Me after reading the book about Celine Herondale: Oh I love this character spuch I really wish she had a good life *starts shipping her with Stephen*
Also me: *re-reading Stephen's letter to Jace and Amatis words* oh shit I love this two I'm so sad they're wedding have been broke by Valentine.
Always me: but I'm happy for Celine? But I'm also sad for Celine?
And feel bad for Amatis?
So in conclusion, Amatis and Stephen would have had a wonderful life and Celine deserved better.
I really hope that there's a universe where she fell in love with someone that truly loved her
Stephen I'm hating you so much right now

Celine Montclaire deserves the hate Grace Blackthorn gets.
Celine chose to destroy Stephen & Amatis's marriage along with Valentine. She wasn't forced into doing that.
Grace was forced and threatened to use the gracelet when she did not want to do that to James at all. When she got the opportunity, she even took it off.
Stephen also never found out about Celine's involvement in breaking him up with the love of his life, so she really succeeded in ruining his happiness for her own benefit. (I doubt Stephen would've consented to sleeping with her if he knew she tore him from Amatis.)
And Grace... she hated herself more than anyone else did for what she was forced to do. She confessed to Cordelia and tried to do her best to fix what she could.
They were both abused little girls, but Grace was a kind & good person, Celine was not.
And I’m not hating Celine for not being a perfect victim, Grace wasn’t a perfect victim either, but being a victim does not excuse consciously choosing to ruin someone’s marriage, which Celine did.

Celine, oh Celine,
Hungry, hungry, hungry absolutely starving.
For some reason she was always starving, there was a whole so large inside of her that she tried to fill with food, Sadness, training anything and everything,
No matter how much she ate, she was always unsatisfied.
Food seemed to evaporate in front of her.
No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t let a tear leave her eyes.
She was always numb and feeling too much at the same time.
No matter how much she trained, she never passed out.
Her limbs would ache and she would be awake through the burn of her appendages.
Sleep was a foreign concept to celine, she tried and tried, tossed and turned, but sleep never came.
When it did, she didnt notice.
A fraction of a second, then she was awake, and time had passed.
It's as if she blinked and missed the world moving one with out her.
Celine was a girl who never had enough.
Hands empty, scrambling for purchase on the face of the universe, searching for a single atom of it, that loved her

I’m just saying:
Céline Herondale wouldn’t have named her son Jonathan if she had gotten the chance to name him
She probably would have either a) named him after his father, Stephen, or b) named him a French name because she was, you know, from France
Like at the very least, Jace could have been Jean Christophe if she had the opportunity to name him and CC was set on him being a Jonathan Christopher

celine and more ab her background, her way to be

the mortal instruments; celine and stephen herondale
At first I believed in Valentine’s cause. I turned from my family and to the Circle because I fancied myself better than Downworlders and the Clave and my suffocating parents. My anger against them was a tool Valentine bent to his will as he bent and changed so many of us. When he drove Lucian away I did not question it but gladly took his place for my own. When he demanded I leave Amatis, the woman I love, and marry Celine, a girl I did not know, I did as he asked, to my everlasting shame. I cannot imagine what you might be thinking now, knowing that the girl I speak of was your mother. The second thing you must know is this. Do not blame Celine for any of this, whatever you do. It was not her fault, but mine. Your mother was an innocent from a family that brutalized her. She wanted only kindess, to feel safe and loved.

Today I just clicked about something. Valentine demanded Stephen to leave Amatis, wich he did. But what if he didn't accept the order?! I'm absolutely sure Valentine would have killed Amatis and Celine wouldn't care if he did. Celine pretty much decided to close her eyes about two innocents being killed just because they opposed to Valentine, then she found out they were her parents and still decided to do nothing even though she strugled during the trial (I know they weren't saints). Celine wanted Stephen, and she pretty much demanded that he was not to get hurt in the process of him being given to her, but didn't say anything about Amatis. My point is that Celine was selfish and cruel enough to have Amatis, the wife of her crush, killed if it meant to have Stephen all to herself. In the end, I don't even judge Stephen anymore for leaving Amatis, cause if he didn't she would have died by the hands of Hodge or another Circle follower since Valentine always sent others to do his dirty work. Celine might have strugled about her death, but would still justify that she, Celine herself, deserved Stephen more than Amatis so it was an acceptable death.

thinking about how Celine Herondale never got the respect of getting a proper shadowhunter burial because she was deemed unworthy since she committed suicide
when in reality that poor girl was brutally and cold heartedly murdered by people she trusted the most.

