Sinners as D&D Classes & Subclasses!
we back at it again so last night @gregorsamsaautism and i ended up cooking up ideas for what classes the LCB Sinners would be in the D&D universe. not necessarily what they'd want to play as if they partook in the TTRPG- think of it as, essentially, what D&D identities would look like for them. i'll give a few explanations on each one as need be bc i know some of them are gonna need it but just bear with us on this NOTE: this doesn't dive into what races they'd be- that's its entirely own separate thing and this is long enough as is with that said. time to make these guys get more fantasy injected in their bones
Yi Sang- Circle of Stars Druid The man seems to be pretty associated with constellations, at least from a few bits and pieces I've seen here and there, so being able to harness their power in the way that a Circle of Stars druid would let him work at maximum efficiency. I could see him using the Dragon Starry Form often, and his Star Map most definitely takes the form of a scroll covered in numerous constellations. All this, and the fact that being a Druid probably gives him more of a natural resistance to the ills of nature, given the class's ability to control parts of it with magic. And given what we learned about him in Hell's Chicken... budding potatoes is going to be much more common a meal for him.
Faust - Hexblade Warlock
Her namesake literally makes a pact with a demon in her source material. She was going to be a warlock no matter what, but Hexblade feels like the one that most closely fits her. Dealing in hexes, curses, and starting out at level 1 already being proficient in medium armor, shields, and martial weapons- even if she does not fully utilize these, the knowledge still rests in her regardless, and that's not to say she will never utilize them. ... also Hex Nail EGO for Faust exists.
Don Quixote - Oath of Vengeance Paladin
Okay, hear me out here. I am of the opinion that a paladin's oath does not necessarily have to be one that's religious-coded, if that makes sense. Oaths can be made to anyone and anything- it doesn't fully matter to what at the end of the day, all that matters is how much power the oathmaker draws from it. Don Quixote swears upon justice and felling evildoers all across the city. We know not what exactly is fueling this sense of justice and heroism (or at least I don't, bc I haven't read her source material- but then again, given how much Project Moon's taking a lot of creative liberties in how they're adapting these stories, that may or may not matter. anyways, back to the matter at hand), but I feel like justice and vengeance can come hand-in-hand in some situations. Both deal with wanting to right a wrong in some way, whether it be more general or more personal. And a part of me feels like Don Quixote's enacting a vengeance she has against the inherent evil of the City by bringing what she feels is "justice" to those she can currently help. And stars know she believes in that enough to swear an oath upon it. And also I just think she deserves the Avenging Angel feature of the oath.
Ryoshu - Arcane Trickster Rogue
I don't think I need to really explain this one. She had to be able to sneak into the casino without anyone noticing she didn't have the Tingtang disguise on somehow, right? And everyone else about her feels like it screams "Arcane Trickster" to me. I dunno. Alternatively, Assassin Rogue.
Meursault - Battle Master Fighter
He's only in it for the Improved Combat Superiority features and nothing else. That's all he needs. He's going to wreck shop in the most average way possible. And y'know what, good for him.
Hong Lu - Lunar Sorcerer
You know he would.
Heathcliff - Battle Smith Artificer
Okay really hear me out here- Actually, no, there's not that big of an explanation for this one. For one thing, and I really must stress this, but Heathcliff isn't stupid dumb muscle, like I've seen a few people in the fandom interpret him as. He's pretty damn smart- being able to perfectly pick apart the circumstances of death for a fallen L Corp branch's few survivors & that stunt he pulled at the casino should be proof enough of that. Second, Artificers are best at making defenses and coming up with ways to magically attune their weapons to hit harder. And let me tell you, I am shocked at how many hits default LCB Sinner Heathcliff can take, and his Smackdown skill scares the shit out of me with how much Power it can stack, especially if paired with his Bodysack EGO. Third, Battle Smith comes with a little Steel Defender guy and I think Heathcliff deserves a little guy. Okay, maybe this was a big explanation.
Ishmael - multiclass of Oath of the Open Seas Paladin & Swashbuckler Rogue
That's right, Matt Mercer's official Homebrew's getting involved in this. Admittedly, part of this is because "oh hey there's two marine-themed classes here and Ishmael's Ishmael, this'll be funny". But there are genuine reasons for both of these. Oath of the Open Seas has a feature that allows you to push foes away by 10 feet, which can bludgeon them if they end up hitting a wall. Have you seen how many of Ishmael's attack animations involve pushing foes back with a bash-push of her shield? (Default LCB Sinner and LCCB Assistant Manager are both very guilty of this.) Not just that, but the lore and tenets of the Oath itself seem to just... fit Ishmael rather well. And Swashbuckler Rogue? Everything it can do feels like skills Ishmael could've learned while on the voyage. And combined with the Paladin's spellcasting and the Oath of the Open Sea in particular needing Charisma in some aspects, the two of them just go together like peas in a pod.
Rodion - College of Eloquence Bard
You know she would. Alternatively, College of Tragedy, perhaps once we get to learn more about her and she opens up some more.
Sinclair - Path of the Ancestral Guardian Barbarian
Shoutout to Grotto (aka gregorsamsaautism) in particular for the idea of Sinclair being a Barbarian. Imagine fighting a guy who's experiencing pure rage but he's also shaking and crying and screaming the whole time "Why Path of the Ancestral Guardian as subclass?" How else would he know Demian in this universe and have a strange and special gay relationship with him, with him being the unknowable deity granting him his power? (don't boo me i'm right /lh)
Outis - multiclass of Battle Master Fighter and Way of the Long Death Monk
She has old woman war criminal energies. You know she would. And unlike Meursault, she classed into Battle Master Fighter for all it's worth.
Gregor - Swarmkeeper Ranger
I don't need to explain this one. You know he would. (Probably not by choice, but still.) (also shoutout to Grotto in particular again for coming up with this. my old idea was circle of spores druid gregor but swarmkeeper gregor slapped ass)
Dante - Order Domain Cleric
Because this group needs at least one person in a dedicated healer role. And since they're the executive manager, why not try and act like it? Alternatively, Life Domain Cleric. Also, it would be very very funny if, before this whole amnesia business, they were an Order of the Ghostslayer Blood Hunter, until life kicked their ass and everyone else bullied them into a cleric.
#limbus company#yi sang lcb#faust lcb#don quixote lcb#ryoshu lcb#meursault lcb#hong lu lcb#heathcliff lcb#ishmael lcb#rodion lcb#sinclair lcb#outis lcb#gregor lcb#dante lcb#d&d#tagging that bc it's. well that's what it is#i'm not coming up anything for charon and vergilius bc they're the DMs

for the choose violence ask game: 7, 8, 13 and 25 for dragon age
🔥 choose violence ask game 🔥
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
I'm honestly hard-pressed to think of a Dragon Age character that I truly hate. Most of my feelings range from love to indifference, probably because both the cast and the fandom are big enough that characters I'm not drawn to are easy enough to ignore.
So I do not hate Anders, I actually like him a lot as a character, but I do find a lot of the discourse around him very frustrating (and this is more complicated than whether I think he was right or wrong, for anyone about to jump to conclusions on that; if you really want to know, you can probably figure it out from various meta I've written), and thus I am very wary of engaging with it, and there's a certain flavor of Anders fandom that I just steer clear of when I see it.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
In order for everyone to be wrong about something, everyone in the fandom would have to agree on something, and we all know that's impossible in this fandom. 😆 Okay no, I'll try to give some kind of answer to this, for very loose values of "everyone."
