do you have a completely out there theory or headcanon about silverborn. just for fun
Hmm. Not sure, because at this point everything feels out there lol. Yesterday I was theorizing that the surname in the [redacted] snippet could be "Swan," and that could be Mog's mom's maiden name. That might be the latest craziest theory. The latest more serious (but still out there at this point) Silverborn theory might be the most recent edition to my masterpost, where I mention that "silverborn" could be another term for "born on Eventide," perhaps in connection with the Celestials. It also maybe could refer to being born in the Silver District, born in the Republic..... idk. I'm probably being too literal and in a year we'll find out the actual term means something totally unexpected, lol.
Some other random theories / headcanons about the series:
Squall is from ye olde Jackalfax
Hawthorne will lose a limb and Jupiter will lose his knack
The Weaving and Ruination Divinities are met together, with one unweaving what the other one is weaving
Regarding Arts and Sub-Arts, plus the theories of Knacks being derived from Arts: Murgatroyd breathes ice. Inferno is heavily associated with breathing. What if ice powers are like….. a total negative / reverse of Inferno ?
Mildmay and Ravi were like one Unit apart. Did they know eachother? How did people who grew up knowing Mildmay react to his betrayal, what are their perspectives, etc? And is this a new shi-- [is knocked out and dragged away before I can finish]
And if you want a silly headcanon: some characters have glasses to me and I literally can't imagine them without them. Lam has large round fake ones, Holliday has a collection of stylish cat-eye frames, and Rook has a pair of somewhat fancy, yet antiquated-looking half-moon glasses, where she can peer intimidatingly over them (this is just her normal expression, but it spooks some of the Basement Nerds all the same). I don't think that the Scholar Mistresses change clothes at all, but as much as I love canon, I eagerly ignore that bit <3

For any fandom(s): 12, 15, 16, 19, 23! 💌
As always, you spoil me! 💌
12. Compliment someone else in your fandom
GOD I HAVE TOO MANY FRIENDS TO COMPLIMENT
@beezonia comes up with the coolest AUs and designs. I’m always blown away by their Pokémon team compositions — they’re spot on to the point I consider it its own form of character analysis!
@purplecatghostposts is the genius who showed up out of the blue and took us all by surprise with their amazing prose. Soap, reminder that the reference to Copycat in consider the spare legally binds you to pay for my therapy.
@trishacollins is single-handedly remediating to the lack of platonic bedsharing between the cousins and I can’t thank her enough! She’s also one of the chillest and most approachable people I know.
@luckychatons is our favourite entrepunpurr and constantly lifts our mood with the cutest, most joy-filled sketches! Patting her OCs on the back because they sure need it.
@graythegreyt is such an awesome artist you’d almost forget they’re also one hell of a poet who wields mythological references like Odysseus wields his bow. Did you know they wrote me a poem inspired by God Games? I think everyone should know they wrote me a poem inspired by God Games.
@hartwign is a talented translator and draws hair like no one else. Seriously. I want to run my hands through the cousins’ hair and nestle in there forever.
@phieillydinyia is the picture of dedication! Can’t recommend Candle In The Wind enough, it’s a roleswap rewrite of the Miraculous movie that includes the songs. How cool is that. Thank you for your regular comments on my fics, they always make my day!
@alexandriaellisart words cannot express how much I love your depiction of Feligami. Your writing has made me tear up so many times! AND YOUR ART LOOKS SO SOFT AND COLOURFUL. What a double threat!
@faiirygrahamdevanily we need more fics about the Sentiplot as a metaphor for othering experiences and you’re doing God’s… I mean, Duusu’s work with yours!
@bbutterflies did you know your piece for Sentitwin Week is the best characterisation I’ve ever seen of Felix? This is what people mean when they say a picture is worth a thousand words. And of course your Adrino is always brilliant!
@bittersweetresilience not only are you an extraordinary writer, but you’re constantly looking for new ways to express your love. Always GIFing and weaving and canonising tags and making AMVs and running zines… I can’t wait to see what you do next!
And there’s so many more people I’m forgetting! To say nothing of my friends outside the Miraculous bubble! People are amazing!!! 💖
15. The character that always makes you smile
At the end of the day, it’s all about Clive. He’s been my muse for nearly 15 years! 💙🕊️
Tumblr media
16 was answered here! 💖
19. Your current fandom(s)
Professor Layton, forever and always. I can’t wait to share my Big Bang fic and the amazing art that I was blessed with! 💙💛
RWBY, even if I’m lurking more than participating… I love love love love RWBY, yet it doesn’t strike my creative and analytical chords the way Miraculous does. Sometimes you just need to let yourself be swept into a story, you know? Although, it did teach me a couple of writing tricks I’ve used for other fandoms!
EPIC! Wisdom Saga coming soon! 🩵🦉 It makes my little mythology nerd heart supremely happy. The music is a banger and you can feel the knowledge and passion of all the people involved in this project. Jorge in particular is always so excited to share his progress, engaging with creators, explaining his musical choices in a fun and pedagogical way… And the lyrics! It’s free real estate for a fanfic author looking for inspiration and/or titles!
I’d love to start Monte-Cristoposting like I’ve been Cyranoposting and Draculaposting, but I’m afraid of spoilers so for now I’m just screaming in your DMs. As you know. I’m also slowly getting into Honkai: Star Rail, and I’d like to pick up Pokémon Black and White again because a N character study would look great on my AO3 resume.
And of course, Miraculous! 💚💜❤️ It’s the most creative I’ve been in years and it’s all thanks to these sad beautiful silly genius kids. Heart emoji, peacock emoji, sob emoji, etc.
23 was answered here!
Thanks for the ask! 🖤🪶

Hiiii, OMFGG obsessed with ur tags again ily for noticing about the "no one would think it's autobiographical if the main character is a woman" akjskdkd I think I was going insane for thinking that but as a woman there's something about some paul's songs that makes me feel seen, like another day it's such a modern day woman -me- song and lady madonna I feel he gets my mom, it's fucking crazy like he has many songs centered in women like he shows understanding and compassion for us. also yeah the woman pov is a vehicle to be more vulnerable and open.
Sorry!!! Fun fact about me is that I kind of suck. But we should be friends on here because I love your takes too! I'm always like "yeah, she gets it!"
But yeah, so I do think he partially writes with central female characters as a disguise ((little did babygirl know we'd all be she/her ing him as the highest form of endearment on Tumblr but anyway)) but I really do think even in the 1960s Paul was capable of seeing women as humans ((which is partly why his treatment of Jane and co is even more inexcusable)) He wouldn't be capable of putting his own experiences and emotions and fears etc into female characters in song if he didn't.
But yeah, how many pre-teen to young teen boys love to ask random old ladies if they needed help around the house and genuinely enjoy hearing about their lives? What rockstar do you see writing a song about a poverty-stricken mother?
Speaking of, I'm fascinated by the song "Lady Madonna." It's interesting to me in the same way that John's "Girl" is. There's clearly a lot of love and respect for the woman in the song, but it's far from mushy, you know? It strikes me as somehow both worshipful and condescending as always surrounded by the mundanities of a working class life. And where it's often posited that that song is about his mother, I just have so many questions. -- "Listen to the music playing in your head." "Did you think that money was heaven sent?" -- And then there's the fact that John brought Lady Madonna into his huge list of Paul references in "Glass Onion" "standing on the Cast Iron Shore, Lady Madonna tryna make ends meat" .... But even if we're not analyzing it biographically, this is a complex, struggling woman, probably either a single mother or a married single mother if you know what I mean by that. She allows people like you and me -- because yeah I see my mom in her too! -- to feel seen, and her presence in the public consciousness reminds the world, where most stories still are about middle to upper class people, that actually most people are working class. We exist, and our struggles are not our own creations -- Lady Madonna works long and hard to care for her kids -- but that of a corrupt system. Such important work there, whether Paul was conscious of it or not.
Another important song, as you pointed out, is Another Day. I think it taps into Mary and Linda and Paul himself and it really gives such a grounding portrait. It puts the listener directly in the 70s working woman's head. The rhythm of "slipping into stockings, stepping into shoes", the hollow sigh and the non elaborate lament of "so sad, so sad, sometimes she feels so sad" and the bustling hurry of "it's just another day do do do do do do". You're forced, for those few minutes, to live in her body and experience her life. I think it takes great empathy to be able to do that, and it's this type of art that can, for the right listener, build empathy. There have been studies done which show an increased ability to empathize in fiction readers, and I'd be willing to bet that story songs do that too.
Anyway, those are my thoughts I guess. I hope it's okay that I took a while to respond to this. Thanks for sending it in!

I love the Vengeance saga sm….
so here are my thoughts
NOT SORRY FOR LOVING YOU:
This was SO pretty. Wangui has such a beautiful voice and she added so much depth to the character. But i still HATE Calypso. They could never make me like you Calypso. I liked How Jorge really made her seem like she just never learned how it was wrong to expect love in return regardless of circumstance. Especially the part “Was cast away when I was young
Alone for a hundred years
I had no friends but the sky and sun
So when you washed ashore
I thought for sure that you were my dream come true”
It really did a good job at showing she never learned because she never got a chance to learn these things.
DANGEROUS:
HECK YES HERMES!!! He was so so iconic and I loved how we was just partying while Ody was fighting for his life. My favorite part was defined the Wing Bag. Especially the winions. The melodies just seemed so much darker and serious then the playful tone of Keep Your Friends Close. I also loved the Athena reference at the end. I honestly hope Odysseus doesn’t learn it was her, it would make it so much more tragic.
CHARYBDIS:
This was the song I was looking forward to the most and I was not let down! The musical storytelling was so so good! Everything about it that I imagined is practically exactly what was on the animatic. Also extra points to part of it being done by @anniflamma (i’m not even gonna try to lie, Anni is my favorite Epic Animator) I LOVED the final verse. It was so pretty and Jorge portrayed the Longing of Odysseus SO WELL. I also adored the expectation diversion leading into…
GET IN THE WATER:
First off the Intrumentals starting the song were BEAUTIFUL!!! The piano was so striking and i loved it! Steven Rodriguez is genuinely PERFECT for Poseidon. I’m not gonna lie Poseidon is my favorite Greek God(Blame PJO) and Ruthlessness is actually the song that got me into EPIC. So it was amazing to hear him again. My Blood ran cold during the “Ruthlessness… Is Mercy Upon… Ourselves” part and I loved the overlapping vocals of the “Die”. And because it’s a bossfight it just has to end with making me cry. The “spirits” of Odysseus’s comrades was so pretty and I think it was my favorite(besides love in paradise ofc) of the “Heartbreaking remembering comrades” moments.
600 STRIKE!!!
1st of holy shit the Wind bag is such a cool Bossfight instrumental. It was so freaking cool(I love all the Wind parts in EPIC). I was a little disappointed by the Visuals, no disrespect to the artist at all! But i just thought the 3d was a little jarring. I truthfully think it would have been a little better if it was 2d. Enough of visual art talk though MUSICAL art talk time! I LOVED the chanting throughout the first-half. It was such a great(I think) wrap up to the Crews story and it also sounded awesome.
600 STRIKE: PART 2(that part)
Steven Rodriguez’s voice is really hot. I just had to get that out of the way. But in all seriousness this is my favorite moment of the Saga. I don’t think 600 strike was my favorite song, that title goes to Get in the Water, but 600 strike is a close 2nd solely based on the epicness of this moment. The way my heart just stopped when Odysseus said “Exactly” was just something I’ll never get over. Also I’m weird and i loved hearing Poseidon in pain.(I like my fav. characters to suffer). Also the overlapping vocals(can i even call poseidon’s part vocals it’s just him screaming in pain) was PHENOMENAL! I especially loved the 2nd “OOoohhhh” I saw someone say that Poseidon likely regenerated around the trident before it was pulled out and that’s engraved in my brain now.
And hot Take.
