Thoughts on The Marvels
CW for spoilers, though most of this is me going insane about the characters and not the actual plot.
1. I'm not sure I get the plot but I love these women.
2. I love their superhero suits. They look very good in them but also the designs are pretty great on its own.
3. Carol being fine in a professional setting but becoming unsure and nervous when she’s confronted by Monica is such a mood.
4. I've never cared much about him before but I do love Fury and his snarkiness and his dynamic with his "mentees" and most of all his style of motivation.
5. Val and Carol Val and Carol fucking Val and Carol
6. Also Val in a suit (well, i mean... women is suits in general)
7. I love Kamala as a fangirl (I think this is comic compliant, right). I love Kamala in general. She’s a teenager and she acts like a teenager and she's a very proud and loud fangirl, but she's also very competent and confident in what she can do.
8. Carol in a tanktop??? Carol in a tanktop!!! (Carol in a tanktop with the suit hanging around her waist) (But also Carol in a tanktop and those old style shorts)
9. Monica and her outfit on that musical planet >>>
10. Carol's princess dress? I love how it incorporates her symbol (not too crazy about the hair though, I like it much more just loose)
11. "He doesn’t have to sing?" "He's bilingual." Loved that, 10/10
12. I love the Marvels' dynamic. Sometimes they bicker but they all take each other seriously, they take Kamala seriously even thought they don't really know her and she's a kid. They all feel like they’re actually friends and like they actually care about each other. And then they were torn apart. I'm crying. Don’t talk to me.
13. I love Kamala basically Nick Furry-ing it at the end and that she'll apparently be the one to put together the Young Avengers (or New Avengers? You know what I mean)
14. I also love that (if I'm remembering correctly, which to be fair I'm probably not so please correct me, I don't want to be getting excited for nothing) it seems like this new young team is an all women's thing so far.
15. This movie confirmed what I already suspected - I have no problem with strong female characters or movies about them. I do have a problem when it's framed as "this is a movie about a Strong Female Character and you, woman, are going to like it because Feminism. We're doing Feminism." Case and point - Captain Marvel didn’t impress me much and I did find that Endgame final battle's all female scene cringy, but I love The Marvels and I really enjoyed Black Panther 2.
16. GOOSE HAD BABIES!! I don’t understand how they happened but I love every single one of them.
17. Mutants!! The new era MCU doesn't have a very good track record but this movie was great and it makes me hopeful that the Mutants will be introduced well into the universe.
18. Also are my standards really low or was this movie actually funny? I laughed a lot the whole way through!

So in the original 1977 run of What if...?, issue 44 covered the topic of "what if Captain America wasn't discovered in the ice until the 1980s." And the answer is that in the interim, a fascist, segregationist junta comes to power in the USA using the assistance and iconography of William Burnside- the white-supremacist reactionary successor to Captain America who was created by Marvel editorial to retroactively explain Cap's handful of abortive appearances as a red-scare communist hunter in the 1950s, when he was supposed to be in the ice. Most of the superheroes get neutralized, assassinated or co-opted, the real Cap is rescued by the crew of a Navy Sub that's on the verge of defection, and the comic ends on the verge of the second American Civil War. The issue oscillates rapidly between competent, prescient commentary and the exact cornball pablum you'd expect from a bronze-age one-shot trying to suss out the "real meaning of America", but either way I've always been interested in this branch of the Marvel universe getting more than just the one issue of table-time. Superpowered urban civil war in 1980s America is a compelling concept!
One of the reasons I like this comic is that it's one of several works from the late 70s/early 80s - mainline Captain America itself among them- that hit upon the idea that it would be comically easy to sell the American populace on strongman authoritarianism if it came wrapped in a cape and domino mask. This scene is an example of that; "Captain America" at a rally parading his team of all-American jackboots. Two of the members are, to the best of my knowledge, new characters: Golden Girl (later called out as an untrained actress kept on the lineup to illicit a very specific strain of nostalgia for Bettie-Page styled cheesecake) and embodied-specter of racist violence The Hangman (who... might be black, based on this coloring job? Potentially either very smart or very stupid depending on the level of thought put into it). But rounding out the lineup you've got... Hawkeye, which is the beat from this comic that I really like and the reason I decided to write this post.
Because Hawkeye, Clint Barton, has developed over time into the default scrappy underdog hero that gets to be one of the holdouts in dystopian alternate-universe situations like these- Old Man Logan, House of M, Next Avengers, Age of Ultron, What If...? S1ep8, Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, Age of Apocalypse, Marvel Universe Vs. The Avengers, these are just off the top of my head. It's a fun contrast, the dynamic of the "shit, man, this superhero war is fucked" hardscrabble carnie being the last man on the wall against something that would give Superman pause. So they do it a lot. Not here, though! And there's a level of honesty to that that I really appreciate. We're dealing with a guy who became a superhero in the first place because he was annoyed that Iron Man upstaged his carnival act, he almost immediately pivoted and agreed to try and kill Iron Man because an attractive woman asked him to, he tries to steal the armor to sell it, and even when he initially went straight there was an undercurrent of celebrity pursuit and showboating to his decision to join The Avengers. Absent the character development that was a direct result of falling in with the real Steve Rogers, all the assumptions about the character that have formed downstream of that, is it that insane that a guy with his early mercenary characterization would throw in with a fascist regime that paid him well and let him peacock? I don't think so!

young Sebastian Stan…….. is going to be the death of me…. gahsjdjsjbsakns
so i watched Captain America: the First Avenger for the first time today. if you told me-from-a-few-months-ago that i would get randomly attached to the walking american flag marvel character, i would probably laugh and think you’re a liar. frankly, if you even told me from, like, one month ago that i would find Chris Evans attractive I’d think you’re a liar—
but the MCU has so far made me face… many revelations T-T
cue more of me talking about steve n bucky being hot > the actual movie probably:
no but seriously I had like no interest in Captain America before i entered my Bucky obsession thanks to Marvel Rivals and even then I was like “meh, anyways, bucky 🥰” at the thought of Steve Rogers but ???? SOMETHING HAPPENED ??? AND NOW I THINK I REALLY LIKE HIM ??? like first of all just character wise he’s quite cute…. it’s just so interesting to think about suddenly becoming this big muscular attractive guy while you’re still very used to seeing yourself + everyone else seeing/treating you as the opposite? like that’s crazy!!!
also just “idk how to talk to a woman” LMFAO
IDK HE’S CUTE !!! DYNAMIC BETWEEN STEVE N PEGGY IS CUTE
speaking of which….
Tumblr media
she’s so real for that, me too, god daMN—
fun fact: i, legitimately prior to getting into marvel, was seriously questioning if i was attracted to men or not. because i had rarely found guys attractive, never found a celebrity man attractive, never understood celebrity crushes and all that. I ESPECIALLY WAS NOT ATTRACTED TO MUSCULAR MEN/DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE APPEAL.
IDK WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED BUT A SWITCH HAS FLIPPED AND IT’S SO FUNNY TO MEEEE
LIKE/- RDJ WORKING ON HIS SUIT IN A TANK TOP IN IRON MAN? SHIRTLESS CHRIS HEMSWORTH IN THOR..,,, once again THIS:
Tumblr media
christ almighty i got thrown back into the bisexual label so damn hard—
this is not what this post was supposed to be about but this movie made my brain short circuit a little. i was prepared for Sebastian Stan but i was NOT ready to randomly find Chris Evans hot ok
anyway the actual movie was good 😭 im not much of a movie person i just kind of enjoy most things i watch so forgive me for the things i actually feel like typing out being…,,, mildly irrelevant—
Tumblr media
but i want 2 full hours of just steve bucky friendship i did NOT get enough before my man fell off the damn train SPEAKING OF WHICH. DID NOT EXPECT THIS TO MAKE ME SO SAD? which i guess makes sense, actually, knowing what happens, because now i know how they could’ve been..,,,., and things will probably never be the same (i dont know how most of the movies end and i would like to keep it that way lmao)
just…. 1940s Bucky my heart :( i know this movie made me feel things bc i immediately got the drawing bug after, except i’m still really bad at drawing manly men so T-T i also totally got distracted midway watching 2011 Sebastian Stan interviews bc goddddd he’s so prettyyyyy aghrhdhdjsjshsj
anyway this post is a mess and partly me having a straight crisis for, like, the 3rd time this month buT IM REAL EXCITED FOR MY FIRST EVER AVENGERS MOVIE NEXT YIPPEEE
i am currently trying not to think about the winter soldier movie and how close i am to watching that, actually, or i WILL combust thank u very much oh god i could literally feel my chest tighten at the thought— BUT ALSO IT’S CRAZY THAT I’M THIS CLOSE TO IT CAUSE I WAS FROTHING AT THE MOUTH THINKING ABOUT HOW LONG IT’D TAKE TO GET HERE WHEN I STARTED WATCHING ALL THE MOVIES
this is also probably really funny to read if ur a marvel fan cause i’m just here in the year 2025 figuratively gnawing at my desk over a 14 year old movie HSJSJS