"The ending of DA2 both-sideses the choice between the mages and the templars." It really does not. It's very explicit about how incredibly unjust the annulment is, to the point that the game draws a strong distinction even between agreeing with Anders and defending the mages; Hawke can completely condemn what Anders did and kill him for it and still defend the mages. The game goes out of its way to point out to you that the Circle mages had nothing to do with the attack on the Chantry and that Meredith is just using it as an excuse to kill them. It's one of the least subtle portrayals of Circle atrocities in the series, even if a lot of the political details of Kirkwall and Meredith and Elthina are easier to miss. The game giving us a choice does not in itself mean it's drawing a moral equivalent between those choices. I think you can make a case for the games doing that elsewhere, but not here. DA2's ending is about as subtle as an explosion.
13. worst blorboficiation
I'm having to guess a bit what "blorbofication" means in this context, but given that the origin of "blorbo" is a meme about fans who see their fave in everything regardless of how well it actually applies, thus reducing the character to a generic blob of a person... I guess I'll go with Alistair. Part of it is just that he's been around a long time, so there's years of different fan interpretations and discourse to all sort of mush together about him, and I've definitely seen interpretations of Alistair that I felt like excised a lot of the messier aspects of his character. (He is for example more critical of the Chantry than he's often given credit for, and on the other hand he's also the guy who makes a remark about if you're going to get jumped when you walk into the alienage.)
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
"The writers were lazy/stupid for using a cipher for Elvish and not making a fully functional conlang for an RPG they didn't even know for sure would get a sequel, never mind a full series." (Strangely it's only the elven language that I see people say should have been a full conlang when you'd think if that's the argument, surely they should have done the same for Dwarven and Qunlat as well? which becomes even more of a massive, unweildy, unrealistic project for a single video game.)
And basically, anything else that's just... wildly out of touch with the reality of how video games are made.

I think it depends on which part of fandom you're in, in my experience from what i've seen in fanart Armand and Lestat are the most feminized characters and Louis is actually overtly masculine (I think there may be some racial bias at play here too), they are also the ones most often reffered to with feminine pronouns (I don't think i've ever seen anyone refer to Louis or Daniel as a c*unt or babygirl which I find interesting). I've also seen a lot of takes on twt saying that since Lestat is more 'feminine '(cause he's flamboyant emotional and has longer hair which is funny to me) as a proof that he's an exclusive bottom lmao. At the end of the day people gonna twist canon to jusify their personal preferences and it was always like that in any fandom that I was in.
That's really interesting that you've been seeing that, anon! Fandom pockets - especially in a fandom as large as this one seems to be - definitely do pop up and it's always fascinating to see what interpretations of characters and character dynamics crop up as a part of that. I've seen a bit of the Lestat and Armand feminisation, but I tend to read the cunt / baby girl comments about them as a bit more tongue-in-cheek than the reading of Louis as the gothic heroine / housewife which I tend to read as being taken as critical analysis, but that could very much just be a result of what I'm exposed to.
I have pretty limited engagement on tumblr and I'm not on twitter, so I tend to find my widest indication of popular fandom reads of characters is through fic, and the reading of Louis very specifically as the gothic heroine / housewife / mother I'd say is probably the most common one that I see that way? I also find people in fanart tend to draw Lestat as a lot taller / more muscular in comparison to Louis, which is always interesting to me too, so I'm fascinated by the fact that you've seen a lot of the reverse where fanart of Louis is overtly masculine! I probably am very much in a niche, haha.
#i also think mmm#people can be a little humourless about louis (and claudia) sometimes in a way they aren't about the other characters?#which i definitely do think is racial bias too because louis is objectively hilarious#i did what i often do in fandoms these days which is follow a TON of blogs once i get into a fandom#then unfollow 75% of them in the course of a few weeks lmao#and then sporadically add people as i get more of a sense of the lay of the land#so yeah it definitely means my experience is pretty curated#so it's very interesting to see what other people are experiencing or seeing#iwtv asks

Regrading Taskmaster: S04E08 Tony Three Pies. AND Series Four Winner
*Score changes noted in parenthesis.
Series Four wrap-up time.
Prize Task: Most Cash
This is an insane prize task category. Let's get the easy out of the way early: Noel didn't bring in any cash so he gets last place. The rest should probably be interpreted consistently and so the question becomes "does the most cash mean physically or in money value?" Hugh actually brings in the least by both measurements, so he gets fourth.
It would be unfair to rank Joe ahead of Lolly who brings in a ludicrous amount of money. This means that money value is the correct measurement and the rest falls into place.
Hugh: 2 (+1) Joe: 4 (0) Lolly: 5 (0) Mel: 3 (+1) Noel: 1 (-2)
VT 01: Make an exotic sandwich. Eat your exotic sandwich.
The first part of the task provides no win condition! That means the grading should be exclusively based on how much/how fast the exotic sandwich is consumed. Per Alex, no one finishes their sandwich -- so we must ask whether the task should be graded based on percentage of sandwich consumed or total mass consumed. My instinct is to grade based on the former so the first part of the task isn't completely irrelevant.
I would say Joe eats a negligible amount of sandwich and Lolly eats a good bit of hers. Hugh easily eats the most. Noel eats some of Alex's hair, which is probably the least, but he still deserves to beat Joe who had actual food and still didn't appear to consume any of it. A for effort, Mel.
Hugh: 5 (-1) Joe: 1 (-5) Lolly: 4 (-2) Mel: 3 (-4) Noel: 2 (-5)
VT 02: Strike one of these objects the furthest distance with one of the other objects. You have three strikes with your chosen object.
I do take issue that Alex counts attempts even when they miss because the task dictates "three strikes," not "three attempts." No other controversy here. Tony Three Pies takes it.
Hugh: 4 Joe: 3 Lolly: 1 Mel: 2 Noel: 5
VT 03: Do something surprising with this rubber duck.
Tasks that call for surprise are always tricky because the nature of the task makes the surprising become expected. Joe gets last because buying Greg a holiday is completely unrelated to the duck. I think Mel is correctly placed in first because she actually surprises Morello who had no idea what was going on.
I'm actually bumping Hugh up past Noel because no one is surprised when Noel does anything crazy. Lolly gets penalized because I've seen multiple people set things afloat with balloons in Taskmaster and it's just not all that original of an idea (blame David Correos).
Hugh: 4 (+3) Joe: 1 (-2) Lolly: 2 (+1) Mel: 5 (0) Noel: 3 (-1)
Live Task: Draw the median duck. Bonus point for the best duck.
Greg quickly takes away any ambiguity as to what "median" means. It means size. We have Joe and Mel trying to skirt the rules by writing versions of "median duck" on their boards. It appears they both drew something too (though it's tough to tell with Joe). Alex only measures length, but Mel's does look third biggest when I look at them all together.
I also agree with Greg that Noel's is the best, mostly because it's generous to call the remaining four "ducks."
Hugh: 0 Joe: 0 Lolly: 0 Mel: 5 Noel: 1
Final
Hugh: 15 (+2) Joe: 9 (-7) Lolly: 12 (+1) Mel: 21 (0) Noel: 12 (-8)
Mel won the episode the first time and she does so again. Major deductions based on my choice to eliminate half the grading for the sandwich task.