I think that Poseidon was actually ASKING Odysseus how he sleeps at night. During Monster Ody says “Is he scared that he’s doing something wrong” and I actually think Ody was right. Poseidon’s “I can’t” during Get In The Water seems genuine. I don’t know if it was because He literally couldn’t forgive Ody because of what Ody did, or if He’s is actually just trying to “keep us in check so we respect him, and now no one dares piss him off”. This may just be me over-analyzing/trying to sympathize my fav character but does Poseidon actually wonder if he’s doing something wrong.
And Finally, NEXT TO MY WIFE was actually so FRAKING cold. If someone said that to me i’d be devastated.
Ultimately the Vengeance saga was probably my 2nd favorite saga(after wisdom i just adore god games) Jorge did an AMAZING job with it and I’m so excited to see how much more a monster rawr rawr rawr Ody becomes.
I hope you enjoy my thoughts (:

OMG so i saw ur celebrities irl and where they come from post, and i’m wondering what songs or films would do well in the villages! do they even have something like the billboard chart? 😀
Naruto Headcanons – Music/TV Taste in Different Villages
Tumblr media
GALAXY BRAIN ASK STRIKED AGAIN!!! Today we will into what music/TV would be popular in each villages. Of course, each villages have diversity but just like in the real world, some things are more popular than others depending on the locations.
As a music head, I’m feeling this! Have fun with the music references, don’t be afraid to go listen to them. LETS GOO!
-------------------------------------------------------------///////------------
Are there any Music Charts/Billboard?: Each country has its chart system because each nation's taste varies a lot, hence why it is such an achievement to become relevant in a city or country outside of your own. It’s only recently that artists started going on real WORLD tours (if you exclude Itachi’s Fan meeting, you probably could count them on your hands’ fingers).
Regardless, Konoha holds the largest music festivals. The annual Summer Music-Fest assembles the most diverse cast of artists from around the world meanwhile the largest venue ever built is in Kumo (a stadium with 90,000+ of capacity)
For the first time, a world music awards ceremony was held in Kumo but it was heavily criticized for its favoritism towards bigger nations.
KONOHA----------------------------------------------------
KONAHA’S MUSIC TASTE:
Konoha is insanely into celebrity culture. It was kinda established by Naruto and his grandiose accomplishments during past wars, where it further spread the concept of hero/celebrity/idol/person adored by a large crowd.
Tumblr media
Taking after their beloved founder Hashirama Senju, Konoha loooves an unproblematic singer with a fiery personality leaning towards an upbeat musical style that appeals to masses.
When I say they love someone unproblematic, I mean it. It applies to most A-List celebrities, singers, actors & etc. Their PR team operates 24/7 at an unmatched level. Talking about politics or any controversial topics is heavily restricted, hence why those who build fandoms overseas escape the censorship and have their damage control team back them up no matter what happens. Itachi is the PERFECT example of this.
The village conserves its conservative mentality since it is way more comfortable with female performers. It’s that binary thinking where men are ninjas/at war and women are better perceived in “softer” careers.
Konoha loves bubble gum commercial pop, especially in a girl group format.
Tumblr media
As the city evolved, you can see art academies opening to encourage the youth towards the world of entertainment (We are in a time of peace, so more career paths are available) but it’s not going to stop them from making concepts like a shinobi boy group.
Keeping their malpractice from the shinobi world, underage idols debuting in groups is not common but heavily normalized.
Ariana Grande, Marina & The Diamonds, Girls’ Generation, Brockhampton, E-girls, JONGHYUN, Momoland, Mizca, EXO, Natasha Bedingfield, TWICE, Dua Lipa, New Jeans, BINI, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lights, Icona Pop, Danny Fernandes, Kylie Minogue, Elise Estrada, Sam Gellaitry, Sakanaction, FREDERIC
KONOHA’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
Konoha is a pioneer of the comedy genre in movies. The most recognizable comedy films, franchises, and actors are from the Country of Fire (Speed Hour is one of them) but IRL it would be something like 21 Jump Street and Freaky Friday.
Tumblr media
Actions movies painting an “heroic” narrative. They are a sucker for ninja movies especially those reenacting past events with a shit load of misinformation like downplaying the violence or certain wars. NO! The victory was not as spectacular. Stop lying, please.
Puppy love Romance movies & Drama TV series (The Korean Drama type)
Tumblr media
Night talk shows (like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) are really popular along with Konoha’s Saturday Night Live but got temporary cancelled after they clowned Gaara for being soft and a “born again” pacifist. Suna took them to court over the joke and the trial is ongoing. Really ironic, because all the “jokes” about the Tsuchikage’s height or men from Kiri being gang members with massive schlongs didn’t bother anyone… oh…ok.
KUMO-------------------------------------------------------
KUMO’S MUSIC TASTE:
Rap & Hip hop are the country’s musical pride since it sets them apart from other nations with their own billboard systems. They depends on other countries the least because they are musically self-sustained (compared to Konoha who constantly take in outside influences) and yes all these large venues fill themselves without outsiders.
Tumblr media
MCing and 90’s style Rap is a style popularized by Killer Bee; he basically monopolizes the genre.
Soul & Disco remained popular since this music is associated with the Raikage’s generation.
If the beat is good, you have a chance but don’t go too far because permanent cancellation is a thing in Kumo.
Every year, many artists get together to make an end-of-the-year song under Killer Bee’s record label (Kanye West - All of the Light)
Kumo loves a female soloist, they go crazy over singers like Rihanna, Fergie, Missy Elliot, Doechii, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, SZA, Nicki Minaj, Chungha, etc…
Tumblr media
Even if Killer Bee dominates the Rap scene, they would love male rappers like Kanye West and Busta Rhymes.
Contrary to popular belief, mumble and drill rap is not as popular as people make it out to be. It is subject to a lot of mockery in Kumo so most rappers using this style rely on their fandoms overseas.
The northern region of the Country of Lightning houses a whole different language and heritage. They tend to stay isolated from the rest of the population because the area is made of chains of massive mountains. They are distantly related to the Raikage’s lineage. They also carry their own unique cultural sound, who sometimes makes its way into the mainstream.
FLO
Tumblr media
KUMO’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
Reality TV is dominated by Kumo and Iwa. They are both sides of the same coin and produces the most known franchises in the world. Kumo focuses more on Drama among citizens, Music reality TV, Romance, and all the lives of the out-of-the-norm people in their country. Think of the entire TLC Channel, Big Brother, Real Housewives of Kumogakure, Bad Girls Club/Baddies, Courtroom Drama/Judge Judy
Tumblr media
Reality TV about food (Master Chef & The Great Baking Show) and The Voice have editions in each large country except Kiri.
Drag Races are only in Konoha and Kumo because shows like these are illegal in Suna & Kiri and got canceled in Iwa.
Kumo, Konoha & Iwa hosted their annual seasons of Love Island with great success.
The movie scene in Kumo is pretty small compared to the rest of its entertainment industry. Unfortunately, it’s dominated by heroes and historical movies.
SUNA--------------------------------------------------------
SUNA’S MUSIC TASTE:
Vocalists are prized in Suna. There’s nothing more acclaimed than an angelic voice. Think of Adele, Indila, Christina Aguilera & Jon Secada
Tumblr media
Classical music is a dedicated art form. It’s no joke. The biggest classical theaters are in Suna. Those who desire to study various string and wind instruments travel to the Country of Wind where the best classical music teachers are located.
Suna’s club music is sooo underrated, some people (outsiders) believe it doesn’t even exist due to the prevalence of live performing bands and orchestras. It would be similar in style to artists like Nelly Furtado & Nyusha. Their electro music is extremely popular in clubs in Konoha and people have no idea it’s made by artists from the country of Wind. Yep, you guessed it. IRL it’s 90s-2000s Eurodance.
Tumblr media
Banks, TĀLĀ, Selena Gomez
SUNA’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
TV shows/drama series taking place in a huge mansion with dramatic transitions/character introductions are very popular
youtube
Going on that same point, movies about family drama/dysfunction are popular as well because many recognize their relatives in the characters or use this media to reprimand their family members (don’t be like ----- from ------ series). Suna is probably on their 20th season of Shameless.
Tumblr media
A large part of the population has never traveled outside of the Country of Wind so documentaries about other nations are well-liked and sometimes used for propaganda.
Tumblr media
For some reason, all of Suna’s TV is super duper HD but their national news broadcast has to be the lowest quality and cheapest setup known to man.
TV broadcasts completely shut down during holidays
KIRI----------------------------------------------------------
KIRI’S MUSIC TASTE:
Because of its diverse population, what’s popular depends on social class & ethnicity/clan. Due to environmental & economic circumstances, gang-related rap music grew in popularity. Tying back to the heavy influence of gang culture, it appears in music and fashion whether the group has criminal affiliations or not. The underground rap scene is very prolific and generated many iconic groups and soloists but is also associated with many violent tragedies
Tumblr media
The rise of female singers revolutionized society as Kiri started promoting their unique expression of beauty & sexuality to the outside world. Unfortunately, the pressure to appeal to the male gaze is insane. It is still a male-dominated society in contrast to Kumo’s support (and admiration) of female independence and individual self-expression, in Kiri, female performers can catch hell for “covering too much”, and not wearing makeup and heels.
I’m telling you! Female singers have mastered the art of a catchy song with a saxophone riff+ vain lyrics = INSTANT HIT (basically 2009-2011 Alexandra Stan)
Tumblr media
Vocal-based boybands are popular and attract mixed crowds. Many liked them for their trendy style, iconic songs, and success with the ladies. Most of these group sit in style close to groups like Aventura and Boyz II Men.
Tumblr media
What’s funny is that for the longest, Kiri was stuck in the early 2000s, when it comes to style, fashion and media production. This is why until very recently, CDs were sold in jewel cases with the most devious album covers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Artists like Minori Chihara are popular as well, again showing the country's diversity. Their popularity extends to certain regions/islands in the Country of Water but recently many have entered the mainstream giving a diverse sound to Kiri. Either more eccentric than what outsiders would expect or coming from ethnicities/clans previously underrepresented (Haku’s clan is one of them). Some examples are Charli XCX, Wednesday Campanella, Bad Bunny & Flower.
Tumblr media
Because of the strong love/couple culture, most forms of partner dancing (and the music associated with them) are really popular. Of course, depending on the region of the country you reside in, but dances including slower movements dominate, a few examples would be Bachata & Kompa.
Phonk (Juuzo likes it by himself among his peers) & Reggeaton.
Shakira, AOA, Rina Sawayama, LISA,
KIRI’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
Low-budget soap operas.
For the longest, movies were in black & white, and the drama/romance genre is the most popular than most like to admit but it often depicted members of higher caste. No censorship on the spiciness/love scenes (this is live!)
IWA-------------------------------------------------------------------------
IWA’S MUSIC TASTE:
Tumblr media
Rock is the most popular style of music. It is the most exported media after adventure movies. The genre has brought merit and fame to the Country of Eart and its one-of-a-kind rock festivals. There was a time when pop-punk/rock was dominating. It was in the same era that TAKA flourished, it would be groups like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Billy Talent, Paramore, AFI, Hoobastank, etc.). This era was short-lived, and Iwa’s rock eventually returned to its more hardcore roots.
IWA’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
Tumblr media
Adventure/Action movies are filmed there and many popular franchises came out of it (think of Mad Max). These movies always climb to the top of the box office when they are released. (Deidara likes these because there are many explosions)
To rival Rock, Iwa has the largest indie music scene. Because of the lack of funding for anyone not filling the typical rock/metal mold, countless small groups and soloists from underfunded companies or self-employed are so many that they form a whole layer of the country’s music industry. I know groups/singers like Kllo, Cafuné, Glasperlenspiel, The Neighbourhood & JOY. would fit this description.
Tumblr media
Iwa’s reality TV is more geared towards anything following celebrities' (& corn stars) lives, Any survival show in the wilderness, Married at first sight, Jersey Shore, Jackass, Real Houswives of Iwagakure.
