candidates. They are only around to help fuck over the Democrats and yet this lesson seems to have to keep being repeated and holy fuck it’s fucking annoying.
6. Nancy Pelosi. I know I haven’t said much but she wanted Biden to step down. She wanted an open Democratic primary to get a new candidate and to go right past Kamala Harris. Her bullshit has been known for awhile, especially if you live in the Bay Area. People forgot because of Covid and because of the whack job who attacked her husband. But remember; she’s also Gavin Newsom’s aunt and well…do with that what you will. If Democrats have any chance at getting their base back; Pelosi needs to step aside and let Hakeem Jeffries be Speaker. Pelosi knew damn well if it was not Kamala Harris; Black People would not show up but she is a white woman first so of course she did what she did. And for her to act like Biden was too old when she’s in the same age group was even more moronic since he won against Trump the first fuckin time
7. antisemitism also played a huge part. Remember Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is Jewish so if it wasn’t antiblackness; antisemitism was also at play here. Even though people won’t say it just like they won’t say their true reasons why they didn’t vote for Kamala Harris. Jewish People were the only allies along with the lgbt community who overwhelmingly voted for Kamala Harris. Every group has knuckleheads but the knuckleheads were extremely smaller than everyone else.
8. The Squad members. AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Jayapal, Cori Bush, Summer Lee and Jamaal Bowman. It’s time to get rid of these idiot DSA morons and the fact that Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman are out is awesome. They always wanted to fuck over the Democrats because they want to appear like they’re activists while they really just sell “ someday it’ll be better” while making $176K a year. They need the GOP in charge so they can coast in the House. Too bad leftists don’t get that.
So now that we all know who’s to blame; maybe now take some fuckin responsibility and hope to fucking heaven that Trump won’t have SCOTUS overturn shit but who are we kidding? With Elon Musk around; a lot of things will be rolled back but let’s see if people learn anything from it. Oh who am I kidding ?
Oh and thinking of moving to Canada? Lmao Justin Trudeau already went “ AHT AHT”. Best believe other countries are already following suit so y’all are going to be owning up to who you voted for lol.
But ya know, Biden was “ too old” and Harris was “ too joyful”

Chapter 5: Breaking Habits (The Prophecy)—A Band of Brothers Fanfic
Tumblr media
A/N: And we've officially crossed into show territory! Hopefully this is a fun chapter! I've been able to write quite a bit this week, which considering it was a midterm week, was a miracle haha! But as always, let me know what you think! The moodboard is for our girl Eileen :)
Winnie stood off to the side, Reba and Eileen at attention.  Now that spring was well underway, she found the heat more miserable than before.  Not that it was particularly hard to do that in Georgia of all places—in the swampy Toccoa of all places either.  Sobel was in a foul mood, as was his usual prerogative.
“You people are at the position of attention!” Sobel snapped, walking briskly through the rows of men.
“God, I’m glad that’s not us,” Reba mumbled, shifting her weight slightly.
Shooting her a sharp look, Winnie silenced her.  The last thing that they needed right now was for Winnie to get called out in front of the men for her nurses talking during Sobel’s inspections.  That was grounds for her to run Currahee with the rest of the men—and something that Sobel usually tried to ensure that she would be doing as the resident doctor amongst them.  Something about not wanting there to be an imbalance of power or some made-up bullshit.
Sobel came to a stop right in front of one of the men.  “Private Perconte, have you been blousing your trousers over your boots like a paratrooper?” Sobel demanded as Perconte held his gun up at attention.
“No, sir.”
“Then explain the creases at the bottom.”
“No excuse, sir.”
“Volunteering for the parachute infantry is one thing, Perconte.  But you’ve got a long way to prove that you belong here,” Sobel said harshly.  “Your weekend pass is revoked.”
Ah, it was one of those days.  Winnie caught Nix’s eye and gave a slight roll of her own eyes.  Sobel always seemed to be revoking weekend passes.  For everyone else, that presented more than one problem and seemed to leave everyone frustrated.  For Winnie though, she never had anywhere to be or anything to do.  In fact, most of her weekends were spent reading and brushing up on medical practices.
On the odd instance that Dick Winters didn’t have his weekend pass revoked, sometimes the two of them would get chatting about the men in the Company and the progress of the medics.  Eugene Roe had quickly risen to be her best medic she had trained and Winnie had full faith that he could handle whatever the war threw at him.
