"Be Our Guest" original draft storyboards vs final film (💖)

The song was originally written by Ashman and Menken to be sung by the enchanted objects to Maurice instead of Belle. However, story artist Bruce Woodside felt that the song would make more sense if it was sung to Belle, the main character, as opposed to secondary character Maurice, and directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale agreed.

#ask #digital art #I truly am grateful for the amount of people that not only read my journal-essay-thoughts on my comics #but also take the time to respond and/or write their own thoughts on the themes and scenes.#I really love taking apart stories and seeing how the threads weave together. Like flipping over an embroidered tapestry!#Some people thinks it ruins the illusion of what a story is - to me it *elevates* the experience to see the seams.#It's like knowing how they did the practical effects and stunts in a movie. It give you a deeper appreciation for the work that went into i #Thank you for acknowledging the work I put into every part of this project!#When I started drawing I....well...wasn't really the strongest with my visuals.#Humorously recapping scenes played off of my strengths (silly billying) and also just made the project *fun*.#But right from the start I also wanted to take my time and marinate on the themes and journal my thoughts.#I never really expected people to read them!#What might seem like a quick comic takes me several hours and I often spend a good bit of time with my tag essays too.#I owe so much to everyone who's dropped by to cheer me on and make this blog into part of the community.#to those who just lurk or drop by once in a blue moon - I thank you as well for coming along for the journey.#So even though it adds extra time; these little essays are a treat for you B*)

I grew a spine

#well!#this is my first attempt at uhh oil painting animation and I think it's pretty good for the first time!#I see a lot of things that I can improve next time #yes - this was made with tlt in mind because I am very interested in experimenting with visuals of necromancy and stuff #but I don't know if i should tag it... because it doesn't look too connected yet?#animation #my art #btw these 5 seconds have almost 50 frames. I think I've spent around eight hours painting and four editing #I just took pictures with my phone so light and perspective were changing. it's FAR from perfect. but it works to just try out a technique #my animation

having thoughts and feelings about perc’ahlia and their could-be-but-would-never-allow-the-other-to-destroy-themselves-enough-to-actually-become-the-briarwoods parallel/foilism. particularly with vex and delilah and potential places this season might go but also just vex’s “it’s like i’m a bad omen” and the fact that like. vex has full awareness of her feelings for percy and alludes to them to him. but then after she has sex with him it is so so compelling to me that vex is like. this is all i can have with him and i’ll take just this even if maybe it’s flying too close to the sun. and something something the shot of delilah embracing sylas after she’s brought him back, looking over his shoulder into a mirror where it looks like she isn’t holding anything at all and just . god. the like oppositional threads of delilah refusing to lose sylas and holding on tight at any cost and vex holding herself so far from percy to deny the pain that would come with losing/hurting him and the like. venn diagram cross over of something is lost anyway.

#this is almost certainly standing out to me because of the simple like. visual aesthetic thing of #vex and delilah dark haired women with designs inspired by laura in some form and thus looking not dissimilar #but like . delilah’s hair being down in the only scene where we see her as vulnerable as when she brings sylas back #vex’s hair down while she (on my read) pretends to be asleep while percy touches her with care that is even more intimate than the sex they #just had . idk man it’s rotting me #i’m just always obsessed with vex and percy both kind of falling for each other because they see how terrible the other one is #and they see how terrible the other thinks themselves to be and they both go. ‘well you aren’t as bad as i am.#and i won’t let you worsen yourself’#versus the briarwoods which are like. that but full send Let’s Get Worse babey #anyway. this isn’t super coherent i’m just vibing #vex’ahlia #percy de rolo #delilah briarwood #sylas briarwood #percy + vex #delilah + sylas #perc’ahlia #critical role #tlovm #tlovm spoilers

#i'm able to express my thoughts very well in text bcz im abt to actually see and process what im saying and think about what to say next #so my brain has an easier time keeping track of my train of thought #however when i talk irl i dont have that visual processer to help me #so i have to auditorily process what im saying #also when i talk irl my mouth cant keep up with my brain #and since im just bad at articulating words/speech in general #that alongside my delayed processing skills results in me tripping over my words A LOT #i end up stuttering a bazillion times and needing to backtrack to rearrange my sentences #cin has been listening to epic the musical lately and she asked me to give her a rundown of the story on call today #so i was ATTEMPTING to but the words kept jumbling in my mouth #i repeated words i stuttered and either spoke too fast for me to pronounce shit correctly or had to pause for a moment to recollect myself #i am SO BAD at talking its so embarrassing actually #i wasnt even nervous or anything i just got too excited and couldnt process my thoughts correctly #WHY IS SPEAKING SO DIFFICULT!!!!!#anywhizzle thank u for coming to my tedtalk #my art #tmnt #tmnt mm #tottmnt #mm donnie #tottmnt donnie #donsona #shitpost #<- ig i didnt put that much effort into the doodle