OTO-------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTO’S MUSIC TASTE:
It is possible that you don’t understand the lyrics of any song because it is a melodic-driven music culture.
The most accomplished and elaborate sound technicians/producers come from there (previously associated with Orochimaru or not).
Because of the village’s association with Konoha, all artists/producers from Oto are popular in Konoha and operate in the Country of Fire.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile in Oto, they have perfected the art of sounds, allowing a more intricate/complex musical sound to emerge both in EDM & other electro styles. Going from Yasutaka Nakata (Perfume & capsule) to more layered compositions from artists like Emawk, FKA Twigs
Tumblr media
95% of the royalty-free music available online is made in Otogakure.
OTO’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
--
AME------------------------------------------------------------------------
AME’S MUSIC TASTE:
Tumblr media
Ame produces many prolific DJs who range from the generic side of EDM to more eccentric and unique styles. It would be artists like Basshunter, Wolfgang Gartner, Skrillex, deadmaus5 & Rabbit Killer.
AME’S MOVIE/TV TASTE:
Ame produces the most gut-wrenching indie horror movie to see the light of day. Some get popular enough to get broadcast overseas (like The Ring type and even worse). In contrast to Konoha’s horror movies which are locally popular with the typical watered-down storyline. *Ears a strange sound in the attic. Picks up a flashlight to go check*

Hello Anna <3 I hope you are doing well 🌻
Can you answer questions for the artist game 2, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 29 :)
I like your art and I want to you talk more about your art. 🥐🥐🥐
Oh, hello-hello!
Thank you so much for these kind words and for your interest! And, haha, I see that you've read the previous post, too 🥐🥐🥐
2 most popular piece?
It's ironic how one of the most popular pieces is the one I don't like :D But this is it!
Tumblr media
Another popular one, is this one, but in this case, I still love this art (sometimes I wonder if I'll be able to create something like this ever again...)
Tumblr media
7 easiest thing for you to draw?
It's a very interesting question! Let's say, on the stage of the rendering, it's, how ironically it wouldn't sound, but backgrounds! I know that usually it's considered like the least thing you would name as "easiest", but somehow, it works for me...
9 whats something you always come back to when drawing?
Hm, very good question. I think, it's this simple thought that everything, in reality, doesn't have an end: drawing, no matter how good you are, is about constant studying, and this is also the beauty in it. I always try to keep it in mind, but when I start drawing, every single time I recall this idea, and, at some point, to be honest, it's also reassuring.
10 how do you deal with artblock?
You know, I must tell you that I have never had an art block. Demotivation and discouragement? Yes, and not because I can't draw what I imagined, but primarily because of the reach since I wish my arts would be seen more, but other than that - even if I had some small moments when I felt like something wasn't going the way I would like to - I felt upset and sometimes disappointed, but never to the point of artblock. So, in my case, the answer will be a bit different: when I have such moments, I just step away from it and let these feelings not interfere into my art process. Drawing or writing with such low emotions which whisper to you how "you're failing to match your imagination" (which, in fact, are nothing but lies) is a huge emotional turmoil and also, some kind of torture, so instead of forcing myself into it, I just let these emotions live and die as quickly as they appear. During this time while I'm away from drawing/writing, I try to distract myself with something usual like reading, for example. So, yes, that's it!
11 do you listen to anything while drawing?
Yes! I usually listen to lectures/discussions, this kind of content, or to the music - when it comes to it, I try to find the matching pieces of songs to the vibe of the drawing, so it also helps me to set the mood :3
For example, for this art, I was listening on repeat Eric Satie, and I hope it gave the mood to this art the one I hoped to achieve
Tumblr media
12 describe your process while drawing
Thank you for this question! It all starts with the idea itself, usually it just pops up out of nowhere, or some official art happens, and the image of what to draw strikes me very clearly. Sometimes, I can have some ideas, and they float around, until the moment I realize how I want the art to look like. After that, I gather some pose references, and start sketching. How much the sketching stage takes, it depends on the art itself: sometimes, I can sketch it for 20 minutes, sometimes - for hours. When the sketch is ready, I do the flat colours: just basic shades to understand the palette, and after that - the general colorization of the art (the group with different layers such as Brightness/Contrast, Gradients, Solid Colours, Hue/Saturation etc), which changes through the process. And then, rendering! Now, I have the scheme: firstly, skin rendering + hair, in between - background, step by step; clothes; additional details; the general work with lightning; shades/volumes; final touches, and here we are!
13 talk about a wip you like!
Currently, I'm working on JeanPiku and AruAni double date, and while I think it's quite good piece, there are two WIPs I'll be working on after that, and I must tell you that this solo question made me *wheezing* because I'm both excited and a bit scared to work on them :D One of this WIPs is related to Ancient Greece mythology (sorry for not sharing details, since I want to keep it as a small surprise), and another one based on this official Annie art from brave order with pipa, and, off course, Armin too :3 I really hope I'll do justice to these ideas, and you'll like them!
16 how do you motivate yourself to draw?
AruAni (and JeanPiku) motivate me to draw! :D
But on more serious note (my first answer is still serious), it's as simple as it is - I can't simply not to draw. The drawing itself motivates me because it allows to tell the stories, to live through so many emotions and many scenarios. And, honestly, for me, it's more than enough.
29 do you use a lot of references while drawing?
I use reference for the poses - that's yes, my must have, since I try to make it quite "humanly fluid", and even if I study anatomy, I prefer to have references to always double check. As for composition and colour palette- no, it's always my free flight of imagination :D So, basically, I use references for characters and for some specific details, like furniture or flowers, for example.
Thank you a lot for all these questions! It was really interesting to answer, and it helped me to distract myself from everything, thank you so much, and have a good one :3

The unsettling longing of OnlyOneOf's nabi
Tumblr media
This post is partially a repetition of what I said in my seOul cOllectiOn video a few months back, but as I haven't gotten much feedback on this beyond one person who read the song the same way I did, I want to present my theory about the song's content and message again.
To be clear, I don't believe there is a correct or incorrect interpretation, and I don't know what the songwriters intended. I just want to shed light on one of the possible ways to view it.
On the surface, nothing about nabi is sinister. Be it the music, the vocals or the lyrics, everything paints a lonesome, tender, earnest picture. It's a personal story of the narrator who misses his lover, and believes these feelings to be pure. We aren't given any hints as to why the relationship ended and what led to him having to wake up alone. By contrast, the two other b-sides from this album that talk about a parting, mirage and blueblueseOul, both reflect on the past and what led to the relationship's end. If there is a larger story in nabi, it sneakily hid itself in the references.
It strikes me that a song like nabi, seemingly so simple and delicate, makes references to not one, not two, but three songs about relationships that aren't very loving and wholesome: chrOme hearts, byredO and picassO. Coincidentally, all three of these songs seem to be from the perspective of artists. Considering that the English version of dOra maar follows nabi on the album, I'll be treating nabi as if it was the next installment in the art pop series.
"If you feel me just call my name" is a line that nabi shares with chrOme hearts where the narrator says his love is unbreakable, and even though they keep trying to get away from each other, the relationship keeps replaying in front of their eyes again and again. "She left the perfume from the moment" - is there anyone who didn't immediately think of byredO, the song described as being about a love that becomes an unhealthy obsession? And in picassO, there's a line "Baby, I'll brush up on your wings". In nabi, the lines about wings, and simultaneously the two lines most crucial to my reading are: "I'm drunk on the color of your wings, come to me, don't ever change this color," and "Please don't spread your wings and stay still, don't fly away."
I find it interesting that dOra maar, while from the perspective of the abuser, doesn't try to hide how toxic the relationship it portrays is. You hear the lines "You're just my grieving model" and "You're just a weeping woman," and you understand there's something bad going on there. In my opinion, this comes from the fact that the narrator of picassO and dOra maar is a narcissist. He doesn't realise the things he says are cruel, he thinks he's doing her a favor by reminding her of who she really is. To paraphrase his intentions: "I like you the way you are and I want you to be yourself around me, but the way you are right now isn't actually you, so I don't like it. I know your true colors better than you know yourself, because I have the ability to see and draw your inside."
Both picassO and dOra maar are filtered through picassO's perspective, and what this results in is a picture of a toxic relationship obvious to the listener. We sit in the same room as dOra and picassO as he paints her, we see his creative process, his self-centered pursuit of inspiration, his lack of self-reflection over how he views his lover, what words he uses to describe her to her face, and we understand she's being mistreated. Once he's left alone though, all we have is a singular perspective of one half of the couple who isn't self-aware enough to realise why this happened. He's just missing the times that passed and wishes to go back.
nabi doesn't contain any of the roughness exhibited by the other songs. The narrator doesn't use any harsh words towards his lover, he's not angry at her for leaving, but rather quietly desperate for her to come back. He's neither taking the blame for what led to the breakup nor blaming his lover. To contrast that once again, mirage and blueblueseOul show that the narrators acknowledge their own flaws and actions contributed to their loneliness. The narrator of nabi doesn't seem to realise he's the reason for his own loneliness.
What nabi shows us is a fantasy of a peaceful morning with his lover after the narrator woke up from a dream in which they were flying together like flower petals. He's laying in bed, appreciating the sunlight coming in through his window, imagining she's there to tell him that the view looks dreamy. The song shows his gentle artistic soul, his ability to appreciate the little things in life, and that he holds his lover in his memory as a butterfly with beautifully colored wings. These are the wings he painted with a brush, adding whatever color he wanted to reflect his perception of her and create a masterpiece. It was the masterpiece which received all of his love and affection, leaving none for the person behind the canvas. Now that the subject of the painting realised she can find the color of her wings on her own, she spread them and flew to freedom, and he misses the times when she was contained in his vision.
He doesn't reflect on the fact that he continues to be dismissive of her emotions and self-expression, and he has no regard for how she might be feeling now that she's finally free. He feels like his hands are tied in this new, scary reality, so he's waiting for her to reach out and fall asleep by his side again. At the same time though, he says he feels like he's blooming on his own. He's sad, a little discouraged, but for the first time since picassO he's calm, gentle, and he's finding his inner peace. Rather than come to the conclusion that he was miserable in the relationship and that he could create happiness for himself once he pushes through this initial period of sadness, he just wants her to call his name again so they can return to what's familiar.
And who's to say she won't come back if he just continues to patiently wait? For all that we know, her side of the story could be something like hidOi OtOkO - once they take a break from each other and he starts to soften, once again embodying his utmost romantic self, she lets herself hope this time will be different. And, inevitably, everything will replay in front of their eyes again.

Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus immediately hit me as being strongly sonically reminiscent of a song by The Smiths. which might just be a case of, well there are only so many chords in the world and patterns end up repeating. but I’d like to ponder what I think the connection could mean, in case it is in fact an intentional reference.
It sounds like the song ‘Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want’ which is as the title sounds, a straightforward heartfelt plea that the narrator’s luck will change for once in his life: ‘See the life I’ve had, can make a good man turn bad’. In Taylor’s song as soon as I heard the notes of the piano motif, and particularly the strumming pattern of the guitar, my mind kept itching for it to lead into the instrumental from the end of the Smiths song, as if they have a similar chord progression or something. maybe someone more musically minded can explain what I’m hearing? I looked up the chords and both songs are a lot of Fmaj, C and G, but many songs share chords and sound totally different so it feels like there’s more that I can’t articulate.
Some context for those not familiar: the songwriter and lead singer of British 80s band The Smiths was Morrissey. he’s since done some imo bad solo stuff and veered alarmingly right wing as he’s aged, much to the distress of Smiths fans who initially admired him for using his cutting wit to be outspokenly left wing, pro-animal rights, anti-Margaret Thatcher etc.
