hot take transmascs do face a kind of oppression specific to them but it’s not transandrophobia or whatever ppl are calling it it’s just toxic masculinity and regular misogyny
#idk if i’m phrasing this properly but w/e#uhhh transmisogyny is abt the specific intersection between transphobia and misogyny#what transmascs face is in a way also an intersection but it’s not defined enough to be its own thing#it’s just the standard ‘you’re not man enough’ misogyny. just transphobic this time#that doesn’t make it less important or anything. it’s just how it is :/#i think people are very nervous about being overlooked in the fight for human rights#and we tend to think that if we’re More Oppressed then our needs will be met sooner#and if we Aren’t Oppressed Enough then we will be ignored#but like. nah#it’s like. ok forgive me if this analogy is ham-fisted i have not planned this out#white women have to deal with combatting specific stereotypes and forms of oppression from within white communities#but this is different from the specific intersection of racism and misogyny that woc face#misogynoir is a thing. misogyblanc is not#does that work? is that analogy solid?#like…. there’s ‘white girl’ stereotypes just like how there’s ‘trans guy’ stereotypes#and those stereotypes are often genuinely hurtful and should not be okay#but it’s different from how woc and transfems have to handle intersecting bigotry#obvi there are slight differences here. white women aren’t really hurt by racism but transmascs can be hurt by misogyny#due to not passing or being closeted or what have you#but overall it’s the same concept#before anyone asks. i am tme but not transmasc either#i’m genderfluid so. all over the place

I'm just frustrated
Running a clone of the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, alienating pro-Palestine voters, adopting conservative policies on immigration, doing virtually nothing to distinguish her platform from Biden's despite his unpopularity, what the fuck were they thinking
All of that in tandem with Americans becoming more and more conservative overall & Trump recruiting Kick streamers, Joe Rogan heads, and Elon fans man it just kills me
Posts about her losing primarily because she's a Black woman are so unserious 😭 we cant chalk this one up to misogynoir I fear it was a bad campaign made worse by the sheer momentum of fascism

I wanna touch on a couple things I noticed from the asks that are being sent regarding the current discourse. About a month ago I received this ask, wanting me to 'name, names' after I made some generalized post about something or another (probs racism per usual because that's been consistent)
What I don't make clear outside of the vetted and trusted people I speak to daily, is I usually send messages to the person I'm talking about in hopes to advise that something was not hitting. I’ve blocked a couple ppl whenever I feel like my point was dismissed because I don’t got the time baby
Occasionally, I'll do anon if I'm just not in the mood for potential issues if the ask gets answered publicly and the reason for that is what I'm about to show you.
Tumblr media
This is an ask my mutual @kyletogaz got after expressing frustration about the situation/lack of apology and so is this and this. And this is a link to @ungodlybre post on all the asks she's gotten in the last few days after she commented on a post about the Mace fic. I just received an ask a few seconds ago yall can look at as well
This is the post my friend/mutual kiko made that I reblogged and essentially got the ball rolling on the current convo about how Mace/black characters are depicted in fiction. Kiko has been one of the few other poc people providing links and information on what the issue is with the fic.
I noticed the glaring tonal difference in how non black people like Kiko, who originally brought up the issue, are in comparison to the black female bloggers that I referred to earlier, after they expressed frustration about the new crop of fandom shit.
I couldn't find the ask that @/Fulltacs (a non black person) answered when asked about why the writer was getting heat, but I read the ask and it was actually pretty respectful towards fulltacs, while being incredibly dismissive/rude when referring to Bre (@/ungodlybre)
I've seen several of my white mutuals repeat in their tags/posts the issue about the fic and what not. I have yet to see them receive the kind of directly antagonistic asks from anons who claim to be black/poc with the intent to shut down or convince us to stop talking about the writer. I’m not gonna get into digital blackface or blackfishing but I have my doubts on these anons being racially black.
Overall this is all an example of something called racial gaslighting but specifically misogynoir
Misogynoir is a form of racial microaggression towards black women where race and gender meet. It usually stems from implicit bias, which is the reason why people had a problem with the fic in the first place. Not the damn kink. or even the unwitting use of an anti black slur.