Still, Sobel’s slight reign of terror when it came to the weekend passes only served to annoy the nurses—who, in turn, had to interact with men from other companies with weekend passes.  And unfortunately, there wasn’t much around Toccoa to do.
“Name?”
“Luz, George,” Luz replied, handing over his gun to Sobel.
Sobel took his time inspecting it.  “Dirt in the rear side aperture.  Pass revoked,” he said, shoving the gun back into Luz’s hands.
The bugle began playing in the distance and Winnie let out a slight breath of annoyance.  She had always found it a waste of her time—and her nurses time—for them to be present for the inspections.  But she knew why Sobel was doing it; he liked to find any reason to pick her apart as a doctor.
And if he could do that, he could prove that she didn’t deserve to be here.  And if he could do that, he could prove that she wasn’t a good doctor and that the men needed someone else.  Essentially, he was trying his damn best to get rid of her.  Fortunately for Winnie, she was used to men trying to oust her from their ranks—whether it be the medical field or the military.
Every time that they stood at attention, Winnie was prepared, come night or day.  Her hair was always patted down to the last hair, uniform never askew, and never had anything that would give him cause to call her out.  She had learned her lesson—back in the first week of Easy Company’s training and after their first run of Currahee.  Sobel had found a singular strand of hair out of place from her bun and called her sloppy for a doctor.  And then she had been scrubbing toilets for a week in her spare time.
She wasn’t anxious to repeat the process.
Sobel came to a stop in front of one of the sergeants, a frown on his face.  “When did you sew on these chevrons, Sergeant Lipton?”
“Yesterday, sir.”
“Long enough to notice this,” Sobel said, plucking a seemingly non-existent flaw off of the patch.  “Revoked.”
“Sir.”
“Name.”
“Malarkey, Donald G.”
“Malarkey?  Malarkey’s slang for bullshit, isn’t it?” Sobel demanded.
At that, Eileen couldn’t help the fact that she gave a little snicker and Winnie felt Sobel’s gaze snap over to her.  “Damn it,” Winnie breathed out in annoyance.  He’d be over to them in a few moments, she was sure of it.
“Yes, sir.”
Sobel took Malarkey’s gun from him, inspecting it furiously and quickly.  “Rust on the butt plate hinge spring, Private Bullshit.  Revoked.” He took a few steps to the side, eyes landing on another soldier.  “Name.”
“Liebgott, Joseph D, sir.”
Simply pulling the bayonet from his pack, Sobel let out a sigh.  “Rusty bayonet, Liebgott.  You wanna kill Germans?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Not with this,” Sobel stepped out in front of the group.  “I wouldn’t take this rusty piece of shit to war and I will not take you to war in your condition!  Now thanks to these men and their infractions, every man in the Company who had a weekend pass has lost it.  Change into your PT gear, we’re running Currahee.”
“Nice going,” Reba elbowed Eileen.  “Now Winnie’s gonna get it.”
Sobel had taken a few steps forward, gaze falling onto the nurses with slight distaste.  “You two are dismissed.”
“Go work on the tests we were planning on giving,” Winnie insisted, gaze sharp on the nurses.
As soon as they were out of earshot, Sobel’s voice dropped an octave.  “Are you trying to undermine me?”
“No, sir,” Winnie replied honestly and coolly.
“It sure as hell seems like you are.  Get your nurses in line or I swear to God, you’ll run Currahee every day.”
Winnie just straightened up, looking him in the eyes.  “They’ll be in line.”
“No use of ‘sir’,” Sobel observed.  “You’re running Currahee today too.”
“Yes, sir.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Being the sole woman in the camp to run Currahee had earned Winnie a very specific reputation.  With some of the men, Winnie was aware that it was an impressive feat and proved that she could, in fact, keep up with them—so therefore, she must have some merit as a doctor.  With others though, like Sobel, there was a certain air of smugness about the situation.
She was entirely sure it was because of her legs being on display with the shorts of the PT gear—and considering that most of these men hadn’t seen a woman’s legs in months, she couldn’t say altogether that she blamed them.
