I used to work somewhere similar.

Not a single week without a new problem being created and piling on top of the others, unsolved problems. Said unsolved problems include a few of my best anecdotes now that i left, but living through them definitely wasn't a fun time. I still shudder when i think of what the Hallway became every february...

When my friends, very concerned by what i told them, told me to quit, i found that, despite my enthusiasm when talking to them, i just couldnt submit my resignation. Every morning i'd hype myself up on the way, but every floor i went up, i'd feel more and more guilty for leaving my coworkers to deal with the shit show going on, or i'd suddenly think that it was actually very bearable and i had just been exaggerating to my friends.

Well, there was this spider that occupied all of the third floor, and i worked on the seventh, so every day i'd have to go through the webs (because of course that was the only floor with only stairs and no elevator) at least twice, often more because my stupid boss Frank kept asking me to get something or another in the lower floors. Dickhead. And the webs kept getting stuck in my hair and my clothes, just, yuck, disgusting stuff (at least i never had a run in with Donna, Linda had her arms stuck to her chest for, like, two weeks i think ? "Very unefficient when typing", Frank wrote in her review that month. Dickhead.).

I talked about that to one of my friends, who thought they'd heard something similar once and started looking it up. Turns out, it was all on purpose. The people working on the floors four and up had a very specific profile, highly sensitive to a drug that was secreted by Donna's webs that they used to isolate us and keep us here, on a laughable pay and horrendous work conditions. Always knew Frank was a cheapskate but that one was truly unexpected. Though maybe i should have been more suspicious when they asked for a blood sample at my interview. Maybe that should have been a red flag for an office job.

Once i found out, i had my friend submit my resignation via mail for me and started working with a lawyer that specializes in those cases because as it turns out, multidimensional offices often have a terrible retention rate and love to use very unethical ways to solve that problem.

Sorry, i guess i ended up venting a bit, but i just wanted to say that if nothing holds you back you definitely should leave. Your skillset WILL find another use somewhere, and if you find yourself unable to leave, contact a specialist and find out why as THIS IS NOT A NORMAL THING THAT JUST HAPPENS. I cannot stress this enough, i kept trying to talk to my ex coworkers but they were working here for so long they just shrugged it off and started telling me about the dark lord that invaded the left wing ???

The first step anyway is to make sure you have a support system outside of the office. I was starting to grow more and more distant when i finally managed to leave, and i know if I had been on my own I'd still be stuck there. So reach out, and take care of yourself !

working in a multidimensional office is absolute hell. and no I'm not talking about the gate to Hell on the sixth floor, I'm talking about how the bottomless pit in the break room hasn't been filled in or even covered over for three months. not even a plank of wood across it! it's just fucking sitting there in the break room, i had to get caution tape to rope it off after Jason nearly fell in (and lost us a whole box of blueberry muffins) and nobody's done anything about it? i accidentally dropped my lunch into the pit yesterday and fully considering diving in i literally hate it here

at the end of the day when it comes to padmé i think it’s really important to remember that her closest friends are literally her employees. her only other friends are her coworkers. her closest friend for years was a girl she met at 14 whose job it was to pretend to be her and potentially die about it. another friend with the same job died in her arms while pretending to be her. she does not have friends outside of her squad of employees who pretend to be her and sometimes die about it and then her politician coworkers. too many of you are way too surprised that this woman is not normal about love or relationships or her own self considering all this

watching leverage is truly a "giggling and kicking my feet" experience for me personally. it's genuinely such a fun show with such fun and compelling characters that i can't help but grin like an idiot at my screen when they do barely anything

Sae Niijima is such a good character it drives me insane a little. She's not a mother nor a maternal or doting older sister but instead a twenty four year old who was thrown into a position of responsibility that she never asked for. She loves Makoto just as much as she resents her and its so apparent every time they talk up until November. "Are you studying?" (I want you to do well) (I need you to get a job and stop making my life harder) "I'll use any method necessary to get this promotion" (Life will be easier for us) (So stop distracting me with your problems) "Focus on your future" (I know that you're capable) (I can't afford to waste my time on you, so stop wasting time on others)

Makoto is not only the sole reason she pushes as hard as she does for a promotion, for success, and the reason that she loses herself in her animosity over her fathers death, but also someone she can't stand for so long. Makoto was 14-15 when their father died. Sae was 21. As soon as she got the career she wanted and things started to look up, her stability was robbed from her and she was disillusioned with the system that her father had taught her to rely on and completely adhere to. How do you manage, the daughter of a cop, following his footsteps towards law enforcement, when you're suddenly reminded of how unfair it is? You can't quit, your little sister relies on you and she's so young and struggling just as badly with this grief. So you pick yourself up and you get moving again. You push harder, press further. You abandon your morals and your ethics because punishing criminals (guilty or not) is almost like punishing the man who killed your father.

And the whole time she's fighting for promotions, going for drinks with the SIU Director to make herself more favourable for promotions, trying to navigate being a woman in a competitive, suffocating, male-dominated field, falling behind despite doing so much where others are promoted for doing so little - all the while your little sister comes back from school and her biggest issues are so small compared to yours.

Persona 5 revolves so heavily around grief and loss and change and Sae embodies all of that so well, all of the sharp and unpleasant and jagged parts of grief.

sometimes the words ‘i love you’ don’t cut it out when it comes to replicating the emotion that your husband!satoru feels for you. the words ‘i love you’ don’t show his need for doing anything in the world to please you, no matter it’s difficulty. i love you doesn’t serve justice to the way he’d row his way to where the pacific and Atlantic meet and mix the oceans together, ignoring the differences in densities, or would split the moon in half with a click of a finger because a man can do anything the moment he witnesses your sugar sweet smile.

husband!satoru sometimes feels utterly disappointed when you refuse to let him spoil you, refuse to let him build a rocket out of his love and fly you both to the same moon that he talks to every night about you to the point that the moon would call your name, but don’t be surprised, just satorus antics.

can you blame the man for being obsessed with you though? you’re the only person who’s ever seen him for him. your the only person that teases him back, your smart ass reply’s take a lot of his will power to stop him from tossing you onto his shoulder and taking you straight to the bedroom.