For decades he didn’t explicitly come out, but was vaguely assumed to be gay because of his lyrics (e.g. songs like This Charming Man and Hand in Glove). since he wasn’t out or labelled a ’gay singer’ he was able to become this very popular symbol amongst straight men for championing an alternative, soft, intellectual masculinity for them to identify with. known for his depressing (but also clever and humorous) poetic lyrics, and performing holding bouquets of flowers. I’ve seen a video where blokes from the audience surge up out of the crowd one by one to kiss his cheek while he sings, as if he’s their deity of allowing men to get in touch with their feelings.
Around 2013 he came out as bi / ‘attracted to a small number of humans’ in a memoir. the tone of the press around it is like ‘Morrissey finally kind of admits he’s gay, eye-roll no surprise’. The thing is, he’s no one’s bi hero because by the time he came out he’d gained his current reputation as a rude dickhead whose politics have devolved into anti-immigrant bigotry among other heartless bad takes. the press like to use his song title ‘Big Mouth Strikes Again’ as a headline when he chimes off, he has the total opposite of Taylor’s cautious approach to voicing opinions publicly.
Again, I don’t know if Taylor’s making this musical reference intentionally, or if hearing the connection is just a me thing. but it’s interesting that Morrissey’s career is defined by being a beloved sexually ambiguous poet who became so different from his early persona and politics that many fans who worshipped him now talk about separating art from artist in order to keep enjoying the songs they love. both his similarities and differences to Taylor strike me as thematically relevant to our TTPD discussions.
Or perhaps just hearing the lyrics to Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want can help add a dimension of understanding to Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus. Taylor’s wistful tone of voice and longing ‘what if’ lyrics certainly fit the sentiment, and thinking about the two songs together adds to the depth of her weariness and desperation. I hope someone talented also picks up on the similarities because I’d love to hear a mashup some day.
Anon, I’m really impressed by all the thought you put into this. What an interesting back story for Taylor to potentially connect to.
It’s all way over my head though - I didn’t know of this song before your ask - so I’m hoping others will chime in.

WIP WEDNESDAY
thank you for tagging me @forabeatofadrum! I am not using my regular banner for this post because I HAVE FINISHED WRITING BREAKING STEREOTYPES!!! I'll be posting the first chapter on Friday (because I'm still proofreading/editing). so here is the "coming soon" art that I made, followed by the summary and a small tease of the story.
Tumblr media
Summary:
Blaine Anderson is the frontman for the hottest new band around, Breaking Stereotypes. Kurt Hummel is a fashion columnist at Vogue, who is also working on getting his Masters Degree in Fashion Design at Parsons. When Blaine finds Kurt’s portfolio in the back of a taxi, he is captivated by all the incredible designs in it, and takes it upon himself to return it, hoping to commission a few of the designs from him. During their first meeting, Blaine finds out that Kurt isn’t a fan of Breaking Stereotypes, nor does he have any clue who Blaine actually is.
WIP Wednesday Tease:
I’ll need to take your measurements before I go shopping for materials. Unfortunately, I don’t have an available office to use at the moment, but I should be able to reserve a workroom at school that we can use for that. So, I think we should set up a meeting for later in the week. In addition to taking your measurements, we would be able to discuss any alterations you might want or need on the designs as well. And I’ll be able to show you some fabric samples, so you can get a better idea about colors and textures.” “That sounds great!” Blaine replied. He took out his phone to check his calendar. “It looks like my next day off isn’t until Monday. Does that work for you?” Kurt appeared to mentally review his schedule before nodding. “I can do 3:30 pm. Is that okay?” Blaine smiled and added his meeting with Kurt to his calendar. “Perfect. Where should I meet you?” “How about you meet me outside of Parsons? The 5th Ave entrance? Then I can just show you into the workroom from there?” he checked. “That works for me,” Blaine told him. He was about to strike up a casual conversation when suddenly Kurt groaned in annoyance. “Ugh! Not this song again!” he whined. Blaine looked at Kurt in confusion, causing Kurt to point up to the speakers in the ceiling that were pumping soft music throughout the deli. He paused to listen closer to hear which song Kurt was referring to. What he heard was his own voice singing his band’s newest single, ‘Liar, Liar’, back at him. He hesitated before cautiously asking, “Not a fan of Breaking Stereotypes I take it?”

soft romance prompts from ash??? don't mind if i dooooo
shifting glances all around the room, and i can't decide between rulie and sweet tarts (the dirty candi girls could be fun!) so you decide 😄
There's something about the new library assistant that's driving Julie crazy.
He demands attention with the way he moves, as if he's dancing to a song that only he can hear. He definitely has the legs for it, long and shapely in a way that almost makes Julie miss her ex-girlfriend.
Maybe that's why he seems familiar, but her gut tells her that it's not just that.
"I know he's cute, Jules, but you'd better stop ogling him before he catches you."
Julie flushes, burying her face in the book she's supposed to be scouring as a reference for her paper. Flynn coos.
"Aw, I called it! Someone has a crush."
"I do not!" Julie hisses. "I've never even spoken to him. He just reminds me of…something. It's bothering me so much that I can't focus."
"Mm, that's what's bothering you. Not the way he winked at you right before he raked his hand through his hair."
"What?!"
Julie's eyes fly back to him, only for him to catch her gaze, and she squeaks, hurriedly looking anywhere else. Repeatedly. Maybe he'll think she's just trying to figure out what section to look in and she only looked at him accidentally.
She does need another book, besides, so she vanishes into the shelves once the coast appears to be clear, still wishing she could literally become invisible as she searches for her source.
The book she needs taunts her from a high shelf, and of course there aren't any step stools nearby, so she pushes her sleeves up with a sigh, bracing herself before she starts to scale the shelves.
"Need some help?"
She yelps as she slips, but a strong set of arms catches her before she can really fall or stumble too far, anchoring her to a firm chest. She tips her head back to thank her savior, only to find her face inches away from that of the cute library assistant.
His eyes are absolutely lethal up close, glittering green above a field of freckles that dot his flushed cheeks like daisies. Even his smile is bright, a disarmingly charming, crooked thing, and her heart pounds furiously in her throat, both from the proximity and the striking familiarity.
She's seen that smile before. Flynn's words suddenly make a lot more sense.
"You're that bassist," she blurts, wincing at her volume, but he quirks his eyebrows in an amused invitation for her to continue, so she does in a hurried whisper. "For Sunset Curve. I saw you guys at that showcase the Creative Arts Center puts on every Autumn. You're really good."
His cheeks go an even more brilliant shade of pink at the compliment, and it's not just her heart that's racing, she realizes with a start. His is thumping just as hard.
"Thanks." He unfastens his arms from around her waist with a sheepish cough.
He's rubbing the back of his neck when she spins around to look at him properly, and she's about to say something, anything, to keep their conversation from ending on an incredibly awkward note, but he surprises her again.
"You're the girl who sang along to most of the songs we covered. Not that you were the only one, but your voice really carries, and you—you're also really good. Like, to say you sound angelic isn't a stretch. I had you pegged as a performance major."
She giggles, covering her mouth to stifle the sound. She can't help it. It should be cheesy, but he's so earnest. He means it.
"Thank you. I am! I would've guessed that you study music too, but I've never seen you in any of my classes. Music minor?"
He bounces on his toes. "Yup! Piano."
"Me too! I couldn't do piano and vocals as my major focus, so."
"I'm sure you could," he says with a shrug, "but they made you choose one."
She pokes him with a pleased smile.
"You've never even heard me play. You don't even know my name!"
"Okay, well, I'm Reggie, and I'm sure if I ever heard you, it would only prove me right."
"Julie," she breathes, offering him her hand even though it's a little late for that, but he takes it anyway, folding it into his larger one. His calluses rasp against her skin, and she suppresses a shiver. "Hi."
He laughs quietly. "Hi, Julie."
He says her name like he's testing it out. He's still holding her hand as he searches her eyes. She doesn't want him to let go.
It gives her an idea.
"Can I write on you?"
His eyebrows fly back up as he finally releases her hand. He smirks at her.
"I usually get asked the other way around—"
She swats at him, and he laughs a little too loud, but no one comes to reprimand them. She's still trying and failing to fight a smile as he continues.
"But sure, by all means."
She's had a highlighter behind her ear. She must look like an absolute dork, but it comes in handy, now, and, well—she kind of is one. Something tells her he is, too.
She scribbles her number on the back of his hand in purple, along with her name and a little heart. He goes a little pink again when he sees it, and she melts, just a little. There's a hopeless romantic somewhere in there, she's sure of it.
"There. So you can come hear me play. Or ask me out. Either would be good. But I'd expect you to play for me, too. Okay?"
"Yeah," he says slowly, "yeah, that'd be—yeah. I'll call you."
She giggles again, pressing her lips to his cheek before scampering back to her seat, and she can't help it if they keep escaping her every time she catches his eyes.
It's not until Flynn gets filled in and lets out an ear-piercing squeal that they temporarily get booted from the library, though.

In Conversation with...Honey Gentry
Tumblr media
In the quiet moments between chords and words, where melody meets memory, there is a place where stories are turned into striking lullabies, and it’s here, in the delicate space of creation, that Honey Gentry finds the pulse of her music—woven from both the light and shadow of love. As a songwriter, she doesn’t just craft songs; she distils emotion -- her soft, harmonic vocals metamorphosed into something both deeply personal and universally resonant. Drawing inspiration from the visuals of Hollywood’s golden age of cinema, Gentry’s discography is otherworldly to say the least – a lustrous ensemble of melancholy chords accompanied by velvety, dream-like vocals that enchant the listener. Having the opportunity to speak directly to Honey herself, I wanted to understand just what it is that inspires her approach to songwriting and how her love for film plays a unique role in the creative process…
Charlotte: Hi Honey, it’s clear to see that you draw a lot of inspiration from the 1950’s/60’s when it comes to cinematography and your own music. What is it about this era that you feel drawn to and are there any specific elements of this time period you aim to incorporate into your own work?
Honey: It’s the late 60’s that inspires me so deeply. I think if I had to call on specific elements, I’d say it was the counterculture, anti-war sentiment, the civil rights movement, and more empowered, liberated consciousness that was growing out of that time - specifically for women. Living outside of the accepted norms of society to a path that’s right for you - I think of things like the rise of Wicca after the Witchcraft Act was repealed in the ‘50s. Just more freedom to explore and be free, than the generation before.
Charlotte: Whilst on the topic of inspiration & aesthetic, I’m curious to know just how important you feel imagery and artistic cohesiveness is as an artist?
Honey: For me personally, I do like to have a visual ‘world’ that manifests alongside the music. Not so much that the music is the skeleton and the imagery is the flesh - more that the music is a full body but the imagery is an adornment that helps express the personality on first impression. With an album like Dreamgirl in particular, I had been so inspired by my trips to California and how it made me feel - naturally there was a lot of blues and pinks that were pulling through at that time in the surrounding imagery. Almost like the Pacific and her sunsets were just making themselves really known! Even the cover art had been taken two years before the music was written - when I came across the picture again I just knew it would work. Like that’s where I mentally was when these songs came about - especially Take Me Somewhere, the album closer. So, I do think it’s important to me, as it helps communicate something about the music that helps invite other people in.
Tumblr media
The album that Honey is referring to, ‘Dreamgirl’, is her latest album, released in 2021 – and it truly is a spellbinding embodiment of work. The title track is one of my personal favourites. Beginning with softly-struck piano chords, the follow up of Honey’s vocals, rich yet gentle, transcend the production of this track and definitely earns its place as title track of the album.
Charlotte: How do you approach the balance between crafting dreamlike melodies and conveying depth or complexity through your lyrics?
Honey: Those two things go hand in hand for me; almost like the lyrics are trying to convey the conscious and the melody trying to convey the subconscious. I use one to influence the other. If I happen to write the music first, I try and feel out what lyrics want to come forward from the melodies. If I write lyrics first, I try to shape music around their emotion without too much effort; I try to let it flow out to support the lyrics. I try not to force either of those two aspects too much.