The continued dismissing about word use/forgiving the author and the overall vitriolic tone asking these black women to educate or saying things like: ' You are a bully’ ‘shut up because it's not that big of a deal’, ‘the writer tried or I'm black and-' is just an example of how black women are spoken to on and outside the internet and why many of us have chosen to not directly say anything about racism outside of private messages.
It’s why Kiko and the mutual that dm’d @/auspicoustidings are latinas who’ve chosen to address the situation as an act of solidarity when Jess (kyletogaz) and I were excited to read the Mace fic and were unsettled by it
"the intersectional nature of Black women’s identities triggers a particularized stereotype or trope of the “Angry Black Woman” and explains how this trope is often invoked in aggressive encounters to deflect attention from the aggressor and to project blame onto the target." - A quote From this article
“racial microaggressions are subtle and everyday slights and insults that can include insensitive comments based on an array of racial assumptions … as well as the minimization or denial of the racialized experiences of people of color.” - From this study on Perceived Gendered Racial Microaggressions Experienced by Black Women.
I don’t have the time or the desire to do a crash course on misogynoir and the ways implicit bias shows up in real life and fandom. What I can say is if you need or want the visibly/vocally black people in this fandom to shut the fuck up right now, while non black people (including the author) are being afforded a sense of kindness/assumption of innocence and well doing for speaking up, than you are apart of an anti black problem
Those black bloggers said innocuous shit like “long suffering sigh” or “hate to see it” and are still getting hate and that is the reason we are saying many fics about black characters like Kyle who is often disregarded, make us uncomfortable . This kind of bias is a dog whistle only those who have been raised black/poc see irl and it’s present in the way people write fics.
My ask is for people to take a second and really ask yourselves if you think this is a safe space for Black/non black poc people to educate on racist tropes in writing and then I wanna know if you even realized that before I said something

Sooo I just watched Challengers and I have so many thoughts!!! Warning: this is a long one..
Honestly, I have seen so many interesting takes on this movie (though I'll mainly be discussing one I've seen a lot that I don't agree with at all) and I figured I'd throw my two cents in there lol.
So first and foremost: Tashi is a vital character to this film, as well as Patrick and Art's relationship as we see it int he future.
I"ve seen so many posts saying that "Patrick and Art should just get together, they're the one's that are really in love" or just overall downplaying the role that Tashi has in the film, I don't know if this is just that thing that some mlm shippers do where they erase the woman in the situation so that can just ship the two men, misogynoir, or something else entirely, but this takes generally doesn't make any sense to me. Obviously Patrick and Art loved each other, even before they met Tashi. They had been best friends for years and their friendship was definitely homoerotic at the LEAST, but the idea that they would have been romantic without her is not true. They had never had any sort of romantic interaction, besides jerking off in a room together in separate beds when they were twelve, until Tashi prompted them too in the hotel. I don't think that would have happened otherwise. Beside the fact I do believe that there was some romantic yearning from both of them at times, they were not in the place to actually explore what that means. Patrick had a girlfriend, Art was clearly not in a place to confront the possibility of a sexual situation between them, and they were headed in two completely different directions in life. Tashi being there with them in that moment in the hotel, with them hanging on to her every word, every command allowed for them to feel comfortable being sexual with each other in that moment. Even if she had left that hotel room and the three of them had never interacted again, the night would have been brushed off as just something they did when they were drunk to hook up with a girl, it wouldn't have amounted to relationship, and even if it had she was still an integral part. She is the catalyst to so much of the tension between them, the sex that they might've shared in that hotel room that night if things had continued, and the sex they share on the tennis court 13 years later.
Another hot take: I do think that Tashi loved both of them at different points of the movie, though she loved tennis most of all.
