✨ What’s a fic you’ve posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (Or simply a fic you wish got more credit.)

Breathing life into it again probably would mean “updating it for the first time in over a year”, but I’d love to have more attention on The Solo Girls, which is my sequel to Epic Love and a continued rewrite of the sequel trilogy. Having the opportunity to explore the next generation while having Han and Leia very much alive and happily together, and Luke never having really left the fight either is pretty exciting to me, and I’m looking forward to finishing the latest chapter and spending some time with Rey in particular.

🤍 what’s one fic of yours you think people didn’t “get”?

I’m not sure if people didn’t “get” it, but I’d say definitely I get less attention to my fics that are set in the post-ROTJ timeline. Which might just be people wanting to avoid any hints of bad things befalling our beloved Han and Leia. I don’t know if folks are as attached to things like The Solo Girls because many folks want to just avoid any connection to the sequel trilogy, even a repaired version of the ST, and I can respect that. But otherwise, I think folks mostly seem to get what I’m trying to do.

Sunset Beach Walk: Slip into your cutest sundress and wander along the beach as the sun sets. You could even pack yourself some of your fave sparkling drinks and some fruits! and everybody always feels better after they spend some time by the water.

Picnic in the Park: Pack a basket with your favorite snacks, a cozy blanket, and a good book. Find a shady spot under a tree 🍓📖

Yoga in the Garden: Roll out your mat in your backyard or a nearby garden. Breathe in the fresh air and stretch your body 🧘‍♀️🌸

Farmers’ Market Feast: Visit a local farmers’ market and pick out fresh, seasonal ingredients. Then, head home and cook a delicious, wholesome meal just for you.

Ice Cream Parlor Indulgence: Treat yourself to a visit to an ice cream parlor.

12. Do you have a playlist for your current WIP(s)? Share it?

I don’t have a specific playlist, but here are a few songs I’ve been listening to that are inspiring me for some of my current WIPs:

For The Solo Girls:

I Found by Amber Run (for several characters)

Shut Up and Drive by Rihanna (for my flyboys and adrenaline junkies in the Resistance)

Technicolor Beat by Oh Wonder (for some folks falling in love)

Paradise by Coldplay (in particular for Rey, but several characters as well)

Come What May - from “Moulin Rouge” by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman (I have a headcanon that there may have been occasional sing-a-long moments at home in the Organa-Solo-Skywalker-Antilles family, especially where Jaina is concerned)

For Han/Leia more generally:

The Dark by ZZ Ward (for Leia in particular but also for the way Han understands her)

19. Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.

From an upcoming one-shot tentatively called, “Another time”:

[I was asked to assist with the efforts to troubleshoot the speeders], Chewie replied. [They think the freezing problem may be related to a faulty moisture barrier–]

“Yeah, yeah, okay, I’m comin’,” Han said, but Chewie stopped him.

[I do not believe they require your assistance], Chewie said. [You are free to bother the Little Princess this evening instead.]

Granted, Chewie had a lot more expertise on complex electrical systems than Han did, but the usual way this worked was that Chewie examined the systems and provided advice, Han helped translate, and once their little consultation was done he and Chewie peeled off to win a bunch of credits off the Rogues or whoever else was around for sabacc.

[Threepio will provide translation, as needed], Chewie said, as if anticipating Han’s protest. [Their Shryiiwook is improving. And our usual card players are away, in any case.]

Right. Luke and the Rogues were away on a mission.

“‘M not gonna go bother anybody,” Han protested mildly.

[Sometimes she needs bothering], Chewie observed. [She will burn herself out if she does not rest. Or eat.]

Fine, maybe he would go see Leia later. Someone had to keep her on her toes.