Charlotte: I, myself have dabbled in the art of songwriting and found great inspiration in both old classics and the more abstract of cinema. I remember watching a film called ‘Shangri-La Suite’ a few years ago and it moved me so much I immediately picked up my guitar in the dead of night and wrote a 1960’s counterculture-esque song that I felt aligned magically with the poignant themes of the storyline. I’m wondering if you also can recall any films that have had a similar impact and inspired you to pick up a pen and paper?
Honey: Oh I love this, I’ll have to check this movie out! Film is so immersive - I think that’s why us songwriters and artists are so inspired by movies. And probably most of us are processing our stories in the same way - ‘watching’ them play out as we write them, describing what we’re seeing. My list of films that have played that role for me are probably so predictable as to be a total cliche list - basically if it came out in the 90s and is about girlhood, I’ll love it: The Virgin Suicides, of course - any of Sofia’s work; Drop Dead Gorgeous; Girl Interrupted; The Craft; or my other total pleasure The Love Witch - it’s just as much their stories as the world you live in for those couple of hours whilst you watch. The world of girls and their stories.
Tumblr media
Charlotte: I’m interested to know how you believe the visual aesthetics of a film can influence the mood or atmosphere of a song during the writing process?
Honey: I would say - it’s all in how the film makes you feel. If it’s a particularly beautiful film emotionally and visually, it could get you to the same place emotionally in order to write a beautiful song. Film also puts you into another world, which is really useful when thinking of new perspectives in song writing - when you really relate to a character and their story, you might find that their words and story puts something into words you’ve been struggling to say for yourself.
Charlotte: And what is the most rewarding part of the songwriting process for you? Is it the initial spark of an idea, the act of writing, or hearing the final recording come to life? Honey: For me, the most rewarding part is usually when the melody for the chorus starts to form. Because if that’s a melody I want to hum, that just seems to form itself - that’s when I know I’ve “found” the song. Although it can take me a while to get there, it’s like the rest of it unfolds from that moment and all the ideas start to flow. There’s also a moment, if I’m working on production before I’ve written any lyrics, where a certain atmosphere starts to build and I know I’ve tapped into something. I’ve written this new song called Lick The Stars, and I’m working on it with Elliott (who I created Go With The Flow with); and the second I knew I loved it was when I started working with this beautifully haunting dulcimer sound. It had such a mysterious quality to it that I could immediately see the rest of the song unfold. The way we built out the rest of the song, that dulcimer started to take a back seat, but it was the starting point for the colour, the tone of the song. I love when that happens.
Charlotte: I noticed you’ve shared the work of Louise Glück and Mahmoud Darwish, both prestigious poets that clearly seem to inspire you. Do you like to write your own poetry? Or perhaps have any other creative mediums you enjoy exploring? Honey: Louise Glück in particular has been an influence for me - Under Taurus of course being directly inspired by her poem of the same name. Whether she would have appreciated that had she ever seen it… I don’t know! And of course Mahmoud Darwish, one of many brilliant Palestinian writers who seem to be able to transmute such pain into such beauty. Something I can’t help but admire and be in total awe. As for writing my own poetry, it’s rare that I do and it’s only ever for myself. If I’m collecting couplets or images, they tend to find themselves in songs. Rather than other forms of writing, my non-musical creative pursuits tend to be more crafty. I’m not very good at it but I love making my own candles.
Charlotte: It’s certainly the time of year to begin honing in on our own creative, peaceful rituals. As we find ourselves nearing the end of this year, I’m wondering if you have any resolutions, both personally and professionally, that you hope to achieve by this time next year?
Honey: I have resolutions, but I have resolutions all the time. I actually don’t believe that new year is a good time to try and set an intention and stick to it. Unless New Year’s Day falls on a particularly potent new moon I try and just see it as a nice bank holiday. Otherwise, it tends to bum me out! (I tend to experience birthdays the same way unfortunately - too much pressure!) Luckily, New Year’s Day is just one of many for us - we can set new intentions on every new moon; every birthday; in March when the astrological year starts… we can start over any day.

2023/07/18 English
BGM: INXS - New Sensation
Recently I can't get enough time to enjoy reading, therefore I couldn't have read Shuntaro Tanikawa's another collection of poetry. Today I worked early, and after that I wrote a poem at the lunchtime. I can see that my poetry archive has been enriched. How many poems will I be able to collect? Indeed, my mood is not stable so it will become "I will stop it because it is really troublesome", but now I am thinking "I want to keep on writing as long as possible" and "I hope I could make only one collection of poetry". A female friend draws her pictures, so I think how about using one of her work as its front cover... I even try to think about the title of my poetry collection (of course, I have to write the content!). I am the type of thinking its "outside", its "package" of my work, not thinking its "content". Like thinking the name of my rock band, not making its songs. In addition to, I just copied other people's work as "sampling", but all I just have done was just doing the imitation. Now, I am saying my name as "throbbing disco cat". This is from Takkyu Ishino's album's title. Not my original (Takkyu might think that he wants to beat me by his fist).
Once I was just an easy-going person who thought "All I want to do is just copying, not making my original". But that might be the creation, creative activity. At least, I am never a genius so I can't make any original works from nothing. I just do copy from other artists' masterpieces. I try to fit myself to the outer things. I train myself belong with outer rule like making myself by doing pushups or squats, or like young writers did their efforts of copying older writers' works or reading. During those copying, you find that your originality will appear from those imitation. Remember Haruki Murakami. He once tried to do the imitation of American literature, but his originality start sprouting from his writing (but you would say that he is "still" copying the great American literature. I can see what you would say). It is interesting that thinking about originality like that. We can see that it would be an unique expression if you try to do copying only, not relying on your originality. Andy Warhol's art, Pizzicato Five's music.
Now a lot of art can be seen within our archive. You can refer to easily. If you do googling, you can find its "sampling source". We are carrying a huge library within our pocket of the clothes or bags. Along with the currency of the era, poetry and literature must change. Although I am not a critic so I can't see how the change will go, but now we can find that "sampling" has become an usual of expression, not the way of expressing "Only professional audiences can understand what he/she tries to say" and "Great audience only". How can we think of "completely unknown/unseen things" and "enigmatic things"? Oh no, my "sleepy head" starts working if I think about this kind of creation actually. Theodor Adorno said that "Writing poetry after Auschwitz is barbaric". I believe that people like us need poetry and literature as our "soul foods". Indeed, Adorno criticizes that those poetry and literature must become any "commercial items", therefore they must become "mild" things and lose their "thorns" to criticize our reality. But I need the time and space to discuss about this issue. I run away from this topic. Sorry!
After today's work, I wrote my poems on the notebook again. I went to the English conversation class to learn the "expressions and slang" (today's lesson was different from ones we usually have). We learn how slang the English people have. For example, "chill/chilling" and "vibe/vibing", etc. We also learn some idioms, as "the tip of the iceberg" and "Strike while the iron is hot". After that the students started showing how slang and idioms they have known. In Japanese, we use "Kami (this means 'God')" often as "Kamitteru", "Kami taiou". I remembered that "a bookworm" and "Time is money", and also the writing words of "Lmfao" and "Lol". I thought I could write a poem based on the knowledge of slang I got from today's lesson. I also want to go to the library and borrow a collection of sonnets... Cynical people would say that "Writing your poor poetry after Shakespeare is foolish". But I move actively, maybe because of autism. I just try to think it's OK because I can't control anyone else.
My Way, My Style
They must hate me that's I decide Some are still standing by my side I don't care the boss who would ride I try to live like the Bonnie and Clyde
Yes it would bring me a certain hate They probably say that it's too late It must be a mistake just like Eve who ate But I try to do by my own, open the gate
This is the style of mine I just choose I want to live like Oasis I sing good blues That attitude might bring me very sweet fruits
Autistic people might be... no, must be mad Understand this decision, or I would feel sad But I have a good spirit made by my hot blood

Into the meanders of GOAD
Step by step we approach the presentation of the peculiar aspects of "Titania" the new album by the Tuscan Progsters GOAD which promises to be without a shadow of a doubt one of the most representative, engaging and amazing works of the band. With Maurilio Rossi, who has always been the head and heart of the band, we enter the depths of "Titania" and GOAD.
1.   Just two years have passed since the release of "La Belle Dame" and GOAD are ready to return on the scene with a new album, "Titania", which from the first hints seems to be one of your most intense, emotionally involving and above all demanding works from a compositional point of view and not only. Do you want to talk to us above all from an emotional point of view and what did you feel in drafting the new creation?
"Titania" is the logical continuation of the journey taken in the world of John Keats, a world made of passion, of the magic of the classical legacy of the great lyricists of all times to which the forever young poet, who died in Rome at the age of 25, refers in many compositions. Shakespeare enters in this softly, in reference to the figure of the fairy queen and the masterpiece "A Midsummer Night's Dream". At first I would have liked to set a large part of the work to music but the path in Keats' poetics have remained unfinished, largely the subject of the album "La Belle Dame" so I deliberately stopped. From an emotional point of view, as Keats himself says, Shakespeare puts the passions in the foreground, "a frightening band that strikes, each one, its string". Dream without sleep is poetry for Keats and I fully recognize myself in it for the music we compose in GOAD and, like Oberon who "drew wild songs from the weeping lute", we always find new emotions in tackling great poetry.
2.   "Titania" once again dives into a magical and fairy world, as you have done for the past and for most of your albums. Today your main source is always John Keats even if the title is strongly linked to William Shakespeare. What fascinates you so much about English literature that is your constant source of inspiration?
You are right, the reference to Shakespeare, as I said above, is only for the character of Titania, queen of the fairies and protagonist of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", mentioned several times by Keats whose muses are the great poets of the past. The fascination of great English literature comes from afar, from classical studies and from the great Anglo-Saxon music that wrote the modern culture of this art. The sounds of the language and the great value of the many lyrics already addressed in the GOAD albums, from E.A. Poe to Lee Masters, from H.P. Lovecraft to W. Savage up to John Keats always gives new stimuli in composing (goad at the end of things means really stimulus…). As Keats himself says in one of his poems: music will have eternal youth... (referring to Shakespeare's character "Oberon").
3.   The new album will be released next October in two special editions: a double vinyl with two fantastic bonus tracks and a double CD with a bonus live album recorded in Genoa in 2006, if I'm not mistaken, with some few additional songs recorded recently live in the studio in Florence, as if it was a real live, during the pandemic. Do you want to talk to us above all about why you think it is necessary to make these recordings known?
GOAD was born as a live music group and for decades that was its dimension. For a very long time every evening in front of a heterogeneous and mostly foreign audience, primarily Anglo-Saxon and American, so even the choice of language was almost obligatory, albeit to our great pleasure! The possibility of releasing an averagely recent live seemed to me a worthy consecration of so much sweat and effort on stage, but also a well-deserved recognition to the fantastic musicians who have accompanied the band's journey for a long time. Being active since 1974 obviously many fellow travelers have lost their way but the fulcrum has held firm, first of all Paolo Carniani on drums, who has always been with us, and my brother co-founder Gianni Rossi. Exceptional subsequent companions have been assiduously with GOAD: Francesco Diddi and Alessandro Bruno, incredible multi-instrumentalists (guitars, sax, flute, violin, oboe etc. both!) who, while carrying out demanding activities in music, are always present in case of records or live. Then Martino Rossi, artist's son (also a creative multi-instrumentalist...) and the violinist and guitarist Roby Masini who recently left modern music, devoting himself to classical of which he is an acclaimed master.
4.   It's no secret that you're no longer a youngster, at least not on your ID. What drives you after so many years to continue to create new albums so full of charm and sound always cloaked in a veil of magic?