I've seen some people say that the only real love that exists within the triangle is between Patrick and Art, and that Tashi only loved tennis. While I absolutely agree that tennis was the love of her life, I don't at all think that she never had love for Patrick or Art. One of the reasons why she was so bothered by Art saying that Patrick didn't love her when they were eating together at Stanford, was because she DID love him. She puts up a front, she acts like things don't bother her even when they do (is it clear that this trio need to work on their communication lol?) but she does like to show it. I think that this is also evident when her and Patrick are making out in her dorm later. I think some people think that her trying to giver him pointers on how to play better are her trying to be mean or vindictive but I also think this is a sign of how much she cares bout him. Her dad was her tennis coach, so you can imagine that she grew up in a household where oftentimes the love that was expressed was in conversations about how she played and how she could play better. And she's passionate about the sport and she has so much love for the game. For her, love and tennis are tethered in a way. The fact that she watched his games and was so eager to give him tips and pointers was evidence that she cared imo. And how that quickly turned into a fight between them is her putting up her walls, becoming defensive, most likely because she still has Art's words in the back of her head, and it bothers her.
As for Art, I feel like this could go without saying, but she married him. She married him and had a kid with him, and she didn't have to do that lol. She could've just coached him, we know that she's coached players without having a romantic relationship with them, and she did a pretty damn good job to, so she could've done the same with him. We actually get a really nice scene between them at the diner and we get a small glimpse of them beyond tennis, and you realize what it is that sees in him and why she would be interested in him romantically and not just as a coach to player.
I feel like people misconstrue her disdain and loathing that she has for them as her not loving them. She loves them and at times hates them. She tells Art in the beginning that she would do anything to be able to play again, and yet, here these two are, one who has lost his confidence and motivation for the game, and another whose laziness and carelessness prevent him from reaching his highest potential. Two people who are wasting their greatest privilege and she despises them for it.
Annnnnnd last take (I didn't expect this to be so long): Art is a snake.
Now, don't get me wrong. I love Art. I love all of these characters, and in my head they all quarantined together during covid, found a therapist, learned how to communicate and work through their issues, and are now living happily ever after with Lily, but Art is a snake as are all of them. I've seen some people excuse him trying to break Patrick and Tashi up back at Stanford, for one reason or another, and I'm not really sure why. You can love a character and/or feel sympathetic for them without erasing their wrong doings. You can admit that Art was slimy and manipulative at times and still love him, I promise. None of these characters are real and canonically all of them do pretty awful things in the movie, but you can acknowledge that and love them anyway. I think that if you look at this movie as there being a "bad guy" or a "good guy" you may have missed some things. The movie is messy, and toxic, and petty, and intoxicating, and thrilling because of the characters wrongdoings not in spite of them. And I think that's part of what makes it so fun!
Anyway, this was sooo much longer than I intended it to be lol, but I had so many thoughts I needed to get them out. I don't even know if this makes any sense but it's late and I'm going to post it anyway. If anyone has their own thoughts please please share! I'm literally obsessed with this movie, so reading people's ideas and opinions about it has been really fun

Romy shippers and X-Men fandom in general are pretty hypocritical in how they treat Storm vs. Rogue when it comes to shipping them with Magneto and Gambit. Apparently, Rogue x Magneto is creepy age gap  but Storm x Magneto isn't even though Storm isn't that much older than Rogue. Also, Romy shippers say Storm x Gambit being canon is creepy because she was a kid when they met even though Storm's kid form was against her consent by Shadow King, and Gambit is only attracted to adult Storm and even marries her in other universes. Overall, I think it's gross that some Romys will infantilize grown ass woman Rogue as some ooc underage girl who can't think for herself while also using black woman Storm as a meat shield to "protect" white Southerner Rogue who canonically does *NOT* want to be protected from Magneto. All in all, it's condescending sexism and misogynoir.