Series Final
Hugh: 140 (+11) Joe: 126 (-10) Lolly: 122 (+3) Mel: 124 (-10) Noel: 122 (-22)
Couple of shockers here for me. When I started the series, I predicted I'd have Joe winning. I did not predict Hugh would jump him, let alone by more than ten points. Furthermore, I knew I was going to drop Noel because I remembered tasks where I thought he was inappropriately favored. I didn't think he would be down with Lolly in joint last place.
In all, Series Four probably has the worst grading throughout. Common sentiment is matched here though -- Hugh was the rightful champ.

i'm not going to publish this ask i got because it seems very personal and contains ableist language
first is that there is no "right way" to enjoy something, whether that's writing or otherwise. i think everyone's experience of art is different, and that's normal. there are more common shared experiences which people usually bond through in fandom, but even then no two people's experiences of what they love are the same. hansi fanwork that interprets their character and writes them in wholesome scenarios doing fluffy or smutty things is probably the most popular aside from ship content, so that is totally fine and normal. anything is, including my own maybe more unusual experience drawing from my own grief, experience with identity and themes that are present in the narrative such as oppression and loss. my preference for this (or rather, i'd say inability to engage with it in any other way, as this is who i am) is not "better" than anyone else's nor is it more of a "right" way.
second is that i hope you don't think i want hansi to be unhappy because i acknowledge their suffering. not really sure what more to say on this, everyone has different experience with these themes and for me this is a character whom i see much of myself and dead people who i loved and cared about in who also died in the narrative for reasons related to injustice and who their author seems to have killed off for reasons related to injustice. i've seen maybe implicit things about this before "fandom is supposed to be a place where we pretend all the bad things aren't happening", along the lines of friend who's too woke, probably same reason why my constant critical analysis of how real world injustice influences writing and fandom is tiring for pretty much everyone. i cannot "ignore" this because this is what i came to know to describe reality and everything that happens in it. there are some people who can ignore it better than others and definitely people in positions that allow them better to ignore it, this is what contributes to this disparity and we return to how there is no "right way" to enjoy art, but maybe trends in how different groups of people with similar experiences may experience art in similar ways.
my choice remains revival. i would argue one of the narrative's central driving themes remains the morality of and what leads to the choice of assisted suicide, inheritance notwithstanding, the final act of love which isayama was painfully blatant about making the reveal and levi's final thought on this erwin telling him "thank you". both floch and hansi died for ideological convictions that they had. this is mine, my conviction to revive them regardless of if they would hate me forever for it. if i did not have this conviction i would have already gone. my personal complex is indeed who knows how hansi thought. are my impressions of this being what they also wanted nothing more than delusional wish fulfillment? it doesn't matter. my choice remains revival.
third, is that i have heard this a lot and my answer remains the same, but i believe that others have understood hansi lol. people who are in snk fandom for love of the narrative and analysis of characters/themes are few and far between but i have read and learned a lot from other peoples' interpretations of hansi, my reading of 126 and 132 aren't even really mine, these initially came from analysis i read from someone else.
i also do think that there is a lot of room for uncertainty/interpretation. a lot of my analysis of them uses secondary non-canon material as supporting evidence for behaviors that do exist in canon. i'm aware of that and if canon contradicted it by explaining it some other way that made equal sense i would instantly correct the assumption. we simply do not see hansi enough in canon to understand their psychology in a conclusive way.

Art Deep Dive: Ines J.
Words cannot truly express how I feel about this artist! but i will try.
I discovered Ines J. on instagram where they go by the handle @a.creature (ive linked her direct instagram to this @ so it will not take you to a tumblr account of theirs, not sure if they have one but i will check and edit this after typing everything up if so!).
From what i've gathered, Ines is a very multifaceted artist that incorporates their work into a variety of mediums and trinkets. Im going to highlight some of the recent works of theirs that I'm absolutely obsessed with. to be honest, they're all fantastic though so i would definitely recommend checking their page out and getting lost in a surrealist paradise of wonky doodles.
my thoughts on the pieces are going to be in bullet form so bear with me.
bodies, demons, faces, morphed creatures, morphed selves
stickers, commercial, industrialized, contrasting organic lines
organic shapes resembling body parts, intestines
bright color unnatural to regular body tones, for emphasis? (or personal taste which is what id do for color choice)
the beautiful inclusions of black imagery, woman on top left is my favorite she looks so haunted and her hair reminds me of myself on a rough morning
"on & on" speaks to works theme of chaos and continuing on despite it, like me during those said mornings
unraveling in a sense
god! beautiful color choices just IMMACULATE
THE FACE ON THE LEFT? THE CONTRAST OF THE BLUE WITH THE ORange??? Ines!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job
different features, organic material
text adds to juxtaposition of natural vs. unnatural which is a common theme
Wednesdays do feel yellow. sometimes being human is about being alive to hear/see observations like this
i am guilty of throwing checker patterns in lots of spots on my art, love the teal checker pantsuit here it fuels my soul
red, anger, angst, sex, sexuality
large dominant figure is not happy, and contrasts to the abundance of color around, could signify a void or lack of emotion, creativity, maybe even happiness
this drawing reminds me of how it feels to scroll through instagram on a bad mental health day while it seems like everyone else is living their best lives while i occasionally rot
reminds me of something similar i said to the man i currently am infatuated with, minus the airplane part
"oh what can you do!" this is how i feel about him lol. the black and lime green image of the two people also reminds me of him
i wonder if this piece is based on a lover... probably
tears, unfinished boxes, distance that is most likely unwanted, lack of memory
when those things fade we will do our best to capture things creatively like this in art as a shrine for the emotions we feel and have felt but ultimately have to let go of
drawings like this break my mf heart (cause they remind me of when i was mf heartbroken lol)
and ykno what yes to the green head on top right corner, everyone has their own interpretation but that makes me think ya love can actually make you lovesick and that is how id mentally draw myself with the green worm sliming out and all bc sometimes thats how it feels out here
more tears i see:(
one of my favorites that i've seen so far honestly?
this image reminds me of myself and im sure a lot of women feel the same
colorful blobs at the top, bubbles of experiences, memories that have passed, things that make you who you are, and the shapes get more specific and thought out in terms of painted construction as you near the woman (red star, blue circle, black teardrop, etc).
delicate nature of the wispy but sharp surroundings behind her, like a girly, cosmic barbed wire (luv it)
pink and overall colors mentioned before contrasts with the deep blue and black used to illustrate her, somber colors and face expression, head down
the vibrant red flower seems to be the focal point, most vivid spot in terms of color
to me symbolizes a feminine rage because it is so big, red and bright that it is something which naturally demands to be seen
her demeanor is the exact opposite, like a woman in society trying not to seem out of line even though she has every right to be upset
cultivating the flower, knowing when to let certain emotions bloom?
possibly being tired from not being able to let certain emotions bloom
okay thats all for tonight everybody. i know ive been saying that i'd do this for a while but adult life can get so hectic. Also i wanted to wait till i found someone i really enjoyed so i wouldnt get writers block halfway through this blog post. here's to ines j. for being a super dope artist!

"They're freaking brothers" someone kill me please this is like the 8068392820th time I've seen this argument can't y'all come up with something more creative?