Murder On The Dance Floor (part 1)
(from the When the Cat and the Mouse Go For a Midnight Dance series) | Part 1 | Part 2| Marvel Masterlist
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x F!Reader
Prompt: Vigilante!Reader x Agent!Natasha
Summary: Natasha isn’t having the best of luck in trying to bring one of the ex Hydras general down. You however may be able to assist her. Will you two be able to cooperate? Or is it your fate to always stand on opposite teams?
Warnings: None in this chapter.
WORD COUNT: 2510 (give or take)
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello!! So, this is heavily inspired by the song Murder on the Dance Floor (duh). I think it really suits the dynamic between Agent Natasha and Vigilante!Reader, and I thought, okay, let’s actually write it instead of just thinking about it and eventually forgetting. There are a few changes from the canon universe. In this AU, the Avengers didn’t separate after the Sokovia Accords (I’m a child of divorce, okay), so they’re a real family here. Peter is also part of the team and was never forgotten by every single human except, well Hulk (he deserves better). Natasha is alive and well, along with Yelena. And finally (last thing, I promise), this will be part of a mini-series. Maybe with three parts. That’s about it. Enjoy, and thanks for reading! :)
//
It was too late to do this. Natasha rubbed off the tiredness of her eyes for what must be the fifth time in the last fifteen minutes. This was getting ridiculous.
”…What if-“
“For the last Yelena, we are not committing arson.” The blonde grunted at the quick dismissal, sliding down the synthetic, black leather chair. Crossing her arms with a tired pout, she didnt look much to different from the six year old girl Natahsa remembered. The clock in the conference room is getting more obnoxious by the second, as if teasing them to not having an answer yet.
Across the room, the sulked eyes of Benjamin Horvat were looking right back at her. His picture was poorly pinned, hanging unconventionally by a small blade (courtesy of Yelena) on the board. Steve wont be happy when he sees it.
”It would be a small one! It wouldn’t be that hard, just some small fires around some of his clubs, see if there is any luck and make him come out. Quick and subtle.”
”There is nothing subtle in that plan Yelena.” Natahsa turns down again dryly.
It’s been six hours since Yelena payed a visit to the renovated compound, bringing her 5 month old puppy Fanny (which is currently being spoiled by Wanda and Peter). She came in with new dirt onto a possible Hydra ex-officer, one of a depressing long list that the team has yet to tackle down. Most of them ran when SHIELD fell down.
The two of them plus Steve and Bucky, managed to get intel on Benjamin’s Horvat. He was currently involved is some kind of shady precious gem business, along owning some expensive clubs that served as covers for the mafia. At first glance, you’d say that he was just another second class criminal. But that as far as aparences went. Because people like him were worth something, he was heavily guarded.
His intel was precious enough to make him valuable and well-protected. Access to him seemed almost impossible.
The worst part was that he didn’t even bother using conventional transport. Even after combing through all national surveillance, he didn’t appear on any of the cameras. Not even Redwing, Sam’s beloved drone, had managed to get a clear visual of him. It was almost as if he’d gone underground (which he hadn’t—Natasha checked). And despite his love for nightlife, the clubs he owned and frequented were highly exclusive, each with multiple layers of security clearance.
After a long evening, both Steve and Bucky called it a night, but the two sisters were too stubborn to let it go. They were both running out of ideas—or, in Yelena’s case, running through a list of increasingly dangerous, borderline illegal suggestions. Eventually, exhaustion began to take over, and the blonde started dozing off, her head slipping forward as sleep crept up on her. Natasha wasn’t far behind, her eyelids drooping as the hours dragged on.
But then—a sharp, static crackle echoed through the speakers, jolting both women awake. Instinctively, they snapped into defensive stances, eyes darting to the screens around the room as they flickered in a disorienting pattern of black and white, struggling to stabilize.
Finally, the screens gave a clear image, revealing a shadowy figure cloaked in darkness.
“Night, ladies! Glad to see you’re still awake,” a teasing, lilting voice echoed through the speakers. “Huh, take out from Luigi’s huh? Their pizza rolls are to die for.”
Natasha’s eyes widened, a flicker of recognition sparking across her face. Her posture shifted, shoulders squaring as an unconscious surge of energy overtook her weariness. It can’t be.
“I’d prefer pizza bites. Who are you?” Yelena asked, mirroring Natasha as she stood up. She’d clearly sensed the change in Natasha’s demeanor.
The redhead grabbed the tablet on the table next to her, attempting to trace the breach, but the system was completely overridden. Whoever this was shouldn’t have been able to slip past their security. She called for FRIDAY, but the AI didn’t respond.
“Aw, come on, not even a hello? Do you know how long I spent trying to surpass that stupid robot of yours?” the voice continued playfully. “It’s been a while, Natty. I thought you’d be glad to see me—or, well, hear me.”
Natasha’s face remained painfully stoic, but her white-knuckled grip on the tablet betrayed her turmoil. She knew this person loved theatrics, but even for them, this was going too far. “How many times have I told you not to call me that.” Natasha grunts in annoyance, a headache already starting to set in. There is a brief silence. She can practically see your pout from here.
“Geez, so grumpy.”
Yelena watches the exchange with curiosity, somehow not detecting a real threat. “I sense some... history here.”
“There is!”
“There is not!”
Both women snapped at Yelena, making her eyes widen as she instinctively stepped back, lifting her hands in mock surrender. “Ha, when you say that, it usually means there is…” she stated, amused. But the sentence died under Natasha’s withering stare. “Alright, just an observation. Geez, you are grumpy.” she muttered under her breath. Catching Natasha’s warning look, Yelena slid back into the chair, still grinning despite herself.
“Can we focus?” Natasha said, voice clipped.
Yelena just shrugged, casting a glance between the two of you.
“Oh, come on, don’t get shy on me, Agent Romanoff. Is it because we haven’t had our little “I run, you go after me” sessions recently?” You teased. “I promise, you’re the only one I let chase after me.”
It’s true that its been a while since you have gone under the radar. Even if you weren’t out committing your little revendouz vigilantes acts, Natasha still couldn’t help to keep an eye out for you. It wouldn’t be the first time that you took a mini sabbatical and returned with more messes for her to clean up.
Finally, from the shadows, a woman stepped a young woman, posture relaxed, radiating an air of practiced confidence. You wore your typical casual clothes, a fitted jacket and a crop under it. Your face was partially obscured by the lighting, but Natasha could see a few loose strands of hair escaping, catching faintly in the room’s dim light. Chest rising up and down rather fastly. It’s like you just returned from somewhere.
Your eyes, bright yet focused, lingered on Natasha with an amused glint. The faintest smirk played at the corner of your mouth, an expression that made Natasha feel strangely restless. There was something in that permanent look of yours that always kept her on edge.
“Who are you?” Yelena blurted out.
You gasped dramatically, resting a hand on your chest as if genuinely wounded. “Why, you hurt me, Agent! Didn’t you tell her anything about me? And here I was, starting to think that I meant something to you.”
Natasha sighed in exasperation, her gaze still scanning for any sign of how you managed to break in. But it was as if you’d been authorized from the inside. She knew you were good, hidden behind that playful demeanor, but it was exhausting how you always seemed one step ahead. “There’s nothing to tell,” Natasha replied curtly, “besides the fact that you’re a pain.”
You huffed in false offender , crossing your arms. “Archenemies would have sufficed. Besides, that is no way to greet someone who can help you with Horvat.”
Both of them froze at the name. Giving up, the redhead throws the device on the table, getting slightly closer to the TV and crossing her arms. If this was going where she thought it was, caution was very much need. Especially with you.
“A little…birdie, told me that we have, for once, a common enemy. Excluding each other of course.” You smiled at the last sentence, but your eyes were bright with a dangerous spark.
“He’s not as unreachable as you may think. I guess that by now you have figured that he frequents the nightclubs in the Lower East Side. He is supposed to assist to an event tomorrow at night. Just our luck, right?”
Natasha’s brows furrowed. “Our? What, exactly, do you want with Horvat? Did he make it onto your little blacklist?” She scowled, still irritated by the last man you’d managed to eliminate right under her nose.
As if reading her thoughts, you let out a light, teasing laugh. “Ah, well, I wouldn’t exactly call it little,” you said, an amused glint in your eye.
Natasha huffed under her breath, visibly displeased with your evasiveness. “What’s in it for you?”
Your smile faded just slightly, and for a moment, a flicker of real purpose showed through the facade. “Let’s just say he has something I need. Something personal.”
Natasha’s eyes narrowed, her suspicion unwavering. “And how in the world would you ever entertain the thought of me agreeing to work together?”
“Because you’re stuck,” you shot back, your voice sharper than usual. “Let’s be real, Romanoff—if I could do this alone, I wouldn’t be here. But not even you can’t get to him on your own. And…neither can I.” You admitted through your teeth. The playful glint softened, replaced by an intensity Natasha hadn’t quite seen from you before.
“I need someone who won’t mess it up if I’m going to get to him,” you continued, the amused mask slipping just a bit more. “That’s where you come in. I mean, who better to handle some undercover work than the Black Widow herself?” The slight provocation didn’t go unnoticed, but Natasha’s mind was already racing with possibilities.
The room fell into silence, the ticking clock on the wall seeming louder than ever as Natasha’s eyes bore into yours, as if trying to see every hidden motive. Perhaps she should just go fetch Wanda. Still, she held herself steady, determined to avoid letting any trace of intrigue slip. It only took a spark for you to create a fire.
Yelena, sensing the tension between the two of you growing sharper by the second, finally cut in, a note of exasperation in her voice. “So… how could you get us in—”
“Yelena, no.” Natasha cut her off sharply, her posture rigid and unyielding. “We are not entertaining this. And I’m certainly not working with her,” she added, the cold in her tone unmistakable. She turned her gaze back to you, her expression filled with deep distrust. “She does nothing but trick and deceive, and I’m not about to let her pull us into a mess.”
You held her gaze steadily, a flicker of hurt passing through your eyes—brief enough for Natasha to notice. She shook her head sturborling, she couldn’t afford to feel any remorse for you. But as quickly as the emotion came, it vanished, and you rolled your eyes playfully. That was something that sparked Natasha’s curiosity. Just like herself in the past (maybe still now at times) it seemed as if you had a mask. She didn’t know exactly how genuine that unserious facade, the one you always seemed to hide behind, truly was.
“So distrustful and uptight as always, I see. Tell me, has she always been this way?” you asked, looking at the blonde. Yelena shrugged, starting to answer but clamping her mouth shut as Natasha arched an eyebrow in warning.
“Look, I’m not thrilled about this either. But it’s the only way. Believe me, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think so,” you said, your tone uncharacteristically steady. “I’ll even compromise and act like one of your ‘goody-two-shoes’ heroes.” You almost gagged on the words. “Swear I’ll play by your rules, as long as it gets us to him. If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I don’t lie. Have I ever lied to you, Natasha?”
There was no mockery in your voice this time, just an unexpected sincerity. Natasha paused, caught off guard. Had you deceived her? Absolutely. Tricked her? Too many times to count, wounding her pride each time. But lied, outright and blankly, right to her face? As shocking as it was, she couldn’t recall a single instance. No matter the game, you’d always been blunt about what you were going to do.
Yelena, noticing Natasha’s hesitation, leaned in. “сестра (sister), maybe… maybe she has a point. We’re no closer to him on our own. And if she can get us in…”
Natasha looked at her, seeing the reason in her words, though every fiber of her instinct fought against trusting you. After a long pause, she rubbed her temples, exhaling heavily. As sad as it was, there wasn’t any better option. But to admit that she had no other option than to work with you, of all people, was burning her pride.
“Fine.”
Yelena gave a small fist pump of victory, relief lighting her face after the hours they’d spent trying to come up with a solid plan. Meanwhile, you grinned, satisfaction gleaming in your eyes.
“But—” Natasha cut in, fixing you with a hard look. “No tricks, no double-crossing. As you said before, do this by my rules, is that clear?”
You raised an eyebrow, a glimmer of your usual defiance flashing in your expression. “Well, I mean… it is my plan so technically—”
“My. Rules.” Natasha repeated, her voice dropping to a dangerously low tone that left little room for argument. Her stare bore into you, unyielding, and the confidence in your face faltered just a bit. “Understood?”
You swallowed, any spark of rebellion snuffed out under the intimidating weight of her gaze. “Understood,” you muttered, a hint of surprising, begrudging compliance in your tone.
“Oooh, scary mean glare,” Yelena muttered under her breath, clearly entertained as she watched you two bickering. A mischievous glint in her eye, she leaned back, curious to see how will play out between you two. Perhaps she should pay visits more often.
“Enlighten us, then. What in the world does this great plan, legal plan of yours involve?” Natasha inquires dryly. Another cheeky grin on your face was enough for her to know that she won't like it in the slightest. It was almost sinister, how much you enjoyed to push her bottons.
”Well…that answer can vary. How are your dance moves, Agent Romanoff?
Clearly baffled, she didnt have time to answer when someone blasted through the door, startling all three of you. “You! Are you the one you hacked FRIDAY?” demanded a frantic Tony Stark, dressed in Iron Man-themed pajamas, bags under his eyes and a steaming coffee pot in hand labeled “#1 Best Hero” (a gift from Peter). Honestly, Natahsa is a firm believer that he bought it himself but whatever.
You giggled almost manically. “Oops, that’s my cue! Talk to you later to get into details, Agent.” You practically purred, teasingly waving goodbye before cutting the connection in one swift motion. Natasha was met with her reflection on the now dark screen, your last words hanging heavily on the air.
Natasha drops on the chair heavily, grunting and rubbing her temples while looking at the roof in despair. How does she always end up in these situations?

