I try to come up with heterosexual explanations for hilson scenes in case I’m delusional but then you casually drop something like this and BOOM! it’s almost like they made sure we thought they were involved.

they cut this scene from the pilot because it was too gay!!!!!! too explicit!!!!! stop looking at each other like that!! stop playing soft and heartfelt music!!!!

What do you think the idea of Paul’s sexuality shifted from / to? Do you think there’s been a shift from thinking straight to bi?

Genuinely asking, I can never tell what the popular opinion is!

Maybe I'm completely wrong here, but my impression when I joined bug tumblr was that there was no consensus re:Paul's sexuality. It was an open debate and most opinions were seen as valid even if there was disagreement.

At some point, there started to be weird backlash against the concept of Paul being straight – it was seen as "defending" his heterosexuality (rather than defending the concept of taking people at their word in general?), as an inherently "lame stance" (rather than a conclusion one could draw about him like any other), or even directly called homophobic because it opposed the idea of "two men being unapologetically into each other" (no matter how much people actually tried to explain why they thought the way they did).

"No hetero explanation for this" used to be kind of a joke but it isn't much anymore – and it's certainly not actually an invitation to provide an alternative reading of stuff (which is why I find it incredibly frustrating).

Now, it appears to be deeply unpopular to simply say "the things Paul has said about himself ring true to me". Maybe it's not actually the majority opinion that Paul was definitely not straight, but voicing any other stance is definitely rare at this point.

Didn’t realize it before but the explanation to girlfriend, not just a fun lyrics but also that gay people can’t live openly so they are in heterosexual relationships. That lyrics has deeper meaning.

So much to unpack from that interview. That’s why it is so important to let artists talk about their art and that person did really good in asking engaging questions and Omar in being transparent and passionate about things he cares about the most. That’s how you do promo. It was a lovely read for us fans because we learned a few things like the deeper meaning of girlfriend and for new fans who will discover an artist who deeply cares about his fanbase and tries to be always true to his words.

This part broke my heart because I have seen some nasty comments about his tweets.

More interviews like that please.

Sometimes I feel like fanon Jarlaxle is a bit exaggerated. And then I re-read canon an realise he is just like that.

But also, Entreri is the one saying Jarlaxle looks good here, Jarlaxle is just confirming his eyes works. There is absolutely no heterosexual explanation, and I wish they would have run with it.