a movement lawyer btw. immigrants are plagued with super sayian individualism in the way born agains have cultish fervor.
someone said she’s scared and angry (that’s patently obvious) but she’s been a good communicator for the left. she hasn’t been. she made a “i’m supposed to support Palestine but im afraid ill lose advertiser money” video and made it about how Black ppl are targeted for being ProPalastine. she’s not principled, she’s captured by her audience.
she’s blaming misogynoir on harris loss which is a factor but not the only one.
the dems losing the house & senate is a huge repudiation of their politics overall. 15million ppl stayed home. nobody liked Biden and harris said, like he said in 2020, nothing will fundamentally change. ppl wanted change! we saw the boom of enthusiasm when she announced and the exponential decline ever since. Walz was a good pick but they turned him into a stock democrat who happens to know what a tractor is. that was his appeal. not policy but white working class aesthetics.
and fascism’s been here. i know exactly why a person gunning for a seat at msnbc would pretend not to know, but dems sophisticate the structures of fascism. Clinton with mass incarceration, Obama with surveillance & forever wars, Biden with police and environmental destruction and of course genocide.

Do you think the lack of Jacaela -- a couple who are shown to like eachother and were raised in a sex-and-PDA-positive environment -- was part of Hotd downplaying personal moments between the Blacks in the hopes it would even out "likeability" between the teams, part of their whole "more feminist than got" pitch where they bragged that they don't "sexualize" their women, or is it just plain old racism?
Why can't it be both? Unconscious racism AND them attempting to make sexlessness="affirmed woman"? The show's writers pride themselves on being supposedly a "feminist" show that doesn't do as GoT did with the incessant sexposition....but it also has more and reductive instances of gender violence against women than was either possible or suggested in the orig story of the Dance.
Tbh, I expected more kissing and romantic touching from post 1x06 Daemyra. But there's certainly more romantic affection for the white couples than for the interracial ones, which include Laena-Daemon as well and Jacela, and I have a strange feeling that it's also bc they wish to avoid a possible accusation of making Baela way too like a Jezebel stereotype in making her eager for romantic and/or sexual affection from a white boy, the "grace" for white woman alone, thus they can claim that they gave "respect" to Baela and their Black women by treating them "similarly" to their white women. Thus it has the potential of appeal towards PoC/Black viewers and raises the show's "likeability".
It's interconnected and inseparable, is what I am saying. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
And yeah, to those who have the question, this is still teetering towards racism/misogynoir/sexism against white women bc it still goes by sex determining the woman's value as an essential thing. There's nothing wrong or defining-of-morals/goodness with romantic affection bt expectant betrothed. Baela is shunted towards being Jace's emotional support with no reciprocity...the girl's grandmother who was there for her and warded her for years DIES and Baela gets no comfort from Jace or even a mention abt it? That's very weird and imbalanced, if not unrealistic. Even with Rhaenys not showing much affection towards him and his brothers like she did Laena's daughters, they'd still address it?! It'd still be an overall loss to this side of the family, esp if Jace cared abt Baela.

I'm Indian and I used to be a radfem, like actively in wombyn's meets and donating to women only shelters for a few years. What changed my mind was that I found, for a radical position, many radfems were racist by omitting any conversation about it. I don't think all radfems are racist but there is an issue of them wanting to focus on "womanhood" as the bigger picture and completely ignoring the racism other women face because they think it's a separate issue. I understand misogyny affects every woman but it's wrong for so many of them to silence conversations about racism as if woc don't face both often at the same time in its own way. And overall it still holds true that woc face more ill effects from society, a lot of white radfems just don't want to accept that they could have any perceived power over anyone. It doesn't mean they're the same as men but they do not notice how the racist misogynist systems against woc are still perpetuated because they refuse to speak out on it or acknowledge the benefits they get from it.
I agree with absolutely everything you've said. Many radfems are deeply racist, hold racist views or are racist, as you said, by refusing to talk about racism because they want to focus on women - which doesn't make sense because not only women of color exist and face racism, but you can acknowledge that all men are oppressors in a patriarchy while also understanding that men of color are oppressed because of racism and fighting against that. Women of color's freedom will exist when they are free from both sexism and racism, and for that we need to fighting sexism but also racism as a whole.
I think this comes from several reasons ;
- many white radfems just don't care about women of color and racism, and many of them literally hate them. it's a terrible thing to say but i have noticed so many racist bullshit. many of this can also be pure ignorance, as i have noticed that many people do not even try to understand racism issues and to learn about poc's experiences.
