You know it's bad when you attempt to make yourself reach out to a person you know would be able to help you navigate it and every time your brain screams at you, "they don't actually give a fuck about you and no one wants your input anyway any just delete the message entirely it's not like they were going to actually check your message this week anyway why do you even bother trying no one has ever really cared and you're deluding yourself if you think letting them see that message would have even made a difference all they would have done is said 'sorry' and then left you on read cuz they don't actually want to support you this is just annoying like you always are you're bothering everyone by just existing-" and then you're sobbing in the shower.

Bruce spat out his coffee in shock. Jason chuckled.

Bruce (frantic): You better not be lying to me because if you have baby pictures of him I will pay you whatever price you ask.

Jason: Um okay I have about 10 I can give you now so $10,000 for each one.

Bruce: Stay there, gotta get my phone and I'll transfer the funds to your bank account.

Bruce ran out of the room leaving Jason Todd with Alfred watching the entire interaction, impressed.

Alfred: Jason, how did you get baby pictures?

Jason: Remember, I knew about his existence before Bruce ever did. I visited the kid for the first 9 years before Bruce found out about him. Talia paid me to take photos of him for memories.

Alfred: That's very wholesome of you.

Jason (confused): I said Talia paid me.

Alfred: Money or not, you did a good deed. Now Master Bruce can have a few photos and trust me, he's been begging Talia for baby pictures for years. Be proud of yourself.

Jason smiled.

Jason: I appreciate you saying that.

Alfred: I mean every word of it. You're welcome.

The Ryoko Kui interview's reception is such a disaster over a pretty normal (yet still flawed) interview between a non-Japanese fan and Japanese artistic. This is discourse for discourse's sake, and it's no surprise that almost every Twitter user I've looked at who's using this interview to parade Kui around as a goated mangaka standing strong against Western ideology is anti-trans.

Like, I do think the interview was kinda wonky with its focus on fandom culture, which Kui clearly didn't have much interest in. But sometimes that happens. Sometimes interactions between two people, especially a fan and a creator, two people who view and interact with a piece of media in completely opposite perspectives, don't click. Does this really need to get blown up into a "West vs. East culture war" issue.

Anyways, Kui saying "I don't consider my audience's interpretations when writing. I leave it to their imaginations, but I have my own read on things too" is the healthiest, most normal thing an artist/writer who wants a non-parasocial audience could say. Artists and writers use this line all the time. If Kui didn't enjoy autistic Laius or Farcille headcanons, she would have probably voiced/signalled her discomfort, like she did on the topic of Senshi fanservice. Overall, Kui handled the interview really well. Props to her to sticking to her guns and keeping a healthy disconnect from the fandom. While I think the interviewer could've/should've been more tactful and restrained, the flaws in their questions is not a symptom of the woke mind virus trying to wriggle its way into the pure Japanese psyche. It's the sign of an over-eager fan who sees a piece of fiction differently than its creator.

Whenever people talk about lack of media literacy they always bring up people who think a character doing bad things=the author endorsing said bad things which are very annoying but I feel like we're ignoring the opposite, equally annoying side of the discourse who think if you criticize the inclusion/depiction of dark/sensitive topics in any way it’s bc you’re a dumb baby who can’t separate fiction from reality. and it's like no I know I’m not supposed to clap and cheer at violence against women I’m criticizing how much of it there is. Penny stardewvalley makes me so sad because she's SO sensitive to, like, basically everything you tell her (telling her that you can't stand children while two children are nearby is a pretty lousy move but -1500 friendship?? being a jerk to other characters' faces typically loses you about 50 points, and if you choose the option labeled "creepy" and ask Leah for a kiss in her 2 heart event she physically hits you and kicks you out of her house but that's only -100 friendship…) and so if you want to befriend her it's a whole lot of lying and tiptoeing around her feelings (2 hearts: George was right but saying that makes her feel bad. 6 hearts: her food sucks but even if you try to be polite about it she feels like a failure; only a bald-faced lie pleases her. 8 hearts: saying you don't want to be tied down with a family loses you a little bit of friendship and she's only happy if you say you want kids) and I can't help but think she's a product of her environment. She lives in a trailer with only her mother, who gets drunk every night and has something of a temper. Penny's like a skittish rescue animal who won’t even come out from hiding under something unless you leave her lots of treats