Debated making this, but oh well, here we are…
I rewatched the Loki series.
Going to add here quickly that I have been a fan of Loki since 2012/2013, and I personally relate to his character for a multitude of reasons.
Now, I enjoy the series, but I wish they made it more character focused than they had. I do feel like they prioritised story in terms of making it fit the next phase over exploring and expanding on Loki’s character to some degree (a lot of it was surface level).
For example, I would’ve loved to have seen:
Exploring Loki’s Jotun heritage, even if it was a variant of him in the void that embraced it, dropped his aesir form, a conversation between Loki and his Jotun variant as they explain why they chose to embrace it, giving a different view to maybe how our Loki sees himself/the Jotuns. If ‘What If’ could have a frost giant Loki variant, why couldn’t the show?
Expanding upon what happened to Loki during that year after his fall from the Bifrost. The reason for this is self explanatory really, it would add more lore/depth to his experiences/actions during the Avengers. Maybe address the trauma he has from it.
Loki fighting with his so-called ‘desire’ for a throne more. By this I mean, I felt he flipped pretty quickly from his plan to overthrow the time keepers to just following along with Sylvie - which is fine, but I kinda thought there would be more push back from him. I get it was a life or death situation and Loki’s whole thing is ‘survival’, but it would’ve added to their dynamic and the fact the writers clearly wanted to push how Sylvie was different to other Loki’s.
Exploring Sylvie’s backstory more. It really did feel like it was an afterthought, which is a shame. I suppose they left it ambiguous for certain reasons, but I think they should’ve had more flashback scenes of what Sylvie could remember. I think it would’ve helped people understand and relate to her more. (I do love her though).
Actually showed Loki’s gender fluidity & shapeshifting ability more. Again, self explanatory really & important to his character, plus the whole implied only ‘woman variant’ thing with Sylvie should’ve not been a thing, like at all.
They should’ve given Loki more time to process everything. This show really should’ve had 8 episodes each season, I get that’s not the writers fault, likely Disney/marvel’s doing. Perhaps then the shift in his character wouldn’t have felt so jarring, especially considering he’s 2012 Loki. I do agree they wrote him as if he was Ragnarok!Loki, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it just felt jarring considering the last we saw of this Loki was Avengers. But then I could also argue that maybe he thought ‘what’s the point of it’ because the TVA know everything about him, but I digress.
Used Sylvie more in S2. It did feel like they didn’t quite know what to do with her, her and Loki clearly just needed to sit and discuss the citadel fight, but the closest thing we got is in EP3 where Sylvie says ‘this is all rather familiar, isn’t it?’, referencing their different/opposing opinions on the TVA/He Who Remains. And also maybe the pie room scene, but it’s very vague/not directly addressed.
Explored the fact that Mobius is not a good guy more. Because, he isn’t. And that’s okay. To me, the whole point of the show is based on Loki’s quote of ‘no one good is ever truly good, and no one bad is ever truly bad’, and whilst they do reference Mobius’ own morally grey actions/traits, they don’t particularly make it clear and most just see him as this ‘happy go lucky old man who likes pie and loves Loki variants’. In fact, I actually really liked the scene where Sylvie confronts him - which is a very unpopular opinion to have it seems, lol.
Delved into the psychology of Loki further than surface level/what we already know about him. Yes, we know he’s the God of Mischief. Yes, we know he isn’t evil. Yes, we know he is redeemable. Yes, we know he’s cunning, manipulative and selfish. We get that he projects this ‘illusion’ of himself, but it was only really mentioned in S1 EP1, maybe slightly EP2, before it’s never really mentioned again. I suppose S2 does this to a degree with the bar scene and EP5 of S1 in the time cell with Sif - also I think they tried to take the narcissist angle from the pov that it’s because of his low self-esteem as to why he needs validation and it’s a defence mechanism, but they didn’t particularly make that clear and made it seem like he just thinks highly of himself.
I know it seems like I have a lot of issues with the show, and I do, but I still enjoyed it. It’s okay to be critical of a piece of media and still enjoy it.
I do prefer S2 to S1, mostly because I prefer the direction they took it in and whilst I, of course, wanted better for Loki, I can’t deny S2 EP6 is a stunning finale. I sobbed so hard during the ending and still feel the grief that I actually lost someone I knew personally. But I also have hope that this means Loki is now a main player in the next phase (am I delusional? Maybe).
I enjoyed the dynamics, the back and forth/chemistry, the story was interesting, the set & costume design, the acting, the directing/colour grading, the music (Natalie Holt, you are genius), the emotions, the fun, the characters…
So this is not a hate post by any means, I will once again state, I enjoyed the show. But, I do have issues with it, and that’s okay too.
Please, dni if you’re just going to be argumentative or confrontational. I also don’t want to hear that just because I enjoyed the show that I’m ‘not a real fan’ lmao. I’m sorry, but I’ve been a Loki stan for over a decade, and I will not have someone tell me I’m not a real fan because of a piece of fictional media. Also, please do not mention anything regarding ships on this post, I do not care for it because it always ends up in arguments and I am a multishipper so I don’t tend to fight for any side. Thank you! :) /gen