Still, she was annoyed.  Annoyed because Sobel pulled this kind of shit at every given opportunity.  That first week that it had happened, Winnie had ran up Currahee all by herself—hadn’t allowed anyone to run with her, hadn’t allowed anyone to talk to her, hadn’t allowed a single man to be near her, and that included Sobel.
The second time that it had happened, Winters had come to run by her.  She hadn’t altogether minded that—and she wondered if he had done it because he just really was that good and kind of heart.  Now though, Winnie knew that it was exactly the case.
Winters wasn’t a blind man.  He saw how some of the men in the Company reacted to it all, and he knew that the only way to offset such behavior was to run near her.  As a consequence, so had Eugene Roe—after all, that was his superior officer, a doctor—and a damn good teacher, if he did say so himself.
So as they began their next run, Winnie kept in pace with Winters and Roe, a steady expression on her face.  The catcalling was just a part of life, she could deal with it—she always had been dealing with it.
“You know,” Winters huffed out as they ran.  “You could probably talk to Sink about this—about you having to run.”
“And let Sobel think he’s won?” Winnie breathed out.  “Not a damn chance.”
The stubborn streak in Doctor Winnie Allen brought a small smile to Winters’ face.  The simple fact of the matter was that he respected the hell out of her for being here at all.  She was tough—most of the men actively disliked having to interact with her because of how cold and tough she was on them during medic training activities with the rest of the Company.
But Nix had been right—she was a good ally to have here in the Camp.  She knew what was going on before most of them did.  She tended to watch the men carefully and usually knew about injuries as quickly as they occurred.  Speaking of which—
Hearing Sobel shout to not help a man caused Winnie to sprint on ahead, gaze landing on one of the guys in the Company.  “What happened?” Winnie asked, running in line beside the group.
“Muck’s ankle,” Malarkey explained.
“I don’t need a doctor!” Muck exclaimed.
Knowing full well how Sobel worked, Winnie just let out an annoyed huff of air.  The last thing that this man needed was to keep running with an injured ankle.  He’d be out for the next two weeks otherwise.  But she also knew full well that Sobel would make life a living hell for both her and Muck.  She needed to assess quickly and without disrupting the current situation.
“Is it a cramp or did you land wrong on it?” Winnie asked.
“Landed wrong,” Muck breathed out heavily, continuing to keep pace with some slight help from Malarkey.
“Try to keep most of your weight when you run focused on the toes rather than the whole heel,” Winnie advised.  “That should help counterweight some of the pain—until you can get down the hill and see my nurses.”
Muck gave a half-concentrated nod, trying out the suggestion.  He gave a slight glance of surprise as the weight shifted and the pain eased slightly.  “That’s a little better!” He called as she pushed onwards.
A few moments later, Roe appeared at her side, face flushed with the run.  “Who?” He questioned in a breathless tone.
“Muck.  He’ll be okay till we get back,” Winnie said.  “Ankle issues.  You’re gonna wrap the foot.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
By the time that they had reached the summit, they were coming up on 28 minutes and Sobel was less than pleased with the progress.  By the time they were down the summit, he was even less enthused than before.  But all the same, he dismissed them to their various training schedules and that left Winnie heading back towards the medical hut.
She had only arrived a few moments before Malarkey came dragging Muck in, Roe hot on their heels.  “He can barely walk, Doc!” Roe exclaimed.
Winnie just gave a huff of air and gestured for them to sit him down.  Muck looked frustrated at the situation, not that she could blame him.  As soon as he was off of his feet though, he had a look of slight relief.  “Alright, inspect the ankle, Roe.”
Roe gave a nod, removing the sock and shoe off of Muck’s right foot.  The ankle was starting to swell ever so slightly.  Roe ran a hand over it, gaze searching and inspecting for a minute. “Now wait just a minute–” Muck mumbled.  “Can’t I get a real Doctor to look at it?”
“You’re looking at your real Doctor,” Winnie gave a false wide smile at him, gesturing to Roe.  “Prognosis?”
“It’s not broken.  Just twisted.”
“And the grade?”
“Maybe 1?” Roe guessed.
Winnie gave a proud nod.  “Exactly my thoughts,” she said, glancing back at Muck.  “You should rest and try to stay off of your feet for a bit.  I’ll get you a note. The pain should get better once you’re off of it.”
“How long till he’s better?” Malarkey questioned, gaze flicking between her and Roe.