- radical feminists are often uncomfortable with the idea that they have a privilege and are part of an oppressor class. i have noticed this with opposite sex attracted radfems and white radfems. i remember when i think it was menalez (not sure) made a post about how she hated white women and many white radfems got angry, while they are the firsts to say that women have the right to hate men because men are our oppressors - and well, white people, including white women, also are the oppressors, aren't we ? so it should work that way too. it is not a radical feminism issue, just a white issue in general - the problem isn’t radical feminism but white people not being able to handle the fact that they're (we're) privileged.
- radical feminists are tired of libfems, TRAs and other people in general asking feminists to include everyone in their feminism because it's about EqUalItY and tHe PaTrIaRcHy HuRtS mEn ToO and what not, which i totally understand because i am tired of this shit too, but they react the wrong way. they understand that feminism is for females only but forget that different groups of women face different struggles, ex women of color face racism, and that we have to focus on these struggles and to fight different kind of oppressions if we want all females to be free - which means that feminism has to fight against different forms of misogyny (misogynoir, lesbophobia, etc) and to overlaps with other forms of activism, like anti racism activism, that will include men. it doesn't mean that our feminism include men. nuance.
I am a white woman so I might not be the best person to talk about this but I feel like you can acknowledge all of this while still being a radfem - tho I respect and understand women of color who leave radical feminism because of racism, of course. At the end of the day, the problem is (some) white radfems and their racism, not radical feminism in itself. You can still believe in the theory and doing activism while calling out racism in the community, or even focusing on women of color. You can still donate, talk about feminism, etc. Radical feminism actually needs more women talking about this to improve. I'm really not trying to lecture you, I hope that's not how it sounds! Just giving my opinion because I think it's an interesting topic.
Anyway, I just agree with everything you said and I understand why you did what you did.

overall, i actually do feel like the early drake disses touched much more closely to the core of a lot of problems with kendrick's whole persona -- which is a persona (no matter how much he criticizes drake for having one, he has one too). kendrick highkey the poster boy for aspirational activism, his songs used as captions by ppl who do a lot of instagramming but not a lot of actual substantive change. -- a super valid and real thing say, esp with the way kendrick HAS built his career off being some socially conscious rap messiah who is working through the trauma of being Black in America, of home violence, etc. and yet still engages in the braggadocio and cult of hypermasculinity and violence in his lyrics (even now, with that "first time a shot a drake, its not the big three its the big me, he realized a beard is a better look on him, etc."). but instead of saying alla dat, drake said that kendrick was acting like he's trying to free slaves -- an insult slightly aimed at kendrick but mostly aimed at the audience drake considers stupid for not nodding along to his club bangers. kendrick's very real problem with misogynoir even as much as he reps black women, but also upholds the violence against them by refusing to hold account RK or Kodak or XXX. the fact that apparently kendrick has "known" about drake and his crew's supposed pedophilia, the videos, etc. but is only using this moment to put it all out there! could even be an issue drake raises! but he doesn't. instead he doubles down on the wife beating allegations, which sound all the more false because drake hits on said wife in the same breath. fucking wack.

Ngl besides Peter never posting anything AW2 related I also don't see Melanie post anything. Now, I never followed them at the start/ release so maybe they posted stuff back then on their Insta stories but nowadays nothing. Meanwhile, others, including David Harewood, continue to post BTS stuff, clips from the official Remedy and AW Instagram etc.
Just makes me wonder if Peter and also Melanie had less positive experiences both during production and post-release. With Melanie, I can sadly imagine that racism and misogynoir might’ve played a role :/
Given the fact how loud bigots have been about Saga’s character “turning” Black and all 🙄
I feel Remedy could and should have taken a firmer stance to protect their actress besides some employees saying they never intended Saga to be White.
And honestly, Remedy isn’t the only company that has failed to protect its BIPOC cast against the vicious racist backlash. Think of any Disney remake that added a more diverse cast and the shitstorm those actresses (and actors) have gotten while Disney fills their pockets they barely put any resources into protecting their cast.
I see it sorta bleed into the Remedy Discord server as well.