Twisted Wonderland x Avengers AU
A/N: I know some of the heroes below are not part of the Avengers, but they are the marvel heroes that fitted the characters best. Below, an extended version of a thought I had while watching the avengers (while having twisted wonderland brain rot, mind you). Hope you enjoy!
Warning: Lazy language, I wrote it down in a rush. I might make a more thought-out version later on, while rewatching the movies.
What if… Housewardens were superheroes and the other dorm members were their teammates? And like the avengers are the mission where all housewardens work together to save the world from the worst.
Heartslabyul — Captain America. No explanation needed- I mean, Riddle obsession with following rules do fit captain america moral code that he follows through and through. But ig it’ll be Captain Roseheart? Captain Rose? Captain Britain? Lol idk but Riddle totally is the more serious/leader like of all the housewardens, I feel. I am not quite sure for the others, Trey as Bucky? Childhood friends separated by unfortunate reasons whose paths recross after years. I like the idea! Ace & Deuce as the new generation of heroes Riddle has to train? Ideas, ideas.
Savanaclaw — Obviously Leona would be a very lazy black panther. But in a world where Leona still has a little ambition, he decided to protect the land from outsiders by becoming “black lion” and saving the citizens. Like please I’m in love with black lion Leona. In the end of the first movie we see like black panther talking to an audience about opening wakanda land and I see like this could be Farena??
Octavinelle — Let’s be fr, Aquaman = Octoman. Don’t ask where I get that from. But yeah, I think Aquaman is the only ocean-hero in marvel, so ofc we’ll have to make it fit. I watched the movie so long ago so I don’t have many memories but yea. The story would be like he was a wealthy seamen who decided to go on earth to do business, but it was hard to adapt to land even with his two eels friends. While he is on earth, his home is getting attacked by aliens/idk and when he comes back he discovers near everything is destroyed. Those guys were looking for the legendary trident who disappeared. Azul finds it: he decides to save his people. Why? BENEFIT, YOU FOOLS! Royalty will be forever in debt to him, citizens will throw themself in the deals of the one who saved them!
Scarabia — Kalim is very spiderman coded. It’ll give an interesting dynamic with Iron man (idia) since we have the overly excited sunshine x mentor introvert. He’d be the crazy rich kid with a hero complex using his money for good, and Jamil would be the poor servant pulled in Kalim’s chaos. Like they both get bitten because idk, Kalim thought it’d be fun to take a closer look (spider), Jamil being scared of bugs dissuading him and… Pouf! Kalim yelps in surprise when he gets bitten, Jamil as the good servant he was trained to be runs to him, only for the spider to feel anxious and bite Jamil too. Abracadabra, two spidermen! May Jamil blood pressure rest in peace.
Pomefiore — Black widow and the dude that shoots arrow?! ITS SO PERFECT! Plus I absolutely love black widow, she’s an icon. She’s sexy and badass, need more to talk about Vil? And she’s friend with hawk (i think??) the dude who shoots arrow, so like, Rook?? But rooks a hunter, so maybe Huntman? As a superhero name idk. Their dynamic would be so dope. And when black widow is like iron man “assistant” it’ll give mad interactions too?? When she beats the guy down in the ring when he says “rule number 1, don’t look away from the enemy–” BAM. Vil when he flipped Floyd over, same vibe.
Ignyhide — No need to spin the wheel, Idia IS Iron-man! Like, please be fr??? Genius and rich family working on high-tech? Isn’t that the Shroud description? Like Ortho would be Shervice (no idea how to write it but like the assistant Tony created that became Ultron afterwards).
I feel like the moment in the game where Idia says “I’m the Boss” does fit the character of Tony a bit, and like… Idia created the armor for “fun” but ended up discovering a new way to use gamma rays/scientist shit and yeah.
Diasomnia — MALLEUS IS THOR ! Like. The way of talking. The foreign chosen one who is lost on earth. Long hair. Incredible strength. Thunder. Heir to the throne. It’s yelling Malleus. Also, SIlver and Sebek can be those friends that helped him escape Asgard with (Loki) to fight the black elves. It fits so weeeeeell. And weirdly Lilia does give a Loki a vibe, but meeeeh. Not sure yet. Anyway, I love the idea of malleus being Thor (and the human he falls for is Yuu, or Idia. Who knows.)

