I actually can’t wait until Nevermovie stuff starts happening because I love keeping up with movies and stuff. It is sooo fun for me. I’ve been insane about Laika movies for the past 10 years and obsessively following the production/marketing/release about all their movies since Boxtrolls. the way franklin has silna's father's body disposed of in ep 3 is a really fascinating indication of how the english see the inuit to me.

because yeah, obviously it's incredibly disrespectful in ignoring the man's own burial traditions and even from an entirely english pov as a way to "bury" someone. but on top of that i find it very telling that they felt it was their place to bury him at all--if they truly didn't think he was worth the trouble, why not just give his body to silna?

they must have felt on some level they had a claim to his body and, perhaps in their seeing themselves as a last outpost of civilization, a duty to make sure it was taken care of. even though they clearly didn't care one bit about the man they were actually burying.

this moment is one of a few in the show where the english seem to assume, entirely without question, that they have authority over the arctic and the people in it. that just by virtue of being english they are naturally and immediately the highest (worldly) power present. which obviously betrays a deeply imperialistic worldview.

and in showing that insidious assumption of authority in interaction with more baldly racist disrespect and disregard towards a netsilik person, i feel this moments highlights the twofold superiority the english feel over the inuit: both as having an exclusive claim to power and as having an exclusive claim to personhood

if you had to put each of your detectives in a different genre (ex. historical romance, sci-fi, horror, etc) who would you put in which?

Surina Batra - Suri would absolutely go into a historical romance. I’ve had a lot of daydreams of placing her and Nate in some sort of story - but what kind of historical romance!! Shes definitely not one to want to follow the rules of the ladies on the marriage mart in the ton, so she might take on a sub genre role of a maid, a widow, or just more of a rebellious lady. The story would have great plot and development (of course something wild in the third act), and be full of desire, love, and steamy steam

Layla Yaseen - Layla would be in a mystery novel. One with a focus/lean on science and forensics, as her alternative career would to be some sort of physician. Of course, she would be paired up with someone as head strong as her, whose very presence presents a challenge, and there will be an undercurrent of romance. This story would have plenty of clues and red herrings to keep the reader engaged - more of a modern, updated Agatha Christie

Dinah Greene - Dinah would be in a story which is a mix of contemporary romance, dark humor, and horror. Her whole thing is being approachable on the outside, but being so sarcastic when one gets to talking to her that only a few people happen to make it in, and to those she is loyal to, even if she doesn’t exactly understand what the draw is. So, a funny sort of horror book and she makes several references throughout about how she is the final girl (spoiler alert, she is)

Penelope Lane - Penny would find herself in a hybrid fantasy and adventure story! Maybe or maybe not supernatural, it could lean towards The Ten Thousand Doors of January (an extension of our world) or Legends and Lattes (its own world, supernaturals) - which are two very different stories! Penny is friendly yet intimidating at first, and I think that’ll do her well as she proceeds along the excitement and plot (which lends you resilience in finding truth or opening up a new idea such as a coffee shop - against two very different stories!)

After much editing, the third chapter of "Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland" is up! Featuring Alice snatching a certain briefcase for Fat Larry; murdering a certain Russian mafia boss for Venus Dare; and questioning a certain homeless fellow to get more information on those plaguebearers. Plus dealing with everyone's favorite annoying ghoul Patty along the way. This one's a bit of a doozy -- I recommend you pace yourself!

idk why but i def see reader (still in the everything is fine universe) putting that cute photo of her and bakugou in the nursery and then sometimes getting a bit teary-eyed at what her life has become.

i also see bakugou being very over-protective when she's pregnant. he'd probably try to spend as much time as he can in the house, to be with her her.

fun question: do you think bakugou would be a bit misogynistic in the way that he'd want a son, or what would he feel if it was a girl?

soft moments are few and far between, so when she catches photos or memories of simpler times it goes one of two ways. smashing a frame or two in hysterical rage is not unheard of given how absolutely suffocating being the glorified housebound sex slave of a top pro hero can be.

but there’s also times when fond memories give her a fuzzy sort of nostalgia feeling, something just barely warm enough to keep her going, keep her pretending.