Because it's just factually wrong. In the canon, AT BEST, Arjun and Krishna are very distant cousins (what with Kunti being Vasudev's biological sister but because she was adopted by Kuntibhoj, she would carry his name and lineage and her children would be like 3rd cousins to the Yadavas or some shit)
and anyway do I REALLY need to remind y'all that this same "They're related!!!!!" logic can be applied to Arjun and Subhadra seeing as to how they're fucking married in the canon and no one seems to bitch about that.
We have Krishna repeatedly stating how Arjun is the most important person in his life, how he cannot imagine a life without him, how he would sacrifice the world, even himself for Arjun's sake. He calls him his other half, CANONICALLY.
We have Arjun putting his utmost faith (almost blindly so) in Krishna, spending a lot of time going on secret outings with him where they are said to have shared a bed frequently, being the only person to have witnessed Krishna in his complete essence: body, heart and soul, the Vishawaroop (well, there were other people who saw the avatar too but the display was quote blatantlyfor Arjun and Arjun only). I don't even have to go into the story of "Arjuni" in the Padma Purana where Arjun genderswaps to go "sport" with Krishna in Vrindavan (during one of the Raas-Leelas). The entire episode is gay as fuck.
And all of this is just off the top of my head. Nara and Narayan may have been "twin saints", but they also literally symbolise the union of mortality and divinity, in every single way. They're the embodiment of "Two Bodies, One Soul" And the interpretation of what that means is left up to the reader. Not to mention, they're the deities of the Satya-Yug, when everything was perfect. There were no vices or sins or pleasure or pain (or sex, at least not explicitly lmao). The nature of their relationship then represented the ideal of that era.
But when they were reincarnated as Krishna and Arjun, obviously they were bound to change, shaped by this new, much darker era. You can't expect them to feel about each other the same what they felt back then. It's a much different time, wildly different circumstances. There's obviously still that camaraderie and connection there, a residue from their previous lifetimes, but Krishna and Arjun are Narayan and Nara only in spirit. Otherwise they have nothing in common.
Anyway, I went off on a rant there but what I really wanted ro emphasize is that the Mahabharata is a story, first and foremost, a sprawling, enchantingly complex tale of well, everything really. The origin of it is unknown and we could go all day about whether it actually happened or not but that is not the point at all. It doesn't matter if it was the exaggerated retelling of what happened in India's ancient past or the brainchild of a prodigious bard. The fact remains that it's a glorious artifact that not only represents India's long-standing culture of discussion, debate and tolerance but also begins with a line that says "what is found here can be found elsewhere, but what is not found here is found nowhere".
So pray tell me, OP, is such a text really not capable of accomodating a few headcanons, silly drawings and fanfiction? Some "controversial" (read: different that the mainstream) opinions or hating certain characters or even shipping characters is not gonna "ruin" the glory of the epic. Hell, all of that, whatever outrageous thing you can think of, has probably happened in some or the other story of Mahabharata, in some or the other way. Hence the quote.
So there's nothing wrong with having alternate interpretations of the text, as long as you're not being an asshole about it, smh.
There are people who hate Bhisma Pitamah?
THE BHISMA PITAMAH???
#This is not a hate post#it's more like a mind your own business post#seriously its not that hard#i didn’t mean to go off the tangent like that but posts like this really piss me off#like people are just chilling with their fanfiction and HCs#and if its somehow hurting your religious sentiments just block that person or tag its really not that fucking hard#don't push your ideas of what's right and wrong on others#and shout blasphemy (theres no such concept in hinduism ffs) everytime you see someone write about Krishna and Arjun being more than “bRoS”#nyway thats my two cents#mahabharata

Ideas for Blindsight vampire physical appearance (I'm going to tag people I've seen doing Blindsight fan-art in case they find this interesting; @ryuki-draws, @wiltking, @brovitranduila):
I don't remember much detailed description of what they actually look like in the books. My preferred interpretation is:
They look weird; it is very visually obvious that they are closely related to humans but are not humans.
They're a sibling species of humans, not an offshoot. That is to say, vampires aren't weird humans, vampires and humans are different variations of weird Homo erectus. So I like the idea that vampires have some "primitive" features retained from the last common ancestor species that humans lost.
So, Blindsight vampire physical trait ideas:
- Weird jaws and teeth. In Blindsight they're described as being about as lupine as it's possible for a hominid's to be. My idea is vampires are more carnivory-inclined and more adapted toward eating raw meat than humans (that protein they needed to get from eating people would probably have been destroyed by denaturation, so they probably needed to eat the meat raw). So, compared to humans, vampires have a bigger jawbone, more powerful jaw muscles, and pronounced prognathism. They also have "chinless" faces like Neanderthals, because that's an ancestral hominid trait. Vampire molars are similar to human molars (they are omnivores, so they do have a use for grinding teeth), but their premolars are "scissor" teeth for shredding raw meat, and their front teeth are "scary" carnivore teeth, sharp and able to bite through and tear raw meat with ease (as per expectations, they have large sharp canines - a vampire looks most obviously inhuman when they show their teeth). Possibly vampires fit some extra teeth into their longer jaws. Male vampires could pass for humans more easily than female vampires, because facial hair could hide the weird jaw somewhat.
- Bigger and more protruding earlobes than humans, to direct more sound toward the ear kind of like a parabolic antenna. Possibly the ears have some limited mobility; can be flicked a little, inclined a little in the direction of interesting sounds, etc.. Movement of the ears may have had some expressive/communicative functions in ancient vampire culture, and modern vampires may still make some of those expressions instinctively.
- Weird eyes, but not just in the way you'd think. Yes, they have cat pupils and "eyeshine," but aside from that vampire eyes look like Homo erectus eyes, and Homo erectus eyes looked a lot like chimpanzee eyes. So vampire eyes look like chimpanzee eyes (so dark sclera and large sort of orange-brown irises) but with slit pupils and "eyeshine" in darkness. Human eyes are a whole different kind of weird.
- Edit: also, the books don't mention this, but I think it would make a lot of sense (and be thematically appropriate) for vampires to have the same rapid eye movements as Echopraxia zombies, and for the same reason. Though I think in vampires it might be a behavior associated with hunting and other high-energy states, and most of the time they might conserve sensory processing resources by processing vision more like humans do and moving their eyes more like humans do. A vampire doing rapid eye movements might be the same kind of red flag that the "hunting flush" is.

Feel free to ignore this if this isn’t the place to ask (I’m new to the fandom side of Kirby) but all this proshipping discourse got me concerned with like… who actually is an adult in the Kirby fandom? I see so many headcanons, but I don’t know where the line is drawn on who is definitively an adult and who isn’t (maybe I’m missing something)? Just King Dedede and maybe Meta Knight since they both have jobs??
That's... a good question wow yeah
Unfortunately since a lot of common Kirby lore is vague or poorly translated it's difficult to draw the line, since most is inferred or just popular in the fandom. Here's what I can tell you...
Most character ages are implied by how they act (or explicitly said in things like the anime or manga). If they're more mature, they run an organization, they take care of themselves independently, they have a job, etc they're most likely an adult. For example, we can easily say Meta Knight, King Dedede, Daroach, Pres Haltmann, Susie, and Magolor are adults.
Characters who are more innocent, small, and child-like are most likely younger like Kirby (who's a child in the anime), Gooey, Adeleine (definitely a child), Prince Fluff, and Elfilin (I guess you could argue Elfilin is an adult...? but idk he seems young to me).
