I love thee nonhumans with disabilities, nonhumans who don’t use gear, who can’t or don’t do quadrobics.

Recovering or recovered zoophiles, nonhumans who are also furries, young nonhumans, adult nonhumans, queer nonhumans, physical nonhumans, nonhumans with delusions. I love all thee neurodivergent and not nonhumans, nonhumans with “gross” urges, nonhumans who experience their nonhumanity in a way that is less common. Nonhumans who feel connection to humanity, nonhumans who love humans and nonhumans who don’t.

Domesticated animals, wild animals, nonhumans who aren’t animals at all. Nonhumans with many kin types, nonhumans with few. Nonhumans with common kin types, nonhumans with uncommon kin types. Newly awakened nonhumans, those who have known their identify for a while and those who are still not entirely sure.

i’ve been awakened as a therianthrope since early 2023 . and i’ve changed a lot since then . my gender , my theriotypes , everything . 2 years isn’t that huge in the long run , but it sure does feel that way .

my experience as a therian ? confusing . upsetting . joyful . strange . comforting . it’s everything good . it’s everything bad . it’s everything in between .

i often see other beings say their experience with therianthropy is [ usually strictly ] negative or positive . mine lingers in between .

i am aware that therianthropy is a very individual experience , though .

and speaking of that , i used to think i wasn’t a therian .

at first , i identified as one . but then , impostor syndrome got really bad , so i thought i was an otherlink [ which , i still hold that identity , but not to the extent that i previously did ] and that i had been faking therianthropy . i felt like i had been faking because after hearing of therians , i was like “ i think i may be one ” and i felt like i had chosen , even though i hadn’t .

only last year did resume identifying as a therian , which came after lots of consideration .

i have many theriotypes . though i mainly only discuss or post about my dog , coyote , and wolf theriotypes .

my shifts , when i [ rarely ] get them , are often rather intense . i most usually get phantom shifts , but mental and sensory shifts occur too .

phantom shifts don’t affect me that much . sensory and mental shifts are usually the most intense for me .

i most often get ear , tail , wing , and snout phantom shifts . my legs will sometimes feel like those of one of my theriotype’s too .

mental shifts for me are like i temporarily forget about my humanity , lost in the feeling of limbs that aren’t there . [ phantom and mental shifts often go paw in paw for me ]

sensory shifts are a bit stranger for me . they are almost always paired with ear or teeth phantom shifts . when i get tooth shifts , i chew on anything i can .

i have an urge to bite , tear away skin and fur / feathers / scales , gnaw on bones , and lap away blood . [ the blood part is also connected to my vampire kintype though ] most of my theriotypes are animals that hunt , so i can see why i feel that way .

speaking of hunting , packs . i long to be surrounded by others of my kind . being surrounded by humans makes me feel like an oddity , like i shouldn’t be there . i should be surrounded by other wolves . other canines . other animals .

therianthropy means everything to me . it affects me all the time , whether negatively or positively .

i used to wish it would go away , so i wouldn’t have to deal with the shifts and the species dysphoria .

but now i wouldn’t give it up for anything . i am my therianthropy . i am my theriotypes .

I’m kin with a character who’s a fictional race called valuka shuna, which are human/fennec fox hybrids.

I was similar in appearance to what people would consider a kemonomimi, with a human body and fox ears and tail. the thing is, I still consider myself a fennec fox therian (not psychologically or spiritually but… almost like a secret third thing?)

my question is, would that still be ok to be? should I just.. say I used to be a valuka shuna and leave it at that? or can I do what I want and just say I’m a fennec fox because of it?

My dear fox, you can absolutely do what you want. You can use whatever labels that you feel fit you the most. Therianthropy, otherkinity, and all their congruent labels are all meant to be personal to the user- to define who they feel they truly are. If you found peace with a label and it makes you euphoric from using it, then you're on the right track! The label may change over time, or it may not, and both of those are valid. I am coming back to my most wolf self; I used to run through the grass and chase, I used to howl at the moon, I used to be free to embrace who I was, even if I felt so other, I was not afraid, although it hurt not to be able to sleep with my nose tucked under my tail.

I just started identifying as a vampire before I blocked all this out of my mind for many, many years, but I am trying to see if that still feels right. I know now I am a wolf and angelkin, maybe more.

has anyone else seen the controversy over species affirming packers? its been all over my feed and i have a lot of thoughts about it. the person that originally made them is actually my mutual on tiktok (where this whole thing originated) and i honestly think its not that big of a deal 😭

for context, a user named cyrusbarks on tiktok asked if anyone was interested in him making species affirming packers for alterhumans. a bunch of people were, so he made them and posted about it. they're sewn by hand with fabric and stuffing. they're not excessively detailed. since then, a LOT of people have been accusing him of being a zoophile and a predator because of this, which is insane to me.

first of all, packing isnt sexual and never has been. the only reason people think it's sexual is because it's genital related, which is just not correct. genitals arent sexual, and wanting species affirming gear isn't either. its no different from human packers made for trans folks already. but for some reason, people think that this specifically has sexual intent, despite not being usable in any sexual context.

second, a BUNCH of people have been misgendering him. Cyrus uses he/him and bark/barks pronouns and everyone ive seen talking about it has referred to him as They or She, both of which are misgendering. one person i was talking to literally said that he deserved to be misgendered. their exact words were "if someone's being odd... they don't deserve respect". i don't think i have to explain why this is an absurd thing to say.

third, people have been coming at ME for defending him, coming to my tiktok page calling me a zoophile. this is not only incorrect, but so, so hurtful. i love my pets so much, and being accused of being attracted to them is absolutely disgusting. my cat has gotten me through the worst times in my life, and people are implying that im abusing them because of my opinions on a stupid online controversy. its absurd.

my first mistake was expecting maturity and nuance on tiktok, i think. if you have any differing opinions or viewpoints, please please message or comment!!! i do genuinely want to discuss this topic and understand other people's viewpoints, as i feel very strongly about this. please just be respectful-- if you're just going to insult me, im not going to engage in conversation.

I'm in a sad moo mood so I'm gonna vent a bit about the cattle I miss dearly and introduce them

Black steer is my personal actual companion and son (aside the one due in may) his name is Ichabod Nathaniel Crane but as time goes on his nickname Boo boo takes over if not that we call him Icky,he's still alive and I know where he is I'd say he is 9 now if not 10 I think possibly 10 wow how time flies.

I will make a post dedicated to Icky specifically but I miss him the most out of then all look at the handsome boy!!

These were my neighbors cattle though I always muvh more considered the cattle themselves my true neighbors,there have been other ones there over the years but for this post I'll keep to this specific group/time frame aside Blackberry she was ALWAYS there until the very last day for us both ;^;

This was my Moo crew everyone knew they were my freinds,my passion and connection to cattle is next level I don't just get sad about animals I used to know or can't hardly ever visit these are freinds who are gone and a child whom I can't see it devastates me perhaps right now it's a little bit the hormones making it so overwhelmingly deep but trust when I say these animals and their absence effects me deeply.

I love my stiffness,figurines,drawings and gear so much it really does make me happy but nothing can truly replace the real company of a fellow bovine just being near or hearing them Moo.