can't stop thinking about Rings of Power and I have Opinions. They gave Galadriel the Captain Marvel treatment. why? yeah she's the most badass female character the general audience will recognize by name alone, but she's not badass because she's a petite warrior woman. she's badass because she's incredibly wise and magically powerful and trained under the Tolkien equivalent of either an angel or demigod or a minor goddess (depending on how we interpret Melian).
If they absolutely had to make their female character a combat badass who is hotheaded, angry, and revenge driven. In the same setting as young Elrond, Gil-galad, and Celebrimbor. And they couldn't change the major plot points of what we've seen so far. I think they'd have been better off using Celebrian. (It also solves the problem of me screaming at the screen about where that Celeborn is.) Hear me out: yeah, Tolkien probably wouldn't have ever thought of her as a warrior, but technically he never said she wasn't. There isn't really enough information about her to contradict existing canon, especially in the setting they picked.
They could still name drop Galadriel; contrasting Celebrian with her mother at every turn. Give us the conflict of Celebrian trying to get out from under her mother's shadow and being compared to her and how Galadriel would handle everything. Maybe the problem stems from the fact that they are reacting oppositely to grief and Celebrian cannot understand her mother's seeming lack of reaction and Galadriel thinks her daughter is reacting as a hot-headed youth. Maybe Celebrian doesn't take her mother's foresight and visions seriously (because you're mother saying she's 'seen the road you're taking and it is a dark one with many challenges' or something definitely is something a daughter would be pissed to hear, no matter how wise your mother is) and Galadriel is trying to give her daughter space. I don't know, i've never emotionally communicated a serious issue in my life. that's what writers are for.
Those of us familiar with the lore would get the treat of watching her interact with Elrond for the foundation of what we know will become their love story. (it doesn't need to be shown at all, cause elrond loved her in secret for literal decades if not centuries, so they can still try to BS us with fake-out relationships.) Those not familiar get to see the contrast of Celebrian, daughter of the wisest most powerful elven lady in existence, on a revenge quest for the death of her beloved uncle (if they still had to use Galadriel's brother's death for backstory purposes) versus a brilliant young healer Elrond half-elven, survivor of what is functionally mass murder and having lost pretty much everyone he cares about (multiple times). They probably approach loss and death and grief very differently and it could create great character moments and conversations.
the fact that the show hasn't really done anything with elrond eventually becoming the best healer on middle earth is also disappointing. if they'd made celebrian their protagonist, and focused on elrond as a healer it would have also provided an interesting flip of the more typical man-warrior/woman-healer setup.
Also, if we go the route of Celebrian having spent years as a terrifying avenging warrior, scourge of the Enemy, it creates a new sort of dynamic to what happens to her in the future. Her capture and torment at the hands of orcs in the future isn't a woman getting fridged (possibly as revenge against her family members) to give her sons motivation to become terrifying warriors, and add another entry to the long list of reasons her husband is sad. It's a legendary and terrifying warrior in her own right getting overpowered, tormented, and instead of succumbing to her injuries, choosing to seek healing and trusting her husband to take care of the kids and follow when they were ready. If handled well (not that I think the show would actually cover that time gap and event), it could be done in Tolkien's 'war is horrible and love drives us' themes.

FIC REC WEEK 45 – FAKE RELATIONSHIP
AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: 27dragons
27dragons writes some of my favorite Winteriron dynamics, period. Both Bucky's and Tony's voices are perfect, and they're such dorks in love that it makes my heart melt every time. Since I especially love their fake relationship fics, I decided to rec them here, but honestly, you should just check out their entire AO3 catalogue, everything on there is fantastic.
Here's some of their work that I think you should check out:
Freedom in These Bonds
Pairing: Bucky/Tony Rating: E Words: 18,314 Tags: A/B/O, Arranged Marriage, Howard Stark's A+ Parenting
Summary: Tony’s been accepted to M.I.T., which only admits a small percentage of omegas each year. He can’t wait to get there, to stretch his intellect and broaden his horizons. There’s only one small wrinkle: omega students have to be married.
Reasons why I love it: Aaaah, this one is so good! Bucky is such a green flag all around, and I was constantly awwwing throughout the whole bonding ceremony and everything that comes after. Plus, the smut is hot as hell. This fic is amazing, and you should definitely read it!
Brideprice
Pairing: Bucky/Tony Rating: E Words: 31,974 Tags: Post-Apocalyptic, Arranged Marriage, Canon-typical Violence
Summary: An event known only as the Sundering destroyed civilization as it had been known. Now, several hundred years later, humans have banded together in tribes that war over resources and scramble for ways to deal with the occasionally-deadly mutations that the Sundering left in its wake. The Avengers thought they would be the next victims of the Hydra tribe’s steady expansion and subjugation, but instead, Hydra approached them with an offer of alliance, including a bride for Tony, the Avengers’ second-in-command, to symbolize the union of the two tribes. But neither Tony’s bride nor the alliance turn out to be what the Avengers were hoping for.
Reasons why I love it: Aside from the fake marriage – which is superb in and of itself – I really love the worldbuilding in this one. All of the lore surrounding the Sundering is super intriguing, and the way that 27dragons plays with Marvel canon here is so much fun. It's really well-paced, and the characterizations are on point. I love this one, and I really hope you check it out for yourself!
Don't Be a Disaster (Be Mine)
Pairing: Bucky/Tony Rating: T Words: 5,318 Tags: No Powers AU, Coming Out, Getting Together
Summary: Unexpectedly, Tony is alone for the holidays. He hates being alone, but surely his genius brain will come up with something. Bucky can deal with the stress of having lost his arm, or the stress of remaining in the closet with his family, but not both. And only one of those things is in his control. But coming out to them when he doesn't even have a boyfriend is nervewracking, to say the least. A chance meeting on the subway may solve both of their problems... and give them both a gift they weren't even looking for.
Reasons why I love it: Christmas with the Barnes' sounds so cozy! I love Tony's characterization here, Bucky absolutely stood no chance against his charms. And the way they meet is hilarious, I enjoyed every second of it. This fic is wonderful, and you should definitely read it!
Can't Talk (Like Real Adults)
Pairing: Bucky/Tony Rating: E Words: 30,264 Tags: Marriage Pact, No Powers AU, Idiots in Love
Summary: Bucky and Steve made a pact when they were young, that if they were both still single when they were thirty, they’d marry each other. Bucky could think of a lot of worse things than being married to his best friend. They already live together, the tax benefits would be pretty awesome, and he could stop worrying about growing old alone. That is, until he met Tony Stark. Yes, that Tony Stark. Rich, gorgeous, smart, fun, great in bed, and... actually interested in Bucky? Tony didn’t really do dating. It was too depressing to waste his time with borderline stalkers, fortune hunters, people just crossing off their bucket lists, and worse. He’d pretty much resigned himself to a lifetime of one-night stands. And then he met Bucky. Hot, nerdy, relaxed, and utterly nonchalant about the whole “Tony Stark” package in an extremely appealing way. There was just one problem: Bucky was engaged to someone else.
Reasons why I love it: Oh my god, this fic gave me everything I could ever want in a fic. They're both such fucking dumbasses – Bucky more so than Tony, but still – and I love every second of the drama. Also, the intimate scenes are just incredible, 27dragons and tisfan write these two idiots so well. Definitely check this one out, I bet you'll love it just as much as I do!
If Only in My Dreams
Pairing: Bucky/Tony Rating: E Words: 16,954 Tags: A/B/O, Mutual Pining, Christmas
Summary: Despite presenting late, Tony's father never had any doubt that Tony would follow in his footsteps and be an Alpha. So it is with more than mild dismay that Tony finally presents shortly before exams... as an Omega. Now he's got to go home for the holidays to fend off his parents' outdated notions, including his father's attempts to arrange a Bond for him. Bucky's had a crush on Tony since they first met, more than a year ago, but he keeps finding excuses not to express his interest. When Tony admits that he's looking for an Alpha to bring home to pretend to be courting him, Bucky volunteers before he can really think about what he's doing. But it's only for a few days. Everything will be fine.
Reasons why I love it: Oh man, I really feel Bucky in this one. If I saw anyone living in the kind of family dynamic Tony is living here, I'd want to take them far away too. Thank god for Ana and Jarvis! I love how Tony's relationship with Howard especially is explored here, and Bucky's reaction to everything is fantastic. Plus, the Winteriron Christmas fluff is so sweet, it makes up for all of the family angst. I love this one, and I bet you will too, so I hope you give it a shot!