Of course you bring up a good question when it comes to deciding how that works... some characters like Marx and Bandana Waddle Dee have arguable ages. Most people say Marx is obviously an adult based on how he acts in the games and the fact that he manipulates Kirby but some Kirby media (books mostly) seem to imply they're similar ages (which I'm less sure about but you'll see it in the fandom). Bandee too is very child-like and most of us agree Bandee is a kid, but they're also mature enough it could be argued they're an adult by some...? You really have to trust your gut on it.
Then again I've seen headcanons for the Meta Knights being older adults and some for them being closer to Meta Knight's adopted teens, you're going to see a lot of interpretations where neither side is made with bad intent.
Intent is the main word here as well, some people hc that Sailor Waddle Dee and Bandana Waddle Dee are siblings and some people hc that they're dating, both (for the most part) of these sides don't intersect. What I mean is most people only think one OR the other, definitely don't agree with siblings dating, but respectfully choose to have a different hc.
If you have questions about specific characters and you're comfortable asking or dm-ing I can definitely tell you what I've seen most people consider their ages and/or relation as. Some characters have a large variety of fandom interpretations while others have very specific (or just outright canon) ones.
Uhhhhhh tldr, most of it is difficult to discern but trust your gut. If they seem like an adult, they're probably an adult. If they seem like a kid, chances are they're a kid. Fandoms will have a lot of lore and opinions and sometimes you'll just have to learn a little before you know what to trust.
#Tuuw talks#Thanks for being patient I started this saved it ad a draft and almost forgot to come back to it#If you like shipping but you're new then my best advice is to get used to the characters and then decide what you like#Also sorry for the essay I gotta be real I didn't know where to go but I do want to help you understand#Fandoms are just confusing in general

Character opinion bingo: Denmark, Norway, Austria, Sealand, France, Itachi, and bc you've been into Total Drama recently: Beth, Gwen, Heather, Ezekiel. (I know that's a lot of characters so feel free to pick and choose which ones you want to do! I also wanted to give you a bit more variety than just the usual ones (i.e. Baltics.))
OOOH, thank you so much for these! I had so much fun filling them all out!
I am going to put them under a cut because there are a lot of characters, and these got long, XD
Den:
I wish there were more options on this that express how much I like him, XD. He's one of my favorite HWS characters! (And I think he has one of the most aesthetically attractive designs, too, X'D)
-
Nor:
Like Den, I really like Nor, too! (And I think I draw him the most out of the N.ordics, haha) Like Den, I wish there were more options on this bingo card that express how much I like him, XD
-
Roderich:
I feel like Roderich is an underrated character in the fandom. I know he has his vocal fans, but at the same time, aside from that subsection of the fandom, I haven't seen many people discussing him? Note: the 'They got done dirty by the fans' comment is moreso regarding my experiences in the earlier days of the fandom, where a common interpretation by a vocal portion of the fandom was that Roderich was abusive, and that Elizabeta deserved better. (I see that less now, which I like)
-
Peter:
I know a lot of people find Peter annoying, but I actually like him a lot? He's an interesting character, and I'm glad we got some newer chapters with him and the other micronations.
-
(And now for the TD characters. This was so much fun to ramble about; I haven't discussed these dorks in years! It was really fun revisiting the series, since I wanted a refresher and plot points and stuff)
Beth:
The more I fill these out, the more I realize that they don't have many options for how I see these characters (which is a shame, since I like them, X'D).
I find Beth to be a relatable character in some ways, especially in TDI. I consider her and Lindsay to be one of the 'dynamic duos' of the series, and I love their friendship.
However, that being said, after Island, I find Beth a flawed character. (Like the whole thing with Brady in TDA. I know it was meant to be played for laughs, but it came off as a little ':/' when she'd be constantly fawning over other boys like Justin and then Harold later on.) There were also some remarks she made towards Lindsay that made me go 'wow, that was mean'.
BUT, despite this, I still enjoy her as a character, and I enjoyed seeing her character grow more confident! (Also, like Lindsay--though Lindsay's moment is probably the most iconic--I cheered when she told Heather off and finally broke off the alliance with her in Island.)
-
Gwen:
Whoo boy. Gwen was one of my favorite characters in TDI, so I was so disappointed by her character derailment in later seasons. [Note: I've only seen TDI, TDA, and TDWT. I looked up what happened in the seasons after that, but I haven't actually watched any episodes from them. I intend to do so eventually, though.]
But back to Gwen. I liked her friendship/eventual relationship with Trent in TDI, so I was disappointed with how everything deteriorated in TDA.
And while I liked her friendship with Duncan, I was disappointed that they became a couple (especially after Gwen and Courtney finally became friends). Though, I do like the fact that it's shown that she and Trent are friends (or at least friendly with each other) again.
-
Heather:
Heather is one of my favorite antagonists in the TD franchise! I did enjoy the character development she got as the seasons went on, though.
-
Ezekiel:
THIS POOR GUY, OMG lkajhfkjshdf
Like I feel awful for him, and especially what happens to him in TDWT. (Honestly, he, Dakota from TDROTI [even though I haven't actually watched that series yet, just looked up stuff about it], and their families should sue Chris and the network for what happened to them both. Because YIKES. I also haven't watched the Ridonculous Race spinoff, but I read that there's a missing person poster of him in the background, so I guess that means his parents don't even know what happened to him after all this time? 0__0)
Zeke's actually a favorite character of mine, and he definitely deserved better. (Like, the sexist comments he made clearly came from his upbringing, rather than any actual maliciousness; he even prefaces it with 'My dad said...', and by the time TDDDDI rolls around, he seems to have lost that mindset.)
On a more positive note, I loved his interactions/friendship with Beth and Lindsay in TDDDDI, and I was so disappointed that he didn't make it to Action with them.
(I can rant about his character for a long time, so I'm going to stop before I write more paragraphs, XD)
-
AND OOPS I just realized I forgot Francis, so here he is!
Francis:
I like him, but he's not really a character I focus on, a lot? (Like I don't have much meta or analysis for him, unfortunately.)
(Also, 'overrated' doesn't mean 'bad'. I actually like Francis. I just find him a bit overrated compared to my favorite characters.)

^ This is the best explanation I've ever seen of OSDD vs DID. I think people get hung up on it based on the (incorrect) idea that it's a severity scale and it would be overstepping to get it wrong if it turns you 'only' have OSDD - but it's not like that at all. I'd argue that ALL people with DID don't meet full criteria at some point in their life, because they're not aware yet, things have changed or fluctuated over time, etc.
It's more like 'if you have all but one symptom on this list, that's still Something and definitely not Nothing, so we created a less sensitive instrument to still put you in the same basket'. Considering that psych diagnoses are man-made tools rather than distinct, observable states that never overlap - they had to draw a line /somewhere/ for what counts as DID, then they drew a few more to bundle in others who need the same things but don't quite tick all the boxes (always or yet).
My personal take is 'if you need to ask exactly how much amnesia counts as DID, you probably meet DID criteria'. That's the most common standard I see applied, too - that any amnesia counts, including amnesia about trauma or past experiences, and you don't need to have blackout amnesia day-to-day.