Gesturing at Roe, Winnie let him take the question.  “Could be a week, could be two or three.  Just depends on how fast it wants to heal and how much you stay off of it,” Roe replied in his thick accent.
“Great,” Muck mumbled in annoyance.  “Sobel’s gonna love this.”
“Sobel’s not gonna give you shit about it or he’s gonna answer to me,” Winnie replied sternly, handing Roe some bandages to wrap the foot with.
At that, Malarkey’s eyes went wide.  “Well you’re not exactly—”
“I’m not exactly what?” Winnie demanded, hands straying to her hips in annoyance.
“Never mind,” Malarkey mumbled.
“That’s what I thought,” Winnie retorted.  “Now be dears and get the hell out of my med hut.  I’ve had enough of you starin’ at my legs,” she said, shooing Malarkey and Muck out of the cabin.
“Sorry ‘bout them,” Roe mumbled, giving her a salute.
Winnie just gave a slight laugh, a humorless thing.  “Yeah yeah.  Now I believe you have a test to pass, so let’s say we get you goin’ on that.”
Say, I'm curious about somethings. So, you said multiple times that Superstition started off as a novel that had been with you for years, and that it would show Roe and Syd's romance as the canon, so that probably means you already had her whole personality and plot set when you started translating Superstition into an IF, right? But what about Chris? You said he was originally meant to die at the start of season 1, so did you have to come up with his entire personality, plots and arcs, likes and dislikes, etc, later or did you already have most of it ready during the novel era of Superstition, even though he wasn't meant to be a permanent character? What about Rahim and Zillah, since we do see them at the start of season 1 but only for a small fraction of a minute? Did they originally have their personalities and plots set in stone already? What about Amari and Chanara? Were they even going to be in Superstition at all? And the romances, was it hard coming up with them and making them as interesting and long as Roe x Sydero originally? Just curious about it because your characters have a real tangible personality and that's pretty rare 😂
Oooo okay. Everything but Chris' personality had to be created but it wasn't incredibly hard because I was just like "cool, how would your average person behave if thrown into this situation ... cool, Chris, my sweet baby boy, come over here real quick." Fun fact, Chris' dad is actually the original MC's dad. Damon Roe's mother had died and his dad was very strict (not AS strict as Chris' but enough to still give a rocky relationship).
Fun fact for Sydero's character as well, though everything is basically the same with her she originally was working with her father. When she found and helped Damon, she was going to try and get rid of him, reporting to her father that she found some stranger supernatural and asking what she should do. He tells her to not harm him and to keep an eye on him. Raum did not exist, nor did Langston and Petri.
Zillah was not in the original, closest thing I have to him is that in the original the guardian shade is given a second chance but I never got far enough to really bring him back in. Bradley was basically the same as he is now but older and wasn't actually part of the team, more just like an in and out character.
Rahim and Chanara's characters both pretty much the same, Chanara more so in the rewrite due to me actually giving her more screentime that will match up with her original mission.
Amari did not exist, I kinda stole some traits from a character named Angel in the original who, oh my gosh who would've guessed, she's an angel! But she was like a "guardian angel" and started as Damon's girlfriend, and tags along. She was a sweetheart but lied to Damon all day long. But otherwise Amari is pretty much just a character I created to give Team Chaos another hybrid.
Charles P. Pierce: Hard after Thursday night’s television debacle, the Supreme Court leaped in to destroy the separation of powers and, as Elie Mystal pointed out on Xwitter, to engage in the biggest power grab since Marbury v. Madison. Through the now-customary 6–3 vote delivered by the carefully manufactured conservative majority, the precedent of Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, aka the Chevron deference, is now as dead as Julius Caesar. And thus forty years of administrative law comes to a rude and abrupt end. The decision further illustrates that the dedication of the carefully manufactured conservative majority to corporate oligarchy is utterly unshakable, expertise—scientific and otherwise—be damned. Don’t believe me? Ask Chief Justice John Roberts, who wrote the majority opinion.
“Perhaps most fundamentally, Chevron’s presumption is misguided because agencies have no special competence in resolving statutory ambiguities. Courts do.”
So instead of career scientists deciding that the E. coli convention in your pork loin makes it inadvisable to eat, some twenty-two-year old law clerk fresh out of Regent University School of Law will. Bon appétit!