It is undoubtedly true that the chronological age almost never corresponds to the biological age and, in the case of any artist, there is a clear advantage in always seeking new ways of expression... In my case, I find enormous strength in having infinite interests in the generally cultural and specifically literary fields, but it wouldn't explain everything. In reality, I constantly have compositional ideas running through my head and I feel really bad if I don't express them concretely. As long as I have this inner drive I will continue to write music. The topical point is not having any pre-established genre in mind, only different ways of musical and instrumental expression even within the same piece or work. I love writing simple songs like complex extended scores in which I don't try to bring out technical virtuosity but to evoke and arouse emotions, chills, even questions on the why of this music on the part of the user-listener. If I leave someone or many perplexed I'm already happy because it means that I've moved something.
5.   Unlike most Progressive bands, the technique in your compositions is never the main protagonist, but always a component at the service of the pathos that emerges strongly from the song. Is my impression correct?
You were right and I already knew that ahahah! To the service of the piece I tackle every score is written and developed, whether it's me or the great musicians who play with GOAD. No note is performed without a deep awareness of what it must arouse live. There is certainly more freedom and few brakes if not those that are established by continuing the score, but in the studio you follow the pathos of the piece, evoked by the text tackled in the first place, never have we written a note following stylistic features of genre, Prog or Rock or whatever.  Personally I don't recognize myself in the "Prog" category, born in relatively recent years. I try to bring out the passion, the feelings, from the changes of mood, tempos, atmospheres of the various compositions. The lesson of classical music is basic and foundational. Without the heritage and the study of the past nothing is achieved in any field. At least it is difficult to find meaning in what one does.
6.   The history of GOAD has its roots in the most classic Italian Progressive of the 70s but always with an eye towards gothic themes and above all English musical references such as Van Der Graaf Generator, King Crimson, Genesis, Procol Harum. How did you unite these two worlds and above all do you think there is a particular touch in GOAD that allows you to be so active and loved even decades after your birth?
The love for the great music produced in the 60s and 70s, beyond the genres, certainly influenced the sound of GOAD, to the extent that each value proposition, of which you listed something, had a psychological impact and practice, taught how to write or perform etc. I could list dozens and dozens of wonderful artists, from the Beatles to Talk Talk, Keith Emerson, Genesis with Peter Gabriel, from Jimi Hendrix to Cream with Clapton and Bruce, my master of guitar, bass and singing too. I believe that if GOAD has loyal admirers it is thanks to our personal profile, a particular brand (many references but with its own path). I believe that the greatest satisfaction for any artist is this, an identity that makes you recognize among a thousand different proposals. Nothing happens by chance and I believe that those who still follow us know how much hard work there is behind our records and also how much courage in resisting other types of sirens. And let me add also speaking of the courage of those who produce us! Without "artistic" producers we would only have music that is perpetually the same in terms of cliché and forms.
7.   While waiting for the release of the album, would you like to leave us a message?
I mean that, for those who already love us, in "Titania" and in the enclosed live, they will find much that they will recognize with pleasure but also much more that is new and perhaps surprising. If he makes comparisons with the other albums he will discover their uniqueness. With Keats I mean that "beauty is truth and truth is beauty"!

gonna do this with my rarepair (thrair?) ot3 yippee :3
fandom is the office (us)
also if this blatantly contradicts anything (like the first episode of the show is like “Jim would never trip he is incredibly graceful”) then uh. Oops. Haven’t seen the show in awhile 0-o
Who’s the clumsy one? How clumsy are we talking?
Jim and this isn’t even a contest. He is tall as fuck, and although I am tiny, I imagine being tall and/or long-limbed would effect balance. He wouldn’t be like, ridiculously clumsy, but probably the most clumsy out of the three of them.
Who’s more likely to forget something?
Jim again, he strikes me as the type of person who would walk into a room, forget what he was doing, leave, and then suddenly be like “oh right I was supposed to turn off the oven. ….fuck.”
What are they secretly singing in the shower?
Pam-Avril Lavigne (reference to a series of dumb Instagram stories I made a while back)
Karen-Whatever song is playing in her head that she can’t get rid of (just like me fr)
Jim-He wouldn't sing actual songs, he would just make up shit as he went along.
Who’s the one day-dreaming of a road trip?
I could see all three of them wanting to go on a road trip. I imagine Karen would like to see the world, I think Pam would like to see the beauty of both nature (like cool mountains and shit) and also interesting architecture, and Jim would like a chance to see places other than Scranton.
If they could be anywhere in the whole wide universe, where would they be?
Jim wants to be not at his job, Pam would want to be in one of those like, countryside towns with beautiful cottages and plants in Paris or some aesthetic shit from movies, and I could see Karen wanting to live in a place with some sort of interesting history behind it (but like cool history not horribly sad history.)
Which fictional world would they want to be a part of?
I honestly don’t know of any hugely popular fictional worlds lmao. Uhhhhhh I think Karen would think she would make a cool as hell Jedi, I think Pam would like to live in a world with magic of some kind, nothing specific though, and idk abt Jim.
What are the shows they would want to watch? Any movies?
I mentioned earlier I think Karen could be a fan of Star Wars, but also in the COD episode her username was shown to be KarenTheJimSlayer, so it seems she’s a fan of Buffy (or at least one of the people working on the show lol.) I could also see her liking Firefly. Pam would probably like animated films and shows, specifically like old animated Disney movies like Bambi and Cinderella. Jim would obviously like sports movies, but I could also see him liking those talking dog movies. Naturally, he likes the Air Bud franchise. And would probably also have scarily strong opinions on it.
Indoor activities or outside?
Karen is a canon Gamer Girl (tm) and that seems pretty indoorsy. We don’t get much of a glimpse into other hobbies of hers, but we can assume from that she would prefer to stay inside. Pam’s favorite hobby is art, as shown in the show. Art can be done inside and outside, and often people will draw outside if they want to draw landscapes, however it is mostly done inside. Also, as much as Jim seems to like sports, he doesn’t seem very sporty himself, more so like he would enjoy watching them. Overall, indoor activities.
Would they have a tumblr(s)?
Karen would occasionally reblog memes and shitposts, or posts ramblings herself. Pam would use tumblr to post her artwork. Jim would use tumblr specifically to prank Dwight’s. He would have multiple throwaways in case Dwight caught on.
Personal Tastes:
Breakfast for dinner: what’s their opinions?
Idk. I guess neutral? Personally I have no strong opinions and think it’s a strange hill to die on either way lol.
What music do they listen to? Do they listen to anything?
Karen-Rock, because she’s cool and rock is cool. Could also see her liking Hoizer??? Idk
Pam-Avril Lavi— In all seriousness, uh like soft pop? Like idk dodie? Keep in mind I don’t know how to idenitfy music genres.
Jim-No specific taste. Honestly I can’t imagine him knowing too much about music, I think he would just pick songs for his playlists off vibes. WAIT ACTUALLY I THINK HEAVY METAL/HARD ROCK. No reason other than the comedy. Like this lanky 30 year old guy wearing a tie and slacking off at his job and coming up with pranks and you’d expect him to listen to something lighthearted but no it’s heavy metal.
Morning birds? Night owls? Combination of the two?
I think Karen would probably stay up later (although tries to go to bed early on work nights.) None of them particularly enjoy waking up early, but kinda have to for work. Pam would probably be the most used to waking up early.
And a Few Personal Favorites:
Who’s more likely to start a snowball fight?
Jim (canon, as seen in the episode where he snowballed Dwight.) Karen would be a VERY close second, and Pam would happily join, and although she would start some herself, probably wouldn’t as much as Karen and Jim.
Thunderstorms: yea? nay?
I could see Pam liking the background noise of the rain, but I could also see her getting irritated if it went on too long. I could also see her getting worried the quickest if the storm was too severe (although not that much quicker than Jim or Karen.) Karen and Jim would probably work together to exaggerate what happened on a call to Michael (“yeah sorry we can’t come in.” “The uh-“ “the roof” “it broke”.) After awhile I think they would all start to feel cooped up, but I think it would get to Jim first.
Ice cream: flavors, toppings, etc.
Karen-Vanilla with strawberry.
Pam-Anything with chocolate.
Jim-Vanilla or Mint Chocolate Chip. I’m sorry he strikes me as a toothpaste ice cream guy.
Questions for your OTP/OT3/the Loves of Your Life
Every Day Quirks:
Who’s the clumsy one? How clumsy are we talking?
Who’s more likely to forget something?
What are they secretly singing in the shower?
Dreams:
Who’s the one day-dreaming of a road trip?
If they could be anywhere in the whole wide universe, where would they be?
Which fictional world would they want to be a part of?
Interests:
What are the shows they would want to watch? Any movies?
Indoor activities or outside?
Would they have a tumblr(s)?
Personal Tastes:
Breakfast for dinner: what’s their opinions?
What music do they listen to? Do they listen to anything?
Morning birds? Night owls? Combination of the two?
And a Few Personal Favorites:
Who’s more likely to start a snowball fight?
Thunderstorms: yea? nay?
Ice cream: flavors, toppings, etc.

Assorted ML Headcanons pt. 2
Once again, adding a read more early in because this thing is like five times longer than pt. 1
Juleka has Dyslexia
The long-sleeved shirt Alix wears with the snakes on the sleeves has some sort of inappropriate band name or slogan on the front, so she wears that weird tank top thing over it to avoid getting dress-coded.
Alya keeps trying to find an “our show” to watch with Marinette, but Marinette keeps caving into temptation and watching ahead on her own. So Alya starts choosing only new shows that are currently airing, but if they don’t hang out the day the episodes come out, Marinette will still watch them. They mostly do movies now.
Kagami is great at drawing realism, and can gorgeously render her real life references, but she’s unsatisfied with her work because what she’s really interested in is stylized art. She wants to develop a beautiful manga-like style, but whenever she tries to draw fictional characters, it ends up looking more like anime George Washington than the picture in her head. She’s further discouraged by people praising her realistic art, feeling pressure to keep doing what she’s good at over what she actually likes
Adrien was an Animal Jam kid
Chloe is inflicted with We Can’t Let People Know We Have Interests. She hears Alix and Mylene chatting about some popular sitcom she also likes in class, but as many times as she could’ve butted into the conversation, she can’t make it happen. On her way to lunch, Sabrina got stuck talking to Max and Rose about their Animal Crossing islands. Well Chloe’s is super cute if she can say so herself,,, no, she couldn’t say anything at all. Hurry up, Sabrina. Chloe knows that classic anime is the fastest way to Adrien’s heart, but she can’t bring herself to strike up a conversation about it. Isn’t being a weeb cringe? Not that Adrikins could ever be cringe- I mean- uh-
Sometimes Luka gets stuck in customer service mode after work and uses The Voice around his friends. At band practice, he introduces the next song into the mic, and Nino’s like, “are we about to hear rock music or phone line hold music?”
Astruc implied that Nath wasn’t in the Christmas special because he’s Jewish, but Mylene and Ivan weren’t there either, and ofc nobody asked about them, so headcanons! Ivan is Eastern Orthodox, so his Christmas isn’t on Dec 25th, and Mylene believes in certain spiritual stuff, but doesn’t participate in any organized religion or specific denomination.
Rose used to do ballet, but she stopped because her time in the hospital made her fall too far behind. She still likes dancing, and has a good feel for it because of ballet, but she prefers modern styles now.
Alix was named after her dad. If she was born a boy, she’d be Alim Jr., but since she’s a girl he changed one letter.
Marc forces Nath to get out of the house, get vitamin D, interact with other people, and exercise, but Nath returns the favor by bugging Question Marc about his posture, especially while they’re working.
Zoe’s “one and only good friend” from New York who wrote I ♥️ U on her shoe wasn’t a platonic gal pal at all.
Kim is colorblind, but he doesn’t know it
Mylene has that “not now, sweety. Mommy’s cyberbullying the mayor” t shirt
Alya learns that Hawkmoth reads the Ladyblog, and since he knows her identity but the public doesn’t, she hides passive aggressive “fuck you” jabs in her posts.