But in practice, it would depend on the specific perspective of the person diagnosing you - as clinicians vary wildly on the scale of 'any memory alteration counts as DID' to the extreme of 'if you remember your trauma or are aware of your system at all I'm not diagnosing DID' and no doubt some who STILL follow the 'I have to see you switch in front of me' rule and don't believe anything a patient self-reports because that's the hill they want to die on.
So even in the realm of professional diagnosis, there isn't a definitive, consistent line between DID or OSDD because it's always being interpreted someone with their own biases, opinions, professional habits, etc.
When you think of OSDD as being there to stop people falling through the cracks, though, it becomes a lot clearer - as in, it's not worth stressing over or dwelling on trying to figure out The Answer. Any amnesia is /probably/ enough for a DID diagnosis, but OSDD is also there for security when a clinician's preference or interpretation is the wild card factor.
And in terms of self-identification, OSDD is a similar layer of security for people who don't feel fully comfortable with the DID label, even if they might be later down the track. The majority of OSDD systems I've known have later discovered they actually have DID, and it was never a separate thing, just a change in what they were aware of or needing time to feel confident in it.
There really isn't anything to lose either way - though I would argue that if you're experiencing memory issues, approaching it as DID (even just in the interim) could be more helpful - and resources/strategies more relevant - as opposed to using a frame of reference that doesn't include that. For me, giving myself permission to just call it DID meant moving onto actually-helpful things rather than staying stuck splitting hairs on something that didn't actually impact anything.
could someone better explain some differences between OSDD and DID to me? i fear my taking things too literally issue might be fucking up my understanding of something
so, regarding memory issues.
is one of the differences of OSDD1b being an utter lack of amnesia, [i know 1b isn't an accurate term to the current DSM criteria but i think it'll give my post better understanding to use it] or is there an amount of amnesia that one can still have before you meet the criteria for DID?
while i'm aware we have pretty bad amnesia of our past, i'm not sure if we experience enough amnesia in our day-to-day life for DID? since we also have other disorders that cause memory issues at the same time.
generally we kiiinda have details of like. i know it happened, but i don't feel like it happened to me, i'm seeing it in like, a display case, i don't feel emotional attachment to a memory, and generally with both of the other two i don't really remember many details outside of the knowledge it Did happen.
as for day-to-day, sometimes we just kinda forget the entire middle of our day? like we remember waking up, usually grabbing breakfast, and then it's kinda just blank until we hit a specific hour of the night
our self'dx while we wait to make enough progress with our therapist to feel comfortable talking in more detail about the rest of our stuff has been OSDD, but i'm wondering if we have too many memory issues for that.
#replies#for context I'm (strategically) not pro dx'ed but have been aware of my DID for over a decade now#so it's been a long time since I've even remotely been doubting myself#but yeah it really changes nothing#beyond the level on which it's actually helpful to you

The respectability games of 'look! I can be the most NOT delulu Jikooker ever' are getting old. I appreciate the bloggers who try hard to be objective and prevent the spread of misinformation. I admire their commitment to integrity and receipts. They put work into earning their platform and deserve to be considered dependable and wise.
But then other people want to show up and blow up inboxes with 'THAT SWEATER COULD BE ANYONE'S!' and 'Jk was just teasing Jm about the shower calm down delulus'... for what?
Are you anons aware that anything that a cis man in the media does in the vicinity of a cis woman WILL be interpreted as romantic? Do you know how LITTTTTLE it would take for Jk or Jimin to be presumed to be in a heteronormative relationship with a cis female person? (Or how little believers of a certain ship require to spin a psychosexual melodrama wherein mint chocolate icecream =s**?)
Do you know how purely BEYOND the realm of possibility it is in the majority of people's minds it is that ANY Bangtan member is not straight?
I get where these anons are coming from. I am LGBTQ and form a traditional country. There is this idea sometimes that if we capitulate to our elders idea of 'decency', we can 'earn' the right to be seen as decent human beings. It's really hard to break out of that. And I think this mentality can follow people into all kinds of discourse. As Jikook supporters, it can be 'embarrassing' to be lumped into the stereotype of a pack of fetishizing fangirls who slow down footage and draw arrows etc. The reality it takes a lot of time, research and a objectivity to open one's self up to the possibility of an LGBTQ couple just kind of semi putting it out there in the biggest band in the world. It bothers me (and probably you and many other people) when people assume a m/m relationship between who public figures is only the result of fannish 'wishful' imaginings. It hits on a personal level because it is a statement that goes beyond fandom and touches upon visibility and the very existence (or non existence, as many insist) of sexual minorities operating within a repressive society. I know we Jikookers want to be seen as sensible and respectable. No one wants to be called a fantasist. But all we are doing is loving BTS, and literally just reacting to content that is being shown to us. We aren't, as a rule, manufacturing anything. And we aren't isolating it and taking it out of eight years worth of context.
“The reality it takes a lot of time, research and a objectivity to open one's self up to the possibility of an LGBTQ couple just kind of semi putting it out there in the biggest band in the world.”
Anon I felt attacked with the first two lines of your message aahahahahaha. but you are absolutely right and I must say that in this case it is sad, and I know you would agree. personally since I started posting and replying to Asks on this blog I have tried to be as objective as possible and try to see everything in black and white but I also allow myself to see shades of gray. For me personally doing that is important because I don't want to fall into the game that it's my imagination seeing things and not my common sense understanding what I see, I don't know if that makes sense. your second paragraph... if you had seen the asks I received explaining and others telling me I was wrong about the whole jimin wearing jungkook’ sweater in winter package thing... it's amazing how many look for or create the most elaborate or dumbest explanations in order to not accept something related to jikook, instead of accepting that sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.
After so many conversations on this topic here, I've come to wonder if the reluctance or refusal to accept at least the possibility of jikook being real is not only because of homophobia but also because it's Jimin and jungkook specifically. I think it's pretty clear that they are two of the most popular members and arguably the most hated as well, so I wonder if for many that's a reason as well. “Or how little believers of a certain ship require to spin a psychosexual melodrama wherein mint chocolate icecream =s**?” what i particularly hate about this part is that they don't seem to be as hated, insulted and contradicted as much as jikookers, and we or most of us don't resort to absurd explanations to prove that the ship is real as most of them tend to do.
And yeah, we wouldn't be having these kinds of discussions or I wouldn't be getting asks from people saying that jimin and jungkook are like brothers, or that the things they do or say are things that two brothers would do or say to each other, if they were a woman and a man, because that would be normal. right? so there would be... no problem.
“We aren't, as a rule, manufacturing anything. And we aren't isolating it and taking it out of eight years worth of context.” and I'm proud of that.

would love to hear ur thoughts re. these street woman fighter's performances and who you would personally vote as the "better dance crew" in how they interpreted each other choreos and the song.
this was for their first elimination round (ep4) and it was interesting to hear from the judges + why they gave the points they did. (i'm not entirely sure if you're watching the show's episodes. they are roughly 2 hours long. so if you would like more context, pls let me know! i wrote brief comments underneath each one as well as the winners [spoilers ahead!]. assuming you are not: for this mission, each crew is paired with another crew and they have to choreograph one of the soloist songs. songs were "split" into two parts: part one [would be one song] and part two [another song]; one crew would choreograph one part and follow the other's crew choreograph for the other part.)