I’m convinced that people who hate Mabel have a) never watched the show and/or b) don’t have siblings. Because until they encountered Bill Cipher for the first time, there was nothing to suggest Dipper’s obsession with the journals was more important or valid than Mabel just wanted to have a normal summer with a whirlwind romance. And even after incident with the portal Dipper and Ford actively keep everything secret from Mabel and Stan so she has no idea of the stakes or what Bill is capable of. Add to that that her dreams of the future were all suddenly crumbling around her all at once, and it is perfectly reasonable if not expected that she would fall for an immortal chaos demon’s tricks.

Also, most of the stuff involving the journal that goes wrong is Dipper’s fault but he still pretends like he and Mabel are in it together. And those of you who are siblings know that Mabel takes it extremely well. Like if I had accidentally sold my body as a puppet to a demon and the only way I could ask my sibling for help was through a sock puppet, I would expect them to help, but only after they spent a good half hour laughing and making fun of me with the additional consequence would be that any time I ask them for a small favor in the future, they would remind me that they were the one to save me from my stupid mistake, so no, they won’t pass me the salt.

(Also, can we just take a moment to see the giant double standards when it comes to the romances that Dipper and Mabel’s have. When Mabel pursues a romantic people treat it as irrelevant and getting in the way of the plot even when it doesn’t. But when Dipper tries to win Wendy’s affection, people expect Mabel to drop everything, sacrifice her pet, mess with time travel to help set up a scenario which Dipper can win a carnival game as a flex.)

Literally all that was needed was another season for My Lady Jane. Just one more season to give the show a good conclusion. It's not like we're asking for multiple seasons of it (although that would be great) but one more would have been enough..

How did Prime get so much power to decide to cancel it when the show has barely been out for 2 months, and people haven't had a chance to discover it yet??

I feel everything is so fast-paced now. If something new doesn't immediately get the reception that they wanted, then any chance of it being renewed gets wiped out completely.

In a world where likes, clicks, views, follower counts are given too much importance, is there any hope left at all?...😞

Just thinking about Joke seeing Jack with Rose and instead of being jealous, since he has low self-esteem and thinks he is a burden with bad luck who is unlovable and stupid, he'll probably just be really sad about it and think Jack would be really happy with Rose because Rose could make Jack's dreams come true with her wealth and good luck since she is lovable and smart.

Then I start thinking about how he left Jack and Rose on the street last time because he thought they would be better together, but he promised he wouldn't leave Jack this time, so now he's sitting at the table, alone, waiting for Jack to come home, but Jack is too tired to sit and talk because he has been out shopping with Rose all day and looks so happy in all his new clothes in his new job while Joke looks so sad because he probably believes he could leave now and Jack would be fine with Rose because she is beautiful and great and he is bad luck and a burden.

But I want to hug him and tell him that Jack wore HIS color. Jack asked him to stay there. Jack made him promise to never leave. Jack loves him.

He always has.

And he always will.

So I'd rather have a jealous Joke who gets upset that Jack is looking at another person than sad Joke who thinks everyone is better off without him because the thought alone of Joke believing he isn't the absolute best boy in all the land already has me in my feels.

If this is how I'm acting just thinking about sad Joke, I won't be able to handle it if he is actually sad, so I'm begging this show to act like a pre-2022 BL and make Joke ridiculously jealous over nothing. Don't make my boy crumble into himself and start believing the voices in his head that sound a lot like his dad. Don't hurt me like that again.
