Hey, just wanted to say I really enjoy your art and my time-line hadn't been blessed with it for a while (the last time I checked you weren't doing so well) so I'm glad that you're doing better and can get back to expressing yourself through your gay dogs

Thank you for thinking of me! Yeah the latter half of last year was really challenging, a lot of unrelated things went awry all at once and I had to focus on fixing what I could and enduring the rest.

But things are going in the right direction now, I hope. I've been having a little bit more energy and willpower to draw lately, which has been a significant mental health booster, like it always is.

Pages from trying to keep a little sketchbook-scrapbook type thing going for two weeks lol. I gave myself specific rules in hopes they might all end up more cohesive/consistent seeming, but alas, scribbly chaos reigns, it seems

#sketchbook #scrapbook #Actually I feel like these are kind of incomprehensible in photo form like.. In person holding the book its easy to look at #but as images on this scale I feel like there's so much tiny little text and small scribles and stuff you'd have to 'right click > open #image in new browser tab > zoom in' just to actually really see the thing. which for 7 images is excessive lol.. so. probably not the best #medium for sharing really but. I suppose I thought they might look cooler lined up next to each other. The whole part of using a #limited color palette is so that maybe they kind of seem to have more consistent color schemes or something throughout. but I dont #know if they look all that 'related' or not. I think these types of challenges I have always sucked at because I am a being of clutter and #excess. I can't just do like one little simple nice looking design and have that Crisp Neat calligraphy with evenhanded perfect lines #and perfect symmetical composition and etc. etc. Like some poeple post very aesthetically clean and cohesive looking sketch #pages or something but I simply cannot hold back the brain impulse to add more. more. more. Fill every single blank space with color #or a little drawing or a sticker or something. I take away 500 things and there are still a million there. Even when I thik I'm being #'simplistic' I'm still usually being 2x more complicated and cluttered than the standard or whatever lol. I guess thats clear from my #outfits/costumes though too. Like whatever that saying is from that person about something like 'before you leave the house take off one #more accessory. you dont need it' for me is like.. 'before you leave the house. add 10 more accessories. and 6 more layers. and another'#AAANyway. I wonder if also maybe some people would try to plan theirs in a way to look good or something or like.. plot things on the page #before placing them. I did sometimes have a theme for a day kind of (like day 10 I ended up finding a few gold and green things and then #was like.. hey... what if I looked for a few other things and only used these colors today') but aside from that I was just slapping down #stickers randomly and working around them to fill the page. Maybe a lot of neat minimalistic asthetic design is about planning and #having a Vision set ahead of time. instead of just complete random whatever. doodling whilst watching youtube videos or eating lunch. It's #a miracle actually I've managed to not spill any food on the book the whole time. anyway.. I do wish the highlighter really showed up. the #scanner kind of makes the colors look VERY different to irl. But also it got much clearer images than just camera pictures of pages. alas..#..Still oddly enjoy the phrase 'Salisbury Steak gently kissed with industrial pollutants'#probably my favorite section of 'gluing random papers and things onto the page' lol #Also I wonder if it's super obvious that I literally never ever use references when I draw (save for the few freakish looking youtube #face sketches) since everyone is always in the same positions and looking very similar ghhb. This could have been a good opportunity to #work on not solely drawing from my mind and try to do more Dynamic Experimental scribbles. NO. Same exact eye for the 90th time #be upon ye. But I guess it was meant to be casual 'daily doodles'. True 'practice' would make it seem too effortful like a full project. hm #(lol the one decimated pencil in the set... never hand me a writing utensil. i will passively destroy it somehow. shaving the sides of a #pencil off with a knife or snapping a pen in half as a nervous fidget without even realizing i've done it. sorry to the drawing implements)

the juppet !! i just realised he is jerma posing i swear that was unintentional...... i spent so long digging thru muppet concept art and looking at old puppet designs just to end up doing a rly simple drawing but. i love joehills!! i have only been watching them for like 4 years but their videos r so special to me :3

i think the made in abyss concert today pressed some kind of healing reset button on my soul btw

#i cried a lot. a lot #then i came home and realized i didnt want to just sit at home and waste time #so i went out and sat in two different food courts drawing for two hours #it was a direct demonstration to me if the fact that rotting at home isn’t my natural state #seeking stimulation and challenge is. but there’s something broken in how i do it where I can’t start by myself #left to my own devices i can rot in place for weeks or literal years #i don’t want that for myself any more i know i can get better #I’ve been creating a lot in the past week and i need to keep it up #and apply the same thinking to career stuff (JET is hopefully a ‘have job and place to live while reevaluating yourself’ cushion/launchpad)#I don’t want to give up on myself #!!!!!!!!!! i want to live to see the golden city!!!!!!!#what an insane post I’ll delete it later and maybe do an actual writeup about the concert #orphan hole tag

Rey, who is in my very biased opinion, one of the funniest "girls" I have because she's just a guy, truly. Like Rey is just short for Reynold because he was recruited by a a goddess to help the hero she selected and the hero is conveniently Reynold's younger brother. So he agrees to help under the condition that the goddess gives him a female body for the other world. She's like "really odd flex but whatever" and gives him a female form and he's like "you know. I can't really blame anyone but myself for not specifying 'please don't turn me into a Lisa Frank personification'."