1. boa - eat you up (want choreo) + better (ygx choreo). dance crews: ygx vs want
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCfK_qWAhM0&ab_channel=MnetTV
winner: ygx. boa gave 151 pts to ygx and 49 pts to want (the biggest gap in points between crews), sharing that although want choreographed eat you up, ygx was more cohesive (pointing to how want wore hats and it was messy). additionally, ygx had better stage presence and was able to capture the camera more. also, because ygx is the only crew to have a b-girl and use it in their routine, the judges applauded want for doing the best they can.
2. cl - doctor pepper (wayb) + hello bitches (prowdmon). dance crews: prowdmon vs wayb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEEpZ9SrvaE&ab_channel=MnetTV
winner: prowdmon. judges shared that doctor pepper's routine is a trademark of wayb and that they should have been the standout. however, they felt like prowdmon did it better.
3. hyuna - crazy (4minute) (coca n butter) + i'm not cool (hook) + lip and hip (hook). dance crews: hook vs coca n butter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1ikpPKEA30&ab_channel=MnetTV
winner: hook. the two dance crews are VERY different in terms of style. coca n butter is described to be more hip-hop while hook is definitely more reflective of the current/newer trends. (when hook was first introduced in the show, they were known as the crew who was famous only for tiktok dances.) the judges shared that hook was more fun and interesting, given their stylistic choice of wearing the pink wigs. whereas it seemed for coca n butter, they felt like something was lacking (they showed something but it didn't feel they did.)
4. jessi - what type of xx (lachica) + nununa (holybang) + gucci (holybang). dance crews: holybang vs lachica
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtZzI11oyqc&ab_channel=MnetTV
winner: lachica. (this was the only battle where both crews came in v close pts. whereas for the other crews, there were huge point-gaps.) judges had a hard time choosing, sharing that for lachica they were more detail-oriented while holybang had better teamwork.
-
imo, i agree with the judges' choices. though i would have to say i think wayb did their routine (doctor pepper) better than prowdmon. they stood out to me then, but when it came to the second part (hello bitches), prowdmon was better. i loved lachica's performance - it was v clean + reminded me of something a kpop group would do (which like, the crew largely works with kpop acts like chungha, boa's better, etc. so it makes sense).
-
this was LONG. thank u if u do read it and post! i miss the kingdom "era" when u would post weekly reviews. the two are v different but this new mnet competition show is the only one i'm invested in. i'm not sure if it's big internationally? i know it is v popular in korea right now. while i've only seen i-fans talk about the show as it relates to chaeyeon (want) because she's an idol. - swf (streetwomanfighter) anon :]
omg this is so long and well organized, forget me writing reviews anon you should do it!! i'm not currently watching the full episodes but i've been catching the few clips that pop up in my youtube recommended occasionally, so i definitely don't have all the context but i'll take a crack at it!
ok so my assumption/from what i can tell, they have a bit of leeway to alter the competing group's choreo as needed to better suit numbers and formations. i also went and found the individual versions of these because why did they make them so small on the split screen, don't they know i'm old and wear glasses. also: MNET FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY STOP MOVING THE FUCKING CAMERA. WE DO NOT NEED SCROLLING VERTICAL BOOM SHOTS OF THIS. just keep the same lens at eye level it's really not that hard. this is like, one of the worst possible ways to shoot dance it is SO annoying. ok i'm done bitching about that let's go.
1. boa - ygx vs want i agree with the big point gap on this one, and i think want made a couple of choices that were not cohesive enough, and obviously they also got set up to fail by ygx. actually i think both groups made choices that were not particularly good, but ygx had more of the skills to back up what they were doing than want did. breaking is very difficult and requires a lot of upper body strength and a higher centre of gravity, which are two physical traits that are less common in women. personally i wouldn't have tried to break to better because although boa songs do have more of a beat than other idol music, it's still not at all the right type of music for breaking. it's gotta be fast, breakers rely on speed, because it's all about momentum; they're literally throwing themselves around the stage. here's the final from battle pro 2019 for example. the music is basically beats only; heavily lyric based music, like idol music, is bad for battling in general because there isn't a lot of consistency. i have more to say about this but i'm getting off track. basically by choosing to handicap the other team (because they don't have a bgirl at all) they shot their own bgirl in the foot because the song is too slow to properly show off her skills. i applaud want for making bold choices, like the hatwork and attempting the breaking, but ultimately when combined with their styling the performance looks disjointed. also they have some formation cohesion issues that make it look a bit like they'e struggling to keep up, even with their own choreo.
2. cl - prowdmon vs wayb i agree with the judges, i think prowdmon bodied the wayb choreo. i actually thought that was their choreo at first. they have the best presence that i've seen of all the groups and the performative "hard bitch" attitude fit in with their genre setting. wayb had several mistakes and synchronization issues that in my opinion made them look sloppy in comparision to prowdmon, who were sharper and had two more people to put into formations. 3. hyuna - hook vs coca n butter ok personally i don't like either of these choreos, but i'm agreeing with the judges here, i think hook's was the mildly more engaging. i can tell that they're very young and do mostly short form tiktok content because i see a lot of eye catching moves, but i don't see a lot of strong connective tissue between those moves. they have good ideas but they also really struggle with putting people into formation and balancing it out well. it doesn't help that they're a seven member crew going up against a four member one, so they have three extra people to figure out what to do with. there's a lot of empty space where there are members waiting in position for a group formation. it also doesn't help at all that they (mnet) appear to just be rawdogging the songs together without any kind of mixing, which is a huge detriment to groups that have to choreograph for two in their section. i'm not cool and lip and hip have two totally different feels and kudos to hook for at least trying to get them to at least visually be cohesive when mnet is go girl giving us nothing sonically. coca n butter has much more of an old school hip hop style, so putting these two up against each other was (probably a random lot draw) an interesting choice. personally i would have been more interested to see hook against want with the boa tracks and ygx against coca n butter with the hyuna tracks. however, i think the reason why coca n butter's stage felt like it was lacking is because they tried to emulate hyuna, without having the stage presence or the weirdness of hyuna. it feels like they're trying too hard and there isn't really any personal character in the piece, versus with hook, who embodied hyuna's weirdness a little more authentically and took a completely different direction. 4. jessi - lachica vs holybang lachica took this one easily, although their formations were a bit wonky for nununana, they covered it fairly well and i think they managed the best transition between songs (between nununana and gucci). they were sharper with good stage pictures and had a good gimmick with the double fringe on the gloves and hats. holy bang had some issues fitting their extra person into the what type of x choreo, but they did well with their own choreo. however, like with coca n butter and hook, because lachica took a new visual spin, this felt too derivative of jessi, so it wasn't that interesting for me to watch. i do think they are one of the groups on the stronger end of skills and presence. --- as far as visually what performances i liked the best, since would this even be a writeup by me if i didn't talk about design, here's a quick breakdown:
prowdmon - got some rudimentary setpieces, got a theme, got some fun variations on a uniform look; excellent for what i assume was limited budget capacity and also it's a dance crew show.
lachica - great continuity of effect in costuming with the fringe, and using the gloves as a mouth/lip effect was one of the most interesting choices of these routines.
hook - the pink wigs and the black latex on the checkered floor was a nice gimmick that was a bit of a nod to hyuna's weird without being too derivative. i'm not expecting a whole lot because these are dance crews but i think this was a decent amount of styling effort.
want - they made a bold choice with the hats and even though it didn't quite pay off for them i still respect it.
coca n butter/ygx/holybang/wayb - ygx and wayb did basic hip hop type styling and while it's absolutely fine, it's just boring. holybang went for a directly inspired jessi look, and although yes bodysuits, overall it wasn't that interesting either. coca n butter get props for doing a costume change and actually incorporating that into the choreo but it feels too much like it's trying to be hyuna weird with the caution tape strapped over their tits and asses.