[ NOTE: This Blog Contains Spoilers For Multiverse Of Madness ]
Tumblr media
`` ARE YOU HAPPY, STEPHEN? ``
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Testing.. Testing...
Alright, greetings interweb. As you all probably already know, my name is Stephen Strange. (Dr. Strange to all of you, Stephen's just for buds.) I've saved the world countless times, traveled the Multiverse, and have neutralized the all-powerful Scarlet Witch .. not to say I'm bragging, but those are braggable feats. You'd think I'd be free to do as I pleased, however, winning is such a fickle and complicated bag of worms, one that doesn't come without consequences. The Scarlet Witch destroyed the Darkhold across every dimension, but the essence is.. sticky. I did what I had to to defeat someone who threatened the Multiverse, should I have not used the wretched book to do so? Probably. Am I willing to admit that to the ones I'm closest to? ..Not so much. The power of Darkhold is safe, believe me. There would be no one better to keep this gif-curse with.
With that out of the way, I'll be using this odd forum as a journal of sorts, hard to keep track of my thoughts these days. If you stumble upon this blog, use my words as newfound knowledge, but tread lightly.

Mod Notes
Sup! Welcome to yet another pathetic man's blog. I'm Randy, I use he/him pronouns, I'm twenty, and I'm So Normal about Marvel. So So Normal.
RP Info
I've been hooked on the idea of Strange slowly turning evil for quite some time now, but now seems like a great time to bring out the ol' warlock. Completely open to plots, character dynamics, random asks, and rp memes! Crossovers as well as (over 18) ocs may interact, of course :3c. As the man told y'all, Steven has been 'infected' by the Darkhold, since he was the last to technically use it before it was destroyed. You'll see his morals start to spiral downwards, and a villain begin to appear.. I'm so excited guys.
DNI
This blog will contain alcohol, substances, unbased opinions, and nsfw material*, so minors begone! Bigots, proshippers, and other such weirdos are not welcome either, hate will be taunted and giggled at! Drama-makers can look elsewhere, I want none of that!
*NSFW will be put underneath a cut with the tag #[ nsfwrp ]

Universes
Untagged - Main Universe; His descent is slow but adamant, journeying to acquaintances to tame his rotting being. He's pleasant to be around, for the most part- as time goes on, this might not be the case.
[ vrs; the time anomaly ] - Made with @/starredshield; Stephen accidentally transported Steve Rogers out of the 40's a year before the events of Infinity War, staring out at eachother's throats, but growing softer as Strange realizes he has deeper feelings. Having to let him go, he goes back to normal life- going through the Darkhold events before finally reconnecting with Rogers in a much worse headspace. [ !! DARKER THEMES WARNING !! ]
A Holder Of Ancient Magic
Name: Stephen Strange
Age: Currently Forty-Six
Gender & Pronouns: Cisman, He/Him
Sexuality: Strange is far too busy with the possible incursion he caused to be worried about labels. (Evil Bisexual </3)
Home Universe: 616 Adjacent (If your character died during End Game, no they didn't /hj)
Relationships: Stephen has a couple of close friendships, one being Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme. He hadn't been the most open about his new-found powers after the events with the Scarlet Witch. He's cut contact with Christine entirely, far too upset about how their relationship ended, how happy she seems with someone else. Him and the Avengers are on good terms, though he tends to keep quiet about the Darkhold.
Current Appearance: Strange looks a bit more disheveled than he did in Multiverse Of Madness, eyes sunken as if he'd been spending far too much time in the Sanctum's library. Occasionally, there seems to be an odd slit in the center of the Doctor's forehead- mentioning will make the line disappear. He looks more akin to Sinister Strange at this point.

What are your thoughts on the Pietro and Monet pairing? Admitted we haven't gotten loads of them but it feels like there is a lot of potential there especially in how despite coming from opposite ends of the wealth brackets they are both extremely loving people, protective of their sisters and families but ones that refuse to forgive their abusers and developed more acerbic personalities as a defence for what they've ensured.
Is there anything you would like to see explored with them?
i have to be honest: i haven't moved on from emily/pietro yet and i doubt i will, but ignoring that, i feel like pietro and monet dating was a GREAT idea. just like you said, they have many things in common but different life experiences, which opens doors for a really interesting dynamic.
now, when it comes to plans for the future i think they are absolutely perfect, but considering what we have at the moment i fear that getting attached to them would be a terrible idea 😭 marvel doesn't act like they really plan to do anything with them other than add a few jokes and nice moments here and there, and tbh that's really frustrating. they could have such a nice development, like both of their past relationships, but instead of that we are getting veeeery small crumbs.
about things to get explored: it can sound a bit silly but i think a run with them as leads learning how to get used to each other's habits and having to fight each other's battles/problems would be really funny. like having monet dealing with pavane(avengers v1 #377) or a character similar to him and teasing pietro about the fact his enemies are either children or just random people 😭 or having pietro dealing with victor without knowing about his relationship with monet and being flabbergasted when finding out about it. long answer made short: i think they could have MANY funnny, complex and interesting stories together and they really need more chance to be developed.
(i have to confess that i was kind of confused about their relationship status? are they dating or just hooking up? 😥 I hope they are dating...)

Tel us more about your future posts!!!
Didn't expect someone would be so curious about it lool. But sure!
FBI & Military META: I’ll probably publish it soon once I have a bit more time. It’s shaping up to be the shortest meta I’ve written so far since we almost don't know anything about these years of Barney's life.
The massive META on why I believe Barney was brainwashed during his Trickshot era: If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember I mentioned about this idea years ago few times, but I never really dove deep into it. I already have half of the post written, but I want to finish the FBI one first so things don’t get too chaotic. This one’s probably going to be really long—maybe even split into two parts 😭
Why he left the Dark Avengers and what the hell he was doing before reaching out to Clint: This gonna be my favorite, even though I’ll have to dig into material from Dark Avengers (2012)—which I absolutely hate. But trust me, it’s going to be juicy.
Clint’s perspective on Barney: This one’s going to be a full deep-dive analysis into how Clint sees his brother—his thoughts, his emotional ties, the whole dynamic. It’s probably going to be pretty long too. I’ll explore how Clint places Barney on a pedestal sometimes, how that’s tangled up with parentification and daddy issues.
Barney and Simone: This post will focus on Barney’s life post-Trickshot and his relationship with Simone and her kids. I’ll dive into how he treats them and what that reveals about his growth, his regrets, and the kind of person he’s trying to become.
I also have a ton of headcanons about Barney and his connections with other characters, but I’m not sure if anyone would be interested in them. They’re mostly sitting in my drafts for now.
Once I finish my Barney Barton Saga, I’ll shift focus to answering asks about him, and I’d love to dive into other niche Marvel characters—though I’m still deciding which ones. I have a few ideas in mind, but nothing's set yet. One thing I’m definitely interested in exploring is Clint’s kids from alternate universes, but we'll see where it goes lmaoooo.
Thx for ask!!! 🩵💙

