Jem: Some loves are not made to accompany each other as much as we wish, but I am sure that I loved him as much as I could, and he loved me back in his own way with all of him. But, I never managed to tell him in wath way I loved him. I didn't know it myself.

Mina: Can't you tell him now? Maybe you can call him.

Jem: Every day I try to remind him, maybe one day I will be able to hear his answer.

i was minding my business working on an essay and i suddenly remembered that will is never going to hold mina in his arms or play with her, he’ll never be present in her life like jem (as brother zachariah) was with james and lucie. he would’ve loved mina so much. and jem and tessa will live the rest of their lives without will ever being there again. will’s random demon pox singing, his hilarious poetry, they’ll only ever be a memory. will herondale will never live with a healthy jem carstairs. i’m shattered

modern day wessa headcanon at a taylor swift concert 👀

i can't help but feel like will would be a bigger taylor fan than tessa would. but tessa would have the plan based on will's interest as to when to grab merch, purchase refreshments, go to the bathroom, etc. not that will isn't a strategist, ofc, but i think if it weren't for tessa's practicality, he would forget all bodily functions and just lose himself in the revelry and the artistry. even though will is the bigger fan, they both have most if not all of the lyrics memorized, and much of the concert ends up being concentrated between the two of them, especially from will's side. he can't help it. a love song makes him think of tess tess tessa and he looks at her and holds her hand and serenades her with that goofy smile of his. when taylor sings songs like the archer and will's heart plummets, tessa holds onto him. and when she sings songs that remind them of grief and jem, the two hold onto each other <3

headcannon that one time when alec was at cirenworth to talk to jem or smth, he gave kit his number "for emergencies"

and kit, being a herondale, texts him regularly. what does he text, you ask? selfies. what kind of selfies? ones where he is breaking the law.

alec gets pictures of him getting a flu shot every year. and he's so frustrated b/c several people would be really pissed at him for arresting kit, and he did worse anyways.

just... kit interacting w/ the tmi squad brings me much joy

as requested, here is your will and jem headcanon <3

i can only imagine that considering jem was destined to die quite early, he had a little bucket list of things he wanted to do before he eventually died

and will being will found this hidden in jem’s room

he took note of what things jem wanted to do and he just started to slowly tick off things

will didn’t want jem to notice will was taking him out to do these things on purpose… more like a happy coincidence

but jem, as we know, is quite observant, and he seemed to notice a pattern in the places will would take him, the foods will would make him try, the books will would give him 

so jem would tick off the things on his list, and add new ones, leaving the list in the same spot for Will to look at. 

eventually it turned into a “let’s see how many will can force jem to do in a year” challenge

sometimes, will would smash out three things in one day, which would leave jem to retire to his bedroom for a week

on jem’s slower days, will would try and do the more quieter wishes, like sitting by the fire together while jem teaches will how to play wei qi 

either way, they both enjoyed how it made them even closer and it also gave them ideas of things to do on their days off

neither of them spoke about the bucket list. it ruined the whole fun of it. after all, they were just two parabatai having fun together, right?

viltau does get fussy over his friends' wellbeing, however he tends to be a lot more hands-off with velour because he thinks vel is overdramatic with the things he frets over and needs a reality check or someone with a level head + an ability to make a plan more than anything else

he's also a lot less inclined to fret over jamie as well because he knows jamie Fucking Hates That and can handle himself fine... but vil is also very much not immune to 'i told you so'-ing him if he does something stupid that vil knew was probably going to end in disaster. in fact he relishes in it because hes a catty bitch

Asmodeus Headcanon

Okay, in Chain of Gold, we find out that Asmodeus is the Prince of lust and the general of Hell’s army. We can see that reflected in Magnus as he’s had a lot of relationships and sex throughout the years, and through his love for flirting and innuendos. We can see him being the warlock representative on the Council and him being a High Warlock as representative of Asmodeus’s powers as the general. I was thinking, what if he was also secretly the Prince of glitter? It would explain Magnus’s obsession with it. Also, TLH says he worked a lot with Henry, who introduced him to glitter in the first place. What if Asmodeus made him work with Henry (without Magnus knowing) so that he could be introduced to glitter. It would explain so much in the series. Feel free to add to this!

some thoughts on headcanons and the way I read things

There are some characters and worldbuilding elements I know I will never see the way most people do. Because I knew a slightly-annoying African-American kid with blue eyes in high school, Will Herondale is a Black man in my head and this has influenced how I see his kids (and his niece and nephew), too. And he's not the only character who looks vaguely like someone I once knew. The Institutes in TSC don't look like cathedrals, they look like the single-story brick or clapboard buildings of the AME church and similar denominations I've typically gone to. Hogwarts has a far more gothic vibe than anything we see in the movies—both in the 19th century and the 13th century sense. Both Kash and Blake from The Girl From Everywhere are unusually short for YA love interests.

It's the kind of vast differences between my headcanons and what everyone else sees where I just accept that I'm in the minority and other people aren't going to see what I see. It's led me, also, to just accept other people's headcanons even when I don't see it the same way because I just know there's things I see in a way they don't. I don't even know why I'm sharing this. Sentimental brainrot over my life as a fanauthor, perhaps. Reflecting on the way I see these characters. I'm writing my memoirs. Oh no.

Balios and Xanthos are actually Achilles's horses and the London Institute just owns them now and they live forever like Church with no explanation.

And I mean the actual Balios and Xanthos were immortal so... Just saying