---
as a final note/question to you, my lovely invested swf anon, what's the format of the show? are there stages like this every episode to review? if these were from the fourth one only, is there anything worth me reviewing in the first three? i'm not particularly interested in the aggressive competitive nature of the show and editing so i don't particularly want to watch the full two hour episodes, but if you think it's worthwhile for me to review stuff then i will. otherwise if there's a set structure (like with kingdom) i can seek out the stages specifically and review them if i know what i'm looking for.
#street woman fighter#swf#swf reviews#i dont really know what the international reception is. the very few people ive seen talking about it on twt#have been insane kpoppies disrespecting boa. so not the best ifan showing so far#am i back in my review era already???? we shall see#(while i still have like EIGHT different asks left. if you wonder why im taking so long to get to some of them. that is why)#(OH plus the first half of the stylings post. and the fabled fave choreos post. so many things in my drafts rn)#(but also please dont stop sending me questions it makes me very happy. the gerbil in my brain is just slow)#dear anon who just asked me about red lights and kink. mwah you are welcome to slide into my dms anytime you like#wait by putting kink in the tags did i just invite a bunch of pornbots onto this#whatever lmao#might need to start a new organizational tag for this because it's only kpop adjacent. thoughts for later#text#answers#ngl these group names are gonna drive me insane. why are all dance crew names so fucking weird

Okay so I was considering talking about this bit for animal time actually, right? But then I didnt have energy so I didnt but here is my animal "hot take", I think naked mole rats are cute, 100% genuinely I think they are cute originally when I first heard of them I didnt, but I did still like them, I thought it was so cool they had a natural resistance to cancer (which it is), I didnt really find them cute until I did an art project on them last year, we drew an animal of our choosing and I chose the naked mole rat and somewhere between shading all its line I fell in live with its wrinkles and big teeth, it's a cute animal!
I dont like a lot of fan content with the song 'my r', and certainly none I've seen, I mean all fan content is really cool and usually the writing or animation or whatever is cool, but they always have it as people stopping others from suicide when it's like heavily implied at the end that it's the same girl taking herself off each day, or maybe that's just my interpretation and its affected how i view content w/ the song? Either way, intended meaning or not, because it's the meaning I get, it makes it feel weird to see 'my r' content
Stars are one of my favorite shapes because of the motion you draw them with, it's very soothing, I really like doing it and random stars on a page are some of the most common things I doodle
When I was in daycare one summer one of the teachers taught me how to make a dog wearing a hat out if the number 25 and I'm gonna try and explain how to do that through text, so first draw the 25 then draw a curved line between the top left of the 2 and the bottom left of the 2, draw lines connecting the bottoms and tops of the 2 and 5 in 25 draw a semicircle ontop of where the 2 and 5 connect at the top, if these instructions weren't too confusing and u figured them out, u now have a dog wearing a baseball hat
That's all, have a good day everybody!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love u loudly, thanks for letting me share the random thoughts (TM) -Moth anon
MOTH, MOTH MY BELOVED I THOUGHT I ALREADY POSTED THIS BUT I DIDN'T MOTH I'M SO SORRY. For the record I said Moth could send me their random thoughts and then they sent this within like minutes, dare I say seconds. Like Moth you are oh so beloved to me I'm sorry anyways
Honestly valid!! I get that, like I'm one of those "well most animals are probably quite cute" and I like to let even the quirkier guys grow on me but I do feel like on first glance I wouldn't call these lil dudes cute. But the fact that you started to form a love for them after doing an art project on them is kinda just cute and lovely, like I love that, yeah <3
Yeah I feel like I've seen a few things with "My R" but I haven't really thought about it too much but like that makes sense, like very valid reason to feel uncomfy/have weird vibes
Stars!!!!! Stars are simply wonderful!! Doodling stars is absolutely wonderful!! Yes this this, big fan
Right I tried to draw this and I kinda failed but I gave it a google and it looks like this if any of y'all want to try!! I will probably have another go so thank you for this high class doodle concept, everyone look at this friendly guy! He's got a hat!!
Thank you Moth anon, your random thoughts (TM) have been ever so good and I appreciate you and your asks every time <333

Hi! If you don't mind me asking, where/how did you learn so much about runes? I'm interested in learning about them but I'm not quite sure where to start
hey!! of course not, it’s no trouble at all! :> so sorry for the long post ahead lads i’m just super passionate about runes fbdnsjmak
so to start with the basics, we need to cover what runes actually are. there are several runic alphabets that are used for runes, but one of the most common is the old germanic alphabet, also known as the elder futhark. historically, runic inscriptions using this alphabet have been found on jewellery, amulets, weapons, tools, and runestones. runes are highly powerful and can be used in conjunction with spells, sigils, candle magic, and other practices.
the next thing to know is that runes are not to be used for fortune-telling. runes don't offer exact answers, rather, they present different variables and suggest what might occur if you stay on the current path. as well as this, runes are known for hinting towards an answer, but leaving you to work out the bits in-between with your own intuition. this is something you'll get better at as you practice and get to know the “personality” of your set.
so how do you choose your set of runes? runes can be made from literally anything! you don't need a more expensive set made from gemstones if you don't vibe with those - i've seen runes etched onto acorn caps, metal, or pebbles off the ground. all forms are just as powerful, if not more so when you make the runes yourself! the material you choose is a completely personal choice, and you may find yourself drawn to one set more than another. if one specifically calls out to you, then it’s probably meant for you!!
now that you’ve chosen your set, it’s time to get bonded with it. you can do this by drawing a rune every day and keeping it with you, making sure to memorize its meaning and name as you do. by doing this daily you’ll get to know what each rune means and looks like. you can also take your runes with you on your travels or sleep with the bag under your pillow to bond more. also, always thank your runes for their insight. if you don’t understand what they’re telling you, be sure to thank them anyway and ask for further clarification rather than just dismissing them. lastly, you may even ask them directly how you can strengthen your relationship with them. drew isa? maybe they would like a break from readings for a while. laguz? maybe they’re asking to be cleansed. raidho? take them on a journey with you. as with any divination method the interpretation of the message is up to you, these are just some suggestions from my own experience!
but how do you cast runes?? so, the most common rune reading method is the three rune cast. to do this cast, you must first clearly picture the problem, situation, or scenario in your mind. as you do so, randomly select three runes from your rune bag and place them in front of you. depending on the situation, you may interpret these runes as "past/present/future" or "situation/challenge/action" or another variant of these.
cleanse cleanse cleanse after readings. idk about other people but my quartz runes need cleansing frequently. i ask them “is now a good time to do a reading” before proceeding with anything and if they’re in need of a cleansing they give an “angry” answer or only give me reversed runes no matter how many of them i pick out. once they’ve been given a piece of selenite or a similar crystal they immediately start giving better insight. so be sure to cleanse using crystals, moonlight, or incense when you can!
if you need anything specific covering feel free to message me!! it’s always exciting to see another person getting involved with rune casting :> i also have some stuff about runes on my witch blog @ath-ngabla