My (slightly unhinged) review of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver #2
4.5/5 stars 🤩 - potential spoilers below the cut
Tumblr media
Loved this issue and really wish this series would be longer, the twins are at their best together! It's also resolved a lot of doubts I had from the first issue. I liked this more than the previous issue. It got the balance between the twins right. Showed some really cool uses of Pietro's powers and let him be powerful in his own right. Orlando immediately puts limits on those abilities but that's what writers should do with their characters and this is the most creative a writer has gotten with Pietros powers in a long time so props to Orlando for that.
Loved that protective big sis Wanda is back. The minute she hears the Wizard mention her brother she goes Cthon. There was an interesting emphasis on the twins hands in the first few pages of the issues.
And ofc our boy Tommy is back and he is glorious!!! Love that we have confirmation Pietro and Tommy regularly spend time together.
Thank god Vision was only there for three panels - I hate hate hate him being shoved into Wandas stories. They've been divorced 40 years marvel stop trying to make things happen cause of the MCU 😂 Though going back to your toxic ex when you've lost everything - kind of sadly relatable lol. I know there will be more of him in the next issue but I hope it's not loads more as I'm honestly more interested in Pietro and Tommy which are bound to be the more fun and interesting dynamic.
I do wonder if the Vision is there to reveal what he learned about the twins in the uncanny avengers counter evolutionary arc back in 2015. Hopefully he reveals it and leaves! Id rather see Luna or Monet back.
I am so curious about the idea of Wanda being the power and Pietro the catalyst (Does it have implications for Billy and Tommy?). This idea does center Wanda in a way and treats Pietro as supplemental but I don't dislike it I feel it matches the twins existing lore. I think were gonna see a combined twin power perhaps, otherwise why would the Giver refer to both of them - they specifically say the "twins can affect all realities and break them" and "the twins cannot be allowed to effect space time" and thats significant. looking back Pietro has nearly always been a catalyst for Wandas biggest shows of power - HoM in particular stands out. I alway thought about him promising to help her create the new reality and wondered how he did that. Very excited for this series - hopefully Pietro becomes a regular in the new SW solo because Wanda's stories are for the better with her brother!

11, 15, 18! ^_^
how would you describe thor and loki’s dynamic to someone who has never seen the movies?
Narratively co-dependent sibling rivalry that makes Cain and Abel's rivalry pale in comparison. They also say "BROTHA" a lot.
Thor's basically Mufasa/He-Man/SkekUng, and Loki's basically Scar/Skeletor/SkekSil.
do you have a favorite loki fanfic? (if you’re a fic writer, you’re allowed to choose your own)
Always a difficult question (and I tend to try to avoid known squicks from whoever's asking). And lol, I went to see replies to comments on my inbox.
Let's see.
I think you'd enjoy this Loki and Hela team-up oneshot.
This one has a happy ending but it's quite angsty on Loki's part (and it doesn't get to bad points; but it could have).
There's this fic, though not my favorite, I found very enjoyable for xenobiology reasons and because the author made Loki act mean and bitchy as a patient, which is accurate. Rather than the little waif he's made out to be in other Loki recovery fics. The alien biology is very detailed and well thought of. If you like speculative xenobiology, you'll enjoy this.
I love Lise's fics. I'm that freak that loves vivisection stuff, so I especially enjoy "The Vivisection Tango." I love shit where one character wants to vivisect the other.
There's a VERY fucked up Doomki fic based on Latverian Prometheus that haunts me, but it is not for the faint of heart, so I'm not posting it xD I feel weird saying I think about it often.
On a softer Valki note, I enjoyed this fic:
what do you think loki’s biggest fear is? (if not *the* biggest, one of the biggest.)
Losing those he loves (e.g. Thor, Frigga) is a far greater fear for Loki than dying, being alone, or abandoned. He couldn't bear to lose Thor, and so handed the Tesseract to Thanos and likely attacked Thanos knowing he'd die (to keep it balanced). He was also willing to die just to avenge Frigga. Loki has a long history of dying for his loved ones to either avenge them or protect them. Loki would do ANYTHING to keep them from harm.
In respect to Frigga, I like thinking about how it's a reversal of the whole "mother willing to die/sacrifice for her children" when it's an adoptive child doing the sacrificing instead. IDK, it fucks me up to think about that. There's something there but I can't put words to it.

Here is another oc, this one was created recently, meet Detective Jacob Corwing. Here I share his lore:
Jacob Corwing
Birth Date: January 10th, 1984.
Birth Place: Chicago, Illinois.
Eye color: Blue.
Height: 6'1".
Age: 40 years.
Hair color: Copper blonde.
Nationality: American.
Gender: Male.
Affiliation: Private Detective, Former FBI, CIA and DEA agent who quit after having enough in dealing with the corruption from every agency he used to work.
Allies: Marcus Williams (Jacob is the only human who knows about Marcus demon form and the existence of the hell realm thanks to an incident facing some supernatural beings), succubus Nisha, Kyle García, Igal Caine, Boris and Remo Montgomery, demon Hoover.
Enemy: Zadkiel "The Demon King" Jones (serial killer who is wanted for the murder of Jacob's family and multiple serial murders).
Biography: Not many know about Corwing's past, but as a classic detective story, it has been speculated that he used to have a family who were killed by the serial killer Zadkiel Jones in a mocking of his marvelous career as a top agent of the law. In searching for justice to find the killer and avenge his family, Jacob got into many messes that made him discover not only the whereabouts of Jones and his horrifying crimes, but also discovered a thread of corruption in all the agencies he used to work in. As a man who wanted not only to bring justice to his loved ones, but to protect innocents to not have the same fate as him under the serial killer rampage, Corwing quit every agency and work by his own, searching, interrogating with brutal force every one who got information about Zadkiel, becoming into a big obsession that not only is taking most of his life, but also his own sanity.
Things got more complicated when he met ex-MARSOC soldier / vigilante Marcus Williams, who not only shared the same objective: Protect innocents; but also he would discover a dark secret from the man that would bring him into the supernatural realm.
Now having to deal not only with the search of Zadkiel Jones, but also face supernatural beings in his life, there are times that Jacob only wants to have some peace and just forget everything, but as a stubborn man, he has a vow code that guides his nature: "Protect and serve".
Skills: As a former FBI, DEA and CIA agent, he has a lot of knowledge of the mafia world, government bureaucracy and secret projects and discoveries that had never been known to the public. Also he is a perceptive man who checks every detail around a crime scene, he is guided by evidence, detects when a person is trying to lie to him and a sharp shooter with his 92 FS INOX who treasured with all his heart and doesn't let anyone touch it, some speculate that the gun was given to him by his wife, however, Jacob has remained reserved regarding such a statement.
Weakness: As a man who lost his way after dealing with the brutal murdered of his family, he suffers an extent PTS, to the point of becoming into psychosis where he hears voices of the ones he cares about, the only way to deal with the inner demons is just drinking and night clubs, even asked Marcus ally the succubus Nisha to help him with the mess of his mind, who without any hesitation, helps without any problem, many had thought that maybe there could be something more between the detective and the succubus, but Jacob had denied all involvement saying that a demon is best in keeping secrets than a human.
Family Murdered incident: Not so many know about what relationship Jacob and Zadkiel had in the past, many had said that both used to be great friends and great comrades during the FBI and DEA days, as Jones being a respectful doctor back then, both were responsible for bringing many criminals down thanks to their dynamic: Zadkiel as a great doctor to deduce the victims deaths and Jacob as the man who used to stop the killers. Both were invincible until that horrific day, when Jacob discovered a dark secret behind Zadkiel's "good doctor" facade: A serial killer obsessed with the perfection of the human body and recreation of Renaissance paintings with the bodies of their victims. Unfortunately for Jacob, one of those victims was his wife and daughter, who took a tragic fate and became one of Zadkiel's horror crime scenes.
Falling into depression and a complete rage not only because the person he trusted most was also responsible for his family murdered. The worst part about the incident was that his daughter's body was never recognized since the flesh sculptures were unrecognizable and the DNA was lost during testing and corruption of the agencies. Now in complete grief, Jacob searches without no end the bastard that he once considered as a brother.