While overall, the conversations there have been okay to positive, (i mean there are shipping and fanfic threads lol) there have been occasions of hateful trolls and racist remarks. Mods should act accordingly to trolls that have been spewing racist and sexist bs. During a Remedy livestream, some mod even invited a racist commenter into the server to discuss things further. Discuss what? Don't feed the trolls. Block and report. Inviting those kinda folks and not banning them and instead trying to go into arguments, you only signal to others that this kind of behaviour is okay/acceptable enough.
It also makes fans like me feel less welcome or safe.

you say this and i find this incredibly true for beyonce. she is a black woman like me but not gay. there is legit zero criticism for her and she is treated like a royalty among fellow artists. this is how i have always remembered and she is revered as a god in our community too. she has been on the receiving end of racism as is every single person of color is but you get the gist hopefully.
ok, i hear your overall point, but i have to address the latter half of your message first. this almost makes it sound like the racism beyonce faces is inconsequential (i know you didn't mean it that way), and i have to emphasize it very much is not. you cannot compare how beyonce and taylor are treated on a 1:1 basis, because the racism (and misogynoir) makes it so unequal. sorry anon, i have just have to preface with this, because i don't want anyone to think the racism in beyonce's career can just be hand waved away.
but, i found this thinkpiece about how the beyhive reacted to a harsh review of her tour film to be a very interesting read that you might enjoy! because you'll find some similarities, i think, in how both fandoms react - not just to criticism of their projects, but criticism of their politics:

So I started watching Bridgerton and now I’m going to drop it just because of the whole Michaela/Michael Stirling controversy.
Here’s a link about it: https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2024/06/25/bridgerton-gender-swap-controversy-explained-why-michaela-stirling-has-thrust-fans-into-turmoil/
Disclaimer: This isn’t about the character being a lesbian. This is about the very possible colorist undertones of this casting and character.
With as much as dark skin Black women get masculinized just for being dark skin, I don’t know why they would choose a dark skinned Black woman for a character that was a man in the Bridgerton books. I just feel like it’s setting up the stage for racially inappropriate and colorist comments regarding their relationship with Francesca. I.E, “She’s the man in the relationship” , making Francesca softer and more feminine than Michaela, etc. Honestly, the optics of this is racially inappropriate and misogynoir. Overall, the optics of making a male character from the books into a darkskinned Black woman is just some lowkey colorist and racist ish that most people would look over because they get to have a lesbian ship in Bridgerton.
@thisismisogynoir I’m @ing you so you can say something or add commentary.

I don't give opinions because I don't have the mental sturdiness to deal with being misunderstood either by accident or on purpose. And some people seem unable to disagree with other people's opinion without immediately jumping their throats, making assumptions, and overall implying that the person is stupid. And I already know I'm stupid, I don't need any more confirmation of that. So this is ranty vent where I ended up calming down by thinking about how much I love martial arts, especially boxing.
So this isn't an opinion, this is a vent. I felt the same about Caster Semenya and once again we're seeing the same fucking bullshit with Imane Khelif. Let's get Phelps out the way, frist. That guy is a giant, he snatched all the medals when he competed, nobody said a damn thing. Why? He's a cis white Anglo-Saxon male. Case closed.
But transmisogyny is rampant in official competitions, especially the Olympics. Trans people are not even allowed to compete. LET THAT SINK IN. TRANS PEOPLE CANNOT COMPETE. NOT EVEN IN FUCKING CHESS. I'm not even following it, I'm just seeing the shitshow from the news and posts on here. And I'm not talking about Caster or Imane BECAUSE THEY ARE CIS WOMEN SO THEY ARE NOT FACING TRANSMISOGYNY. They are facing misogynoir, that is, misogyny specifically targetted at black women. Because it's more vile than regular misogyny since black women are stripped of their femininity because they don't fit the European standards for what a woman looks like. And that is because transphobic ideas of what a woman is are rooted in WHITE European standards. Short, white, straight nose, light eyes, straight light hair, etc, etc. You know what I'm getting at. The real and most ideal woman for a transphobe seems to be Aryan. There I said it. Transphobia is rooted in white supremacy and the idea that women MUST be short, white, and frail. Transphobes and incels share a lot of the same ideas of what constitutes a "woman of value", whatever that fucking means.