#my characters #ya know since i draw daily idk if ill do any challenges this month #i know theres a LOT of them out there but i might hold off and do huevember as a challenge and let this month just be chill #for what its worth he only asks for a female body because his baby brother (like 10 years younger than him)#commented ONE TIME ugh its so weird to have you dote on me like this #why couldnt you have been an older sister or look less suspicious #so when sent to help his brother hes like RIGHT GOT IT GIRL TIME LIKE THE MOST LOGIC COURSE OF ACTION #then does a really good job at helping the hero and then gets abducted by the demon army and #as rey keeps challenging the demons checking on him in the dungeon (who are all very kind?) to just interrogate him already #and they just ask why would they do that? they just wanted her outta the way for a bit #cause they dont actually want to hurt anyone and then the demon lord keeps personally visiting rey and continues #to point out how she gives him a headache and how the core is different than the shell #and so then he offers to revert rey back to his original form and reynold immediately accepts #and so now hes just a guy again surrounded by v nice demons #and hes like please just be mean ive been trained to handle violence you have to stop being nice #im not used to nice ok you have to be mean or else im going to develop stockholm syndrome #and the demons are just ?? we dont .... dont know.... what that is.......... what.....#then he gets engaged to the demon lord and all is well ! he becomes the trophy husband to the demon lord #and the world is saved (it was never at risk)#i have a lot of love for the idiots in this plot #because reynold and sascha are literal husbands thinking oh no my beloved husband is only married out of convenience to meeee #and solei is the goddess who recruited him and is so mad that reynold is more of a gremlin than sascha #like why is this mere mortal somehow worse than THE DEMON LORD how in the world #and reynold runs around just adopting all of the demon army and is like yeah #ill be the trophy husband with a hundred kids and a hot 7ft tall demon husband who can change into a huge dragon #and hes really content in this role!#but for a while he does appear as rey and hates how much of a highlighter he is

#misc; ooc #//don't ask me how it turned looking like one of those scrapbooks on tik tok I don't have the amswer to that lmao #//but it's been great in terms of learning what works for me and not #//i'd say for me I mostly focus on the drawing aspect of it more than the actual journaling tbh I just love drawing #//while i have a separate planner notebook for my schedule and tasks and shit like that #//i'm just a lil worried about the new notebook pages bc I just realized thjs week they are thinner than my previous journal #//and if i put a bit too much glue to stick the pages together #//(bc i do stick them together bc the colors bleed through the pages so I leave the back of the pages I've drawn on untouched)#//--- the colors bleed through a lil bit from the glue (I use liquid glue) bc they get a bit wet and again these lages are VERY thin #//so I think instead of using glue I might stick the lages together with tape #//so that the colors don't bleed through the pages and also to avoid the pages getting crinkled #//if ya know what i mean #//and yeah I COULD do my spreads on a separate sheet and then stick it in the journal #//i've seen a lot of artists actually do that on those Create This Book series on YT #//but I don't think I want to make the new journal as CHONKY or even CHONKIER than the last one #//and if I stick a bunch on seperate pages i to it it would surely get very chonky #//(believe me I've seen how these Create This Book challenge books on YT have turned into after rhe artist(s) have done half of the prompts #//also if you're curious most of my spreads from the last two years were recreations and inspired by Amanda Rach Lee's spreads on YT #//I just love her art style it's so cute and how she isn't afraid change things up and also allow mistakes to happen #//if you do bullet journals as well and need inspiration I def recommend her channel

this rewatch of sdmi has been wild because once you start taking the talking animals and their place in the worldbuilding seriously it's just like oh wow this is some real final fantasy plot huh. what do you mean the resident discriminated-against beastfolk are not only descended from ancient otherworldly beings masquerading as gods, and not only driven insane even more effectively than non-beastfolk by a curse because of their heritage, and not only serve as apocalyptically powerful vessels for those otherworldly beings, but are easy to read as having been created specifically because they're more powerful vessels than normal animals, and then abandoned to their own devices (being enslaved) for thousands of years until the next time their creators pop into this reality and want a convenient corporeal form to snatch. which game in the series is this

I need to think out loud - feel free to ignore

#I really want to quit the event for trans day of visibility #I just don't see what I can give to the conversation #and I haven't for a while now #there is already a person that does all the posters #when I did the budget it was all wrong #half the ideas I've come up with has been having big holes #and honestly I don't think that comfortable in the group #I feel like I am back at school or university being put in a group for a project that I cannot pull out of because it will affect my grade #or the rest of the group's performance #but there's no grades #there is a performance of sort being the event #and that could still be great #but I don't feel like I have the spoons or the experience for this #I am just smiling (barely) and nodding along #yet a part of me are also scared of dropping out now #there is not a lot of time left #and so it wouldn't be fair on the other people to ditch this last minute #but would it be more fair to let me just tag along not doing anything of value?#and I should probably decide soon since we are getting closer #it is this big dark cloud over my thought rn #I am trying to concentrate on my drawing challenge yet I don't have any joy in it #because all my thoughts go to this event #I don't know what to do #I really don't want to do this #but I did say yes #and I hate tapping out and be seen as untrustworthy as well #micahs thoughts