I think my thing with Marvel lately, Loki included, is that so many things have happened that make other moments harsher in hindsight. With Loki, it's hard to go back and watch the show knowing it's all leading to him being alone AGAIN. Like Lady Sif telling him he's gonna be all alone is something I can't even stomach now (I can't even watch the ending either except maybe Mobius and Sylvie's scene because I love that duo because it just makes me feel uneasy. I wish I could appreciate the beauty of it more.) And the Mobius telling Loki he can be anything even hurts too. (It's probs my favorite scene in the series.) I feel similarly about Spider-Man No Way Home's ending and some other stuff like WandaVision. Lotta Iron Man stuff too.
On a more positive note, I love the "I've been where you are..." scene just like you, and it's one of the things that first really endeared me to the Loki and Sylvie dynamic. Do you have any insights/headcanons about Sylvie's thought process during the show at all? Or any Mbius headcanons in general?
Yeah I totally get what you mean. I kind of like those moments though that lead up to the ‘tragedy’ so to speak, I love me a bit of foreshadowing. But I completely understand and agree that on rewatch it feels harsher because you know what’s coming.
I hated the Time Cell scene with Sif, I also hate how it was played off for laughs when she repeatedly kept slapping him and kneeing him in his glorious purpose (sorry I had to😭). Like, will I reblog or use the moment of him on his knees? Well, yes, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think context of which he is on his knees for is horrible. It also goes to show more about Mobius’ character too, and I completely felt Loki’s frustration because I know how it feels to not be listened to, but I also can’t blame Mobius for his knee-jerk reaction of ‘he betrayed me’.
Sylvie’s thought process to me is a mirror to Loki’s during Thor 1/Avengers, obviously they have different reasons/goals, but S1 she is in that same headspace of being blind-sighted by her own ambition and need for vengeance. She is fighting for her freedom and nothing will stop her from achieving that. There’s some great parallels there between her and Loki, how Loki has stated multiple times his opinion of freedom and how it’s a lie, whereas Sylvie doesn’t seem to see it that way, and I think her perspective helps shift Loki’s (especially with the added context of the TVA/HWR).
Sylvie is like a wounded animal. She lashes out and is quick to react. She doesn’t think about the consequences. In S2 however, she is shown the consequences. And you can see how it begins to sober her up, makes her realise that whilst what she did was maybe the ‘right’ thing, it wasn’t as simple as right or wrong. Her and Loki are both selfish in different ways, but ultimately what it comes down to is their loneliness. She does the Loki thing and shrugs everything off as a mere inconvenience, thinking she knows best. Except, she truly has conviction. She really believes in what she says, what she stands for, which is something I feel Loki has struggled with. He didn’t know what he stood for, until he had to made the hard choice of sacrifice to ensure his friends and the many lives on the branches were safe. Then he found his conviction.
Sylvie does care, she just opts to act aloof because that’s all she knows, it’s how she protects herself. She had to build these defences after spending her whole life in apocalypses, on the run and raising herself. She’s going to have bad habits, morally grey thinking/beliefs, drastic behaviour and solutions because she’s only had herself to learn from. It’s like when you learn to drive from a parent and you pick up their bad habits, right? Except, she is the driver as well as the parent, and it’s a matter of nature vs nurture with her. The worlds she grew up in shaped her, they made her who she is.
I don’t really have any Mobius headcannons, but I think he would definitely be a great friend. Not a perfect friend by any means, but he would fight your corner when you needed him, challenge you to think differently and also let himself learn from you in return.

20 questions for 20 writers
tagged by @wheelsup-sevenup
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 69 (nice 😏)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 317,923
3. What fandoms do you write for? Marvel (mostly ironwidow) and Our Flag Means Death. I have some Clexa fics from back in the day but haven't written for the fandom in years.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? i'm kinda surprised by these but i guess that older fics and multichapter fics have more time to accumulate kudos? - Something Worth Living For (2498 kudos) - A Night of Drunken Revelry (564 kudos) - iron masks and spider kisses (534 kudos) - Broken (485 kudos) - The Art of Taking a Blade (461 kudos)
5. Do you respond to comments? YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES. I try to reply to every comment because each one is literally the best part of my day.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Oof. The shit I've put Natasha through lol. Probably falling. which is Natasha reflecting on her life as she falls to her death on Vormir. dream. is also up there, it's about kid!Natasha learning to love Yelena as a sister.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? "happiest" is not quantifiable lmao. In the context of canon, maybe Something Worth Living For, it was cathartic and healing to give Clarke and Lexa their happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Yup it's happened a handful of times, luckily few and far between, but they always feel like getting a splinter stuck in my skin for days afterwards.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I've written light smut of the sapphic variety. I'm ace so smut is never about the sex for me, it's about character dynamics, power and intimacy. For example, the (non-explicit) sex scene in iron masks and spider kisses is about Toni baring her deepest secrets to Natasha and letting herself be vulnerable with her, and Natasha's acceptance of Toni's scars and past.
10. Do you write crossovers? Nope. My brain doesn't work that way.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I think that some of my very early ironwidow fics have ended up on Wattpad :/
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I know of
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yup I've written a few early ironwidow fics for a challenge waaaaaay back in 2014, with the talented @auripigmentum, @kuailongs and SatinSatire. They helped me find my footing with writing ironwidow: Chemical Reaction (Tony gets kidnapped, Nat comes to his rescue), Never Simple (Natasha finds out secrets about her own past, angst ensues), and Good Intentions (speakeasy era AU that still lives in my head rent-free)
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? i'd be lying if i said anything other than ironwidow. It's the ship I keep coming back to for over a decade.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Oh god. The teen vigilante Avengers AU I was writing in 2014. Idk if it'll ever see the light of day but it was my all-consuming pride and joy for months.
16. What are your writing strengths? idk, you tell me. probably putting characters through angsty situations lmao. Also action scenes (thank u Warrior Cats).
17. What are your writing weaknesses? actually writing lmao. It's hard to get into the mood/mindest for writing. Also writing multichapter fics – my attention span isn't built for anything longer than a 5+1.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I rarely do this because I know that code-mixing (mixing two or more languages when speaking) is incredibly nuanced, varying depending on language, context, and individual speakers. I pretty much only do this when the character canonically code-mixes in speech, and I try to stick to how they would speak, in order to sound as natural as possible.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Warrior Cats when I was about 12 on deviantart. Good times.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Oh MAN. It's hard to choose a favourite child. I don't think this is my most well-written fic, but the question is asking for a favourite fic not a well-written one, and it's probably iron masks and spider kisses. I loved exploring fem!Toni, and her relationship with her gender and femininity. It's a specific flavour of ironwidow that I haven't found in many other fics (tho there are a couple out there that definitely influenced how i wrote this fic). It's also truly a labour of love – I started writing this around the time Endgame was coming out, and wrote it over a time of enormous change, angst and upheaval in my life.
This was so much fun! I love talking about my writing haha and sharing older fics.
Tagging: @queeenpersephone @autumnwoodsdreamer @missmacfire also i'm realising that i don't remember which of my mutuals is a writer (it's 1 am u can't blame me for this) so if you're a writer – especially if you're on the OFMD fic server – consider yourself tagged!