And to show why this upsets me so much, and why this isn't an opinion coming from the outside and why I'm so fucking angry I needed to say something, I'll share some things.
Look no further than k-pop. The guys are called women because they're pale and wear makeup and are slim and I've seen AND HEARD racists say they can't tell if an Asian person is a man or a woman. Not only about East Asian people, but also South Asian people and Brown people. And it wasn't being said to me or around me but within earshot and I am blessed and cursed with very good hearing.
I have seen several videos of black women saying that transphobia affects every woman, not just trans women, and especially it affects women of colour. One of them is Brazilian and got hit with some transphobe saying he could see "his" dick under "his" dress on the subway. There was no dick, she is cis. This motherfucker just looked at this black woman and decided that she wasn't womanly enough. And that is not transmisogny and she clarified that. She said that transphobia affects everyone, especially women of colour who don't fit the white European standards for what a woman is.
And now me. I'm pale but Mediterranean. I am AFAB and I bleed. I have an intersex condition, and it affects my ability to fucking bleed for months at a time, but it happens. This intesex condition doesn't affect my ability to lose or gain weight, but it makes me have male pattern baldness and facial hair along with thick, black leg hair and arm hair. My chest is mostly flat. This intersex condition isn't what made me trans, by the way. If that were the case, everyone with it would also be, and that is really not the case. People with this condition by and large are AFAB and undergo female HRT, which was what they immediately suggested when I got diagnosed with it. Needless to say I didn't accept it. I recurrently get mistaken for a transfem and it leaves me torn because okay so I don't look cis, and to me personally, that's nice especially because I can't be subjected to transmisogyny and can easily embarrass the transphobes, but considering all of the above and the fact that transphobes think trans women are all ugly, it's bad. Not because of me, because I know I'm ugly, but because they're implying by extension that trans women are ugly, which is simply fucking wrong.
I think the most horrible incident that happened to me and honestly I fear for Imane at this point, was one time when I was at the pool and this cleaning lady looked at me "funny" and when I went to take a shower there (it doesn't have booths there), she randomly popped up and I saw her look at what the fuck I had between my damn legs. And I was startled and she quickly pretended to be looking for a bucket. But no, trans people are the perverts and predators and creeps /sarcasm. I haven't returned there yet and this happened over a year ago. And it's important to say that the locker room was empty save for me and this transphobe. And all this to say that while I'm a trans man, I relate to these women because I've been subjected to similar shit, only that wasn't that dangerous, so it's personal and it makes me really mad. And I will repeat that this is not transmisogyny because I cannot be subjected to that since I am AFAB. And I will reiterate that these are not opinions, this is a rant and a vent based on facts and personal experience.
I'll just put four pictures here of four boxers, and allow you to have silent reactions to them and their stats:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Top to bottom, left to right:
Imane Khelif (Algeria) - Lightweight (60kg/178cm; 132lbs/5'10'';
Lin Yu-Ting (Taiwan) - Featherweight (51kg/175cm; 112lbs/5'7''.
Claressa Shields (USA) - Light Middleweight, Middleweight, Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight in Boxing - (currently 76kg, 173cm; currently 168lbs, 5'6'';
Savannah Marshall (UK) - Middleweight, Super Middleweight in Boxing - 73kg/180cm; 161lbs/5'11''.