Getting rid of Chevron was one of the golden dreams of the country’s oligarchs and the judges and lawyers in their pay. Along with Roe v. Wade, it was number one on the conservative hit parade. But Justice Neil Gorsuch, whose concurrence is chock-full of the kind of tinhorn erudition so beloved by the carefully manufactured conservative majority, has perhaps a special reason to dance on Chevron’s grave. His mother, Anne Gorsuch, was hired by the Reagan administration to run the EPA—into the ground, apparently. From The Washington Post:
Anne Gorsuch—like Reagan then and President Trump today—was a firm believer that the federal government was too big, too powerful and too eager to issue regulations that restricted businesses. As a result, she slashed the EPA’s budget by nearly a quarter and, according to a Washington Post story at the time, boasted that she had reduced the thickness of the book of clean water regulations from six inches to a half inch. She filled various departments at EPA with subordinates recruited from the very industries the agency was supposed to be regulating.
By the end of her stint at EPA, Anne Gorsuch was under siege. A half dozen congressional committees were looking into allegations of mismanagement of the Superfund program, which was designed to clean up abandoned toxic waste sites around the country. The House voted to cite Gorsuch for contempt of Congress for failing to turn over subpoenaed records.
In addition to its dollar-store history, Gorsuch’s concurrence pretty much turns the concept of stare decisis into Silly Putty. Return with us now to those thrilling days of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Justice Neil Gorsuch, your host.
"Other consequences followed for the role precedent played in future judicial proceedings. Because past decisions represented something “less than a Law,” they did not bind future judges....At the same time, as Matthew Hale put it, a future judge could give a past decision “Weight” as “evidence” of the law....Expressing the same idea, William Blackstone conceived of judicial precedents as “evidence” of “the common law.” And much like other forms of evidence, precedents at common law were thought to vary in the weight due them."
Matthew Hale died in 1676. He was a notorious witch hunter and once argued that the existence of laws against witchcraft proved that witches existed. What the hell he has to do with PFAS pollution or workplace safety in a chicken plant is beyond me. But we live in his universe now, and Neil Gorsuch got his own back for his mom.
I know the Trump presidency didn't feel significantly shittier than Reagan or Nixon, but it's worth noting that his supreme court picks got rid of Roe V. Wade and his rhetoric directly led to Jan 6. It seems to me that he has embraced political violence in a way that Reagan or Nixon didn't quite dare to out in the open
January sixth was like. Obviously not good. But nothing happened! Some guys were in a building. Something COULD happen, at some point, but nothing happened then.
And like. Do you. Not remember Vietnam? Nixon was worse than trump
Listen, it’s not about letting Trump win, it’s about letting the Democratic Party know that they still have to earn your vote in order to affect their policy and their current stance on Palestine. Once they’re elected you can’t make them earn your vote anymore, so it’s important to hold that over their head before the elections.
Also, Kamala Harris is NOT “pro-Palestine” as long as she keeps repeating the “Israel has a right to defend itself” truism, and as along as she continues to talk of a ceasefire without doing anything to enforce it. This is not simply a matter of opinion or stance in the matter, the current United States government is a perpetrator of the violence and they need to be addressed as such.
Part of the reason why drawing a line on the sand with this issue is so important is that American liberalism has a history of elevating their own rights as worthy of pursuit while disregarding the way they themselves are complicit in the erosion of those said rights abroad. Leaders of the Civil Rights movement and the Black Panthers back in the sixties and seventies understood, for example, openly challenged and fought the Democrat Vietnam policy because they understood the hypocrisy of letting their rights come at the expense of people dying elsewhere.
“Vote blue no matter who” mentality creates complacency in officials seeking to be elected, it tells them they do not have to earn your vote. Living in a democracy is about making your voice heard and organizing accordingly, so please stop disparaging any efforts made to effectively challenge current policy and use that democratic power for an actual change.
First of all, I'd like to say thank you for being more respectful to me that some of these other Anons.
I will admit I lost my patience on them but when you've been getting harassed for months, it gets to you.