Alya putting the greater good over journalistic integrity by intentionally spreading misinformation on the blog if the team needs it. She’s staged a “candid” photo of LB with Marinette in the background after a close call. She “mistakenly” misreported the powers of a couple new villains as being brainwashing when they actually did things like grant wishes or were literally made of money so that people wouldn’t go after them and make them harder to defeat. She and Marinette set up “exclusive” semi-scripted interviews with the zodiac heroes where they told made-up origin stories so that Hawkmoth wouldn’t trace the compromised heroes back to their whole class or friend group. Alya is prohibited from typing the word “kwami”.
Luka has synesthesia and actually hears music when he sees people
Markov pretends to not have certain functions out of laziness. “Can you look this up?” I’m not a search engine (he’s not, but he has instant access to one). “Can you scan this document for me?” No. “Can you send my paper to the printer?” No.
He also pretends to be more advanced than he actually is. “Hey Markov, can you-” I am downloading your private browsing history as we speak. “Wh- you can’t do that!” I already did. Now I’m hacking into your Twitter account.
Markov likes to plays dumb and take everything literally. He understands jokes and sarcasm just fine, but enjoys a bit of trolling. He responds to idioms like Amelia Bedelia. If someone makes a joke with a euphemism, he pretends to be totally innocent. He says that Max put parental controls on him, but that’s a lie.
Everyone thinks Alix is an extrovert, but she’s actually an introvert. She’s very sociable, but hanging out too much wears her out, and she needs a lot of quiet or alone time to recharge.
Everyone thinks Marc is an introvert, but he’s actually an extrovert. He spends a lot of time in private, but that’s mostly because he’s shy, anxious, and afraid to leave his comfort zone. When he does, though, he gets that extrovert buzz.
The Sandboy kid, the Risk froggy kid, and the Kuro Neko cat girl based on Rhythm are all besties. Writing this reminded me of that kids’ book series called The Familiars about a blue jay, black cat, and frog.
Until he finally shows up again in the show, hc that the Sandboy kid is named Jay
Adrien is jealous of his friends’ ability to express themselves. He thinks about how he’d dress if not for his father and the brand. Would he dress alternatively or go for some aesthetic? Would he want to look rebellious or preppy (but not in a default Sims kind of way)? He doesn’t actually know, but wishes he could try stuff out.
Jalil is a cataphile (someone who explores the forbidden parts of the Paris catacombs, which is basically all of them except for the tiny tourist stretch, as a hobby). He goes with his friends, and brings Alix with him frequently. She’s practiced her spray painting skills down there.
Kagami and Juleka bonding over their affects and how their tone of voice doesn’t reflect how they actually feel, but from an outside perspective it just sounds like the most monotone conversation ever
Each of the doodles on Zoe’s shoes in canon corresponds to one of her friends and has a deeper meaning, even if it’s just a little inside joke. Okay real talk I need this lore in canon. We haven’t seen them super zoomed in and from all angles, but there are clearly individual, unique drawings on them.
Alya and Nino low-key had feelings for each other before Animan, but they were in denial and didn’t really take them seriously until then.
It started when Nino left school one day with sort of fluffy hair and a bit of bang, but came back the next morning with a buzz cut, and Alya was like huh he still looks cute somehow
Rose makes good tea and Nath makes good coffee
Mylene has a vegetable/herb garden on her balcony and rooftop. Her bedroom is also packed with potted plants. The air is so crisp.
The whole group has one big shared Minecraft server where they live in the same ever-expanding village together
Chloe likes those resource management mobile games where you run a cafe or build a kingdom or something
Nathalie plays video games in private, especially after she got sick. Gabriel doesn’t know. She usually buys whatever’s most popular lately, and prefers adventure games.
Ladybug explains the plan to her team and asks if they have any questions. Every time, they makes a point to ask the most off-topic questions possible. “What’s your favorite color?” Take a wild guess, buddy. (Saying pink might compromise her identity) “if you put a miraculous holder under a hydraulic press, would they die?” What the fuck? I don’t know, we’ve never encountered that problem and hopefully never will. Like, probably? “Who was your top artist on Spotify Wrapped?” That’s a secret (obviously Jagged). “If doing it would lead to instant world peace, would you rather kiss Hawkmoth or Gabriel Agreste?” Everyone shut up. Shut up. The villain is getting away.
Rose collects everything for her scrapbooks. Receipts, ticket stubs, stickers, brochures, you name it, tucked between photos of her hanging out with friends. “Hey, what was that cafe called that we went to last fall-” she has it all documented.
Adrien reads Marc and Nath’s ladynoir-centric comics laying on his stomach on his bed with his hands under his chin kicking his feet in the air and giggling
Once they made a comic with Carapace as the main character, and Nino was like omg THANK YOU :’-) and they’re like huh didn’t know he was such a big fan
Marc and Nath scrap the majority of their original concepts because they don’t want to give Hawkmoth any ideas. The angst stories and dangerous villains don’t make it to publishing so that Hawkmoth won’t copy them if he sees them. A lot of their villains are either real ones or original ones whose powers are fun but useless to Hawkmoth’s goals.
At the same time, sometimes Hawkmoth coincidentally makes villains similar to something the boys have already done, except Worse, like the trashiest bootleg equivalent.
LB: Rena Rouge texted me that someone just got akumatized over losing a chess tournament. CN: I wonder what their power is. Hey, this reminds me of that one comic issue with the chess villain. LB: oh yeah, The Grandmaster. She had that tall crown based off the white queen piece with the flowing robes, and she turned the whole city into a giant chessboard! We and the other heroes could only take turns moving across city blocks based on the piece role she assigned us. We had to let some of our friends get captured, but we managed to pull off a checkmate and break her akumatized crown. What if that story is about to become reality? The actual villain Gabe made: my name is The Bongcloud Opener. Everyone I touch turns into a giant lifeless pawn piece, and I look like a sentient checkered Van.
Kim has been blocked and unblocked from the group chat maybe five separate times for spamming memes
The “y’all watch bob l’éponge?” Tweet except it’s Zoe in New York
Chloe once had and maybe even still has a crush on Alix, but she doesn’t even really realize it because she has a severe case of comp het. Alix sees it, though. Of course, Alix is aro, so Chloe didn’t stand a chance regardless of her bullying. Alix uses this immoral opportunity to mess with Chloe as much as possible.
Everyone makes jokes about how Chloe is both gay and homophobic, but Adrien’s like oh sweetie you have to deal with those internalized problems
Rose got into embroidery, and she got Ivan into it too so that they could make punky battle jacket-like patches for themselves and their friends. They aren’t very good yet, but the shaky needlework is kind of charming.
Nino tells Adrien that his dad has such objectively horrible taste, anything he actually likes must be terrible. His designs? Ugly. His decor? Depression-inflicting. His “friends”? Assholes. The food he orders his private chef to cook? Unseasoned. Another time, Gabriel approaches Nino who came to his house to pick up Adrien, and tells him that he was genuinely impressed by Nino’s DJ work at his last fashion event. Nino shrivels up inside.
Anarka lets the kids try alcohol at home. Juleka thinks everything she’s tried is nasty unless it was drowned in fruit and sugar, but Luka thinks it’s okay. When Anarka gets wine, they try it together, and Luka tries to do the pretentious wine critic thing, but he can’t actually tell the difference between the types the way his mom can.
Y’know that hoodie Marc was wearing in his early concept art with the logo that’s a clear parody of Nirvana? Nath totally stole it from him and sleeps in it.
Marinette is Not Okay during exams week. She stresses tf out and gets like no sleep yet somehow still does exceptionally well
Everyone is suddenly ride or die during exams week. Tom and Sabine supply the kids with snacks while Max is compiling all the algebra formulas they might need to memorize into a Quizlet, Sabrina is trying to come up with mnemonic devices to help with physchem, and Adrien is doing a review lecture of the French readings like he’s on a podcast.
Marc folds cranes when he’s anxious
In the last post I wrote that Alix and Nath dyed their hair and did the messed up cuts together. Alix re-dyes hers more often to make sure it stays neon hot pink, which involves bleaching it the second her roots start showing, or else she hates it. Nath only re-dyes his when it starts looking really bad in that awkward phase with the faded color and long roots. Because of this, Nath maintains sooomewhat healthy hair, but Alix’s is fried. She doesn’t have to use as much hair gel or extra-fry it with a straightener now because it pretty much stands up on its own. It feels like straw. Juleka wants to scream every time she sees Alix has made it worse.
Rose makes cute contact names with a billion emojis for everyone in her phone
She has Juleka as “Juleka🦇💜💘” [bat, electric guitar, purple heart, pink heart with an arrow], so she was offended when she found out that Juleka has her as “Rose”.
Turns out that Juleka doesn’t even make contacts for most people at all. The home screen of her text app is full of conversations with people who are just their phone number or “maybe: [name]”. The Kitty Section group chat is her, “Rose”, “Smurf”, and *Ivan’s phone number*
Speech and debate club Mylene
Marinette made all sorts of cute things for the kwamis under the guise of the dollhouse project. It started with the “dollhouse” being a temporary hiding place for the miracle box, but then she started making tiny clothes and furniture for the kwamis to play with, and wherever anyone asked she’d say she’s just gotten into making miniatures as a hobby. Fancy, decorative dollhouses used to be a big flex in Western Europe, after all, but this one is more like the one from the Borrowers.
Kagami has a traditionally Japanese bedroom arrangement with a futon that she puts away in the morning. The first time Adrien was in her room, it was during the day, and he’s like where the fuck is your bed
The girls play the wholesome fuck, marry, kills about the guys at their sleepovers like the "get them randomly assigned as your lab partner for a whole semester, get trapped with them on a broken elevator for ten hours, they’re your employee trainer for your new job at McDonalds” one from that one tumblr post
Kim tries to get the guys to play Truth or Dare at sleepovers, but they don’t really want to, reminding Kim that he legally can’t be involved in dares since Timebreaker. He makes them “play” anyways, but they can only do Truth, and the guys respond to each question with some smartass answer. They find loopholes in Kim’s wording like genies until they bully him into quitting/until it’s his turn.
Max and Alix got that 5D Chess game on Steam as a joke, but after messing around with it, they started really getting into it and taking it seriously
Adrien’s friends seeing his dad as cartoonishly villainous is already canon. They start a tabletop RPG campaign, and the major antagonists are suspiciously one-to-one with Gabriel, Nathalie, and the Gorilla.
Everyone jokes about dressing up as Gabriel, the scariest monster, for Halloween. Nobody actually does, but on a separate occasion, Kim tries to get Ivan to dress up as Gorilla and Nath to dress up as Nathalie and video call Kim from his tablet. Kim, dressed as Gabriel, takes the call from a remote room. Then, they break into Adrien’s house because that’s just what his friends do for fun, and they’re pretty much experts at this point. Nath tells Adrien his father needs to have a word with him, turning on the tablet to reveal Kim, who tells him, “Son. I need to have a word with you”.
Zoe and Marc are best friends, and Ivan and Luka are best friends. I think (?) this may be canon, but they’ve never actually said it.
Ivan is The Realest to Luka, like in Crocoduel when everyone was planning to manipulate him, Ivan stuck up for him. Also Luka explicitly hates liars and Ivan is physically unable to tell a lie. They make each other playlists and write lyrics together. The two of them have one of those Spotify Blends separate from the four-person Kitty Section one.
I feel like Zoe and Marc are a year below Marinette’s class, like they just give off younger sibling energy. As classmates, they spend more time with each other than with the rest of the group. In Gabriel Agreste, when Zoe manipulates Jean-Biblespoilers, she calls Marc afterwards instead of Marinette or Mylene or anyone else. They are wlw mlm solidarity. Ms. Mendeleev brings up a partner project and they look at each other like that Nicki Minaj Only meme with the Veggietales characters. They talk shit in really fast and informal English so that their classmates don’t understand them.