(The last two have fought against each other)
A tangent here since this isn't an opinion and looking up fighter stats calmed me down since I love martial arts. Height is not a factor in categorising people into weight classes. If transphobes actually cared about the arts/sports, they would know that reach advantage is a thing and is listed when you look up fighter stats. And reach advantage would be the arm length. That's why shorter fighters tend to prefer to fight inside their opponent's reach, that is close to them, because that puts them at an advantage since it's unlikely to get hit with a straight jab in the face if you can almost kiss your opponent's chest. And what's more, if you're a shorter fighter in a weight class where people tend to be taller and thus have longer arms (which is an advantage for them since they can punch harder from further away and step back to avoid an instant counter attack, in case that wasn't clear), it's good to master the clinch. The clinch is what they call when the fighters seem to be hugging and can't really fight, especially in boxing where blows below the belt are illegal, blows to the back of the head and neck are illegal, and kicks are also illegal (that's why kickboxing exists). Because it's close quarters and if you master it, it's a good way to catch your breath during a round, since being shorter against a taller opponent requires being faster and thus spending a lot of stamina faster.
I'm a big fan of Muhammad Ali and of Claressa Shields (and I'll admit my bias towards heavyweight fights, though I also like welterweight fights) and they both exude an amazing confidence. Muhammad Ali called himself the boxing GOAT and Claressa Shields calls herself the boxing GWOAT. And I personally agree with both. If this piqued your interest, look them up and see their wins. Claressa is too young to have a lot written about her, but Muhammad Ali was the one who started the boxing taunts thing, and it was pretty terrible at the time because people saw it as disrespect, but it wasn't. He was just a jokester and when George Foreman won against him and his family was mad at Muhammad Ali for what he'd said, he apologised and said he didn't mean to disrespect him (it wasn't anything super mean, he just said he was slow and fought like a mummy and then mimicked it. And that's because what distinguished Muhammad Ali from other heavyweights was that he was very fast). Muhammad Ali was so goofy that even after he retired because he had Parkinson's, he called his manager and friend out into the snow, and was really stubborn about it, much the latter's annoyance, and said "I'm the fastest puncher in the world" and the manager said "In the heavyweight class, yes" "no, any class" "that can't be" "want me to show you?" "sure" *Muhammad doesn't move* "well? where is it?" "want me to show you again?". Geeking out about my fave, sorry. Just to show that he wasn't a bad person (which is also corroborated by all the tapes he recorded for his daughter since he couldn't spend a lot of time with her and said that one day she'd maybe value those). Claressa has lost against Savannah, but I'm kinda torn towards the latter because she talked about this situation with Imane and the Italian. She's playing devil's advocate, but she did highlight that the qualification criteria for Olympic boxing is ridiculous, mostly because nobody knows exactly how they evaluate people, especially women. In regular, official competitive boxing, it's all very clear.
And finally, you want to see what I look like? I'll put that shit under the break so that you're not immediately jumpscared. My stats in boxing, based on AGAB, are: Junior Featherweight or Super Bantamweight (54kg/166cm; 119lbs/5'5''). And yes, I have training. Mostly boxing, but also Jiu-Jitsu and Muay.

The last one was when I had to present fem for a wedding. The others are how I normally look and I did the Joker makeup and a closet cosplay, because my hair pulled back looks like his and I joke that I'm getting jokerised all the time. Or rather, half-joke. This picture was never publicly posted anywhere before today. I wanted some body pics but only have that available on this PC. That one at the top is a vintage outfit. I lost a lot of weight due to trauma but my bone structure is still wide and "not-feminine", that is, I'm very fucking androgynous. I once tried asking for opinions on reddit and lol I got told that I was ugly in every possible way. The only positive comments were of people saying I'd look good as a guy lol And if you clicked this read more, sorry for the jumpscare again. I just wanted to showcase where I'm coming from. Again, not an opinion, this is a vent. That turned into a bit of a lesson on boxing I guess.

What are your overall feelings on bleach ? Now that you’ve finished it will you be watching the TYBW ?
Overall I did really enjoy it. My feelings are similar to my feelings about Naruto cause they don’t address the corrupt system and all that, but I had a good time except for all the misogynoire.
I did feel like the second half of the manga fell flat in many areas and a LOT of plot points were glossed over. The entire fullbringer arc was… let’s just say I wasn’t a fan… except for Riruka because who could ever hate Riruka? But generally the storytelling wasn’t as solid and there are many plot holes.
I will be watching the new season of the anime because there are some things I’m hoping get expanded in there (Yachiru and Kenpachi is a big one).