Now look, if we lived in a parallel universe where Project 2025 wasn't a thing and the person running against Kamala was an idiot like RFK Jr who doesn't seem to want to be a dictator, I'd probably agree more with the Non-Voting stance you all want to take although I'd never do it since I want to exercise my right to vote whenever I can but the reality is we don't. We have an unapologetic, lying, hateful evil RAPIST running for president. And I'm not sure if you're American or not but there's some people who downplay just how HORRIFIC his term was and the lasting ramifications of it. Here's the main consequences of him being in office:
Roe v Wade, Affirmative Action and the Chevron was overturned (stuff which was 50 years old that got lost after EIGHT YEARS).
I'm sorry but i am NOT INTERESTED in seeing what's next to go because of a Supreme Court Justice that he appointed. Especially since there'll be vacancies in the next couple of years and if he appoints MORE YOUNGER MAGA TYPE justices, the Supreme Court will be locked hard right for AT LEAST THIRTY YEARS.
Do you KNOW what will happen to this country at that point??
Now Trump has said when he gets back into office he wants to "restrict" the First Amendment:
And one of his Supreme Court dickriders Clarence Thomas was talking about getting rid of Loving V Virginia (the law that made Interracial dating LEGAL):
Tumblr media
So that's why I'm putting as MUCH of my effort into making sure Trump does NOT get back into office as much as I can. It's not that I don't care about Palestine (quite the contrary actually) but if we DON'T HAVE OUR RIGHTS HOW CAN WE HELP ANYONE ELSE?? I ask this and get crickets in response.
And Kamala IS Pro-Palestine. Don't forget this:
Tumblr media
And having her in office is WAY BETTER for Palestine that this clown that NOT ONLY SAID THIS:
And LITERALLY TRIED to SABOTAGE Kamala's chances at winning the election by conspiring with Natanyahu to HAVE NO ceasefires made:
Which I'd like to point out is in violation of the LOGAN ACT since normal people can NOT interfere in domestic affairs in other countries.
Tumblr media
To say they're the similar is uninformed ignorance at best or just willful lying at worse.
They're NOWHERE in the SAME BALLPARK.
It's not disparaging your efforts as it is just saying if we don't get Kamala, we get the rapist back in office who has talked NUMEROUS TIMES about a third term so I wouldn't be surprised if the ONLY way he leaves is in a bodybag.
(ASSUMING THE MILITARY STEPS IN AND DEALS WITH THEM AS THEY HAVE A MANDATE).
"Canadian history is boring" yeah you're right but also what if you were wrong. Let me tell a tale, friends, about a conspiracy theory that only Canadians over the age of 50 really know or care about. Let me tell a tale, friends, of the Avro Arrow and the tragic death of Canadian aerospace engineering.
The year was 1953. The production company was A.V. Roe Canada. At the time, Canada had only produced one commercial interceptor aircraft: the Avro CF-100 Canuck (lovingly referred to as the Clunk). It was...fine, I guess. It worked. But Canada was in the process of joining NORAD, and it was the geographic shield between the US and USSR: any bombers carrying nukes would cross Canadian airspace. The RCAF needed a bombing interceptor.
Enter the AVRO CF-105 Arrow.
You guys don't understand how awesome the Arrow was. It was SLEEK, it was MODERN, it was the PRIDE of a booming Canadian aerospace industry. It was the prototype fighter jet of its time, able to outcompete with American and British interceptors, and set to break both altitude and speed records. Canada was so proud of its aircraft that when the first prototype was ready, they expected a crowd of 13,000 to watch the first test (too bad Sputnik launched the same day). In 1955, even America wanted in (this was unheard of, since America prioritized its own aerospace above all, and rarely purchased planes it didn't make itself).
So where did the Arrow go?
We got rid of it. Sorry, not just got rid of it. We destroyed everything to do with it.
Now, what a lot of the public didn't understand was that the Arrow was expensive, and while it could have outcompeted the American Convair Delta Dart released in 1959, the plane would have been mid at best and defunct at worst by the time America improved on its own Mach 2 interceptor. What's more, ICBMs were becoming a thing, rendering interceptors in general relatively moot. The general consensus was clear: it wasn't worth the money to produce and improve. That was the excuse Prime Minister Diefenbaker (aka Dief the Chief, the anti-Kennedy, of Diefenbunker fame) used to order the end of the Avro Arrow program. This was understandable, generally.
