One of the biggest things I value when picking a game engine iffor my projects is how plentiful - and how accessible - the documentation and community support is for it. It's probably the biggest reason why I have stuck with Unity for years over Godot or Unreal; when I encounter an issue I know throughout its ~15 year lifetime someone has probably encountered my issue before and posted online (whether that be substack or Unity Answers/Forums) about how they were banging their head against it too, and some smart people have not only explained why some things work the way they do but also how to fix it. As part of my process it's pretty integral to troubleshooting when I encounter problems and can seriously save bacon when working on shipping projects that aren't just tiny prototypes or experiments.

When I played with Godot I found there wasn't a ton of information available when I started to run into hyperspecific issuesand I've generally found Unreal's forums are typically useless at the best of times and straight up broken at the worst of times, so I've never been eager to jump there either (I suspect this is due to it primarily being used by larger studios who keep a lot of that stuff internal and under wraps).

It might not matter for some people but I think this element is key for my workflow for shipping something, since a blocker on a project - especially later in development - can easily cause some real intense problems, and sometime you don't want to have to figure out how to reinvent the wheel.

i'm doing very well!! i haven't cut out coffee completely bc i really don't think i can (it's been one of my daily pleasures for SO long), but right now i only have 1-2 espresso shots and i don't even have it every day anymore

also remembering that i used to have 4-6 shots per drink, sometimes multiple times a day, makes me want to throw up now which is probably a good sign ajkdhdsh

Jorgen’s usually not the one in charge of assigning godchildren. There’s an entire department that weighs and classifies potentail Godkids to the right Fairy. Although it’s on strike at the moment.

So Jorgen has to do it by hand, until the union negotiations are resolved. Turns out trying to use paperclips is very hard. Itty bitty paperclips. Big muscular biceps. Not a good combo.

the suki zuko bodyswap AU is really funny because the only two times the Gaang has actually met Zuko when he's himself were:

a.) when they first met him at the South Pole, and he was hamming it up pretending to be a bad guy

b.) the period of time between Suki going her separate way at Ba Sing Se to stay with the other Kyoshi Warriors and when Sokka and Zuko broke her out of Boiling Rock

which is not an insignificant period of time, but they've still spent more time around Zuko pretending to be Suki than they actually have Zuko just being himself. Zuko keeps accidentally bringing up stuff that he experienced while he was Suki, and just hastily saying that she told him about it when they question him.

in hindsight... they're kind of surprised they didn't catch on sooner. zuko's great at pretending, but he's a terrible liar.

Whumper-Turned-Caretaker CYOA 12

You chose to try to comfort Whumpee without waking them using gentle touches.

You tiredly heave yourself out of bed with a grunt. You try to be quieter as you lower yourself next to the air mattress Whumpee’s sleeping on.

You hesitantly reach out and touch their hair. When that doesn’t disturb or wake them, you start petting their head lightly. You gently rub their arms and shoulders in a way you hope feels comforting. You stick to those areas; you don’t want to do something that might be creepy while they’re sleeping.

It seems to help somewhat, but doesn’t beat the nightmare entirely. Whumpee gets stiller and their whimpers get a little softer and farther between. That’s probably as good as you’re going to get. You get back in your bed, but keep an ear out in case things get worse again. You don’t hear any signs of that, and eventually you fall back asleep.

When you wake up in the morning, Whumpee’s breathing is even and gentle. They’re sound asleep. Any of the night’s intense dreams have passed by now.

You’re hungry; you want to get up and fix breakfast. But you’re not sure about leaving Whumpee in here on their own. What if you can’t trust them unsupervised? What if they wake up alone and it frightens them not knowing what you’ve gone to do? What if they’re confused when they come to in an unfamiliar location?