Rose’s sandals have a pink circle on the sole that isn’t positioned in a way for it to be the anchor between the sole and the rest of the sandal. It reminds me of this old Sketcher’s line called Bella Ballerina where the shoes had a round, spinning piece that you could balance and twirl on. Since Pigella’s design is inspired by ballet, I hc that Rose’s shoes also have that spinning piece.
Alix spreads historical misinformation to Jalil, who eats it right up, because it’s hilarious. Just trust me bro, I’m Bunnyx.
On the other hand, Jalil being like Ronaldo from Steven Universe by making absolutely insane conspiracy theories that happen to be 100% correct, and Alix is like shitshitshit how does he know??? Do I need to cover this up???
Kim is a great ally, and maybe even questioning, but he’s so confused all the time
Juleka tells him she’s a lesbian. Now she’s obviously French, but he’s pretty sure her mom is Scottish, and Jagged is a native English speaker. Is there some secret little island nation in the UK called Lesbia that he’s never heard of before?
Max: whoa, Nath, you’re ambidextrous? I didn’t know that! Kim: uh, dude? What rock have you been living under? He’s been with Marc for like five months
Zoe: don’t you think that girl over there looks a little, y’know, *limp wrist* Kim: you’re stereotyping someone based on their appearance and judging them? Wtf, I didn’t expect this from you. Zoe: uh, what? I’m wondering if I should ask for her number.
While Alix is gone, the kids fill in her place by putting her hat on and pretending to be her. What would Alix say if she were here? They try to copy her mannerisms while wearing it.
Y’know that one post I made about the true power of the rooster miraculous being that the holder can do anything they and the people around them believe they can do? Hence the concept of “pretension” as in pretending to be something you’re not, and the power of “sublimation” as in impressing people as well as turning something solid into vapor, like how the power is solid as long as people believe it but turns to vapor if they don’t. Yeah, that.
I feel like all the kids were Warrior Cats role players or the like at some point in their lives, even the “cool” ones, and some of them probably still are
I also feel like all of them would be good at grilling. I think every single one of them would be capable of making a great steak if they put their mind to it
All the Ace Attorney-like full name puns among the major cast are intentional in-universe:
“Anarka Couffaine” isn’t her given name; it’s a rock star stage name she came up with (Anarka=anarchy, acouphènes=tinnitus), but she changed it legally. When she had the twins, she gave them names that end with A to keep the acouphènes pun.
The Lavillants have that last name by coincidence, but when they had Rose, they intentionally chose the name Lavillant, Rose (la vie en rose, life in pink) to wish her a happy, ideal life
Mr. Anciel is an immigrant, and changed his name to be more westernized and easy to pronounce by French speakers similarly to Sabine. I’m thinking his given name had “Sun” in it and he was like, y’know what’d be so funny… which is how Marc Anciel (arc en ciel=rainbow) and any potential sibling(s) ended up being named after things “in the sky”.
I’m not applying this to Kim Ature ‘cause that’s not his canon name even though apparently one of his dads is Mr. Ature
Subcategory for family headcanons, but some of them are sad :(
Mylene has a mom who is black. She and Fred are happily married, but she’s usually pretty busy with work, so they mostly see her at home.
Rose has a bio mom and dad who love her very much, but they can be a little overbearing due to her illness and have trouble seeing her as not a little kid anymore. They don’t really get all that punk rock stuff she likes, but huh as long as she’s happy.
Alix had a mom, but she died a couple years before Origins. Jalil took after her while Alix took after their dad. Alix didn’t take it very well for a long time, but she’s better by the time this school year started.
Max’s dad died when he was very young, so he was pretty much raised by Claudie
Nino and Chris’s parents are divorced. It happened after Nino’s older brother died. (How much of this is canon? The Lahiffe lore is such a middle-of-the-iceberg thing, but apparently they’ve been putting off writing it into the show since season 2? Like can they please just explain it?)
The Cesaires have basically adopted Nino anyway
Nino used to bully tf out of Chris, but now he has to take on a more responsible role as an older brother, so he acts more mature.
If Kim’s last name is Le Chien, but he has two dads, Mr. Le Chien and Mr. Ature, does that imply that they’re divorced and Mr. Le Chien has custody? Maybe Kim is Mr. Le Chien’s biological kid from a previous relationship, perhaps with someone named Nguyen, and Mr. Ature is a stepdad? Sure, hc that they’re fiancés, and Kim accepts his soon-to-be stepfather as a dad.
In which case, hc that Kim is fully Vietnamese, but the stepdad is French
Nath’s family isn’t very cash money :(
Ivan has a pretty large family compared to everyone else. Lots of siblings and close extended family.
Sabrina’s family is Irish. Tbh this isn’t inspired by her being ginger so much as her miraculous being based off a piece of Celtic jewelry which I only learned after the official website made me Google what a torc is.
Is Marc the only major POC character who doesn’t have a canon ethnicity? I think he is… someone with a Twitter ask Astruc about this for me. I saw people hc him as Latino which is very valid, but I always assumed he was Asian. Hc that his mom is Chinese and his dad is Korean. Until canon proves or disproves me, I hc that the Sandboy kid is his brother.
I love the semi-popular hc that Marc and Marinette are cousins. I will hold on to it until canon proves it right or wrong, although if it’s true then I feel like they would’ve said so already. In this case, Shu Yin would be Marc’s mom. Since she lives in London and he lives in Paris, she and the dad would be divorced. Considering how the DPCs talk about her,,, it’d be no wonder. It happened recently, and Marc only moved to Paris from London in late season 2, which is why Marinette was already friends with him and checking in on him despite him appearing out of nowhere.
Marinette growing up hearing “you should be more like Marc. He’s so organized and dedicated” while Marc’s hearing “you should be more like Marinette. She’s so outgoing and ambitious” and they’re both like shut uppp
When they played pretend as little kids, the plot lines were always so complex. And each time they saw each other, they picked up from where they left off
The same way Roland is shown to be bigoted by having him be uncomfortable with everything that’s not super outdated, Shu Yin is shown to be bigoted by simply hating everything that inspires love and sparks joy
I need to meet canon Shu Yin at some point
Subcategory for the kids interacting with their kwamis after they become permanent holders. The pronouns I used for the kwamis aren’t my headcanons so much as me dealing with the “canon” ones being different across every dub.
Sometimes Kim forgets that Xuppu exists which allows him to get up to trouble on his own. Kim uses only the worst lies and most incomprehensible bs to explain the mischief Xuppu caused, but his dads are like eh, just Kim being Kim *shrug*. Kim is proud of himself for being so smooth about it but nobody has any clue what he just said.
Kim gets Xuppu going about something and then uses his rambling as background noise to help him concentrate better
Roarr annoys Sass for sport
Roarr is a big fan of the music Anarka tends to blast at an unhealthy volume on the Liberty. Juleka makes him playlists of songs she thinks he’d like, partially because sitting down and listening to them through an earbud prevents him from bouncing off the walls 24/7.
Sass low-key hates it here, but he has saintly patience and loves Luka, so he acts like he’s having a great time around him. Anarka’s immature behavior ticks him off sometimes, but he’d never tell him that.
Sass getting Luka to focus on things that benefit him instead of putting other people first all the time
Max builds Markov an update that allows him to actually see and talk to Kaalki. Maybe with the help of some magic alien technology sent over by Olympia and Aeon as a favor between superheroes.
Kaalki has a hard time believing that researchers and inventors can be glorious and famous until Max catches her up on the exponential growth of technology during the last ~200 years she spent inactive. Sure, Kaalki’s seen phones and computers, appliances, cars and planes, all that since becoming active again, but she never stopped to think about the humans who made all this stuff possible.
Kaalki having a “yassify Max” agenda vs Max trying to explain what light/dark academia is and that the vintage look is very much on purpose. Also Kaalki being the devil on Max’s shoulder trying to convince him to make more bad decisions, and he’s like that’s okay, Kaalki.
He gets on her case for backseat gaming too much, so she tries to only cheer him on when he plays, but with her prim and proper way of speaking it sounds absolutely hilarious. “Desecrate him, love! Yes! Absolutely fantastic execution!” It gets worse when she starts picking up on gamer lingo.
Daizzi tells Rose that they miss the little hats Ladybug would make them and Rose is like don’t worry I got you and pulls out her craft supplies
They have little tea parties together
Mullo bugs Mylene because they think it’s hilarious, and at first they get to her, but then she grows a tolerance to the pranks and jokes, and eventually starts to get revenge. Mullo will change Mylene’s phone alarm to horror monster heavy breathing audio and Mylene will just pull an air horn out from under her pillow and set it off in Mullo’s face.
She sprays water at them with a spray bottle like a naughty cat when they’re up to no good.
Orikko has very sophisticated tastes. When Marc asks what to feed him, he asks for caviar toast followed by truffle bouillon with a main course of wagyu steak and a gold leaf-covered pastry for dessert. Marc’s like yeah no give me something I can buy with the comic book money. Popcorn? Sunflower seeds? He’ll get a boxed sandwich from Carrefour, plate a tiny piece of it like it’s from a Michelin rated restaurant, and lie.
If Orikko could’ve chosen any holder he’d have gone with Adrien
On day one, Nath gives Ziggy some kiddy paints and construction paper while he’s working on the comic, and she dips her little hooves in it and starts finger-painting a picture that looks like something a little kid would make. When she’s done she’s like, “hey, look! I made a picture of you!” :) And Nath’s like aww that’s so cute :) Later, she tells him she’s been trying to catch up with all the contemporary and modern art movements she missed. She’s more comfortable with renaissance art. Anyways, here’s an indistinguishable study of a Rembrandt painting she made.
Nath regrets teaching Ziggy how to use his computer. She learns quickly and somehow gets into every piece of media with a reputation of being cringe. Nath is jumpscared awake by Ziggy playing FNAF in the middle of the night, and when he tells her to turn that off, she shows him her Michael Afton fan art where she made him way more attractive than he likely is in canon. He opens Spotify Daily Mix 1 expecting the usual ten-minute-long songs that are at least 30 years old, but his algorithm has been invaded by hyperpop. He opens his art program to find that Ziggy made a whole Baroque style painting on a single layer. He notices his Minecraft playtime has risen an inhuman amount, and after spending forever loading the server, finds a ridiculously detailed replica of Versailles. He opens his notebook and finds doodles of Among Us crewmates. She sleeps on an amoung pequeño plushie.
Sabrina and Barrk watch corny reality TV together and Discuss. They sit on the couch with a bag of peanut butter chips and comment on everything that happens. “I can’t believe that arrogant jerk got the last rose instead of that really sweet guy. Did you hear what he was saying behind The Bachelorette’s back?” “Why did they send home the only drag queen who actually did something super original while some of the other ones barely even followed the prompt? The judges are so biased.” They talk back and forth really fast, too.
Ivan gets Stompp to critique his poetry. They don’t know much about this stuff, but when they have an opinion, they tell it how it is.
Sometimes Stompp suggest taking a bit of a Machiavellian approach to Ivan’s problems and Ivan’s like, dude it is NOT that serious.
Nino and Wayzz have opposite tastes in everything. Wayzz likes green tea while Nino thinks it’s too earthy and prefers energy drinks that practically turn your piss into acid, to Wayzz’s horror. Wayzz likes minimalist decoration, neutral colors, and natural sunlight, but Nino’s room is full of neon colors, a million posters, and LED strip lights. Nino likes EDM, but Wayzz can’t see the appeal and prefers relaxing instrumental music, which bores Nino. They don’t look down on each other for liking different stuff, but it’s hard to live so close together and be so different.
They discover that they both like lo-fi and chillhop music. Nino empties out one of his larger desk drawers and converts it into a personal space for Wayzz, who is independent and values privacy. He decorates it the way Wayzz likes and threads some lantern string lights in there.
Here’s a pound it for reading the whole thing! You deserve it, whew!