What wasn't understandable was the death of everything to do with it. After unsuccessful attempts to sell the program to America and Britain, Diefenbaker ordered not only the closure of the program, but the complete scrapping of assembly lines, prototypes, classified documents, schematics: everything was destroyed. Only one Arrow went unaccounted for (some people think an air marshal stole it), but the rest were trashed. Allegedly, not a single intact prototype remains, only pieces and replicas on display.
Why would Diefenbaker do this? The conspiracies are endless. Some think a Soviet mole compromised the program and Diefenbaker ordered the complete destruction to prevent the Soviets from gaining this technology. Some people think the US manipulated intelligence to prevent Canadian aerospace from overtaking American aerospace. Sane people think that Canadian intelligence recognized a Soviet transition away from bomber planes, and acted sensibly, if a bit to the extreme.
What we do know is after the death of the Arrow, the Canadian aerospace industry basically collapsed overnight. About 15,000 engineers were now out of work, and many fled to the US to work for Boeing, Convair, NASA, and basically any other aerospace industry job they could find. Diefenbaker went on to have seriously funny beef with JFK, and the Avro Arrow was lost to the annals of aviation history. Rest in pieces, Avro Arrow.
I'm going to be completely honest here, if you think you have to vote for biden because trump got shot and it's going to ramp up his voters, you completely missed the point of both the shooting and Biden's chance of winning from the start
Biden was always going to lose. He's been losing in polls for months. I've seen people saying the polls are wrong and it's just sounding like literal blue MAGA nonsense. This presidency is going to be known as the one that broke trump's, gave up tracking the pandemic, and performing a genocide. Once again the blue no matter who crowd is pushing this "WHAT ABOUT PROJECT 2025" nonsense, and like, if you were *actually* concerned about it, maybe you could have taken the past 4 years to you know... actually do something to codify those things into law?
The biggest things in Biden's agenda were like... healthcare, student loans, LGBTQ rights, Roe V Wade, the Pandemic, and minimum wage... and he's done almost none of those? Or at the very least, he barely touched any of them to the point only certain groups could access it? We talk about trans rights under trump, but it was under Biden, and at least one of if not both of the House and Senate, where states started to ban HRT and trans people existing outside. He didn't stop 24!!! states from banning bets practice care for minors. Literally 1 away from half of the country already has fucking bans on HRT and medicine for minors. It's a FELONY to prescribe them in 6 states???
Roe V Wade is gone, the Supreme Court is still incredibly stacked, the pandemic is still here we're just pretending as a society it's not that bad, we never got a real stimulus check, student loans were only forgiven for a SMALL section of people... what the fuck are we talking about with him doing things?
And you know, the whole "Explicitly supporting Genocide by supporting the zionists?" We sent missiles with messages on them?? During the biden admin??????????? And honestly let's not forget all the *other* kids we've bombed, like how we bombed the middle east even before anyone in the US got that halfassed stimulus? I love the continued use of my tax money for war I need to remind some of y'all that yes, voting for trump is bad, but like, *so is voting for biden*. The dems had 4 years to make any sort of argument for why we should keep them in. They had 4 years to aggressively counter the fascism in this country. Instead, they decided to fuck around, increase Police funding, military funding, get rid of pandemic testing, forget about RvW and every queer person, and just push for the status quo. Kinda sucks that the status quo is literally fascism huh
Oliver Willis at Daily Kos:
The Harris-Walz campaign released a new ad on Wednesday featuring the story of a Texas woman who was denied access to an abortion under that state’s abortion ban—and almost died as a result. In the ad, Ondrea and her husband explain that at 16 weeks of pregnancy, her water broke and doctors informed them that their much-wanted baby would not survive. This happened in 2022, after the conservative majority on the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, triggering Texas’ abortion ban.
[...] The state’s ban would not allow Ondrea to have an abortion, and she later developed a septic infection that led to a six-hour emergency surgery. That resulted in a massive incision from her breast to her pelvis; she had to stay in the hospital for three weeks because the wound would not close. The couple allowed photos of the wound and footage of Ondrea’s scar to be shown in the ad. The ad juxtaposes the couple’s ordeal with audio of Trump bragging, “I am the one that got rid of Roe v. Wade.” Trump’s voice arguing in 2016 that “there has to be some sort of punishment” for an abortion also plays over footage of the thick scar bisecting Ondrea’s torso.
Kamala Harris released a powerful ad showing the horrors of abortion bans and their impacts on family planning.