I think I've said this before but I personally believe the reason everyone always changed who they thought Jace looked like is because he looks more like his mom than he does Stephen.
I know, I know you guys are gonna say "No, Amatis said he looks like Stephen"
And maybe he does a little, but in my opinion I never saw the resemblance.
Plus, no one really paid Céline much mind, so after she died it'd make sense everyone just forgot about her and the way she looked cause no one cares to remember her.
So, yeah. I think he gets his looks more from his mom. I also think some of his personality is from Céline.

I don't know what to think about Valentine Morgenstern anymore.
Like, he's a piece of shit of course, but I should be thankful to him cause he's the reason of Jace existence?
"Thank you Valentine for making one of the most loved Herondale come to live but you're really a piece of trash so you shouldn't have existed but thank to you Jace exists?"
btw I think that if Celine and Stephen were both still alive Jace would still have a difficult childhood, cause Stephen didn't love Celine but Celine did, so little Jace would have lived in a house were his father loved him as his child but regretting his existence cause he still loved his ex wife Amatis and Celine knew it and she would try to make Jace feel happy with his family, but Jace would still be angry at Stephen and would end up hating is father.
considering the things written above, thank you Valentine for doing what you did but I hate you for doing what you did,I'm really glad you're dead cause you really were a bullshit

Celine ruined Amatis's life selfishly and her karma was dying unloved.
Amatis lived a miserable life because of Celine and died a horrible death but in the end she died with everything Celine wished she had.
Amatis died loved, and she died respected. Luke loved her, Jocelyn probably loved her too as family, Stephen loved her until his last breath while he never wanted Celine, and Celine's son respected her.
No1gaf about Celine when she died, and honestly, it was somewhat deserved.
(Disclaimer: She did not deserve to be abused growing up, no one deserves that, but her upbringing does not justify her actions and she died a bad person.)

Céline Montclaire
Céline Montclaire is one of those characters who made a deliberately selfish decision after living a life of never getting what she wanted and feeling deprived of the little things any person deserves to have. Not everyone is perfect and she sure as hell wasn't. I hate that she stole Stephen from Amatis BUT she was 17 and lonely and craving love and attention and while all those aren't reasons enough to destroy someone's marriage, she believed she had no choice. Valentine made her believe she had and she did. But she didn't think it was worth it spending a life like that.
Remember, Céline thought she could just start over,
She could close the door on the past, start again. She could choose a life without pain, without suffering or fear.
She could stay silent and walk away and still never have anything or anyone and what Valentine offered her was not just acceptance in a group of people but also the one person she loved and could marry.
Céline made a difficult choice. It was not easy to choose that life. But I believe she must have thought that if she's staying silent, it must be worth having something in return. It was either (and I quote)
run to the Clave, tell them whatever story you like. Save these two ‘innocent’ Shadowhunters—and lose the only family who’s ever truly cared about you
In this case, she would have chosen to do the right thing and been selfless.
Or,
It wasn’t too late to speak up, to save her parents. Or she could keep her word and keep his secret. [...] But that didn’t mean she had to accept the entire bargain. Even if she stayed silent, she could walk away: away from Valentine, now that she knew what he was capable of. Away from Stephen, now that she knew what he thought of her.
In this case, she would have chosen the wise thing. She would have been better off having nothing to do with Valentine, his filthy secrets and horrific reality or, his precious little Circle.
And,
It would mean a lifetime of longing for the one thing she could not have.
In which case, she couldn't think clearly at all. Valentine blurred her thoughts by instilling fear in her. The fear of not having Stephen, let alone be close to him on Circle missions. The fear of having no one and starting over.
When Céline chose to bargain with Valentine, her silence in exchange for getting to marry Stephen, she felt,
It didn’t feel like choosing, because it was the only choice she had.
But it wasn't the only choice she had. It was the only choice she felt safe in. And I truly can't blame her for choosing to be selfish and wanting anything even close to what she always wanted and never had.
It can be easy for most to think that starting over was the best and most peaceful option, but I believe that for a girl who was so close to having the person she loves (even if it wasn't returned), it wasn't easy. It was like giving up and hoping and she couldn't keep hoping so she held on. She chose to stay and face those consequences rather than the ones of starting over and hoping. Not everyone is brave enough to live on in hope.
Please give this girl more recognition and some appreciation for making the difficult choice in life and for once, choosing something for herself.
